vale swan
#

i did mine with the thick wooting foam from the module

#

salvation

#

with the leaf spring mount

mystic pumice
#

How effective is the bandaid mod for the 60HE?

#

and is it still possible with the + module?

vale swan
#

the one where you put shit under the stabs?

#

i'd say it makes them worse

#

its good for plate mounts tho not on the spacebar

#

no

#

plate foam kinda ruins it

#

gummy o ring is already way quieter with these HE switches

#

i hated the pc plate for this config too, i used carbon fiber but i prefer louder higher pitched keyboards

#

if you want to use plate foam do not use the silicone pad

#

it is impossible to gummy o ring that

#

even the plate foam is pretty tight

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

the silicone pad is pretty good actually imo

mystic pumice
#

I think I like the sound of the black foam more (because it thocks) than the silicone pad (it mutes a few frequencies and make it a bit more clacky)

vale swan
#

it somehow makes it quieter but also higher pitched

vale swan
#

no foam at all is the best to me even in tray mount

#

no matter the plate(except for steel)

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

thats fine

mystic pumice
#

I may switch between them quite often

vale swan
#

ur keyboard

#

nobody should tell you how to build it

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

you build it how you like it

mystic pumice
#

I am just stating that I am surprised how much I like the silicone pad since it sounds a bit different than what I normally go after

vale swan
#

the tofu is pretty versatile for modding tbh

mystic pumice
#

The only metal case I have is my keychron Q7

vale swan
#

if i still had the 2nd 60he i would've tried some more shit in the tofu

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

the alumaze has a metallic tone to it

#

the tofu doesnt with the brass weight

#

i have them both

mystic pumice
#

How would I get rid of the hollow metal like sound of my Q7?

vale swan
#

im not sure how the Q7 is built but you could either do polyfill/tapemod or some kinda foam or if its built like the old Q1's you could do a force break mod

#

i know it sounds insane putting tape on the back of the pcb, but it does so much

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

ye thats what I do

#

my wooting in the salvation has absolutely no foam in it just 1 layer of tape

mystic pumice
#

But I heard electrical tape is best for tape mod right?

vale swan
#

i use paper tape

#

people here also use moleskin tape

mystic pumice
#

Moleskin tape is the bandaid like tape right?

vale swan
#

pads?

#

oh those

#

ye i heard abt those

#

geon has some really cool shit

#

i wish i owned a frog mini too

#

you can get a custom plate and put a 60he in it

mystic pumice
#

Force breaking will probably have to be normal shelf stuff

#

Not to many options for that stuff in EU or I have to spend an arm and leg for shipping and potentially duty tax as well

vale swan
#

look for something like this

mystic pumice
#

So normal tape and not stuff specifically for modding

vale swan
#

should be easy to find

#

deltakeyco has some geon shit on their store

mystic pumice
#

I can proabbaly just go to a construction shop and ask for 0.5mm tape

vale swan
#

that should work

#

right those guys too

mystic pumice
#

Keygem is EU?

vale swan
#

deltakeyco is from france

mystic pumice
#

Nice aight

#

UK usually have tax since brexit

vale swan
#

well UK isnt in the EU anymore

harsh dove
#

Top of the morning yall

mystic pumice
#

Not after the tax usually

mystic pumice
vale swan
vale swan
#

nah no shot

#

atleast i hope you actually main them

#

they look to good to not be mained

mystic pumice
stray tiger
#

If Cam hated them as much as he pretends, he would but he secretly loves them

vale swan
#

how can you not love those

#

they look insanely good

#

where did you get those btw

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

i might cop them

harsh dove
mystic pumice
#

Gawd Dayum

#

They look goooood

vale swan
#

a real shame they arent GMK but still very nice

mystic pumice
#

I bet an arm and leg it has no Nordic layout

harsh dove
#

They haha they are 1.5mm thick PBT tho

stray tiger
#

His room lighting is off, here are the real colors

vale swan
#

do you have a link for these or the name?

