oh nice thank you
Oh really I set to 3 and it wasnāt working for me wonder why
Iāll test it later again but my tab wasnāt being hit at 3
black rgb?
I don't use rgb so it's just black
a man with taste
Brass plate on the way
Because i can
thats a really bad use of money
but you do you
Yes
I tried thinner and thicker, both are bad
someone needs to make the worst sounding wooting possible
Its going to be me
I have tried 10+ plates till today
god speed soldier
at least its stainless
Has anyone tried pom
i was originally going to try pom
But itās your board
Ended up getting a brass plate
Is it actually a brass plate for 60he
Yes
or did you just buy a random 60% brass plate
Only thing with brass is it looks good
I like it with tactiles for the feel but that's about it
otherwise it's awful 99% of the time
unfortunately i have wasted money on brass from smkeyboards
Everyone getting int o modding their keyboard for the first time because of wooting is just getting the experience and knowledge we've known for a long time in the keyboard hobby
If i dont like it then ill be in the rabbit hole of wasting money until i get the right sound
i have modded a keyboard in the past but hadnt purchased a plate before
It was a gh60 mod and i believe the plate was already aluminum
well yeah gh60 is same as 60he p much
Although i regret putting foam in it
I'm just talking about using gasket mount, gummy oring, top mount, sandwich, etc
Tape was enough
Aaah
Nah im not gonna do all that
im just going to tape mod it and call it a day
my housing of choice is going to be wood
So im curious how brass and wood are going to sound together
Hopefully it doesnt sound like butcheeks and fart
Hate to say it but it probably will
But test it for the rest of us
Be a shining example of what not to do
Yes i will probably be posting a video on it
can i have an review about the gateron jade ?
They the best for sound in the HE world currently
That may change when Lekker 2.0s drop
lol got me there
Sound is subjective but a good amount of people would agree they are the best sounding HE switch rn
Hi guys (āāā”āā)ļ¾
A lot also like the KS20u or Raptor Hybrids
Slept for 12 hrs
Im glad im not the only one who isnt a fan of the jades
If you donāt like clack, which most who are new to the hobby donāt, then you wonāt like Jades
Some also donāt like the 3.5mm travel
3.4
Long story short i went black and could never go back
and where i can buy them ? curently i have raptor he with stem l60
lemme buy the raptors off you so u can buy new switches š
i got my raptors while i could thank god
Yeah I just swapped out the stuck raptor hybrid with an l45 and problem solved
Just my escape key so all good lol
Yeah jades suck

I"ve liked the jades the most of the options we have
Theyāll all come over the bridge eventually
Wait has anyone made a video on a brass plate
I wanna know what you guys are talking about, i had only seen a video on petg/steel/alu and pom
For the wooting specifically*
if anyone got frankeinsteins sitting and are planning a swap/buy new lmk ill buy em off u
What do you currently have lmao
l45
I love this. I need more options for long stem switches
You ok with raptor everything but the lekker stem?
Could sell you mine if:when I go lekker 2.0 lol
But not now. Sorry
That is franken switch yes
well for lekker v2 i might get then instead aswell
i kinda wanted them now
but lekker v2ās doesnt release for a couple of months no?
mark also stated they are planing on releasing thocky switches in the live they had couple days ago but no info on what those switches were or if he referred to the lekker v2ās
Ok yeah Iām not selling soon. Sorry lol
all good man
maybe this guy but he aint answering
@tawdry tree these are the pics u were asking for
idk if u can see on the vid but stabs are heavier to press kinda mushy
You can buy LTPās for like ā¬18/70pcs and stem swap.
thing is i dont wanna do it myself
Why not?
^

If you dont know how, it's pretty easy and a good way to get comfortable. And if it's a matter of time, well other people's time is precious too so you are gonna have to pay for it.
not if someone decides to switch from them to a new set of switches š
They either sell them as 2 sets of switches or they price the one franken set the same price as 2 sets lol
That's just me though
they can try but no one will buy it at a price of 2 sets of switches
If they find someone even lazier than you they easily could.
that will be hard hahaaha
š Itās not a lot of work, it takes like an hour, maybe a bit over.
tf is discord doing
nah i cba lol
It's not as rough as some I've seen but there's a lot of tension on the plate and stabilizers. You can see the "wave" in the plate from the front and you can see the
"pins" bent because of the stress.
so what i can do is sand it?
You can test without the switch plate to see if it is caused by the tension or because of lube/grease.
If it is the tension all you can do is either use the stock stabilizers or sand the stabilizer holes wider. :/
i think i would have to sand it because i use gummy mount
how do you sand it?
Yes.
how much wider? just a bit?
The red rectangle in the picture above.
or a file.
oh okayy
But before you do, test once with the switch plate removed as that relieves all tension from the stabilizers so the should work optimally unless overlubed.
okay sure ill do it now
Alright, once itās removed take out a switch and put it in the PCB (doesnāt matter that itās loose), then put the keycap on and test spam. š
okay first i need to disassemble everything right
You can seperate the plate and switches from the pcb and stabs im pretty sure (I dont know how the screw in/clip in stabs work with the pcb and all taht)
Yes, on the bottom of the PCB are the screws that hold the plate in place.
oh i used gummy mount so there isnt any screw
Not for the case mount
Yeah you can.
