So, I can confirm, med tape on magnet in jades mutes the bottom-out sound almost completely, seems to not affect performance so far. Tape + lubed top housing + sorbothane = almost “silent” kb

a good first step would not be using the budget PC clear top housing gateron is doing on all these switches and using their nylon, milky top, or ink housing

but they're too focused on rgb for gamers as it stands

Ive got a friend of mine who is troubleshooting a board for me that discovered the switches I had in it were significantly overlubed and causing actuation issues. I bought the switches used and never even thought to check them. I'm replacing them with Vertex V1's that another friend has because I just love the sound.

Id start experimenting with the sound dampening choices, (less foam, thinner foam or polyfill is a good start) and while I love GMK keycaps, they arent the best choice for a deep sound. I'd look for a larger profile in a thick PBT.

The screws used are different for each side; my plate (carbon fiber) used a flathead, and the PCB side used a round one. I have not personally had luck using orings with screw-in stabs. The fit would bulge slightly around the stabs and my OCD wasn't a fan (plus it was tough to get in and out).

so im thinking about getting the 60he+ module instead of the pre built, and i would need to get a case for it. ive seen a lot of ppl talk about the tofu60 redux cases, but its gonna cost like $90 just for the case(including shipping and taxes). is it worth the investment for the tofu or is there any decent cheaper options that wont have to be filed down or take a lot of maintenance just to make it fit or not break the module?!?!

Nah they're pretty good, if stem and keycap wobble are something that bothers you, get the KS20u, if you want a good sounding HE switch (least I think so) get the Magnetic Jades

and tbf, the Jades don't have very much wobble at all really either

but they have 3.5mm travel vs 4mm

I like the Alumaze, but I don't own a Tofu either so there's that lol

If you want a heavier case and don't care for the wooting strap then get a tofu

but if you like the wooting strap and brass insert and don't care for weight then the Alumaze is solid
