You dont need them with jades usually either. Save money and enjoy as is!
alr ty!! ill prolly buy the raptors rn cuz i keep fatfingering my l45 š
is the operation force like this
light: l45 - jade - gateron orange - raptor - l60 : heavy
Im not sure but I think @glacial wind might know
i js want a 55ishg 1 tbh
Hello guys!! Is there any good guide out there on how to build custom wooting 60HE?
why not change the actuation?
are you on 0.1?
im on 1.7 already š
idk I imagine fat fingering is more of an actuation issue not weight of the spring
yeah prolly\
but i just dont like having my finger already pressing half of the key
when im not accu pressing]
you got heavy fingers?
sadly
me
i js got hella long fingers
GYAD DAYUM
my middle finger takes up my whole keep in depth
... this may sound like a "childs dream" ... but for whatever reason, I really really want to design a HE K585 left handed FPS keyboard from scratch with somehow being able to partner with Wooting for possible guidance on this project
Sounds like it could be fun!
I believe.
Thank you for sharing your dream.
let them know you have a dream
Martin_Luther_Keeb

how much bettrer than lekkers
Thock check when you get reassembled
Do you still wanna see the jades sound test?
yes yes yes!
@slim drift
thats sounds AMAZING
They feel amazing too
if the wooting stock would be like a 1 how many times better is ur modded wooting
good sound check. I like how it's deployed so I can swap back and forth to hear the diff.
Better feel in terms of percent please?
like the sound and feel overall
fr fr
10000000000000000x
c'mon. be realistic. consumer report style
well guess i have to mod my wooting if so
100% better. I used the switch tape mod which really didnāt feel as smooth as I wanted, but gave me the sound profile I wanted. But this just gives me both
I didnāt do any mods on the Jade switches. Factory lube is really good and has less wobble than lekkers so no switch tape mod needed
OH!
Not the tape mod but switch films
Nonono switch tape mod
gotchoo
yes please
I love how many people are doing this
idk who started it
and its such a pain in the ass
but i did it becuause thockson did it
and his kb sounds good
It really was a pain in the ass
Definitely the mod that makes a difference but honestly just get different switches and you wonāt have to do all that
That tape goes down, into the housing?
yes
just down the sides? Or under the magnet too?
I think I understand...
I've never actually held one of these switches in my hand... So I'm building a picture slowly
NA-Lion is finally on it's way so, hopefully about a week away.....but probs more...
@fluid ravine pretty sure he was the one who came up with it, there is a whole thing abt it in #šŖāmodding_faq
nah I think someone else did
but he's probably the biggest name in the game for it
and made it more well known
but I could be remembering wrong
I case swapped my Wooting 60HE from a Baka60 to a Poseidon PSD60. Mods include:
- Tempest Mod
- Re-lubed, spring swapped, and taped the Lekker switches
- Durock V2 stabilizers, lubed and holee modded
- Handcut brass weight for the cavity, with shelf liner underneath
- Sorbothane foam layer lined with medical tape
- Wrapped the Wooting PCB in a ...
maybe this guy
Nope, but he is in this channel often š
Who was the mastermind
inb4 thockfather man himself
@shell geode
this was how I had to do it, the very idea of putting tape in my housings deals damage to my soul
@shell geode made this mod, he is this the original man himself. I expanded the mod (as in go in depth into the mod and go into more testing) and try my best to popularize it before all the new HE switches came out.
yuh
that sounds wrong without the context
Lmao

Ok ima go back to work (in class)
Stock Raptors compared to stock lekkers? Or hand lubed?
Also do they make backlighting red lol
Hello, that's me!
Master mind!
I just re-lubed and did the tape mod again to my Jades too, pretty tedious process but got to finish it š
ooo, so its effective for the jades as well?
in like the sense of it making a difference
It's not as significant as the Lekkers were, but the Lekkers were super wobbly and pingy to start, so there was more ground to improve from
The Jades still do have a slight spring ping, noticeable to me, so minimizing that feedback was worth it for me, I really enjoy my Woot now and not swapping for my work board
I haven't heard spring ping with any of the three he switches I've used so far. What case do you have?
ayy I still got it, haven't done monkeytype in a while (and not with the wooting since I did anything to it)
I have a Poseidon PSD60. I would say it's not a sound that everyone would notice or care about, which is understandable
if that tape goes down, surely this would eventually cause residue issues..?
i ordered a 60he module and a tofu60 redux, should i use the foam that comes with the module or the tofu?
Your choice really.
not 100% sure on what foam comes with the module but I would say either the module or order some separate foam
the foam that comes with the redux is, imo, not worth using
figured, just wondering if people have a preferences towards one
interesting thank you
module
it's decent foam but it's quite thin and doesn't do much (the redux foam, that is)
If I can remember correctly the tape isnāt super sticky? I donāt really remember tho
the tape will degrade overtime into bits
and it does have an element of stickiness
Sounds about the same
60he Module pc plate with jades vs 60he stock steel plate with jades
I agree, it could degrade over time but unsure how far down the line
I didn't think that through when I did it and shared š
Quick pics before i get my whole setup ready and yeet it in wootstations

Nice!
you know anything about jade switches and if it got any issues with wooting?
No known issues. Use the latest beta firmware
thinking abt issues with stabs
since its 4mm
some ppl say i need a long pole stab
No issues
any stabilizer recommendations
for wooting60he, ISO
dunno much abt them
are durock v2 screw ins good?
