considering the alumaze delay
it will get delayed even more than this
thats my bet
how much we betting?
Oh, there's an Alumaze delay? Does no one have their Alumaze yet?
i already have the OG 60 HE in a tofu
they do
but it was delayed
I see
i was supposed to receive mine end of october but received it 1 week before end of november
You have two 60HEs??
used it for 3 weeks then ordered the tofu
yah
Or getting two?
yes
$$$
at least it is first world country
$$$
here if you order keyboard + with deskmat
i'll sell one then buy 1 or 2 gmk sets
wheres the gummy o ring tutorial u promised
wtf
fake
suck me
old ass phone too
really?
is it an iPhone X?
fr
touch id > any
they fixed it with the iPhone XS
it does if u lookibg at the screen
????
I have it
what the fuck
when unlockiny
why
this guy actually needs to be studied
I want touch id back so bad
also why are you not sleeping
who tf needs sleep?
well i did stay up for 36 hours yesterday so i guess you are kinda right
does ur ship with this too?
and u ignore it
that is not even a real shipping service bro
you’ll prob just receive a rock in a box instead of ur switches
Jack Ma is a legend
jack ma balls
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😏
what u mean by that? 🤨
fuck around n find out
Oh hm, not sure, they didn't specify which vendor they are using
welp gg then
50g of polyfill would be more than enough for the keyboard, right? They sold packages of 1kg and even more
did neo say when their switch is coming out @pale aspen
nothing
i assume they probably has C&D letter from Gateron
gateron reigister Patent "close the bottom" on Jade
Neo switch seem to use this method too
but thier HE PCB will come out later
too bad, their switch was actually the most unique sounding he so far
Are there sound test for these: Gateron KS-20, Gateron Magnetic Orange, Gateron magnetic jade, Wooting L45, Raptor HE
I’m extremely confused rn. Watched a modding video for the 60HE and dude swapped the switches for gateron orange. Is this a thing? Does the rapid trigger still work that way?

So all magnetic switches have rapit trigger and 0.1mm actuation?
Not all
Depends on how they're made and their travel time et cetera.
The specs of the magnet and such need to be similar enough to our Lekker, for the sensors to still work optimally.
Interesting
Im trying to well mod my wooting to endgame what do you guys think off these optimizations i am planing to do (didnt decide on the switch yet): Wooting 60HE mods
Keycaps: https://drop.com/buy/drop-matt3o-mt3-dev-tty-keycap-set?defaultSelectionIds=962043

Switches: Gateron KS-20, Gateron Magnetic Orange, Gateron magnetic jade, Wooting L45, Raptor HE, housing lubed, spring lubed (both lubed with: TriboSys 3204)
Pcb: pom plate from: https://smkeyboards.com/products/wooting-60he-plate?variant=43923321553143, tape mod 2x: painters tape, burger mount: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B08H4DTSFM

DUROCK Plate Mount Stabilizer Please make sure that your build supports Plate Mount Stabilizers! Color: Black, White, Smokey or Clear Wire Black or White: Stainless Steel Wire Smokey or Clear: Gold Plated Wire You can choose between: 2U: 1 x 2U
Our custom plates for the Wooting 60HE is perfect to improve the sound of the original keyboard. Easily switch out the plate to improve typing experience and sound of your Wooting 60HE. Metal plates will be 1.5mm thick (the same as the original plate) Plastic plates such as POM, PETG and Impact Modified Acrylic are 1.5
Specs Case: Anodized Aluminum, E-coating Aluminum or Acrylic Weight bar: Brass, surface sandblasted process Structure: Tray-mount Compatible with most 60% PCB, including DZ60 rev3.0/DZ60 RGB-ANSI/DZ60RGB V2/GH60/Wooting 60HE PCB, etc. As seen in our video in the photo gallery! Weight: Aluminum case approximately 0.8 kg
I would recommend just starting with case and plate. Then move from there based on what you want to do. Stock stabs are prety good, I just relubed them. I picked up the tofu60 redux case and wooting pc plate. Thinking of getting gateron jade switches hoping for tighter tolerences.
