I have an old 80mm fan blowing on the GPU now and it keeps it around 55c when streaming but the old fan doesnt have PWN so its running full blast.
The rest of the office is a disaster atm. Trying to clean today
What is that desk pad? Iāve never seen one like that before. Is it textured?
It's just a felt deskpad to cover the desk surface to reduce sound echo/cancellation. I got it off etsy cut into the size I wanted.
I should have got the dark grey in hindsight
Fellow 560s enjoyer. Nice
Clean setup dude
Yeah those arc cards are perfect for second streaming PC
Yeah, but who buys amd gpus amirite
ppl who value their dollar
And value worse drivers as well as features
i've owned many gpus from both companies over the years, in the end when im playing games I never notice if I'm on an Nvidia gpu or AMD
Yeah DLSS, and DLDSR alone for me would make me never use a AMD gpu
FSR and VSR are absolutely abysmal in comparison
disagree
FS3 allows you to use upscaling in any DX11-12 game regardless of if the developer decided to implement it
Frame Gen bad in general tbh
Looks bad and input latency are horrid to me
Maybe in future will be good
Where'd you get those monitor stands? I want some that clamp to the desk like that.
Studio monitors* to clarify.
And DLSS can be injected into almost any game by that logic
I guess you're entitled to your opinion, personally i'd never be swayed to buy one thing or the other due to brand loyalty
If FSR and VSR were actually good Iād consider AMD
But they suck in all objective comparisons
Indeed it is
Damn, Are those intel gpu's that cheap if your looking at purely stream performance? haven't really given them a look at all. focused on others things atm That's a steal if u compare it to buying a 40xx series gpu.
55C when streaming that's hella good or your rooms just very cold too
Anybody know of any profiles similar to KAT?
Kinda hard to find colorways for KAT
Are you just wanting the scallop profile but with a cherry height?
Check out MTNU. It's a newer profile from GMK
GMK
Have they fixed their QC in the last couple years?
I remember hearing horror stories
LOL I said that same thing
I own roughly 30 sets and I've had maybe one issue. Plastic is plastic though and stuff does happen.
I have not tried the MTNU profile yet though
Looks close enough
Am I right that MTNU is basically a shorter SA?
You can read more here https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/13yh27f/new_gmk_profile_mtnu_launches_today/
Well more options doesn't hurt
It's also PBT instead of ABS as the norm for GMK so that will either make you happy or sad if you care at all
Happy happy
Ive never owned a single set of KAT but I did order a set from MKUltra and got screwed when he ripped everyone off. I also never got my GMK Nord set from him.
You didnt miss out imo
I have the first set which was just white blanks
They fall off every stab Iāve ever used easily, and just kind of meh overall
Well I missed out on my money lol
Fair enough
You should try the peaches on some of the other plates and see what you think too. The jades are a bit loud for aluminum likely.
Yeah I was gonna do that too
is it not okay to install lekkers south facing?
okay thank goodness
it's the only right way to do it don't let these north facing apologists tell you otherwise!!!
i got my 60he module and it came with a paper that says to only install north facing

currently lubing my lekkers haha
FR4 x Jades x Salvation is pretty nice
how was alu
Gonna fix up my friendās keyboard
am I blind or is that front height as tall as the Eifell Tower?
It looks like itās built this way for a wrist rest that comes along with the keyboard is my guess
But yeah the keyboard is massive
What mousepad is that? Setup looks awesome
What in the freaky frick
Also did those stands come along with the speakers @stray tiger? Since I have a standing desk, those speaker stands would work great with my setup
Thatās actually amazing. Looks like @stray tiger probably got the custom sizing done. It fits extremely well
did you memorize all the key cap labels o.O
keyboard looks great btw, but I could never image myself using it. I'd be malding over looking for a specific character xD
im going to super lube it lel
it's mx browns it doesn't matter if tactility is gone because there is no tactility lol
ty ty š
Yeah I had a custom size cut so that it wouldn't sit on top of the desk clamps. As for the speaker stands, they were a separate purchase from Amazon. My entire setup is sit/stand also so everything can go up and down together.
Thats awesome, would you happen to have the link to those speaker stands? I'd love to check it out
Sure Monoprice Studio Monitor Stands (600024) https://a.co/d/7GThb3H
When setting up your home studio, monitor stands are key. They are both useful at keeping your speakers secure and can make a huge difference in your sound, as monitor placement is critical for proper mixing. If you've ever used conventional, floor standing monitor stands, you know they need some...
I appreciate the link, thank you
Btw I don't use that desk pad as a mouse pad, it's just to cover the desk top to reduce echo a bit and protect the surface. I still use a mouse pad as well.
Yeah I got it, I've used these before. The custom sizing really caught my eye, it looks awesome. Ties everything together
anyone know a good site to get white xda double shot keycaps? its been hard tryna find xda caps
Sry for vertical picture but just took off these keycaps
mx browns š°
I feel like the slightest hint of tactility in them
but it's nonexistant
oh man I can't desolder these switches so i can't tune the stabilizers...
Any reason you can't desolder?
Well first, all the screws are covered by the silicone feet
and most importantly, I don't have the tool to do it
Ah the feet are pretty easy but not having the tools is
GG
I don't have glue to put the feet back š
You can use a heat gun or hair dryer to save the adhesive
probably
But yea
just dont have the tools anyway š¢
No soldering iron is
so now it's just the stabilizers that sound ass

