It's pretty good but I can hear those he switches. I hope the jade switches help with that.
agreed, however i think this is probably the closest we are gonna get, alongside the jades
I’m curious to see per key latency tests for it
In the past latency is what meletrix wasn’t best with
$99 dollar module seems fun '
I pre-ordered one back in Dec so I'll be checking all of this when it arrives.
wait the module comes with white stabs
thats like the only thing sticking out under my white pom keycaps, the default black stabs
I really should grab a module to try since I have the zoom75 and the 2 key module add on that fits for it too - but spent way too much on random fun buy stuff this month already
bro save money for the 80
80 already got money put aside for it
The robot massage chair I bought may have affected the fun spending budget this month more
Look what came in the mail today
nice
anyone ever consider getting some pom ramunes and making a breaking bad keyboard 🐴
Just got my Magnetic Jade switches LFG
I’m thinking about buying a SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini in the meantime before my wooting module arrives in 3 weeks, should I mod one and then return it when my 60he+ arrives?
Remember all you guys modding your wooting to put switches south facing, and not north facing like I see a lot which makes sound worse for cherry profile
I am using GMK so
it wasnt for sound either right, it was because some switches can have interference?
im using cherry profile and its totally fine with the lekkers
It was both, and generally like they've said 99% of keycaps don't interfer, but if you're already modding and going the extra step as well as not using rgb. Might as well just do south facing
3 hours and 15 minutes in time for dinner
are you trying with raptor first and then try it with lekker stems?
yesss
it is just the same yellow cable for the 60HE+ Module btw
😭😭 if only i lived in eu
Tbh wouldn’t know since noone has it yet but I would assume it is unless they changed it like for the two he and uwu
@old swallow It's stated clearly on the Module page. Same cable as the 60HE 😄
someone already got their module and its the same cable
they posted it in #🕒│waiting_room
This isn’t an issue anymore
Still tho no reason to use north facing imo if you’re doing no rgb keycaps
Already pulling it apart so might as well go extra step and do south facing
lol what
And yes, if it’s for RGB , that’s fine
But it doesn’t affect keycaps anymore
That’s an old issue
And I use GMK sets on my wootings
No issues
so which way do i put my switches when i build it
Whichever way you want
North is fine. If you have ISO make sure the enter is west facing.
all mine are upside down facing 😤
Keep them north facing then
okok
Wooting PCB LEDs are north facing
i wouldve thought theres only one way
If you wanna lower brightness or the RGB affects your keycaps in a way you don’t like, then put them south facing
okay ty
Yeah I don't use RGB at all with mine so I'll keep it south facing because no reason to do north, but cool to know that it's not really a problem with newer stuff. I knew long pole was fine because of the stem not bottoming
Yeah I did south facing for one of my GMK sets cause I didn’t like how the RGB affected them but now I don’t use any RGB
You guys see this btw? Switches could possibly dethrone the jades for the moment when they show up:

来月にNeo Studioからこのキースイッチが発売される。

the neo lavenders
To me personally, they have a similar hi-fi sound to jades
I like them tho, they’re still different
I've just ordered the GMK Jamón 2 Base kit. Would love the novelties set to go with it but can't find them in stock. Anyone know where I might be able to find?
r/mechmarket is your only hope or the discord for it
@fluid ravine let me see one of ur switch taped switches
lol
ok
Trying to find whats wrong with my switches .-.
So... Bandaid or paper cuts on the sides of the stem? 🤔
are they wobbly? or whats the problem
Tysm
Finding out why it sounds inconsistent
bc the tolerances arent tight on the switches
Well yeah
I have switch tape mod on and it may be inconsistent
Might be because some tape is smaller in width than others
Handlubing is just not realistic at mass production size.
They'd do just as light of an application as a machine.
I said that because it was stated on the website and calder debunked that on stream
Put headphones on while gaming and you won't hear the inconsistnecy
It said it was hand lubed on the website lol?
Where?
Just says "Pre Lubed: Yes" on Gateron
i just ordered my jades last night....
it was in the past, or somwhere it claimed
Hmm, interesting I never saw that
I mean the lube job on them is really good and consistent so I'd almost believe it lol
But yeah like Mansen said, it's not realistic at all
perhaps a translation error?
no theyre not stupid
could be, i dont think anyone would buy the fact that one of the largest producers of switches would hand lube them
but like what if when im typing it to hear the sound 😩
finally came
im guessing you got the module
yes
KS-20U Switches late January/early February on AliExpress for anyone interested.
are those the dual rail ones
is there anyway to make the wooting 60he less stiff
no, i said its yellow. i have my module
im probably one of the first since i live in the netherlands
oh wait u do?!
Niceeee
didn't know they already got delivered
@quiet bay this is what happens when i dont mod a keyboard for a month and yes it sounds medicore to me. The number keys needs life support 🗿
AND NO MY DESK IS NOT DIRTY, ITS JUST BUBBLES
WE POPS ZAH BUBBELS
Atleast gasket performance go hard
I LOOVE POPPING ZA BUBBLES
Not really tbh due to the plate design and needing standoffs
oh ok
Pc plate makes it slightly softer but not by much
Can only do so much with tray mount and mounting points across the whole plate
i dont really notice a huge difference in feel with the PC plate. its mostyly for sound
hehe
thats softer than my bed
Gummy Mount (Friction Mount)+Polyfill as case foam or any foam that is soft and can bounce or whatever
But if you have money, you can buy a PSD60 Gasket Mount case and print your own Gasket Plate compatible for the board
Yes.
real
ok ty
yep
Any sound test of them on billibilli or anywhere
Yes, there’s one or two but I don’t have the link.
