TenZ is the pro player yes
Kaemi is a marshal demon content creator
Kyedae is TenZ's girlfriend
i dont game much now i mainly use keyvboard for coding and typing
I used to play CS and a bit of valorant and COD but stopped playing for a while now
@fluid ravineim guessing you play val then?
Bro im in computer science and im just bored out of my mind
yeah
@lilac islandsameeee here man, but i just started getting back into cs2 and i forgot everything
haha ! im just self taught, what language you learning ?
now just blaming my keyboard whenever i die
ahh yeah CS2 is out now !! might have to try it
dont bring up my past
haha !
@fluid ravineso what switches do you prefer for val?
im doing more data science so i work with python and SQL
oh it doesnt really matter
the only thing that matters at this point is how heavy you want your springs to be
yeah try them out see which one you like best
personally im more on the heavy sided so i keep that 60's
i thought thats what the difference was between the lekker 60 and 45s and the gators
but i prefer it a little bit heavier like 65 then that would be perfect to me
the difference in the spring stiffness
nah just spring weights
or am i wrong
l60's are 60 grams
l45's are 45 grams
what are the springs waiting for
?
^
kinda hoping for some heavier switches in the future as lekker 60 still doesn't seem to cut it for me !
but on same page there is this so idk
lol just messing with you
oh mb i wasnt using my brain to spell
would be good if it was
xD
@fluid ravine so different weights on the spring wouldnt that translate to how light or heavy you have to press to depress the switch?
that means we can buy their springs
yeah yeah
will the springs fit lekker switches though as stem is fatter
@fluid ravineso you swapped out the lekker 65 springs with one thats is 60g?
Yeah, I love gaming on 45's but typing just feels so anemic; I dunno if there's an inbetween but 70's could be it
well if they are ks20 they should fit
what about sound wise? which one has more thoccccc?
its the same as l60
Alumaze will finally be here Friday so I can hopefully have a good weekend after a shitty week
lighter or heavier? i feel like heavier would have more thocc?
yeah 70s would be nice haha or even 80 or am i just savage !
theres no 65 gram springs
i can only imagine how thicc this mans finger tendons are
im using the stock l60's
im just saying if there was a 65 i would love it to perfection
@fluid ravineo i see, im an idiot
are these hall effect switches ?
I wonder who makes them and if any of the parts are compatible with lekkers
gotcha
springs does not translate into keyboard sound profile
i like heavy srpings for typing
Bro, 69 is going to revolutionize the switch industry
or technically the lekkers themselves
Yes
HAHA
so its just a matter of time someone comes out with all sorts of different springsd for the lekker?
ong :<
i did see that wooting sold springs originally, why the hell did they pull it?
interesting, thanks for that info
kinda weird how my akko v3 yellow creams feels a bit heavier than my l60's although they're 50 grams
which switches are these ?
no problemo
can you use ceramic keycaps on the lekkers?
I’m talking about the switches on the drunkdeer a75, I don’t think there’s any way to buy them on their own and I have no idea if they are compatible with wooting
oh dang i see ok
yes but the spacebar maybe a bit too heavy for it to go back up
Maybe I’ll buy it and test it 👀
yeah haha let us know how it is !
im guessing then even the other keys are gonna be slightly heavier? maybe make it feel like a lighter switch?
i dont have experience with cerakeys but im trying to remember what i read but um i think they do make your keys feel a bit lighter when using them
hang on lemme get somebody
@neat path
CERAKEY SERVICE PLEASE
raesha hall effect switches
its what they are called
@teal quiver YOU TOO IF YOU'RE ONLINE
Hi yes what are your ceraquestions
I hope papa Geon comes with the goods with his Raptor switches, noice colours. HE not yet released
Spacebar returns perfectly acceptably on L45s

@stable kindle
yes ceramics makes your switch feels a bit lighter like 5g less for alphas. No problem with L60 or KS20 50g, i use my L60 stock spring on the heavy spacebar and it feels perfect
For the L60 switches I can definitely second that, though I haven't had a 1:1 comparison of cerakeys vs other keycaps on the L45s
Rebecca recommands 60g for the spacebar (even if it works with lighter springs) and they provide Kailh box yellow 80g iirc but it's too heavy for my taste
Ok yeah I highly doubt these “raesha” switches are compatible in any way
I do think the 60g spacebar recommendation has some merit, my spacebar does feel noticeably lighter than other keys. That's to my taste but YMMV; I also have my spacebar actuation set higher than the rest of my keyboard so I've already been after a more responsive spacebar lol.
