Wobble also kills possible sensitivity. The less wobble, the more sensitive the board can be. This doesn’t matter currently for Woot’s boards but maybe in the future when they allow more sensitive settings.

I might just be a worrier too and think that I messed something else up on the board even though I have no reason to think that. They work great. Other than the travel being shorter it’s been awesome after I dialed in the actuation of the keys. I did have to put in a 70g spring on the space bar because I have the cerakeys on there and the space bar is heavier. Other than that, no issues.

If anyone was ever on the fence on doing a gummy o-ring mount on their alumaze, I can highly recommend. I installed a graveshift s last night, slightly difficult to inset into case at first but with two credit cards I was able to apply pressure on the screw in stab points near the space bar area to get it to slide in. And it's quite the nice subtle difference in feel.

yeah dont bag lube with 205... its meant to be applied on. you'll need something thinner like 105 for bag lubing. think about it like this... for your personal time do you use baby oil or lotion?

This!!! I tried bag lubing with 205 and it worked but the consistency was very very odd for several switches. It did seem to settle in as the springs were used but the consistency was definitely odd for a week.

stacking them onto tight ones can cause issues

in general though films are meant to reduce high frequency sounds. the thinner the material the sound is travelling through, the thockier the keyboard becomes. if you have thick material in the case, then you'll get a more clacky sound.

films are thinner than foams, so thats why you should look for films for this

film isnt used to just describe the stuff that goes into the switch. a film is a thin sheet of plastic or whatever material. you can call the stuff that goes below or on top of the pcb a film
