i kinda like it stock case :d
you dont have to switch anycases actually little bit fantasy
but I want that case since january 😄
thanks for optimum tech :d
Looks ceramics, very nice
Is there a guide somewhere
idk how this would effect dye sub keycaps,so be carefull with those id only do this on double shot
just be careful with vapor from solvents itself 🙏🏻
they will look like that after 1 year anyway
After 6h of work on it (my first mods with tempest mod, lub all my switchs and wood case) I'm so proud of the result of my wooting !
looks great keeps. nice wooting and very clean desk
Thanks a lot !
Any case recommandation for the h60 ?
thats discontinued
Really ?
I think I will still find it on some Chinese market
anyone know where else to get switch springs? wooting is all sold out...
true mal we are about to sell a complete switch soon
so no loose springs anymore
oh :/ wouldnt that entail a higher pricing.. itd be nice to be able to still buy loose springs given, well, i dont really need more switches
we dont have info on the prices :/
Guys even after lub and change the case, it won't change the switch specifity like rapid trigger or something else right ?
it wont 🙂
unless you lube too much-
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:
https://region.wooting.store/products/lubrication-set-krytox-205g0-molykote-em-50l
:...
follow this :> I heard that overlubing makes it sound mushy and such
any keycaps recommandations ? for iso layout
Any ANSI layout keycaps
@gentle silo actually thank god i didnt buy those random GMK sets because
well, actually there were 2, but i bought it before doing ss
is there a list of compatible mods with the wooting? or does every mod work
im planning to mod tf outta my wooting
o-rings, foam, tape
and can films work on the lekker switches?
they work but i had trouble with ones that had the 'middle' connector like this
Do you recommend I film a switch? And did you solve the problem of having trouble with the ones that have the middle connector?
i just ended up using ones that dont have it like these , i would highly recommend it as at least for my batch of lekker switches they were extremely rattly and wobbly
i also ended up adding some medical tape in the top housing which imo helped more but it def changed the feel in a way i dont think a lot of people will be fans of
Alright, thanks for the advice!
np! gl modding ur board
Does the tachyon low latency mode still work with the coiled cable? I've read that it doesn't work with after market cables
Whoops, may need a higher strength mix 😬
Thats pretty cool.
Rip. Curious how well it will work being as thin as it is? Breaking seems inevitable
If handled with extreme care, the form will hold, but even with knocking on it with your knuckles would not be advised. I may have to consider a thicker bezel. Back to the drawing board! 👍
you can do basically every mod that you could do with a normal custom keyboard
What are you making it out of?
im not the biggest fan of Awaken but if you like it, go for it i guess.
It doesn't work with some. So you really have to research the cable first
What do I look for in the cable?
Reviews I guess. Cables usually don't say how much power they output
It's not about power but cable length and the gauge of the wires.
Won't tachyon mode still work, just not full RGB brightness?
Rule of thumb is that anything longer than our cable (coiled cables need to be unrolled to count their full length) could have issues with having Tachyon running while LED brightness is high, typically need to reduce it to 70% or so.
My man kezzie out here spreading misinformation
what gauge of wires gets used in the stock cable?
No idea.
You'd have to email us about that or ask on a livestream where Jeroen is present.
ok, maybe ill do dat
guys 60he left shift is 2.25U right?
2u
well depends on layout
Not for us it doesn't.
this image from the FAQ says 2.25U?
they didnt mention ansi or iso though
and ya its 2.25
iso is 1.25 as theres a 1u key next to it that ansi doesnt have
i got ansi
then 2.25
Oh ffs... my brain is thinking stabs.
Disregard me 😄
Yes - Refer to the images in the FAQ for keycaps.
haha alright
is a psd60 compatible with a 60he?
yesh!
looking for a case like this as well but one that ships easily to the Netherlands and without the big ass branding 😅
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003524133078.html psd60 clone without branding
or psd60re to be specific I guess
oh great thanks will order later today!!
Is poron more dense than the stock case foam that the wooting comes with?
yes, id say so from my experience. cant confirm it tho, dunno what foam the stock wooting uses
it's EPDM
aight then its sightly denser
love it as well that one ye, although I would forget some keys lol
after that image I've been trying to find some good quality caps with the characters on the side like this but can't find ones that have a nice simple typeface without icons (like "super" instead of windows icon etc)
Also keep in mind that you won't get as much LED brightness on side print.
Our LEDs are north facing.
ah ye that was actually one of the questions I had and wanted to double check thanks heh
I guess I will end up with black keycaps with either shine through or black lettering on the top (new to this don't know the correct terms lol). Now I only have to find ones that have a pretty typeface.
wish this new ABC Dinamo typeface could be on my keys for example https://abcdinamo.com/typefaces/rom
as a designer myself I just can't deal with the amount of ugly typefaces out there sometimes lol but personal preference ofc
is it possible with abit of modding of the kbdfans PC plate could it fit the wooting60he? https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMzkBN2
You'll need to make your own custom plate file
Luckily enough someone has made a plate file for a frog60he aka wooting in a frog mini
ik but I just want to know if modding it to fit is possible
have a question, is silicone oil ok for lubing springs?
@cloud plaza that’s a photo I found online lol, but I’m gonna do the same. Full black keyboard, everything you can think of.
It’s gonna look extremely similar to that.
Get some good quality blanks
I already bought some Amazon blanks lol
They should be fine they’re just blanks
Don’t need to be exceptional quality
I’m just waiting to get an RK61 Pro for cheap to paint the case and plate black
Then I can get some oil kings and do the build
60 bucks
Bitch tf I thought u were gonna cheap out on this
Ehhhh
That’s the only problem
I don’t think there’s another full black switch
You're not really gonna see the switches
And oil kings are also slightly translucent bottom
I have a cheap reccomendation tho if you want something full black and cheap
Please show me haha
Also why an rk61 pro
And the only reason I want those is because from side pictures you can still see the color of the switch
Because it’s aluminum case haha
Ok but that depends on the board
Still need it
It's a cheap Alu case tho
Gasket mount
Might as well get a 40 dollar alu board
It's not
It's tray mount
The rk61 pro isn't gasket
Screws from the bottom
Still tray mount
And that's definitely not gasket
The keyboard frame is made of full aircraft-grade aluminum with calculated CNC machining and cutting technology, and the keyboard weighs 2.59 lbs. Anodized aluminum technology is used to coat the keyboard housing with a dense layer of aluminum oxide, significantly improving its corrosion resistan...