The screws that holds your plate and pcb together
ah ok
ah shi im confused yesterday i removed all the screws at the back and didnt put them back
oh-
well there should be 8 screws that holds the pcb and plate together other than the ones for stabs (Unless you're using clip ins
ya im using clips in
damnnn hahhaa i didnt screw them back lolll
š
I did paper tape on the top and moleskin on the bottom
hows that so far?
Fine
was gonna ask any over heating but i suppose not
šš
again you're using paper tape so its thin
pretty sure masking tape is like thick enough for over heating
mansen said that im pretty sure
was it mansen? i forgo
any idea how to remove clips in stab
You donāt remove the stabs yet!
Yeah
Yes!
Plate so tight on the stabs he donāt need em screws
lmao
All good, is it on tight?
You donāt need to remove the switches from the plate either by the way
You can try to lift up the plate slowly without forcing it
how about keycap? do i need to remove them
Only the ones that are on the stabilizers
Yeah I guessed so, all good!
Iāll be back in 5 min
Hey is there a thread or source here primarily for modding the Wooting Two HE? I needed a full-size keyboard since I use the numpad, pgup/pgdn a lot in my work
Bruh
dont scare me
Attach your plate before you put in the switches
It scares me
lol
Why itās not flat
Iām back.
Seems not mushy anymore?
ya i would say
Are those the stock stabilizers?
name of the stabs
i think most said yes
The stock stabilizers are fine, yes. Perfect, no.
lol theyāre solid
Iām using them for gummy mount no problem
No plate foam tho
Might change if i swap that in
when i bought the o ring there wasnt small size
Alright, well, only one this left to do. š„“
sand the plate then?
Iām using medium rn no plate foam
thought med only works with clips in?
If youāre sure they feel better now without the plate, then yes. Sanding or switching back to stock stabilizers and giving up gummy.
There is foam in between the pcb and plate on all boards right? I know it sounds stupid but I really donāt know lol.
On all Wootingās boards? Stock? I believe so although not sure about the 2HE.
alrighttt:(( thank you for your help
The 80HE will have silicone and the 60HE has foam stock.
Yw man, sorry it had to be such a hassle. :/
Like it comes with it but can be removed or swapped
Itās not a necessity to a working keyboard. Just changes acoustics.
is ur pcb uneven?
or like is a side of the pcb slanted in?
Like this
Top right and bottom left have gaps
Keyboard is slanted because of screw ins and gummy mount
^yes thanks is ur pcb like this @polar girder
And it cannot be shifted/moved around in the case because of how tight it is with screw ins
In other words you canāt fix the gap by trying to move the PCB inside the case
Now I think about it, you might be able to go in between backspace basically excluding it with the O-Ring.
Itād put tension on backspaceās left stabilizer but might work.
You wouldnāt be able to use foam or sili pad though.
Hmm
tyty
@tawdry tree if im going to get a custom plate, what do i need to tell them solve this stabs problem?
was thinking about getting POM
To increase the width by 0.4mm, measuring from the center of the hole.
alrightt thank you
is it worth to get a custom PC plate? i have wooting one that came with the module
You could ask them to make it a clean rectangle too if you wonāt be using plate mounted stabilizers.
Which I donāt think you wil.
Custom PC? For what purpose?
only sound lol so im guessing not
Wooting selling PC plates
ik i have it
No I mean Woot sells them, so a different material would make a difference but getting the same material twice not so much.
im guessing pc gets u the most thock?
pretty much
Eh, depends really
on?
On everything else in your build too.
it leads to a lower pitched sound overall
is it a good idea to do the Tape mod to the Wooting keyboard?
cheap & easy mod to do
yup, so as long as I get an aluminum Plate
The ATK68 for example had an aluminum plate and was filled to the brim with silicone, it was quite a deep sound and its switches are comparable to the KS-20Us.
I've seen that it's a pretty good mod and that it reduces noise considerably, but I don't know how to do it, I'm completely new to this Keyboard Modding stuff.
you just have to get tape that isn't too sticky and doesn't leave residue
put it on the pcb
put how many layers you want
and it's optional to leave holes for the screws
optional?
ye
you don't have to
I just take the tape off and then put it back on when I'm done š
well gonna search a Tape for my wooting x'd
cause there's two types of tap e
1: the one who doesn't stick to anything
2: the one who sticks like super glue to everything
Painters tape
hows that pcb looking bruh
oh okay @ me when ur back and can show
Word
Who recognizes that logo?
looks like owlabs
washedup bitcoin logo
It doesnāt seem like it
rotate
The raw and white zinc cases are calling to me for the 80HE
Will have to decide between the two
u getting it?