KS-20U?
In hindsight I wish had I had done psd60 over frog mini but it is what it is
You can hear them on KBDFans Takka60 as well.
Yes.
ah
You can buy them already on taobao
ic
psd60 tray mount?
just installed the jades in a friends stock 60he (stabilizers lubed) and the sound is so much thockier. wobbling is crazy better and feel also. i love it.
I cant wait to see how it sounds / feels on my module with pc plate
no issues with the spacebar with shorter stems
Does anyone knows if the Holy60 case from KBD is compatible with the Wooting 60HE?
It is.
spacebar sounding good
Thaks
switch carrying it
This one?
Yes.
man the spacebar is crazy. i wish everything sounded like the spacebar 😄
Gasket
ah
whats tadpole mount like
i forgot how the system works
It’s like a softer top mount
use like little cups right?
Essentially
what do you have in your build so far?
got a sound test?
damn you type fast as shit, but really solid.
thanks
are you using lekkers?
yep, still using the lekkers
just a weebit but
i got aluminum plate on the way and then the jades
think that will be the combo for a while
haha still surprised how im still holding on to dear life
sound good 👍
wtf did you do?
even with the medical tape mod my board didnt sound that good
pc plate + mlv foam in the bottom
I need cherry to make some HE switches so i can get wooting to sound like my customs
wooting pls collab with cherry
lmao
would get you away from gateron's bs too
thats a first
this is what i want in my wooting
GH60 Alu Case (Tofu V1 Clone)
Lubed Lekkers
3 Layers Switch Tape Mod
Lubed TX AP Plate Mount Stabs (Krytox on Housing and stem, Nothing on Wires)
PC Plate
Tempest Mod (1 layer)
Glorious GBPT Keycaps
No Plate Foam
Polyfill
Gummy Mount
simple stuff
use to be alot of shit but found out a way to make it sound better or the same with less
I have AP stabs but I feel like it sticks out a little
Nope
the oring
how so
idk I think I did something wrong
was trying to do it in stock case
but it didnt fit at all lol
maybe I have wrong ring
what do you have and what were you trying to do
you were the one that ask me if you could gummy mount in a stock case, is that correct?
yeah
I think you mentioned it's possible
but I couldnt make it work
ah
I feel like backspace area was sticking out too much
i remember some how
or something
oh yeah I do
have i told you that you need it to be compressed for the ring to fully fit into the case and module
the plate foam yeah
cus since its not compressed it would have the oring stick out by alot making it extremely hard to insert the module into the case with the ring
but if you put force and installing it correctly, it will be possible
I might give it a shot again
the standoff next to the backspace btw makes the oring sticks out a little
but you can press it in without a problem
gonna lube the jades today so gonna do it at the same time
here
ahh yeah that was my exact problem
I'll press it in more
Heres a solution to your problem, if you're using plate foam. Have the gummy oring sit around the module with the foam for like a few minutes or until it compress enough so you can insert it, or you can do no foam like some of us and run it liek that. It wont affect the magnets at all so you dont have to worry. You might even like the way it sounds, who knows.
ye I might test the configs
with silicone I assume compressing it might be hard
but I am using the regular foam rn anyways
silicone wont compress
its impossible to use gummy mount with silicone
Okay i said it wasn't muich difference than tofu but that was a lie
sounds good
@red igloo this is now
sound even better
yeee
i was comparing my sound test as i was like tofu vs frog mini not much different
yeah nah i was just mis-remembering

HAHAHA nah but first need some money and then idk what to buy
How ? Didn’t ppl said we needed to swap to tx stabs ?
it's just potential to be weird
it's fine with long pole and normal stabs
you kind of put it on and then do this balancing thing is all
worried about that too, but no need to do anything. at least in my case
I just did this and ngl it's a bigger difference then I thought it would be
Hello everyone, I just received my Alumaze60 and i'm wondering where do I have to put these ? Thanks
On the standoffs. Optional.
These ? Or on the pcb ?
Like I said - Either put them on the standoff. Or on the PCB bottom side where the screws go through. Literally the same end result.
I'm sorry, i'm really beginner in the modding world and i don't want to put them in a bad place
Ok thanks ! 👍
thats what this channel is made for
If you have a gasket, is it still worth using the o-ring mod? My plan is the tofu redux with GMK keycaps, using a gasket, O-rings and painters tape mods whilst using the wooting supplied sound dampner.. does that sound like it would work altogether, never modded a keyboard before. (Don't want to risk lubing the switches)
risk what lubing the switches?
some one knows if you can use the normal tofu case for the module?
was only the usb slot that was a problem or not idk it anymore ask for a friend
If it's the original Tofu60, then yes, spec should mention tray mount with the USB port on the left side
hello guys. is it fine to ask modding tips on other keyboards?
technically but you might have issues with the USB slot
Ask away.
yeah, not here. ask away /s
You can't use gasket mounting with the Tofu redux
Trying to decide on if i want to stick with the lekkers or get the jades
I have a keyboard that i just got that came built with very well lubed switches and a silicone (pad foam ?) at the bottom of the case between the case and the pcb. I was wondering what easy mods i could try to do to change the sound profile to something i might enjoy more, just easy to try stuff that might improve my experience. Thank you!
