How effective is the bandaid mod for the 60HE?
and is it still possible with the + module?
the one where you put shit under the stabs?
i'd say it makes them worse
its good for plate mounts tho not on the spacebar
no
plate foam kinda ruins it
gummy o ring is already way quieter with these HE switches
i hated the pc plate for this config too, i used carbon fiber but i prefer louder higher pitched keyboards
if you want to use plate foam do not use the silicone pad
it is impossible to gummy o ring that
even the plate foam is pretty tight
I am using the silicone pad for my + module, but that is only because I wanted to try it out since my non+ module only came with the other one
the silicone pad is pretty good actually imo
I think I like the sound of the black foam more (because it thocks) than the silicone pad (it mutes a few frequencies and make it a bit more clacky)
it somehow makes it quieter but also higher pitched
thats fair all preference
no foam at all is the best to me even in tray mount
no matter the plate(except for steel)
Don't get me wrong I actually really like the silicone pad but I am just a bit more of a thock person
thats fine
I may switch between them quite often
I know
you build it how you like it
I am just stating that I am surprised how much I like the silicone pad since it sounds a bit different than what I normally go after
the tofu is pretty versatile for modding tbh
I want a tofu/alumaze case in the future
The only metal case I have is my keychron Q7
if i still had the 2nd 60he i would've tried some more shit in the tofu
But it sounds a little hollow
the alumaze has a metallic tone to it
the tofu doesnt with the brass weight
i have them both
How would I get rid of the hollow metal like sound of my Q7?
im not sure how the Q7 is built but you could either do polyfill/tapemod or some kinda foam or if its built like the old Q1's you could do a force break mod
i know it sounds insane putting tape on the back of the pcb, but it does so much
Does not sound crazy at all
ye thats what I do
my wooting in the salvation has absolutely no foam in it just 1 layer of tape
But I heard electrical tape is best for tape mod right?
Moleskin tape is the bandaid like tape right?
not sure never used it
pads?
oh those
ye i heard abt those
geon has some really cool shit
i wish i owned a frog mini too
you can get a custom plate and put a 60he in it
Force breaking will probably have to be normal shelf stuff
Not to many options for that stuff in EU or I have to spend an arm and leg for shipping and potentially duty tax as well
look for something like this
So normal tape and not stuff specifically for modding
I can proabbaly just go to a construction shop and ask for 0.5mm tape
Keygem is EU?
well UK isnt in the EU anymore
Top of the morning yall
EU as in European Union not Europe as a whole lmao
Not after the tax usually
Hey king
remember when you promised last night you'd ship me those kitty keycaps?
Must’ve been a dream
nah no shot
atleast i hope you actually main them
they look to good to not be mained
he promised the sleep paralysis demon, not you lmao
If Cam hated them as much as he pretends, he would but he secretly loves them
Send pic
i might cop them
a real shame they arent GMK but still very nice
I bet an arm and leg it has no Nordic layout
They haha they are 1.5mm thick PBT tho
His room lighting is off, here are the real colors
do you have a link for these or the name?
Yeah my lighting is a bit yellow/pink
Looks even better ngl
ye my lighting is off too
Mine is just a bit more on the yellow tint instead of clinic white
thats the advantage of a big screen, put that bitch on white and you have enough light
that poor tofu just chilling there in the 2nd shot
not much
Hi pops
Man that low profile keyboard looks siiiiick lmao
Ah yes the cats
Its probably because your screen is blurry. BTW the answer is B
how can you read that

27 bucks for those really
Onggg
They used to be when I got em haha
ah
Yeah screw gmk
they support multiple layouts too nice
Cat caps better
They actually are tbh
ye cheap shit is getting surprisingly good these days
its a shame im too into the GMk sound profile especially the spacebar
these would be fun tho atleast to try and i have a 2nd board i could put them on
I want a symetrical keycap set like XDA for my Keychron Q7 because the keys that are supposed to be between the letter keys and the numpad are random heights because of the weird layout
Alr abt to leave for PE
Gonna play volleyball reeeeee
dont get hit this time
Cya when I get home
hf
this is what u have?