Of course
Yeah
š¤·āāļø if you turn your head to the right it does have a resemblance to the owlabs logo
but ig it's not it
maybe Thockfather can recognize lol
Yeah, I searched for it just to make sure.
Saw it on twitter and the guy didnāt mention the name.
64HE triple split spacebar support
idc what it costs
did u ask or did you already and are waiting for a response? š¤
Asked in DMs 2 days ago
damn
Nothin yet
good luck searching for that pcb
Rakka has a 60/64HE PCB too but itās not the same.
My IV Works possibly or my GMK Dualshots
Or buy another set
Waiting on that GMK Cosmos
20 wider
Hello, I am new here, I bought a 60HE+ module and L45 switch, now I need custom PBT keycaps and custom cases, any recommendations? Like is there any sellers providing customized products?
huh?
Not talking to you sorry
pbt fans is pretty good
and tofu redux is the popular case pick
what's the lightest spring that will work? i was looking at 15g or 20g
tofu with brass weight is 84$
kk
Are you trying to type on your keyboard by just looking at it?
Canāt imagine the amount of typing errors at that weight lol
But the lowest Iāve seen is 28g
Itās pretty uncommon to see stock switches go below that of 35g of bottoming out weight, as any lower and the switch stem has a hard time returning after pressing it in. Except in the instances of low-profile switches (e.g. Kailh Chocs), which can easily go as low as 20g of force at bottom out, most MX-style switches hover around 40-50g of bottom out force
ah okay thanks
https://www.keychron.com/products/gateron-double-rail-magnetic-switch are these compatible?
Compatible keyboard: Keychron Q1 HE The Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Switch Set comes with 110 switches. MSRP: $35. Now at $30 for an early bird exclusive price. This is a pre-order product, and we plan to ship it together withĀ the Q1 HE.
I believe those are KS37Bs and if they are, they will not work
They are.
What would be a reasonable price to pay someone for boneyard including all novelties?
$200?
If used, yeah.
wait what are these??
I got a set of Metropolis + signs kit + 2x Rama keys for close to 200 shipped.
unsealed but unused
Yeah 200 seems fair to me if it includes shipping
idk
KS-20Uās brother
so they are good?
Theyāre good but not compatible.
ye those work
might be compatible after a firmware update i saw
which ones?
KS20u works
KS37b does not
Not these, you can see in the first two pictures.
ah okay ill get the orange ones
Only reverse polarity switch might be made compatible in the future
They physically donāt fit.
KS37b have a different physical design which makes them not fit
As they require a hole through the PCB.
good thing u edited that shit fast
Phone autocorrect (at work)
im running jades rn and I think about ordering KS20U. u tried them in your livestream - do you like them more than your jades?
Nah I like jades more personally but they are my 2nd fave HE switch currently
Anyone actually got their stuff delivered through axlehire???
Few peeps have
have their stuff arrived?
just because of the sound or is it about the typing experience too?
I would say theyāre both improvements on the lekkers
Jades louder more clacky. 20Uās quieter thockier. Both solid switches that have less wobble than the lekkers.
Prettt different tho for HE. but both pretty good
As far as Iām aware, yes
Sound
Canāt really care too much about typing experience on HE lol
Or at least not put too much effort into it
Itās HE at the end of the day
why do they use axlehire and not USPS/UPS/FedEx š
Not sure tbh
wooting60HE
Case: F J E L L
Milkyway 2DGF dye sub PBT
Switches: Gateron Magnetic Jades
Stabilizers: Durock Plate mount V3 - Handlubed
mods= Tape Modded PCB and spacebar, band-aid mod for all stabs+ case foam.
So these arenāt compatible?
But these are?
Ks20u over raptor frankenswitches?
For me, yes, others would probs disagree idk
I've tried franken Raptors twice now, with L60s and L45s and I just don't like it
Not for me
Rather use stock Raptors
Got it. I ordered the jades but tbh after hearing a bunch of sound tests Iām not a huge fan of how loud and clacky they are. I also didnāt get lekkers with my module so if I want to do the raptor switches Iād have to re-order from wooting + raptors separately.
Would you say the ks 20us are comprable in sound to the raptors?
jades, can be loud, but if u running good sound dampening mods u should be fine
Most people aren't lubing the top housing on Jades
Do that
and you're good
Im totally feeling the jades, i lubed bot and top in g205 and springs with oil lube
the stem i gave a light coat in 105
The sound Iām comparing is in this guys video btw since I copped the alumaze as well
I went through an insane journey to try and mod my Wooting 60HE to sound perfect, I could not reach that goal as best as I was hoping, but I hope my video helps you reach your goal
#customkeyboard #keyboard #gaming #tech #wooting #keyboardasmr #technology #gamingsetup #gamers #mechanicalkeyboard #gamingkeyboard #switches #switchreview
my phone mic cant pick it up, but mine turned out way more creamy and less clacky
Is there a sound test with this?
i'll send a sound sample tomorrow. I don't have access to good mic rn
Thatād be perfect š
šš
ngl I like it, just donno if resin+ wood a good idea for cases
those who designed theses cases are really having a good taste
Thanks š I think I like the top one better. Whatās the difference in the builds here?