harsh dove
#

Yeah my lighting is a bit yellow/pink

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

ye my lighting is off too

mystic pumice
#

Mine is just a bit more on the yellow tint instead of clinic white

vale swan
#

thats the advantage of a big screen, put that bitch on white and you have enough light

harsh dove
#

Took out some saturation

#

Lil bit better

vale swan
#

that poor tofu just chilling there in the 2nd shot

fluid ravine
#

School cooking my brain cells

#

Sup guys

vale swan
#

not much

fluid ravine
#

Hi pops

mystic pumice
fluid ravine
stray tiger
vale swan
#

how can you read that

fluid ravine
vale swan
#

27 bucks for those really

vale swan
#

i was expecting more like 50

#

they look pretty decent

#

hmm might be a cop

stray tiger
vale swan
#

ah

fluid ravine
#

Yeah screw gmk

vale swan
#

they support multiple layouts too nice

fluid ravine
#

Cat caps better

harsh dove
vale swan
#

ye cheap shit is getting surprisingly good these days

fluid ravine
#

Fr

#

Makes me happi

vale swan
#

its a shame im too into the GMk sound profile especially the spacebar

#

these would be fun tho atleast to try and i have a 2nd board i could put them on

mystic pumice
#

I want a symetrical keycap set like XDA for my Keychron Q7 because the keys that are supposed to be between the letter keys and the numpad are random heights because of the weird layout

fluid ravine
#

Alr abt to leave for PE
Gonna play volleyball reeeeee

vale swan
#

dont get hit this time

fluid ravine
#

Cya when I get home sanic

vale swan
#

hf

mystic pumice
#

Yes but with Keychron Pixel Universe keycaps

vale swan
#

thats a really weird layout

#

idk why you wouldnt do an FRL TKL at that point

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

thats fine

#

im into weird shit too

#

tho this is a bit too weird for me

#

keychron makes some good shit tho

mystic pumice
#

I could have gotten the more standard Q1 but thought "fuck it" and got the weird ass Q7

vale swan
#

their Q1 and Q2 and their variants are really good

#

i love how that Q3 Pro looks to death ngl

#

isnt their Q1 HE supposed to have dropped by now?

mystic pumice
mystic pumice
vale swan
#

i wont pick that up, but I'd love to see how it does

#

especially sound wise

stray tiger
#

Ive owned a V1, Q1 and Q4. I also have a Q1 HE coming in about 3 weeks

vale swan
#

ah nice

#

it should probably sound the best

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

I wish it accepted Jades

mystic pumice
#

I only own 2 keyboard

vale swan
#

i own more than or well i owned more but ye

#

im more of a try shit on my own stuff before ordering more kinda vibe

#

i prob took apart my 2 wootings over 200 times since i had them

mystic pumice
#

I techically own 3 because I have my non+ module but I am giving it away to a friend whom is getting a gamer PC sooner this month

#

My friend only needs a case

vale swan
#

i just sold my non +

stray tiger
vale swan
#

i see

#

i think they use KS37B switches

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

the boog also seems interesting but apparently it had a lot of broken shit

stray tiger
vale swan
mystic pumice
#

All the others are either not as good or still lag behind in terms of latency

vale swan
stray tiger
stray tiger
vale swan
#

what changed this time

mystic pumice
stray tiger
#

B vs C. C has no stem protusion

vale swan
#

would be fun to try a plateless config with the KS37 type switches as i think with that thick ass tube it should stay in place

stray tiger
#

Tube is now gone

vale swan
#

oh damn

#

i just saw ye

#

so in theory these should work on the 60he

#

if we get reverse polarity

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

the direction of the magnet in the switch iirc

fluid ravine
vale swan
fluid ravine
#

(▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)ᴵ ˢᵉᵉ

vale swan
#

these should be fun to compare against the KS20U

stray tiger
# vale swan so in theory these should work on the 60he

They will work, they just might not work well. Almost every reverse polarity switch we have tested so far maxes out the Wooting sensor between 3-3.5mm. This is likely due to the increased magnet flux strength required for boards that use the offset integrated sensor compared to the more expensive inline separate sensor that Wooting uses.

vale swan
#

i see

#

i mean either way I dont think im swapping off Jades

#

but nice to see new options

mystic pumice
#

I love my jades

fluid ravine
mystic pumice
#

I may get the dual rail switch at some point too

fluid ravine
#

The one you told us to test the other week?

vale swan
#

we have a beta firmware for reverse polarity?

