just presents no dinner?
New 2024 version SAT study book? Lol
but my mom is gonna get me a mousepad :)
Can also use as mouse pad
including that lol]
wtf, your mom does you so well?
wtf
Which pad? And why
Zowie GSR SE Gris
you play on high sens or something?
you make do with that
Dual wielding tape measures, i need one
Bet you can fit an act and sat book in that space too
Perfect keyboard angle
lmao
damn i put mine like straight xD
Yeah cause we are intellectuals
Same
like straight straight no ocd or shit but like
Nah 45 degree tilt
lol
im someone who loves access to like my full size keys thats why
Ftw
tru
I just only slide it to the left or right depending on games
i play 45 degrees
Any thoughts on the artisan zero? Just marketing hype or does someone actually have it that can comment?
yeah i do slide its end towards myself at times, like 10 degree to 25 degree at most
ik in pic doesnt seem like it but i was moving it around for the measuring tape
im currently using the fx zero
Yeah i mainly slide it for my rhythm games, soo comfortable
its a great mousepad, but it gets dirty really easily
Merry Christmas everyone!
o i heard the zero pad is reallly goood
Merry Christmas!!!
yea i asked what deskpad to get previously
How is it better than the standard pad?
someone suggested me to get 3 of the fx zero xl LMAO
LMAO
I have a xl hyper x fury. Had it for 6 years and it's showing it's age. Looking to upgrade
Good ol cleaning can make em last
Yeah you were like 3 years old then
i previously rock the asus scabbard v1 which was pretty much a mid speed pad, but my current fx zero xl soft, i feel its like almost the same but with even more control. the fx series features the better edges so it doesnt string out and the material of the fx zero feels quite good imo.
my final review is that like you dont really need to spend a whole lot of money on a mousepad like the artisan pads. its overadvertised, overexaggerated but overall id say that its a good experience to be able to try it out for yourself
I would say I wash my pad like every 3-5 months
I wish I didn't go xsoft on my zero
How quick do you notice your dead skin cells on the pad?
Y
my room does get dusty easily and yea its annoying, dead skin cells do fall on the mousepad really easily i guess? but i usually swipe them off before i can accumulate them on my mousepad.
for the fx zero i took really good care of it, i put nothing on my mousepad other than my mouse itself (no phone no power bank no random shit)
but one think to take note of though that i noticed is that the mousepad scratches really easily, so dont try to use ur finger to scrape off something stuck in the mousepad, it will cause a mark (even my mouse scratches the mousepad, is it a me problem?)
I like myself some cloth speed
Your mouse scratches it??? How do you wash it?
Glass would be something id prob hate
I love it, so fast. Ironically I have really bad tremors though🤣
D:
Saw glass pads stick to your wrists and arms though unless you wear a degen wrist sleeve
i think when i play fps i hold my mouse down a little tighter thats why when i track enemies it scratches it
Just use a hoodie sleeve or long sleeve shirt
would you sometimes need a sleev for cloth pad?
Yeah
Absolute degens. That's not my opinion
Don't need to worry about sweat slowing your arm down
lmao
It is, stay mad about it though
Objective fact, go open pg 23 of times magazine 2021, it's there
That's very much so an opinion
;-;
my posture is dogshit tbh thats probably why my skin is touching the mousepad and that its fairly annoying.
Regardless
2nd paragraph line 2
dunno what yall talking abt
I don't have issues on my glass pad, I just wear long sleeves or hoodies
Not a huge fan of high control, my 120g mouse feels so waaah with em
i feel that the sleeve would be nice lol since it doesnt slow my wrist/arm down as much but i feel its a stretch to do it all the time when i gameee
Apparently I'm mad though so I'm sticking to it 😆
It is nice, they are just mad about it for some reason
My desks are always just too tall that i cant help my arms touching the pad lol
fr my g502 feels so sluggish on a control pad
Why would a man want their wrists to be touched
Very chunky but i love em
ye my desk is either too tall or my chair doesn't go high enough xD thats the problem, im like 169cm tall and i cant get a good posture on my mouse
I swapped from my g502 to a super light 2 a couple months ago to see what all the hype was about.
