Maglev seems liike the board would sound purely from the pcb, plate, switches, and keycaps no? cus its not really like making direct contact with the case?
Guessing like sound could still travel through and bounce around the case but most of the sound acoustic comes from basely from everythin else im assuming, since its fking floating in the case

Also thinking this cus iirc gasket mount also isolates the plate and pcb from the case a bit as well as its not making direct contact like tray mount or top mount

Well GMK is a brand not a material

But they use ABS

Which I prefer over PBT

Not that PBT isn’t good, it’s great, just personal preference

ABS is usually Clackier and PBT is usually deeper if it’s high quality thick PBT, ABS shines quicker than PBT, PBT last longer before it starts to shine. But if you’re a true GMK enjoyer then you embrace the shine, plus it kinda feels nice. GMK spacebars are unmatched to me personally lol, they just sound the best once tuned.

Honestly, I'd say this is personal preference, but just know that with open bottom housings they tend to give off a neutral frequency in terms of sound which yall may call thock, not like you can achieve it right away but its doable with open bottom housings. Closed however shortens the travel distance for the stem while in affect it would sound higher pitched, almost like a long pole switch (technically), so in this case you would be achieving more of a clack side on your build.

Lots of mods you can do outside of lubing switches

But at the same time, you can start with a prebuilt and then as you learn more about the keyboard space and get interested in new things then you can mod it as you go 🙂