stray tiger
fluid ravine
#

pepeyes w simon

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

these in theory shouldnt sound too different from the KS20Us tho right? these KS37Cs

fluid ravine
#

Prob

stray tiger
#

Im betting they are identical. In fact, based on Keychrons email to me that they are moving the sensor location, they MIGHT even be the same exact switch as a KS-20U but with the magnet flipped

shadow fern
#

Jades are BIS right now for HE switches

vale swan
#

if you want a high pitched switch ye

stray tiger
#

Im actually rocking the peaches KS-20U's daily over my Jades

vale swan
#

I still might try the KS20Us

mystic pumice
#

Non HE question but have anyone tried the Gateron Smoothie linear switches and what are your opinion on them?

vale swan
shadow fern
#

Sand they aren't that good imo

#

they are smooth but not like the typical Gat smooth

vale swan
#

i have jades with cf plate in the salvation atm and i really love em. a little loud but quite nice

mystic pumice
shadow fern
#

I have the KS20U, they feel the same as any other open bottom HE switch.

stray tiger
#

We also have these to test. Maybe we can check them out tonight on stream

mystic pumice
#

but I need to learn how to lube first

shadow fern
#

Not a fan of Outemu lol

vale swan
#

these should rattle way less or not at all and the stem should be the most stable

stray tiger
#

I didn't like the other Outemus we tried but these are a different material so who knows

vale swan
#

box stem for sure is interesting

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

these are 4mm travel right?

stray tiger
#

Yes

vale swan
#

nice

#

it'd be boring to get 3.5mm again

#

not that i hate that

stray tiger
#

Here is how they compare to the Outemus we tested 2 weeks ago

vale swan
spiral anvil
#

DHL really got my package here in one day

#

Wow

vale swan
spiral anvil
#

Think so?

vale swan
#

if so then thats normal

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

if its the normal DHL then its extremely impressive

stray tiger
vale swan
#

im young and dumb

stray tiger
mystic pumice
vale swan
#

thats why i have 3 cases, had 2 pcbs and 3 types of switches

mystic pumice
shadow fern
#

I have both Lekkers, Ks20, Raptor HE, Jades stock, Jades w/ 70g springs. Jades are BIS. The dual rail thing is a bit of a gimmick. Tons of other MX dual rail switches too.

vale swan
#

ye it is a bit of a gimmick

#

but still cool they tried it

shadow fern
#

for sure

vale swan
#

i just wish they would drop prices on these things a bit

shadow fern
#

I will say the Roller Linear MX switches are wildly good.

vale swan
#

the KS20U oranges are 65 bucks on aliexpress, the white ones harvested from the prebuilt are 40 on ymdk's ali store

shadow fern
#

The stems have megnets in them (not for HE) but they hold little ball bearings on the stems - 100% the most stable switch I've evr used

mystic pumice
# shadow fern I will say the Roller Linear MX switches are wildly good.
KBDfans® Mechanical Keyboards Store

ROLLER LINEAR SWITCHES The inspiration of the design is to capture a brand-new level of smoothness and minimize the stem wobble. It features 8-ball bearings that secure the stem movement, transitioning from face-to-face to point-to-point contact. This would change and reduce friction, thereby increasing the smoothness o

shadow fern
#

Yes

mystic pumice
#

May try them for my Q7

shadow fern
#

zero stem wobbly in any direction, glide incredible stock, feel incredible stock, it's pretty shocking.

#

I bought a ton when they dropped, they sold out in a day

mystic pumice
#

Anyone have a suggestion for a silent tactile switch (non HE)

And is there any Tactile HE switches out there? have not found any

shadow fern
#

KBDfans is trying to find better ways to produce them before they release them again and so they can send them out to vendors so they can be sold in more places

#

they are pretty extensive to produce

#

No tactile HE

#

HE has always been about linear movement. In due time I'm sure tactile will come out but not atm.

vale swan
#

idk if tactile HE would fair that well

#

linear clicky HE would go hard

#

there are linear clicky switches for MX already

mystic pumice
shadow fern
#

ya that would be wild

#

The Melodic switches aren't bad

mystic pumice
#

But does anyone know some good silent tactile switches? prefeably no loud click but a light one is okay

vale swan
#

the best silent tactiles are probably topre

#

but thats HHKB stuff

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

hapy hacker keyboard

#

its sort of a 60% but really cut down

mystic pumice
#

Only in ANSI?