Got that long legs and arms but shorter torso build
I use lamzu mice
You can always use a sleeve. Prob only recommended for glass pad tho
im waiting on my finalmouse ulx, hopefully qc doesnt fail me
Now Whenever I use my wife's 502 it feels like I'm trying to move a brick
Thats a good plan
Gonna see if I like it or not
i dont really thiknk i would like slow control pads
i think med speed or a little bit faster would be good for me
i use a hyperx pulsefire haste 2 wirless so :p 60g
once my ulx comes im gonna have 2 bricks
my 100g g502 mini brick
and my redux60he BRICK
Looks great man! What caps and usb cord are those??
I'm not ordering ulx until like 8-10 batches are made
Not taking chances with finalmeme QC
im on batch 2 i think
Yeah thats why im picking up the venus pro, heard its more towards speed and it was on decent sale so now was a best time to pick one up, just waiting for delivery to get a full feel of it
i love the shape of ghpx :)
Initially I did, my wrists got tender from rubbing on the cloth. Then I decided to be a man about it and built up my wrist skin using a cheese grater
So uncomfortable for claw and ftip
Ftipping gpx is the only somewhat comfortable way to hold it for me
Mouse bumps are so comfy
your hands big?
But the flat sides make it annoying
Fairly yeah
mm
cus now i think abt it
i think my claw grip is a little weird
but idk
Measure it, what's your span? I bet lil tenz is bigger.
im gonna transition from a g502 to a ulx medium, hope that i can get used to it
Like 20x12
Good luck with the transition
Took me a few days but I went from 120g to 53g now I can't go back
Lightweight mice are so nice
fr
Ulx being 37g will be fun
My lamzu is like 55g
Id let go and flick it into my pc
its the size diff im scared of
How to measure 👀
OH GOOD LUCK HAHA
oh lol we pulled out the same webpage xD
Measure the width of your hand at your knuckles and length from where your palm starts to middle finger
Switching to a non-side grip can be weird at first
uh inches or cm
or mm
Cm
how should i have my hand
Yeah I need a half weight ambi ftip mouse
If you want maybe a smoother transition consider trying the dav3
Might go ulx small or vv2 pro mod
I just spread my hand out
waiting later this evening for my 2nd set of keycaps to arrive
My only option for ulx is large
Schweet
replacing the "sidelit crap"
I wouldn't be able to comfortably use/use at all any other sizes besides large
length is 19cm
the sides are kat while the alphas are kam
im confused on the width
Spicy
How tf you using small mice
Yeah I’m 20x10 fingertip grip
L: 19cm
W: 10cm
my mouse is smool?
I thought you said you were gonna get ulx small or something
Or am I thinking of a different person
i didnt say iw as buying a mice
different person
i have a hyperx pulsefire haste 2 wirless
Ah
is there different ways to hold a claw grip
I said that
^
And I have 20x10
I play like pincer claw
For Tenz Jr without glasses

Atlantis og v2
i cant even see it with glasses 💀
lol bruh
Green is making contact with the mouse right?
That’s so aggro lol
Yeah i kinda need to
whai yu hol maice nid so angeri harh
Only other way I can really hold it is ftip
where u find a tofu redux at
the mice ate it away
It's there🤣
@grave kayakkbdfans
I do forward palm grip personally
they will charge you $35 for shipping though
wow but imagine how much faster you will be with just four fingers
this is what i meant by i think my claw grip is weird or whatever
That 4th photo looks like an alien🤣🤣
Gleep glorp
index on M1, middle on/in front of scroll wheel, ring is on M2
i have pincer claw
you use your middle finger for the mouse wheel WHAT THE HELL
the first two pic is pretty much how i hold my mouse too
thats not a zoomer thing lmfao
for what though
It's for scroll hopping while aiming
thats just person to person
I play val
obv 🙄
my scroll wheel is my secondary bind to jump
same here
get well soon lil bro
thats what i was thinking
On apex I play finger middle scroll so I can do movement while shooting and aiming
im the spacebar csgo bhopper xD
yep lol
Same
Freak
ive did it for too many hours tbh, it was like before bhop even got that famous
I use middle finger scroll and that's weird
so i was like too lazy to learn the scrollwheel
Remember doing titanfall 2 bhop on controller so much
this what im buying my wooting for
and it felt wierd
to control your honda 2018?
i use fingertip for normal stuff
Based spoof
normal wheel aint cutting it
analog wooting honda 2018
need to use kb and mouse
Idk what makes me decide between claw or ftip
I just kinda play both depending on how I'm feeling
Probably just in-the-moment times
when i decide to play serious i play like shit
Which size ULX?