Stock stabs
Same as stock stabs
i see
Anyone know how long their jades took to deliver? I ordered them directly from Gaterons Website around a week ago but i still havent had any updates. Located in CA btw
how the fuck some ppl make their spacebar sound so good
Hey, I've ordered the module with a toolkit and keycaps, but cannot find the keycap puller. Isn't it included in the order of one of those?
biggest diff for me was holee mod and balancing the wire
along with lube etc
Here is how I mod my stabilizers. I get asked this a lot of my streams and honestly, I figured why not just record this so I can link this video instead of having to re-explain it every time. I hope you enjoy it. Please remember this video is only covering lubing and installing, some stabs like cherry clip-ins, you'll need to clip the bottom leg...
The majority of the time a good lube job is all you need.
ye havent lubed mine at all
i got them in about a week from the official gateron website, but i didnt get any shipping updates till they arrived pretty much
Did you get standard shipping?
I paid a little extra and they came within a week of ordering
the normal 60HE comes with a keycap puller, but the module doesnt. and because the normal one comes with it they dont include it in the tool kit
i got standard shipping
You should receive them in a week-3 weeks or so
i think it took them like 2 days to process my order, then i got them in 7 days
also, i just realized this wasnt meant for me š¤¦āāļø
wait there were options?
oh yea
i just checked
i probs didnt want to spend an extra 20usd for shipping lmao
you can do expedited shipping yeah, might not be in al regions tho
yeah, 60HE has 6.25u spacebar
I was able to upgrade my shipping even after purchasing
Okay thx
well honestly its been a week now, i wonder if i can still do it
I just emailed gateron asking if they could
i never checked, since i didnt have my module yet it didnt really matter to me, then i got the module and the jades on the exact same day
its going through canada post as well
which i always have problems with
so i guess we will see
Best feeling
When your stuff arrives at the same time
thanks...well, so everyone who has bought a module, has bought a stock wooting too? š
euhm... i cant speak for everyone, but euhm
meyhaps
The majority
we at wooting discord, we simp for wooting
i am one of the ones who hasnt
Iām thinking of buying the module and kitting it out for my girlfriendš«¢
module will be my first wooting product
lol
yeah same
then, get 2 wootings modules i guess
missing keycap puller not gud
yes, i have 1 wooting board, but what about another š¤
do it the painful way
its the only way i know š
next thing ill probably get is one of their cables, and an 80he in a few years
me with 2 custom 60HE's, 2 wrist rests, and 1 cable
hmmm, yes
also, waiting for more cable colours, otherwise i would have 2 already haha
Same^
i mean, black matches everything pretty much
in a few weeks
but fair
yeah it does buttt
they will have white, a purple and blue to match the alumaze colours and a white one
thats totally what i mean
white twice
yeah ill probably either get the purple or white
pink* for the last white i believe lol
hi! will these work on the wooting 60he+ module?
that depends on the switches technically, but i think all module compatible switches are just standard MX cross stem, so should be totally fine
yeah those will work
those are just the standard MX stem, so totally fine
@long anvil
Do you guys lube all the switches and place them all afterwards into the plate?
got it yesterday, this thing is so solid lmao
And what for are those?
They go between the standoff and the module to provide a little isolation
So you finally have your awesome new 60HE Module, but you're not entirely sure how to put it all together? Let's get started! What's in the box Opening the box
KS-37Bās donāt fit altogether, canāt test how Wootingās HE sensors would react to it.
@stray tiger any specific kind of dielectric grease you use?
I hope you didnt buy them to try and test them with the 60HE. It's already known they don't fit.
Oh wait, you got them in another board right?
Got them in the ATK
I expect stem wobble of the KS-20Us to be similar/identical.
There is no housing wobble or rattle on the KS-37Bs, itās really tight.
Anyone who has Wootingās PC Switch Plate is it too tight for you as well?
For both my KS-20s and Lekkers it is tough to press them in and even tougher to get them out.
I dont have a PC plate yet to check but I havent heard of anyone mentioning that prior.
I saw one guy who said it was hard to get his switches out as well. But I didnāt expect this.
Did you remove the PCB from the plate?
No.
Do that first
Shouldnāt have to though.
You def dont have to but it does make it easier
Yeah , I always remove the PCB from the Plate then remove switches. Way easier.
Also, what switch puller are you using? Some are horrible
Moduleās stab lube. š„“
Shouldnāt be as tight as mine is. Itās not the plate jobs alone to hold the switches in tight, the switches help as well.
the flex of the plate can cause trouble installing the switches in
so yes, would suggest doing what tirade said
Talking about tightness, not flex.
?
are you trying to install them?
or am i reading it wronmg
I also ordered from Gateron's website. I ordered on 12/29, it shipped on 1/4, and delivered on 1/10 so 12 days. I live in CA, US so don't know if you're referring to California or Canada.
Instead of lubing a keyboard today, guess what im lubing
The stabs of the module are overlubed x3, also seems like most of the lube is not actually inside the stem.
They didnt look significantly overlubed in that video. Thats standard for most factory lubed stabs
Yeah thats pretty typical
They are, Iām gonna open them later, see how theyāre inside.
Gonna have to disagree on this, my 60HE stabs were like this as well.
But is it overlubed.
The lube is on the plate. š¤£
@fluid ravine Waiting on my capture card to come in the mail, and I'll record a typing test for you! I don't want to record off my phone haha

Whats a capture card š
@fluid ravine Allows me to use my DSLR to record/stream through my computer via HDMI
ATKās
So I just recently figured out how much a pain in the ass it is to do this right if you are gaming at 240Hz 1440p. I ended up not going the capture card route since there isn't one that supports that.
Wooting had some rival keyboards, I believe there was 2 main ones?
It wasnāt Corsair or Logitech, it was a more less known company. Would anyone happen to know what they may be?