Mods list for the Tofu here @golden shore
And what about the second? Also both jades are lubed the same - as in the top housing as you mentioned earlier?
L100 got my fingers cramping already
Never skip finger day at the gym
2nd vid is a Salvation Case, same jades, CF Plate, no case foam or pcb foam
Let me get my 1lb springs out šæ
1st vid is PBT caps, 2nd is GMK ABS Caps
Damn alright so seems like the foam is making a huge difference. The 60HE+, alumaze comes with both plate and case foam right? Might just have to test out the jades when the come then
If you want a deeper sound yeah
I'm not using case foam or pcb foam in the tofu build
Using Polyfill
I don't really like foamy sounding boards personally
It says case + plate foam here?
Oh salvation then?
Salvation basically has no mods really
just 1 layer moleskin tape
no foam or anything
Oh I got you. You meant to edit the build. Never heard of polyfill gonna look into that.
Most Iāll prob do is the foam + lube switches + tape mod and call it a day.
What's your first?
Whatās the difference between ks20 and ks20u?
Wondering if these are the right ones https://a.co/d/aJOodw9
@golden shore I take back what I said, I did edit it lol, I just made another video for it, so the first list was correct
I forgot
switched it back now
and this would be my ideal Tofu build for the Wooting w/ Jades tbh
(Polyfill, no pcb foam)
KS20U is a new version of the KS20. Major changes are the dual rail system (Which eliminates stem wobble).
KS20 are like the lekker 45/60 fyi
little sound test while in the shooting range
sorry for the mouse on the desk noise lol
sounds good
Got it. The link I sent says double rail. Do those look like the ks20u? Not sure since it says just ks20
KS20u and KS37b are both dual rail switches with different physical designs
KS20u only comes in white/orange
KS37b come in white/yellow/purple/teal
KS37b does not work with Wooting PCB
Youāre basically saying you canāt tell?
You can
The stems are a different color
@harsh dove your Tofu build came out really nice. Still prefer the salvation over the tofu?
Comparing to the KS20 Orange/white and the KS20u Orange/White
The KS20 Orange/White are one singular color in every parts of the switch
While the KS20U on the other hand, only the stem color is different (Meaning that the bottom housing are white and the top housing is clear while the stems are either white or orange)
Yeah I go back n forth on it lol
Does the salvation feel softer due to leaf springs or do they feel about the same in terms of typing feel?
sold out :/
Idk if softer is the word but just not as stiff as regular tray mount
Tofu feels nice with polyfill and gummy mount tho
I appreciate the detailed description but was wondering if you could tell me if you personally think these are ks20u? š
From the pictures yeah
and discription, should we trust it?
idk
Good point. Amazon has a good return policy so I might take the risk
How come thereās only two places I could find selling these?
Gotcha, good to know I've been curious about the difference between the two. I don't know anyone else who currently owns a Tofu to try one out
can I still mod w the regular 60he+ vs the module 60he+
like whats the difference im confused
I guess weāll see on Thursday I just placed the order š
Lol do places sell fake switches?
does anyone know the differences between tofu60 redux and 2.0?
In freaking deed
What is wrong with my stabs/what did i do wrong?
redux is 60he compatible but 2.0 is not
too tight
The screws are too tight?
what stabs?
TX AP screw ins
gimme a few min gotta do smth, will be right back with you
why not just use the stock ones?
So the screw for the plate/pcb should be loosened?
aite thanks!
The Tofu 1.0 is also 60HE compatible FWIW
Wait- now i think abt it, does the TX AP Plate mount have the same problems as the clip ins and screw ins?
Cus I had the same problem momentarily
Idk what the problems are
keycaps should be compatible universally right?
No
is there any new switches that are good sounding? better than the jades
Apparently there's supposed to be some Lekkar 2.0 releasing but we don't know when
One guy said and showed that plate mounted APs did as well but havenāt seen anyone but him mention that, unlike with the PCB mounted APs where it seems to be a 50/50. š¤£
What type of switch is this ? I am new to this modding world. So donāt know a lot. But surly it sounds nice
Picture from ba0ph4nās plate, you can see the plate pins bent inwards towards the switch hole because the hole is too tight for the stabilizers to fit. Thereās a lot of tension on the stabilizer housings making them cave slightly which causes the stabilizer stem to get stuck or slowed down because of the friction.
KS-20T/Gateronās Jade Magnetic Switches
Because I I like to fiddle
If I wanted to just use it stock I'd just keep using my prebuilt lol, am building a new one for fun/to customize
Yeah I might have to go file it some time in the future
for now I just reinstalled the stock stabs to make sure the rest of the keyboard is good to go and ill deal with that in the future lol ty
Itād be this part that needs to be wider: #š§ākeyboard_modding message
Ok what is gateron switch ? Is it like same red, blue ? Just another name ?
