shame i cant get the pc plate until they manage to release an iso
yeh i will gasket and tape mod when my tofuredux arrives in a couple months
but im filming the switches soon as well
what films you getting
wuque ones
m
i will see how they feel worst comes to the worst i wasted a tenner
i honestly prefer no films but its whatever
not much of a difference
oh wth
OH WOAH
um
somethings wrong
my a and d are being f up
its spamming keys
uh oh
yep thats something ik nothing about soz
weird
when i filmed these in the caaaar i was getting the chaatter vibes
oh there we go
the A is spammed for no reaason
aalert alert sensor f up
haha
im noticing some issue wwith the sensor ;-;
just played a valorant death match
and my W is deactivating without me even releasing
brightness is at 70
0.1 on wasd
oh
i forgot
holdup
0.15mm
yeah its small
huh usually its not
been palying like this for a couple months without a problem
films +.15mm
rapid trigger- deactivate rn!!!!!!!!
haha
ah
how does a keyboard overlay work
o
oh i needdd that
MY D
AH F
i think switch pads are fine since they're 0.5mm
iddk if its the films or not
since i filmed them they start acting off
AH IT IS THE FILMS
i foundd the problem
oh shi it either meansss i installed them incorrectly or it just f up
ok so i have the RT display on rn
and when i was holdding W, i lean the keycap to the right andd it deactivated, lean it to the left it actuate
its weird no?
swap that switch with another and see if its still happens
yeah it still happens
i tried with 3 of them
Then maybe its the pad you installed OR and hear me out here, some people have reported a similar issue that youre describing after tape mod. Try removing the tape as well
ok i got a switch that is filmed without the tape
switch pad does this
even a small separation will change magnetic force
makes sense to me
Thats why the FAQ suggests one mod at a time and then test š
bahah
tru
ok found it pt.2
alright 2 thingss
um dont mix the switch tape mod with the films
its f up
and sound profile of the switch tape mod and the film themselves they sound the same
so technically my problem is i mixed the 2 mods which i should it really messes up the sensor
not the switch pad
and it maade the keys sound like plassssticccc
i have no options to do now
1.)take out the tape
2.)take out the films

take out both and see which affects sound more
who cares about time
just buy a test wooting instead
time is money
(obviously a joke please do not do this)
maybe i should buy an ansi module
so i can get the pc place
Hey, anyone here tried filming the lekker switches for Wooting 60HE?
I noticed there is a housing wobble
I was wondering if what film is recommended for the switch or should I even film it?
i like both
but the thing between them is that
the switch tape mod make the switch sound solid af like it would like make it sound marbly but the smoothness just decreases
the films on the other hand it would sound like every lube lekker, also has that clunky sound which i dont like as much as the the switch tape mod but atleast theres no chatter
GYAT MY SPACEBAR MARBLY
HOLY SHI
Hey guys, Iām getting my wooting 60he Saturday and am brand new to modding. Is there any red aluminum cases on the market?
Or any metal
Tofu60 Redux Burgundy Red
PSD60 Red
Klippe T Red
aluminum cases btw^
Donāt know any of those, what do you recommend?
PSD60 is the budget
klippe t red would be on the expensive side
do you have a budget?
Klippe T for me personally
I donāt know ANYTHING btw. Iām not too worried about difficulty I just want the cleanest thing. Somewhat cost conscious but if thereās a clear favorite/best Iāll pay for it
Best quality one
yeah klippe t
No unless we are talking about like a $300 case which seems silly
@silent olive
the red is 130
Klippe is the best?
ig so
Yeah check it out
Also how available are these things
in stock rn i think
Klippe T is our high quality, clean and affordable keyboard chassis. Borrowing its mounting from the well known Fjell, it has great sound and typing properties. Itās a safe choice when you want a simple design, with great sound and fantastic color options.Ā In the box Klippe T Keyboard Chassis with all mounting hardwar
i don't mean to interrupt any ongoing conversations, but does anyone know how to silence the sound of upstroke? I assume it's the keycaps but just want to be certain(oem keycaps, baka60 case). I also noticed the sound of the top row keys(esc-backspace) sounds a lot more deep compared to my other keys(which i like), does anyone have any recommendations on which keycap profile I should be looking for?
Lol
theres this thing i really like called the switch tape mod
which i just removed sadly
if you have the time to double the time of the lubing process then you should go for it yuh know
:_)
What do you guys recommend I do? Anything a must do with the wooting? I donāt really care about the sound at all but since Iām changing the case and some key caps I wanted to kinda go all out for fun to see if itās something I like
crazy you say that.. I received my kb back in late april/early may, and i've lubed my switches a few keys at a time everyday; I feel like i've relubed my switches atleast 3x now(going off less is more rule) and i swear i've overlubed atleast 2 of my switches, which sound entirely similar to the rest, if not, muddy
ayyy hes like me @marble shuttle
I feel like less is more with mods too
Lube, burger mount, tape mod
What materials do I need for alla dat
People do like 100 mods and they still arenāt satisfied
I know burger mounting is just doubling up on some plastic o rings right
If you're new to lubing switches, I suggest using 3203 or 3204 it's more forgiving compared to 205g0 since it's less viscosity
Silicone o rings yes
lube-krytox 205g0 and 105
tape mod- masking tape
burger mount- oring
On Amazon
me over here...
hey man dont call me out
hehe
Youāre what I had in mind lol
You guys are super helpful thanks
ARGH
I got the wooting lube already is that ok?
np
Any films compatible for the lekker switch? I tried Deskeys and TX films they don't fit
Iām not familiar with tape mod Iāll have to check that out
its easy :)
totally didnt try like multiple things with it
As far as Iād go with stabs, no need for an Epsi or Holee mod
For the lube I just got the wooting tool kit + lube, is that ok?
Absolutely
WWWWWW