And it’s cheap as shit
That’s disgusting
The RK61 Pro is still my pick lol
Send me that switch though I’m intrigued
No clear housings
Fyi your paint won't stick
If you want a good coating or color you need to anodize it
And what about the plate? If you can see the switches from the side then you can see the plate as well, which you'll also need to paint
Why don't you just get a black keyboard to begin with?
good luck 😎
And the only thing similar to what I want is the HHKB blank black
Which would not result in something that feels premium
It would just feel like a cheap coating of paint
Look realistically speaking what's your actual budget and how much have you spent
20 bucks on blanks
And the rest...
Nothing
What's your budget
You haven't actually told it
Get a bakeneko
The coating is high quality, there's 2 different types of black coloring
And it's 130 dollars but the value is there
For the switch you can go for something budget like the jwick blacks
Concrete! 👍
i got the jwick blacks but the tactiles
they got an aqua stem which i hate
Oil kings are my pic
pick*
I'm typing on blanks right now lol
I forced myself to touch type using them lol
My oil kings came in yesterday, and they're amazing!
please show pictures
I'll post later today! At work 😆
Oil kings are linears.....
Now how to get the Lekkers to sound like the Oil Kings 🤔
I know lol
Then why not jwick?
You cant, end of story
youre so pessimistic bro
Tf u mean
I'm being realistic, they literally are made from different materials
doesnt hurt to try
Ok how tho
Let's see if you can magically replace the material in the bottom AND top housings of the lekker switches.... With the oil kings that uses completely different materials
dont care
It's like someone asking if they can turn tactiles into linears
Bro u were the one who brought it up
I can, gimme some krytox 205g0
hey any advice for a case around 100 euros ?
no i didnt lol
Fun fact that doesn't make them sound the same
I will
You said "no need to be pessimistic"
I agree, the reality is that it's surely not possible to make a drastic modification, but the concept of experimenting within reason is worthwhile
And so will @shell geode
See, he agreed with me
The most u can do is probably swap the top with cherry
U will what?
he basically said it doesnt hurt to try but using bigger words
Also do u want some other switches or what?
It's okay to be a bit pessimistic, but also curious
Do what I want and make my dreams come true
yea
seen the black jwicks
You can be curious but u should be realistic
Yes definitely
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! Rp115,669 39%OFF | G-Square Dark Warrior White Samurai Dreamland 42g Linear Tactile HP Switch for Mechanical Keyboard 5 Pins GK61 Anne Pro 2
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPPXL6y
It's frankly imposible to make a lekker sound like oil kings
whats this
You are right, they're entirely different
Very new but very good
well if you buy a factory and creat new custom moldes...
You cant
Oil kings have a secret recipe only gateron knows
Also even with the same materials if you don't outsource it from the same manufacturer or supplier it would sound different
that was a joke if you didnt notice...
but what if i buy gateron the company?
While we know that it isn't feasibly possible, the fact of the matter is that he can use many different materials, modifications, cases, and etc. He has gone as far as making a silicone pour of a Poseidon 60 aluminum case. So, I trust that @shell geode will do something that will blow our minds.
I'm currently in a bit of a "why doesn't this guy hear logic" kinda mood so I currently cannot be joked with, sorry it went over mu jead
I'm certain Gateron has experimented on the Lekkers numerous times before finalizing on the current design, so there may have been a version in between
That wouldn't be making the switches sound like each other
all good, no one got hurt lol
You give me too much credit 😆
That would make the board sound different
Fyi boards make most of the sound not switches, however when put in the same keyboard those said switches will sound different
Hes not trynna replicate the exact sound the switch makes my brother
he just wants to replicate a good sounding switch
Also tf is "isnt feasibly possible" it's not that it's impossible
The debate started when he said "can I make lekker switches sound the same as oil kings"
Why? For being correct?
for taking stuff too literally
Sorry I've been taking stuff too literal because you keep spewing bullshit
haha
Now get the dark square tactiles and bakeneko so we can get along with this
Could you use aliexpress?
So no tactiles?
no, to be honest
Before I chose Oil Kings, I was considering Black Ink V2s as well
I'm guessing you don't want trash switches because of their stem?
what would constitute a trash switch
anything that fucking works, but no clear housing bullshit
That's the name
is there anything similar to oil kings aesthetically
trash switches
So like full black?
There's the jwk h1
Wait u can only use Amazon?
im not trynna wait too long
Fuck that changes alot of my options that I gave you then
Does that mean you can't get a bakeneko?
I like it but i dont like that the usb comes out the middle
Ah ok....
Is there a way to make the software for the wooting keyboards work if you put the lekker switches in another keyboard?
sorry if i worded that poorly lol
No
aight i'll be sticking to what i have then, don't think theres a point in having that functionality if you can't really use it
if only wooting would make uhmwe stems
the wat
think ptfe but far more durable
wooting switches are smooth enough that not the problem with them
hey anyone have experience putting the wooting 60he in a freebird60 case
arent exactly the greatest
they can sound pretty good
but pom tends to be the go to
i recently did that and seems like the usbc cable is loose? like if i tilt my kb it will disconnect
fair point, maybe gateron will release something in the future... idl love a full pom "lekker" switch
doesnt impact ingame use but dont think i had this issue in the stock case
the lekker switch for what it is sounds pretty good
but as always, there's improvements
would be nice to see wooting implement some of them in the future
I think they where supposed to have new batches around the 4th of june right ?
true, a high end board with a high end sounding switch would be dope
I might just get a 12 pack just to test them out, almost everyone seems really positive about them
the 45g switches? isnt the onlz difference the spring?
not sure actually, I think you can buy springs seperate anyway so if it bothers me I just put in the other springs
no, the seperat springs wont return, only switches will be for sale
ah, fair. I am usually not that sensitive to weight anyway I found out, mostly just do gaming anyway not a whole lot of typing comparitively.
so weight is less of an issue I think to where you really want that "typing feel"
and could also get other springs that are more or less meaty depending on what i think of them
@shell geode did you ever end up heatshrinking your stabs? Or could you not find the right size
I finally got some small stuff and tried it and I think I need to take it off due to how tight they are lol. Not the stock stabs but FL CMMK v3s. Thinking I should’ve just lubed them 😂
I did! I had to recut since it was too long and shrunk, but also found out it was a really tight fit, so I ended up taking them off. I would have liked to try the silicone housing route like the set Wuque Studio has, but they aren't plate mounted. I just want the inserts 😭
does anyone know if the wooting 60he fits in a ducky one 3 mini case?