Yes but with Keychron Pixel Universe keycaps
I like weird
thats fine
im into weird shit too
tho this is a bit too weird for me
keychron makes some good shit tho
I could have gotten the more standard Q1 but thought "fuck it" and got the weird ass Q7
their Q1 and Q2 and their variants are really good
i love how that Q3 Pro looks to death ngl
isnt their Q1 HE supposed to have dropped by now?
on god
Idk but soon if not
Ive owned a V1, Q1 and Q4. I also have a Q1 HE coming in about 3 weeks
I would love to hear you opinion of the sound profile when it arrives
I wish it accepted Jades
I only have a Q7
I only own 2 keyboard
i own more than or well i owned more but ye
im more of a try shit on my own stuff before ordering more kinda vibe
i prob took apart my 2 wootings over 200 times since i had them
I techically own 3 because I have my non+ module but I am giving it away to a friend whom is getting a gamer PC sooner this month
My friend only needs a case
i just sold my non +
Yes, its about a month behind. This is the email I got last
Do you think Keychron could be a big competitor to Wooting with their HE tech?
the boog also seems interesting but apparently it had a lot of broken shit
They just changed to KS-37C version
if there is someone imo it isthem but HE is also sofware heavy
All the others are either not as good or still lag behind in terms of latency
KS-37C? another one
No, becuase the sensor type they are using is the same as the Boog75 and other KS-37 family boards
yes
what changed this time
So Wooting still have superior HE?
B vs C. C has no stem protusion
would be fun to try a plateless config with the KS37 type switches as i think with that thick ass tube it should stay in place
Tube is now gone
oh damn
i just saw ye
so in theory these should work on the 60he
if we get reverse polarity
Reverse Polarity?
the direction of the magnet in the switch iirc
Wait Are these the revised ks37?
pretty much what it seems like
(▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)ᴵ ˢᵉᵉ
these should be fun to compare against the KS20U
They will work, they just might not work well. Almost every reverse polarity switch we have tested so far maxes out the Wooting sensor between 3-3.5mm. This is likely due to the increased magnet flux strength required for boards that use the offset integrated sensor compared to the more expensive inline separate sensor that Wooting uses.
i see
i mean either way I dont think im swapping off Jades
but nice to see new options
I love my jades
Oh so that's what the beta firmware was for?
I may get the dual rail switch at some point too
The one you told us to test the other week?
we have a beta firmware for reverse polarity?
Yes. Simon has been hard at work trying to get all of my different switches to work so I can figure out which ones really work and which ones just register but dont have full range
Yes
w simon
Siiiiiiiiiiiiick
these in theory shouldnt sound too different from the KS20Us tho right? these KS37Cs
Prob
Im betting they are identical. In fact, based on Keychrons email to me that they are moving the sensor location, they MIGHT even be the same exact switch as a KS-20U but with the magnet flipped
Jades are BIS right now for HE switches
if you want a high pitched switch ye
Im actually rocking the peaches KS-20U's daily over my Jades
I still might try the KS20Us
Non HE question but have anyone tried the Gateron Smoothie linear switches and what are your opinion on them?
what config are you running? like plate/case
i have jades with cf plate in the salvation atm and i really love em. a little loud but quite nice
I am currently using them for my Q7 and they seem fine. But may need a bit more lube
I have the KS20U, they feel the same as any other open bottom HE switch.
We also have these to test. Maybe we can check them out tonight on stream
but I need to learn how to lube first
Not a fan of Outemu lol
Yeah feel wise will be the same, sound tho no
these should rattle way less or not at all and the stem should be the most stable
I didn't like the other Outemus we tried but these are a different material so who knows
no pins at the bottom strange
box stem for sure is interesting
Was thinking the same
these are 4mm travel right?
Yes
Here is how they compare to the Outemus we tested 2 weeks ago
are these not less stable in the plate?
express?
Think so?
if so then thats normal
How do you have so much stuff? Are you like rich or like know some people??? As a poor student I am extremly jealous
if its the normal DHL then its extremely impressive
We will find out tonight. The previous ones were def looser
u streamin?
Im old and dumb
im young and dumb
Sure, we can do one more test stream and play around with some switches
Same
thats why i have 3 cases, had 2 pcbs and 3 types of switches
Fair lmao
I have both Lekkers, Ks20, Raptor HE, Jades stock, Jades w/ 70g springs. Jades are BIS. The dual rail thing is a bit of a gimmick. Tons of other MX dual rail switches too.
sounds fun, if i dont sleep i'll pop in
ye it is a bit of a gimmick
but still cool they tried it
for sure
i just wish they would drop prices on these things a bit
I will say the Roller Linear MX switches are wildly good.
the KS20U oranges are 65 bucks on aliexpress, the white ones harvested from the prebuilt are 40 on ymdk's ali store
The stems have megnets in them (not for HE) but they hold little ball bearings on the stems - 100% the most stable switch I've evr used
ROLLER LINEAR SWITCHES The inspiration of the design is to capture a brand-new level of smoothness and minimize the stem wobble. It features 8-ball bearings that secure the stem movement, transitioning from face-to-face to point-to-point contact. This would change and reduce friction, thereby increasing the smoothness o
Yes
May try them for my Q7
zero stem wobbly in any direction, glide incredible stock, feel incredible stock, it's pretty shocking.