This fps boost from my keyboard gonna go crazy
Lolll
Fr?
For some reason I get better with a cleaner setup lol
Yeah itās like 5 bucks
yeah
Whatās it do
Tube?
The grease
Minimizes rattle
Hmm
When it contacts the actual stab
Can I get links for the grease, o rings, and tape?
Amazon if possible Iām ordering rn
you can get the grease off shelf
Iāve had these pictures saved in my phone for the longest time
Lmao
Having tried 205g0 and dielectric I think XHT-BDZ is the best for stabs it's cleaner and you rarely need to relube
tru
I have, theyāre not dumb, they feel really nice
Just woefully expensive
What thickness masking tape yāall get for tape mod
Because it takes alot of effort to machine such geometries
Scotch blue
just normal painter's tape and i usually do 2-3 layers of tape
I use this one https://www.amazon.com/ScotchBlue-Original-Multi-Surface-Painters-inches/dp/B00004Z4DU

Also itās what I have lol
I use scotch blue as well
Some thick ass tape
Donāt really use anything else other than scotch blue
Thick boy
although you can get by with really any masking tape
This
uxcell Silicone O-Rings, 4mm OD 1mm ID 1.5mm Width VMQ Seal Gasket for Compressor Valves Pipe Repair, White, Pack of 30 https://a.co/d/2WIOANN
These good?
Theyāre fine yeah
ye
I use them as well
Just a small tube will do the trick
Unless you plan on using it on your car as well lmao.
nah average :_)
Haha my dad destroys the big bottles
my only issue with my wooting is the switches the wobble bothers me so much lol
I just have a huge tube of dielectric grease for automotive stuff
leaving me to have to buy some on amazon lol,
but idk which films works for it
what car do you have?
Permatex Dielectric Tune-Up Grease protects electrical connections and wiring from salt, dirt and corrosion. Required for modern high energy ignition systems, dialectric grease extends the life of bulb sockets and prevents voltage leaks around any electrical connection. Also prevents spark plugs ...
This + case. I already have lube.
Missing anything to do tape mod, burger mount, and lubing?
For now itās my dads old Honda Civic, but recently put a down payment on a Tesla.
nice bro
I used to shit on Teslas but Im really interested in how they drive
and how efficient they are
although in florida i know they get loud
Iāve test driven one, they drive really differently from a gas car.
How so?
Specifically the gas pedal
It aināt that bad
cali is so flooded with tesla lol
specially in irvine, CA
where most of the population are asians
You canāt really tell how loud it is when youāre inside
So basically, with the gas pedal you hold it at a certain position and it will hold that speed when you hold the pedal at that position, and when you release it it comes to a stop rather than cruise along
As long as you have a garage in Florida itās nice
Obviously you can change the gas pedal behavior to mimic an actual gas car lol.
Because Tesla thought about that
I am Asian lmao
And yes there are a lot of Asian people in CA
Thatās so strange
It is lmao
Teslas have some pep to it, you can feel it push you back in your seat when you really push on the gas.
Not like this^^^
What other red aluminum cases did yāall recommend? Sorry for so many questions
No yeah, Teslas deliver instant torque.
Rather than a gradual one
Supercharger-esque?
getting a little off topic here lol
PSD60, Tofu60
I drive a Tesla now. I used to drive a IS350 f sport and that car was slower but twice as fun
Yeah lol
At least these mods arenāt like the ones in SFFGurus
They banned me because of those videos I sent lol
In their OFF TOPIC channel
āAny further transgressions will get you bannedā
Is the tofu 2.0 ok?