One quirk I've noticed with the cerakeys, with L60s and L45s (though more pronounced on the latter), is that the spacebar will tend to actuate when the keyboard is set down, if it's not being set down quite gently. Given that my build is heavy af that's hard to do. Doesn't really matter, doesn't affect real use, but just kind of an interesting aside.
The cerakeys actually sound pretty sick !
The guy in the 1hr video on the website uses a 85g spring on his Spacebar
40a might be what im settling on
go for it!
between 30 and 50
so why not
for the little feets that come with the alumaze 60, do they elevate the keyboard higher?
2 sets of feets
2 or 3 different typing angles
alr thanks
Tint60 kit is compatible. Just built it tonight. No modding required but I used the whole kit which came with foam, probably have to source out the foam yourself. https://www.iterkeebs.com/products/tint60-custom-mechanical-keyboard-kit?variant=46552270569751
holy that is mad cheap
@bronze grove
anuda one to zeh list
I love you.
I love you too.
How are you?
I'm doing alright
Currently working on my project atm.
What about you?
What's your project? I'm actually going to start one soon lol, shot a couple of videos tonight and I'm going to try to splice them together
Business or Service Plan
i didnt recieve any instructions 💀 teacher just gave a sheet of paper was like "Here you go"
didnt even give us due date
man idfk
just think of a business or service idea or some shi and make a advertisment of it
¯_(ツ)_/¯
thats what my friends said
keyboard modding
lol
Make an ad for keyboard modding
that'd be cool
haha totally
lemme just grab somebody's wooting and grab all my modding materials and bring it to school and mod the living hell out of it for 12 hours
fax
Anyone know a clean black and red 60% keycap set?
budget?
Not really
Yeah that’s fine
is this fine?
new link
idk im just posting what i see
anyways i gtg now
gn
Gn thank you
Is GMK supposed to be budget?
no lol
i spent over $200 on my gmk lol
I thought tenz was saying it was budget lol
21kb
get GMK for gaming keyboard is bad idea
shine will be ugly
also if you dont mind XDA , try to look on ali express
i mean you could use gmk for gaming but wear gloves while using it lol
cause im pretty sure the shine is from the oil on your fingers
gloves? fuck that lol
lmao
man finally relubed all my switches following the actual lekker video
what a difference
how long did it take you?
it took me 12 hours 💀
it took me a little over 3 hours
how fast were you going?
i just opened them up and added the extra lube to the top of the housing and the bottom housing
i had already hand lubed the other parts like the rail spring etc
o i see
ig it took me 12 hours cause i had to do the foam and build everything
and had no clue what i was doing too lol
ahh i see
At this rate I'm just waiting for my case my gummy oring and my cerakeyd
And I think it's done
GMK doesnt have pbt or it also shines after some use?
yea it doesnt have pbt
i think it shines after some use
I did not know that Thank you
And did you get some shine already?
Niceeee
Yes it's abs but I don't think youll get shine for a while
It takes some serious use, I've been fps gaming on my sa and they only started to shine after 2 years
aye same times lol
yea
Now with Val I feel like half of my keys started shining
tbh though the shine isnt too bad
like if you dont have a flashlight shining onto it
then you wont see it
I have a before and after I lubed the bottom and top of the switch housing
And wow
o yea its huge lol
What really? So it must be better than pbt right? Since abs has better Quality?
well it depends actually
i basically have never used a pbt for a long time
so idk how much better pbt is
but i prefer the abs feeling better than pbt
and it sounds better in my opinion
wait is that gmk too?