Oh those are very interesting. Once I take off the tubing I’m gonna try Teflon tape to see if I can get that to deaden the ping a bit but otherwise I’m probably just gonna go with lube for stab modding (although I do have pads on the pcb as well)
someone knows how long does it take for candykeys to complete an order?
anyone knows if the wooting 60he fits in the ducky one 3 mini case, it is compatible with the one 2 mini but im not sure about the one 3 mini
aye would this case fit the 60he? https://www.dhgate.com/product/resin-light-case-keyboard-case-milk-shell/726149113.html
could you edit your link everything after .html can be removed. those are trackers
ight
yea i wanted one of those but they are out of stock
Seeing as they share the same screw mounts, it should fit the same as the Mini 2 👍
Used to have a Dr. Zaber Sentry with a 1080 in it, but since the 30 series, it's tough to do super small form-factor with a high end gpu
Yeah. Have a few cases. Nr200, meshlicious, Formd t1.
Sigh, ordered Krytox GPL 205 G0 from amazon, and did not get the real deal...
I am, just not a fan of the mobo pricing :p
I generally find myself going for MATX these days since the mobo is cheap and I can still save on space a little bit. I only go for ITX builds if there is a good deal on the mobo when I'm building
Hey y'all I've got my wooting 60he for a week and have some problems with it. I lubed the stabs but everything's still rattling😥 I've noticed (didn't lube the switches myself yet) that the switches have some wiggle room in the socket. And that the stem itself has wiggle room while pushing slightly down. Does anyone have the same problem?😊
And most importamt, a solution?😅
Stock stabs?
Yeep
Can try clipping them and see if it helps. I use the little adhesive strips with poron and put them underneath the stabs. Alternatively buy some durock/everglide plate mount stabs
Lekkers are fairly loose. Some batches worse than others. You can try switch films if the top housing is too loose. If the switch wobbles in the actual plate, you could try wrapping small pieces of electrical tape around the edges of the wholes
If the stem itself is too loose, you could try wrapping some tiny pieces of medical tape around the edges of the top housing hole (just start with the left and right edges I think) but that wouldn’t solve wobble as you press down
Also when you lubed the stabs what did you use?
205g0 everywhere or did you use a thicker grease for the wires?
Well thought about that but I don't really know if thats gonna work since it has to be right on the plate.
I think some people have applied electrical tape and it’s been fine. Can always try it with one switch and if it causes issues just remove it
For the housings yeah, for the wires dielectric grease.
true
AFAIK tho most people don’t have problems with wobbling in the plate. Might be something to open a ticket in #1019755933959733258 about
Thought about that too but tbh I think it's the stem / switch.
Hmm. The stock ones are apparently comparable to durocks so idk if you’ll be able to upgrade much. Although if your switches are rattling in the plate the stabs might also be slightly loose
hmm Stabs seem fine, comparing it to other keyboards
Yeah will probably do I guess
Thanks!
No problemo
I think the only ones that are compatible with the lekker switches are the ones that Wooting uses themselves
yeah they are sold out thooo
thankfully they sell 30cN springs on their site
oh I see
30 cn ?
: o
the default ones are 60cN
yeah I am pretty sure that I've heard in Optimum Tech's video (or someone else's) that aftermarket springs aren't compatible
yes
checked gateron website but they dont got anything
sadga
went from a 50cn to 60 cn is big difference for sure feels way hard to push
yeah the difference is -17%
according to mansen, it was the last restock of the 50cn, as they're going to be releasing a 45cn version soon
I looked at the bottom of the PCB and it seems like one of the standoffs (top left) of the PSD60 comes unconfortably close to an SMD component on the board. Does anyone haave any issues with it?
also has anyone been able to find lekker compatible films?
Oh sweet
Starting to get use to the 60 gram after few hours but still it's way more fatiguing forsure feels less responsive than my old board
Thanks tho will keep eye out
i've personally used the 50cn as I thought it would be more suitable for me since i preferred something lighter than 60cn
ironically i felt it was too light for me and decided spend another 3 hours to swap back to 60cn
after being on it for a month or so
i’m sure you’ll learn to appreciate the 60cn for what it is, as i believe it strikes a nice balance for all instances of usage
Howdy friends, is there any information I'm missing about modding a Wooting One? Thanks.
personally, i felt that the 50cn lacked the “tactility” and snappy rebound of the 60cn, and was only beneficial in gaming
I searched through the FAQ but information seems focused on the 60HE.
Fair enough yeah I game only pretty much but definitely prefer lighter switch 😅
i even prefer the 60cn over the 50cn in gaming, since you don’t have as much control over short actuation and rapid trigger
but if you’re still inclined to get a lighter switch just wait for the 45cn when it releases
Fair enough yeah I just find it fatiguing to use the heavier springs mostly play dota so going 60 mins sometimes of constant pressing of buttons feels worst forsure
what switches did you use before?
they bottom out at 50?
Must probably
Looks like they 35 gf lmfao
That's a lot more 😂
35 gram actuation force
So yeah nvm alot different
It's almost double what ive been using
35 grams is simply where the key will actuate
it’s different from bottom-out which is where the key is fully pressed and making contact with the top housing
wooting’s 60cn means a 60cn bottom-out
so you’re looking at about a 10g difference
Ooo
@mental hemlock Here are the Oil Kings! The F row has Milky Yellows, which are my personal favorites that I like to compare new switches to
It sounds so good
I still need to break them in too! Hoping they sound better down the road. Definitely worth getting 👍
why did i react with hearts twice
get your 8 hours of sleep at the best time guys
dont be like me
sounds great!