vale swan
#

well where would the backspace go with ISO and yes

#

ISO would be wack on this

mystic pumice
#

Damn

#

I wanna learn ANSI in the future but I am already in the middle of learning how to use a 60% from a 100

vale swan
#

take it slowly

#

i went from a full size to a 65 took me about 2 weeks

#

then again from a 65 to 60

#

a 64% percent would be ideal tbh

mystic pumice
#

The lack of arrow keys (having to use fn) really threw me off for the first few months

vale swan
#

i see

#

this is 64 if ur wondering

#

its a 60% but with arrow keys

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

much smarter use of space

mystic pumice
#

One of the reasons I went with Q7 is because is is small and still have arrow keys

vale swan
#

i just replaced rshift ralt and rctrl with my arrow keys as i never use those keys

vale swan
#

the rshift in particular is the most useless key for me

mystic pumice
#

And I like to use the extra ins, end, del, home, pgup, pgdown bottons for macro

vale swan
#

then you would've have been served much better by a 65%

mystic pumice
#

Does Keychron have a 65%?

vale swan
#

the Q2 and Q2 Pro

#

you could also try the kbd67 lite if you can find one

harsh dove
#

👀

mystic pumice
#

Their website sells all the parts of the KBD67 but not as the kit

vale swan
#

also your n and m key are swapped

crimson sky
#

(it was bait)

harsh dove
#

Oops

vale swan
#

you said to criticize you in the stream

#

so im going for it

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

also if i zoom in 500% i can see dust

#

absolutely unacceptable

harsh dove
#

It’s working

polar girder
#

Nice

mystic pumice
vale swan
mystic pumice
vale swan
#

well not rlly a monitor but there is so much heat coming off of this thing

harsh dove
#

lol I’m cleaning my pc / setup this weekend actually

vale swan
#

prob why there is so much stuff

#

i should clean the fans on my radiators

#

good call

mystic pumice
#

My PC is too new to need a cleaning

vale swan
#

i usually like to clean it every 3-5 weeks the pc that is

mystic pumice
stray tiger
vale swan
#

tho i dont really have to, the gpu is still running pretty cool and i dont play games

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

thats fair

#

i already had mine since the 2080ti days so i just kept it for the silence

mystic pumice
#

Nice

vale swan
#

brand new i probably wouldnt do it, the gpu coolers are too big to be shit

mystic pumice
#

I upgraded from a 1070 to a 4070
i7 4770k to an i5 13400F

vale swan
#

the cpu will run hot anyways

#

thats a nice upgrade

#

i dont plan on changing anytime soon or well until gta 6 comes on PC

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

its not just tdp

#

its also the chip density and voltages and stuff like that

mystic pumice
#

But I am upgrading it to a 13600KF soon

vale swan
#

how good your contact is with the cooler

#

if you got unlucky and the IHS was soldered poorly

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

my 5800X3D runs extremely hot with 2 560 radiators on it for example

mystic pumice
#

I know a hell of a lot more about PC's than keyboards. I have build PC's for many years but keyboards are a new hobbie for me

vale swan
#

well i was the same

#

but now i feel like its about equal

mystic pumice
#

I may actually get an Intel GPU in the future just to try them out

#

But a cheaper one

vale swan
#

unlike keyboards i don't really like trying shit out on my main PC

mystic pumice
#

Because I already have a 4070

vale swan
#

i like my pc to be always stable and to perform its best while staying as quiet as possible

vale swan
#

i might switch to intel again for cpu next time

#

these amd x3d cpus run extremely hot and arent really that much faster for 4k gaming especially

#

amd is also pretty inefficient in idle due to the i/o die on the thing

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

its not that its slower, its just a 1 trick pony cpu

#

the 14900K can match it 95% of time for 4k gaming while running at the same temp(for gaming) and has 3x the cores which are useful for decompression for example

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

it is slower because of the clocks against its normal non 3d counterparts

#

the 5800x3d against the 5800x loses 400mhz which is huge

mystic pumice
#

Hmmmmm true

vale swan
#

the 7800x3d against the 7700x loses even more but on Zen 4 its a bit less important