I bought a ton when they dropped, they sold out in a day
Anyone have a suggestion for a silent tactile switch (non HE)
And is there any Tactile HE switches out there? have not found any
KBDfans is trying to find better ways to produce them before they release them again and so they can send them out to vendors so they can be sold in more places
they are pretty extensive to produce
No tactile HE
HE has always been about linear movement. In due time I'm sure tactile will come out but not atm.
idk if tactile HE would fair that well
linear clicky HE would go hard
there are linear clicky switches for MX already
I preferer linear anyway. Just wanted to try something different
But may try some for my Q7 then
But does anyone know some good silent tactile switches? prefeably no loud click but a light one is okay
HHKB?
Only in ANSI?
Damn
I wanna learn ANSI in the future but I am already in the middle of learning how to use a 60% from a 100
take it slowly
i went from a full size to a 65 took me about 2 weeks
then again from a 65 to 60
a 64% percent would be ideal tbh
The lack of arrow keys (having to use fn) really threw me off for the first few months
Was about to say
much smarter use of space
One of the reasons I went with Q7 is because is is small and still have arrow keys
i just replaced rshift ralt and rctrl with my arrow keys as i never use those keys
the rshift in particular is the most useless key for me
And I like to use the extra ins, end, del, home, pgup, pgdown bottons for macro
then you would've have been served much better by a 65%
Probably yeah
Does Keychron have a 65%?
Their website sells all the parts of the KBD67 but not as the kit
(it was bait)
Oops
Lmaoooo nice catch
Told you, chat is supposed to help me
It’s working
You don't wanna see my 8 year old keyboard from Cooler Master then xD
you dont wanna see the dust behind my monitor
OMG saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame
well not rlly a monitor but there is so much heat coming off of this thing
lol I’m cleaning my pc / setup this weekend actually
My PC is too new to need a cleaning
i usually like to clean it every 3-5 weeks the pc that is
I do it every 3 months since I have a dust resistant case and I have slight positive pressure inside the case which helps preventing dust build up
Outemu has 2 tactile HE switches. Browns and Blues I believe
i dont do aircooling so all i have to do is clean the radiators in the back of the case
tho i dont really have to, the gpu is still running pretty cool and i dont play games
I only do air cooling
My old PC was air cooling and AIO cooled
Nice
brand new i probably wouldnt do it, the gpu coolers are too big to be shit
I upgraded from a 1070 to a 4070
i7 4770k to an i5 13400F
the cpu will run hot anyways
thats a nice upgrade
i dont plan on changing anytime soon or well until gta 6 comes on PC
My air cooloer is rated for 195 TDP and my 13400f only goes to 65 TDP
But I am upgrading it to a 13600KF soon
how good your contact is with the cooler
if you got unlucky and the IHS was soldered poorly
I know I build PC's pretty often
my 5800X3D runs extremely hot with 2 560 radiators on it for example
I know a hell of a lot more about PC's than keyboards. I have build PC's for many years but keyboards are a new hobbie for me
I may actually get an Intel GPU in the future just to try them out
But a cheaper one
unlike keyboards i don't really like trying shit out on my main PC
Because I already have a 4070
i like my pc to be always stable and to perform its best while staying as quiet as possible
I get that
i might switch to intel again for cpu next time
these amd x3d cpus run extremely hot and arent really that much faster for 4k gaming especially
amd is also pretty inefficient in idle due to the i/o die on the thing
I also heard that he 3D cache is slower for workstation loads and only faster for gaming
its not that its slower, its just a 1 trick pony cpu
the 14900K can match it 95% of time for 4k gaming while running at the same temp(for gaming) and has 3x the cores which are useful for decompression for example
I think I remember Linus saying it is a bit slower for work because it takes longer for the data in the 3D cache to tranfer because the cache is... well... 3D
it is slower because of the clocks against its normal non 3d counterparts
the 5800x3d against the 5800x loses 400mhz which is huge
Hmmmmm true
the 7800x3d against the 7700x loses even more but on Zen 4 its a bit less important
anyways wrong channel and im tired anyway
Never really tried to many AMD CPU's and I have yet to try an X3D chip
prob shouldnt talk abt gpus in this
lmao its the modding channel they cool with anything dawg
ye sounds fair
I'd prob wouldnt try one rn
too late into the generation and they all have their problems
Also why I did not adopt one
I like to have a least 2 or 3 generations of that tech before adopting full time
7800x3d is shit for anything besides gaming
7950x3d has issues manually swapping ccds so you have to do it urself and runs extremely hot due to chip density
7900x3d is just garbage
i swapped off of my 9900k because the mobo was dying for some reason
went to a 5950X and it was very good
but it was bottlenecking my gpu so swapped to this
I have a very very slight botttleneck on my 13400f with my 4070. So I am thinking about getting a 13600KF
And selling my 13400f to a friend
i got about 20-40% better perf on the x3d vs my 5950x
They’ve fixed this now
Basically the 7950x3d gets the exact same performance as 7800x3d in gaming
The recent video from HUB showed it to be pretty good
i saw that but still even if thats fixed
the cpu runs so fucking hot
for 160 watts in full load it does 90c that is insane
It’s designed too lol
my 5950X at 220 watts with PBO did 70c
i know but in a custom loop i hate hot cpus
Yeah the X3D have a tjmax of 89c and the non-3D is 95 iirc
Yeah I feel that
it gets to abt 70c during gaming while pulling 60-80 watts
my 9900K at 200 watts was doing less than that
but ik why it does it
My 13400F at max load only goes 68-72 celcius with my Be Quiet shadow rock 3
the 14900K isnt a good solution to my problem either because in full core it sucks a lot of power
im kinda stuck with my 5800X3D for now
not that thats a bad thing
it does really well with a 4090 at 4k
i just wish for more cores for decompression
it is pretty lame but its basically a 13900K
Agreed
which was a very good cpu
Is was just a refresh of 13 gen right?