No I believe these are enjoybpt
I guess the shine isn’t that noticeable in other colores that isn’t black right
Yea I had bought my set of gmk striker for 99 off of novelkeys
Colours*
But never used them so I sold
yea mines white and i can barely see it
I might buy some from GMK then lol in white
nice
I went for cerakeyd
which one you thinking of?
v1 gmk?
whats that?
o nvm
i read it wrong lol
V1 cerakeys
o
You're good
ye
But they are heavier
but i heard they are pretty heavy right?
I stuck with l60 that came with the keyboard
ah i see
80g springs?
Not mine but the shine looks nice, just gotta use it enough for the shine to be uniform
ig its better for typing ig
yea
can you even get rid of the shine?
no idea
im looking online and it seems you can
turn your ordinary ABS keycaps into ceramic keycaps with this one simple trick
those keycaps were once white or beige and the owner drove a car like the Flintstones
lol
Man was smoking near his keyboard
i mean
unless man just got those keycaps off the 1980s pc
ok wait these are whiter than the ones above
Anyone can help with all of these? xD
That tkl is one of best designs ever imo, check out that concave
I have no idea where to get the burger mount mod materials
everything was better back then
search up 0.1mm oring
for the spring i went and bought the l45 lekkers
cause idk if the other springs will be compatitble with the lekkers
tape mod is just painters tape
where to get that
the wooting website
I don't see it
I thought those were just the switches
These are the o-rings you need for burger
but i think some other people here have different springs
Or you join the gummy oring cult
yea thats probably the best lol
Burger mount is only for people who enjoy suffering
The heck is that
i mean you can burger mount and gummy oring it
sorry I'm new to this but thank you guys so much
It's a huge ass oring that goes around the PCB
It fits between the plate and the PCB
what the hell is pcb
I'm guessing o-rings are small for individual keys and gummy o rings suppose to be big for the whole keyboard?
here
gummy o ring
Yea the oring for the burger mount are for the screw holes
And the gummy oring is a huge one that goes around the whole keyboard itself
i have the tofu60 redux
for the case
its really good
which one is better?
in your guys opinion
gummy
Wooting's Youtube channel has a lot of tutorials if ya wanna mod
gummy most impactful
is it good for osu as well?
Which one should i buy?
I mean you can do both but you don't screw in with the gummy oring if I'm not mistaken
uxcell Silicone O-Rings, 4.5mm OD 1.5mm ID 1.5mm Width
gummy mounting is the second most useful, besides lubing
i mean lighter springs like the lekker l45 can be better for fatigue in streams
but other mods is just for sounds
i have the l45 rn
how many should I get
I want to try l45s but I don't want to relube and tape a whole new batch of switches
and i feel like its better than the l60
Don't say that
you gotta feel my pain
At least 10 pieces
Circular Cross-Section They are circular in shape, round in cross-section. Designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications. Commonly provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly seen in engines, faucets, flanges, valves...
this what i bought for gummy o ring
its amazon for canada so find it for your country
bro's head is gonna explode before he even pulls the keyboard apart
the best kind of amazon
I'm already exploded
is 30 pieces enough?
should I do the whole keyboard with o rings?
except for the space bar

Yea you'll be good with 30 I'd that's the min you can get
No no the orings aren't for the switches
Lube+film+switch tape mod+o ring mod+switch tripods
yea lol
the hell does o rings do
i think theres only like 6 screws
I already forgot
Don't use o-rings for keycaps, the burger mod is for the mounting screws
Bruh I saw the tripod switch pads and I was going to get them but I had just the regular square ones
So I went for those
so what does the O rings for?
search up burger mount for o ring
wooting has a video on it
I think I'm getting mixed up
so gummy mounting doesn't need o rings?
do I need o rings/
orings = burger mount
gummy goes around your pcb
you guys talk about two different mountings
and the burger goes around the screws
so should I buy orings for burger mount or the oring for gummy?