I also did buy orings but didn't try them yet
Gateron MagneticJade, if you are gonna buy an aftermarket plate(do FR4 for Raptor HE, Carbon Fiber for Jades) otherwise get the PC plate, tofu redux with brass weight and those MT3 keycaps are quite tall and not optimal for gaming imo@livid gull
Oh alr
the switch will make the biggest difference in sound
Alr i think a pom plate is the best for the lekker l60 but if you think that carbon fiber is optimal for the jade’s i trust🙏
the lekkers sound so shit the plate barely makes a difference
and there is no point buying seperate plate and pay shipping
get Carbon Fiber with Jades or FR4 with Raptor HE switches from kbdfans
with your tofu
as for the stabs if the stock wooting ones do not rattle do not change them
you might create more problems than you fix
those MT3 keycaps are great for typing but for gaming they are not as good, I'd recommend you try Drop DCX/GMK/pbtfans(from kbdfans)
Yk these 2 plates are not the only 2 options just bc they are stated at the rudux case take a look at this website instead: https://smkeyboards.com/products/wooting-60he-plate?variant=43923321553143
Our custom plates for the Wooting 60HE is perfect to improve the sound of the original keyboard. Easily switch out the plate to improve typing experience and sound of your Wooting 60HE. Metal plates will be 1.5mm thick (the same as the original plate) Plastic plates such as POM, PETG and Impact Modified Acrylic are 1.5
i know
but there is no point paying shipping from another store
for such a small difference
either get the kbdfans plates or the official wooting pc plate
My goal isnt to create the cheapest wooting mod but the best
I know
the best thing for sound you can do to this is like this:
But i am ready to pay the shiping for a sound making difference “better” plate
Tofu60 Redux/Salvation
for tofu gummy o ring mount
PC Plate/FR4/Carbon Fiber
Magnetic Jade/Raptor HE switches
the lekker switches sound like trash even lubed
To decide between these two switches does anybody know which has lower g’s on the spring?
i think the Jade
😂
i'd say it's a bit too light
Why’d you think that?
i dont know maybe because their site says 30 +/- 7g for operation force
this is the raptors
A little self research isn't forbidden. They all have charts and specs you can easily compare against each other 😛
that too
Did you ask anyone who has them?
did you?
Did I orderthem?
no
Exactly, did you ask?
you chose to order a full keyboard to pull switches from it, then find out that they dont work on this
💀
This was unnecessary.
I am afraid i cant find out the grams on the gateron magnetic jade since i live in eu and cant reach theire website
i live in the eu too
You gotta type it
It just took long
they only list this which is weird
It doesn’t show on google
i dont understand why they say + and - 7
Why is anom so against the jades lol
23-37 🤣
I’m not at all
You have the jades?
i think they most likely are
Nah I’m on raptors so no need yet until 80he
@livid gull also what sound are you looking for?
you know the force required?
Wait i have a issue with these they have 0.2 mm actuation instead of 0.1
Aren’t they lighter similar to raptors and ks20?
It says 23-37g on gateron’s site which is insanity, obviously
i don't think that is a realistic difference
More like a deeper sound not clicky or high pitched something like: https://youtu.be/sVInBOLSqoM?si=E_bs2-aLnwAYmIEZ
men, i've found my endgame.
I've searched far and wide, sailed the seven seas and climbed the tallest mountains. I've traveled to the edges of the world, and tried everything from Cherry Reds to Holy Bobas. All in a vain pursuit of this beauty. No matter what I did, no matter what I tried, I never felt satisfied. I thought I would never find my ...
Starting force is very different from bottom out
Jade’s have a travel distance of 3.5mm instead of the full 4mm. But .1 still works fine afaik.
then definitely pc plate(wooting)/carbon fiber(kbdfans) and jades
It’s 30g +/-7g that’s the thing. Not about the bottom out force
if the starting force is 23 grams that will be a massive issue for me
So they do support 0.1 mm actuation why do they state 0.2 on the website wierd.
i mean can u tell .1mms?
Afaik they do, no one here complained about it so idk
yes
right
one will activate if you wiggle the switch and the other will not
It is, nobody actually uses it I think
I probably couldn’t while gaming but it would make a difference and could lead to a compatitive slight disadvantage against the 0.1mm actuation
i dont think .1mms will be what wins you a match
you doubting him?
I find 0.1 especially important on the wdas keys
well i mean it on those ye
The ks20u list the same starting force
0.1 is very unreasonable
Not winning maybe but difference making even if slight
well lets put it like this
ks-20Us are back on Gateron’s site again?!
Nah I’m on taobao
I'd rather the .1mm loss but gain a massive sound boost for the switch
the lekker even lubed sounds like shit
Well while gaming a „sound boost“ wont give you a adventage it will just well.. make it sound better
well its you that said you want to make the best wooting 60 he
and want a deeper sound
the lekker is very clacky
Could you ss the ks-20u specifications? I can’t enter taobao
If you like a keyboard that „sounds good“ I wouldn’t go for the wooting in the first place most people just buy it because off their impressive technology that gives you this advantage in the first place
well now you can have both
Well i am convinced the wooting wont ever be able to sound as good as a well made custom keyboard
it can get extremely close
True. Different focuses at the end of the day.
Why don’t you buy the module, get the keycaps you like, get the raptors, get the redux and be done with it?
We make keyboards for the masses, not the few. And we will never match a custom keyboard that costs twice as much with mods and lots of time spent tweaking things.
But we can get pretty close at this point.
Yeah and the module definitely helps as well.
