yea i was watching a bunch of tutorials before jumping on this endeavour
simple youtube search, simple fix
and people were just grabbing at the sides and not top and bottom
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING 😭
Forgot my switch pulled so i used my tweezers 😊😊😊
WOAH WOAH WOAH 1MM?
maybe it works
I mean it would work, just not well (there will be accuracy issues)
bro wtf is this
That's actually one of the better switch pullers. If you want to save some $ this is the one I personally prefer Wuque Titanium Switch Puller for Mechanical Keyboard Switches Prism https://a.co/d/e8Xh1cx
Titanium alloy Full Titanium alloy construction makes the opener very light yet extremely durable. Thin yet durable legs Titanium alloy makes the thin legs resistant to bending and deforming. Can slip between the case and the neighboring switch without scraping the case. Short claws The claws are...
And the Gateron switch opener is actually really nice compared to the box openers. The question is how many times are you planning to pull and open switches. If it's just a few times, save some money.
think its just gonna be a 3-4 times, will do a couple of friends ones if mine turns out fine
The wuque titanium switch puller def is better but the gateron one is just chunky
and awkward
I actually think on the last wooting twitch live stream they were testing switch pullers and the best one was the Gateron one.
Personally I just like the traditional pullers like the wuque one
imo not worth 35 dollars
I have the gateron one it’s much faster but do u want to pay more for it is another question
I've only ever used the traditional ones so I can't personally compare
20 dollars would be good for it
Yeah if I did it all over again I'd try the Gateron one. I don't pull switches as often as I used to.
Yeah it’s overpriced for sure
Gateron puller look weird af but works well
IF it was 20 dollars I might use it, but the wuque titanium switch puller looks much nicer
that's what im saying, it looks so weird
Because u actually just push it down and pull it out, the puller holds the switch in place for u
But when u release it, it flys out fast and with great force 💀
Yeah it definitely seems faster and time is money. I don't care what it looks like if it works well
If you mod keyboards as a job then yeah Ig invest in the gateron puller
I've been happy with the wuque one though
otherwise if you're only gonna pull out switches a little just buy a normal one
now you make me want to get one
because it looks so nice
It looks like it has the perfect size to just go in between the keycaps
Haha well save the $18 unless you just really want or need a new one
It does work well
If my wooting switch puller ever breaks then I'll get one 👍
Dont think switch pullers really breaks
maybe wear out
I've bent a few for sure
is the gateron switch puller flimsy
on the part where it pulls the switch out
No but when it breaks it’s unusable
Sucks, I'll just get a wuque one then
I haven't bent or broken the wuque one... yet...
It’s different from a regular switch puller where u have to squeeze it
The wuque puller looks like it's in the perfect position to just get in between the keycaps when you go down like the gateron one so you just have to squeeze when it's all the way down
dang im jsut basic and bought wooting kit RIP
im basic too
Im going to be honest I'm just judging them off their appearance
Gateron one works like u are stamping sth if that makes sense
normal
because you have to squeeze at a specific force so you can get it in between the keycaps
wuque could probably work the same way if you're fast with it 👀
Yeah but Gateron is just really simplified
If only it wasn't overpriced
Simplified but overpriced, could be more popular but normal ones just get the job done people like just getting the job done
Yeah, i got it because im lazy
I cant be bothered to make sure im not missing the tab on the switch 💀
Just to tease @quiet bay before I go to bed
Tirade I thought you were a good man not evil man
Someone lied to you
Of course you can, it's very safe with a little love and tender care. Lightningkeyboards had a great stream this morning for the Wooting. There's a few tips and tricks worth noting
lightningkeyboards went live on Twitch. Catch up on their Makers & Crafting VOD now.
Oh wait, I read that wrong. I can't comment on O-ring mount with this keyboard as I've never done it. I'm pretty sure someone has but could be a very tight fit depending on keyboard case
I was thinking about the burger o-ring mount
Ok
Uhh so I've found 5 degrees in Prokeys.store and looked up here as well. @oblique ledge I saw you order did come through? but how was the experience? @stray tiger do you think prokeys is still reliable? don't wanna be scammed. 😅
Multiple people had good experience from them (including me).
thank you thank you!
I'll order the cyan 5 degrees from them.
who the exprt on the switch tape mod here
Whats wrong with your m
oh thats fun
before the E was broke
ok wtf is happening
ok now my m works
googled it this happens a lot with wooting apparantly
yeah u just need to plug replug
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Slightly more flex but feels the same
i dont really like the lekker plasticy sound
unfortunate really
yeah but im done w my wooting
might revisit it later
but im working on my paragon now and the neo once it arrives in dec
Switches are to blame aswell…
they are made from the same materials as most mechanical switches
True, but they still don’t sound good. have a lot of stem wobble/some have housing wobble.
im pretty sure its particially the switches fault as well
we'll seew hen people release pc plate sounds
Switch tape mod, didn't see that in a long time
It’s your cable probably
Coiled long cable causes power issues
taro is cool set
especially for pbt
👍
for those that have done the bandaid mod. What type of bandaid did you use(what material is ideal)?
Stab bandaid mod right?
correct
lol, im talking about what type of band aid, like the material. there are so many diffrent kinds of band aids
i dont really care about the color
Foam adhesive
I used foam adhesive myself on allmy keebs
I was thinking about just using duratape but i thought it might be too thin
do you wrap your stabilizer bar when doing the holee mod?
you mean the wire?

