Black jades are definitely the upgraded version of it

They fixed the stem wobble problem all hall effect switches have with this one

feel wise this switch is def the best he switch by far, sound wise it's okay (like a weird mix between a sp meteor type switch and a magnetic jade) and this lube job is probably the best lube job on any stock switch

If you only use hall effect switches it's probably not apparent, but there's a lot of stem wobble compared to enthusiast switches on most hall effect switches

If you have a normal Jade, KS-20 or Lekker switch please try stem swapping to confirm if the tolerances did indeed change. Friction (if the black Jade bottom housing is tighter) is a lot easier to notice than stem wobble.

By the way, stock wooting tray mount screws are M25 (iirc) so if you want to buy different set of screws get the M26 cus some case standoff may require some longer screws in order for the burger mount installation be easier.

If you want mod suggestion you can always check out #🪛│modding_faq most of the common mods are in there so definitely would want to check that out. But keep in mind, mods are use to fix or tune something in your keyboard to a certain way you like. A tip for modding is just do easy mods that could be undone if you don't like it, a mod of that example would be temptest tape mod as it just requires tape on the back of the PCB which can also be undone if you dont like it.

3 common mods you would see people do would just be lubing switch and stabilizers, and swapping keycaps and cases.

So we usually recommend those first as you would see them all the time here. Advance mods would be like making a custom plate and installing it into your board or like dremel your pcb to do a full out gummy mount wooting 60he, and etc.

Yes you can use a wood or resin case, but it needs to be in a GH60, POK3R, or DZ60 tray mount compatible.

It would not affect performance as it doesn't actually comes in contact with the module, other than mounting.

Yeah the tofu is just standard tray mount so if you wanted a different mounting style then you could get something like the Frog Mini or Salvation etc