Thats true but the main buying point are the performance on the keyboard tho i also dont find the sound as bad
Stock, no. With customization I think HE can get to the level of the best of the best but switches are still the problem.
we do have 2 very good switches now
I pinged stafff fuck 😬😬😬😬😬
why u always hatin on them lmao
that duck better deliver my keyboard
just because we come from bad switches that doesn’t make the next best thing good
?
lekkers
i think you need to sleep
you more
im the grindfather tho
@tawdry tree
good
oh thanks, I used vpn to get on it lmao
that site is nearly unusable
I bought things from taobao in the past, using agents that that communicate in english
yea but browsing on something like superbuy is basically impossible
The whole taobao process is fun because you’re guessing if you did it right the entire time
I don’t understand why KS-20Us are on it but not KS-37Bs which were released earlier.
I still have no idea if my address is entered the way they want
I hope it is though
wdym
You ordered the KS-20Us?
did you buy directly from taobao
Yeah they sell directly to kr
KS-37B magnetic switch.
ah
now picture that the jade is also called KS-20 too
these names are so impressive
yeah ik im just saying
but not ks-37b
why
those names are better than most keyboard switch names
then removed them
because they have KS-20 for like 4 switches that are very different
no
xD?
most variations aren't just a ks-20
Why? 💀
there is logic behind the chaos
dual rail is ks-20u, closed bottoms are ks-20t
nobody knows, even gateron doesn’t know
Could you order from taobao if you’re from europe?
with an agent
Is that hard?
you just pulled a great fucking guide out of your pocket
legend
thanks!
also a (somewhat outdated) list with links and helpful terms https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vdx2WvSf5poYP8fOtNXgpjRVuh77yGvZk7RKhsj3p7E/edit#gid=335037316
do i need normal or long pole tx ap stabs if i use raptor he switches
normal
ty
for the regular 60he you will need tx plate mounts
long pole version is only compatible with the 60he+ to begin with
its the he+ im grabbing
you don’t need longpole stabs with raptor or ks-20/lekkers
funnily enough i did see a guy on reddit complain about stabs not working with the Jades so you might need them there
he also said this, which is weird
common problem with long pole switches which share same travel
yeah i saw
most people don't notice it though because they might not push down hard enough on one side
but interesting that it only happens with 1 keycap on his side
I will most likely order TX long pole stabs
just to be safe
it's cause space bar is so long it's easiest one to dislodge by pushing on one side
i can confirm tx ap long pole works great with 3.5mm travel though
wuque morandi is exactly the same travel and I use them with tx ap long poles
well i guess another piece to the puzzle
if i change the switches will i still have all the features from the wooting software? i’m very new to modding sorry
okay ty
@glacial wind for TX AP's it's recommended to go lighter on the lube right
or was that another stab
yeah go much lighter on lube. Some people even just use 205g0 instead of normal thicker stab lube
tx ap long pole available in plate mount?
no but they are available in snap ins
yeah i'm fairly sure it's only the clip ins
let me check taobao
playe mount no
yeah i'd rather not get assfucked by insane shipping costs for $20 stabs
i was curious before because module didnt release yet
how would people find long pole for plate mount
because TX just update plate mount with new version recently
TX AP Plate Mount Stabilisers are kin25's adaptation of the clip-in stabilizers to a plate mount form. Following the "AP" or "Almost Perfect" feature list of a doubleshot stem to improve the fitment of the wire, reduce unwanted noise, and reduce wobble. TKL Kit Includes: 10 x Housings 10 x Stems 4 x 2u Wires 1 x 6.25u
is it EU?
ye
back like 6 months ago, i remember there was no long pole plate mount
only normal platemount
didnt even see
UK but ships to EU
it says long pole
so idc
@glacial wind what do you think of using Krytox 205 in the 60HE stock stabs? I do not have any other lube atm. I used it in the GMMK Pro stabs a while ago, it went good
ah nice
well better than nothing but you'd want thicker lube if you have it normally
the only reason people do 205g0 on the tx ap is because the wires are so tight that it's insanely easy to overlube them
since tbh, i rare see people use plate mount in normal mech
let alone long pole plate mount
im guessing a light coat of 205 not heavy
yeah. Although I know some people that still use xht bdz on it, but they're super careful to be light
i never had any ticking just using 205g0 though, people like tx ap because they're so good out of the box normally
the thing i like abt cherry screw ins is you can dip the entire wire in grease and you are done
thats good
Cherry clip in + c3 wires too good
i want a custom case so if i get the 60he module, switches and keycaps from wooting, is it just a case i would need to make a functioning keyboard?
yes
thanks
but at that point just get the alumaze
Depending on the case, yes
as the discounts will stack
i like the tofu redux style
Thanks, I will give it a try, I was thinking also in getting the dielectric grease Taeha recommended in an old video, but Krytox 205 will be it for now
yo I saw people saying cotton balls do the same thing as the polyfill was wondering if anyone in here has tried it
Cotton is typically not considered a non-flammable material. Id avoid personally.