gummy
gummy better from what i heard
Just do these: lube, pc plate and case swap. If ya wanna do more then do o-rings, burger rings, cheetoh rings later
the hell is cheetoh rings

meme
I was hoping you wouldn't notice the Cheetoh's lol. It's a packet of chips
oh, how do I grease the damn stabilizers
sundried cheetoh's
dielectric grease
like how
I have the grease
do I just take apart the stablizers
or
ah ok ok
they have stabilizers in there
i dont think they have a l50
45g is ligher
so better for osu
the l60 comes with stock wooting though
so you can test it out and see if you like that
Hey yall i just wanted to ask, is the pcb supposed to not touch the foam right ?
how many should i get?
u have cerakeys coming, no need to be tempted
well if you want your all keyboard covered with l45 switches
then you can do 70 pack
since keyboard has like 62 keys
but if you only want your z and x keys l45
then you can get 12 pack
wait who is buying this
lmaooooo
hentai is free, you dont need keycaps for it
Loppies made a list of mods and wants anime keycaps
its a good remainder
ye i dont think he should get his dick hard mid match when he is looking down at this keyboard
i think that will give him a competitive disadvantage

its gonna be like highschool dxd
he about to release his true poteintal
pcb mounted with the screws, dont think it matters if it touches it
as long as mounted correctly
Is that what the gummy o-ring is for, to be worn like Borat's swimsuit?
ngl all the anime keycaps are kinda mid
what kind of tape should I use again?
WOB is king
and they cost a lot, well the Asus one I saw was like over 200
painters tape
like the paper one
you can ripe it easily
im pretty sure you will have that tape at home
i had to buy it xD
barely use it at all
put three layers + burger mount today
the tofu redux works quite well for the wooting, finally got it delivered. I will say if you get it, move the stock wooting foam over to it, the super thin "foam" that comes with it leaves a LOT to be desired
agreed
i also put three layers
start with 1
sometimes more is worse
yea I tried it putting it back on
yea half of the top foam though
it felt about the same
oh I just used the whole thing
does the stock foam cover the entire bottom?
o what
in the original case 1 and 4 layers sounded the deepest
no
how did that fit?
just the wooting
im using alumaze
and I didn't get the brass weight, so there is a little room for the foam
ah i see
im waiting for mine
the alumaze comes with its own foam? @cinder merlin
yes
you can test it out if you want to though
good
thinner foam i think
did u use it
honestly I wish more boards had room for it, in my saka68 I used some very thick and heavy car speaker sorbothane called boom mat. Sounds absolutely amazing
nice
xD
what the fuck
ayoo

you ain't from delaware if you ain't had this
i mean wooting posted that themselves
huh?!
oh
bruh i thought he did that lol
who made this
wooting has like a series
yep, Wooting engineers would know what works best
i hope its not Sander
not having frosted mini wheats
unacceptable
pcb removed ofc
kekw
and this is how you lube your spacebar with peanut butter
pretty good for a full kit
compared to higher end keycaps, $53 for 108 shinethrough doubleshots of this quality level is pretty on the mark. They aren't ePBT/GMK/CRP level of "high quality", and the market of shinethrough keycaps has been pretty saturated this last year
lol
wait do yall keep your brightness 100%?
cause i swear i can see the keyboard more than my monitor if i do that
I don't use rgb much these days but I used to run it around 60% with stock caps
I got this board knowing I was going to put non shinethrough caps on it and would be using it for games
Personally I don't like rgb in the first place so the first thing I did was enable tachyon and disable all lights
changes polling from 500hz to 1000hz
for 99% of people (me included), no
it's just for the reliability of knowing it's working as fast as it can
inputs go through as fast as they can, even if you can't feel the difference
oh
i feel like it will kill the keyboard faster in the long run though
since it has to use more energy
it doesn't use more power, because when it's on you can't use rgb effects (only static lights) and max brightness is limited
yea but compare it to static lights no tachyon
and technically with no moving parts that actually make contact with each other, this board should be able to last forever, save for maybe replacing the switches one day if the springs wear down or the housings get worn out
ah yea your right
for me the only "downsides" to having it on are disabling things I wanted disabled in the first place, so it's an easy pick. But realistically, no human is going to truly feel the difference and if anyone says they can that isn't a professional gamer (talking top 1% of pros), they're probably full of shit
yea even pros though
no way you can feel a 1ms difference
especially when human reactions are like 150ms
v true, just leaving room for error in my statement in case there is some freak of nature out there who can 😆
I think having any sort of ms difference helps
Once we react technically something with a faster response time should help
yea
Its super small but all these micro differences should add up
Without the copiem orc
Reaction Time Test: The simple, accurate online reaction time tester.
