Hello guys, do you know if there is a way to re-program the Keyboard to an other ISO?
60HE
Perfect so i can remap to the Swiss Layout?
yep
Yeah just change the keys to whatever you need em to be
Alright thanks, do i need to Buy a specific Key-Cap for the 60HE?
Swiss keycaps are prob pretty rare, but if you can find some and they fit the keyboard go for it
How do i know they fit before i buy them? Is there like a Socket Size?
ISO-DE or ISO-SI
all keycapsets that are made for cherry mx will fit
Alright thanks ya'll!
anybody know if the board will fit inside the anne pro 2 housing?
try
No
iirc they have different standoffs
damn
thank you
is there a good manufacture that makes them out of aluminum that i should check out?
just want a heavy base
with color preferably
You are looking for a case for the wooting or the anne pro?
Heavy af? Fjell
case for wooting. like the bottom. idk what it's called. the frame or whatever
fjell is a brand?
Not everyone consider them worth the money for the quality but it’s very hefty and it’s compatible.
Wooting will be releasing an aluminium case pretty soon aswell
okay cool
what is klippe t
okay perfect i'll look into all 3 of these
The Fjell is the most expensive unless you’re a baller
is it hard to switch out the case?
Easiest thing you can do
Be prepared to do it a lot though if you’re gonna mod your keyboard
why
Because there’s a multitude of things you can do to potentially affect how the case sounds
oooooooo
i'm planning on filling up bottom of case with 2mm of water
Uhhhh…
And the the 3 things you care about are looks, feel and sound
Garbage case lol
lmao worst take I heard in a while
Its not flex it's bounce
Agree that wooting can sound better in other configs
But just mentioned it since you mentioned price and most expensive cases
and depending on the config it doesn't sound bad
While I get it’s more expensive, I think the Fjell is actually more worth the money
With the brass insert
for the wooting it might be
Built my Salvation with a different config, and it sounds better than the wooting ever could
but thats just with tthe limitations of the Lekker switch and the steel plate config
Which is why the PCB stabs and PC plate is a big step in the right direction on the new module
Are you getting it?
Probably yeah
Depending on the sound signature of the Path60 they will release I might get the bundle
I like the looks of the Path60 but don't need a bad sounding case 🤷♂️
Black cases with a gold accent go hard
And I like the idea of the top left strap
OG case was just cheap OEM plastic tho so discarded it right away
Did you actually
I mean
I dig that
I had a good tray mount case ready for it
my fjell arrived
Black Fjell so hot
it's actually the grey
i took a chance on grey instead of black this time
looks so much better in person than on their site
Might be the lighting but yeah gray is sick
very hefty too which i like
Gray/silver matches with alot of clean keycap sets
and the mounting/spacing is perfect
Gray cases look so good
got 4 pieces of their foam too and gonna test it against the contact zip n fit
but overall really happy with it
I wouldn't stuff it with too much foam right away
came in a week
i know it's not exactly a hollow case so it might even be fine without any
Brass insert already dissipates/absorbs sound in a nice way most of the time, one or two thin sheets might just be what you need, but should be fine without any yeah
I've seen a few people review the Salvation case with the wooting and outside of BST, they all said they liked it so not sure why anyone would say it's garbage.
Here is an example of someone who loves it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Fw8Qrit4E

Thank you! 😂
Sick build
its mr plipps
I have the same wuque puller btw lol
Did the sound not come through? It’s just off my phone. Nothing spectacular @teal hill
Sounds plenty loud from listening on my phone
Probably an issue of skill
oh it was my dumb phone
i tried it on another phone ajd it works
my apologies
@wraith ice GMK redacted looking sexy
@teal hill thank you! Dude it’s one of my favorite sets! Glad it worked. I was hoping I wasn’t uploading a silent sound test, lol
does yours look kinda gold in the light reflection?