Thank you! 🙏
was looking back to this message, and yes i know ten days thats crazy
but I do believe this actually works
the raised standoffs shouldnt interfere the pcb so it should be fine
I want a custom
no, you want a wooting
no wooting money
good prices
not sure if a keyboard hobby should be a good time right now lol
why
it can get pricey
im not scared
got my case and keycaps before i even got my wooting 🙂
When's your Wooting coming in?
now is a better time then ever, switches, good cases and keycaps are in stock 90% of the time. Its way cheaper then lets say 2-3 years ago
Sorry I was referring to no money = no hobby
yes, no money = no fun
do switch films still effect magnet sensing offset?
The laws of physics haven't changed. So I'd assume so.
theoredically they should, it can create some issues on 0.1 actuation for some.
is there a way that wooting would allow for a way to offset the range of the hall-effect sensing so as to accomodate switch films?
The offset isn't the issue, the wobble would be.
because i'm looking to film my switches with 0.15mm films and i don't know if i want to make that compromise
A film is essentially padding, which means the switch will move around slightly.
well you just set you actuation up by 0.1mm and problem fixed
That being said, I do believe Tirade tested some films that didn't interfere. I assume he might have made notes over in #🪛│modding_faq
so switch films would act as a buffer between the position of the magnet under the stem and the sensor on the motherboard
so if the switches did happen to be offset by a distance greater than 0.1mm, a 4.0 actuation wouldn't work yeah?
that's true, but we all love pretty solutions 😢
true aswell lol, i got my switches filmed and im also using a custom plate wich is 0.1mm to thick, so idk where my issues originate from tbh. ive heard from others that filing the swithces didnt create issues for the tho.
what did you have issues with exactly?
actuation and rappid trigger on the lowest possible settings, my inputs got cut off sometimes/wobble deactivated the switch
but as said im also running a custom plate
the plate is supposed to be 1.5mm thick yeah?
but you said your custom one is 1.6mm?
yes it doesnt bother me as 0.1 was to low/fast for me anyways. 0.3 actuation and 0.2 rapid trigger seems to be the sweetspot for me
which films did you use?
correct, im running an fr4 plate. fr4 plates get made just like pcbs thats why there isnt an option for 1.5mm
im not using the poron version, i got the pc ones 1.5mm
did you get poron films or pc films
ah
okay
i'd have to see if filming switches creates a visible gap compared to a non-filmed switch
if i remember i can send you a pic of one of my switches later when im home. but yea filing usually lifts up the top housing to reduce the tollerances so theoredically the bottom out is still the same
but the stem rests against the top housing, so if it's lifted the magnet would be offset, yeah?
got confused for a sec lol yes you are right XD
another thing that i've heard is that apparently the keyboard is recalibrated every time it's plugged in
but i'm not sure if that has anything to do with adjusting offset
it just clicked, what did you mean by the wobble?
Does the plate from the HIBI case work with wooting?
-no- plates work with the 60HE. You'll need to fabricate or mod one.
Damn
No, hibi plate is WKL / HHKB layout
I had a kbdfans 5° before, and i like this sound better
But I tend to prefer plastic over metal sound in keebs
Yeah thinking I’m gonna sell my bg60 for it
If anyone in this discord wants to buy it and skip Chinese shipping times hmu lmao
I also love how the edges are thicker
Looks very nice
Note that this is a stone table and it will def sound different on other surfaces
i'm not sure if this applies to lekker switches
but i have a comparison between the height of a non-filmed and a filmed switch
on the left is a filmed zyko frankenswitch
right is non-filmed
well there is a physical objet between top and bottom housing ofc there will be a difference
call me insane for actually testing this out
right one looks taller
i'm saying that the image kinda contradicts it since both switches are like the same height...
and that the height difference could be attributed to tolerances in the housings and not the films maybe
despite the left one being filmed
and the right one not being filmed
true ig, mybe the films just "fill up" the tollerances?
that's what i'm imagining
do you think you can do this same test with the lekkers? i had two switches stand on their stems side by side
and had my phone camera on the table zoomed in
ill do a comparison when im home
ill also measure them with calipers and stuff to see if theres a difference maybe
i don't even have calipers, that's a bonus
the desperate lengths i go to give myself peace of mind

its hearable, and noticably tighter
Depends on the individual switch tho yeah?
i love the 2hz pitch difference with my switches films
yeayea, my board is from a pretty early batch, maybe they refined the molds a bit, but i got some housing wobbl on mine
Oh shit I have that too
so i tought, if i already pay a shit ton of money for my other mods i might aswell invest the 10€/1 hour and do it properly
Here's the thing tho - the switches are larger than the usual switch
So the films won't fit
its a bit finicy, but with tx stlyle files you can film them, the ones from WuqueStudio work even better. you kinda gotta twist them on. lay them on sideways and turn them
Bruh that is some jank
works quiet well actually, took me a few minutes to get used to but i got all done within an hour
I noticed with my switches the wobble is quite inconsistent
yea some are tight, some arent
The first switch I pulled out had a good bit, the next one had none
I do wonder if/how it affects feel/sound tho... does it only affect the experience when you're typing at an angle or smth?
Cause usually you'd go pretty much straight down on the switch... Or does the spring cause the rattle when it jumps back up?
the loose housing can creat some noise on the bottomout afaik, most of the time you actually dont press down perfectly straight
loos top houseing can also make a sound when the spring "snaps back up"
Aren't they mutually inclusive?
I can't remember if it's ex or inclusive
Anyway it's the space between the top and bottom housing that causes the rattle right? So you can't say it's only the bottom or only the top no?
true ig
But yeah I mean if there are some films that can be worked with, I'd totally do it
Does any one no what Wooting keycap sizes are? Are they OEM? And does any no of any low profile key caps with side print?