Polyfill is like $5 for enough to 1000 keyboards
At least not unless coated in something fire retardant, which is probably not good for the environment or you 😄
thats what i thought, saw some videos people using cotton and was like ehhh
hey, are dye sub keycaps more durable than double shot?
I second polyfill or something similar. I bought a cheap pillow from a hobby store which was filled with it.
I think technically the reverse is true?
Dyesub is colour soaked into the plastic. Doubleshot is where you leave a gap in the first mold (the main keycap) for a second fill of something different, typically black in white keycaps or transparent POM for RGB keycaps.
oh.
i mean
for shine
which will not shine for longer?
I heard dye sub requires more PBT content
both will out last you
I'd say it's the same. For that aspect it mostly depends on whether you used ABS or PBT as the main keycap material.
but doubleshot pbt is usually a mix of pbt and abs no?
hmm alright
i see
but for dyesub. you cant have lighter legend than keycap itself
that is why now rarely see black keycap dyesub
aren’t the wooting dye sub caps more expensive than the ‘normal’ PBT set btw
oh
Yes. But that's because it's a five sided dyesub.
The patterns require it to be soaked on all sides, which is a much more complex process to get accurate.
- choose color way you want
- choose sound
- enjoy
i was thinking of NicePBT Shinbun, idk if its a good choice but it looks p good
ahh i see
the pbt keycaps on my stock gaming keyboard shine a LOT now
its almost oily looking
so thats why i’m looking for keycaps with high pbt content
razer keyboard, and keycaps were nicely textured and advertised as doubleshot pbt
idk if its real but
probably
you think it’s good?
yeah, i tried hard to look for red keycaps that would look nice
GMK jamon would be nice but thats ABS and i’m not willing to pay that much money for keycaps that will shine
if i were you i would choose this way
pick keycap from Novelekys
two set for free shipping
and try
dyesub isn't that bad really, long as it's done well
I care way more about whether the printing and legends are done well than whether it's dyesub or doubleshot these days
blurriest dyesub ive used is OTC modo light lol
but i like it color so much than GMK modo light
that prevent it from being sold
just went through all the sets and none that i think i would like
i’m going for a klippe t red btw
I love when they shine. feels so good
makes me play worse actually
oh well, everyone is different lol
You live in a humid area or get sweaty hands?
i care about it not shining
i actually don’t sweat at all from my hands but i do live in a more humid area yes
then you have to buy good pbt keycaps
yeah
Wuque WS Basic Red Keycaps are red keycaps with white accents for a set that has a wide range of layout compatibility with its varying modifiers sizing. Wuque WS Basic Red Keycaps Feature: Cherry Profile Manufacturer WS PBT PBT Material Doubleshot MX Compatible 227 Keys Includes: 1 Wuque WS Basic Red Keycap Set
I missed the earlier msgs, you looking for something to go with a red case?
if you really like red, you have to compramise
yup
Ohh he wants red keycaps not something to match a red case
oh i do want somethjng to match to my red case
how about white keycap red legend
does that loook great for you?
i’m pretty sure it will show signs of wear in a year minimum
that would work yeah
and will not shine
look great
that looks pretty good, are the keycaps well textured though? i like them to have a slightly rough feel
Yeah they are. I think I still have that set, if you want to see better pictures lmk and Ill dig it out
only three pbt ive use has smooth surface
epbt crp and mtnu
i assume other would have texture
if you don’t mind i’d like to see some pictures
yeah i’d hope
for 21kb, i would pick red english legend/ burgandy japanese legend or vice versa
what do i choose for ‘designs’?
Ill dig em out in a bit for you. Until then you can check em out here too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glws7tV3hYs
I was asked to take a look at the Kanketsu keycaps by Studio BLB and we put them on a Thermal Rev2!
The caps were dope and I love the overall theme of them and you can really tell how much love and attention went into this whole set / collection.
✅ BUILD SPECS:
Keyboard: Thermal Rev 2
Plate Material: Aluminum
Keycaps: kanketsu by Studio BLB ...
alrighty. thanks
just pick classic
oh the irony
@crimson sky Hah, these are amazing, thank you for the advice! It was only a bit of pain to close the switch because clicky bit was sticking to magnet in stem, but final result is amazing
One for left hand, one for right one
whya is R4 row?
I have 2 of these and have yet to unbox either of them. I need more free time to get shit done!
Speaking of free time, when my new stream does go live, I just picked up a new mic specifically for switch/keyboard sound testing so that you guys can actually hear the real sound.
Muse Dash gaming
Now, I only have to get my hands on more KS-22s, because Blues are sold out in PL afaik, and I have to figure out better way to open switches - tools are coming in February, and my opener made out of tic tac box gave up after 2 switches
Expensive
oh that's a nice shotgun mic
thank you
don’t shotgun mics pick up sounds from pretty far that are still infront of it
i wish i got one lol
where do u stream at
They can, but indoor very directional sound capture, they are the 2nd best choice. The first choice being supercardiod pencil condenser microphones that start at around $1000.