2.0 has a centered usb cutout and itās a different mount
To promote their sh*tty new PCB
Wow itās much cheaper
$60!
But itās also not shipping to September mannnnnn wtf
Iād get it with the brass cutout
The burgundy is nice too but I wanted a red and black to match my desk and hien mousepad
Show us the setup
Fellow Artisan mousepad enjoyer
I aināt got nicely lit photos I just took this lol
oo i like the second deck thing
Yea it gives nice utility
Here is me during work
AT2020 chad?
Anyone know of any clean aluminum cases? Considering the tofu 1.0 is sold out
Huh
What mic is that
Also thank you @red cloak @untold wigeon for being so helpful today
Sudotak or something. Cheap Amazon mic
Iām trying to bring out my inner you @mental hemlock
Holy fucking shit Plipps
What did you just do
Dropped my wooting into my blade60 and went all black keycaps. You have inspired me. DEFINITELY doesnāt look as good as it doesnāt blacked out in the Tofu, but it works
No cap I like the 5 degree cases
š§¢
oh wth i missed that
Itās unique
Lol, donāt stress. I just had my first eye appointment this week! š
Time to play
Dude you take some shots! Your photos are beautiful
I actually want to play Apex Legends now lol
R6S has been making my aim better i think lol
Also Plipps, sorry I haven't been speaking much lol. I've been enjoying this keyboard so much I don't even have anything to say
I've literally slept at 6am everyday because I'm just playing all the time
Seriously thatās all I needed to hear. Just happy youāre happy!
No letter keycaps
Make me wanna kill myself
The h and the j spot always a struggle
There are bumps on F and J...how is H and J a struggle...?
Blanks just look so sexy though. I'd love for the the Alu 60HE to have bezel thickness similar to the RS60. I think it frames the keycaps nicer in comparison to thin bezels imo
Idk my brain just can't function
Yeah I need my legends

Your black aestethic desk looks nice bro
bow down to zeh king
thank you bro
I'm gonna get the Idasen standing desk one day

I don't want to be sitting down all day lol
@loud zephyr
i swapped to a custom POM plate from smkeyboards
when i set it to max rapid trigger settings it can sometimes spam a key
but in actual gameplay where i just have wasd with rapid trigger i haven't had issues
Did you use the stand-off kit that he recommends for the plate??
Were u able to used both the screws?
wdym
the standoffs are all on
i have the freebird 60 case which doesan't have the middle 2 standoffs on the case which might make the difference
Like I couldnāt use the flat head screws, they donāt fit
oh
i used the the screws meant for the pcb side on the plate
and used the screws that came with the wooting on the bottom
So u didnāt use the flat heads screws?
yeah i didn't use the angled one
Hello darkness with Gateron oil kings I presume, those switches have very good factory lubing and nice to type on. I'm looking forward to going opposite to yours with Redux E-white and blank beige
Damn I would love to see it
I had all white originally but i grew out of it
Does anyone have sound tests with different plates in the 60HE? š
i dont think anybody has it yet
This is how I want mine to look
I think @stray tiger has some
Red and black always work well together. If only I could find those Cherry OG POM keycaps though, the imperfections look kinda cool
Iām keeping the stock key and for now besides wasd I wanna find red ones
What case it that @loud zephyr ?
Bisoromi RS60
Here's a small sample of SMKeys POM plate they're selling: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnzRqwiI45b/
Could potentially try to get an Aluminium plate made for the ISO version to test things out, was thinking of a Carbon fiber at first but like the Thocky sound so PC or POM would probably be better š¤
I would definitely try out pc or pom first and see if you can take out the metallic sound.
Yeah but would need to try to find some ISO version of it somewhere in EU then, Keebcats could be an option once one would be able to order some custom plates
I have a final question wich cable can someone recommend me for the wooting without problems I have read the Someone custom cable make Problem for a wooting are this cable good ?
Glorious PC Gaming Race Coiled Cable Phantom Black, USB-C auf USB-A Spiralkabel, USB C Kabel Spiralkabel, Coiled Cable Keyboard mit Aviator Plug, 1,37 Meters, Ordentlich USB C Spiralkabel, schwarz https://amzn.eu/d/e8scT3k
is the wooting dampening foam easy to take out and re use?
Yes
Its not glued in or anything
so i shouldnt need to buy anything if i plan to use a klippe t then?
for foam
If you like the sound, there is no reason to switch, no
You maybe have to separate the two foam pieces, but that is doable as i heard
hehehe
seeing so many setups im starting to want just straght black keycaps man
is there any case that significantly lowers the height?
There are some low profile cases out there on AliExpress and the upcoming aluminum case will be able to sit at 4 degrees with the smaller feet
will the wooting also be lower in the front?
Niceu
I received my wooting 2he earlier this week and was planning to do the burger mod. I noticed when removing the screws only the single top plate with the switches fell out.
So I was wondering if anyone has experience with modding the 2he version and would be so kind to help me out.
This is for all wooting keyboards
It was moved over from the 60He channel. š
ohh haha
im unsure how youd burger mount the 2he as you cant really mound the topplate in that way
Yeah I straight up overlooked the modding channelš
š¦
Gm!
Nice ty. Those plate dampening pads (in the module) are interesting
Thank you.
Whatās a good cable that looks nice not the coiled ones but the other one
š¤