Illl rarely do the 3 finger top out of necessity
i do miss my 502 freespin scroll wheel though
when i decide to focus up, i play better
I never had a mouse with that
and my back and forward button for webpages
when i play normally i play normally
When i focus up i suck
i somehow had it for a mouse i bought for office (razer pro click mini)
do i need any of this
My basilisk has one
for the tofu redux
internal brass weight
I use the thing thats makes it auto freespin
@marsh saffronhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWBrT3vMcyA
just get it for the sake of using it for incase intruders
i have the brass weight on my redux too
Theyll never expect my high speed scroll potential to crash games
lmao
feels like im more than ready to take on intruders when i have to
what abt the compatible plates?
dont get the fr4
if you want clack, fr4 sure
if you want thocc, wooting pc plate or stock metal plate
but kinda shit with the lekkers
Impressive it didn't explode
When it doubt, wooting it out (spinsored by alumaze)
feel and sound
Steel plates are so nice
ngl tho the fr4 do be looking kinda cute
did i see honda 2018 user 😭
i dont like that uglyass clip thing on the top left T_T
HHAA
at how i can shield swap without chipping the paint on the plate
o
Thats why we case swap
It's for the strap
alumaze is lowkey not it
shield 😂
There's only medium yet, but weights as much as the big one according to fm's website
Lekker switches FTW
is it just purely aesthetic
i love it too
oo i remember that
send it to me
i see no practical use for it
i like that
Yeah
which?
the strap on
Getting custom straps instantly boost lows by +0% (big increase)
wrap?
Chicken wrap
tortilla
yeah my dad had the idea of wrapping my desk with some plastic material type sheet
yeah he has 4 xl magnum condoms over each desk leg
i hate thoseee

Gotta protect the floor
i feel like that would stick to my arm
bro thought it was a good idea to keep it clean in some certain damn way
exactly, dont want the floor gettting prego
like
just clean the desk ez
Id just rather normally clean
exactly
i bought three 78" x 36" x 2" butcher block countertop to cut down into a desk
was thinking about installing these legs on it https://flowyline.com/products/metal-table-legs-401-wishbone
you guys have any inputs?
i dont wanna look at desk builds anymore so LMAO, but im rocking an omnidesk classic legs with ikea countertop
my carbboard ikea desk has been slowly sinking in the middle, had it for almost 9 years now. im due for a forever upgrade
i brought my parents to ikea to help me get the countertop, i walked straight to it and they asked like 10 billion questions when i already did my research beforehand
ye its a good choice, i was thinking about getting an ikea counterstop or one from the bigbox stores
I was too lazy to get a countertop
why the fuck is shipping 25 dollars
i wanted to have a wood tabletop and not spend a fortune on omnidesk so yea
this is how the table turned out
but a dude at lowes offered me ones with some scratches for $99 instead of $400 so picked up 3
make sure to tip them too or theyll spit on your keyboard
Im just waiting for my monitor lightbar and i think im all setup for a loong time
25 dollars you have it lucky
don't get me going about shipping fee-
@void hollowlooks great man, similar asethetic im aiming for
Ye pretty much what i aimed at too
RIP
Except coffee colored rgbs
though im aiming to have a 42" monitor next to a couple of 24" so im not sure how im going to make that look nice
if you're thinking on a custom table build, please make sure it can handle the load you're giving it
Probably stack
Thats how id set up a 42 with 24 personally
Hate moving my neck to different screens
@void hollowye, ive ran the calculations, full wood butcherblock can handle a few hundred pounds with pointload
@sweet oakhow though? i cant wrap my head around to make it look nice
best i came up with is to have the 42: on the left and the 2 24" on the right stacked
Ooh i didnt see the word couple
but then like i want to use one to the 24" as the main competitve gaming monitor
actually no, i think with a 42" i wont need 2 24"
used the cord that came with the 60he and i used these keycaps https://kbdfans.com/collections/pbtfans-in-stock/products/pbtfans-doubleshot-spark?variant=41527059054731
Specs Material: PBT material (semi-transparent keycaps in Blue mod kit are ABS material) Profile: Cherry profile Production Method: Doubleshot Manufacturer: PBTfans Packaging: ABS keycaps tray ( 3 layers) with designed tray cover Friendly Reminds: Only keycaps included, no keyboard Compatibility: Cherry MX switches and
prefer running 2 monitors over 1 large monitor
thanks man, your msg made me realize i wanted 2 24" for no reason
a large monitor would either be stuck to its original stand it came with or id have to purchase an expensive arm to host it
does running 2 monitors affect performance?