I heard it mentioned a couple of times
240hz?! That's crazy, I'm just looking to do 144hz 1440p š
There are not rivals
I think it was called the drunkdeer or something
Drunkdeer a75, a competitor
calder talked about those companies.
There was one more I think
if I need to summarize it in my own words ( not calder). theyre one day flies. they have an alumimumcase. different formfactor. mechanical switches. a web app. they show up are popular for a month or 2 and gone.
Gotcha
The end result is out from DSLR #1 into a 8K HDMI splitter, with a 4k Camlink on both outputs. One into the gaming PC for Zoom calls and the other into the streaming machine. Then to get the gaming PC gaming stream of 240Hz 1440p into the streaming PC I use OBS Teleport
$110, 65%, 899grab, aluminium switch plate and case (bottom of the case is plastic), UI on keyboard (or installable software), rapid trigger, adjustable actuation (0.2mm) and remappable, less rattle on stabilizers and switches (stock vs stock 60HE), worse LEDs, less warranty and less user friendly software.
If you donāt call that competition youāre unconditional to Wooting.
Yes youre right, they are a cheaper, lower quality, less mature alternative.
Gotcha, that's quite a complicated setup haha
@stray tiger Can you tell me where you got the side monitor you have?
It does sound like quite the comparison but it looks like the drunkdeer comes in the 75% option. I personally wouldnāt go over a 65% layout
I was talking about the ATK, not sure about the Drunkdeer as I donāt have it.
Hey @stray tiger, I figured you'd be a good person to ask. Have you purchased second hand keycaps off Facebook market place or somewhere like offer up before? Would you perhaps try avoiding this option?
Ive purchased dozens of used keycaps from marketplaces and mechmarket. No issues if its a trusted seller
Check for shine or damage as well.
Especially if theyāre ABS
These keycaps Iām interested in are brand new and sealed. GMK box, doesnāt look like a clone from the box
Got it, the seller Iām considering isnāt someone Iām familiar with. Just someone selling a set
Yeah but these are sealed
There was a provided receipt from Novelkeys. Reason for the sell was because they sold the board they wanted to put it on and itās been sitting ever since
How much?
Iāll be seeing it in person before making my final decision as well this upcoming Saturday but just wanting to check in first
90$
Great price. Grab them
Thatās a good deal if theyāre new still.
They look legit
Will do. Iāll inspect the box thoroughly and even open it there to verify its authenticity
Theyāre brand new GMK striker set. Been eying it for some time, been a bit hesitant but they do look worth it
This is what they should look like
Thank you, Iāll save these images for reference. I have also been familiarizing myself with the packaging/egg carton-like casing for the R2 striker variant specifically
GMK has only had 2 major casing styles. The first series were plastic, the newer ones are the recycled containers youre referring to.
Yeah exactly, so Iāll try keeping an eye out for those. I also hear theyāre usually all mixed up in the packaging
Old style packing looks like this
Kinda like this? Iāve seen more mixed up boxes
Perfect, noted
Yes thats the new packing
Hereās a better example
Theyāre usually scattered around I hear, the R2 variant
Yeah thats correct
Ok sounds good. Iāll be sure to pay attention to these details when inspecting the box
hi, what are the brass plates for on the tofu redux cases? does it only add weight or does it change the sound too?
aka is it worth getting for $25
Mainly for weight, negligible for sound, add it if you want a heavier case.
ah okay, thank you
i'm building my first keyboard and everything is a little overwhelming
can I dm you a list of what I have in cart already? just to be sure I have everything
No worries. Check the https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399 if you have more questions
Id paste it here in the channel so everyone can give you some feedback
I did my first ever keyboard build 2 days ago and it was easy
Nothing hard at all
@shell geode also Elgato's HDMI 2.1 capture cards are being released on Feb 1st if you dont need a capture card today
Thank you, but most likely out of my budget lol

Switch Foam (are these necessary??): https://www.amazon.com/RUNJRX-Keyboard-Switch-Pads-Poron/dp/B09FDZPVTW/
USB-C cable: Prolly something on amazon
I want the nice Thock sound :)
You wont need the case foam, switch foam or even the cable unless you dont want the stock one that comes with the 60HE
What switches u getting?
Guys, trying to install Long Pole TX AP stabs on the new module, what is the proper way to do that? They also come with washers
Depends on the mounting style
It may sound weird, but from which side should I put in the screws?
ah, the Lekker L60s for now
oh i'm getting just the module since it ships faster
cable doesn't come with it
the module comes with a '1x USB cable A to C' according to the webpage
Bottom.
Only the stabs are threaded, not the pcba
It comes with a cable yeah
ohh im blind
thank you
i saw that it comes with this foam... can i use the individual switch foam on top of that or is there no need?
How you mean individual switch foam?
3rd party switch foam?
these
module comes with both silocon and poron I believe
They could still fit but Iām not sure if they work well with the Lekkers.
IDK exactly how much space there is below the lekkers.
Yes
Sili is stock installed, if you want poron u need to switch them out.
too much foam will take away from the deeper wavelengths I'm led to believe
okay, i wont grab the switch foams
It sounds higher pitch with the sili pad to me.
With Lekkers that is.
$28 shipping for KBDfans š
yeah so 1 layer of foam = good, any more extenuates the higher pitch lengths.
They look thin enough honestly and pin seem to line up as well. Maybe LED not exactly but idk
With case foam and sili pad it sounds higher pitched than with case foam and plate foam.
To me*
I'm just about to order myself, $23.
What I'm trying to ascertain is if that's VAT, import duty etc included.