i just do what he did
exept the clipping part i dont do
For clipping you need to know what to do trust me
- you will need to buy new stabs if you make a mistake
if you do the bandaid mod i feel its not necessary
since it would just hit the bandaid
It does help sometimes
Don't clip anything on the stock stabs.
^^^
I wonder if there’s any update on the module
Not yet
so my 60he is still stock i got the tofu redux and L45 switches, I am wondering what other mods I should do to it, my pref is more of a thocc sound
just turned my wooting leeker into a Clicky feel.
It's got this satisfying and crisp feedback sound
used "elastic piece" from a GATERON KS-22 Blue switch (not really sure what it's officially named)
sound kicks in around a 2.3mm key travel. feedback pretty interesting,
maybe could tweak or DIY this little part to adjust the switch triggering height?
~

I think the mold Gateron uses for the Wooting Leeker is pretty similar to the KS-22
although they work totally differently.
But the cool thing is, they can both 100% fit this sound-making component.
The KS-22 is kinda hard to come by (I guess it's because it doesn't sell well and the feel soooooooo bad), but this "elastic piece" is just the ticket!
That’s all I did to it and I’m very happy. Used stock 60HE foam and it feels and sounds great
Eventually do the PC plate, maybe. Haven’t even hand lubed them yet. Pretty happy.

Very high time value with just case and switch swap
Sure , It's so small, trying to take some pictures
Yep
Only sound or feel too?
sounds quite nice actually
The feel is really fun, gives a solid confirmation click.
is it magnetic
It's sadly magnetic yes

Alu is magnetic too
I gave it a test run, and it doesn't seem to make much difference. It's all good!
I reckon it's got to do with the operational height of this little gizmo. It doesn't seem to mess with the magnetic flux much.
LT = regular Leeker
RT = modded Leeker with "elastic piece" (It's made of iron)
I don't really see any major differences between the two
the main issue is the force curve change
and that in relation to the distance traveled
usually clicky means theres an increase in force leading up to the click
and then a slight jump when it clicks
this was also an issue on our old flaretech (optical) analog switches which had clicky
they werent as good for analog usage as the linears
nor did the click ever correlate to actual actuation points
In addition to what Tony just stated, the metal clips are indeed responsive to the magnets and you will very likely get inconsistent actuations and erroneous inputs at times
Yep, I totally agree
but By tweaking this little piece, we might be able to get that confirmation feel to trigger at different heights.
Maybe even as little as 0.5mm? That could be something fun to try
i mean our current and future automatic calibration might actually make that unnoticable (the magnetic interaction)
I was thinking along the lines of the movement of that piece (vibration lets say) after the click. Especially a hard click
hmmm
They dont call me small brain for nothing
hello, do someone know if we'll need to buy stabs for the module, and if the dampeners fit in a tofu 60 redux case ?
the module comes with screw ins preinstalled
so unless you want plate mounted ones you dont need to buy any
unsure what dampener you mean
I'm planning to try and find some 0Cr16Ni14 material soon (it's virtually non-magnetic, which should be good enough for the lekker's precision).
I've heard we've been using this material to make 3rd replacement springs for the lekker around here.
I'm thinking about laser cutting it, then smoothing it , and..... more try?
I read that the module comes with 2 types of damperners
correct
Hi all, I just got my tofu redux which im going to be installing my wooting in. Does anyone know what those little foam half circles are supposed to be used for? Is it the 4x supports on the inside of the case? I was initially thinking their version of burger mounting for some separation but theres no holes in them
Also wondering
Hmmmm. Smart man with the small brain. Appreciate it.
I suppose i have to buy a cable for the module. Is there any other cable than the wooting cable and if not do i have to buy the entire cable set ?
Hi Tirade! I finally got to order a 5 degrees (gray) apparently the cyan was sold out. now just to wait for the module then someday maybe a fjell
Not true
also what does HE mean?
Hall Effect
ohh okay
wdym
isn't there a feature that won't work with a normal cable ?
i saw people talk about that earlier
I think Mansen was able to mention the module comes with a type-c
Yeah I thought the same but Wooting staff said it comes with cable
Can’t find it rn tho
i see
that would be cool
Module comes with cable. Its in the https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399
What's included with the 60HE Module? - 60HE Module will include the PCB, PC plate, 2 dampening materials (silicone pad and poron foam so you can experiment with both), screw-in stabilizers, small silicone sticker sheet (to stick on the backside of the PCB at the screw holes), and USB A to C cable.
i didn't know about this modding faq, that's helpful ty!
Its pretty new, only been up about 6 months
dw, it happened to me while I was bombarding Tirade with Questions that I can find in #🪛│modding_faq. 😅
is it ok to put smthg in between the pcb and the plate with this switches technologie tho ?
it wasn't Mansen! 😮
ok i just read the faq and it answer everything lol
ty everyone

