Fr4 i find to be muting, almost decreasing the sound of a board and drawing away from whichever inherent sound profile it had, cf makes it run higher pitched and can sometimes add a more metallic resonance

so I use dielectric grease

and just add a tiny bit as needed until it sounds consistent

I think that has screw in stabs, they should be good to go stock, but you can try them a bit, if you want to lube them a bit more you have to take the whole keyboard apart

I was wondering about this as well so I took some apart when I got my hands on them. Turned out, they were already quite well lubed. Some of mine got a bit of spring ping tho (very slightly but my ocd just can’t 😅) so I decided to hand lube the springs but that’s about all I did

I mean Geon only put lube on the parts that make contact for smoothness which are the stem and the stem rails

The main parts that would change the sound with lube is the bottom housing floor and the top out for the stem on the top housing

I lubed all my alphas with a really thin coat of krytox (even the bottom and top housing), spread the factory lube on the stem, and bag lubed all my springs

All the switches broken in and they all sound good. I need more krytox for my stabs and all that but overalll great sounding stock switch

Pretty "old" now but there is a difference in terms of sound when applying the tape mod. You should be expecting the lower and mids increasing in volume including the whole board's volume while the tape mod filter out the high frequencies (Just louder and a bit deeper in general). The reason why you don't hear a difference in the video wooting posted about the tape mod on their 60he is because of the steel plate. It's technically preventing the tape mod to make any difference in sound due to the material which I won't get in detail about.

Think of it like this, plate foams/pads are used as sound acoustic modifiers, they change the frequencies and sound of the switch, plate, and pcb from just puting materials in between them. Poron plate foam for example cuts out the higher frequencies and emphasizes on the lower and mids (thock for yall buzzword users) and silicone would cut out the mids.

eek, so your camera is legit the camera that was at the cutoff of what you can just "plug and play" into a computer using Nikon's software, the D3500 is the first supported one. You would need a mini hdmi to hdmi cable and a capture card in your pc to use it as a camera i believe.