For aiming it straight down towards a keyboard with a pad under it, there should be very little reverb.
wtf. i was into microphones and stuff two years ago but i never heard of a supercardioid pencil microphone
Streams will start once I get my replacement audio interface in and setup. It's not officially announced yet but you can check any of the socials on www.thethockfather.com (or just search your platform of choice for thethockfather)
Can you use a shotgun microphone indoors?
In this episode, we critically listen to a variety of boom microphones in a reverberant, echo-y indoor space. We record with a variety of shotgun microphones versus non-shotgun (pencil condenser) boom microphones and answer the question: Can you use a shotgun microphone indoors?
If you’d like to learn...
Ive got a Rode NTG mounted to my main camera pointed at me for overall sound and a Rode PodMic mounted on an arm for when I want to talk without outside sound being an issue and then the Sennheiser MKE 600 for keyboard and directional sound.
im thinking of one for wfh lol getting tired of my webcam mic and hated using a mic right in front of my face
I’d recommend the deity vo-7u.. every time I join a call I get compliments on my audio quality
I use the low profile boom arm from elgato.. it stays under my fov and I don’t notice if at all
Had anyone tried Cerakeys with their wooting ?
quite a few
I’ve been trying to find a audio test with them.. I’m curious how they would sound with jade switches
I’ve heard it works fine with L60s but on L45s the spacebar is too heavy. If you think the weight will be a problem even on the L60s then you could wait for the heavier springs.
If you want something out of frame, a small shotgun mic would work well (check out Rode VideoMic for example). A good Dyanmic like the one Deadly mentioned (or the Maono PD2000X for 1/3rd of the price) work as well but are tougher to keep out of frame and still sound good depending on your webcam field of view.
That actually makes sense.. I think the jades are more sensitive and such. So I don’t believe that’ll work. Unfortunately
Yeah Id hold off using that combo
iirc the jades starting force is the same as the L45s, so yeah they prob won’t work.
I highly recommend the low profile book arm to go with the set up.. like Tirade said, it will help keep the mic out of view. I can upload a picture of my set to give a decent idea of how I use it
i have the elgato low profile arm, its fantastic but im tired of moving it. I was using it with a q2u
Ahhh
damn
Sometimes ya just need a change in the set up… nothing wrong with that lol
ive been checking out shotgun and pencil condenser options but haven't pulled the trigger yet
Yeah it depends on your FoV. In my case, a low profile arm wouldnt help keep it out of frame
crisp
But for padcasting then I just pull the podmic down
Makes sense to me
But yeah, a small shotgun mic works great and is easy to keep out of frame
Morning pops
do dyesub legends fade off?
yeah I like that setup for wide shots. I was planning the same before I stopped streaming because sometimes you just want to chat without a mic in your face
They shouldn't.
The syesub is not surface level. It soaks in good into the material.
You'd have to wear down the entire keycap pretty dang hard 😄
alright then i thiught it was just at the surface
And I use it for work and dont want a big mic in the frame for zoom calls lol
possiblr with 10 years. i’ll @ you in 2034 and show you the results
Woa
That's sick
honestly showing up to work related stuff with S tier mic and camera setup is always amusing, because half the people are on shoddy webcams
it's just so overkill to be on a zoom call with a blurred dslr background
i like overkill
i’m about to buy a neumann u87ai for comms in counter strike
joking, of course
Funny story. I work for one of the largest production studios in the western US and when i interviewed here years ago I went out and bought a nice 1080p camera, a key light and good microphone because I wanted to impress them. As a production company I figured they would be all HD and crisp. NOPE. They were all on shit webcams built into their laptops lol
What are some nice looking keycaps to go well with a silver case not 100% satisfied with my spark r2 keycaps
Don’t want abs
yeah lol it's amazing how many amazingly well paid people just use their macbook pro webcam and airpods
SIlver goes with anything except beige. So a ton of good choices
airpods? why are you giving them so much credit, they be using the wired earbuds lmao
the best is when their fan starts going mid call and you hear the brrr sound
what’s wrong with airpods
or you hear their pet in the background
Cuz your the Al mighty one who knows, you have any recommendations ?
bad mic
ohh okay okay
nothing wrong really for occasional stuff, just it's funny when you contrast it to the other guy showing up with a full dslr zoom lens and a shure sm7b
lol true
do audio interfaces have a lot of latency
i can’t really test
nah not if you're using proper wired connection
honestly even wireless you can get low latency options nowadays too
wireless interfaces? didn’t know those were a thing
i use a cheap Behringer UM2, so i may have latency
idk for sure
There are hundreds of choices. Do you want light or dark?