There is hope for the future after all
just waiting for Module to become available
Black Tofu Redux/Klippe T
carbon fibre plate
Your wait will soon be over!
That will be a super clacky build. Grats!
how'd you know?
A little ducky told me
leeeks

Real
Tomorrow?
does previous wooting 60 he owner has early chacne to buy?
I can't think of a reason why that would be, so i think they don't
Maybe we will have TKL Module in the future?
Everyone has the same chance to buy but being a 60HE owner can get you discounts.
a TKL choice would be great!
would it still be advisable to use the tape mod even with foam in the back of the case, i will be using the tofu 60 redux case
What problem are you looking to solve?
i dont ahve any problems just want to see if i can make it sound more thocc and deeper
Tempest / Tape mod will not help give you a deeper sound
Are the L60 and L45 different in sound?
what would the tape mode do for me ?
Nothing in most cases or make it poppier sounding in some cases. Check the https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399
thanks 🙂
the burger mount might be a thing i want to do as ill be using a alu case, where would you guys get your O rings from for this, im based in the uk
Eating dumplings :>
Amazon or aliexpress
They have orings
uM AcCoRdInG tO mY cAlCuLaTiOn
If you have a small brain
All the brain cells that gives you knowledge is compressed into one department
If you have big brain
Your brain is just empty
Like a little bit but not really. I think my difference is cuz my l60s were from last year but the l45’s were current and new/better factory lube job
Pretty sure only difference is color of stem and spring. Materials and dimension of switch are the same I believe.
Yeah i need to get stuff to burger mount
NEED
whats the best color for White Keycaps from Wooting 60HE
the colour you like
well
i do wanna have second opinions
i think i like the purple one or the dark blue one but idk, there are no pictures with white keycaps
i will prob end up buying 5 colors and sending 4 back
lmao
They will all look good with white keycaps, I ordered the green one and im also planning to use a white set
rip return shipping cost
the green very sexy too
Do i want any of those options? Anything real "Game changing"
White will go great with everything
yea, I was choosing between the dark blue and the green, they all look good imo.
i got the brass weight and the orange switches
Are the switches much better then the Stock Wooting ones?
Those switches are going to make all your LED's orange
They arent any better
different opinions here
but it is significantly lighter as well
Well to be honest, if you like the color orange then they are MUCH BETTER
spring weight
i like rgb, orange is cool, but will it actually change all leds to orange?
are they not the same as the Lekker L45 switches sold on the wooting website?
would these go better
with white
or black
case
All the switches are the same with the exception of the spring weight. Some are lighter and some are heavier
They would go the same with either
no i mean the ones from kdb fans oranges ones looks differant to the ones on wootings website
bet
Yes, they are orange colored
but the ones on lekker website hav e white bottome housing
whereas the kdb fans ones have orange
Yes, the colors are different
oh dang i got the ones from kdbfans so ill have orange rgb ?
@stray tiger
any of those really god?
balls! im going to use the housing from the stock ones then
No one knows but I would avoid the Carbon Fiber and FR4 ones for sure due to the flex cuts they added
ill take each switch apart re lube and use only the housing from the stock switches
alternatively i will just take the prings out of the orange ones and put them in the stock ones i have
dang ! i guess i didnt look properly before i bought them 😦
the brass weight bar improves sound doesnt it?
It just adds weight
Because you want a heavier keyboard
isnt the aluminium case alr heavy enough
I think so yes, but to each thier own. Guess it depends on how aggressive of a typist you are 🙂
I am a professional valorant player. i feel like in some situations i do type very aggressively
Oh nice. Who are your pro sponsors?
i havent got the contract for my new org
but im in T2 active
we gonna play Beacons Ladders (10k pricepool) i think
we have a good chance of winning
Well good luck! You got this
ty
Wooting 60HE will make me a god
i alr see it
@molten yacht i think im ordering the dark blue
not that of a green fan
yea ofcourse, I am a big green fan so that's why, but the dark blue also looks so good
and if you pair it with a white set, it would look super clean
im thinking about buying the GMK Minimals
Im from belgium so I would also need the ISO, but currently using ANSI and the keycap market is so much bigger so im going for the ANSI Module when i releases
There is SO MUCH good iso keycaps
yea, didn't say there are none, but im currently using ANSI so im more used to it and the keycaps im looking at are also ANSI
i got one from Aliexpress, paid 15-20 and it looks good and does it job so
how soon. ive just ordered the white keycaps
ansi suck and iso good
ty tony
I'm from germany too, yet idgaf if it's ANSI or ISO, they have minor differences imo
I hate the big enter key
iso is the way to go
https://kbdfans.com/products/gateron-magnetic-orange-linear-switch
we were talking about these earlier, i dont think they are the same as the L45 switches ??
GATERON patent apply for magnetic induction technology in mechanical keyboard switch. This application of the magnetic switch not only improves the typing feelof the mechanical switch again, but also make the free setting travel in conduction technology outstanding.Applying for the electromagnetic principle, operated b
they arent
@austere creek do you have any ETA on ISO take control keycaps
nope i know we thought about it as the ansi sells well
whast the diff ? i bought them thinking they were the same as the ones sold on wooting website l45
5cn more end force and different bottom housing/stem geometry
well ig i have to buy them seperately then if they launch sometime
So do i, but what's the issue? I still don't get it
will they be lighter then the srock 60he switches ?
by 10cN yes
the l45 is 5cN lighter than those
@austere creek Got a new idea btw
.-.
how about custom RGB settings you can save in your Wootility?
or as an external save file
ok im waiting for the new idea then
HAHAHAHA