Anything over 32 inch for my is too big personally
no
@void hollowim planning to mount all my monitors to the wall
not much to my knowledge, but its widely debated
ah thats convenient
Yeah if any, very unnoticeable hit
i want a monitor arm but hell my fatah desk wont let it clamp
i hate monitor arms tbh
thus i got a solid pole mount instead
and i prefer having more desk space too thus i stack mounted my monitors
why not?
on the part whereby its annoying to adjust the arms sometimes, they dont get into the right position i want, accidentally touch something i gotta readjust the arms again. thus i hate monitor arms
so i cant do wall mount either
what is that part for?
what part
yeah thats a yikesy
what the hell how deep is your desk? 12"?
or theres no where to clamp
Yeah my current desk has that issue too
theres barely enough space for my boom arm to clamp as well
you can drill a hole through the desk and clamp. almost all arms come with a drill through option
Could improvise with some wood blocks to give it enough space
Dunno how that would change the stability
this to
where do your monitors sit?
there are always the few problems ive encountered:
the boom arm
headphone cable
cable management as a whole
i just spent an entire day modding my ikea desk to accept some wire management hardware
this is where my boom arm is clamping onto
the boom arm
okay so ive set it to the corner of my table, great its clamped somewhere really well BUT its so obstructive to my desk space when i wanna use my mic
rip
Yep
If you're wondering
i have another table in front of my main table as a place to put my monitor on (Built a deck for some height)
parents doesnt like the monitor to be close at all, so the monitor atm is like somewhat 3ft away from my face
the headphone cable
okay so my headphone cable is too long, so i three way braided it into a shorter cable, great! now, does the cable just run down the middle of my tabletop and touch my skin over here and over there. and can i stop trying to break my headphones with my chair lovingly pulling my headphone cables at times (i run an audio interface so yea)
or for some of you will be, damn headphone cable coming from my pc case, having a cable dangling so obstructive bruh
Those covers are always a lifesaver for hiding cables
fr
your monitor better be like 37" +
;-;
3 flippin feet is way too far
@fluid ravinethey saying that cause of the old wives tale of needing glasses when youre too close to the tv?
27" monitor
165 hz
cable management
it feels like i can never cable manage something without feeling like im tugging on it too much, it feels like theres a solution for those ultra long cables, but maybe i might just be too lazy to be under my desk for a few hours sweating my ass off to manage it properly
idfk 😭
yeah dont question them, if they anything like my parents, they would beat my ass for questioning their authority. 😦
i wont
:)
you smart ! lol
but..
since im home alone for alot of the time (every day)
i put my monitor on my main desk when i play comp
it did take my ass 1.5 days to redo all the wiring and adding a temporary triple monitor arm
mounting a power strip under the table has got to be the best way to cable manage imo
buff :)
Its very minimal
ye, i used to have mine velcroed to the underside but with the new wiremanagment hardware i got, it can just sit in there
lol thats so sad man, i feel ya
and oh yeah fock this
welll you are in the middle of a living room, hard to do clean anyways
its not gonna kill me anyways
exactly
The inevitable struggle
i have zero clue how to fix that
This is mine lol
@void hollowhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FW3MKGH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The Alex Tech split sleeving is made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). It's split and easy to load wires, no need to consider the size of wire connector plug. Wires can go out at any position in the sleeving. Our wiring loom is used in wire wrap wire protection of a wide assortment of wires ...
looks great man
i meant like, the fact that its gonna be hanging out either way
since the cables arent long enough to go under the desk
guess you need extensions then i fyou dont want them showing up at all
i could face my pc the other way and it could fix the problem,
but its gonna defeat the purpose of me getting a meshify c
hmm
gonna be a little bit tuff to turn it on
one hole for my keyboard cable
and another for my monitor
Setup coloring whiplash
i have no clue where to place my webcam tbh

Id just eat it, hate webcams
we dont talk abt em
Gotta save so e for the winter
i have a layer of shelf thats meant for keyboard stuff
but now its just full of trash
damn lol

give me a tldr
planning to spring swap
What size you thinking of swapping them to?
tldr?