UK I'm in -.-
please trim your link. everything after .html can be deleted : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005913007417.html
those are garbage trackers
ah
cheers

are you doing switch tape mod with it cause I'd recommend it
time consuming mod that reduces the wobble for the stem
and makes it sound better that way
hold up
^
does that apply to all websites
do i need to recalibrate keyboard after installing different switches?
Plug unplug.
the keyboard recalibrates every time itās plugged in
sounds good, ty
most
I wonder if the switch tape mod still works tbh
like I wonder if the tolerances have gotten better on newer switch batches
Try with no foam between PCB and plate. I've found that to sound pretty good and it's what I'm running currently
what plate are you running?
Aluminum and Steel
No, my module has not arrived yet
ah I see
Man what the Vietnamese are doing with artisans is ridiculous. The level of detail is insane.

Pops spawned me

my people
Do I need to put those golden screws in?
u will need them if ur gonna do tray mount
Do you think that I should go for it?
yes
So just putting all 3 of them in?
u dont gotta
where are the 3
3 standoffs
if u have a pc plate, mansen said its probably better to use the spacebar one
dont have to
dont use the middle one tho
I don't think that I can even put anything there
yea nah
Is that something you can purchase in the US?
It's a raffle each week for usually only a few caps that people collect. Don't fall down that rabbit hole!
Better to follow your advice
I really wanna get into keyboard modding but scared ima break it
Guys raptors or jade switches
Hand lubed Lekker L50
The easy path:
Wooting's PC plate
Re-lube stabilizers
Case swap if you want a lil bling
2 hours max and you're done!
wait another 3 months unless you need switches now
raptors just cause I don't wanna buy and lube new stabilizers
The KS-20u will be coming out before too long. I know that is a switch some folks are waiting on
whats on another 3 months? Whats new?
when are the new springs dropping
can't recall the model names, pretty sure there's like 2 or 3 that's Wooting compatible
you got the sauce that i can read?
you'd have to scroll back 4 days on this channel, I think someone did a list but no idea who

why are the novelties blurred
any kings have the L45 switches and know if they still need hand lubing??? ordered them with 60he+ module and wondering if i should b bothered giving a few hours to lube them
I got a question whats the difference between the 60HE+ Module compared to the wooting 60HE in terms of spec wise
Identical.
The only difference is that we redesigned the PCB slightly to allow for screw in stabs. And the module has those preinstalled instead, as well as our PC plate kit.
Ah got it thanks im rn thinking of swapping out of my Wooting TWO HE to the 60HE so i was thinking on what wld be the best approach
Hand lubing will always be better
Probably so no one makes a knock off version? Idk
did research on springs for a few hours to only find out that the jades and lekkers are using wider springs.
oh okk, was just watching a vid from badseed and he said the factory lub is clean and barely makes a dif when he hand lubed so was just asking š
If you need replacement springs to tweak.
do you know if the springs will be compatiable with the jades by any chance?
I imagine they would be? People are opening jades and raptors to make frankenstein switches.
Got my polycarb case in, gotta wait for the module now
Don't forget to remove most of those standoffs.
Yeah I disagree with that
My buddy got his 60he from EU leeuwin batch and hand lubing still made a major difference
where u found that?
ty
Np
Thanks I might try that out
This might not be the right place to ask. But I ordered the module 60he. This is the first time building/modding a keyboard. I can probably build it myself but does anyone have a good video for putting one together? Thank you
Video? No. Not yet from us at least. Maybe a youtuber has received theirs already? š
So you finally have your awesome new 60HE Module, but you're not entirely sure how to put it all together? Let's get started! What's in the box Opening the box
But here's a quick text and photo guide I whipped together yesterday.
Thank you!
Seed was talking about the l45s.
I havent seen any videos on the module yet beside the ones from badseed like 2 months ago
No one does unboxing video idk why š¤£
I feel like they would get a decent amount of views lol
I will do my fake tripod
When tofu redux came out i thought if i do unboxing i can get a lot of views but didnt work
š
Only 1k view
Thought l60 and l45 had exact same lubing process
No idea but seedtech was talking about the very most recent batches of l45s he didnt mention 60s
I have my l45s in hand I just lubed 10
0 difference, or absolutely negligible at best in my case
With my buddies l60s from EU leeuwin batch it still made a major difference
Figured it would be the same, heard they had the same lubing process
His batch was the most recent to get into people's hands
l45s are more recent i think
From EU orders
because that had an issue
where if you pressed the edges they felt like absolute shit
then they fixed that
I thought that was like 3 months ago though
I thought that was an issue far before EU leeuwin was produced
it was awhile ago yeah i think 2 or so
I'm sure the lighter spring also plays a part it why they feel better
Probably feels a lot smoother simply because of the lighter spring
Is there any progressive switch spring out yet?
It'd be so nice for maximising accuraty with DKS
can you put the wooting foam in the tofu redux 60? Or do you have to use th kdbfans foam
nah you can use the wooting foam you just have to peal off the smaller layer
Damn bro. Didnt even see the smaller layer thanks š
no worries
Anyone putting there 60 in a cyberspace b-box60?
Sure. If you don't mind pulling teeth.
Needs some amount of permanent modification to extra standoffs with pliers and cutters to fit a 60HE without damaging the PCB components (leading to a dead board)
This example uses the Cyberspace, neon purple case as an example, but this should be identical on all colorways of the case.
Is this for a regular 60he or a module?
Same difference.
Why advertise it on the site?
Why advertise what?
You lost me.
