People do use switch pads. However, the hall effect switches depend on the magnet being at a certain distance from the censor. (I believe the movement of the magnetic induces an electric flux or something, but I don't remember from physics.) By using a switch pad, you are placing something between those two components and extending the distance. My guess is it would decrease the accuracy of the switches at low actuation points/overall, but would still be completely usable if you don't care

Just installed my pc plate

I used 4 screws to secure it, buger mount m2x5 etc. Overal my board is a bit more muted and deeper. My stabs did get stuck in north facing, south facing fixed it. Overal it is a nice plate. I'm guessing the silicone does the heavy lifting for the sound.

Do keep in mind that I have PE foam underneath the silicone and got 3 layers of tape mod

You don't want to have the giant touch the PCB. It needs a gap to breathe.

That was the biggest thing for me that made me not like it. But I also had my case pretty stuffed full, so it wasn't allowing the PC plate to flex at all.

Well the poly keycaps do make a more plasticy sound by themselves. To me it sounds the same as the steel plate but a bit lower frequency and quieter

but

if you install is your wooting aint even gonna work properly

The flex cuts are the problem. Whoever made the plates for wooting in kbdfans did not do their homework.
The problem with the FR4 plate is it has flex cuts, if the plate flexs then the switches will go down flexing with it which means the sensor will activate even though we didnt press it. Plus FR4 itself already can flex so thats even worst for the wooting.

Same thing for Carbon Fiber

The POM however im not sure, it needs to be at a certain thickness

They can dampen the sound of the switch or can make it sound cleaner in a way

those 2 mods have their own effects

.5mm works fine

but .25mm is better if you dont wanna take risk

I just noticed the L45 ( lekker 45s) are lighter than mx speed silver switchesss damnnn thats nice

I tried the ones i lubed last week now for the first time

Im guessing lighter = better for gaming overall

They sound the same as the L60s tho really nice