Yep
its a 13900K overclocked
the 14900KS is really sus tho
its 1% faster than the 7950x3d while pulling over twice the power in this game even tho they still run the same temp
In some places here in Denmark 14 gen is like 20 bucks cheaper than their 13 gen counterparts
But only some places
Which I find weird
I had this same argument with someone before and basically tried to tell me “imagine caring about power consumption”
1% faster for 3x the power is some pretty weird behavior lmao
I dont care abt power consumption specifically
i care about efficiency
.
those 7980X threadrippers pull 350 watts but they are extremely efficient
But they were stuck in their opinion lol
and very easy to cool
I started to care after inflation hurt the power prices...
ye its not as easy as low power=low temps=less money
Right
AMD still runs hot due to how small the dies are and its hard to move the heat away fast
intel runs hot because it runs some insane voltages stock and has a lot of cores plus the arhitecture is old
also they have that contact issue and bending in the socket
Intel gets really really good once you undervolt that shit
Raises performace AND lowers temps
if we can make that argument i can turn on eco mode on the 7950X with 1 click and it'd still crushes it
its that kinda vibe
Thought that was just 12th gen and up chips
Ah
12900K 13900K 14900K and KS
I use those contact frames
the cpus b4 that are irrelevant
When I had mine
yeah i know them
I also have one for my am5 just because it looks good
derbauer delided recent intel cpus and found about a 7-8c reduction which is kinda crazy
did u have any issues with ur am5 shit?
Nah
Undervolting my 13400F was a huge performance boost for me
During that whole motherboard fiasco I manually changed my voltages
i undervolted and oc'd my 9900k and same result
Never had an issue
ye when asus was accidentally cooking up cpus upwards of 1000c in the socket
u know just a small mistake
And the boot times were a little long but nothing you couldn’t speed up a bit in BIOS and even without that, it wasn’t that bad
But it can only be done if your motherboard BIOS supports it because since it is a non-k it can't be changed in Intels own tuner software
its normal for the cpu to delid itself in the socket
thanks asus
but also thanks asus for the good working bios, i love asus bios on my b550 board
Yeah those exploded dies were crazy to see on Gamers Nexus
Yeah lot of people got refunds and got new CPUs even if there’s wasn’t affected
I have a asus B760M-A WIFI D4
does intel still block oc and ram oc on b series?
Not that I can remember
meanwhile i ran a 220 oc'd cpu on a $80 motherboard
I have not checked Ram OC tho
on amd
Yes
classic intel
There B boards suck compared to AMDs
yeah amds are pretty much the same as the flagship one
Better off with Z690-790
Yeah
if you have like a 14400F or smth u wouldnt
Only "RAM oc" they allow is XMP
yeah but does it limit it to a certain clock
Correct
for example on 10th gen it was limiting it to 2666mhz
Most likely
i wonder how many people are still using an 11900K or bought one last minute and got absolutely ripped off
that one was such a trashcan cpu
performance regression in basically every way + price increase
Which one?
Does mine support it?
i mean it should
Damn I just thought out of the box it would not since the old B boards did not
I need to do some overclocking then
u should look it up urself
for myself im pretty happy with the configs im running rn on everything
I will just check the BIOS myself when I restart my PC next time
Memory can be fully tuned on the B-chipsets nowadays. Only CPU multiplier OC doesn't work there.
The only thing is, RAM OC might be limited when you use a non-K CPU model, because a certain memory-controller-related voltage can't be raised with those CPUs.
i do not intend to play any game until gta 6 for PC so ye
i should prob restart mine
has been on for a pretty decent time
How long is yours usually on?
