Turns out I smoked an LED on my OG Wooting 60HE by stabbing a switch through it when I got the orientation wrong. So, because I am who I am - I ordered an entirely new wooting 60he+ module.

I'm hoping that the new module will fit in my tofu60, brass weight, O ring, foam, StickyRice Linear's, with some Cerakey caps.

Forgive my naivete, but I'm just trying to find a straight answer on all this as I haven't messed with screw in stabilizers vs non screw in stabilizers. Hoping I've read correctly on all my deep diving and how everything should just fit right in again.

Curious about the sound difference from the steel plate versus the polycarbon plate, though....Also wondering if Polycarbon is just short for Polycarbonate.

You should be able to purchase a single LED from Woot if you contact them. Then you can either resolder it yourself or a local repair shop. They probably wouldn’t charge much if anything for it as it takes less than 10 seconds.

Which Sticky Rices are you using? Do they work well?

You can use screw ins with the Module but not all are compatible. I’d recommend sticking to the stock stabs and only tune or switch to something else if you have a problem with them.

Steel is very stiff compared to PC. Most prefer PC over steel for sound and feel. PC, Polycarb and whatever else mean Polycarbonate.

just copped some jades, ive been using the stock switches because i wanted to really test them out before i started modding the board, and i will say the stock switches arent bad, and they dont sound the worse imo, they are decent switches compared to what ive had in the past like a rk61 and razer hunstman mini, they sound better by far, but ive seen and heard the jades and i am very fond of the sound, now i just need to find a good keycap set and possibly some other mods (maybe) and itll be good to go, i also dont know if i should lube the jades even mroe when i get them, even tho they come pre lubed.

Here is my advice. Use your new keyboard as is for at least a week. After that week you’ll have a better idea of what its shortcomings are. Those are the things you can change. After that we will be here to recommend parts. And after doing all this you’ll have a better appreciation for the work you did and why you did it.

I trimmed down a little bit where the inserts for the screws are. When your staebies arrive, install them on r-shift and then try to install your enter stabilizer. They will collide, that’s why I’ve used sand paper on the r-shift.

So can someone explain what issues a switch with lower than 4.0mm travel distance can cause? In the latest vid they say the jades might have issues but does not say it for the Geon Raw switches which also have less than 4.0mm travel distance?

The issue with the jades is that in rare cases, specific keycap sets have problems with the stabilizers not being stable and need long pole stems