mine does its a little disappointing
why is there a watermark
cuz that’s what happens if I auto export in Lightroom
I take pic with my camera, put it in LR, do edit, export, and watermark
Okay that’s an awesome set! @teal hill
lmfao thats funny
why is that funny
Thanks! Paid a rly good price too lmfao
I upload most decent pictures i take
Where did you get it, if you don’t mind me asking? @teal hill
Aftermarket
It’s GMK Hallyu, and its a relatively old set
You can find it aftermarket for under GB price rly easy
show me your guys key caps that you most like
Too many good sets imho
Way too many
Yeah I have about 20 sets I want. I just got Terror below and Astral light which I love. Just impatiently waiting
Oeehhh super nice
I probably have a dozen sets I switch between based on the board or how I'm feeling
indeed, although idk if it is your recording equipment but it sounds a bit like a clicky switch to me.
show me
@tall hollow I don’t doubt it. It’s just on my phone. I haven’t done anything to the audio. I know it’s not the best.
yeah.
I like all these sets:
- Gmk Mizu
- Gmk striker
- Gmk mitolet
- Gmk Cherry Taro
- Gmk synthwave
- Gmk vapor wave
- Gmk skeletor
- GMK Avanguardia
- Gmk Nautilus
- Gmk retrocast
- Gmk frost witch
- Gmk nightlight
- Gmk shoko
- Gmk hammerhead
- Gmk zooted
- Gmk Poseidon
- Gmk monster
- Gmk Arabian Sea
- Gmk honor
- KBD fans black and gray
You won't be able to get a lot of these though LOL
why are they all GMK lol
I like GMK sets since they're more "premium" and they offer many color options.
Do you prefer Cherry Profile or OEM profile?
It's crazy that GMK has so many sets and I could name a list of top 20 and probably wouldn't have very many if any at all on the same list as Kosmos. That's why I love this hobby, it's such a personal preference thing.
nope, what colour did you get?
anyone know rlly good clear keycaps
is there any good cases i can swap with the wooting 60he? i hate the plastic one it comes with, with the strap on it and stuff
do we know how soon...? thinking about waiting for the aluminum case
You want like translucent clear or transparent
Akko ones are great
transparent
I got the white v2
Its nice
Indeed, and it’s cool to see other people’s ideas!
sorry to bother u guys, this company says that this case might be compatible with the keyboard
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
can u help me?
to anyone that sees this, i'm not super into modding but wanted to ask what some options are for trying to achieve the most silent case to dampen my keyboard
tbh i really like the look of red and blue samurai, they are very expensive, but at least they are in stock, not group buy
Just wondering if anyone knows of plate swaps for the 60HE
Do they need to be special made or will most DZ60 compatible plates work
Special made
Black also
Mine is grey
thanks, currently looking at a gasket mounted DZ60 case so might make my own plate for it
got tired of my fjell lmao
Ive done that for a few different cases. Let me know which one you're picking and I might already have a CAD file you can use.
Recently added a product called Keebtape on the PCB and a keebmat at the bottom of the Fjell case. The sound from the board now is slightly addicting haha
These are kinetic labs whale pbt keycaps! They are quite reasonably priced. Though…. They have already developed a shine on a lot of the frequently pressed keys after 4 months of use
This one should work! The standoffs look to be in the correct placement!
But the fit and the color along with the ultra marine is to die for
3D modeling
I just have to make sure that people know the plate files are provided as-is and not guaranteed to work. Don't want anyone yelling at me if they don't work.
@tall hollow I forgot to update you but I did end up filming all of those switches on Sunday. I think the new plate is arriving Thurs so I might be able to get the new build together this week and can do a comparison. Just trying to hear the difference pushing them between my fingers, there is no discernible sound/feel difference but it's not likely I'd notice a big difference until they are mounted anyway.
Yeah
I wonder if theres a way to mod the Hall effect and raise the magnetic feild to get 0.05 actuation or 0.07
For me it just sounded less rattly.
Yeah I dont think Id notice that unless its mounted
That’s a limitation of the sensors themselves, not the magnet or the switch.
So modding the switch won’t do much.