What about just shoving super lube into them
Surely can't hurt to try since you're doing that for the switches anyway
I did
but the wire is unbalanced
and I can't do anything about it
Valiant effect
gg

Was relubing my stabs, just applied krytox on stem and housing, should i use it for the wire as well or continue on with dielectric
Ik personal preference but I want people to choose for me this time
what have you always used before
try krytox for something new š
my enter and right shift doesnt need lube on the wire
Prob my left shift as well
no rattle :D
damn
Yeah only spacebar and backspace
so pretty much just gotta balance ur wires
minor rattle, doesnt sound too bad
ig so
Alr ima do krytox this time
eeee
I wish I could do more for my friend's keyboard but it's not hotswap ;-;
cause she gave me a monitor for free that she didn't need
no soldering iron...
@quiet bay just finished lubing the wires
what do u think about them
Stabs sound pretty good
Not the best sounding ive done but still really good
Spacebar a bit hollow..
dunno why
put something in it
not your penis
Theres already Neoprene foam in it
i think it has to do with the case foam
i put the wooting foam in, it sounded stale
so im guessing i have to take out some polyfill
Gl
I think my brother has a soldering iron from when he tried to fix his controller before...
Idk if he actually does though
hopefully also has a pump incase I mess up lmao
Idk if its better or not tbh
i removed some
sounds a bit less hollow ig

My N Keycap is scratched up for some reason
i just noticed
Feel your pain
My dog keeps going onto my keyboard and well