#

anyways wrong channel and im tired anyway

mystic pumice
#

Never really tried to many AMD CPU's and I have yet to try an X3D chip

vale swan
#

prob shouldnt talk abt gpus in this

mystic pumice
#

lmao its the modding channel they cool with anything dawg

vale swan
#

ye sounds fair

vale swan
#

too late into the generation and they all have their problems

mystic pumice
#

I like to have a least 2 or 3 generations of that tech before adopting full time

vale swan
#

7800x3d is shit for anything besides gaming
7950x3d has issues manually swapping ccds so you have to do it urself and runs extremely hot due to chip density
7900x3d is just garbage

vale swan
#

went to a 5950X and it was very good

#

but it was bottlenecking my gpu so swapped to this

mystic pumice
#

And selling my 13400f to a friend

vale swan
#

i got about 20-40% better perf on the x3d vs my 5950x

vale swan
#

they didnt

#

derbauer still had a lot of issues

harsh dove
#

Basically the 7950x3d gets the exact same performance as 7800x3d in gaming

vale swan
#

in his 14900k review

#

in some games u still have to manually set the ccd

harsh dove
#

The recent video from HUB showed it to be pretty good

vale swan
#

i saw that but still even if thats fixed

#

the cpu runs so fucking hot

#

for 160 watts in full load it does 90c that is insane

harsh dove
#

It’s designed too lol

vale swan
#

my 5950X at 220 watts with PBO did 70c

vale swan
harsh dove
#

Yeah the X3D have a tjmax of 89c and the non-3D is 95 iirc

vale swan
#

ye

#

the 5800X3D already runs hot on my side

harsh dove
vale swan
#

it gets to abt 70c during gaming while pulling 60-80 watts

#

my 9900K at 200 watts was doing less than that

#

but ik why it does it

mystic pumice
#

My 13400F at max load only goes 68-72 celcius with my Be Quiet shadow rock 3

vale swan
#

the 14900K isnt a good solution to my problem either because in full core it sucks a lot of power

#

im kinda stuck with my 5800X3D for now

#

not that thats a bad thing

#

it does really well with a 4090 at 4k

#

i just wish for more cores for decompression

harsh dove
#

14th gen is lame

#

lol

vale swan
#

it is pretty lame but its basically a 13900K

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

which was a very good cpu

harsh dove
#

Yeah

#

12th and 13th gen were good

mystic pumice
harsh dove
#

Yep

vale swan
#

its a 13900K overclocked

#

the 14900KS is really sus tho

#

its 1% faster than the 7950x3d while pulling over twice the power in this game even tho they still run the same temp

mystic pumice
#

In some places here in Denmark 14 gen is like 20 bucks cheaper than their 13 gen counterparts

#

But only some places

#

Which I find weird

vale swan
#

blue line is power

#

the others are fps

#

i find that pretty weird

harsh dove
vale swan
#

1% faster for 3x the power is some pretty weird behavior lmao

vale swan
#

i care about efficiency

harsh dove
#

Same

#

That’s what I tried to say

untold wigeon
#

.

vale swan
#

those 7980X threadrippers pull 350 watts but they are extremely efficient

harsh dove
#

But they were stuck in their opinion lol

vale swan
#

and very easy to cool

mystic pumice
vale swan
harsh dove
#

Right

vale swan
#

AMD still runs hot due to how small the dies are and its hard to move the heat away fast

#

intel runs hot because it runs some insane voltages stock and has a lot of cores plus the arhitecture is old

#

also they have that contact issue and bending in the socket

mystic pumice
#

Raises performace AND lowers temps

vale swan
#

if we can make that argument i can turn on eco mode on the 7950X with 1 click and it'd still crushes it

#

its that kinda vibe

harsh dove
vale swan
#

well ye

#

im talking abt those

harsh dove
#

Ah

vale swan
#

12900K 13900K 14900K and KS

harsh dove
#

I use those contact frames

vale swan
#

the cpus b4 that are irrelevant

harsh dove
#

When I had mine

vale swan
#

yeah i know them

harsh dove
#

I also have one for my am5 just because it looks good

vale swan
#

derbauer delided recent intel cpus and found about a 7-8c reduction which is kinda crazy

harsh dove
#

Even tho you can’t see it

#

I know it’s there

vale swan
#

did u have any issues with ur am5 shit?

harsh dove
#

Nah

mystic pumice
#

Undervolting my 13400F was a huge performance boost for me

vale swan
#

i heard people had long boot times

#

and shit with ram

harsh dove
#

During that whole motherboard fiasco I manually changed my voltages

vale swan
harsh dove
#

Never had an issue

vale swan
#

u know just a small mistake

harsh dove
#

And the boot times were a little long but nothing you couldn’t speed up a bit in BIOS and even without that, it wasn’t that bad