yall wanna try this too?
wtf
Hello, I've got a question, I've recently bought GATERON KS-20 switches but I hate the orange top housing, Is it possible to swap the housing with the Lekker 60?
Im kinda new to this keyboard modding stuff, I dont really know who to ask about this
i think its possible
they look really similar
It's also the case of frame update time vs input time. at 144hz, you have 6.9ms between each frame. So if your input comes in 1ms later, you COULD end up with another ~7ms before you see the input happen because it has to wait for the next frame.
And our subconscious reaction isn't always the same as visual reaction time:
Tests with Air force pilots have shown, that they could identify the plane on a flashed picture that was flashed only for 1/220th of a second. That is identifying. So it's pretty safe to say, that recognizing, that SOME light was there is possible with 1/300th of a second.
Any idea would it affect the performance?
i dont think the housing would affect performance
only the spring
Alright, thank you so much @surreal linden I really appreciate it.
np
\
wait im actually kinda insane
To my knowledge all of the MX style magnetic and non-magnetic gaterons (lekkers are made by them too) use the same dimensions for top housing
it'll likely affect sound if anything, but not feel or performance
yea they look indentical
Alright, I'll try swapping out the top housing, hopefully it wouldnt sound bad. Thank you
also i heard that other switches might cause some input delays
like their magnetics or something
if they have the magnets at a different height or size than the lekkers, the keyboard may read them differently
but this can likely be compensated for by adjusting the actuation
yea i think they do
so there might be a performance issue from just that
tbh i think its 0.1mm difference
gateron makes the KS-20 and the Lekker so they're likely identical within tolerance in terms of placement/size on the magnet
ah i see
then you should be fine then
The reason why I bought it is because it comes in prelubed and the spring is to my liking.
Thank you 2
I dont really know the details of it but it feels a little lighter compared to Lekker 60
but not as light as lekker 45
Yeah
nice
KS20 bottoms out at 50g force, so your feeling is correct
This is just based on my feeling though, I dont know much about it
dang some really sensitive hands
they keycaps also play a huge role in actuation point
so the weight of it
Hoping soon we can see some more custom springs getting made for hall effect switches, it'll take a bit since they're wider than standard mech switch springs, plus they need to be non-magnetic
yea
i mean are spring typically magnetic?
i think most manufacturer made it so it isnt
otherwise thats just random additional manufactuering cost
Yeah, Im hesitant of getting more Lekker 45 switches because I plan to change my keycaps to metal keycaps ( in hopes of better sounding )
ah i see
im using the l45 rn
Do you like it so far? in terms of the spring
yea its really good
especially for speed based games
like osu
less finger fatigue lol
and i feel faster too
yeah most mx-style switch springs are magnetic
ah i see
probably cause its easier to put together
valid point
that corrupted one
post results if you do. when I find time to lube switches I've gotta do some stuff with the stabs as well
too used to clipped/lubed cherry stabs. the 60he's are quite great for a stock stab but not where I want them
Looks like a mesh of hell and heaven themed
What is the best keyboard for Fortnite? And why? Price?where I can shop it?
there's "no best keyboard" for a game ... maybe for rythm games, hall effect keyboards are better.
Generally speaking hall effect keyboards are more reactive, meaning, they have quicker key presses and you can customize them to your liking and needs.
But with these, a normal mechanical switch, silver, can also give you great results for gaming.
Pre-travel needs to be short and the total travel should not be too long, so that your key-presses are as quick as possible.
But ... for that to happen, you also need to be quick and clean on your movements of course.
The keyboard will not make you a better player ... but if you already a good player, maybe hall effect gives you possibilities to play in a certain way that a normal switch can't.