All of our keycaps except for the 5sided dye sub take control keycaps are OEM.
yep, as said the ones form WuqueStudio work best so far. They arent 100% perfect tho as they are still made for "regular" switches
But better than the wooble ig?
yes, i can maybe try to show of the wobble difference when im at home
You'd wanna film all the switches even tho some of them don't wobble yeah?
thats atleast what i did
And even the tight ones can close?
did you already lube your switches?
I lubed 2/3
in my experience they get a bit looser after opening once or twice. for me all switches were able to close
cool cool
What are some wooting cases that are currently in stock I can get?
any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Hard to say - Depends on your location and timing. This chart gives you the options, and then you'll just have to apply some google and see.
Submit or request a review of a case by adding a comment or posting on discord
thank you very much!
Im thinking about buying a new keycap set but im not sure if it is compatible with my wooting he60. This is the set i wanna buy.
Red Oni Dragon Keycap Set (KEYCAPS ONLY) -Legendary Custom Dye Sublimation Keycap Set -Comes in Size of your Choice! -Alpherior OEM Profile -FULL SIZE NON Standard Includes all keys to fit unique Keyboard Layouts. If it does not fit please contact support and we will cover Return Shipping! IN STOCK & SHIPPING
I remember someone on here posted these similar keycaps at wooting setups and from Alpherior keys
So should work
ANSI keyboard? Yes. In spite of their really shitty incomplete product photos.
ISO? No.
okay thank you. They dont really make the best pictures xd
Oh thx😅
curious questions.
i’ve got all my lube and tape ready to mod as soon as i get my wooting keyboard.
- i’ve heard the switches are sometimes loose will this affect anything?
- will 105g0 be good for the springs (as this is what i bought for springs)
- will 205g0 be good for switches and stabs?
- with tape mod i’ve tape modded other keyboards before so biggie with that. any other cheap mods to do for wooting that’ll make it sound better?
- will get better case and keycaps once i get paid in 2 weeks so dw about suggesting that
any help will be greatly appreciated
i heard quite a lot of people do burger mount
other thing is that big o-ring around the entire pcb
@gentle silohttps://geon.works/products/switch-films?variant=43053442695331
Bro
Wouldn't this switch film work?
TX could work as well ig
i did see that thanks will look into it :)
yes, i haven testen th geon films yet but heard good things about then.
tx works aswell.
TX and Wuque seem prety similar. TX might be slightly better since it looks more spacious inside
But the Geon ones
no wuque works better from what ive hard, id like to test the geon ones, but i aint paying 20€ just for shipping
Yeah I'm looking at other sites that offer the Geon to see if anything's cheaper
Keebsforall was tryna charge me $60 for shipping a $6 order

58$ for me lol
newb question again but anyone know if this is a good price? looking for black on black PBT keycaps with a 'super' instead of windows key that ship to the Netherlands but harder find then I thought https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005131574398.html
it seems kinda impossible to get them in eu
There's also the matter of import tax and handling fees if it's coming from outside the EU...
Could easily double the price in a nasty surprise
i dont see any material specifications or anthing how the legends are made. could be hit or miss
true, ive found these, but they are the foam variant https://www.eloquentclicks.com/product/geon-switch-foam-films/
my guess would be either abs or pbt dyesub, just from how the legended look
thats the thing, due to the "non standard" switch sizing it would most likely be a pain to install those
xr60 case with mechkeys rinko keycaps
so id try to stick to pc, but if you want to try it i wont stop u 🙂
ye also for that price. found these as well there which says pbt and are more pricey https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005004898765941.html
yea, exact same product pictures, prolly getting resoled on ali. most likely originate somewhere on taobao
This guy tried poron film on a different board: https://youtu.be/OKpq-SJbrNU
I couldn't find a good comparison on the Monstargears switch films, so I recorded them myself for my future purchases.
I personally like PORON the best because it has the deepness and the marbliness. (Is marbliness a word?)
As for the stem wobble, I couldn't find the difference between the three.
Link to Monstargears switch films
https://www.mo...
this is going to my first time modding something but really such a dense space to navigate when you start out heh
its alot easier these days to get into the hobby luckily, there are many resources and stuff available + stuff is actually in stock.
fuk it, ill just oder them lol, got tx style, the wuque and then these films lol
true true, although with reddit going dark it's hard, hopefully that will be over soon
r/mk is online again
ah great
3€ vat + 9€ shipping
gonna search for some other stuff to order there aswell lol
bruh you can buy spacebar foam there
Never seen this before. I thought people just used museum putty?
3.5, 6, or 9.5mm
yea thats a thing, ended up not getting anythen else, just the films for 20€
I was considering grabbing the wooden wrist rest
im not really a wristwrest user
ive used it and its nice but i use a resin spacebar now which sounds much nicer
and much more expensive
price is fine, still expensive for 1 keycap.
not really 20 usd for a handcrafted full spacebar is pretty good
that included shipping
is it handcrafted tho?
yes
@fickle vector did you get your keyboard case already?
Nah not yet
Hey folks, what lube do you recommend for stabilizers? I'm looking to reduce the sound as much as possible
i use 205g0 for housings and wires. but for the wires something thicker like dielectric grease can be better.
or maybe even something like Molykote
I wanted the Molykote em-50l, but impossible to find locally
then dielectric greas maybe, only for the wires tho for the housings i prefer 205g0
but tbh, i personally do everything with 205g0
so you do that for wires and housings ? 😄
yea
what's the difference between using the same or a different one ?
thechnically something thicker on the wires wouldnt "slide" off as much when putting them in afaik. but ive never bother to order extra lube for that as it just costs more money. i just dunk my wires into the lube and thats mostly it lol, not the most enconomically as lube in general is expensive, but ive got enought and dont build keyboards all the time.
Ok, so probably being a bit less generous in the lube application will help in not having it everywhere lol?
yea, there are great lubing/tuning guide on yt for stabs. in my experience tho, the wooting stabs actually sound pretty decent and come generously lubed already
What pcbs are compatible with the default wooting case? I wanna put a hotswap one in there for another build
Only one way to find out.
lol thanks, yep did not need extenders. Persoanlly needed longer screws for the burger mount though, just couldn't get it to thread with the stock screws. Finished up the build last Saturday, I have a full build breakdown ready to post. Just waiting for the Reddit CEO to resign first LMAO
I think most pcbs will fit, ive tested with a dz60 so as long as the dimensions are similar it should fit
Plates can be another issue tho
For those wondering if the XVX Low Profile keycaps work on the 60HE, I used the Skyline version. (sorry for the low quality pictures lol).
