Tape mod can make it feel sightly more mushy. I had the same issue in the past, did the tape mod. didn't like it and took it off. The tik continued to stay but it was minor so it didn't bother me all that much. You can even consider new stabs maybe swap the stabs from like the right shift key, a key you won't use as much or something. It may also fix the issue

Another thing it could be is the plate is uneven but that is probably unlikely due to wooting having such a thick plate.

closest i have seen are TX films or wuque studio but they bow around those rails and i had to use 2x as many films as i should have since i broke half of them

I just found a fix i guess. applying little more lube than usual on the stem and it fixes the rattle sound. I go hard with the lube but its not overlubed. If its overlubed I would just remove some of the rails on the bottom housing

tofu redux wouldnt ship with a plate. You'd insert the PCB and plate from the full model 60HE itself IIRC. the Gateron orange switches are compatible with the 60HE PCB, but you'd still need to source your own from a full 60HE

They didnt just copy the homework, they modified the answers to the point of being wrong. For their plates they added flex cuts in most of them and and those flex cuts are bad for the 60HE.

Flex cuts are risky and putting them next to the standoff spots is just counterintuitive. Wooting designed the 60HE with not only a steel plate but ALSO standoffs. That makes it pretty obvious that flex is bad when dealing with switches that acutaute based on magnet distances.

To use a PC plate took Wooting a lot of testing and design review. To think KBDfans released 3 plates in different materials and added flex cuts, tells me all that I need to know about their lack of testing.

I think the stem pulls the tape up from the bottom, causing it to jam, would be my guess.

i let a piece of tape coming off the stem opening then cut it short, helps avoiding the tape to retract or move on the rail

They had their own unique design with another switch maker but when that fell through after some revsiiions they just went with gaterons existing HE switch

medical also have a porous soft material so it wouldnt even scratch

You guys will have your PC plates before me. Better give us some good sound tests before and after. I expect PC plate will be a solid change but based on other mods could be a good change or bad change. I'm excited about starting fresh/stock and comparing the plates and then modding one step at a time.

Too many factors to say. I usually choose dampening material based on the case rather than the plate.

I don't currently have an aluminum case and PC plate combo that I can test with so I don't have a suggestion for you but typically dampening density and thickness make the most difference compared to foam type. Personally I use polyfill or a thin open cell foam in my aluminum cases.

there is not much lube on the stems from the factory, I would honestly wipe it off with tissue and then lube them on your own. makes no sense to put them in an ultrasonic