i mean custom color profiles has been suggested plenty of times
although i do agree its hard to know as we archived the old feedback channel
but yeah tag me when new ideas come in 👍
first you gotta deal with the stuff i've suggested for Wootomation
i dont work on wootomation lol
The what now?
He knows what it's about

but basically: I've reached the weight limit with my latest order
nothing to fix
So i get a page that simply says '0' when i try to upgrade the order
Oh that. That's only partially up to us. Couriers set certain limits for each country - And prices go up after a certain limits.
There's also the issue of our warehouse not having packaging for beyond a certain size or weight.
Ohhh the hub. Yeah 100% Tony.

throws under bus
xD
na the whole upgrade drawer opens with nothing in it or just 0 in it is smth thats annoying but not high up the priority list atm
unless customer support doesnt want new toys
Just change it to "We are sorry, but your order has reached the weight limit. We can't add more products to it."

or be the troll you are and change it to: "Your order's getting too fat. No one wants to deliver fatties, sry"
I'm afraid your order is just too Wooting amazing to contain anything more.
Acrylic 😎
That too would look very cool
I love white keycaps. Especially after a long sweaty gaming session with lots of cheetos
ofc
but the rgb hits different with white keycaps
Mine are usually orange by the time the cheeto dust settles though
LOL
Now we need a sound test
Yeaaaaah i wish it was a little bit more thocky. Not quite there yet 😛 Waiting for some more mods to arrive.
The keycaps are a little bit more low profile, which i like. Gives me a little bit more freedom to move around the board and i think it will help in games too
Waiting for my pc plate to arrive 👍
Yeah exactly same here
The Tofu Redux is really good tho
Even without the brass middle plate it's quite a bit more hefty
It makes my Epomaker feel cheap as hell
Which it is, but hey you know what i mean 😛
my previous keyboard already felt cheap lmao
The Epomaker felt really good when i first got it. It was cheap but so damn good.
But this is wayyyyy better already. And it still isn't there yet IMO 🙂 But that's only sound wise.
Typing wise it's really good and I don't have to mention gaming
The only thing is with day to day work (for me) the only thing that's lacking are the arrow keys and the pgup, pgdown, home etc keys
Typing going to feel even better on the wooting when that pc plate arrives 🤤
Oh hell yeah
Can't wait 😄
I have got two layers of foam in it now. The stock wooting one and the one that came with the Tofu Redux
I have a feeling some o-rings might work wonders too, but i don't think i can fit a hamburger mod in there with two layers of foam
You can try gummy o ringing it
Sounds good, will look into that
No
Rated 30A hardness
The keycaps I use now are XVX profile (Womier)
Kinda feels pretty good 🙂
Your hands are in a more relaxed state when on the WSAD keys i feel like
another gummy oring user yay
What case is this?
Tofu Redux
looks pretty cool indeed. nice
totally not on my laptop during midnight
the legends are
interesting....
man just installed all new fans on my computer lol
and fixed fan curves and pump speeds for the radiators
ww
thing runs so much better now. so pumped
w
while im doing homework in the restroom without my dad knowing
yeah bro time to pass out. gn
Fking hate all the wires from the old fans so got these new Lian li p28 that clip together. One wire for 3 fans. And they run quieter and cooler and easier
Stacked but yeah, keyboards