Nite y'all
Is anyone going to change the stock stabs when you get the 80HE? What do you plan to use?
TX AP screw ins for the spacebar and Staebies for the rest.
šÆ
These?
Correct.
Damn site only has the PCB mount TX AP
I like the sound profile of Staebies on all but space. š
Screw ins are PCB mounted, or you mean they only have clip ins?
It doesn't make it clear
Also betting the sold out 1.6mm is the required size for 80HE?
Yes.
All Wootingās PCBs are 1.6mm thick.
TX APs are widely available though, Iām sure thereās another retailer who has them in stock.
That Staebies pack contains all required stabs for 80HE, spacebar included?
Yes.
Might just get that then.
Yeah, I like Staebies a lot personally.
You do need to hand lube them though. Itās not required but recommended.
Better than durock?
I've done it before, fiddly though.
Got some BDZ and 205
@tawdry tree https://divinikey.com/collections/keyboard-stabilizers/products/tx-ap-screw-in-stabilizers
TX AP Screw-in Stabilizers are now here after popular request. Having all the features we love with the AP Stabilizers such as the doubleshot stem and wire consistency while allowing for PCB screw-in for a more secure mount. TX AP Screw-in Stabilizers Feature: Designed by kin25 Version: Rev 4 Screw-in Stabilizers Doubl
Correct?
I would just need the Base 1.6T set?
Oh nice!
Yes. Both TX APs and Staebies have tighter tolerances than Durocks.
Staebies more so than TX.
Alright, but do not lube Staebies with BDZ/grease, not even the wire. Grease is too thick for the stabilizers. Using that will make them very mushy, just 205 is perfect. Same goes for TX APs.
If you were going to use only TX or Staebies, what would you go with?
Not if you like the way your current stabilizers sound. Only if you want to try something new or looking for a different (maybe better) sound.
I think I failed with mine
I like Staebies over TX APs.
I'm too lazy to bother. Gonna try when I get the 80HE
I'm quite bad at all the lubing and stuff
And whether I go TX APs or Staebies...the base kits have all I need?
Experience builds expertise.
Yes.
No maybe not
I donāt remember if TX called their full kit āBaseā or āTKLā
Base indeed.
Where to find staebies for EU. I know maxgaming has TX
These go with the Jades nicely though
Technically a UK site by Keebkats has them
They definitely would!
Does the colour of the plastic effect the sound?
Why has God forsaken me?
Lmao
Where are you from, not from the UK right?
UK
Divinikey has got that shipping so wrong.
Not that I've been able to find. Only clip ins
Clip ins are fine too but Iād just wait a bit.
The 80HE wonāt ship anytime soon
So no need to pay Ā£21 to ship an item of Ā£18. š
I speak from experience.
TX AP Screw-in Stabilisers are now here after popular request. Having all the features we love with the clip-in TX AP Stabilisers such as the doubleshot stem and wire consistency while allowing for PCB screw-in for a more secure mount. TKL Kit Includes: 10 x Housings 10 x Stems 4 x 2u Wires 1 x 6.25u Wire 1 x 7u Wire 1
Found a UK site
Never heard of this site so hope it's legit
That's more like it
Yes but from my experience it's get it while it's in-stock. So many in demand items go out of stock in this hobby.
Ordered
@tawdry tree Do you brush on the 205 or syringe it?
Yeah
I brush it on. Inside of the stabilizer housing and stem, the outside of the stem and wire, then in the hole where the wire clips into the housing.
Thin coat, you can always add more later and cleaning excess can be a pain.
Do you lube the hole for screw ins?
Not the screw hole, nono!
oh I get you now
Where the wire goes into the stem housing lol
Thought you were talking about the hole on the PCB for a second
Yes.
So far I got Jade switches, TX AP Stabs, GMK keycaps, zinc case. LGG USB cable. Think that's all for now.
The whole package, awesome! Are you gonna hand lube the Jades and stabilizers before you get the 80HE?
I've done my fair share of lubing switches and find it incredibly laborious. I'm currently using Geonworks Raptors and they're the first factory lubed switches I ever used and they're fine for me. People say the jades are even better so I'm going to just go with the factory lube. Stabs I'll lube when I'm assembling the 80HE.
@tawdry tree Having said that I think the Jades arrive tomorrow. So they'll be sitting there a long time and maybe one day when I've got nothing to do I'll break out the switch opener lol
Itās tedious for sure but with a bit of music or movie it can be enjoyable too.
Always find my fingers are sore after doing 20-30 switches, switches kind of have sharp bits.
@tawdry tree Wait are you the guy I redpilled into buying a Beast X?
Hmm, sore of holding the switches or opening them?
Not me š
Must have been a similar name. Opening them.
Yeah probably. There are plier type openers
Those might help
Yeah I just have a push one
Yeah
Whatās the most common case for the he60?
probably Tofu Redux
Thanks ā¤ļø
Iād have to say the case it comes with. šš
True but I assumed the case that people would swap it out with š
Thanks for not being sarcastic like most people are when you ask simple questions
Oooo this case is sick
Than Lekkers? Not really, sounds similar. Than Jades? Yes, Jades have a higher pitch sound profile.
After some extensive gaming testing lol, I have concluded that (atleast for me) the Geon Raptors are better than the jades. Jades sound and feel much better, but the Raptors have less fatigue and also rebound faster and easier for better spamming.
Anyone here tested the tofu60 sound compared to the alumaze60 ?
tofu less pingy and hollow when you add the brass weight
alumaze pretty pingy as it's just standard alu and needs the foam
is the alumaze profile really that much lower than the tofu redux?
yeah the front height a couple mm lower
Is it tho?
The back is more important for me as I couldnāt use any āheight-legsā on any keyboard because I am getting cramps
wooting has it with oem keycaps on their site and such so hard to say
Oh interesting
Do you have one from the back?
back isn't going to change anything really
I donāt see a crazy difference tbh
Thanks! Ahh thatās why.
Well i will get my alumaze tomorrow, if the high feets are ok to me Iāll maybe try to refund for a tofuš
Looks much better imo
Yeah, with the smaller feet, it would be lower like Tenturo said
Is one of those the alumaze
Yes maybe the typing angle is wrong for me?
You may need a wrist rest
I'd probably like the Tofu more with a wrist rest
Lower angles need wrist rests
Wrist rest mandatory imo
Will probably use the 2.8° Angle on the 80HE then
should I replace the stabilizers when replacing l60s with jades
So Iām thinking about replacing the keycaps eventually on the 60HE would this be an appropriate place to ask about that?
Yup
Iām really not too familiar with keycap types but it seems like PBT is universally considered good? Iām looking for something thatās not really expensive that is either all black or black on top with the letters and stuff printed on the side
And Iām just not sure where to start looking since Iāve only had one mechanical board before years ago and never replaced key caps
https://www.amazon.com/PBT-Keycaps-Minimalist-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B0BZCDWNDH/ref=sr_1_3 Also this page has a lot of vendors to look at https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/
PBT Keycaps - Side Print Keycap Set, Double Shot Shine Through Custom Keycaps, Black Keycaps OEM Profile 136 Keys, Minimalist Style Phantom Keyboard Keycap for Mechanical Keyboards
The Wooting wrist rest fits the redux perfect FWIW
hello i have question
But great with the tofu and freebird60
i just got wooting module and tofu redux and idk wtf iām doing
Thank you for your help
if anyone knows should i use the sound dampeners they give? and where can i find how to screw in pcb?
wooting and tofu give different sound dampeners and screws
jk figured it out
What do yall recommend for metal keycaps?
I wanna do a black aluminum case with copper color keycaps but metal or near that color
https://awekeys.com/pages/full-metal-keycap-set-copper-eagle It's a kickstarter though
lol Iām just seeing these for the first time
These are pre-order. But thatās what I would buy if I was getting metal keycaps. But solid aluminum is more expensive than a mixed metal
Awekeys are probably the cheapest and decent quality (from what Iāve read online they seem acceptable. No clue really tho)
Thank you!
reminder that you can take off the tofu usb ring if you're friction mounting