At what point? I asked if anyone was putting there module in a case that was advertised to being accessable on multiple marketing posts and I find out for the first time it's like "pulling teeth" and it's not compatible out of the box
The parts have been purchased months ago
It's a compatible case after all, but needs modifications
its like pulling teeth in that yo uliterally need to pull standoffs out
but its not that hard if you're not an idiot
In not really worried about the challenge of cutting plastic
I was more upset about how it requires irreversible damage, a small disclosure on the site would have gone a long way
Where did they say itd work
Those are obvioisly heavily modded keebs
Obviously
Thats like saying bmw shouldnt advertise/do photoshoots with modded cars lmao
Wooting literally have a case compatibility list it isnt their fault you didnt check it.
Where are the signs of fabrication?
Thry have an official case compatibility list
Its on you for not checking
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
is there a place for ppl looking for wooting 2he mods?
Link it
Can you link the case compatibility list?
Thanks
Has anyone tried to spray paint the accent piece on the alumaze? I want to spray paint mine and want to see how others did it and how it ended up looking
im not sure about spray paint, but some people have vinyl wrapped it
for what are the gummy rings again on the module I once read the answer but I dont remember anymore
They thin ringhs are for placing on top of the standoffs before mounting your module into the case
yea that it was, thank you
if I have pcb mount stabs, I put them on the pcb and after just place the top plate down onto them right?
yeah
alr thank u
Anyone know where I can find good quality silver color keycaps? preferably blank if not thatās ok
Hundreds of places. What's your budget and where are you located?
does a switch puller like this work?
Yes.
also do i need do buy diff stabs when buying the raptors
Itās not needed for the Jades, itās easier to use them with long pole stabs but not necessary.
alr thanks for the info
Raptors donāt have a shorter travel distance so itās no issue for them.
12 g difference

I love when people come in and say "No budget" since they usually don't know just how expensive this hobby can be lol
its the same with like audio and stuff its funny
iāve noticed itās gotten progressively more expensive as i continue to look for parts 𤣠last thing i need are the keycaps
i want something the match the beastx i got in silver
I saw someone comment on a rainy 75 review saying 120 is expensive for a keyboard and in my head i was like "You know nothing"
;o
yayyyy
iāve been using a k55 corsair with membrane switches for the past 5 years so id thought i treat myself a bit
sounds like any hobby
I mean the best part abt the wooting is not only is it the best keyboard for gaming, there is also so much you can do with it
Oh man using a membrane keyboard for 5 years
yea lmao takes up half my desk too, also been using the same mouse logitech g502
due for an upgrade
I am conflicted. Since I have been daily driving the 60HE, I don't find I miss the function keys.. but I do miss the arrow keys. how much I would like to have had them remove the top row... but have a 3 column x 2 row print/home/end area with arrow keys. That being said, I find that I have a slight inclination to being a Wooting fanboy of sorts regardless.
so a cycle7 .-.
@tawdry tree Saw you finally got your module!! Saw u also mentioned the stabs being heavily lubed
Yes man, were yours overlubed as well? and how did they sound, any rattle?
Still waiting for mine to ship
65HE wen?
i had no rattle ( i think )they were a little over lubed i think.. this is also my first custom keyboard.. i did feel like the stabs were very loose idk if thats normal
The stabs are very lose.
Yeah thats what i got super wiggly/loose.. however i didnt have any lube on my plate that i recall. You got any plans to swap them?
I also insta cleaned them and lubed them again myself
I already expected this as my 60HE came like this as well. I have TX screw ins and staebies on the way.
I wouldāve really liked it if it came w/o stabs, save a lot of cleaning.
Luckily itās just 205 and not xht
Ah nice, when they comin in? Im curious of the difference.. Might be grabbing some up then aswel.
How do you properly even clean that? just a bunch of paper towels?
I just use a towel with warm water to clean the switch plate. The stabs you can just take out and clean with warm water as well.
Staebies should arrive in a week or so. TXs I already have.
Just waiting for my Jades and Raptors to arrive then Iāll finish the build.
are the staebies also screw in, that you orderd? Im really curious which route youll take. ill be keeping my eye out in the chat, might sway me one way or the other..
Im currently using Raptor switches.. very pleased with them. they def need to be hand lubed. it's like a dry desert when you open em xD
Staebies are screw ins yes. From the sound tests Iāve heard Iāll most likely use Staebies for 3U/below and TX for the space bar.
As Staebies sounded a bit more high pitched on the space bar
Compared to TX
Staebie tolerances are so tight that Ive had a few I needed to replace. if they work, they seem ok
someon know how can i take appart the screw in stabs to lube them ?
Unscrew, unclip the wire and take out the wire, the stem will come out.
owh really? damn that's unfortunate if you gotta send them back.
Yeah i'm not sure what ill do. The ones that come with the module were just so loose.
TXās are a good route
Staebies arenāt in stock anywhere in EU either so..
As of now.*
Yeah when ive looked around before to see what is available couldn't find them.. Where did u order your TX stabs from?
From MinoKeys
Only one I could find who had them in stock.
Almost all stabs are can be made to sound good, usually with just a solid lube job. I think I have 10 or 15 sets of stabs in my drawer from 4 or 5 different vendors and they all sound similar when lubed right
Ah alrighty thanks. i relubed the wooting screw in stabs that came with the module with their lube kit.. Not sure if you have any better reccomendations?
Their lube kit is great for the money. Its more about how you lube them. Follow this video and youll be golden. The syringe is clutch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxHb6CJc9V8
Itās the amount of work you have to put in to get to that point what makes or breaks it for me.
Sure Durocks can sound good
But to get there
Like I said, just lube most of the time
takes a whole lot more than TXās for example.
I lube them the same. There are rare cases when a wire is bent or something like that but it happens across all brands
Ha nice, this was actually the video i was watching to learn how to lube them, i just didn't have the syringe
Thats the chef kiss
did it make a difference?