You gummy mounting in the wooting case? Curious if you have any issues. I did it in mine and it actually warped it so it wouldn’t sit flat (I promptly took it out and went back to tray mount). Was fine again after tho
waitring on my tofu 60 redux to do it
Ah okay
yeah fortunately any issues i've had so far with playing around with stuff, i've been able to fix by just undo'ing it

can i spring mount my wooting
Hello
Im about to get my wooting 60he and this will be my first mod, i wanna make it more silent, what mods do you guys recommend?
My gf sleeps in the same room i have my desktop so i dont wanna make too much noise with it
lubing
there is witch tape mod
Lubing will help
but kind of hassle
You've done it?
im doing it rn
Still,oofers
only for stab keys
Ah okay
dont have time to do on 70 keys
I plan to do all 70
good luck
I have seen ppl puts a foam between the keys and the case
Wow thats a lot of work haahha, i will try lubing first
Thanks speedbuff
That is not a lot of work if you prep it all
Here's a good example of what you can achieve with modding the 60HE. Sound test comparison timestamps: 18:34 and completely modded: 2:00:27

Tofu Redux silver will only arrive at kbdfans sometime next week -_-
What type of tape is he using in the video??
It's polyimide tape
or uhmw tape
Okay sick! Just to confirm this is the black tape he ends up using right??
damn i didnt think to get fancy tape for the tape mod..i just got some painters tape
The black one looks like electrical tape but I only noticed the roll of Polymide which he often uses
Any old tape will do as long as it doesn't set your keyboard on fire, which I don't even know if that's possible
ya i think ill be fine...seen a bunch of people mod with painters tape
in your opinion what lub is best for stabs ? I'm looking at the Krytox XHT-BDZ but there are others like dielectric grease and molykote
Ok cool wooting uses Molykote is that a messy one too ?
not as bad
Ok cool thanks,
xht-bdz is probably the "best", in reality it doesn't make a big difference
and you basically can't clean it if you get it on your desk or something
it is super viscous
Dang ok probs won't go for that the , I think my stabs are fine for now factory lubed maybe in the future if I wanna change stabs
in most cases you can get away with just using 205g0
That is kind of amazing ngl
Ansi, ew
#hater :p

I bought the first case because it didn't have the cutout on the bottom like the 2nd one, but now that I look again, the usb cutout is more exposed on the KPRepublic case, would anyone know of a case thats basically just the KPRebublic with the flush usb cutout of the 2nd photo. If not I'll probably just 3D print a makeshift cutout.
ye exagerated by the cussion i have under the whole case moving
no since its the pcb that moves
also can u show pics of the top with the stock keycaps and black redux?
which affects the switches or not?
what are you saying tectonic plates move all the time
lol
just need new keycaps and im set
i have the black redux as well not put it togtehr yet though
makes me jealous
should've bought the Alumaze, now you have a nice strap you can't use
true
lighter = faster
maybe for module
i wouldve got alumaze IF i got this one keycap set
ill have both
but i wont buy it so no need
there needs to be like redux anodised red and green as alumaze
which set?
i saw 55€ gmk set (legit)
site was breaking down so they tried to cash out
it was this wait
this with the gray concrete alumaze wouldve been cool to me
i rlly like this set for some reason
What happened in the end there? Did they cancel orders?
No its still on their site
not bad, not bad at all
theres like 15 55€ gmk sets
i just bought a black redux tho so i bet it wouldnt look that nice..
im gonna go with some WoB keycaps
Ah yeah you’d want lighter case for those keys or bright color one
Do they have Analog Dreams? I think I need this and then my wallet turned to dust. Sadge
but also my setup is black white so it wouldnt have matched but if i wanted to make smth unique i wouldve copped those for sure
check them out
mykeeb website
Concrete alumaze is actually such a nice color
they have a couple purples ones too
okok
suits that gray
Very unique for a shade
it wouldve been INSANE
I hope there’s a cream or concrete option whenever they do their 75%/tkl next year
wondering if my pc plate+l45 or redux will be here earlier
cant wait to mod a kb for the first time
🥰
finally finish modding my wooting
lets see it !!
🥳
had to remove a layer of foam else gummy mount aint fitting
i put the top in first and for the bottom i use a card and push it in slowly
what other mods did you do ?
did you remove the foam between pcb and plate?
mine started to cave in
i just ended up burger mounting it
where did you get your o rings from for burger mount ?
switch lube
Durock Plate Mount Stabilisers
Tape Mode
Gummy Mount
i didnt, the foam does get push in a little but nothing too bad
hmm maybe ill try an other day
when saw it cave in i just stopped there didnt know if it was gonna damage somethiung
i had to retune my stabs so i took it out multiple times 💀
classic
u can easily push the foam back into place when i remove my gummy ring
ya my stab was dead ass mussy af, so i went back to good old krytox
That means your gummy oring wasn't fully between the plate and pcb when you installed it into the case
It doesnt
It's normal
Been doing it ever since I've done the switch tape mod
Dunno how long that was