don't be like me when i didnt find out about this
mine still fits with the usb thing in
If you run into issues, yes, otherwise no.
so is it even
it is a long stem switch
I've seen it cause issues with stock stabs but for some people it also works fine
I'm one of those people
I bought long pole stabs and didn't even up needing them
Same
They do work perfectly with stock stabs and GMK caps
What keycaps would be perfect for 80he with zinc white?
Having a tough time removing switches. Any suggestions? If I pull any harder I am probably gonna snap some of the switches
There was a suggestions in the past to remove the PCB or something. I want to make sure Iām understanding it correctly before attempting it
Click both front and back little things then roll it to the back. Meaning kind of pull the front out first then up
What you ever you like
Hearing some crunching noises there š
Some switches come out pretty easy. Others are insanely difficult to remove. Iām sure Iāll break a couple of them along the way but Iām trying to see if thereās anything else I can try
Yeah you didnāt do as I recommended
Youāre just wobbling back and forth
Donāt pull up in the back at first. Just leave it in place while you roll it backwards and the front pops out. Then pull the whole thing up
Make sure to have both front and back little pieces pushed in fully
Let me try again
Iām seeing if do it this method, Iām putting a lot more tension towards the front of the switch. The chances of me breaking the switch feel quite a bit more likely to happen this way
When I slowly wobble it, it seems to help more but still insanely difficult to remove
Even popping them back in is a challenge
The plate is tight. If you unscrew the plate taking the switches out is a lot easier.
cuz the top clips dont really move
@weary tree or @tawdry tree so I removed all the screws for the PCB but itās not coming off. Is there anything else Iām missing?
Itās most likely a bit tight on the stabilizers. If all but the stabilizer screws are removed from the bottom it is loose.
You can lift up the plate from one side, bit by bit.
Shouldnāt take force to do it.
remove stabilizer keycaps
then separate switch plate from pcb
You know what, this worked for me
Are the keycaps still on?
Looks like I got it to work without pulling the stabs
Finally
You could look into getting TXās switch puller. It puts pressure on the entire switch instead on just a small point. It works well for me. Some switches are still tough to take out but no undoable.
Now try pulling some switches out again
Got any links?
Iām using this one right now
You can push em from the back too, at least I did.
The other one, the fatter one.
Moment
Kinda looks like mine. Has the same little prongs towards the bottom
Yeah but with this you canāt āover pressā it, just to the edge of the switch and then lift up or tilt.
Hmm so with the PCB off, the switches donāt really come off any easier. I now get a bunch of flex out of the polycarbonate plate, very interesting. Very different from past keyboard builds
Not even by pressing from the bottom?
Anyway I actually think I prefer the L45s luckily. I wonāt fully switch to the L60s switches. I wish I had like a L50s switch or something. Just a smidge heavier
Did you lube them with superglue maybe? š
Spring packs soon..
Yeah that would be nice but still needing to pull off all the switches which would be a bummer š„¹
The more you take them in and out the easier itāll be the next time.
Oh you mean like pushing a finger underneath and pulling it at the same time with a switch pulled? This method actually works a bit better. Not easy of course but definitely helps out
Hopefully this shows it a bit
Yeah, I did it without using a switchpuller but it could be that mine are more loose already.
Yes exactly.
Oh yeah for sure. Very helpful, thank you for the suggestions
Yw! š
Again I think I like the L45s for now but if I do spring swap Iāll likely pull this apart again
Iām just gonna swap the silicone for the foam this time around
@harsh dove do your switches also pull out this way?
In terms of being that difficult? No
Never had that much issue even with PCB attached
I think Iāll reach out to wooting explaining this issue. Itās like the tolerance is wayyyy too tight
Thereās no way itās normal
The one that comes with the module. Polycarbonate plate
Stock one too
Yeah idk, I have 4 Wooting PC plates, 2 black and 2 white, and haven't had tolerance issues
Yeah, thatās certainly odd. Iāve taken apart switches before but not anywhere near this difficult. Iāve taken out about 10 of these switches so far and my fingers are aching from pulling them out
Very odd, and your switch puller looks similar to the Wooting one
I use the Wuque Studio puller
but haven't had issues with the wooting one either
Mine is from RAMA works or something along that name
Ah okay
Got it from some keyboard site in the past. Itās really sturdy and nice to use but even with it, having trouble
Even without the PCB, this case looks great š¤Æ

Cam wtf š
Yeah
he already ordered
So did Pops
Heh me still being roleless
Holy fak thats bootiful
How big?
I love it. I think you should, itās going for like 280$ off Novelkeys right now
Whats the original price?
It was 370$ for the longest time
But they removed the PCB with it. So you can get only the case. Thatās why the price went down
š discount do be sounding juicy
Yeah its only 205
Even better. Which site?
I got mine for $220 on black friday