Looks like i might be grabbing myself a syringe and some TX stabs. Thanks!!
mine were perfect out of box
Bent wire? What bent wire? š
i think wooting did an amazing job on the stock screw ins
Yeah def made a difference. Made them sound deeper for me atleast
sadly i didnt record a before and after
Okay QC is crazy.
Wooting's QC is some of the best actually
?
Wat
Recently wooting QC has been stepping its game up massively not sure where you pulled "okay" from
Beats any major brand I've had experience with in the past year, unironically
my left shift stab was acting up a little by getting stuck when pressed down but when i relubed them all i had no issues.. i was planning on relubing them anyway so
Since this is also my first custom keyboard... ( the past 6 years ive been using a ducky one 2 mini) im very happy
bhahaha its def a big change up.. one 2 mini with silent red switches
You having issues doesnt make wootings qc just "okay"
okay yeah i def didnt have this issue
The right side is perfectly fine, left however is not. Most likely bent wire.
Itās not a fault.
If that's the case then it shouldn't have passed QC
Lmao
Nothing has a 100% QC rate
Outside of a few small niche things
^
Or, maybe the QC passed fine and something happened during shipping, when he lubed, when he started pulling on the stabs with tweezers, etc.
Itās not a fault as my 60HEās stabs were exactly like this.
60he stabs are not supposed to be good
And I donāt think any company QCs stab rattle.
they are just average stabs
They are actually quite good stabs
I'm referring to the example I replied to.
compared to other offerings yeah, alone ehh i dunno about good
Id say above average
I have noticed recently theyve been much mo consistent
More* the people that have been posting in #archived_wooting_60he have gotten some pretty good stock stabs on regular 60hes
Average in prebuilts
60he is a prebuilt yes
Thing is the Module shouldnāt be average.
it isnt marketed as a custom keyboard
The factory lube job is usually all that needs to be corrected to make them sound great
Module isn't average, the stabs on the module are good
You getting a subpar unit does not make the module average/bad
Even badseedtech said the stabs are great, and out of the 5-7 people I know with the module theirs are all good, and they're all users of TX and Durock stabs
I'd even argue that he got a subpar unit.
If your wire is bent you can overlube now and donāt hear a rattle for a week but itāll be right back.
If your wire isnt bent and the lube is inconsistent, it can rattle also. Doesnt mean your product is subar or below average
its a very simple fix that someone buying the module should be able to apply in a couple of minutes
its literally aimed at enthusiasts.
(Unless the wire is bent)
if its just inconsistent lube that doesnt make your unit or your stabs bad, at all
BENT WIRE MACHO TIME
(Over)lube seems consistent, at least with my Module.
I actually do have a before and after video the left one is before the right one is after
Bent wires happen but are pretty rare. From my personal experience, maybe one needs tweaking out of every 20-30 wires
If you can put the module in a case, and apply switches & keycaps you can take a few minutes and $5 to lube your stabs to your liking
are these stock l45s?
no lubed raptors but im hammering on them pretty hard
i was gonna say they sound good lol
they sound pretty consistent to me
you didnt press the edges of the spacebar at all
redo the after but tap the edges
they sound fine
the only thing that throws me off is the backspace sounds a little high but im a noob so idk
For that exact reason it shouldnāt have came with stabs IMO, the fact that it comes with stabs would suggest theyāre good as is.
because 95% of the time they are good as is
Horrible assumption
Will do after my pizza is done.. else oull be hearing my combi oven xD
i doubt they factored stabs into the price too much, itd probably still be around the same price
and its just filmed on an iphone so
Itās a fair assumption I think, itās aimed towards enthusiasts, not towards people who donāt care.
With the 60HE that is fine, as itās aimed more towards functionality.
Thock is there a downside to longpole stabs with switches with a 4mm travel?
So let me make sure I understand you. Your experience, which doesnt seem to be the norm for the majority, means that the product is subpar, qc is subpar and Wooting shouldnt even provide stabs with their boards?
iPhone mics donāt capture keyboard sounds well š
It's that or a sm7b mic xD take a pick
No, I didnāt say subpar thatās Jās word. I think that because it is aimed towards enthusiasts who value every bit of their keyboard it shouldāve come without stabs. Or great stabs that you do not have to touch anymore.
From my experience, lose stabs even if overlubed will require relubing once in 8-12 months or so as they become more noticeable.
I disagree and would be willing to bet the majority would disagree with you that it shouldnt come with stabs just because you feel like they werent lubed properly.
even if they came with tx ap stabs or something along that line
someone somewhere would have a qc issue
it wouldnt change anything
ALL stabs need to be lubed properly. Regardless of brand
Show me a pre-built keyboard and Ill show you someone who had to tweak their stabs
Youāve seen my stabs, you donāt think theyāre overlubed?
The module is not a prebuilt, thatās my point.
I cant judge based on your video
My 60HE stabs were exactly the same.
But whether they are or arent doesnt change the fact that saying Wooting should only provide stabs that are perfect and dont need lubing/tweaking is unpopular
Also another fun fact, I own 4 60HE boards and have the stock stabs on all but one and on that one I change one stab because when lubing I dropped it and my dog chewed it up.
MY STAB NOW
They all 4 sound great. Doesnt mean there arent some that arent. Just means your case isnt the norm.
finally, some good fucking food
lol
Spend a day in any of the large group buy boards and see the chaos that happens when new to keyboard people are trying to install stabs
Witness that enough and youāll know why wooting made the right choice to have stabs included
Well thatās the thing too, youāre only gonna hear from the people with issues. The people with no issues wonāt come into a chat room/group and say anything most of the time. So youāll only see the ānegativeā and then thatās all people see and think.