In other words, yes
well
Thanks for the info
its been 40 days since last power outage
omg haha
I turn mine off if I am away more than 30 min because of electrical prices lmao
i mean these pcs dont really use too much power
my pc in idle uses like 60 watts
20 from the gpu 40 from the cpu
85 watts here but am poor student with no job... haha
So cash is very limited
ye that makes more sense
heat for me is a bigger issue
i use a big oled "monitor" and it gets extremely hot here
it can get up to the high 40's in the summer and even for april its extremely hot
When I used to live with my parents then I did not give a shit but now I need to be more mindful of my money usage
yeah ofc
just hope ur not cooking urself due to temp outside
its almost 7pm and its 26c in fucking april
I live in Denmark (scandinavia) and it is like 5c
Only 2-3 months a year is actually warm here
only 2-3 months a year is actually cold here
we havent had below 5c in like years
i love cold weather myself
I am sometimes in Croatia, Greece and Turkey so I know how hot south-eastern Europe can be
yeah
i have to use an air conditioner pretty much everytime i game especially in HDR and in summer its always on
I wish it was more 50-50 here but it is like 75 cold and 25 warm
here its 99 hot 1 cold
we had 35c in the day until late october last year
48c was maximum in july
Our buildings have no air con at all and are build to insolate and keep in heat which makes the summers unbearable
It could be 20c outside and it would be 32c in my apartment
we havent had snow in 4 years i think
We had snow 2 days ago with 10c outside... I hate the Nordic wheater lmao
honestly it sounds love
with an ac in the summer it'd be perfect for me
i like the cold
Me too but NOT IN APRIL lmao
i like it always
it gets really hot in my room due to this monitor
OLED is not really known for its power efficiency
and the bigger it is the worse it gets
especially in HDR
Man the weirdest wheater I have tried is Egypts deserts. It could be like 35-40c in the day and go down to -8 in the night
It was but very weird to pack both winter and summer clothes
just take the cold like a chad
Title would be: CAN I BUILD THIS WOOTING KEYBOARD BEFORE DYING OF HEATSTROKE OR LOSING MY FINGERS FROM FROSTBITE? (Gone wrong)
I took it apart for the first time yesterday when I switched out my module with the + one
i can probably do a any % speedrun doing this shit by now lmao
I was confused with the case pad with the + module. Is that for the stock case or is it for a case that does not include case foam?
Night night buddy, ne vedem mai târziu
Well done gents. Off-topic for 30min followed by 2 min of random talk and 1 min of keyboard discussion. You make me proud
ADHD speedrun
thats basically what most specialized nerdy channels turn into
just off topic but with people who know shit about stuff
That's fair
Just saw the YouTube update. It seems to be implied that the Lekkers V2s will still have an open bottom but still have tighter tolerances than the V1s
Correct
For those of you that did the survey the posted today. What would be your number 1 pick to improve Wooting keyboards? Curious to know.
Investing more in Wootility development.
What would be key functions you want them to add?
All kinds of features similar to DKS and MT. Feature improvements and General QoL improvements.
The features it currently has are at the absolute tip of the iceberg.
see for me wootility is already more than enough
I think it would be sweet for 8k to be new standard
rappy snappy
exciting times
imagine a 60he 8k kickstarter tho
Did you read the live stream notes from Mark?
no
Livestream topics
80HE - Progress updates
- Now 3 weeks into the founder's campaign, 1 week to go. Where are we at?
- Up through now, we've been rebalancing layout and model allocations to match real sales
- But now with 3 weeks of data, we are locking it down and placing the first purchase order
- After accounting for order cancellations and pushing B2B buyers into the second batch
- First batch is 80% sold out across all layouts and models!
- Also means that we've gotten data about which layouts and versions are popular, and which might not make the cut.
- All of the prebuilt options will be available to purchase for the entire first and second batch!
- Second batch is TWICE the size of the first batch.
- Starting with the third batch, expect that some of the prebuilt models will not be available
- This won't matter if you buy within the next month or two.
- We'll give advanced warning! - How's the manufacturing plan going?
- The first purchase order got placed today
- We're on track to meet timelines!
- More details to come about exact manufacturing timelines - Lots of people have asked about editing orders; changing cases, that kind of thing
- This is really tough to handle on the backend; it's better to place a new order for what you do want, and have us cancel+refund the orginal
- Saves time, which is worth the extra it costs in transaction costs
60HE - New batches, fulfillment, getting in stock
- Bit by bit, we're more and more able to keep up with demand and keeping our keyboards in stock
- ISO layout keyboards will be in stock and stay in stock
- ANSI-US is a bit trickier
- Next week we'll be in stock in the US
- Two weeks we'll be in stock in the EU
- Modules were in stock for over two months straight, but last couple weeks saw increase in sales particularly to China
- We're producing more keyboards per month now than we ever have before - There have been a lot of questions about 8k 60HE.