anyone tried these?
looks good
Is there a decent website for this? Thatās reliable
https://keebstuff.com/ is also good
These donāt ship to the us tho right ?
@untold wigeon Cablemod , you can configure your own cable
But my cable isnt from there just dude in my country did it
Also cable mod from usa i guess its really good option for shipping if the price is okay for you
prolly not
You did though?
no preview, weird

thats what im sayig
ugh
Anyways that vid was a test
And thoccy space bar :)
Whatād you do for space bar šļøššļø

@fluid ravine TenZ that thing sounds amazing bro lol
THXX
I think it might sound even better than mine lol
although my space bar is kind of loud
for a whole 20 mins i thought you were talking about mine
english needs to explain
š
ye
first bought akkko ASA clear keycaps setc they werent good for gaming as they became glossy and slippery overtime and i really was needing a keycap set that set is like a cherry profile and off the shelf so i went to best buy and bought some glorious gbpt i even let my mom chose the color
now im thinking on what if i swap into pc plates
would it even thocc even more?!?!
hey sorry if this has been answered before but I have a wooting one keyboard and i was wondering if the new L60/L45 switches would be compatible
𤣠bruh
gotcha, i read that it wasnt before when they sold switches before so i was just making sure
chill
@mental hemlock š
Yo someone know some good case for ~50$
2x70
You're buying switches though, not just springs.
We're working on a variety spring pack, coming "soon"
Time will tell I suppose.
hey everyone. can someone explain or share a link to understand the difference between tempest mod and switch tape mod?
i'm talking about this actually. searching online shows the same thing for both
The best way to clean keycaps is lukewarm water and soap right ?
ah grand cus I got a lovely set and I definitely dont want to ruin them at all
Anyone got a good recommendation for stabilizers?
What's the next best simple case since the tofu is impossible to find?
Would it be the Poseidon 60?
hey @fluid ravine maybe you can help me understand the difference. š
The ones already on the board.
Sorry I meant it like in general? My friend is interested in doing a mechanical build and I'm helping him out with it
I'M ALIVE I JUST WOKE UP
HOLD UP
Ok so there's nothing about the switch tape mod online but I believe this was found by @shell geode and @delicate tartan
I just came along to do it only because I knew it should remove the upstroke plastic sound which i hate the most out of the lekker switches.
So technically the tempest mod is suppose to be layers of tape under the PCB which suppose to make the board poppy, but sadly it doesn't really work with the wooting because of its steel plate. (Well it works only if you don't use burger or tray mount)
Now the switch tape mod, like I said earlier this mod was technically made for the lekker switches only to remove or reduce the plastic upstroke sound that is being produce from the stem hitting top housing (Which is one of the reason its making that chattering noise) and reduces stem wobble.
So to perform this mod all you need is a strip of medical or masking tape that would fit the stem slider part of the internal and external top housing like the image shown below (Credits to GewaltofRiwa); the more layers you use, the more of the upstroke sound reduce (Maximum layers of medical tape: 3, Maximum layers of masking tape: 1). Then fold the tape over to in the internal and press it down for a secure stick. If using masking tape I recommend putting a little bit of lube on it as it will feel scratchy, but the tape i recommend is using medical tape as it has a soft porous feel and it can absorb the plastic to plastic clack. (Warning This can take the same amount of time it takes to lube switches;4-7 hours)
Oh boy it took me 17 mins
I hope you understand :]
oh wow dude you rock! thanks a lot for detailed explanation. it's all clear now!
sorry i was away for a while and couldn't respond
u gud
Iām new to keyboard mod . Opened up the wooting to see if I can swap the switches. Pretty good guides. Is stain on pcb board normal?
is that lube, can you tell?
How many times should i drop oil for 75 spring (gpl105 bag lubing)
I donāt know. Canāt tell. I dint lube the switches. Just dissembled stock ⦠to see if it was difficult
i see. i asked that because it could be factory lube spilled over
its prob the lube
i can tell from the imprints of the switch (i see it on my switch pads)
6-12 drops
@fluid ravine i did 12 drops for 60 spring
yeah in that case it shouldn't be a problem. you can safely wipe it off with isopropyl alcohol and a piece of cloth or cotton pad etc
well then do 14?
Is it ok to leave it as is? Will it harm the board?
quick question how do i get roles :v
actually nvm
srry for the ping