You can get a nice single mic interface for $75-$100 that has all the features you want and wouldnt be an issue. The competition in that price range is great
oo
just went through his UM2 review and couldn’t find a latency test though
what do you think are the best options in that price range? do they noticeably sound better
More a fan of a lighter setup
Arturia MiniFuse, Focusrite Scarlett Solo or Vocaster One are my Favs
Like I said, Silver matches with everything pretty much
If you decide you want Vocaster One LMK and Ill make you a hell of a deal on one I bought last month
well i’m not looking to buy it atm, and i’m not in the US if that matters unfortunately
That would matter. Shipping overseas is a pita lol
Those 3 sounds pretty much identical but you would likely use an EQ with any mic and interface to get it to a sound you like.
@glacial wind check dm
ah, I didn't even see that msg, god bless discords random 'approve dm' thing that only sometimes happens
You can turn it off in settings
It’s the most annoying thing
What's the name of those keycaps, do you know?
think ive decided on keykobo voc keycaps for my module build
lets see how these sound
The same as almost any other plate mount stab lol
Main thing with TX AP is they just have tighter tolerances
But pretty much all plate mount stabs sound the same
im gonna cope and say they are going to make a huge difference
Hahaha alright
but ive been having some trouble with my spacebar stabs rattling so that should fix that as wel
im used to cope man im a retired tarkov player
HAAHHAHHAA
its a hard addiction to break
finally uninstalled the game after playing every wipe since 11.9
last wipe push me close to the edge
never played tarkov, whats a wipe?
i cant do it to myself anymore i just want labs to be as good as it was back in the day
when you die
wipe lasts roughly 6 months and every resets are the 6 months with major changes to the game including maps guns recoil armour system and stuff like that
you lose everything and restart
it’ll never
agreed so i finally quit, how much did you play?
oof thats brutal, but i guess necessary for the game
anyway this channel is for keyboard modding only
okay i see
😂
surely not more than 5k hours
It’s in many games, makes it fun too.
surelyyy
i put in 3k anyway lets leave keep this channel keyboard modding
anyone have any regrets on modding? i wasted too much time with the blade60 it was too uncomfortable for me
only thing I wasted money on is future usage sets
Like there's no reason for me to have keycaps, custom cable and other bits and pieces for a bubble tea colored setup that I won't be building for another 3 years probably
not me buying 3 more gmk sets for my 2 keyboards
Tons of regrets. Mostly from when I was still learning and I wasted money on things I didnt need chasing problems that didnt exist for an end game that has no end.
i feel that, been selling stuff i no longer want due to chasing whats popular
The biggest issue I see daily, even in this channel (or especially in this channel) is the desite to mod for the sake of modding, without having a reason for the mod, or without a real problem to solve.
People will post a list of "Im doing these 20 mods when I get my board" and have no idea what they are going to accomplish or what the end result will sound like. Often times, they hate it in the end
oh yeah, ive mostly been modding cosmetic stuff. i do want to switch out my lekkars since i want some tighter tolerences
my favorite are the random "fixes" that one guy discovers and everyone races to do
im just happy to try new things
I think in the https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399 it starts out by saying that mods should be done with a purpose in mind to solve a specific problem or make a specific change and they should be done one at a time.
alright then
People will order new stabs for their 60HE before even getting their board for example.
In my case I need to buy almost everything beforehand, because with only the module, nothing will work
I mean a module + foam as que 'stand' for a keyboard is not the ideal way
Yep, I always recommend people do one mod at a time. After learning everything I’ve learned, I barely have any mods on my wooting board imo. But then you have some people with like 20 mods lol
Thats a different scenario. Changing to plate mount or screw-in stabs because you want to gummy mount, is solving a problem. Buying a new stabs because you read on reddit some guy who said his stock stabs had a slight tick, is a horrible idea.
also you do have like a 300 dollar case which typically takes less modding
Tbh I feel like an expensive case isn’t like the end game or anything
You can make a great board in a tofu
Or anything similar
Are the new 70 pack switches lubed well enough so I don’t need to?
you can make a great board in a tofu I just think it takes more mods
Guess it depends on what you’re going for
First is having a working keyboard, second put what you want to change or achieve, third do only those things to do what you need/want
Achieving a certain sound on the keyboard is the sum of all parts
There’s a lot of placebo in modding too lol
I like the Salvation but as CAM said, Ive heard cases under $100 sound just as good.
Yeah I love my salvation. I just don’t wanna sit here and recommend people go buy $300+ cases
btw is there any reason why most of the standoff holes in the github page are 3.5mm while only one is 2.5mm?
ah
nvm
figured it out
it is holes the silicone pokes through
the grey ones are 3.5mm for the threaded inserts
the blue ones are the silicone
most people just use painters tape
Yeah the blue painters tape is good to use
you can see a video on it in #🪛│modding_faq
I want a high quality keycaps set that is compatible with the HE+ and doesn't shine
I'm new to keyboards in general and from what I gathered cherry profile keycaps are better for gaming and PBT material is best for long lasting and high quality
Am I correct?