too long didnt read
oh
sec coc
im watching it rn
o ok lol
I usually skip to the end of those
k i skipped to the end, he didnt like the keycaps and the stock case
And get no answer
cant
then i stand on top of you
yeah this is true
then im on top
and your wooting is broken
yeah tahts just gay
Then I put a Wooting on Tenz jr head
what? 😂
oh no i mean stem swap haha
Wooting stays on top
real
Tetris
Ah gotcha
like swap to the escatic l60's blue stem
Raptor housing, l60 stem, l45 spring
then maybe swap housing when better he switches come out
@fluid ravinei remember you mentioned that some mods for the wooting wasnt worth it, can you give me the list?
i dont like using the burger mount tbh
what films?
where do these films go?
useless piece of crap
yea i think quite a few people mentioned films are annoying to put on in the first place
between the housings
and they dont really do crap
^^
for me personally, i just struggle to put it on the screws and screw it into the case
id rather gasket mount it
Whatchu ordering
😭
i got the case and the module ordered
coiled cables, possibly overrated?
and the keycaps
Ok try to make a list
and i will review it
i cant get them to coil right lmao
Just gimme a solid straight black cable and im set personally
and got the coiled cable from wooting even though they were overpriced as hell, i liked the look
great then
switches? @stable kindle
fr imo as long as you like it
straight, huh. sounds like you are over compensating

ordered the l60's at the same time as the module cause it was $20 and the nerds in here werent gushing over the raptors yet
il give you a list of what i ordered
👍
and what mods im planning to do
goooood
thank you thocc prince
spending 58 dollars on a coiled cables seems like a stretch
oh hell no
Thats 2000% overpriced for cables
@harsh dove im wondering
is there any gasket performance in the salvation case even with gummy mount?
They better be braided with plutonium or smth to get that price
anyways im spending sgd so its
(1.33 sgd = 1.33 cad = 1usd)
Haven’t tried it with gummy mount, I’ve thought about it though
do it xD
I’ll do it when I get home

As I anticipate the arrival of my first Wooting keyboard (60HE), I would greatly appreciate any recommendations you might have regarding the mods that can be made to this fabulous keyboard. Don't be afraid to ping me!
what
tldr, what mods should I do for my first wooting keyboard?
oh
i read it so wrong
look into this first
if you have any further questions about a mod just ask us here
lovely, will do
👍
polyfill is amazing tbh
its cheap and great
i got it for 4 dollars inclusive of shipping
wow we've been here for almost 2 hours lol
i remember working for frys electronics( like best buy) in my younger years
going through their system i saw they were getting those 100% gold plated hdmi cables in for $2-5 and marked them up to $200+
im losing braincells on how shadowplay records left only
when it comes to lubing the switches for the first time, is it better to lube the stem only or the whole switch?
Stem, rails and railtracks so to say
and the spring separately
Spring requires different lube though
You can do the base of the springs with 205g0 if you don’t have anything else
But I use SuperLube Oil for my springs
You could brush or dip the spring ends with the same lube but if you're going to lube the entire spring I'd suggest something thinner.
I ordered a Wooting 60HE+ with the Lekker60 switches, do i still need Lube and if yes which lube do you recommend? the one from wooting or some other brand?
I never lubed anything keyboard related so I am open for suggestions and tips
Can someone recommend a white case for 30 dollars or something like that? I want to buy the 60he module and I want to use the 45g springs so that’s why I need an own case…
Oh haha yup it's:
- Switches are L45 with Krytox 205g0
- Case is Tofu Redux with original foam but with only one layer so it fits in the case
- Clipped Stab fangs
- XDA keycaps (Macaroon Second) bought from Amazon
Feel like it’s the keycaps making it sound like that
oh tyy !! thats all? kinda feel like there is no chattering sound
Yup that's all
that the cream of the crop oil for springs?
Don’t think so, most probably use GPL105
@harsh dove looks like there are a million different brands. they all the same?
I’d honestly just get the sueprlube oil lol
Super Lube 51004 Synthetic Oil with PTFE, High Viscosity, 4 oz Bottle,Translucent white(Packaging may vary) https://a.co/d/6A9BNCU
Tends to be cheaper for a lot more
Vs $7 for a way bigger bottle
yeah id like to see the chemical composition of these oils. can see a likely hood of shit being extremely similar products but one with high mark up
Yeah
Yo wait stock foam doesnt fit 60 redux ?