Gatcha. On all the stabs basically
Gateron is the brand.
I see
They produce many different switches, magnetic and non magnetic
Does there also lots of variation in magnetic switches?
There arenāt many magnetic switches available yet as HE technology in keyboards is quite new but there are around 4 compatible with Wootingās board at the moment.
And what are those 4?
Perhaps it would be more accurate to say HE technology in a cherrymx like form factor. HE switches have been around since the 60s-70s
Is tofu redux made of aluminum?
KS-20/Lekker (white/orange, teal/yellow), KS-20T (light blue/purple), KS-20U (white, orange) Raptor HE (red).
Yes.
Yeah, hence āHE technology in keyboardsā š
Which only started like 6 years ago afaik.
I mean, they were still keyboards back in the 70s. Just the old tall switch form factor
Which sounds the most creamy ?š
Really?
Yes
Oh wow, I didnāt know.
Eh, KS-20Us Iād say.
Skip to 13:21 for a typing demonstration.
Go to https://tinyurl.com/ybcsjyz2 for an explanation of the Hall effect.
Today we look at a very old keyboard, from 1975. Finally I get to talk about Micro Switch dual-magnet Hall effect switches! Also, there is a nice bit of computing history associated with this keyboard. Hope you enjoy the video!
...
from mid 70s
and they made switches longer than that
pc plate from wooting or some other plate?
i hear TP AP Long Pole screw ins work on PC plate but not FR4 and other plates
They of course werent analog switch designs, but still were nice linears with extreme reliability
wooting's own PC
is ur stabs the long pole version?
ye
hm idk then
the idea was to get long poles for the jades
I just reinstalled stock stabs for now, gonan file the plate later lol
some people had success with that setup and some people didn't it seems
https://telcontar.net/KBK/tech/Hall_effect thanks a lot, I did not know that.
yeah i might dick around with my other wooting and see if it works on it haha
just in case you know about this, do you think brass weight bar is a good thing to have? like I dk if being light is good for keyboard or not, I personally don't really know my current keyboard is considered heavy or light, have no idea why ppl buy weight bars, just because they like heavy ones?
Most who have the Tofu and the brass weight prefer with the weight.
A keyboard sliding on your desk from being too light to get good friction from the rubber pads is... unpleasant.
ok I guess they have reason then, maybe light keyboards shake or slip of surface if you apply some forces while gaming I guess
Been there before
People prefer heavier keyboards for density, to minimize sound resonance within the case and for a sturdy, premium feel.
yeah that was what I think
oh that is a good angle
never thought that before
š
damn if I actually think about it, after all the adjusting and lubing, your keyboard's switches and strings have a resonance would be kinda annoying
Hollow cases can sound good with clicky switches. I probably wouldnt for linears though
Some cases act like a bell almost because theyāre metal and have thin walls.

Hollow is tricky, it can sound good or it can change the sound to something you donāt want. Most of this hobby is trial and error tbh.
Acoustics are hard
Yeah, thatās for sure.
predicting how they behave with anything that isnt a circular cross section tube is unreliable
certainly not something I could manage
With the combination of different materials and the amount of factors.
btw my kind heart fellows, I have been browsing keycaps all day long, havn't found what I wanted yet, I kinda want a double shot PBT key caps like this but the white part instead is transparent
I think I have a weird taste lmao
I donāt know if there exists a white pudding keycap set?
I dk either
Oh
I read it wrong, yes there are keycaps with the white part translucent but those are smokey.
It could look incredibly awkward depending on the switch under it. its probably a gamble that most companies wouldnt really take
There is a cheap set like that I believe but they arenāt high quality sadly.
I found this one is even more crazy, entirely transparent lol
I like it but the symbols and letters on the top is not very visible
wait the c key is glooming
Yea, mid-dark gray lettering on transparent? Definitely not the most legible
I think the C is just beacuse of that weird laser cross being projected down on it. its POSSIBLE they lettering might light up stronger with switch LEDs but hard to tell without those on an actual board
yeah
POLYCARBONATE
I seldom see ppl using this for keycaps
Could be a number of reasons for it, though I dont have the experience with the material to say why
Could be more expensive to manufacture. less consistent result, more brittle, or just has some other property that isnt as valued as PBT or ABS
It probably works better with completely transparent here though
yeah
Whats your guy's preference plate mounted or screw in stabs
PCB mounted over plate mounted any day.
Real
Is it good idea to sand FR4 KBDfans plate to make it fit TX AP stabilizers?
Iām not sure if FR4 is easy to sand or if itāll splinter.
I think it might be fine as you can sand carbon fiber against the grain as well.
The only benefit of plate mounted stabilizers is that you can remove them without having to remove the switch plate first.
i might just pass up gummy mounting
You WANT a respirator
FR4 is fiberglass
You can sand it tho
Last question before i go off to bed but in a standard gh60 housing should i add more aftermarket foam?