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

its normal for the cpu to delid itself in the socket

#

thanks asus

#

but also thanks asus for the good working bios, i love asus bios on my b550 board

harsh dove
#

Yeah those exploded dies were crazy to see on Gamers Nexus

vale swan
#

i dont think too many people had the issue

#

but ye

#

it def degraded the cpus tho

harsh dove
#

Yeah lot of people got refunds and got new CPUs even if there’s wasn’t affected

vale swan
#

i want intel to try x3d

#

i feel like they could make it work better

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

b550 is amd just fyi

#

so not comparable

vale swan
mystic pumice
#

Not that I can remember

vale swan
#

meanwhile i ran a 220 oc'd cpu on a $80 motherboard

mystic pumice
#

I have not checked Ram OC tho

vale swan
#

on amd

vale swan
#

classic intel

harsh dove
#

There B boards suck compared to AMDs

vale swan
#

yeah amds are pretty much the same as the flagship one

harsh dove
#

Better off with Z690-790

vale swan
#

just less shit on it

#

i mean with a 14900k i'd go with z790 for sure

harsh dove
#

Yeah

vale swan
#

if you have like a 14400F or smth u wouldnt

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

yeah but does it limit it to a certain clock

harsh dove
vale swan
#

for example on 10th gen it was limiting it to 2666mhz

harsh dove
vale swan
#

while Z series had infinite

#

not that it mattered too much on a 10900K

harsh dove
#

Oh nvm

#

They allow full ram overclocking apparently

vale swan
#

i wonder how many people are still using an 11900K or bought one last minute and got absolutely ripped off

#

that one was such a trashcan cpu

#

performance regression in basically every way + price increase

mystic pumice
vale swan
#

Memory can be fully tuned on the B-chipsets nowadays. Only CPU multiplier OC doesn't work there.
The only thing is, RAM OC might be limited when you use a non-K CPU model, because a certain memory-controller-related voltage can't be raised with those CPUs.

mystic pumice

So cash is very limited

vale swan

ye that makes more sense

heat for me is a bigger issue

it gets really hot in my room due to this monitor

80HE - Progress updates

  • Now 3 weeks into the founder's campaign, 1 week to go. Where are we at?
        - Up through now, we've been rebalancing layout and model allocations to match real sales
        - But now with 3 weeks of data, we are locking it down and placing the first purchase order
        - After accounting for order cancellations and pushing B2B buyers into the second batch
            - First batch is 80% sold out across all layouts and models!
        - Also means that we've gotten data about which layouts and versions are popular, and which might not make the cut.
        - All of the prebuilt options will be available to purchase for the entire first and second batch!
            - Second batch is TWICE the size of the first batch.
        - Starting with the third batch, expect that some of the prebuilt models will not be available
            - This won't matter if you buy within the next month or two.
            - We'll give advanced warning!
  • How's the manufacturing plan going?
        - The first purchase order got placed today
        - We're on track to meet timelines!
        - More details to come about exact manufacturing timelines
  • Lots of people have asked about editing orders; changing cases, that kind of thing
        - This is really tough to handle on the backend; it's better to place a new order for what you do want, and have us cancel+refund the orginal
            - Saves time, which is worth the extra it costs in transaction costs

60HE - New batches, fulfillment, getting in stock

  • Bit by bit, we're more and more able to keep up with demand and keeping our keyboards in stock
        - ISO layout keyboards will be in stock and stay in stock
        - ANSI-US is a bit trickier
            - Next week we'll be in stock in the US
            - Two weeks we'll be in stock in the EU
        - Modules were in stock for over two months straight, but last couple weeks saw increase in sales particularly to China
        - We're producing more keyboards per month now than we ever have before
  • There have been a lot of questions about 8k 60HE.
        - This is not possible via software, it would only be possible via a new hardware change
        - To run at 8k takes a really beefy MCU, which costs a lot more
        - Would also require a hardware redesign, the MCU is physically bigger
        - In the future maybe it would be interesting, but definitely not any time soon.
  • We're more interesting in expanding the accessory options for the 60HE
        - New Alumaze60 cases: pink and white
            - Showed off last stream, now available for purchase and immediate shipment!
        - New wrist rest colors to match, now available!
        - New Take Control keycap colors finished getting manufactured, on the way to our warehouse, for sale soon
            - Blue and Navy
            - Pink and white
            - White and black
            - ISO-DE black and yellow
        - New detachable cable colors
            - Pink, white, blue, purple
        - New spring packs are en route, for sale soon!