Damn didnt know
Thanks for letting me know tho
It fits after you peel off the bottom layer of the Wooting case foam
Yes, I peeled it
charcoal GOAT set
if i remember correctly are there alternate springs i can buy for my switches opposed to just outright buying the entire set of switches?
Wooting are planning to re-release more but not sure about third party springs, other than farming switches
just be careful to not use this with topre boards, other than that the grease and oil are fine for MX style switches
which weight would you look for?
the same as the 45g switch
oh i see
i loveee the cool spiral cords
OH I SEE THAT
maybe gonna buy another set and check it beforehand LOL
usually i only like the esc being a diff height
yeah, the spacebar feels so meh tbh
the spiral isnt straight and i cant get it straight and it is the annoying me everytime i see it
you remind me, there was once i lost a screw
dual track = dounle stage spring?
i was wondering why i couldnt put the switch into the pcb
the screw was hiding in the l60 lmao
@harsh dove sound like new switch for you try lol
ah this must be the double rail one
@fluid ravine when become switchman
at this stage I'm just watching the tests to see which I'd end up with on next wooting tkl/75
yalls keep reminding me of the tkl/75
already happy with the low chatter on the raptors on my 60he, now just need to see what I'd put in the tkl/75
dual rail i'd definitely have to hand lube, you'd probably feel the scratchiness more if there's any inconsistent factory lube there
NO it looks fine leave it alone
cord go loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de loop de
Another one?!
released 4 days ago
are you supposed to only do tape or foam mod, or can you do both
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has experience working with the kbdfans fr4 plate? I got one recently and when screwing down the plate standoff near the spacebar the stabilizers do not come back up and keep the spacebar held down. I have to remove the screw entirely for the spacebar to rise after pressing, and even then it still feels scratchy to press the spacebar. Has anyone had any problems like this and were they able to fix it?
you can do both
BadSeedTech used the exact same plate and he didnt seem to have any issues with it
Yeah i have stab fittment issues on my FR4 plate too. My lshift, rshift n back don't come back up. My guess it grips them too tight and I did see some other people reporting the same issue. What I did is contact kbdsupport and I think I'm close to getting a replacement.
I regret getting an iso because the keycap sets are more expensive, the enter key breaks the symmetry of having 1 key per row, and I can't replace the stock switch plate. I also realised that I don't need the extra keys when it's so easy to configure different layers, and it's 2 more switches to lube.
iso looks better tho
thanks bro
hello, I would like to know if putting custom keycaps slows down the typing speed given that there is more material than a simple keycaps
No difference.
im on fr4 plate, i have stabs issues too but i already fixed it, just fixed the clips pretty much to put them in their reset position and they dont get stuck anymore
I’ve got a question if we want to change the switches on my wooting can I only change it to those that wooting are selling for example the l45 switch or can I mod it with any magnetic switch?
Oh alright thank you
any is a stretch for now, but some others will work, just make sure that they state it
👍 thanks
now we have the raptors which is a popular option within this channel, but honestly id just wait out and see what other he switches gets developed before nailing down on one
Yeah I’ve found them you reckon that they are a good alternative to lekker switches?
They are, but there’s like 2 other options that came out recently too so I’d wait a week and see which of the 3 you prefer the most if you want to swap out your lekkers
The 2 new ones are gateron switches and you’ll see sound tests for them and compatibility tests too once more people start receiving theirs
Oh alright I’ll keep an eye out than thank you
id wait more than just a week for it tbh, id probably wait even half a year for competition to arise in the he switches market
if you're looking for all those minimally better you're just putting your wallet into the rabbit hole
I mean if you’re waiting half a year then you’re going into the ‘forever waiting’ zone honestly
Switches are always changing and improving
You’ll forever be waiting for that new switch coming around the corner if you wait that long
ideally imo, half a year seems fairly okay as per compared to seemingly be "desperate" for the switches, i mean if its a hobby and you do have the money to continuously spend i dont see why not.
half a year feels like it would be enough time for competition lacking behind to show up with their version of the he switches.
dont get me wrong tho its just my opinion, nothing against those who spend on switches this early, its all by personal preference and choice:)
Yeah I agree. Either buy them all or wait six months lol
HE market just heating up
I feel like by then we’ll have a better idea of what we want out of a good HE switch
i don't got a job rn, purely living on allowance and savings
so even if i wanted to buy them all there are some limitations

yes purely clowning when you see my kb spendings

In 6 months it’ll only be another 6 months to raptor 2.0 and gateron 3.0 though
That’s just how the keyboard hobby works, especially with switches. Never ending cycle of changes
Then another 3 months after someone will invent long pole switches for he or something else
The keyboard mod rabbit hole never ends so you just have to make judgement calls on your hobby spending
It ends when you reach satisfaction, your perfection. You can always chase true perfection but like you said, it always changes. It is a game impossible to win.