Im not sure how much foam is included in the module
Havent opened my box yet
Not possible to answer that since there is no "standard" housing
Sorry
Let me uhh rephrase
In a gh60 compatible case
I didnt get a tofu60 and opted into different brand and also lose out on the internal brass weight
Oh yea would it be stupid to tape mod and foam mod simultaneously aswell?
depends on the case
Mmm okay
Good point.
š
It's fine, lead, asbestos, fiberglass is just our generations version of that.
What benefit do PCB mounted stabs provide? I am under the impression pcb screw in is like the "best"
Screw in stabs are pcb mounted
Yes that much is clear to me
any recommended pudding keycaps?
Jades are KS-20T iirc
Itās pretty easy to slice it with utility knife. Just tried. I think itās the safest way to make it fit TX AP stabilizers
Theyāre tight, clip-ins less so than screw-ins but both are a great improvement over plate mounted stabilizers.
and plate mounted stabilizers are always clip ins?
Like FENlX said, Jade switches are KS-20T, KS-20U are the dual-rail switches.
Are the 20Us basically Lekkers?
Yes, all plate mounted stabilizers (that I know of) are clip-ins but not all clip-ins are plate mounted stabilizers, they come in PCB mounted as well.
Yes, KS-20/Lekker version 2 basically.
Nice! Still should probably use a respirator like Yama said. Just to be safe.
ty, i still get confused on these lol
Plate mounted = Clip-ins, PCB mounted = Screw-ins or clip-ins.
I will
snap ins for plate mount
any tips for modding my new 60HE+?
snap in clip in whatever
take off the catalytic converter, and go straight pipe as well as get a tune to maximizie your horse power and torque
hmmmmmmmmm
Hey did anybody gasket mounted the 60he+ module? Which case did you case
I have it in a tofu redux. I had to switch out my backspace stabilizers for clip in stabs but other than that everything works and fits great.
Gasket mounted in a redux?
I donāt see how thatās possible
Gasket mount not the same as friction/gummy o-ring mount
oh mb I thought they meant gummy mount since iirc true gasket mount isnt possible with the 60he
I heard the Magnetic jade is better than the Milky yellow pro, but is it really worth the extra $65? whatās the difference
Yeah those are two completely different switches, not really worth comparing too
wait whats hall affect
wooting uses magnets for their switches, hence hall effect
U need to look for HE switches for the wooting, normal ones wont work
idk why but i swore i read the milky yellow pro had it
no
yeah im reading it now it doesnt
well i have another question, i see a bunch of types of magnetic switches on the GATERON site, whats the difference between them? is it just the sound and looks
sound, feel, looks, wobble
ahh thank you
id have to watch a video to see what suits me best
Also i saw that Wooting sells a polycarbonate plate, and when you order a TOFU60 redux, you can add a carbon fiber plate. someone else told me the difference is just in the sound, but that it also may cause the actuation point to not read 0.1mm due to the switch pads. is this true?
switch pads?
switch pads are a different thing
they are stuck to the PCB not the plate
it says it comes with the plate
mainly sound, I use switch pads but i dont feel the effect it has on my actuation
someone who uses the carbonfiber plate will know better
im new to keyboarding, so i really have no idea what any of this stuff means, all i know is what i like
I like what people call "thocc" where it sound deep, rich, and smooth. so i just want to know how i can mod a Wooting to make it like that
polycarbonate
Thank you, is there anything else i should add?
lube switches, case foam
preferred switches
rest is experiementation
certain keycaps as well
keycaps is another think i wanted to look into, i like those little round type ones
ill pull up a pic
anyone know of the top of their head the height difference between wooting front and redux front or just if its noticible
these look nice, they say WHYSPXDA profile PBT
i mean just pick what u like
some keycaps sound different but the plastic ones should be relatively similar (unless quality big diff)
if u want really different sounds u would be looking into different materal keycaps like ceramic or metal
Ill look into ceramic, metal are too expensive for me, im alr pushing it with a $350 keyboard
wow that almsot the cost of the switches
the keycaps will usually be more expensive than switches if ur going for quality stuff
if ur just going on amazon and picking out cheap keycaps, then its gna be like 20-40
the vids ive seen plastic will do fine, the switches seem to mae the biggest difference, so ill cheap out on keycaps
is there a channel where everyone post their builds, i was told there was but i dont see it
What are some good all white coiled cables that provide all the features for the 60he? Any help would be very much appreciated ! For a wrist wrest Iām gonna wait until they come out with an a official one here
This is the aesthetic for reference
Just because theyāre magnetic doesnāt make them compatible with Wooting PCB
For example the Gateron KS37Bs do not work with wooting boards even though they are Magnetic switches
They have different physical dimensions
Check the #šŖāmodding_faq for most of your basic questions
More advanced questions can be answered here
Not sure on brand as thereās many to choose from but youāre ideally looking for something shorter than 6ft
Coiled cables can be tricky because the coil usually takes up most of the length and are typically longer than 6 ft
Coiled cables add more resistance
Pssst, straight cables are better
Haha really? Okay Iām barely getting into this world of keyboard and I feel like I went all out on the keyboard but nothing on the cord itself
lol yeah the coiled cable is overrated imo but itās your room setup so do what you like
I saw that the official wooting ones are good for that but sadly the white version of it is not out yet
No no, I honestly wanted advice so this is helpful
I want performance more than aesthetic
Yeah the wooting ones are guaranteed to work, any 3rd party cable youāll have to check specs
From my understanding most of the kinda big name 3rd party brands work
If youāre going for aesthetic and something maybe a bit more custom or personal, you can check out Randallās work from WiredIn
All hand made stuff , shipping takes a bit because of that
Talking about keycaps, 60HE+ should compatible with OEM profile right?