Novelkeys
but mine was full kit hehe
yeah
full kit?
wonder if they still give carrying case
No wayyy they brought it even lower
probs not
so pcb and everything?
yeah
185$ for soul black. So tempting to get that color as well
Whats the plans
Might just accidentally purchase it š³š«¢
I'm surprised they have the Ecoat red in stock
It was 205$ just a couple of days ago. I wonder if itāll continue to drop in price. They must have a lot to sell it for so much lower
I would steal somewhat immediately if i had the money
You know when does sales end?
22nd
I donāt think we know those details. Itās possible theyāll keep it this way until they fully run out of stock?
They wonāt re-sell again from my understanding
Where did you see 22nd for the sale?
Ohhh itās the spring cleaning gooot it
Yeah 100% best price Iāve seen on it. I got mine 225$ off mechmarket so this is a steal
Brand new as well
anyone have a link too all white pbt keycaps
Yeah tough choices
Thats ships from usa?
It should yes
https://divinikey.com/products/cherry-mx-black-clear-top-nixie-linear-switches?
Probably get these
Cherry MX Black Clear Top Switches are a recreation of the switches used in the old Nixdorf CT06/07 keyboards. Cherry researched and developed a new version of these "Nixie" switches and was able to incorporate all the modern production optimizations to elevate the switch to today's industry-leading MX standard. Cherry
You can replace the springs in the switches to change how hard you have to press the keys right?
not typical springs tho
they are bigger
so you can take the l45 and put them into l60 yes
bigger and non-magnetic
and also cant be magnetic or that can affect it
So are there springs one could buy to replace in the lekker60 to make them even heavier?
Or will there ever be
i hear they were working on a spring pack but that was a while ago
Okay
After switching over to the foam vs silicone. I think I prefer the sound of silicone more. Makes it clack better. The foam doesn't exactly deepen it. Just mutes out the sound if anything
"Broken-in"
Interesting
never heard of a company that would break in the lube for you
broken in is like pressing the switches a lot of times
probably just in-and-outed in some hole and then put back into the jar
in this case 500 000 times
Which stabs do I need for the original 60he and gateron jades to remove the wobble? I just installed the gateron switches and find the wobble distracting. Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks!
A link would be ideal!!
long pole stabs
Awesome. 1.6 or 1.2?
TX AP Long Pole Stabilizers are designed to better compliment long pole switches by limiting the total travel distance of the stabilizers. Now coming in the "AP" revision which stands for "almost perfect". This revision is notable in its improvements to the housing and stem to fit the wire better, reduce wobble, as wel
I appreciate the help
Thank you
wait 60he or 60he +
I thought the tx ap are plate mount
that link is clip in
Let me look
Great. Thanks again
Not sure but this looks like it
TX AP Long Pole Plate Mount Stabilizers are kin25's adaptation of the clip-in long pole stabilizers to a plate mount form by reducing the total travel distance of the stabilizers. These "Almost Perfect" stabilizers features improvements to the housing and stem to fit the wire better, reduce wobble, as well as reduce un
Better to double check tho
Thanks
How do yall take your pcb out when you burger mount? i cant get a grip on anything to push it out lol
it doesnt take a lot of effort to take it out of burger mount
apart from screws nothing holding it back
making gravity your friend and flipping it upside down, and ideally having some switches out, space bar is helpful, and pull down on the plate
be mindful of your usb port as you're pulling it out tho
alumaze or tofu60 redux?
Redux in my opinion. I even returned my Alumaze60
Redux is a lot heavier, in terms of aesthetics I do prefer the look of the Tofu more and I think it's overall quality is better
salvation if you have the money
Burger mount? Aren't you supposed to unscrew it first before trying to pull it out?
theres no screw slol
there are screws on burger mount
oops I did lol
i pull it out from the space bar hole
take out the switch and pull it from there
just careful the usb c hole
dont damage that
hi, im gonna get my wooting 60HE in april, what can i do to make it sound better?
all of that
thanks
most important id say is lubing
krytox?
and the gummy oring mount is really good too
yeah lubing the switches
i also did tape mod
and put in polyfill instead of foam
is this the one i should get?
yeah those are the ones
can get them from other sources if you want
205g0 for switches
i have a little bit of 205g0 laying around but it is not enough for the entire keeb
105g0 is good for bag lubing the springs
alumaze or tofu redux for the best sound?
i have tofu for price reasons
but im gonna get salvation
because of the insane discount
used to go for 370
because they didnt sell the case alone
now they do
what makes this better than the tofu or alumaze?
Not just that but just the case along with this spring sale, brings it down to 185 depending on the color you choose
it has leaf springs
It has leaf springs, makes it softer when typing
makes it bouncy
I also think it looks miles better than a Tofu case but ofc that's personal preference
I think it's also a little bit heavier
i think im getting the white one
oh i love the copper slag colour
Sound is subjective. I have done a lot of mods and I just keep thinking the stock sounded best lol
The white one has a Texture, just be aware of that before making the purchase
I am using it right now
yeah the red one too
The other colors feel smooth to the touch
i just think it fits the white cerakeys better
Not my salvation but I love this combo
striker and ewhite is a good combo
Agreed
Love the engraving but I probably will dislike the sound profile
This was the old case
Had to retune some switches some of them might sound sticky but this should be close to what it would sound like
How does one achieve this holy sound
Wood case plus neoprene foam
Also Geon Raptor frankstein
Its more stab rattle
nah it's HE rattle
I did a pretty bad job on them original ones
can't get away from it
The tolerances are literally so tight I had to delube them