If I'm wrong please correct me If you will. and please suggest a good keycaps set
depend on but objectively correct
Is this one considered good?
If you're doing multiple layers then I like to have 1/2 of painter's tape and 1/2 of electrical tape
electrical tape is very sticky though so you have to cover the pcb entirely in painter's tape before using electrical tape
novelkeys pbt is good enough for me
No shining and legends are printed will?
Wooting keebs are compatible with most Cherry/cross stem keycaps with 1.25u bottom keys and 6.25u space, so... like a most popular layout out there, some sets may not include ISO keys, but should offer them as add-ons #🪛│modding_faq message
I get it now
I wanna combo these with the redux case how will that combo sound?
Yes
i would say other keycap would achieve much thockier that is other thing
focus on these
Could suggest some please
Jades require long pole stabs and maybe lubricant them
Too much headache for me hahaha
geon raptor he then
I'll get them jades
tape mod , plate foam and pc plate do most the job
I'll buy the HE+
I have
but it is higher profile than cheery
it might affect comfortness
I won't recommand mt3 for gaming
i would use wristrest lol
but yeah
Could you recommend some as I play LOL a lot and I mash my Q a lot
just cherry or oem
I want one that provides thock sound
That's not exactly true.
He+
Long pole stabs
Jades
Redux+brass weight
Cherry profile keycaps
Am I missing something?
tbh a 30 dollar keycap set from amazon is low key good enough
If (and I mean IF) you have a stab imbalance with the jades, you could just buy some o-rings to put around the stab stem to help offset the difference. it wouldnt be required to buy new stabs.
Will that be possible with the HE+?
the thockfather coming in with the knowledge
screw in would only have less intererence with o rings
in which case just use clip ins
because they have even less interferrence
If I use the L45s I won't have this much headache right?
i mean i dont think there is much headache with the jades
I really liked the screw in stabs in the badseed vid I don't wanna screw them
I agree
From what I get I could use the jades with the HE+ without changing stabs
If I wanna change switch I'll go straight with the jade
jade is 10-20 day shipping for $4, 5-7 for $20
jade sounds better, raptor /w stem change has less wobble
why would u need to change stabs
Because of the 0.5 difference in traveling distance between the Jades (3.5) and the screw in stabs in the HE+ (4.0)
The solution is to get long pole stabs
Don't get my word for it as I'm a novice at keyboards
Honestly it can really not be an issue IF you don’t push your sides of spacebar hard or if your keycaps (space mainly) are quite tight
Like plenty of people use wuque morandis on non longpole stabs without having the issue come up
I’d honestly try it out on the stock stabs first and see if you get the issue then only get the tx ap long poles if you do
I don’t see it being an issue personally
Got the Jades in, let’s see if they were worth
One thing that will change though is the sound profile between long pole and non long pole stabs will be different on that space bar specifically
Which sounds better?
It’s personal preference. Neither really is better but because they sit slightly different heights you will notice a slight sound change
I usually recommend not going with long poles unless the feeling bothers you, as if you choose to swap to a switch with a 4.0mm travel distance it isn’t ideal
quick question, Ive seen ppl doing lekker L60 stem with raptor he shell to reduce wobble
does this also apply to L45
I believe the difference in L60 and L45 is just the spring but I may be wrong
yea thats what im thinking but just want to double check
Cool thanks!
Yes both switches are the same so it can be applied to the l45 as well
like sindria said the difference in both switches are the springs
thats good to know appreciate the answers
can you please do a sound test whne you finish?
Has anyone swapped the Jade stems with the Lekkers in the Jade housing? Does that even work? What does it sound like?
Im using the morandis rn on non longpole stabs and have no problem
@harsh dove you think you can do this?
cam been putting in the hours LMAO
Haven’t tried
And I almost feel like it might not work because of the longer magnet
And the closed vs open bottom housings
is there a thread with all his sound tests
no
if you search jade:has video you should be able to find them easy enough
i got all the vids pulled up
Case is the Alumaze60 with some basic mods and Akko WOB keycaps MDA profile
the audio is quiet but it sounds awesome
im so excited for my build but I still got probably another 3-4 week until everything gets here
so far here and on the way I got:
Tofu redux: black
brass weight
wooting+ module
lekker L60 switches
wrist rest
jade switches
tx ap rev 4 stabs
pe switch pads
50a o-ring
kbdfan keycaps
more 205g0
polyfill
Hey, does anyone know where to buy a good pbt black pudding keycaps set in iso format ?
I Live in Europe if that can help.
List of shops, lots of EU ones too 👍
Thanks 👍
sound test
im liking the way this list looks
xd
that wouldnt be a keebmat then though :P
you also dont want the porous rubber touch the alu, would stick to it and rub off, better to have a fabric layer
keebmats are 20% off right now btw.
https://fxtwitter.com/keebmatcom/status/1741804497767211174
(which includes thockfilm and keebtape, which can be handy with wooting/ks20)
Thanks! Are you with keebmat?