Morning Boys and Girls how are we today !
same old same old my friend ... work day ... luckly my work is at a computer and its raining cats and dogs outside 😄
that right ! we are the lucky few xD
that looks nice man ! any chance of a sound test 🙂 ?
link keycaps plz
i see, they look like ceramic keycaps ?
nice looks pretty sick im on the market for a set of white keycaps at the moment, what profile is it ?
i was looking at MT3 and SA profiles so probs not up my ally but the looks are nice
Doing great man hbu
I want to find out these certain type of key caps but I just can’t seem to find them
They are like squarish where the top is but smooth and round on the edges
#🔧│keyboard_modding message whatever key caps i saw here was the type I’ve been looking for
Yeah wonder why he deleted all messages
Also VDA v2 is a thing I believe
my man josh just skipped DCS smh
maybe ill find it through my search history
I have it on my history on my pc I'll link it when I get back 👍
tysm
this is it
im new to this keyboard modding stuff so i dont know anything other than lubing switches makes them sound good
idk what those keycap types are called
Anyone know about the keyswitch tape mod? I heard it can reduce wobble in the keys, but I'm having a hard time finding resources on how to do it.
sorry i just woke up so i explained it poorly, i meant that style of keycaps, not the brand since thats on the iamge
my bad
i think i found the style, it might be science keycaps
My wooting went from thocky to creamy now 😭😭😭😭
what mods did you do? just lube or what
if thats just lube im ordering lube right now
Definitely not just lube lol
it would have been too easy lol
@untold wigeon
okay the style is called SA tysm
wish i could cancel my old keycap order
SA profile are the really tall keycaps
Bigsly333 linked the profiles here
life saver
didnt even realize ty for the help though
prob will go for XDA
i think the smooth curves look amazing
but dont feel amazing
ah fr?
lol yeah
adapting takes time i guess
wdym dont feel amazing
Cause your finger doesn’t sit in the key rather sits on top of the key, idk how to explain it
lol
ive used whatever keys are on the vulcan pro tkl
i didnt like them because they felt smooth and slippery if that makes sense?
just got my keycaps
niceeee, ive always loved just a classic black style
im trying to go all black
just need a different desk and keyboard cable now
thats what i did for all my other keyboard but im trying something new with wootin
i see
i like unique looking stuff but with my main items i wanna keep it classic black
intrigued into buying the ultra light x whenever its in stock too
novemer 27 is the 2nd batch
i want one too but damn their discord is conflicting me
no money for that yet D:
i feel that, better than the tenz pricing though
might need to sell some old things if i rlly want it that badly but its restocking forever so i can just wait a little
This is such a tempting mouse to pick up, but idk about at $190. Plus it would take a minute to get used to a full-size mouse again.
Day #31 of asking if the module is out
Why ask so many days instead of just waiting for announcement
Yeah there is zero chance that a post in #📣│announcements won't be made when module is out
Yeah sorry about the deleting. It's a profile called G20. And the keycap set is G20 Glacier.
case?
regular gh60 alu case ig
Should i buy the tx ap stabs from divinikey or keebsforall?
Keebsforall shipping is more expensive cuz of shipping but has anyone used any of these websites?
a lot of hype around the tx ap stabs here i would pressume they are good but yet to try them myself
I just bought polyfill and new WQ polycarb switch films so we shall see how this goes… figured since I have to take the switches apart again I will throw more lube on them. These switches are thirsty as hell
haha yeah ive lubed mine a few times now too ! lets us know how it all goes
Not sure how the polyfill will work for the alumaze but I figured for 5 USD I’ll figure it out
will do!
Tx's are good but I'd just try to tune the stock stabs, they're actually very good. Anyone experience ticking or rattling can try this simple mod:
Keyboard specs and links below.
Designer: Wooting
Keyboard: 60HE
Plate: steel full
Keycaps: MW Lilith R2 Katakana
Switches: Gateron Lekker L45
Lube: Krytox 205g0
Springs: 45g
Switch Films: n/a
Stabilizers: Plate-mount TX stabilizers, lubed with 205g0
Case: Mekanisk FJELL
Mods: o-ring for burger dampening on screws, 2 layers Mekanisk 60% foam
...
