If you like the sound of the open bottom Sticky Rices, I’d go with Black Knight switches as those sound similar. There is a closed bottom Sticky Rice switch by Haimu (untested) and a closed bottom Glutinous Rice switch by Hejin/Grain Gold (works) but both aren’t widely available yet.

and sound profile of both is more like Neo Lavenders/Raw HE//Jades than the original Sticky Rices.

There’s a V2 and a V2 by a different manufacturer but both are closed bottom switches so sound profile is entirely different.

You can just enable the RGB effect, the one that shows you how far down a key is pressed.

I don’t remember the name.

Then press slowly, if it doesn’t jump from 8 to 0 in an instant when almost fully pressed, they’re fine.

If they don’t reach 0 even when fully pressed, they have weaker magnets so not fine.

If 1-3 lights up without being pressed yet, their magnet strength isn’t yet support and they aren’t fine.

That’s about it.

The numbers mean the keys 1-0, 1-0 will light up depending how far a switch is pressed with that RGB effect.

another very cool thing I noticed about gmk is that double shot tech is different from some other manufacturers

the keycap stem is the same part as the outer shell, which is why they feel nicer to type on, imo

What mods are on mind:

• case (tofu 60 maybe or wooting alumaze. I’ll appreciate if someone tells the difference or suggests other option, i only know those 2)
• caps (some gmk set maybe)
• stabilisers (dunno shii)
• maaaybeee switches (gateron jade or sticky rice or dashes. Dashed has best sound i think but dunno their difference in performance/specs etc and would appreciate someone who can enlighten me

1. Depends on the mods you do. If you mean things like switches, make sure to replace them with compatible Hall effect switches. They often have HE in the name (for example Geon Raptor HE), and google to make sure they are compatible with wooting keyboard.
   Other mods like a case and a different gasket shouldnt change anything. The biggest thing that matters in hall effect switches is the distance between the sensor and switch. I recommend researching any mods to the gasket or PCB on your own.
2. new switches. Im doing geon raptor HEs but i heard there are other good options like WS Dash switches. A new aluminum case will also make it sound better. I also recommend tape modding the back of the PCB. you can find plenty of videos on how to do it, just note that after 2-3 layers of tape it becomes hard to screw the keyboard back together

Can't say that it is "better" but the pitch frequency on the PC plate is much lower than the FR4

So if you have the FR4 rn and ordering the PC plate just expect the board to be lower pitched

original = more thock, felt = more clack - plastic cases like the hhkb are better with original, metal cases with heavy weights usually fare better with felt… highly depends on case and switches and how hollow your table is ;)
usually original is better because it’s like a deskmat, just lots of foam :)