Does brass and rubber keycaps are quieter than other types of keycaps ?
rubber yes
any rec on a case for it? Also anyone know any release date news on the wooting case?
https://mekanisk.com/products/fjell-keyboard-case-only and https://mekanisk.com/products/klippe-t-keyboard-case-only are good ones, but expensives
Fjell is our acclaimed heavyweight 60% mechanical keyboard design, introduced in 2017. With a distinct design language and exceptional sound properties, Fjell is one of our most popular designs. Made from a combination of aircraft-grade aluminium and brass, this keyboard has a weight of 2kg, providing a solid and stabl
Klippe T is our high quality, clean and affordable keyboard chassis. Borrowing its mounting from the well known Fjell, it has great sound and typing properties. It’s a safe choice when you want a simple design, with great sound and fantastic color options. In the box Klippe T Keyboard Chassis with all mounting hardwar
Not brass keycaps?
The unbranded tofu60 clone for 95€ from aliexpress
at 95E, for the price difference I would get a Klippe T 😬
Depends on the country
For germany e.g. you can add another 60€ for shipping and possible taxes.
does, anyone have any cool color ways for the 60he that they would like to share
how has the build held up with the switches? like do you still use those keycaps on the board and do you notice the added weight is a negative? or
should i bag lube or will the springs get stuck together
what site should I buy keycaps on
I just bought aluminium keycaps, to try it out lol
Has anyone tested putting 2 o-rings ? I tested with 1 and 2, and it looks like the sounds is more low frequency with 2 than 1
i bought extra wooting springs just incase the cerakeys were too heavy but i never felt like i needed to swap out the stock springs. they work great. the only issue i have is one keycap pops off the switch when i type but luckily theres extras in the kit. might just be a bad batch for me
wouah, ceramic keycaps? How do they feel and sound ?
they definitely sound better than stock to me. deeper sound profile. i can tell qc is a problem since ceramic is harder to work with. wouldnt say its worth the price but its a nice gimmick if you like the look and sound
They get entangled a bit but you can separate them quiet nicely
Added a bonding adhesive to the mix this time, expecting to be a much stronger hold. Also added a bit of charcoal dye to make it darker, should be a bit lighter when it dries. Also making a keycap mold for a future resin project!
Any link ?
https://www.cerakey.com/
these were the ones i got
https://youtu.be/KWD04lvpjhU
i also enjoyed keybored's review on it but there's lots of other great ones
Cerakey makes handmade ceramic keycaps with charming look, smooth finish, crisp sound and cold touch, if you are an enthusiast for custom and niche mechanical keycaps, then go and find us! all of our products will be shipped from China within 21 days.
#Keybored #mechanicalkeyboard I put CERAMIC Keycaps onto a Keyboard and this happened...
So the Owlabs Spring is a thocky keyboard to start. But what happens if you take a set of Cerakey Ceramic Keycaps and put it on this? Well... it destroys the internets. Maybe tt doesn't. But you get some insane sounds out of it. Check it out!
Check ou...
out of curiosity what key cap pops off?
& do you have the 17g spacebar or the OG 34g spacebar
oh right but you're using an artisan spacebar, probably because even 17g is too heavy or?
'A key' since i use wsad a lot for games. it popped out twice until i decided to swap them out. havent had a problem since then but pretty bummed out by the qc
got it yeah makes sense. did it come with any extras or you just swapped that key to another set
i havent tried the stock spacebars but ive seen reviews saying the spacebar is too heavy for some light switches so i bought artisans ahead of time
it came with extras but i swapped it for another key for now since im trying to figure out if its the switch or the keycap
They work for the 2he as well?
Those look really sick by the way
do NOT under any circumstances buy cerakeys if you wish to maintain your sanity
they will genuinely damage your switches
gimme a sec I'll show you
Let's see
These are my aluminium keycaps I got
after using cerakeys
as you can see my ctrl switch is f***ed and keycaps don't fit on it tightly any more
and these are all my Cerakey vids...
they suck
so bad
before using cerakeys the stock Wooting had 0 issues
keycaps fit tightly
THE LAST VIDEO IS PAIN
yeah, do not buy cerakeys

I absolutely love the feel, love the material
I wouldn't even mind if they just fit badly
but they genuinely messed up some of my switches
ty, they should work on the 2HE yes, you can buy keycaps from xvx in different amounts, i bought a kit that had 144 keys so enough options for a 60% keyboard and full sized ones.
oh and the advice that the Cerakey team gave me was to use tape so the keycaps fit tighter...
WTF!!!!!
ironically the tape would also have prevented their inevitable destruction of my switches
I left the server a long time ago lol
Looks like you have to have 2 sets of switches
Thanks! I’m really looking forward to seeing what I can do mod wise. I’ve always been interested in all this, so now I have toy to play with 😂
like long-term if I was using Cerakeys (I got them in Dec) by now I'm guessing most of my switches would be unable to support any keycaps lmao
that last video was painfull lol
luckily I took them off after a month of trying
One for cerakeys and one for other keycap sets
@hollow anchor it was pretty hard to watch
yeah, I keep seeing Cerakey vids and ppl saying they're amazing but their QC is terrible
Oh my
maybe they've improved a ton but the most they offered me was a refund
despite messing up some of my switches
Pain
I wouldn't discount ceramic as a whole, I do think it's an amazing material but the fitment is bad and if they literally wear down your stems it's just an L
That really sucks because they ain't cheap
that being said, aluminium 🔛 🔝
Have you tried them?
I have them on right now
You seem to have the light ones. Are they more white or silver, and how shiny?