?
I doubt you will find a high quality case that cheap
maybe on aliexpress
It doesnt need to be good it should work like the normal one on the wooting…
KBDFans Tiger Lite ABS White, check if it's compatible. Well it seems out of stock on Ali but it's more or less that price
By the way it has that housing, it'll need modifications
Or maybe resin cases are around 30$
that seems to be for tkl
Yup it seems so
The gh60 compatible ones are more expensive mmm
@fluid ravine what was the gummy o-ring mount that you did? im trying to cop the same one
like the specific ring
Not sure which one his is but a lot of people use the graveshift medium 30a o-ring
hey has anyone found a good PBT low profile keycap similar to the wooting stock caps?
Stock caps are OEM profile. If you want lower than that look at cherry profile. If thats not low enough there are other options but you start to get big gaps between the switch and keycaps
Thanks for this. I purchased and tried some OEM low profile keycaps but there is such a quality difference between wooting's and these. I'll look into cherry
thank you
Anybody here compared the Geon HE switches to the new Gateron Jades? I'm doing a new 60 HE build with the module and I want to try some new switches out.
just put some boba u4ts in a board and i am in love
i know i'm like 2 years late to the party
but i just got back into keyboards this year
Good afternoon, what I miss
Same; im waiting on reviews of Jade and KS20 white to decide which one to buy. I need to replace those lekkers
KS20 white is a waste of time
Hey, just got my wooting 60he, and i wanted to get a Tofu 60 redux with the internal brass weight, but the brass weight is out of stock. Just wondering if i should wait until it is in back in stock, or get another case which is of similar quality and price.
they sound the same as the lekkers
just lube whatever lekkers you have right now and call it done on the KS20s
currently running L60 hand lubed + switch tape mod 3 layers
I'm running hand lubed L60s too, they sound really good most of the time but that chattery noise is annoying
It was the worst in the stock case however
I never really had mine thock in the plastic case
I'd say they do more in the tofu
in the alumaze it was mostly metallic
is the wooting lube qualitative or its meh for its price ? with honesty please
lube and greace kit
it's the same krytox 205g0 everyone is using as for the grease I'm not sure
so its quite like the best one on market
there's not really a best, it depends on whatever switch you use
some lube linears with 3204
Probably this one and I'd also pick up GPL 105 to bag lube switch springs
like the greace and the lube from the kit + the gpl le too?
hand lubing springs one by one with 205 is really annoying
lube too*
ye, 205g0+EM50L and GPL 105 from somewhere else or you can use 205 on the springs but it's really teadious
i mean idc if it takes a while to lube all, i just want the most efficient result
the most efficient one is probably 205g0 everywhere besides the springs and 105 for the springs on the switches
as for the stabs you use 205g0 on the housing and the grease on the wire
yeah
okay
is 10g of 205 and 4.2 of greace enough to lube and greace two keyboard
or enough to one only
10g is alot
hmm holdup
10g is more than enough for 70 switches
3ml or 3g can cover up 200-300 switches
tho I did go quite heavy on the springs with 205 on mine
5ml or 5g can cover up 400-500 switches
alright
so this kit + lube is worthy for someone that doesnt have anything to lube
got everything you need
what can make an even better start?
someone to do it for you
because this shit is tedious asf
I'm not looking forward to ordering those new magnetic jades and handlubing them one by one again
@fluid ravine what config did you end on for your final wooting build?