anyone know where else sells these kind of keyboard mats ?
With a Keyboard mat, you can show off your whole desk and use more of the available space without the fear of leaving stains, or wearing down the mats fabric while still keeping that beautiful deep thock sound of thick 4mm foam resting on rubber that we have. SPECS Production Method: Stitched Edges Texture: Smooth Clot
Nice they look better thanks
does this THOCK
Yeah a bit different than usual 😄
Yes it have a difference you can hear that
do u have it and if yes can u do sound with and without and show me
sounds more deep
Is yours the 60% one ?
Yes it is
sound test with and without pls
i will try
YeH can’t have that shit
but telephone mic isnt really good
ok cool thanks i just bought the 60% one in black 🙂
my bank account loves me having this useless hobby haha !!
lol yeah “sweet” hobby
PC overall a suck
Bought 10 fans for PC case
Keyboards
Mice
Audio lol
Monitors
So many rabbit holes in one hobby
@untold wigeon it seems doesnt have any difference but in real life yes it is noticeable
i can tell a little diff
im sure if we can tell the little diff here in the recorrding it will be much more noticable in real life
i like it with, im tryiong to go for a more thocky sound myself as well !
it isnt muted you can understand irl
yeah if record with higly quality microphone we can eaisly understand
sounds similar but yea it removes some weird cheap sound
if u know what i mean
i hope the pc plate makes a difference
yes
like a noticeable one
better than old steel plate %100
I am curious what it feels like
cool wooting i saw the other day
I like the cable, just not sure about those keycaps
I used to always want this but not so much now
what keycaps are those? they look so good
idk
What lighting colour would look good with this?
none
just turn rgb off
Man yeah the urge to get a ambient lighting strip for the back side of the monitor and get some solid quality non-shine through keycaps is strong
But meh
Kinda liking the side print
you monitor already has a lighting strip on one side
also those ambilight strips all kinda suck
My monitors too close to my face to light up anything else
Just get the Phillips Hue lights if you really want ambient light.
That's what my daughter has behind her monitor
I also agree with the quality non-shine through keycaps. The extra thickness you get when you eliminate shinethrough (and I prefer cherry profile) is a nice upgrade.
nanoleaf!!
hello anyone know you can put like "decals" on the alu case
like this
That looks like custom paint job
interesting
for you typing profile would you guys set rapid trigger and tachyon mode ?
Here's an interview of the artist, looks like he spray paints the products
Over the past few years, the custom gaming peripheral market has completely popped off.
From mice, to custom mechanical keyboards, artisan mousepads and even chairs -- you can pretty much do whatever you want with your setup.
Some learn how to do the job themselves, while others seek the help of professionals. But among gaming’s top peripheral...
thank you!
i have so many questions so sorry if you keep seeing my name pop up in here haha
for the burger mount will silicon rings this size be ok - 4mm od 1mm id 1.5mm width
I prefer a slightly larger size at it's less likely to get squished if you overtighten, and lessens the possibility of the O-Ring going through the screw holes on the PCB
uxcell Silicone O-Rings, 4.5mm OD 1.5mm ID 1.5mm
If I were to 3d print the switch films, what are the dimensions
Hey guys could someone let me know you put on the gummy o ring? Mine is blocking the screw in holes to attach the case and my pcb together
Gummy o ring
I dont think youre supposed to screw anything on gummy mounted
From what ive seen people go out of their way to remove the screw standoffs
Which stand offs? Is it the one along the side of the plate or middle?
Gummy o-ring is designed to be friction fit and not screwed down.
Here is an example - https://youtu.be/TotSEWmSxoQ
Wooting 60 HE in Klippe T special edition solid brass case using gummy o-ring friction fit mount
Thank you so much, this helped plenty, was just having trouble fitting it into the case
I hear the difference