Check https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399 as those mods can apply to all boards.
how abt wait for more releases and decide there
huh?

Ig i should just see how I feel about the lekkers once I get them with my module
Now and days, they're pretty ass (sorry woot, no hate) but would wait for more releases of like the KS-20U, etc.
Who knows, there could be better HE switches than Jades or whatever
god i love that emoji

cute

@fluid ravine are you using the stock stabs, if that is the case what mods did you do apart from lubing them?
No I am not using the stock stabs, i am currently using the TX AP Plate Mount stabilizers. The only mods i did to it is Krytox 2050g0 on stem and housing and no grease on the wires because im lazy and it already sounds really good without them for me. (The stem and housing thickness increased so it means it has tighter tolerance which makes it a lot easier to lube and grease without having rattle problems for holee mod and etc)
When I had the stock stabs, I lubed the stem and housing with krytox 205g0, Holee modded with fabric bandaid, and use dielectric grease on the wires. (Clipped them on accident, which you shouldnt)
Thanks, I will start doing the same but in the stock ones (krytox 205g0), in about one week or so I will receive my PC plate then I will disassemble the keeb and take the opportunity to improve the stabs
So lubing and then the switch tape mod for the lekkers ✍️?
For my build yes
For now I will continue lubing the l60s ( half way through so far)
If you're willing to take the time and save as much money as possible while making the lekkers sound better. Then yeah go ahead and follow my guide in the #🪛│modding_faq
its better to do this while lubing so you dont have to spare extra times of your life.
I will receive films, not sure if that will be an improvement, but I will give them a shot
But if you have money unlike me and pochizo (haha) should get new sets of HE switches like Jades, but I advise to wait for now as more releases are coming out
What brand films are you buying, I honestly would avoid using films as they are quite fiddly to install as they are a waste of time and a waste of money as they dont really improve anything on the lekkers. They would probably likely will make them sound worst fyi.
Someone commented here he was using TX, I purchased those 0.15mm and 0.125mm, not sure they will improve the l60s
Pochizo?
Sorry, do not remember
She is the only member i know that has TX films, they work better than other films from what i heard from them. (work better as in installing much easier)
Then she must be the one
But 3d printed are much better as you can print custom dimensions specifically for the lekker/KS-20 type switches
still a bit fiddly but better than something like from wuque studios
talking abt TX films
I am consolidating all things in a single shipment
i see
Going back to my question about stabs, there will be an improvement about using both dielectric grease and krytox 205g0 instead of only krytox?
Well you see, Krytox 205g0 is most known for lubing switches (linear switches especially) and lubing the stem and housing of a stabilizer. We/I don't recommend using krytox on the wire as it is too thin and it is a waste of money as krytox is expensive. Dielectric grease however is alot thicker than krytox because its a type of grease of course. It will reduce/remove rattle out of a stabilizer once you apply it and break it in.
There's other grease out there but dielectric grease is easy to buy and get im guessing and it serves us keyboard modders quite well
But if you notice there is still rattle in your stabilizers, you can go ahead and get some fabric bandaid and perform holee mod or get some plumbers tape to perform the plumber mod.
Perfect then, I will receive dielectric grease too, and I have very few Krytox left
If you live in the US you can find them in some auto stores like auto zone or where ever
I hope I can get the a similar degree of improvement of lubing the stabs compared with lubing the l60s, I am happy with the lubed ones now

Do not live in the US, but buy there, that is why I am consolidation a single shipment
Thanks for all help
I will post a short video when all is done, will not be ground breaking 🙂
But I sure I will be happy with the result
hi guys, i'm completely new to kb modding and was wondering if someone could go over the list of mods i want to do and see if its good o7, heres what im planning:
-tofu60 redux
-gateron jade switches
-wooting pc plate
-painters tape
-gummy o-ring mount
Hard to say if it's a good list since we don't know what problem you're trying to solve or things you want to change with the mods
ohh i see, i mainly just want it to sound better
that's pretty much it
Start with how it comes and go from there
anything wrong on the list or anything that is redundant?
in your opinion
imo the jades are somewhat overrated, the newest batches of lekkers really dont sound bad
i wouldnt say theyre worth the 50-80 unless you have a lot of spare cash
do you have a wooting already
people get jades and raptors because they don't wanna hear the chattery sound
and also lekkers are really loose
lekkers arent chattery in a tofu with a pc plate
seems fine
there's a huge difference
u can add them one by one and listen to the sound as u do it
between lekkers and jades & raptors
They are chattery
So much wiggle room you can switch tape mod them with multiple layers of tape
yoo what happens if i dont get the long pole tx ap stabs with jades
i ordered the regular ones
will it mess up
You’ll be fine
Great build, just to confirm though. When mentioning "wooting pc plate" do you mean the module?