It might be the overlube but I guarantee there's no rattle
Its literally too tight
hmm yeah I just cant come to like the sound a wooden case produces
Fair
I already had Chinese keycaps with the jade theme going so I was like might as well go for wood
Nah there is def rattle
no one has solved yet on HE switches
unless you do the medical tape mode like pochizo
I'll send the new sound demo when I fix the stabs
Does anyone know where to find keycaps like this keyboard has? The letters are completely gone without backlighting.
Based on 16 reviewsĀ TAX EXEMPT PURCHASE FOR QUALIFYING non-profit schools, universities, or other organizations only The KeyMaster Learning Lights keyboard has revolutionized how keyboarding skills are taught to young learners.Ā This keyboard is a must-have for teachers and studentsĀ working towards keyboard mastery.
But i've used it all except ks20u (and CAM confirmed they still have HE sound) but have done jades with lubed top housing, raptor/l60 franken, raptors, etc etc and my jades the sound went away with lubed top housing for a while
but now it's just back again

Those were overlubed so I delubed them and they've been better
Stabs come in on Wednesday so I'll fix them up and send new demo
I mean it does sound good for a 60he
Those are just regular blank keycaps that u can search up easily
but the rattle shall remain
I don't notice it tbh
No, blank keycaps are blank.
I noticed it on the lekkers
These have legends
These not so much
do you have any mx boards or only HE?
I have MX boards
Hmm okay
I just use my mx boards for work then come to my 60he and just hear the rattle HE sound forever and ever
Like I've done all combos as you can see here:
oh never seen something like that beforr
Itās made to help people learn typing
But I think it would look sick on the 60HE
Yea maybe its just that I zone it out

This wood case is really tempting me
Yeah I've just given up on HE
I only game with my wooting anyways so not sure why I even bothered modding
if I type for long periods just pull out one of my customs
how do you make it sound good
you wear ear plugs or listen to a mx board sound test while typing on it
Yeah I think they arenāt sold separately
I hope someone makes something like this. Iāll keep looking and maybe some day Iāll find something.
Maybe I can buy the keyboard just to steal the keycaps off of it
just buy blank keycaps?
Look at what I linked
I did
They are not blank keycaps
Touch type?
And then look when you need help?
The legends only show with the backlight on.
these are just rgb keycaps with black for the doubleshots
So can you find some? Iām having trouble finding any?
Iād appreciate any help in finding a good set
Okay. Well thank you. Maybe that will help me search
Until then Iāll just use blanks
razer has the phantom keycaps i think
but the quality is not best
i heard they shine quickly
Iāll take a look, thank you.
Its a cool concept if itās done right
question i saw this case on the compatability sheet https://ar.aliexpress.com/item/32540926035.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2ara but they only sell in bulk so i typed it in amazon and 2 different ones popped up which one works? https://www.amazon.com/Anodizing-Aluminum-Mechanical-Keyboard-Compatible/dp/B06XKRRX3L

is it worth it to switch out my stock wooting stabilizers to durock screw in stabilizers
now that i'm thinking about it more, i don't think so, nevermind šš
Absolutely not.
Something like TX APs or Staebies, sure, only if you dislike the sound and or feel of the stock stabilizers.
But Durocks require a lot of tuning to sound anywhere close to TX APs or Staebies so then you might as well tune your stock stabilizers. š¤·āāļø
Anyone know jade vs raptor lekker stem wobble? Which has less/is better?
Also, is there a switch and stem combo that can be less wobbly than raptor with lekker stem? Just so I know for the 80HE.
Guessing I have to go either jade or raptor, but I haven't seen any jade wobble tests.
lekker v2's
ah but those aren't out yet right? So we don't know for sure heh.
i might also just not be the best reference. imo the lekker switches as they are have no practically impactful wobble
Stem swapped raptors have very little stem wobble but youāll also notice a bit of friction when you use them.
Iām not sure yet how long they have to be broken in for to make them smooth.
they are smooth from the getgo
the issue is tolerances are stupid tight
they loosen up slightly with a bit of use tho
ya i have a raptor lekker stem atm on my Ctrl key, haven't setup the rest yet on this Lekker because too lazy. Very good wobble but wondering if Jade/V2 will be even better.
Not all mine are.
Stem swapped raptors have the least stem wobble Iāve seen so far
How long have you used them for?
cool. But we haven't seen the V2 yet right?
nope
Doubt V2 will beat it though but never know.
I assume V2s are going to be comparable to the Jades.
for sure
yeah I wouldn't want v2s to be that tight
why too much? less wobble the better, no?
no
they are too tight
i don't get the downside of tightness, what's wrong with it.
the board sounds muted with that
It feels like a heavier spring.
pssh, who cares about sound. Feel> all
less wobble up to a point is better. But too tight means it literally doesn't match your spring weight
doesn't even feel super nice
ah the spring feels heavier? lemme see
because that is precicely what happened
I think after theyāre broken in theyād be worth it though
yeah exactly, it's this artificial kind of tight feel from them being a tad too tight
aren't all springs the same? Haven't seen people talk quality of springs before.
as long as it fits HE switches
absolutely not