And also check how straight the stab wires are before doing any lubing, or the mod above
true that! my spacebar stab sounds amazing but return key and right shift ticking like a boss! need to spend more time one them !
cutout tolerance will vary from plate to plate, I had to tweak my spacebar and backspace, but yeah it's a handy mod
Thank you!
where do i put the foam that comes with the wooting
its quite thick and has 2 holes in
Post an image of it
if you are putting this in to a new case like the redux you need to remove the half piece
already have, it goes below the pcb right
between the pcb and the case
mhm, thanks, currently only using the thin bit of foam that comes with the redux
yeah i dont think you can have them both in at the same time or it will push against the pcb
its one or the other
yeah im swappng it out
yeah give it a go i like the sound of the stock foam vs the redux foam
its considerably thicker too
yeah, depends on how you like it to feel and sound tbh
Tofu redux foam is 👎
I've got a few sets of the new AP stabs and they seem pretty solid but have only used one set out of the 3 so I can't provide full feedback yet. I might try another set when the module arrives.
at this point i just cant wait for my oring to arrive, now i gotta pick out a case.
i want to buy black coiled cable for my wooting 60he but the wooting one is too expesive for me, are there any good cheaper alternatives?
the module will be pcb mount as oppose to plate mount right ?
Both, but comes with PCB installed.
oh sick !
Welcome back Tirade. Hope you had a great time on vacay
Anyone know of any switches with compatible top housings for the lekker switches? I want to make a bit of a frankenswitch with a nylon top since I can't stand how the PC top housing sounds.
The top housing looks to be a little bit different from your standard mechanical gateron switch.
Just got back home. Little jet lagged but trying to catch up!
After 5 hours i have finally reached an acceptable sound from the wooting 60 he in a tofu keyboard. What a pain. There was that pingy sound , and couldn't find the reason why. Was the cherry keycaps hitting the switch housing. Lost a little bit of lighting rotating the switches but the sound after it's much better. Waiting for mlv for dampening and should be complete.
mods?
@untold wigeon were close to each other boy
Take your time big guy ❤️
Hope you had a good time
but ur more poppy than me
rip ive put xht bdz on my spacebar and its not thock anymore lol
its more high pitched wtf
oh mines really thocky with XHT
mmmh
try adding tape under the space bar
maybe its my foam insinde the spacebar
idk
i have foam
poron 1mm
wierd
but i rly like xht bdz, literally has killed all the rattle i got
its a very solid spacebar now
maybe the stabs housing are loose on the plate ?
yeah mine still rattle a bit but not the spacebar my return key mainly
nah it doesnt move
the screw next to spacebar maybe thats too tight
or better yet i dont think you even need that screw
oh lol
that looks solid to me mine has a bit of movement, maybe cos ive taken them off so many times now xD
maybe because its my only switch with 3 layers of switches tape ? others has 2
but it should be even more thockier
What y’all talking abt
my spacebar
ahh, i dont even have switch tape one my keys, does it make much difference ?
What about it
Big
any switch tape mod videos ?
i ned to give it a go
@shell geode
yeah look at this
Sorry I’m on my moms phone
I don’t got mobile data so
Yeah it's on my post in Wootstations
nah not to my knowledge
OK I will find it
ok thanks, if its makes such a diff i gotta give it a try !!
is it a lot of effort haha !! ?
@quiet bay did a vid of it
well once u do 2 or 3 switches u got the trick just gotta reproduce it to all switches
dang what was it called ill try find it
ok, how is it done ?
link above has a vid for it
thanks !
lubed switch with tape mod
switch pad
tape mode (3 layers)
band aid and holee mod
what tape is used just normal painters tape i cant tell from the vid ?
gentle paper tape
aaaah only diff with my is switch pads
ahh i see will painters tape be too thick ?
i think tenz used this too
ive noticed all you guys that have done the switch tape mod have all same sound im the only exeption and the only mod im missing is switch pad
did u noticed big changes using switches pads?
i havent tried
well i will receive them by the end of the week so
i hope it will make me a more solid sound
ill try 1 layer with painters tape see if it works
oh sorry i forgot two things
pc plate and stock case
yeah we barely have same mods exept i dont get the switches pad yet
what switch pads did u use?