Cause if it's the module, you're still missing key caps
I know a lot of us tend to have high end wooting builds but what typing speed does most of everyone here average?
Average typing speed is probably like 80
i want to get a new keycap set but i don’t want like
something basic like gmk samurais
i don’t know what to get
My score just now
this is my current build, my wooting module is expected by the end of this month
but i need a new keycap set
these aren’t bad just kinda basic
130 on 15s test is a bit above average
GMK vaporwave - https://novelkeys.com/products/cyl-vaporwave-w2
But I don’t see why it matters how fast people type. Honestly I like rt for typing
i saw these, they’re nice i just don’t think they go with my current case
Gotcha, I need to hit 160. Most i've gotten was like 136 WPM
im thinking on buying a diffident case and keycaps for my wooting build
tofu60 redux cases ship fairly fast
Gotcha makes sense
Fast for 15s would be like 160+ yea
Yeah I have some freinds that can hit 160+, mind blowing fast
Safe choice
Holy60 Keyboard kit Explore a new dimension in design and functionality with the keyboard case, we are excited to present the Holy60 case, featuring a lightweight design philosophy. The overall weight of the case is approximately 220g, crafted through CNC machining with each surface individually processed. This marks
do u think this would fit the wooting module.
because if so
I was thinking about potentially getting that case. It should fit
i MIGHT pre order
it’s beautiful i’m ngl
amazing case and it’s very unique
I'm holding off for reviews to get a better understanding of the sound and feel. Plus I already have a Alumaze60 on the way, but I may sell it down the line and pick up another case
i believe it would fit, because it fits the rakka60he pcb which is considered to be like the wooting pcb
no
that’s another thing tho. i tape mod my keyboards so unless i get like black masking tape
The wooting module discount is what sold me on the Alumaze60, took off like 30-40$ or something
i don’t know how that would look
i thought about the alumaze, but i went with the tofu solely because im more familiar with it
i need to order new stabs and some krytox for when i get my module
Honestly I think the Tofu is the better option if you don't mind it's steep typing angle. The module had a lower typing angle which I think I prefer so that also helped make my decision
i’m used to higher typing angles as most of my older builds have had a higher angle, i understand where ur coming from though
If you're in the US you can try Divinikey. Good site to order tofu, stabs and other keyboard things
Not going to be a reason to tape mod with a case like the Holy60. Sound isn't going to be why you buy it.
normally i buy from kbdfans i’ve used divinikey as well though
Yeah this is very true
very true, i just don’t see it being a case for sound connoisseurs
it’s a very nice case though
I'll prob pick up a tofu/holy60 from there when I order one (if I do 🙂 )
Eh, the wooting usually has a very meh sound regardless so I think the holy60 case would fit the wooting well
It won't be, so no reason to tape mod. Just enjoy it for the looks or avoid it. All speculation of course. Also it's going to be very light. You'll ever love that or hate that
ooo….
see now i don’t really know
i was hoping for a heavier case
i know a lot of weight is cut out but
still
this is one of my favorite wooting builds i’ve seen so far
this is the one bad seed tech built, very simple but i like the simplicity of it
It looks very clean
Badseedtech and optimum have top tier builds
i love this blank set
Same
This isn't a wooting but it works for the wooting. This would be my end game wooting
GMK striker?
Correct
this keycap set is also really nice
The white and blue looks very clean
Pretty sure I have a sealed set of striker stashed away somewhere
Oh yeah? R2?
Yeah r2
Nice! There's still 1 more site selling them to this day but they are charging about $140 which isn't too much higher than the original 120$ they had it selling for
Remind me tomorrow and I'll look. Headed to bed
I was considering to pick up that set as well but ehhhhhhhh striker is very dark blue, like navy. This picture I sent is very bright. It's darker in person
i’ve always loved the strikers ever since i first saw them
when taeha types did a build with them
If you're actually interested this site still sells the GMK striker for a reasonable price https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-striker-2
this price converts to $127 USD
It's also on some official verndor list i've reviewed in the past
Yeah it's a legendary build. It's what really hooked me into the hobby
Even after Tfue got the keyboard, he didn't really use it all that much
i know, it kinda upset me not gonna lie 😭
I used to watch his streams a lot but he didn't like how loud it was
hmmm, might make a childhood dream come true really quick lol
🤔
i’ve been wanting the strikers literally for 3 years now
still like
my top 3 favorite keycaps
if i do get them id buy another case, probably another redux
I think i'm in the same boat.
My favorites go in this order
- GMK Vaporwave
- GMK Retrocast
- GMK Striker
the dark blue would match perfectly
but the purple would give them contrast
if u get what i’m saying
Love this key cap set as well
Always in stock as well https://drop.com/buy/drop-mito-gmk-pulse-custom-keycap-set/talk?defaultSelectionIds=971590
top mount is good

You could get pretty good deals on the aftermarket as well
Sometimes striker goes for as low as $80-90 on mechmarket
i'm done with normie fonts
MTNU Rascal
no such thing, or is Google drunk?
all good, I'm not really looking for anything at the moment. Still slowly getting used to blanks
nice profile kaps, would def try someday
@stray tiger oh, misled a little then as this says it will work with the tofu although it does not specifically say redux https://www.mechmods.co.uk/products/tofu-60-gasket-mount-o-ring
yes, I've never done it and don't want to risk doing it wrong
Maybe this ? I don't remember if it was this video that I've seen clicky switchs @untold wigeon 😅
New to keyboards what the easiest mod?