they vary in tolerances and noise
gateron springs tend to be noisy
even when lubed
ic
they do be crunch city still tho
mine are not at all
Probs just some changes then as mine are from like early 2022
first time I had to do 205g0 on springs as 105/106 was not working

Stem swapping 20Us with 20Ts is interesting. Itās very tight, very little stem wobble but the fat stem of the 20Us catches on the bottom housing of the 20Ts (and 20s too) resulting in an even shorter travel.
20Uās stem does not fit LTP/Raptor housings by the way.

Any noticeable change on feelings/sound?
The even more pro gamer move
Getting that bottom out as short as possible
they bottom out easier really all I know lmao
what about the press force? like 45 or 60 ?
⢠Initial Force: 30士7gf
⢠Total Travel: 3.5±0.2mm
thanks, are they coming prelubed aswell ?
thanks for info ā¤ļø
np np
80HE Prepping
smh hasnt even tried the lekker v2's yet
I just delubed and that fixed the problem
You have to put the smallest bit of lube or else it gets stiff
Agreed
If you want no wobble and donāt wanna take apart two sets of switches and lube them. Just get KS20u (Peaches) and call it a day. Way less work, same results, and imo even better than stem swapped raptors cause you donāt get the friction feel from tolerances being too tight
An KS20u are deeper than raptors if youāre going for that
open bottom sounds kinda bad
Yeah I prefer jades over anything else rn
But in terms of wobble
Just get KS20u over raptors
Haha yeah
actually just got out my wooting again
and the bottom out is silent
and the top out makes clacks
which is kinda annoying
somewhat topre-ish
Yeah thatās pretty much the whole thing with current HE
Thatās why jades are the only ones that stand out rn cause of closed bottom
I have a question about O rings. Which O rings should I get to supress the noise of my two HE keyboard? Trying to find some O ring products on amazon.de