is there any case that fits the wooting that is hhkb layout
The PCB wouldn't fit. Not sure how you imagine HHKB and the 60HE would work?
It literally blocks several keys.
only the ctrl i think
Pretty cool you're trying this out! How do you like it so far?
amazing fixed most of my problems
beside the case thing and money
but W
and wasted money on films
but whatever
Gasket mount wasnt a regret
even if people say it wont work i think it was worth it
balanced out the sound profile :) and i can now take advantage on the tempest mod
it also helped my spacebar sound amzin
or solid actually
yo guys whatās the point in lubing switches if itās already prelubed with 205g0 just curious
The amount and thoroughness.
Factory lube is a quick dab with a machine.
alright ty
i am nervous to grease my stabs but i got my kit in
same for the stabilizers?
the usb c hole on my case is too small for my cable to connect fully. is there any way i can drill the case hole to be any bigger?
A metal file or a dremel is usually the approach. Though I would read up first.
Kind of hard to undo damage.
If I order the new switches they ship right away?
If the website says they're in stock, yes.
Iām just about to receive my first wooting keyboard, and I was looking at getting some custom key caps for it, is there a specific type of key cap I need to look for, or will any old key cap from Amazon work?
as long as its mx stem it works, which is almost all of them
Awesome thanks for all the help! Makes a lot more sense then it did before! Anyone have any recommendations on where to get some cool key caps from?
Also Iāve heard of people changing their chassis on their wooting; is it a notable mod to make? Iāve heard the stock chassis can feel cheap sometimes
what layout are you looking for?
Layout? QWERTY - Iāve got a 60% and I was looking for some cherry profile doubleshot pbt keycaps, but Iāve been trying to find some unique designs other than just colored keys, like Iāve seen some sick topographic key caps but most are white and I feel like it would look gross after a month without consisten cleaning
amazon, gmk
if you want unusual keycaps, you could use something like deadline studios doys
but most designs are just color obv
Ok ok ty for the sites. I spent hours on Amazon earlier and found 1-2 options that were meh what I was looking for, but Iāll def check those other sites!
Do white key caps tend to get nasty lookin over time?
i dont think so, the plastic isnt really absorbant
if you touch it with dorito grease everyday maybe
plus, you can just take them off and soak them in soap
oh mechanicalkeyboards.com has a ton of keycaps too
bought mine there actually
Iāll check em out as well, would you recommend changing the chassis as well for the wooting?
i have a 2he, so no clue on that.
Ok thanks for the suggestions! Found a ton more of cool options in considering now, realized the key caps I like are called novelties
I would
I don't know if this falls under keyboard modding, but:
I'm trying to spraypaint the keycaps from white (bought a separate set) to a "beige" tone, reminiscent of old computer keyboards.
I want to retain the lettering printed on the keycaps, without ruining them.
What would be the best way to go about it? Would I need to cut out painter's tape adjusted to the lettering, or is there a simpler method?
You don't. Very simple.
Even if you somehow manage to perfectly fit out the lettering with masking tape (you won't), the paint will wear off very quickly from daily use.
You'll want to buy a new set of keycaps
FUCK!!!
I'll just go with the white keycaps unmodified, then.
Wait, how are the keycaps painted from the factory then?
injection molds
Mhmm. Depending on the keycaps, one of several methods are used.
Ranging from using two different material mixtures, one after the other in the mold, to lasering off the lettering from the paint.
Lasering off the letteri-
Yeah no I'm poor I'll just spraypaint the setup a fresh white
Shoot I'd have to make the keyboard itself white so it doesn't have an odd black and white to it
This is what will happen, if you buy/make keycaps that use paint on the surface.
Got it, thank you Mr. Duck Man. š
Need help
Space bar clicking one side after greased stabilizer
What did I do
Apparently the answer was Moar grees
Thereās a way, you can print out the colour you want onto dye sublimation paper and heat press it onto the keycaps. It will be permanent and keep lettering as long as itās darker than the colour you are transferring
Actually sorry thereās an even easier way just dye the keycaps in black tea or coffee
If the lube is seperate then ye mix it
can you use switch pads on the lekker switches?
Switch pads are suppose to go on the pcb
But a switch tripod goes on the switch
i mean moreso
if you use standard switch pads
will they cause issues with the wooting pcb/lekker switches performance
Depending on the thickness
0.5mm should be fine
i plan on tape modding is there any part i should not cover?
not my wooting but still wanna mod anyway lo
ik i cant cover the usb port
all shoule be fine
as long as you dont cover anything too much
wooting makes heats snd you should not cover its dissipation
is it worth to buy a better case for a normal dude?
what keeb
ig like tape it and poke holes for the screws
ye
STEELSERIES APEX 9 MINI
ok ye
poke holes for the screws when you apply the tape
I'm so fucking scared.
wut
nuthin
nurd
man im treating this channel as general
not even gonna look at the actually general š
idc i have money
it's not an issue for me
so i'm gonna do it
i mean i'm not a kb builder obviously so i'm gonna build a hot swap barebones kit
like it'll be my first custom
i don't know yet
i don't know anything yet honestly lmao
Has anyone converted the wooting to a gasket mount?
@fluid ravine
HELLO!
GDAY MATE HOW YA DOIN
:]
how can i help you for the last 2 minutes of my time :]
Ok I shall be going now
If you have any questions tag me and I will reply tmrw
Gn peeps :)
Yes I have my wooting in a sageo60 which is a gasket mounted case
š
@untold wigeon good morning
Good morning bro
get in the wooting shinji
fjell is 60% ?
yea ://
ooh now i understand its about the keycaps
Can i hotswap my wooting two he into another chassis? Have never done it before so i dont quite understand how it works
No.
There is no common standard for full-sized keyboards, like we have with the 60HE. You'd have to custom make a case or adapt one with tools and luck.
i see
Yeah dude. Only channel I engage with hehe
Nice list. Thank you.
Seems like non of the āniceā keycaps have shine through
I usually game in dark room and need my bright shiny legends
Probably just stick with stock for that reason
Plus the stock keycaps seems reasonably thick. Not sure I would get a better sound on other PBT keycapsā¦
Almost finished the Frog-ooting..
that looks likes mansen his board
There's always one caveat with secondhand GMK's and that's how much it's been used. The shinyness is kinda fugly imo