Changing keycaps
turn it upside down
australia mod
case swap
foam or no foam
pc plate
re-lube switches and stabs
the locking clips look kinda odd and no 2 pins beneath
so no. it'll probabl burn your house down
Most definitely won't but thanks for the heads up
Well maybe not your house, but something
The day I hear about a switch causing a fire of some sort I'll stop buying custom keyboards 😭
lol I'm kidding
lmao
you think a switch could cause an electronic fire?
Do you have a bigger photo?
🕵️
removeable standoff at pcb tho
so many standoff point
but make sense
witout that you need steel plate
right hand side usb port, another tkl... pass
probably prototype
since they said it use duaghterboard
from picture it seem has hot swap 6.25u and 7u
but only f12
wkl is option
bro hasn't even finished his F2-60 keyboard, and now jumping the HE bandwagon
above Arrow key?
F2-60 prob won't happen
good notice
yea

is a unified DB
F2-84 was horrible
built in DB = solder?
no
form soundtest, plateless is fine for me
which was the worse option for the F1
you can use both the onboard USB port or break it off and use a daughterboard
that make sense because tiger lite has center usb c
tiger 80 has a different pcb
cause kbdfans is special

also the tiger 80 is a DB
not center USB
important difference
ye
well
not wrong
but there used to be boards with center USB on a tkl
with a fixed port
monstagear xo k80 for example
has the port fixed on the PCB at the middle

oh i already have the wooting, just getting the pc plate separately
Does anyone know of a good carrying case for tofu redux?
the wooting carrying case
That is compatible with it?
I've heard it is
there might be a small amount of empty space on the sides tho
but I've heard it should be fine
Hm alright, thanks! Ill keep that in consideration, ill see if anyone else has some ideas
I have some of these on the way to test. I think they will be here this week but don't plan to test until my stream

are the orange ks20 switches any good
they're pretty much just lekker switches with different springs and orange
so no
not worth it imo
oh ok
I can't seem to translate that fully. What's the summary?
Anything new in the modding world that I've missed out on in the last week?
Day#103 of wooting taking my money and holding onto my module
Lots of new stuff. Check the Friday video if you havent for more info on 80HE
Reading through the terrible translation, it’s in depth af
The translated text in the picture above is something I expected but didn’t know yet.
What is zFrontier even? I thought it was a store but it’s a forum as well?
What the heck? Why did you block me? 😂😂😂
I’m so confused. 🤨
its probably like when u block unknown callers
He DMed me not too long ago and seemed pretty chill. I don’t remember anything happening. 😂
No box stem. FML
Well at least they didn't add "tactile" HE switches like other manufacturers did
Which HE switch is tactile and is it compatible?
Tactile HE switches seems odd considering HE switches are ideally for gaming and tactile is not
Unknown if its compatible, havent tested yet. Plan to in the next few weeks
Many say that but I think it’s a non argument really because tactile switches are linear before and after the bump. You could use them normally as tactile switches and still benefit from Rapid Trigger or you could use them for DKS specific keys. I want them so bad as I believe they can be really useful.
Do you know their name/manufacturer?
Wasn't really an arguement, was just my thoughts on it lol
Yeah I know, I didn’t mean you specifically but many argued that when I said how useful they could be.
The assumed issue with the tactile bump is the lack of proper distance measurement while traversing the "bump" you can't really control the key press precision as well as I would think you would want to as a "pro gamer"
@stray tiger Do you think the hibi hero will be poppy like the June due to the silicone base? I am thinking about ordering one for my wooting
No idea honestly. The silicone and aluminum mix could change it drastically.
yeah its pretty hard to tell they have a couple sound tests but ofc thats with their plate and what not
home from school, hi guys! :D
School onm Sunday?
ye I was about to say the same
Asian struggles

I don't doubt it tbh, switches are really just personal preference, I could see finger fatigque in gaming with tactile switches tho after long hrs
there's my argument xD
I’d use it in combination with DKS to slow/give tactile feedback to more precisely time the 2nd input. Many would benefit from this as it’s pretty hard to not fully press a switch in intense moments.
I wouldn’t switch out all linears for tactiles obviously, only some. But I get your point.
are yall talking abt tactile in a HE switch?
Yeah I feel you
yessir
Do you know their name/manufacturer by any chance?
hmmm
I have mixed feelings about it lol
how suppose to manufacture that
Yes I do
at least for gaming
You mind giving me that information captain?
thatd be a interesting design in the HE market
Clicky HE switches when? 🤣
Not going to post it in here until I can verify compatibility. Already too many people quoting rumor as fact in this channel.
someone made a DIY HE lekker switch
idk who but i saw it
In my DMs then? I’d want to try them regardless if they’re compatible or not.
it was sick
Like with the Long Pole stabs and Jades
Interesting.