Hey guys, which Case would you recommend for the HE+ Module? I see the tofu redux very often. Would be great if a case comes with foam š
it does
I just ordered it
Well thatās nice š
the module also comes with foam
With Case foam? Thought just between plate and pcb
was trying to get a fancy resin&wood case but it took months to arrive lmao, and I feel like it might be a bit awkward on my all black desk environment
case foam too
Much Love
protagonist looks so good
Im really excited to build that board. Got an ROG azoth with shitty software š
lmao
Maybe just order the tofu redux then with durock v2 stabs
Yeah itās nice
I got a custom Nightcrawler V2 on the way from him
For that price i could just buy the case from wooting tbh š Only thing its not that ācleanā as the tofu but got a flater angle which i like
lol
a part of my spacebar stabilizer just broke off, I have the regular 60HE in a alumaze case. What stabilizers should I get
TX AP TKL Base Kit Plate Mount
Was pulling the spacebar off and I guess I pulled to much to the right side and broke the plastic off one side of the stabilizer
Shitty mistake but it happeneds
Yeah š it still works but I know it will brother me if I donāt fix it
Fight me
Black PC better

Yessssss
DEPENDS...
Black Aluminum better
has anyone tried to put shine through side legend key caps (ex: higround keycaps) on the 60He? If so, how is the shine through? I know the board has north facing leds and the switches mostly arenāt see~through but I want confirmation on whether or not it works.
i was under the impression that higround keycaps weren't shine through
not sure about the keycaps, but you can rotate the switch 180 degrees so that the switch acts as south facing. It makes it a little dimmer, but I've done it with keyboard.
ok thanks!
Bro, 19.99? I am worried about the material quality
I mean, cheap is good, but is that price normal?
but ABS are easy to wear, unless using giga good materials and, the price is gonna be high
I guess I know why
it is cheap because not double shot
okay that makes sense then
i just get my keycaps off aliexpress
if you add tape it will mimic the double shot sound but the pudding keycaps especially space bar sound hollow
i bought gmk clones off of aliexpress, and I think I perfer them over my genuine gmk set
- they're pbt too
dang, sadge I like pudding keycaps
what?
nah
almost more expensive then the keycaps themselves
might as well get good keycaps
do i need to put those stab stopper things in the tx ap clip ins?
nvm was easy
Does this looks good or I make holes for each of those white + signs
And for the two switch stubs
Is that like a styrofoam sheet?
guys, does anyone have black theme 60HE+ modding show case? my mouse is black, I think using white theme on 60HE+ is too eye catching on the desk
my case is tofu redux
black
struggling on choosing fancy keycaps
without breaking the black theme overall

The only time I like topo is computer wallpaper
Everytime I see it on caps, I just think Highground
lmao
ye is true tho
Pretty sure all of us do
Australia - Cafege, https://cafege.com.au/
you guys can still buy the frog mini here and it comes with he wooting plate
yeah, we know. Man I still need drink my coffee from Cafege https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/984799440072220692/1167961783978426498/IMG_0618.JPG?ex=65ff5fac&is=65eceaac&hm=c12fb34e5239176d7b9a370c59794eafd1bb8db7864cb3f70a62f1cf8c6a4c01&
Hey would anyone mind teling me how long it took them to get their raptor switches off geonworks' site? I was grabbing some off amazon but i think they may be a scam...
considering cancelling and grabbing them off geonworks' official site instead despite the insane shipping costs.
Direct from Geon to Australia was less than a week but with express; the switches are OK. I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to buy them
oh hm mk
I'm sure he'll refine the Raptors to coincide with his own HE board
Venom I think it's called
i want them mainly for the heavier magnets tbh
Yeah give them a try but I doubt you'll notice much of a difference. Between the Lekker's, Raptors and Jade the performance all felt the same to me
i've been pressing down my spacebar and A/D keys to make rapid trigger more sensitive (at the cost of actuation) and to me, at least for spacebar, it's suuuper noticable
wdym? the branding isnt excessive at all.