I sent a vid earlier of how the ctrl keycap doesn't fit properly because cerakeys messed up my switches
luckily the aluminium ones are super tight compared to even an average keycap so it's not a major issue
but yeah, if you guys have the budget and are looking for premium non-plastic keyboard materials go for aluminium
I've tried ceramic and aluminium and it's not even close
You mean alu keys are better than ceramic keys?
they're so beautiful, tons of pics on their Disc server
yup 100% better
they have their own custom profile too so they feel really satisfying to type on
Nice I'll skip cera keys for sure then
I'd like the alu keys to have a blank version tho
Then I'll get them
they have blanks too
here's a pic of someone else's
(not a Wooting btw I haven't seen any pics of Wootings with these keycaps outside of mine)
What are these Home Row Style and Markings?
so for the 60HE you want a base kit and a space row addon
home row style is asking if you want notches on F and J keys
@marble shuttle look at those aluminum keys
and the markings are the legends, so blanks = no legends
AHA
I'd love to get them, but they are quite expensive and I can't decide which color. I'm afraid the light ones are too grey for my liking
@elder trout lol
in addons -> space row you want type 1
@elder trout I imagined the custom taxes
HAHAHAHAHAHA @marble shuttle
Mr. Metalkeyboard is working on coloured ones
I'm getting an orange set :3
@elder trout probably will cost like 240hz oled asus monitör
I think because there's so many different spacebar row setups
but for the 60HE it's just base kit + spacebar row type 1
Is the spacebar in the base kit too long for 60he?
base kit doesn't come with spacebars etc, just the alphanumerical keys
and like
[],./;'
like it comes with the top 4 rows basically
hey u gotta talk to the owner about that I'm just doing some impromptu marketing
their Discord is https://discord.com/invite/dS4grvq
there's a #color-box channel in there for stuff regarding getting coloured caps @tiny cape
HAHAHAHA
he's a funny guy LOL
Seems like it 😂
bro what
if you are interested in copping def msg him or msg the server, I cannot recommend them enough
maybe it's just because I had such a garbage experience with Cerakey but in comparison these caps are Godsent
How much heavier are they compared to normal PBT keys?
honestly they don't feel so heavy
only the spacebar was noticeably heavy
even then it's totally usable
hmm def interested in this as well looks cool
I can't join their server :/
I'll try tomorrow
Invite expired
@placid blaze where can i get the ctrl + win + alt + menu + fn keys? The ANSI keys don't include them? Or am I blind?
I don't see them in the add-ons either
Ohhhh they're in the spacebar set
Got it
yeah, so spacebar set and it's type 1
weird, try this one https://discord.gg/eNj7UUnQ
yeah that's odd ngl but for sure I'd say the best way to get info r.e. the kits, colour options etc. is worth getting from Metal himself
@marble shuttle if i get klippe t + alu keys, my wooting 60he would have a grand total of $900 including import taxes HAHAHAHA
What is life
@elder trout oh man this taxes going to kill us
literally if paid that shit my mother will kill me
HAHAHAHA
That would be my father for me, that's why I don't tell him anything :p
But he's more chill now
If he could have it his way, I would never buy anything
Control freak
But i think this would be my endgame build
That's it I'm done HAHA
my mother can see all payments I have to cancel that 😄
$900 and I'm good
My father used to monitor my spendings too and it was ridiculous
But now he's more chill
@marble shuttle but it's still better to purchase yourself and pay import taxes. Because if a local vendor imports premium products, they take 100% profit. Like finalmouse and angrymiao are double the price sold by local vendors
I was lucky to get my fm tenz at MSRP second hand
Hello I have a question. If I want to change the springs in the switches do I need to buy the springs that are on the wooting website or can I just switch out the springs with the ones from my steelseries apex 9 mini?
Crap. I'm waiting on my order. Hopefully they improved by now, but thanks for the heads up I may test them on an old switch before trying them on the Lekkers
they are differently sized and need to be non magnetic.
Highly doubt it since the apex uses optical switches with a smaller stem aaand more important: likely magnetic springs that interfere with the lekker hall sensor
I mean if you just aPpLy tApE then they may not destroy your keycaps
I was an Indiegogo backer and received mine in Dec, they've had half a year to change up and improve but my experience was genuinely awful
What is the lube that's on the 60HE stabs from the factory?
Is it the same molykote lube as in the kit?
Specs Case: Aluminum Weight: Brass, surface sandblasted process Structure: Tray-mount Compatible with most 60% PCB, including DZ60 rev3.0, DZ60 RGB-ANSI, DZ60RGB V2 PCB, Wooting 60 PCB, etc. Weight bar: ~1156g Typing angle: 7 degree Comparison with Tofu60 1.0 Sandblasted brass weight is added internal, the weight is in
Tofu60 v1 is back bitchesss
thanks for sharing ❤️
Its from the wooting sub on reddit
Surely they didn’t start production again because of the wooting
Probably did lmao
Fr
The demand is high
most likely, the current 'waitlist' for the v1 is like 800+ ppl
watch it grow over the next few days and weeks
Yea when I saw it I was almost certain that was the reason
sheesh, internal weigth, removable standoffs, this is a dream for the wooting lol, maybe the tray mount market willl have some competition
How many people here did bother with custom keebs before getting their wooting
I for sure didn’t
Isnt the Klippe t just a much better version then the tofu 60? or was that all copium for the tofu 60 being "discontinued"
If you scroll down, they have a video about razer copying wooting? HAHA
i also see mounting posts for an oring mount there
Idk I think tofu is just a solid option
not really they are basicallly the same
I dont know about the klippe t, but i am not willing to pay 250€ for a case
Also the tofu was a mainstream case before all of that
yess, they even replaced the horrible tofu stock feet
whats the tofu priced?
old one was roud about 100 i think, imma guess this one will ber 120
I bought my original one for 116$
Oh i thought it was about 8x usd
Maybe 120-150$ max
oof, probably gonna be a lot more if u live in europe right?
VAT T.T
Maybe we should start a group buy to save on the shipping
nah 150 would be to close to the v2, id say 140 max
where is kbdfans based? if its america its gg cause of shipment costs
yes my keyb is getting shipped rn, arrived at DHL 🙏
Original tofu didn’t have the brass weight and it was already 120$, I would say it would be closer to 140
niceee
they are based in china, aliexpress shipping from them is like 4$
Its much more affordable now
I might suggest keycult? As an alternative?