Everyone thinks that rumor is fact
yeah i got questions abt them in my dms and everythin
idk how to answer
;-;
Yeah same
Oh god the long pole and jades..
damn wth
Ive already lost count of how many people have asked me questions about certain switches and compatibility, don't want to add another to the list lol. Once I confirm if they work or don't I'll let you guys know.
normal school 8 hrs
sat school 4 hrs
sun school 2 hrs
that sucks
You don’t need long poles with jades. Normal stems are fine you just need to make sure they’re up in the keycap all the way.
What about church school on Sundays? I've seen your Jesus pictures in the house
thanks
I got a 4 day weekend because of faculty meeting and martin luther king day 😂
what abt em?
Was asking if you have church school as well on Sundays or just normal school
just learn some stuff abt being catholic and all that
Stab travel distance = +/- 4mm
Jade switch travel distance = +/- 3.5mm
.5mm 😬😬😬😬😬
church school on weekends
Ahh ok now that makes sense
man I couldn't do church school while im already attending a catholic school ;-;
i dont really pay attention cus i just wanna go home :(
Not optional for altar boys
Lol thank you Tirade, you are appreciated
I’m ready for my module
It says like feb 4th 🥲
Oh Wooting is awesome and added the black pc plate to my order btw
Had to pay ofc but got the module and black PC plate on one order now which is good
NA module creeping along
been slowly creeping
RIP
gotta put some super sonic jett engines on the back of that boat 😭
w
WOOT WOOT!
FR
LMAO
lmao, bros taking his sweet time piloting that boat
anyone know some good pre lubed or pre hand lubed switches for the wooting 60he?
Gateron Jades
As of right now
if it didn’t get delayed would have been getting shipped out in 2 days, actually unfortunate not their fault. Im excited for videos to come out on the module though and see what type of cases people put it in
KS-20U late Jan/early Feb on ali btw
thanks
ima wait for reviews
b4 the day comes
I thought about ordering them from tao but that’d be €64 not including shipping lmao
YeH I’m not fucking with taobao
I don’t like app only interface
And I only speak English cuz I’m a dumb American
tao is just like amazon but chinese I think
Ali express is solid but I don’t mess with taobao yet lol
Yeah I don’t have anything against it. But any time I click link I can’t see it unless I download app
It’s hard to order from there, can’t do it without something like parcelup
true
So I boycott it lol
I’m liking my frankenlekkers more now tho
I was typing last night thinking how they’ve settled in nicely since initial install
Less friction
Smoother,easier
No rush for next switch upgrade
How long ago did you install them?
are gateron jades switches better then the raptor he? im new to modding a keyboard so im just wondering
Month or so I think
Better is subjective
what do mean by that?
But jades seem to be the preferred HE switch at the moment
hmm ok ok
Like it’s not a performance thing. It’s a feel/sound thing
is it worth it to wait for the KS-20Us instead buying Jades
i mean you should
wait for reviews and all that
im pretty sure @harsh dove is gonna try them out
we can wait for his review or some others and decide from there
thats what im doing
Decent break in period.
My atk should arrive tomorrow if it’s not delayed again and module should arrive soon too. Gonna do a sound test with ks-37Bs which should sound similar to the ks-20Us
also ordering the ks-20Us the moment they’re on ali
👍
Yeah I’m chilling and will probably wait 6 months to hear how they all unfold then buy another set
getting used to the jades' shorter travel distance takes some time but they're good
they're awful for osu though imo
they're the best HE switches I've tried so far, they sound the best and feel the best in general
how much they cost
$50 for 70 iirc
too much
seems like a good idea thanks
Happen to know the travel distance on them?
3.5
Awesome. Appreciate the screenshot with the added details as well
I like the reduced travel distance, wish the regular lekkars were like that or had that option to choose from
I've seen a sort of blase, tepid feeling toward the lekkers.... can I get a "layman's" breakdown of why?
ELI5
They perform great. Any gripes are with their feel/sound
With that being said, many people do not have any issue with them
Tolerances and sound.
and the fact that Gateron made them. It’s not up to par with Gateron’s (recent) standerd at all, not even close.
Gateron makes Lekker?
And lekkers are sub par, in comparison.
Is that the kind of thing that that switch films would help with?
I'd heard that the Lekkers didn't need that due to relatively Improved tolerances, compared to other mechanicals out there.
Switch films would tighten the housing tolerances, yes. But what’s arguably more important is stem wobble which is also sub par with Gateron’s better non HE switches.
Lekkers are made by Gateron yes. The Lekker switch is an altered version of Steelseries’ preexisting Omni-Point Switch/KS-20 which was equally sub par.
Who ever said Lekkers had improved tolerances compared to other mechanical switches lied to you.
Anytime!
One of the reasons some are waiting for the KS-20u switch
Yes. The Jade switches have a tighter bottom housing as well which gives them less stem wobble but the KS-20U’s dual rail design is supposed to combat stem wobble more.
and give a smoother overall feel.
Do you know when they come out?
They’re already available on Taobao and will be on AliExpress late January/early February.
I’ll be buying them the moment they’re on Ali.
I'll be awaiting your review!
I do not have enough experience with this to justify that purchase yet.... But I'm open to going insane on the topic.
It is preference. There’s no switch more functional than another although Jades are arguably worse considering the shorter travel distance. I’ll be posting a sound test here when I get them.
I’ll have a sound test of the KS-37B switches before that.