Switches?
    - Lekker v2s
        - Feel great, sound great, are great!
        - When will they be for sale for 60HE? Not sure. Ask again next stream.
    - Jades
    - Other switches?
Our team is actively investigating how we can support as many 3rd party switches as possible. More to come!

Nuff said

#

Gotta do it eventually lolol

agile grove
harsh dove
#

lol maybe one day but rn in terms of 60HE they’re just focused on more accessories

tawdry tree
agile grove
#

as it stands an 8k 60he is pretty unlikely. I could maybe see an entire hardware and design refresh like a 60he 2 with 8k polling.

stray tiger
harsh dove
agile grove
#

but im assuming that would be way down the line, I have a feeling wooting wants to explore more size options and continue working on their current device offerings.

polar girder
#

I’m sure they’ll fulfill their 60HE contracts and obligations then move on to the 8k version

#

I’m not delusional. Just excited lol

harsh dove
#

Also an 8K 60HE would cost more than the current 60HEs

polar girder
#

Yeah that’s fine

#

$2m on kickstar and the price is $250 now

#

Or founders campaign

#

Whatever same thing you know what I’m talking about lol

#

Everyone else charging the same already and doing it half ass

#

Wooting products command a premium

#

Best out

agile grove
#

like I said I feel like if an 8k 60he were to happen it wouldnt be slapping 8k onto the 60he (mainly because that is impossible), but rather an entirely new device alongside the existing 60he.

polar girder
#

Maybe make em both sure

#

Idk whatever’s best lol

#

It definitely would be a completely new PCB design

harsh dove
#

The 65HE

#

8K

tawdry tree
#

agile grove
#

theres also the question of it being necessary to have 8k polling

polar girder
#

That’s not a question.

tawdry tree

tawdry tree

I highly doubt they’d release a 60HE 8K before a new layout.

agile grove

agile grove
#

I mean the 80he isnt really that much bigger than a 60he so its probably possible

harsh dove
#

It’s possible, it’s wooting we’re talking about

stray tiger

The larger bezels are due to the desire to decrease typing angle

#

There are alternatives

sonic vector
#

has anyone had trouble with the standoff screws in the wooting alumaze 60 ?

tawdry tree
agile grove
tawdry tree
harsh dove
#

Idk about that long but yeah

agile grove
#

I mean, the 80he as somewhat been marketed as the newest gen of wooting products, so its not impossible we get another 60% wooting keyboard in this "new gen."

harsh dove
#

Technology moves fast

tawdry tree
#

Old pic

#

😂

agile grove
#

now wooting is only growing these days so it could be entirely possible the next keyboard comes much sooner compared to the 80he

#

plus making the 80he came with trying to solve new issues with a new MCU and gasket mount, theoretically they should have the knowledge from the 80he for the next keyboard

harsh dove
#

65HE 8K gasket mount in 2.5 years

#

See yall there

#

👋

agile grove
#

80he was also a brand new layout so it required more designing

#

if a 65he was just the usual 65% layout it would probably be a bit quicker

#

so I'd say maybe 1.5-2 years?

#

so if we do get a 60he 2 down the line it could be within the next 4 or so years.

harsh dove

Wooting guys probably look at our conversation like…

# stray tiger Outemu has 2 tactile HE switches. Browns and Blues I believe

Yes, but it’s more correct to call them yiqian. They just use the housing from outemu. Here are their characteristics that the seller sent me
Yiqian (S):
Brown-tactile (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/r8kyqoI.png , https://i.imgur.com/TpxIWdN.png
Blue-tactile (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/rGVKuUx.png
Red (30/65gf) : https://i.imgur.com/jrEjxYx.png
Pink (40/60gf) : https://i.imgur.com/TaelrqD.png
The red ones are poorly made. Spring is magnetic to the stem, no lubrication at all, bad magnet, loud and rattling. Best never to get one.
The pink ones are better made. Got lube, good magnet, double-stage spring.

But unfortunately I did not find any information about tactile switches. Maybe someone has one, write, it will be interesting to read.

I would rather call these ones outemu.