I literally have/had access to the Wooting helpdesk when they needed help catching up from all the orders and I know for a fact that people complaining about stabs is a non-issue.
Right exactly
Itās just more people will hear from the negative issues than from the hundreds of people without any issues
Well i thought the loose stabs was normal/same with the amount of lube on them until Aligner posted his videos. thats just cuz im a noob š
For sure, but even those who would complain didnt complain enough to make a blip on the radar. Which means the number of people who are unhappy with their stabs is extremely minimal.
My point is; very few stabs come in perfect, most require tweaking to get them perfect. From Durocks to TX to Staebies I havenāt had one that was perfect out of the box. Because stabs affect your keyboardās sound and feel massively itās very rewarding to tweak them to your perfection. I think most can agree so far. Thatās why I wouldāve like it more if the module came without stabs, just barebones like many keyboard kits.
Yeah thatās basically the point Iām trying to get across. The group with issues is usually very small but if thatās all people see then it seems bigger than it really is
Again, that would be an unpopular opinion. If you're going to lube/tweak your stabs anyway, why wouldnt you want some quality ones included?
he probably thinks the stock stabs drive the module price up.
You can either choose to use them or tweak and install your own
he probably thinks module would be $30 cheaper no stabs lul
Itās not an issue by the way, I expected this thatās why I already had other stabs on hand. Just sharing my opinion.
I re-recorded my video @untold wigeon @stray tiger hopefully this gives you a better idea what I got
Sounds pretty good
Sound like I would expect
Thatās fine too but then have them in the box, unoverlubed so the user can tweak them without having to clean them first.
Yeah right, thought so too. but the backspace its higher pitched that normal?? i got no clue
they dont come overlubed most of the time dudel ol
ey yo, that my board
literally every single person ive seen with module has been positive
Stabs are like the one thing I never get peopleās obsession with changing for no reason. Most stabs are perfectly fine, even mediocre stock stabs arenāt usually hard to get good these days
every sound test stock has sounded great
Left of space sound more rattlely than the right but maybe Iām going schizo. šš¤£
you are an outlier
Thereās probably 10,000 people who are fine with their stabs and like 5 who arenāt lol
Can you share yours?
I know this is super off topic but you guys know of some other people who stream keyboard building/modding beside alexotos?
i will when i get it
wait wtf, and a last legend aswell
yeah irl they sound exactly the same
does taeha still stream?
No uncommon at all. If you want to reduce the frequency a little add a little quake putty inside the key cap. https://www.amazon.com/Quakehold-88111-Museum-Putty-Neutral/dp/B0002VA9NA/ref=sr_1_1
My 60HE stabs were the same, so itās not a 1/1 thing but Iād like to see othersā.
I like this
š
No but the amount of people who have āissuesā with there stabs is probably very minimal like Tirade said.
haha yeah š loving this mouse
And its $4
lmao
HAHAHA AYOOOOO niceeee
If anything my wooting stabs had a little more lube than Iād normally use myself
I only got diff keycaps hehe
yeah, but close
looks clean
yeah close aha thats cool wait what mouse do you have?
i guess im not the only one who went with the black/silver combo
saturn pro xxl?
Was it well spread? Inside the stab stem as well?
normal saturn xxl
Mine didnt have too much, it just wasnt consistent on the wire. I just spread it out a little to coat around the bend
ah damn xD that wouldve been insane if u also had same deskmat
he did a few days ago but hasnt really in the past month
thats my second setup tho, i got a black on on my main. so could get even closer then the red if i wanted
Yeah I did same, just spread it out a bit better when I was taking mine apart
Could be, I think same things were said about the 60HE although many didnāt care for the sound of the 60.
I'm sure some of that is due to fresh lube settling during shipping, especially when the boards get hot during transit and the lube warms up. Just a guess
Do you know if stems are lubed by hand?
I also think some of us are asking for too much , cause we all have different preferences/perspectives on what we think is a good stab or lube job, whatever. Itās a machine in a factory at the end of the day. Itās gonna do a decent enough job to please the average user.
From factory.
Itās not gonna be perfect for all of us
Yes, and thatās fine for the 60HE to me but not for the Module IMO!
Dude lmao
Having them without lube in the box I wouldāve liked a lot more.
You're literally the only person I've seen with module stab issues
as someone who is very entry level into the hobby, im happy it comes with the stabs
I'm 100% ok with people having high expectations, what I'm not ok with is people making blanket statement about things like product quality, that then lead to users buying new stabs when it's not needed 99.9% of the time.
maybe you wouldve, but a lot of people wouldnt like that
Itās not an issue as I said before.
Why not?
Not what I did.
Perfect example (and I know you guys see it) there are 40+ people a day in here asking where to buy long pole stabs for their Jades and the majority of people do not need them. Plus when they eventually change switches to something other than a jade, those LP stabs are going to be a headache.
If thatās what you mean.
Literally
cause a lot of people are gonna leave them as is, so if theyre not lubed its gonna be shit. now its good, and if you want great you do it yourself
Thatās what I said! š¤£š¤£
All because 1 guy said he needed them and now everyone thinks they need them
Hence why I always try to tell people to TEST what they have first before buying a laundry list of mods and parts
nah, buy before you try it right...
the l45 stem works for the franken geons right?
ye
Lmao thatās what it seems like half the time @old swallow
Doesnāt the same go for switches, keycaps and case? š¤£
I see people with a list of 20 mods and they havenāt even tested their boards yet
im not exempt from that, but ill just deal with that later lmao
I think for newer to keyboard people changing stabs for no reason seems to be some sort of weird right of passage
yeah, thats why switches also come pre lubed
for people who dont want to do it themselfs
They do it then realize it did nothing because most stabs are fine and perform almost the same when tuned well lol
youre failing to make a point here
100% when i just got started i had a laundry list of shit i wanted to do.. what have i done now.. i lubed switched/stabs, use the tofu foam+polyfill and i got no complaints š im a happy chap
Straight from the modding FAQ:
Q: What mods are recommended for the 60HE and which ones should I do?