- This is not possible via software, it would only be possible via a new hardware change
- To run at 8k takes a really beefy MCU, which costs a lot more
- Would also require a hardware redesign, the MCU is physically bigger
- In the future maybe it would be interesting, but definitely not any time soon. - We're more interesting in expanding the accessory options for the 60HE
- New Alumaze60 cases: pink and white
- Showed off last stream, now available for purchase and immediate shipment!
- New wrist rest colors to match, now available!
- New Take Control keycap colors finished getting manufactured, on the way to our warehouse, for sale soon
- Blue and Navy
- Pink and white
- White and black
- ISO-DE black and yellow
- New detachable cable colors
- Pink, white, blue, purple
- New spring packs are en route, for sale soon!
Switches?
- Lekker v2s
- Feel great, sound great, are great!
- When will they be for sale for 60HE? Not sure. Ask again next stream.
- Jades
- Other switches?
Our team is actively investigating how we can support as many 3rd party switches as possible. More to come!
It is for most I’d presume. It just could be so much more.
the whole reason the founder campaigns exist is to not use kickstarter
lol maybe one day but rn in terms of 60HE they’re just focused on more accessories
I’d expect another layout.
as it stands an 8k 60he is pretty unlikely. I could maybe see an entire hardware and design refresh like a 60he 2 with 8k polling.
Yeah there is no other competitor even remotely close here. I'm very happy with where wootility is at and where it's already going.
but im assuming that would be way down the line, I have a feeling wooting wants to explore more size options and continue working on their current device offerings.
I’m sure they’ll fulfill their 60HE contracts and obligations then move on to the 8k version
I’m not delusional. Just excited lol
Also an 8K 60HE would cost more than the current 60HEs
Yeah that’s fine
$2m on kickstar and the price is $250 now
Or founders campaign
Whatever same thing you know what I’m talking about lol
Everyone else charging the same already and doing it half ass
Wooting products command a premium
Best out
like I said I feel like if an 8k 60he were to happen it wouldnt be slapping 8k onto the 60he (mainly because that is impossible), but rather an entirely new device alongside the existing 60he.
Maybe make em both sure
Idk whatever’s best lol
It definitely would be a completely new PCB design
Exactly
theres also the question of it being necessary to have 8k polling
That’s not a question.
For marketing it is.
its nice sure, but I personally wouldnt upgrade to a 60he 8k
^
thats fair, but would wooting really make enough money to justify making a 60he 8k?
I would say if it was just a relaunch of the 60he with 8k polling rate I would switch
Oh I really believe so. A few have said they bought the 80HE for it’s performance over the 60HE despite not liking the layout much.
lol it’s very tempting for me
That is a good question but let’s look at how many people were skeptical of the 80He because of its layout and what not , yet tons of people bought it because it has true 8K
I just can’t do the formafactor so haven’t
yeah but thats quite literally impossible due to size restraints. it would almost have to be an entirely new device.
But 8k mouse and 8k keyboard is the dream
Performance drainer setup
I do think a gasket mounted 8k 65HE would be a killer add even though I'm a 60 lover
Whatever the smallest possible layout that includes 8k is, that’s what they should do
Holy
This
Insta buy
gasket mount 60he pls
Yeah I’m down for that
Just for the 65% layout
is rappy snappy still under development? and will it come to the 60HE?
And I know wooting would do gasket for it
Yes and yes
I highly doubt they’d release a 60HE 8K before a new layout.
Its hard to really know how many people out of the thousands of founders tho
This feels more likely than a upgraded 60HE
I love my 60he but that would go so hard. not sure if theres enough room for a gasket mount tho, bezels might look off.
I mean the 80he isnt really that much bigger than a 60he so its probably possible
It’s possible, it’s wooting we’re talking about
The larger bezels are due to the desire to decrease typing angle
There are alternatives
true
has anyone had trouble with the standoff screws in the wooting alumaze 60 ?
Bezels on a gasket mounted board? How so?
at minimum I'd expect 5ish years until we get the 60he 2: now with 8k. (if ever)
Probably depends on how well the 80HE does compared to the 60HE.
Idk about that long but yeah
I mean, the 80he as somewhat been marketed as the newest gen of wooting products, so its not impossible we get another 60% wooting keyboard in this "new gen."
Technology moves fast
well it took wooting 2ish years for the 80he so im assuming another 2ish years for the next keyboard, then some extra time for a new 60% keyboard
now wooting is only growing these days so it could be entirely possible the next keyboard comes much sooner compared to the 80he
plus making the 80he came with trying to solve new issues with a new MCU and gasket mount, theoretically they should have the knowledge from the 80he for the next keyboard
Ah yeah yeah
65HE 8K gasket mount in 2.5 years
See yall there
👋
maybe sooner than that tbh
80he was also a brand new layout so it required more designing
if a 65he was just the usual 65% layout it would probably be a bit quicker
so I'd say maybe 1.5-2 years?
so if we do get a 60he 2 down the line it could be within the next 4 or so years.
imagine we come back in 6 months to see the annoucement of the 65he
I thought it was 37
since its the world's most popular random number
Is it
I believe it
Wootroller?
wooting controller
We don’t not
ah the veritasium vid
So you’re basically saying we do
the mouse market is saturated enough
typo 😔
Lmao
I was thinking of we dont and we do not
Yeah but no one would be better than the Woomouse
I guess? all mice these days use the same sensors.