Surprisingly the stem wobble on the 20Us at their resting position is more than on the 37Bs. I like how they feel but its upstroke is on the loud side still, less than KS-20s but still quite annoying to me.
š¤£š¤£ 0.1mm total travel distance switches when?
Also
It seems Jades and 20s are exactly the same when it comes to stem wobble. I believed Jades had a bit less stem wobble at first but the 20Uās stem fits as tight in the Jadeās bottom housing as in the KS-20s.
Both top housings and stems are identical.
So I donāt think the Jades are tighter than KS-20s/Lekkers.
They are definitely tighter
(Jades > Lekkers)
Just take your finger/tweezers and wiggle the stem on both switches
Lekkers wiggle way more
Even the top housing on lekkers move very slightly whereas Jades top housing is solid/no movement
Source: Testing it right now for the bazillionth time
20Uās stem in 20 and 20Tās housing, I notice no difference. 20 and 20Tās stem in LTP/Raptorās housing, I notice no difference.
That's too many changing parts for me lol
20 top housing on 20Tās bottom housing, I notice no difference. Same vise versa.
I'm just comparing stock
Similar results here which makes sense
A stock Jade has less wobble than a stock lekker
Thatās how I do it, I think doing it by hand leaves more room for error? š¬
You can physically feel the difference in wobble with your hand
It's not hard to notice
Just use tweezers
I also think the Jades are noticeably tighter but its not significantly tighter
Yeah, it's just noticeably tighter
Raptors sswapped are even tighter but too tight for me
I plan to finish swapping my raptors this week using the old L60 stems. Ive done a few and they seemed good.
Could be, maybe the width from rail to rail is the same but the rail āguidesā are tighter. Not sure.
I do know some people had fitment issues with newer stems
Tesing rn, I'd almost say Jades stem have similar wobble to the KS20u (peaches)
They both barely move compared to stock Lekker
Is it worth getting the KBDFANS wob if thatās all Iām going to add to the 80HE
Like not using jades or raptors
I tried with broken in L60s and brand new L45s and they are just not for me lol, too much friction
If you like WoB, sure!
Just feels tight when I type
Even after hand lubing
Tried with and without hand lubing
The pc plates lets the light bounce off and shine through the gaps in the keycaps
I like stem swapped LTP/Raptors the most, without them being broken in yet, still.
Yeah I still have my 45 stems in my raptors from when I swapped them last time
Need to swap em back eventually
to test Lekkers v1 VS v2
I used the KS-20ās stem and LTPās housing those and the 20Us look the same š¤£
by LTP you mean lekker top housing?
L45 and l60 same wobble?
Just got the 60he with l60 which arrives tomorrow, in every video you see crazy wobble which my old keyboard donāt have, hope itās not disturbing me that much
Yeah it bothers some more than others
Just try em, see how you feel, can try hand lubing them too if you want
Does hand lubing effects less wobble?
Don't let the rest of us bait you into buying new stuff lol
Just helps with the sound mainly
Not gonna change wobble
Theyāre Raptors
Only with no branding on the switch, in white and a reversed polarity.
But if youāre not gonna use the stems anyway, theyāre great
Like $30 for 90 switches.
The top and bottom housing.
With a KS-20 stem
Yes
Yeah, he said heād release them this month but
cba to wait
Has Gateron started to sell the 20Us yet?
Don't think so
Oh nice
https://www.gateron.com/products/gateron-ks-20-dual-rail-magnetic-orange-switch-sat?VariantsId=10779
Not on their AliStore yet I donāt think.
yeah they posted on IG last week that they were "coming soon" lol. Few months behind.
Right lol
Can you buy jades directly from gateron?
Yes
I wont be buying many more switches until the Lekker Pro's come out
They heavily prioritize selling to manufactures over individual consumers.
Lekker Pros haha
Same unless something really different comes out in that time frame
Lekkerder or Heerlijk, no V2s or Pros!!!
OH right lekkar pros š
For now I'm happy with my Jades and Peaches
I might buy some more reverse polarity switches when/if the firmware supports it.
How do they feel different are they all linear?
Oh definitely same
I want those Sakura Pinks
Pair em with my Olivias
Got a bag of LTP stems and Outemu tactiles ready when and if that happens. š
How are the Outemus?
Haha yeah fair
They were dirt cheap as well so didnāt expect much to begin with. š¤£
Can anyone guide me with this?
I've never tried o-rings on the switch stems or anything but I think KBDfans makes Thock Rings
Hmm, I think you mean the sound caused by the switchās upstroke which wonāt be suppressed with O-Rings.
āThock Ringsā Lmao
Ikr
To me they're just "Mute Rings"
Based on videos I've seen
They just mute your board
Thatās all O-Rings
Pretty much
Foam o rings anyway
Damn Alex got the new GMK Symbiote's
Now I want them
(again)
I believe that still would make a lot of noise go away from the keyboard for sure.
Yeah probably
You can try them of course. Theyāll probably come up if you search keyboard O-Rings. I believe theyāre M3 O-Rings originally.
thanks
@quiet bay Just recieve a service request
Going to be modding a Yunzii AL66 Wireless keeb
Running out of Krytox tho
lmao I superlubed the mx browns
OH hellllllll
They were soldered soo....
I didn't handlube them and I was also running out of krytox
Which is the lightest HE switch I can get? Gave away my 60HE to a friend with L60 switches and he thinks the shift key is too heavy to hold. I wanna swap shift+control switches with something light
In terms of out of the box, lightest would be L45s, I've seen some people buy the AliExpress springs for their switches and swap them, I believe the lighest they have is 28g
Are L45s lighter than geon raptors as well?
Yes
30cn - 45cn
Jades are 37 - 50
I don't know raptors starting but i know their end is 52g
I have jades and like them more than the 60s. Can the AliExpress springs fit any of the HE switches?
I don't wanna say any HE switch cause there's lots, but in terms of the Wooting compatible ones, yes
Yeah that's what I meant. So you can effectively turn L60 switches to light weight switches just by spring swapping
Interesting
Thanks
Correct, and no problem
just ordered a set of the 64g glorious springs and the wooting lube kit for my wooting 2 (flaretech). any tips or obvious things I should make sure I dont forget? I've never done something like this before
not sure if it's the same construction as the Two HE, but the top plate is coated and not anodized, so be careful of scratching it when pulling switches
i had to sharpie over a few oopsies on mine š
well ig make sure the springs aren't magnetic
not sure if it actually fits lekkers though
the ol flaretech boards are optical
Those springs wont work unfortunately
š¢
can you recommend some that will work? I got the red 55cN switches and I was hoping to make them just a tiny bit stiffer
Wooting will have spring packs coming soon (within the next few weeks I believe) if you dont need something right now. If you do need something right now, I dont have a good source for you.
what makes them incompatible? I was under the impression that anything cherry compatible would work
Non-magnetic

too late