A: While there are dozens of possible ways to modify your keyboard, some are simpler than others and many have a greater effect on the feel or sound than others. Before you start modifying your keyboard it's important to ask yourself "What am I hoping to accomplish with this mod, and will it provide the fix or change I am looking for?". Itās also advised to try doing mods one at a time. While these mods are considered āsafeā there ARE times when a mod can have a negative impact and cause input errors. Taking these mods one at a time allows you to test before and after each mod so that you can easily determine if something goes awry and what caused it.
It doesnāt come with switches, or case, or keycaps. You can all add that separately.
yes, you can also add other stabs if you want, but you were talking about the lube right, not the including of stabs in the first place
The worst was when someone came in here saying people needed to clip their stabs and then for weeks we had people upset because their stabs were too rattly and they ended up needing to replace them.
bout time to rewatch the movies
Itās a tough point, you mean people whoād add switches, a case and keycaps wouldnāt add stabs?
The amount of people I saw who clipped their stabs lmao and Iām like āuh⦠you didnāt need to do thatā
Itās impressive how fast people copy paste advice without testing it or really knowing why theyāre doing it
Pack mentality
A sticky note in Discord would be good for that. āREAD #šŖāmodding_faq !!!ā
Itās one thing to test stuff and try it out yourself but to see someone do something and just copy it without knowing or understanding why they did it , is another thing
Id love a perma sticky that says read the pinned messages lol
people would add different stabs if the board didnt come with any, but this is fine for most people, so why not have them, otherwise it just makes it more complicated for a lot of people.
Maybe they did it cause the acoustics in their room bothered them, the acoustics in your room may be different lol
I kinda cringe a little bit when people have like 20 different mods copy and pasted they say they are going to do
Then some people would buy the wrong mounting type, wrong spacebar size, etc etc
Maybe, I guess weāll never know..
If you're reading this, congratulations. You found the stickeys, now read the rest
Alright, ima go put 50 layers of tape and foam in/on/ and around my keyboard. See ya guys
yep. its good to include the stock stabs, cause 95% of people (including me) just use those. then the people that want to lube them can do that, and the people who want to switch them out for something else can do that. but theres no loss in adding the current ones
Iām happy enough that they didnāt come with xht.
you get the module yet cam?
I used it once, never again.
No sir, February
oof, i think i was one of the first to get it
EU is first
sniffing the finish line
im in NL, so even firster š¤
Us povels in the US are part of the suffer gang
Basically
Itād be good for these stabs itās just a pain to clean, 205 is a lot easier.
oh, and you get any response in regards to the black pc plate?
so, i guess you got another white one for free
when did u get yours?
ha nice we got it same time
from nl
same batch as u brother
just unlucky I guess
ooh haha, didnt even see that
did you confirm adress as soon as you could?
Yeah
hmm, idk then
gbhaha insane that's funny
i confirmed my adres within 3 minuts of them sending out the mail
too much complaining in wooting discord, they delayed your order on purpose
š¤£
They took it on an extra joyride across nl
see, i always simp for wooting, so i get it quick
I begged for it
Prob dhl sending it across europe first
you just have to buy ā¬500 worth of wooting products first, then you get it a day quicker
maybe...
nah, gotta be a wootwhale atleast
Yeah maybe.. mine did come with DHL.. im so thankful it came on saterday last weekend else i wouldnt be able to use it for like 2 weeks
i got it from DHL aswell, my brother works there now tho, maybe he had something to do with it
100%
my brother would hide the package
but mathieu ruined it, i cant say i was the first to get it
lol
haha sorry
Ill be the first NA trust
insert copium frog

Does anyone know if the newly released 60HE+ would work with frog mini without a custom plate?
My understanding is that the custom plate is needed for 60HE internal because the stabilizers were plate mounted for the 60HE, so the default plate would not work, but the 60HE+ is PCB mount.
eurhm, we need an expert for this one, i got a birthday to be at, peace āļø
Have fun!! Happy birthday to whoever it is š
ill tell my dad happy birthday from some stranger on the internet lmao
ok byeeee
You need a custom plate. Plate file is available
Won't work with ISO module though
I have not received any answer yet
Not that I am expecting 50 š
hi there, do you know if the default frog mini plate would work with the upcoming 60HE+ (PCB mount stabilizer version)?
Are the switch cutout on the wooting plate different than stardard switch cutout on most custom keyboard plates?
won't work
do you have a link to the plate file?
It will work except for the ISO layout
because the switch is not binding the PCB and plate together? like the regular mech switches?
on regular mech switches you have metal pins
I am shopping for the ANSI layout
that are helping the connection
will the two legs provide enough friction to hold them together?
ah... ok... then i might need those standoff screws to keep them together...
is this the one you used? or it is the one I should use.
#š§ākeyboard_modding message
icl i dont get y ppl lube hall effect switches, prelube js fine
I have a custom one which I personally would not recommend in the way I got it
though I made improvements to it, the updated design I have is untested
the one you linked afaik is known good
sounds good, thanks for the help!
sorry, one last question, any trouble with the usb cutout fitting? does the PCB usb plug align perfectly with the frog mini case?
do you know if this will work with the 60HE+ module? Since the 60HE+ has pcb mount stabs, will the plate block off the stab housing?