Yall ever listen to Pop Smoke? We need the Woo
its just who can be the lightest and not have awful QC
rappy snapy mouse
Rapid Trigger Mouse
how would that even work
Wooting will make it work
but mouse buttons arent even linear
that seems like it would be a step in the wrong direction
Nah man, whichever direction Wooting steps, is the right direction
true

while they're at it, they should make it use magnets
like instead of an optical sensor
The WooSkates
the mousepad has magnetic sensors and the mouse has magnets in it
the proprietary woopad that is required for the mouse to work
and the woophone
Yes we need the iWooPhone
we need an enitre woocosystem
i want this to make the mouse float https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWojYBhvfjM
With the use of liquid nitrogen, the YBCO compound can be cooled until it becomes a superconductor, and a superconductor placed in a magnetic field has amazing behaviors.
Please activate the subtitles to get more info on the experiment.
Thanks to supermagnete.com for providing me with these magnets for free. Here the products used in this vide...
Ahh yes WooTube
lmao
imagine the flicks
the wootalink
(only works with wooting keyboards, woomice, woomonitors, and wootrollers)
really gotta nail in the woocosystem
would only be logical to have a wooting graphics card
WooterSupply
wootssd
they should note this down
fr
I mean the names can’t be any worse than how most of these companies name switches
im looking at you akko v3 cream yellow
Wooting mousepads could be neat. Like if they could create better quality pads like artisan that’d be sick.
Or desk pads in general.
Unfortunately I refuse to buy / try anything Outemu.
The Obscuras would like to have a talk with you
Also, the outemu's are the only reverse polarity switches that work decently with the Wooting at this point. So at least they have that going for them
Yeah that’s the only reason I bought some lol
What I said before about the browns wasn’t just my batch, another who tried them had the same issue. They are extremely hard to get in/out the switch plate as they for some reason are fat. Only goes for the black bottoms. Can’t even get them in any of my metal switch openers. 😅
boba u4’s?
Obscura and Boba
Yes, but it’s more correct to call them yiqian. They just use the housing from outemu. Here are their characteristics that the seller sent me
Yiqian (S):
Brown-tactile (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/r8kyqoI.png , https://i.imgur.com/TpxIWdN.png
Blue-tactile (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/rGVKuUx.png
Red (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/jrEjxYx.png
Pink (40/60gf) : https://i.imgur.com/TaelrqD.png
The red ones are poorly made. Spring is magnetic to the stem, no lubrication at all, bad magnet, loud and rattling. Best never to get one.
The pink ones are better made. Got lube, good magnet, double-stage spring.
But unfortunately I did not find any information about tactile switches. Maybe someone has one, write, it will be interesting to read.
I would rather call these ones outemu.

Put <> around the links
I know, I just forgot

cable ?
Why do you say they arent Outemu?
Nightcrawler
There is no information that this is done at the Outemu factory. the original source where these switches are sold is Yiqian on taobao, that’s even the name of their company in China. This is written in Chinese characters on the screenshots
and where did you get it ?
WiredIn
东芜市益谦电子有限公司 - Dongwu Yiqian Electronics Co., Ltd.
and did you know cable design like this but cheaper ? because 90+ all cable i didn't have the money and i need to save it for a new computer
like 30-40€ max
For a design like that? No, I do not, sorry
np but a staright and how can i say this not flat tip, that fit with my tofu 60 redux
Oh your message wasnt clear, you're saying those specific Outemu are manufactured by Dongwu Yiqian Electronics
Have you looked at Wooting Cable Kits?
https://shop75219170227y6.1688.com/page/index.html see for yourself. this is the original source. they don't sell any other switches other than these.

Something like these maybe?
Also if you wait, they have some more colors coming out iirc
me i like the black and like they have the straight one but i would like to buy it for 40€ or more cheaper if it's possible
Yes I understand now. Also, you are correct that the manufacturer for the clear pink/red/blue/brown is different from the opaque pink. Magnets strengths/type/size are also significantly different
Yep, and besides, I have pink and red ones on my hands. the red ones are simply disgusting, well, I described them.