@inland ocean
Bro got the dimensions
I don't have it save on my phone
alright the switch tape mod looks like the world's biggest pain to do but does it make the actuations inconsistent or anything?
i would imagine that it would change how high the stem sits
and im worried about it not being consistent across multiple switches
also how did people figure this out i can not find info about switch tape mods outside of this discord ANYWHERE
also if its worth mentioning i would be combining it with films
and pe foam
Whats the issue you're trying to solve by doing these mods?
Tf is a switch tape mod, you mean switch films?
Usually it's done when the housing isn't as tight as it could be, but on wooting switches yoi don't need it
Or do you mean switch pads
That go on the pcb under the switch
They’re putting tape around the housing between the stem and housing
Yee thats useless on the lekker ones
Some people like it
Bruh
I don’t feel the need
Those people do it bc they don't know what's it for
I think they do it cuz they’re bored
And want the lekkers to not be lekkers
lol
But to each their own
They do it to try and make the switches quieter. Some people say it caused issues, some say they have no problems. Some like it, some dont. Welcome to modding
from what ive seen it doesn't just make the switches quiter but helps out with the weird return noise that the lekkers have
Just need a different wristrest and cable and this is done
pretty much lol
already have films, search "switch tape mod" in this discord
improving weird lekker plasticy/chattery noise
Im not really familiar with that one so Im of no help. Specifically mine dont chatter or sound plasticy
yeah its not bad, just enough to be noticable on mine
Have you done any mods yet?
lubed l45 switches, tape mod, tofu60 redux
got some more things ordered and on the way
oh and switch films
The tape mod is meant to create a poppier sound, so that might be contributing to the noises you dont like. Since they are filmed, that adds an additional level of mod that could affect the sound.
im hoping that i wont need to do the switch tape mod but im trying to get this thing to be perfect so that i never have to open it up again or research keyboards
yeah i was thinking that too
i'll see what happens and go from there ig
i suppose the only thing im looking for is how it might affect actuation to be combining all these things
I wish you luck but as someone who has been in the hobby for almost 7yrs now. Perfect doesnt exist 🙂
yeah i get that feeling 🫥
will be interesting to see how much more money this hobby eats away from me over the years
It will consume your soul
i got only 1 hour of sleep because i was researching keyboards i think it already has
Any good mod ideas for the take control caps? I want to pair with white possibly
have you lubed them
There arent any specific mods for keycaps
i guess you can tape them
Tape your caps?
I was thinking color wise, just aesthetic mods. Idk about foam or tape until I hear the in person sound. I think I’ll like the factory sound enough
But might do a cap switch and case. Just depends
lol
How long does it take u guys to lube? I’ve read that factory lubing is solid
MODS MODS AND MORE MODS
Color wise you cant go wrong with black, gray or white
sorry you can tape under your space bar
Also don’t make fun this will be my first kb that’s nice. My current is trash
its all good
Is it worth the lube
Do you have the keyboard yet?
Nice creepy wink bro
lol
Yeah just let it show up and enjoy it
Then decide if you want any mods
It’s a sweet keyboard as is
If anyone here makes fun of you Ill give them a gentle reminder to be nice. Factory lubing has made great strides in the last few years but it will likely never replace doing it yourself if you want consistency.
30 years
I prioritize performance for competitive gameplay
lol
Don’t want to take it apart and lube it and ruin anything accidentally
what games you play
Call of Duty, a little CS GO, and pretty much any fps you can think of
A little fortnite but I try not too anymore
Dont bring up CSGO in here or @polar girder will tell you he wants to play and then never send you a steam invitation
I spent 280 on mine 😂
ngl im a fortnite nerd lol
damn
Nothing scary at all. It just seems intimidating at first but its not
What’s my steam ID
I used to be comp on controller and knew retakes and everything and then quit playing. I’d like to learn fn kbm now but I’m so far behind
And my keybinds are weird asf so I’d have to learn / change everything around
If you dont know then how are we supposed to know?
yeah i understand. there is alot of stuff you have to learn.
as far mechanics aiming games sense
this number hurts my soul and keeps rising
Yeah I’m still learning kbm. Got my first PC build a few months ago and have been easing into it while streaming. Been playing cod kbm for about a month now and cracked already tho
damn
Hahahahha sheeeesh
Which one did you get? I’d love to go crazy and mod tf out of mine but I need to upgrade my cpu. I’ve got an i5-13400F
Hop back on cod sometime. I’m pumped for the next one
Lmk if you want to play sometime
thanks for the offer but im good.
i hope you have a blessed day bye.
or see you later