I see, with spacebar being jump in all my fps games, I've yet to notice whether my timing is off or not; same goes for the rest of the keys. But if you wanna experiment, definitely go for it š
yeah i'm just oversensitive to my inputs being off lol
also it was most noticable for stuff like platformers for me
like hollow knight (i'm doing unreasonably difficult modded stuff)
That is something I've yet to try, platform games with the Wooting. So yeah, I see what you mean and how it could be impactful in regard to magnet strength
yep
i still don't feel entirely confident with my double jumps unless i sacrifice like a whole millimeter of actuation distance by weighing down my spacebar as it recalibrates
or even basic jumps
but more-so doublejumps
stuff like this is waaaay easier the more responsive and natural my controls feel
I think I might just to pull out Super Meat Boy and try it on the Wooting. Haven't played a platform game in so long despite my Steam wishlist filled with these kind of games
SMB might not be the beeest game to test drive just 'cause it's got a 60fps cap
Ahh ok
physics are tied to the framerate too to my understanding
Celeste has a mod that lets you disable its framerate cap (its physics are NOT tied to fps, they just capped it for speedrunners and for some reason everyone else just has to live with that)
Stuffed some double sided tape in the space bar see what it does. Kinda imagine itād be like putting hot glue but you could take it out if you donāt like
I put too much lol
put moarrr!
How's it sounding, are you happy with the mod?
It sounds really good
In my ears it got rid of the echo and it sounds pretty facking solid
I might do the same thing to the back space
how did i do? first custom was going for that marbly slightly clacky type of sound. I did pe foam + tape mod and gummy mount + case foam and polyfill. I can still hand lube the switches for maybe a slight improvement or what do you guys think it will make a big diff? using pc plate maybe a nice alu plate would help out for a slightly higher pitch marbly type sound.
I think itās spot on for what ur going for. Getting that kinda creamy and clacky vibe
any other mods you recommend trying out?
sounds good
what case?
Does any stabilizers work with the wooting plate?
Nvm I didnāt see it in faq
Was wondering if these would work
They would.
Not sure why youād want them though.
I got a pcba collecting dust without it the stabilizers and want to sell it complete
Lol i just got the wooting and im barely also getting into the keyboard hobby thingy so im not sure tho you can find a bunch of mods you can try on youtube
I just saw it
Iām dead
that shit looks like those intros everyone had in 2010-2015
The spring is much wider? Or at least it seems
I have the switches
installed on my 2nd woot build
they are quite obviously heavier to press then l45's
a lot less wobble\rattle though, sound is ok nothing special I would say
stock lube job is overdone
i coulda sworn they posted this already
or are they just reposting again since it's closer to the non china release
isn't that orange like ledge used to go against the metal leaf, for tactile, on the wrong side here? the room for the leaf is on the left, not where the orange thingy is
not shaped the right way to be tactile
I know of some weird contactless switches that still have leafs for "the feel"
that's still semi-tactile kind of, since only one contact point, we need Tactile HE lekker switches with 2 contact points, full leaf.
one-corner-point kind of applies uneven (also rotating) pressure, two-point is more symmetrical pressure
I also kind of bet that one-point wears out faster, since you need to apply more pressure to emulate some two-point
no this is a dula rail switch
wont be tactile
just uses 2 rails for less wobble
what's that orange ledge for tho
you can alreayd buy the KS-20U from places like mechkeys etc
and some kbs like the oasis 75 come with it
all switches have that
so you cant put in stem the wrong way
for example on lekker
so what does this leaf really touch tho #š§ākeyboard_modding message
30 mins
LETS GOOOOOOOOO
what colors we all getting
well whatever, not looking for some pseudo-tactile with 1 contact point. need 2-point full HE tactile lekker.
I believe kailh makes a tactile HE switch
but not wooting compatible
sorry not kailh, outemu
alps was only one contact point
outemu has interesting center 2-point tactile seems like
OTM Magnetic Switch SPEC Brown Total travel 4mm Work travel 2.2+/-0.5mm Work force 40+/-10gf Tactile force 55+/-10gf Tactile travel 1.3mm Min trigger force 30gf Min End force 60gf Max Pink Total travel 4mm Work travel 2.0+/-0.5mm Work force 50+/-10gf Min trigger force 40gf Min End force 60gf Max Initial magnetic flux 8
brown and blue ones on this page are HE + tactile
which sounds kinda weird tho ngl
just this pic
why they do this, this seems very imprecise right
work travel travel doesn't matter much, since it's magnetic, but yeah
Tofu redux
they just give massive tolerances so it doesn't matter if a batch is especially shit
at least like Jades seem more precise
Initial Force: 30士7gf
⢠Total Travel: 3.5±0.2mm
well you do loser specs because you have less trust in your product tho, to not be subject to refunds etc.
this is jades, what are these numbers for wooting
Initial magnetic flux: 120±15Gs
Bottom-out magnetic flux: 800±80Gs
wooting supposed to have calibration, but at least nothing calibrated when I tested it
It's Gateron is the first issue
wooting also uses gateron switches
wdym
if anything gateron is still one of the better companies in that regard
yeah but still, maybe something is differnt