nahh im like whenever i do stuff like this it has to be something rlly good
cant go half way man
Yea thn a keycult case would be perfect
@velvet shuttle im the same way, im telling myself i do not need the Fjell but all i want is the Fjell lmfao
so true, when i got in, it was way more expensive, and way less in stock/resources available
In all seriousness I would never pay that much
Agreed
Also the options were limited
salvation looking at you
i was looking into keyboard modding and stuff like a year ago and from what ive seen its been SUPER BAD for europeans especially.
especially if u look for ISO layouts
Wait till you see brazil based ppl

its been fine actually. sure alot of stuff doesnt ship here, but alot of shops have startet to buy stuff up and resellll them here for a small premium
i think brazil ppl have other problems
iso as is, isnt that bad, but if you want a country specific one its game over or -200$
yea to be honest i kinda wanna go from german to uk iso but then i have a german iso at work and on my laptop still, i dont think i wanna do that
or y and z
did that literally a week ago, the y and z swap still fuck me up
is uk = ascii ?
thats way easier actually
i think uk is almost the same as us ansi but with big enter and some other sizes?
big enter and 1 extra key
yes but imagine i code at home with it and then go to work with the shit german keyboard
yea, that fucked, it currently like that for me lol
i think i will just wait for ansi us/uk iso until I have an international job
Lifes to short to use shitty keebs or mouse for work
gotta ask your boss for an ansi/uk keyboard loll
i dont have the balls to whip out my customized wooting at work im sorry
my work gives me an ascii qwerty , im glad they have them 😄
I changed my workplace and had some cheap Logitech mouse and keyboard
Brought in my own the next day
Gmk devoted or monarch? What do you guys think
Why though?
I use my g810 at work
devote personally
easier to match 😄
well actually theres no big reasoning, it would be annoying to take it with me tho cause id use it both at home and work, just too much hassle for me and using my old keyboard will be impossible with the amount of sound it produces (razer blackwidow 2014 ultimate tournament with CLICKY SWITCHES, CLICK)
when i start my new job in a few weeks ill definetly build a cheap custom with silent switches and stuff and just use that
actually i kinda didnt consider just getting a keyboard with uk iso/us ansi for work
I got too much attention when I brought my 60he to the office. after that I stopped going there, again
i def need a full size for coding. i admire ppl that can use anything smaller
but hey i can always swap to uk iso!
You should
that would annoy me too yea
Or maybe a keychron?
98% is goated, full size is dog
I mean everybody just wanted to touch check it out
to be honest i dont use f keys a lot when i code.. except for f5 i guess?
I'M AN ATTENTION WHORE I ACTUALLY LIKED IT
actually fk the insert key HAHA
run, step over, step in 😄
hmm yea i guess, i do more web developing so i dont do that a lot
but cant u just use fn + num instead?
modtap hold caps to fn, pretty easy to reach anything with just one hand
So basically change any key as you like
Yea so right now i dont see a lot of downsights for 60% except for maybe arrow keys, but one rarely uses them and my beloved print and del key
but then again, just bind it to something i guess.
modtap again, tap the right lower corner keys to get arrows :e
lets say u play some game that needs wasd and arrow keys tho, wouldnt that mean i would have to bind wasd to wasd on the fn layer?
I had a tkl before so my muscle memory hovered my hand over to nothingness when searching for the arrow keys, after a few hours it was intuitive
yeah correct, toggle to fn layer where you have another set of wasd on wasd (or I guess you could put them wherever you like) and arrows on the right low corner, or somewhere else if preferred
pretty easy to just save a new profile for such a game
i see, yea then it should be pretty fine after getting used to it
or just rebind the keys to arrows on layer one for such a profile
im honestly hyped for all the space i gain from cutting my keyboard by 40%
maybe i'll stop hitting my keyboard in fps games
haha it will probably help
I still do it sometimes, and I tilt my keyboard like 70 degrees
i just put my keyb all the way to the left to avoid that 😅
but after a while it shifts to the right and then it happens
something like that, with tkl I used to have a bigger wingspan if we calculate the distance between my wasd-hand and mouse-hand, now the whole package is a bit tighter but there's still some more room I guess
did you end up doing this
just got home, but thanks for the reminder
ah okay gotcha
lol, the magnets in the switches knock them over when i line them up XD
you can add some space between them i guess
them
this is about as close as i can get te
and then again you could just use a caliper
are calipers accurate down to a hundredth of a mm?
currently writing the stuff down as ive done a bit more
mine arent sadly only .00
OK everybody here are the results of my investigation about switch films:
Q: doe the switches get bigger/taller?
A: Yes, ive measured 4 filmed switches and 2 unfilmed switches, and the result was everytime the same, the unfilmed switch was always 0.1mm smaller. I sadly cant get you you the exact number as my calipers arent that fine.
For measuring ive measured at the middle oft he switch with the stem pressed down.
Wuque: 111mm
aliexpress films: 111mm
Stock: 110mm
Q: does it effect the sound?
A: yes it does, listen for yourself.
is it by 0.1mm or 0.01mm?
0.01
in the picture, of the three switches, which is which?
ah mb, 1st wuque, second tx-ish and 3 stock
it's a bit hard to tell from the picture representation since the angle makes it look like the second two are significantly taller than the first one
but i didn't expect the difference to be that minimal
0.01mm is pretty negligible imo
i wonder if that's just attributed to normal switch tolerances?
indeed
it could be that unfilmed switches also differ from one another
would just have to discover that by repetition
dont think so, ive just now measured the films themself and they are exactly at the 0.01 mark
but they are supposed to be 0.15mm?
yea thats the same. i just relized ive given my measurement in cm not mm lol
my capliers only got down to a 10th of a mm, and the swithc fimls are 0.15mm thats a tenth
so what is the actual difference?
0.1mm + the part my calpiers cant measure. (if you take compression into accoutnm id say 0.12-0.13mm, thats just a guess tho)
or on the cm scale 0.01
i wonder why it would seem that for a regular switch filming them wouldn't really make a difference
but for lekkers they do
i guess it's because there's no good fitting films for them
even for the wuque