KS-37Bs are not compatible with Wooting FYI but they’re also made by Gateron and also have the dual rail design. So they’re very similar to the KS-20Us and I presume have a similar sound and feel as well.
YEa... I'll be consulting with you when the time comes to .......SWITCH it up.... 😄
Jades are popular rn because they are good soundwise
Jades are popular because they’re the best we have.
the keyboard automatically calibrates every time its plugged it but only accounts for lekkers
Simon said to just take the 0.1mm - 4.0mm slider as 0.1mm - 3.5mm (even if software says 4.0mm iirc)
There’s no difference in calibration for the Jades or Lekkers. The total travel distance is shorter, nothing else.
Jades are support in the Wootility beta for now. The lowest actuation point you can set with the Jades is 3.5mm, lower than that and the Jades can’t reach it resulting in no input when pressing that switch.
highest actuation*
is there a spreadsheet of compatible switches with the 60HE
I dont think so
Lowest.
Omni-Point/Lekker/KS-20 (Single Rail V1)
KS-20U (Dual Rail V2)
KS-20T (Closed Bottom Single Rail (Jade Switch))
Not compatible:
KS-37 (Single Rail V1)
KS-37B (Dual Rail V2)
but off the top of my head:
L60s and L45s
Geonworks Raptor HE
Gateron KS-20
Gateron KS-20u
Gateron Magnetic Jade Switch
the lower the actuation the easier it is the press
Geon’s Raptor HE switches too yeah.
damn not a-lot then, is it possible to frank these switches with normal switches like black inks etc. id assume not but I dont have the slightest clue what they look like taken apart so figured id ask
no
thought so
How does it say it in Wootility? 4mm is the highest or lowest setting?
I don’t remember.
pretty sure 4mm is the highest
Then you’re right.
It is kind of weird to measure from the bottom though, as you press the switch down not up. 😂
will jades come to the wooting store?
I presume when they’re fully supported, yes.
It’s good business to sell all switches compatible with Wooting.
well tbf, gateron kinda screwed them over with not telling them about the jades and then asking for them to use them in their keyboard when it was too late
It was scummy to do sure but I kind of understand where Gateron comes from as well. They’re in a more competitive business than Wooting and if they don’t have the “only” or the “best” they lose a lot.
wooting must support jades otherwise people will just buy other keyboards...
like ... kbdfans takka60
You can use Jades, don’t get me wrong but DKS doesn’t work outside of Wootility Beta with Jades.
They’d want that fixed first then sell them on their store so they don’t deal with complaints I presume.
😉
if you try the RAKKA 60 HE keyboard configurator (a Wootility copy), you can pick the kind of switch the keyboard is using
I hope Wooting does that as well and will support switches like the KS-37Bs and others. I’s like a bigger variety of switches.
Yeah I saw
You need to stop passing off opinion as fact. You have no frame of reference for this comment and therefore could not possibly have made it using factual information
What was not a fact?
Or what was an opinion rather?
I’m confused.
" It’s not up to par with Gateron’s (recent) standerd at all, not even close."
It is not.
I’m talking about tolerances, not about sound or feel or whatever.
Not opinionated.
Housing tightness, stem wobble.
Look I'm not going to argue this with you, instead I'm going to go to bed
First bro posts 80+ pics of 80he then says opinion is fax
Well, it is fact. It’s not my opinion. Gateron’s (recent) mechanical switches have far better tolerances than the KS-20s/Lekkers.
It is not opinion.
It kinda is
Housing tightness and stem wobble is not opinion
If you believe that it is that’s fine.
I don’t know what that even means
Well that is the argument here.
This is quite literally patently false. The switches are made by Gateron and follow Gateron's specifications. If they do not meet Gateron's same standards, they do not get shipped. More over, on top of Gateron's internal quality control, Wooting pays for additional third party quality control.
Quality is defined as the adhernce to specification. I have the specs for these products, and I have the data from actual quality control testing to back up my statements. You do not.
It's not a fact. Gateron doesn't have a HE standard to be up to par against. It's a relatively new switch design and they are just now moving into the 3rd and 4th revision. You can't compare a new switch to something that has had decades to be improved on.
Okay, now I've had my last word and am going to bed
Night man

Good night.
The Bible of responses
Rest well!
If you say that Gateron's HE switches don't sound as good as their time-tested standard switches, we can agree on that. But there isn't/wasn't a better HE switch until the last 6 months. That isn't due to shit standard/quality, it's due to a lack of knowledge and experience in a HE switch.
Are you guys seriously arguing about the sound
As I said in my message you replied to; they were sub par compared to Gateron’s (recent) mechanical switches. Never did I say Lekkers were out of spec. If you read it like that you misunderstood my point. What I said was in fact fact.
That is what I did, that’s the comparison I made.
This meme sums up ur argument against mark
Heres a fact.
None of us know what the tolerances are, without the actual manufacturing drawings
I wouldn’t call myself a chad but if you say so. 😏
I’m joking.
Unless one of you is a secret shill for Gateron and can release the documents? 👀
SHILL!!!!!!
It’s not the comparison I made either way.