how long does it takes for a wooting 60he
havent find my final build yet
rn, I'm in a tofu redux with the brass weight an the thin foam, 2 layers of tape, pc plate, lubed l60s
i can give you my current
sure
I'm looking to upgrade to geons/jades and maybe try out the carbon fiber kbdfans plate
as i already have the fr4 one
which I will try on the module
I tried it on this pcb but the plate mount stabs were too tight in it and wouldn't work
GH60 (Tofu V1 clone)
PC plate
Lube Switches (Krytox 205g0)
TX AP Stabs (Krytox on stem and housing, grease on wires)
Switch Tape Mod (3 layers of gentle paper tape)
Tempest mod (2 layer Masking Tape)
Gloirous GBPT Keycaps
Poron Switch Pads
Gummy Mount
No PCB foam
Polyfill
I see
mine progressed more looks wise than anything
the sound is much improved
im looking forward to new keycaps
Switches is a maybe
this is its third iteration
not a big fan of how mines look lol
the plastic case sounded kinda hollow and thucky with the original foam and stuff
the alumaze didn't sound hollow but metallic
the tofu sounds kinda deep af in some spots
I also changed out the stabs
so whats the current mods
I could not get mine to stop ticking after a few days
lubed switches, 2 layers paper tape mod, foam in the bottom, pcb foam and new keycaps ig
I have the kbdfans FR4 plate that's too tight for plate mount stabs, but hopefully works on the pcb mount ones
paper tape mod?
tape mod but with paper tape
1 layer didn't do shit
2 did quite a bit
3 nothing
the thin foam liner from the redux
and ofc the brass weight
it probably doesn't do shit
it only increases weight
lol
it's really thin
the tofu already weighs a lot
the alumaze was 950g fully built
this is 1475g
oh damn
its even more than my tofu65
yeah alumaze is like thinner
also no brass weight
I'm willing to bet it will get even heavier with the FR4/CR plates
right now i'm using the pc plate
the steel is way too loud in an aluminum case
also looking at Jades vs Geons
or might just buy both
for me it was too loud and badseedtech also found the same stuff
wait for @harsh dove review
he compared all 4 of them
jades are coming in this week
sound wise not a huge difference but the steel plate was the loudest
yeah
i'm more interested in the chatter noise going away
from what I heard the geons mostly remove it
i hope the jades fully remove it
I got L45s too with the module for like 17 bucks
cause of housing and stem tightness
possibly housing material as well
the housing materials between the jades and KS20/Lekkers aren't that much different but the switch is sealed off
if the stem and housing or one of them increase by a few mm
it can change the sound of the switch
yeah
my L60s are from the EU-Nevel batch and the tolerances on them are terrible
hoping the L45s are better
geon made the raptors housing more thicker while having the stem more smaller than the lekkers
I hope Badseed tech compares the L60/L45 and Geon/Jades against each other
i see
thats why the stem in the raptor housing is so tight
you havem't considered switch swapping?
yeah if i buy geons and stem swap them, the lekkers with the geon stem will sound extremely bad
- im too broke
- i modded the switches myself so theres no chatter
really no chatter at all with that tape mod?
yeah
thats the point of the switch tape mod
i thought it just reduces it
not fully remove it
the Geons from what i've seen don't even fully get rid of it
in my guide
i said depending on how many layers you do
you can reducce or fully remove the chatter noise
I didn't read up on it as I just passed it because of the time
i hate opening up switches
lol
I’ve tested this and have a video of it in two different cases
i see
"The maximum layer you can do is three, as two is recommended. Be aware that three layers will fully eliminate the chatter noise and will reduce stem wobble by a lot"
Would you say the Geons are higher pitched than the lekkers?
i'd probably do it with the L45 Stem
No they are deeper because of nylon housing
red and green sucks
they're the same
I know
just different color
yeah thats why
I use stock raptors hand lubed currently
I don’t like the stem swap
Too tight
I also plan on selling my old build(alumaze+og60he pcb+pc plate+cherry oem stabs+lubed l60s)
as I don't have a need for 2 60hes
how much you selling it for
the thing I dislike about the Jades is that i can only get them from china
and before import taxes the jades cost 70% more than the geons
Yeah I think I paid like $56 for mine
my L45s with the module were like 15 bucks
thats a huge difference
knowing me, i'll probably buy both the geons and jades
Yeah you can get lekkers for cheap if you get the deals on them
as for hand lubing
That’s what I did
how did u lube them?
and im starting to lack behind the knowledge :D
(please dont tell me u hand lubed the springs 1 by 1)
i do that lol
i didnt mind
I lubed bottom housing , stem rails , top housing with 205g0 and SuperLube oil for springs
superlube oil probably meaning gpl105
I hand lube all my stuff
oh
i see
Gpl105 is fine too
did it actually make a huge difference tho
What most seem to use
like fr
In sound?
Vs Lekker or