Anything cheaper than that might not work with the wooting board very well especially if using tachyon mode, I’m not sure of any brands that make them in that price range
Can check out ChubbyTech @hot raven
Oof maybe not
They don’t have great reviews from about a year ago
I have the clear pink and opaque pink and you can see the difference
and the texture i don't think i will like it but thx for your help i think i will just take the cable of wooting sad that is 54.33 but ok ok ^^
They're seriously different. As far as I know, the ones on the left are actually better. And did I find the right information about the left one, it has a south polarity, right?
Yeah, I think the wooting cable is your best option in terms of price and guaranteed compatibility without breaking the bank on a custom cable
Yes, both are south pole
any new information about lekker 2.0?
The ones on the left seem to max out the Wooting sensor too early, so I wouldnt say they are better. I'll be testing again tonight with new firmware and then checking for fit and sound.
Well, they were not originally made for wooting at all. And as far as I know wooting has no precise calibration on pressing as it is done in other keyboards and therefore it is very difficult to use any third-party switches. I've seen these pink ones in redragon m61 , e-yooso keyboards.
Wooting is working on firmware to support as many 3rd party switches as possible, even reverse polarity. There is beta firmware available if you wish to experiment and Wooting's switch calibration is among the best out there (especially with the newer firmware)
You'll pardon me, but I don't have any wooting devices, I use others, but I have a bunch of different switches 🙂 So on the new version will calibration be available when pushing to the end of the switch stroke, or will wooting add each switch to the list of supported switches independently?
It already calculates at the beginning of the press and the end of the press but they will also be adding a "switch selector" feature to the firmware as well.
If i switch to the Gateron Magnetic Jades do I have to do anything in wootility since they have a 3.6 bottom out
Okay thanks for the reply! I just didn't quite understand why that pink switch was triggering earlier, so I thought the wooting still didn't have calibration of the start and end of the switch.
Raptors lol
Yeah
But 20u and jades clear them
Real
HE Oil kings when
Yes
Come on gateron
True that works too lmao
Can someone please let me know where to lube the jade switches? Same process as leckers or not the housing on these?
@harsh dove
Same
Housing, stem and spring?
Yeah
Awesome thanks
And should I wash factory lube off also?
No
Easy, cheers bro
Dont even bother 😂
#🔧│keyboard_modding message aren’t good either, just got them for tactility. Did yours fit the switch plate well?
you have a lot of things that don't fit the switch plate
silence (I tried em in the ATK first which was tighter than)
Color way is nice!
It could look great too. Not a fan of it with that color case personally.
A purple case perhaps?
GMK Lime doesn't go with anything but it was a blind bag buy haha
Im@thinking of replacing the red keys on the GMK Sumi with either gold or more hot pink
What do you think
Surprisingly green does look good on purple though, you're right. Zooted on the Salvation
Nah leave it. I'm grabbing a Bauer Lite IRL version at Keycon and the red would look good with it
mine look like jolly ranchers
cant find that in the EU anymore unfortunately
Snagged it off Ebay for 163 w/ shipping including. No novelties tho. Just base + hiragana
Willing to part ways?
Nope

Wanna see what it would look like with gold ESC / enter / Spacebars
Can confirm as an owner of this set
Red Bauer Lite is sex
There was a guy on Reddit selling sumi he took over from project keyboard for “cheap”
horny on main will lead to disasters
So if you can cancel your eBay order maybe
163 sounds like a disaster on ebay
@solid plume see if you can cancel eBay order and buy from link I sent you
Can get base hiragana and novelties for $153 shipped
I’m messages him but got no reply.
Messaged*
inb4 scam
I still need to buy this set
Was on happy hour sale last week
And you didn't tell me
symbiote
this could work on white
what brand/set is this? ive been thinking i might want to do purple for my 80 when it gets here
thats just for the base too
gmk purple nights
Didin't you also want Royal Cadet or sumn?
The purp version
not the red
i wanted royal cadet because it was on sale but then I was like meh
Ah okay lol
would rather have Hangul sublegends instead of cadet ones again
as I own crimson cadet
i think im only person who is not a fan of that set
and i wont get the enter style caps
but im weird in the sense i like stuff to match match so would need a pale purple board for it
symbiote?
I get that.
Basically why I haven't bought it yet
yeah i getcha
I'm the same way, I wish I could get color samples of things because It bothers me when things are kinda off.
yeah i'd sample all gmk sets if possible
Wooting Space Lavender Case when?
especially when it's stupid shit like you get a white set and actually its king of beige or grey, motherfucker, this isn't white.
I shouldn't have to guess, gimme the hex code so I can see what it looks like lmao
Wooting X GMK collab when?
I was surprised when I got my Metropolis and they were navy not black lol
Is the Wooting software open source?
Lot of people think that lol
I know
I knew when I first saw em theyd be navy
oh yeah metropolis bamboozled a couple of people
i love it with my silver board
this how i have mine
I love them, I got a navy freebird just for them and I have the Rama novelty too
Yeah its still a good set