See ya later ✌️
Yeah I won’t be in for another 6 hours or so probably but I’ll add you later for sure
any one here using the tofu 60 redux case finding the sound really thin compared to the stock case
i used the foam that comes with the tofu 60 thin one
Yeah I didn’t like that foam
*thin sorry
I separated the stock 60He foam, cut the end off the small peace to fit in the gap, then big piece on top
But I also don’t have brass weight
ahh i see i tried to put the stock foam in but it wouldnt fit
If you have brass weight maybe just separate and leave the smaller piece out
I have the brass weight in the rectangular slot
Yeah just separate the two and only use the big piece then
if i want more thock do i need to ad more padding/foam ?
It’s not about more it’s about density
Well and sort of thickness also
Cuz I move around a bit and didn’t want super fking heavy
so for thockyness i would want to pack it tightly ?
Like I go between tilted gaming to straight typing depending
dude wtf
Just play around with them
FWIW I couldn’t fit one layer of Wooting stock foam + the redux foam
But I tried them both and preferred Wooting
But some prefer redux foam sound
Heavy only for thock, thick needs light. Also brass weight they offer is TOO expensive
You’re always disappointed by people not doing exactly what you did
with the redux case do you know what the little strip of black foam is for there are like little semi circles cut out which are sticky
I think it’s for the little curved ledges around the case
Someone mentioned. But I haven’t checked
so if i want thock im doing it wrong as I have the brass weight
Brass helps with thock
ahh yes that makes sense
Brass is more dense
kinda like the stock case sounds more now hmmm....
You have all the stuff. I would experiment
There isn't enough brass in that little plate to make much of a sound difference. Get it if you want more weight though.
yep gunna have to
With and without brass weight and with and without each foam
Why?
Maybe you prefer no brass no foam the best
@polar girder did you install the gold standoff in the middle ?
No
ok yeah i just did the one at bottom
I just used same stock 5 stock case has
hmmm i also feel like my spacebar stabs needs a bit more lube
yeah stock foam sounds so much better that pop is back still not as deep as stock but will suffice for now
If youre not happy with the sound after experimenting with what you have now, try some polyfill/fiberfill instead of foam. $5 will get you enough to do 100 keyboards 🙂
is this the stuff that are in cheap pillows ?
yes
and soft toys
haha ok yeah i saw some vids on it found it weird but might give it a go
Thinner materials reduce higher frequencies. Stuffing your case full of thick foam wont give you a deeper sound
i guess the steel plate is not helping if i want a deeper sound
100%
Yeah that’s my plan
Wait for module announcement, cop that or PC plate, burger mount it and lube the switches at that point
same
klippe t or tofu redux
grab module 60he
tx ap stab
carbon fibre and pom plate from KBDfans to experience in term of sound
Id avoid the carbon plate since it has flex cuts in the plate
It doesnt have to be much, only needs to flex .1mm to be an issue. If you go that route please let us know how it goes and if you have any issues at maximum sensitivity
Yeah we need some feedback on the KBD plates. Curious
I dont recommend switch pads but if you insist then go for the thinnest hardest ones
ok
i know that it'll affect the switch pre travel, and since i normally use the most sensitive settings for my wooting, i was debating on whether i should even get them in the first place
anyone know how to install the new PC plate on the wooting?
@lament citrus @fluid ravine print at dimensions that the model is - scale Z to be as thick as you want
Well the switch distance is recalibrated everytime you plug in the keyboard so installing pads by itself wont create an issue. However imagine pushing down on the switch and you compress a 1mm soft switch pad and then without meaning to you let off just enough pressure that the pad pushes the switch back up 1mm and the keyboard thinks you just released the key.
oh
okay
i did not know about the recalibration
i just assumed it would automatically based it off a preset value stored on the board
im trying to achieve a creamy and thocky sound for my keyboard, so would pe or eva be better?
eva is harder and stiffer, but pe is pe
so there's that
You'll have to experiement and see. Dampening choice is only one part of a lot of factors. Plate type, case type/material and keycap type/thickness for example make larger differences than foam types
yea
Typically though, thinner foam does a better job at reducing higher frequencies
,but until my pc plate and new switches arrive, im stuck with what i've got
i heard that pc plates really mute the higher and lower frequencies in exchange for the thockiest sounds in a keyboard
but i need a bit of sound for playing osu!
so im stuck at a bit of a conundrum there
i think i remember this from keybored's video
IT IS FROM KEYBORED'S VIDEO, lmao
i think
I dont thinkl you have to worry about the switches being too quiet that you wont hear them. They are not silent/dampened by design.
