I have an old 80mm fan blowing on the GPU now and it keeps it around 55c when streaming but the old fan doesnt have PWN so its running full blast.

i've owned many gpus from both companies over the years, in the end when im playing games I never notice if I'm on an Nvidia gpu or AMD

FSR and VSR are absolutely abysmal in comparison

FS3 allows you to use upscaling in any DX11-12 game regardless of if the developer decided to implement it

static tendon

Having a tough time removing switches. Any suggestions? If I pull any harder I am probably gonna snap some of the switches

#

There was a suggestions in the past to remove the PCB or something. I want to make sure I’m understanding it correctly before attempting it

polar girder
#

Click both front and back little things then roll it to the back. Meaning kind of pull the front out first then up

pastel vigil
static tendon
#

Hearing some crunching noises there šŸ˜‚

Some switches come out pretty easy. Others are insanely difficult to remove. I’m sure I’ll break a couple of them along the way but I’m trying to see if there’s anything else I can try

polar girder
#

Yeah you didn’t do as I recommended

#

You’re just wobbling back and forth

#

Don’t pull up in the back at first. Just leave it in place while you roll it backwards and the front pops out. Then pull the whole thing up

#

Make sure to have both front and back little pieces pushed in fully

static tendon
#

Let me try again

static tendon
#

When I slowly wobble it, it seems to help more but still insanely difficult to remove

weary tree
#

remove the pcb

#

its way easier

tawdry tree
#

The plate is tight. If you unscrew the plate taking the switches out is a lot easier.

weary tree
#

cuz the top clips dont really move

static tendon
#

@weary tree or @tawdry tree so I removed all the screws for the PCB but it’s not coming off. Is there anything else I’m missing?

tawdry tree
#

You can lift up the plate from one side, bit by bit.

#

Shouldn’t take force to do it.

harsh dove
#

then separate switch plate from pcb

static tendon
tawdry tree
#

Are the keycaps still on?

static tendon
#

Finally

tawdry tree
#

You could look into getting TX’s switch puller. It puts pressure on the entire switch instead on just a small point. It works well for me. Some switches are still tough to take out but no undoable.

static tendon
#

Now try pulling some switches out again

static tendon
#

I’m using this one right now

tawdry tree
tawdry tree
#

Moment

static tendon
#

Kinda looks like mine. Has the same little prongs towards the bottom

tawdry tree
#

Yeah but with this you can’t ā€œover pressā€ it, just to the edge of the switch and then lift up or tilt.

static tendon
#

Hmm so with the PCB off, the switches don’t really come off any easier. I now get a bunch of flex out of the polycarbonate plate, very interesting. Very different from past keyboard builds

tawdry tree
#

Not even by pressing from the bottom?

static tendon
#

Anyway I actually think I prefer the L45s luckily. I won’t fully switch to the L60s switches. I wish I had like a L50s switch or something. Just a smidge heavier

tawdry tree
#

Did you lube them with superglue maybe? šŸ˜‰

static tendon
tawdry tree

The more you take them in and out the easier it’ll be the next time.

static tendon

Hopefully this shows it a bit

tawdry tree
tawdry tree
static tendon

Oh yeah for sure. Very helpful, thank you for the suggestions

tawdry tree
#

Yw! šŸ‘

static tendon
#

Again I think I like the L45s for now but if I do spring swap I’ll likely pull this apart again

#

I’m just gonna swap the silicone for the foam this time around

#

@harsh dove do your switches also pull out this way?

harsh dove
#

In terms of being that difficult? No

#

Never had that much issue even with PCB attached

static tendon
#

I think I’ll reach out to wooting explaining this issue. It’s like the tolerance is wayyyy too tight

#

There’s no way it’s normal

harsh dove
#

Which plate is it?

#

PC?

static tendon
#

Stock one too

harsh dove
#

Yeah idk, I have 4 Wooting PC plates, 2 black and 2 white, and haven't had tolerance issues

static tendon
#

Yeah, that’s certainly odd. I’ve taken apart switches before but not anywhere near this difficult. I’ve taken out about 10 of these switches so far and my fingers are aching from pulling them out

harsh dove
#

Very odd, and your switch puller looks similar to the Wooting one

I use the Wuque Studio puller

most important id say is lubing

yeah lubing the switches

i also did tape mod

is this the one i should get?

yeah those are the ones

can get them from other sources if you want

205g0 for switches

i have a little bit of 205g0 laying around but it is not enough for the entire keeb

Anyone know jade vs raptor lekker stem wobble? Which has less/is better?

#

Also, is there a switch and stem combo that can be less wobbly than raptor with lekker stem? Just so I know for the 80HE.

sage flicker

i might also just not be the best reference. imo the lekker switches as they are have no practically impactful wobble

tawdry tree
#

I’m not sure yet how long they have to be broken in for to make them smooth.

crimson sky
#

they are smooth from the getgo

#

the issue is tolerances are stupid tight

they loosen up slightly with a bit of use tho

sage flicker

glacial wind

lekker springs are prob the best stock gateron springs I have tried

aren't all springs the same? Haven't seen people talk quality of springs before.

Stem swapping 20Us with 20Ts is interesting. It’s very tight, very little stem wobble but the fat stem of the 20Us catches on the bottom housing of the 20Ts (and 20s too) resulting in an even shorter travel.

20U’s stem does not fit LTP/Raptor housings by the way.

You have to put the smallest bit of lube or else it gets stiff

harsh dove
#

If you want no wobble and don’t wanna take apart two sets of switches and lube them. Just get KS20u (Peaches) and call it a day. Way less work, same results, and imo even better than stem swapped raptors cause you don’t get the friction feel from tolerances being too tight

#

An KS20u are deeper than raptors if you’re going for that

crimson sky
#

tbh i'd rather have jades

for the closed bottom

Also

It seems Jades and 20s are exactly the same when it comes to stem wobble. I believed Jades had a bit less stem wobble at first but the 20U’s stem fits as tight in the Jade’s bottom housing as in the KS-20s.

#

Both top housings and stems are identical.

#

So I don’t think the Jades are tighter than KS-20s/Lekkers.

harsh dove
#

They are definitely tighter

(Jades > Lekkers)

Just take your finger/tweezers and wiggle the stem on both switches