I mean I have one I'm using right now too, I just meant are you associated with them?
TAMBEEK :)
haha for sure
If you were with them I was going to buy another right now just as an appreciation for a vendor popping in to say hey
haha only buy one if you really need one - i know japanese users buy a lot of keebtape and the thockfilm for their wootings
(so do I use them in my 60he)
I could use a 75/TKL one for the upcoming Wooting 80HE, so I'll buy one as thanks.
what
Likely conflicting software from another accessory
are you using wootility to find ur non wooting?

oh its specific
BOY aint no way
And there it is.
bro
Order placed. Ends with 149. Thanks for the discount code
not to be rude or anything, but that has to be the dumbest thing ive read today.
yes WOOTility is WOOTINGS specific software that only works on wooting kbs
But WOOTomation is not
he should use wootomation then
I had never heard of it
thank you :)
my bad sorry
howd u hear of wootility and not found a wootign?
and what were you gonna do on wootility on your non wooting kb?
friends
there’s third party software that works with wooting boards?
he just said get this app and you can conifg and etc
*desktop software
no lol
or maybe
ah alright, would’ve been strange if that worked
ur friends a real nut
buy a wooting!
Hi everyone, i'm looking for feedback about mod on the TWO HE if some of you have done it : )
oh wassup keebs
remember your pfp
instaantly recognized
I saw the link but didnt click it haha.
The Thockfather

I guess I have to start embracing it before the streams start.
👍
haha it’s sfw
so may i? :p
damn

new year new us
ye
^oh lord
we need a clackking
I love you guys lol
its called Lekker 60
love you too pops
lekkers are just kinda their own thing but leaning more thocky (I think)
anyone here got jade switches from gateron.com? wondering about shipping time, ordered 3 days ago and still awaiting shipping so just wanna get a time frame of when i will get them
absolutely not
they sound more thocky to me (after being handlubed ofc), but imo that doesnt rlly matter because raptors are still more clacky.
jesus
fighting plate actually
I’ll be Father Salvation
:D
wtf am I looking at
and I'm just here
It works though
Finally made an AI to spit out something that's not utter garbage
howd u create that
oh yeasah
YESSSSSS
https://www.bing.com/create, 15 "creations" for free a day
bruh i gotta log in
W
Im stealing it
If only we could make him bald
I mean... inpainting could probably do that.
whatchu put
Well my gf said the beard isnt white enough so now Im tweaking it lol
lel
whaat did you put for your image
i wanna make one myself :p
Oh I just used Calslock's image and prompted it to make the guy bald and younger. It just took a while. Now Im trying to make the beard white...
getting closer
Not going to spam this in here anymore though. Gotta stay on topic!
I dunno, just upload that image and say something like "Recreate this image but imagine him as a 15 year old Asian lad and change the words to The Thockson"
how i upload the image
Just use keywords, like in search engine
Something like A Godfather movie poster, instead of Godfather title put Thockfather in the same font, holding a computer keyboard and repeat until you get something you like
Oh maybe you can't upload attachments on some platforms? I have a paperclip icon
Yeah, you can't on Bing AI
hmmmmmmmmm
have you guys seen these ?
Looks pretty intensive but nice
i kinda wanna wait for them, but est delivery of may is going to drive me nuts haha
Are they all hand painted?
I think so? cause these one's are:
Behind the scenes of making Chinese lacquer ceramic keycaps. The production process is a labor of love, involving delicate handcrafted techniques that are repeated many times. It takes numerous rounds of testing to achieve the perfect color and texture.
However, lacquer art is not only admired for its stunning visual appeal. The lacquer coating ...
same company
Love it.
Did I just witness the evolution from Tirade to The Thockfather
Probably slightly off what factory specs actually are, but these were measured with my calipers.
With some margin of error
who makes the raptor ones? jade and lekker are both gateron, they should be fairly identical
Geonworks
ooo
Fully compatible with GEONWORKS VENOM HE PCB.
oh he made a HE board? totally missed that
looks like its also gateron
ye they do
pretty heavy springs in comparison
no left thumb
Geon sells them, not sure who makes them but I have a few ideas. There are currently 6 or 7 different manufacturers making HE switches
their pcb is compatible with tiger lite which is great
This is interesting. This means the Jades have a normal KS-20/Lekker stem which would explain Gateron’s naming as well.
Could you measure the bottom housing/the rails where the stem sits?
For the KS-20s and the Jades?
looks like those switches have magnet issues and gateron apparently announced their patent filling right after they came out...
To compare
Raptors have a magnet issue?
sounds like some people complained about inconsistent magnets
Oh haven’t heard that before
Interesting. I heard that Gateron had a patent claim against Neo Studio (Qwertykeys) who had that issue with a Jade clone. I had not heard that about the Raptors though - https://twitter.com/FRemare/status/1740375846693810348
two people independently said there were talks about that
Interesting