Or buying unofficial reproductions via Ali š
If Beige is your jam JC Studio is pretty good, not sure if they've made other colourways just yet: https://geon.works/products/jc-studio-pbt-dye-sub-keycaps?variant=43442867503267
shinethrough isnt very conductive to designs and such, so thats rare. makes no sense to design a fancy colorway that gets the rgb rainbow treatment
It's also more complex and expensive to make.
As he mentioned you need thinner lube such as 105 instead of 205. You can apply 205 to each spring with a brush but its too thick to shake around in a bag evenly.
Well brushing it on each spring would guarantee that each spring is lubed properly and not over/underlubed. Bag lubing is quicker but not as consistent. If you demand the best, brush it on each spring. If you want the fast approach, throw them in a bag with a thinner lube and shake it up.
Ive done both and have been happy with both ways. Choice is yours, Im simply telling you the pros/cons
Just do bag lube its more eaiser and you gaining a lot of time
Bag lubing is chaotic, inconsistent and so damn messy. You're lubing the switch housing with a brush anyway, what's another controlled brush stroke or two š
Yeah what he said
Caveat: This is my personal opinion. Don't let me police what you prefer. š
The best part is when the springs in the bag get tangled together and you spend more time separating them than what you saved just brushing a little on during the rest of the process.
Hah yes. I remember trying to get the spring bag sorted.
Gooodmorningg
60he, L45, and lube set out for delivery right now. 3d printed switch films done. Tonight is going to be a good night š
Find something you want to watch and binge it while you're lubing lol. Also, I suggest testing a few keys with films before you do them all
Honestly I never thought of testing...now that you mention it, seems like common sense. Thanks! Will 100% do 5-6 to test out.
You really should š
Wasted my time and money on films š
Just to play devil's advocate and FWIW I always liked bag lube more. Completely my opinion but I always felt like the thinner lube used for bag lubing had better kinetic friction and covered the spring better with use. I always felt like when I donut dipped or brushed the springs I could feel it in the bottom out. Haha could always be a placebo or just my imagination but that was my preference
Can't comment on consistency. I've only used 205 personally, and it feels great.
Ah could always be my issue as well I always preferred tribosys 3203 thinner than 205 I think if I remember right
I used them with tactile switches because they didn't lose as much of the bump and ended up using it for most things because I enjoyed the feel of 3203
I'll definitely have to try out something thinner, once I have a module to try things out on.
Tribosys 3203 and 3204 are both a little thinner than 205g0. I always liked 3203 but 3204 is kinda in-between 205 and 3203 for me anyway. I always thought 3204 was a little more forgiving as well. But again could always just be my imagination haha
me over here puts all the springs in the bowl and just put 205g0 and make a mess with it
(doing it cause i lubed it with 2 types of lube already
and hell the springs in lekker switches need some help)
just use coconut oil
LMAO
half of these are over the $100 even tho bro asked for 50-60 max.
LMAO
š
All good, all good. You have a lot of choices when it comes to keycaps anyways; almost too many in fact
A small plastic container is the best way to go, plastic bags are baaaad lol. And to separate the springs just re-shake the container, then use a tweezer to pickup the spring.
My favorite combo for the Zooted. And hot damn WKL's look dope
enlighten me what wkl adds over normal
Absolutely nothing other than visual preference, for me at least
I also like the WKL look and even HHKB at times, but I use my win keys daily and Im too old to remap them at this point lol
why does it leave a 1U sized keycap hole though
It's a 7u spacebar and the FN key is a split right shift
Thats the typical 7u layout. What he said
Just remap the winkey to right-ALT. Done and dusted - party time!
we're dumb lol
Pretty much any button combo will do
lmfao
lol it happens
I might do that when I get a MJ64 PCB
For sure give it a go, you're bound to find a more convenient way to organize your function layout
lots of keys to play with
I have a board with a similar layout but with a full size right shift
so a 65?
Negative. Let me take a picture
awesome
Default layout for the Wooting is fine for me, it's only my other 60% WKL that I've had to tweak
For some reason I like the look of this layout
definitely not a full size right shift lol
thats a 1.75 u i believe
also no / or ?
Well standard size with arrow keys on a 60%/65%. Not full size right
nvm i see it ther e
with the MJ64 you get an extra key anyway
I keep that one around in case I need dedicates arrow keys
and you can remap right shift as well
I like being able to have all the convenient keys
Oh you're right. I'm blind as a bat, it's 6:45am here in Aus lol. So tha't the PCB you're buying, I think that layout looks quite good
haha
thank you i think it does as well
this looks sick btw
Mousepad reminds me Keith Haring
Im gonna try to make that caps lock key fit on my keyboard again
Thanks, horrible photo but its a special edition klippeT in soilid brass (I think only 20 made). Weighs like 8lbs. Keycaps are GMK Nines
for some reason it didnt want to
no way
I would get that thing cerakoted or whatever
you have a grail
Keyboard photography is so hard, especially with my iPhone Mini. Skill issue certainly doesn't help
just get some good lighting
Then it wouldnt be in original condition š
True. Here's a keyboard gallery to dive into, dude is a wizard https://markerchun.com/work
Definitely will get that one day
color grades putting in some work
I used to do photography for watches so I understand the challenge for something like a keyboard
Enter the Void
What companyās
Just my own collection of watches. let me see if I can find some photos
Awesome
That is a nice collection. I'm lowkey glad I'm not down the Watch rabbithole. Going broke in 2023 would be a disaster lol
Thats like a 1/3rd of the collection and good idea staying away lol
š
Very nice and good use of props too
does anyone have a problem when you tap your key it makes the key click and instantly unclick?
rapid trigger btw
it double clicks with one keystroke.
thats the purpose of rt just turn the sensitivity down
no i mean like
when i press down once
even while im
typing very lightly
it double, triple, even quadruples the input
ii think its justtt from my mod
ah
which is why i posted it in here instead of support
well support is better to get help
this is me typing a completely noormal sentence with no rrepeats
i suppose soo but they cant rreally find anything to help if it wass witth a mod
i was just seeing if others related to this and if it wwas noot justtt me