Well of course the original design isn't as good as an improved design that took 2yrs to develop. If it wasn't, it would be bad business.
what is the KS-20U dual rail? I can't find it listed anywhere
It's basically twice as good
so yea...
dual...
check me out I know stuff
stem wobble wise? not sound wise
That was the comparison I made. The KS-20s came out 2019 IIRC and were probably designed a bit before that. Gateron has had more than enough time to make improvements to their HE line as they did with their mechanical line in a similar timeframe if that’s what you’re disagreeing with.
I'm being completely sarcastic.
I'm no tthat guy
But the statement mark replied to wasn’t opinionated at all.
is it open bottom? or closed like jades?
Open.
There are too little tests done to say for certain as not many have gotten their hands on them.
I have actual measurment tools, If anyone wants to send me some to test.
do you have a sound test?
Facts will follow
The KS-20Us should be available on AliExpress late January/early February. You can wait till then if you wish. But the Jades are a good sounding switch regardless.
There’s a sound test on KBDFans’ Takka60 page.
oh, I didn't know that was KS-20U , they call it Gateron Magnetic 2.0 Orange
it sound worse than jade
You mean like mitutoyo calipers or sound wise?
Yes.
😂 As I said, we only have that and one other video to go off of.
so it's supposed to only improve wobble, not sound?
Not sound wise.
Physical dimensions.
Calipers, Micrometers, test indicators
Sound is not really something you can improve, it’s more of a result of the switch/switch’s materials and structure. KS-20Us aim to reduce stem wobble.
stop trolling... anyone can buy a caliper
Good calipers set you back an arm and a leg.
Who's trolling?
Go buy one then.
I'm just offering an idea.
Don’t underestimate the art of measuring.
😉
yes, they made the jades to improve sound so it is definitely something they can improve
like, a dual rail jade would be the perfect switch
Not improve, give a different sound signature. Jades are better because compared to the Lekkers/KS-20s they have a tighter bottom housing resulting in less stem wobble.
better is subjective and this topic has been exhausting.
It sounds better to me so it must be better I swear!
the majority agrees jades sound better
dude mark told you to pipe down so please do
This is a joke.
not funny
That is subjective too. 😂
Sure it is. Humor is subjective too
would i be able to use a coiled cable with tachyon mode as long as i have the rgb low/off?
In most cases yes (assuming a good quality made cable that doesnt exceed specs)
do u have any budget reccs? don't really wanna spend over $30
I dont know of any in that price range that I can vouch for personally unfortunately
ah ok, thanks anyways
Straight cables are the new hotness though
yeah, i just want a cleaner look, i don't have a monitor stand so straight cables very awkwardly go over it
Show me a pic
travelling rn so can't get a pic haha
No worries was going to give you some options
UGREEN worked great for me, below $25 I believe as well. Edit: Below $15 even! 🤣
Oh man I snagged a great deal off Ebay for the final camera for the streaming setup.
While I'm off topic, AI generated art has been a pain in the ass when it comes to text. I've been trying to generate stream transition/holding screens for a week now and have maybe 4-6 that turned out right.
Nice man!
You would think "The Thockfather" wouldnt be that hard but AI sturggles
I never tried much with AI honestly, don’t know much about it.
Ive generated over 300 images and most end up like this
You see what I mean though
Sometimes the text is fine but you end up with 6 fingers on a hand or a keyboard with 200 keys
I’d think writing would be the easiest LOL
Yeah.
And the AI thinks its actually spelled it correctly
The reflection in the glasses, although in only one of the two, it’s still an incredibly detail.
In this case it left of The completely but says its there
😂😂😂
Did you say to put the godfather in there?
Or did the AI just connect Thockfather wirh Godfather?
and the mouse is backwards
Exactly
Yes I wanted it in the style of the godfather, but due to copyright it cant give it exactly
tbh it would probably be better to get it to a point where you can edit in a real keyboard and some other important things that the AI cant get right
They will just be for transition/holding slides that rotate through so it doesnt have to be exact
But we started here initially so you can see how far we have come
Oh I see.
Why don’t you make a real picture or one drawn by an artist/logo designer maybe?
Like I said, it's just for transition slides. Don't need to spend money on it. I've spent enough on the hardware already. 3 mics and 3 cameras just say I can build/review/measure keyboards...
Could have bought another 6 boards for less money haha
commissions are pricey
plus he could always commission something down the line
Oh I see.
AI is a bit price too right? Or is it cheaper now because the hype has dropped? 😂
not really
My company pays for the subscription so it costs me nothing
fair
to add on to this, you usually get a few free "credits" every month or so on most of the larger ones
Yeah but Im generating so many images that I hit the hourly cap and have to wait haha
I could imagine
ai iterations take a while
I wanted to try it but I had to pay €10 for a few pictures without knowing if they were good or not. 🥴
personally I like super simplistic icons and logos
not like, over simplified
but something that has pretty solid colors and such
For logos and icons those are good because they’re very easy to remember.
yep
and also very easy to create lmao
however if you're hiring a designer its still going to be insane compared to the end result
im sure google has spent thousands or more on their new icons
and its just a few colors and intersecting lines
Nike: 🗿
This isnt a business for me though, just a hobby so no need for a logo or anything like that but thats an interesting idea. I might give it a shot and see how it goes.
Never say never, it could be a business too!
lmao
"AI is coming for our jobs"
AI:
it looks tiny