0.5 mm poron
i got them from kbdfans in like 2020 but i still think they have them
well what i realized for me was that it reduced any ping that these lekker switches had
which is really nice
ah icic
Yes and it doesn't really "absorb" the sound it makes when having contact. But it still kinda does the job
Not bad
Better than stock
I tried it. It was my first time doing switch tape mod when i used masking tape
just got my FR4 plate ... i will test it and tell you how it goes... i know everyone said it would give me problems ... but i after contacting KBDFans they told me i would not ... so lets see 😄
ok so i just cut my extra spacebar foam to put it under my stabs on the pcb
working greqt
great
really dampen the sound
Anyone with the original tofu case use o-rings? If so, can you tell me what size I can use?
go and grab it !!!
i was easy going with the quantity ... 😄 maybe they have 10 more jars 😄 mine were already shipped 😄
yes... its cool ... G-Lube is more or less the same, but as some others said, i guess g-lube is some rebranding of krytox ...
Cause its that China lube
Damn Mansen...
I didn't know you like that..
Looking mad fine today 🤭
g lube viscosity comparing to krytox is thinner
yeah, a little bit yes
im pretty sure if you put them side by side you could barely tell the difference but for some you could really tell
lol
😂
lol
i was gonna get g lube back then but i was like nah
if krytox is better than just get the better one ig
lol
the issue with krytox is availability ... i got a bunch of jars now
but for 3 or 4 months
i was having a hard time
finding stock
that's why i got the g-lube 😄
huh!?
at least, in europe, there was a time
the stock was really low
but i mean, if you can get glube easily, you will be fine with it
right now back to using krytox 😄
yeah..
bro i kinda wanna just start over my whole modding process
of my wooting
just take every single mod out
and start over
maybe
just a little
i feel like if i star it all over again
do it more precise, plan things
it could come out so much better and how I would like it to be
my wooting has REALLY gone through alot
i wish i was like my friend that bought me the wooting
he bought two for himself thinking that if he ever started modding it and broke something he would have the spare one
but he ended up not using the second one it at all nor has he tried to mod it
yeah... i mean, with what i learned on this one
i will get the module
since i have a spare case here
but just to tryout
actually, yesterday i was in doubt with the new keyboard that was released with hall effect
but, i decided to keep my initial idea
of getting the module
and do it slowly and wisely
ehehhe
then i will give this one to my kid
since he is a FPS lover 😄
I can see this being a good thing, time consuming but most likely worth it
I will probably feel this way at some point too but I’ve yet to finish modding my keyboard lol
i have the alumaze coming
I feel like too many people have a tofu redux so I don’t want one XD
yeah, i got a acrylic one because wanted to try out the acrylic
i still think acrylic > alum
😄
I’ve yet to hear what acrylic case sounds like I think
I heard a bamboo case recently
don't like the wood sound
lol yeah
but again, very personal
Oh okay
i think it will be a little more deep
Definitely let me know once you build it
due to the sound resonance that alum is known for...
Yeah
but i can be wrong 😄
Does it feel premium still being acrylic?
Or do you think Alum feels more premium still?
and right now, i didn't have the patience to do it 😄
lol I feel that
Alum feels heavier of course
Right
only from that, you have that "premium" feel
Simply cause there’s weight to it, yeah
in terms of looks, 100% alum
Yeah I feel like most would feel that way too
I mean … yeah … 😂
I think that looks clean still
The alum instantly feels more premium
Lmao
2 1200x900 and the other is a "normal" 500x500
it has a reason
because i was lazy
i had 1 ... then i bought a 2nd big one ... didn't want to take the one below so i just put it on top of the existing one
and ... some months ago i got the saturn pro
lol 😄
How does that feel lmao
Bros got like a mousepad pillow