why is it getting worse
@sterile ivy what mods have u done
wootingg iin brrrutal60

so you have not mess with the pcb, switches, or like anything but tape and case swap
correct
ok give me moment
i have it on .5 and .3
the hell
how doo i do that
its in settings
done
ok now like type a few sentence
this is a new typing test after i reset my wooting keyboard
this is also with the lowest allowed rapid trigger settings
which is 0.1 and 0.15mm
wow this seems a lot better than it was before
LMAOOO
wait i am not sure if that actually fixed it i think i needed to re enable the rapid trigger
one for typing and one for gaming
what keys do you need to bind rapid trigger for
and when i holld down the hhold notes it automatically releaases which is not good
asl;
is what i need it for but it seems likee thats still reallly bad
then set the rapid trigger to thos specific keys
okay
and have it on the rapid profile
i want to do that but it still messes them up unfortunately
i mean it doesnt seem as bad but
llet me try playing a song
wdym by them
the keys
like all the keys?
they still double press
LMAO
not goood
what's the sensi
i think i need to just re faasten it
just change the upstroke sens
cause i just put it to the lowest and i had the same problem for a moment
mines at downstroke .15
upstroke .6mm
the big thing about osu is that u want to be able to move ur fingers really low and still hit the notes
im trying to proccess that
and it seems like i cant lmao
yeah it stilllllll has the problem lmfao
its fine
ill talk to my buddy ab it see if we can try a diff case

WTF
sorruy
sorruy
\
why does it do that when i press backspace
Not the answer you want to hear but some people have reported issues with tape mod causing this exact problem. Same with other easy mods like burger mount.
The test is to take the PCB out of the case, lay it on your desk and plug it in. See if the problem still happens. If yes, take the tape off and try again
Thanks!
I was wondering if there were any resources on how to drive the keyboard switches for a custom pcb. I can't seem to find anything, and I was wondering if its any different than driving a cherry switch?
Yes its different and you will not be able to manufacture a PCB to work with these switches
Ah okay, no worries, thanks for the info
that's nutty
oh dang that tented ergo case is still in the works
feel like discord messes up image resolution, anyone on a 1440p or higher monitor that can tell me how it looks?
Anybody know what screw the working pcb use?
I lost one
Been a few months haha
M2 5mm I think. Itās definitely m2 but not 100% on the 5mm
@short rune
how are the L45s
They're so freaking nice. I was using an Apex 9 TKL before this and was used to a lighter press, so the 60s felt weird to me.
Min 1 day atleast if you are new to
This was my first time lubing switches. Took about 3-3.5h.
Took my time and followed the Wooting video for the first couple then just turned on some tunes and went to work.
tbh these are the keycaps i plan to put on my wooting when I get it but idk what case to match it with
GMK Red Samurais
burgundy tofu redux
lemme take a look, ty
Would switch pads be okay to use? 0.5mm to be exact.
does the pom plate from smkey affect the lekker switch sensitivity much
I have a Pom plate and it doesnāt effect it one bit
are these also linear?
yes
I think it's a 4mm
Itās not that bad. I felt like I took whole Witcher season 3 for me to lube a tkl
Quick as hell
Oh no wonder ššššš
š
Takes me 6 hrs for me
Prob bc I have a preference
Yeah idk anything about the process
Iāll watch the Wooting video and learn once stuff arrives
Don't :)
Jk
U can
But I think the wooting lubing video is supposed for people who wants to lube their switches fasttt
Lol wot
Oh gotcha
Whatās different way?
Swirl the brush around entire spring inside and out?
Lol
I know nothing
That's one
Iāll be sure to get some perspective before diving in then. Thanks.
Interesting tho seems like people really feel the film helps with the sound
What??
That's what I heard
That's just not true.
Ayy don't look at me š
^^YO CHILL
It even has an "advanced" lubing process shown where Calder goes hard on the lube on all parts.
AAA
Then now you have an incentive to do so, since what you heard is being challenged

I think I should watch it for my own sake
Ima just-
Hop on youtoob and just have my white flag ready

I would watch it beforehand just to get an idea...then re-watch when you do the first few switches.
There were a number of different "advanced lubing techniques" shown in the video...not just lubing the stem. I lubed the stem and the top housing on all of mine. The video also covers lubing the bottom housing and the spring.

Yeah Iām not even sure what Iām going to lube yet. Lol l45ās and lube kit arrive this week tho
I might play around a bit before I full commit
Im a believer of the less is more philosophy when it comes to lubing. Its easier to add more lube than it is to remove lube and start over.
tbh ive been watching the lubing guide and other guides just to make sure I do it right
never lubed switches before
the absolute scariest part is your own fear
very true
its really not as scary as it seems, just take your time and dont rush it
you will do just fine
lekker switches are super easy to lube compared to standard mechanical switches
I've gotten less like nervous as ive just watched more guides bht