@tall hollow I wish they would let us have full contorl of the keyboard to fully make this keyboard the best it can be
0.1mm is already very accurate, accurate to less than the width of a human hair.
I think you start getting an extreme amount of input errors with such slight differences. I'm not an EE though so ignore me
For reference, a human hair is 0.12mm wide
If you think there is something that could make the keyboard better that wouldnt cause mass issues, please use the feedback channel and let them know!
@stray tiger i mean this would be good for fire and ads and strafing in fps games i love the 0.1mm but with input delay and computing I feel like were just on the cusp of 0 delay input
im sorry im a low latency freak
I love it so much
would be good for playing on high ping server where you can get caught out and cant strafe back in to cover
Well, if you want such a setup the limit is your parasympathetic nervous system.
I think you'll find that the majority of those issues wouldnt be affected by actuation distances. You're probably already hitting limits with scan/polling rates and overall latency (and human response) delays
but thats networking but amazing hardware would help
Pay to win networking much?
@stray tiger im a freak of nature and I jsut want this to be a thing hahaha
@tall hollow I wish ahahahhaahhaha
Maybe if you get more accurate hall sensors you can make it possible.
There are already people who made custom Hall effect keypads when the lekker switch came out.
@tall hollow yeah for some reason using rapid profile and continues rapid trigger makes the scanrate/lantecy of the keyboard higher sadly
@tall hollow please link
@errant needle is this for the wooting60he
Idk if I can find the design files.
Good lord - Calm it with the pings 😄

@bronze grove give us 0.05 actuation or ill eat my wooting60HE
@tepid garden doesnt it look like a yummy chocolate bar
0.05? Is that even possible?
possible? sure! practical? probably not!
Right. Not worth the R&D for a difference that can be hardly noticed
thanks bro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8W_yDvjfoE Ngl this is probably the best sounding wooting that I've found

there is not stock for the light springs there is any place that i can buy them?
Where are you located? US store shows Linear50 are still in stock
uk
If you really want them, you could try the US site
looks sick, which case is that?
yeah, @stray tiger did the gummy O ring mount, it does help dampen some noise.
What does a case need to be compatible with the gummy oring mount?
Wonder if it's worth it compared to the regular o ring mod
it is, and its arguably cheaper
no need to buy tiny O rings and longer screws.
Cases don’t even need those side nubs?
Or is that a nice to have but not necessary
I tried to find some in europe, but with shipping and all its like 30 bucks for me
You mean those holes they use for gasket mounting?
KP Poseidon 60 PSD60 Defender DE
oof, import and VAT?
in america its like 6 bucks
just shipping sadly, the O ring itself is like 8 bucks but 18 dollar shipping
gotta love UK shipping
here shipping is like 5 dollars
No like the little nubs on the sides here
thats to support the PCB.
the oring is more for friction fit. the pcb and plate doesnt have cut outs for those posts
Normally it's the same here, but ordering from a uk store is expensive after brexit
some cases dont have them and they work fine.
Ah I see
ahhh makes sense. I havent tried a gummy mount yet.
I done it on some of my builds, its a good way to get a bouncier experience with a tray mount design.
if you refer to the bakeneko60 or unikorn60, you'll see how o-ring is implemented
so if you're into that bouncy feel, its totally worth it
Wouldn't it still be relatively stiff because of plate? I wonder how the upcoming PC plate will work
I honestly prefer a softer typing experience but for gaming I don't really mind
the us site doesnt let me order
you're not from the U.S.?
it will probably still be stiff. the PCB is 4 layers.
and it can barely flex
typical keyboard pcbs are 2 layer
so they are much more flexible.
thx, have to watch it
but isnt pcb quite high here?
What are you saying
You buy a low profile case.
Or use a really long screw like 12mm m2 and stuff a whole bunch of o ring underneath but thats retarded.
@stray tiger you could probably add something to #🪛│modding_faq about gummy oring as well.
Also curious on why you go with 35/40 orings. Is it just for feel? Or would harder/softer ones actually not work with the 60HE?
A little bit of a strange request but for anyone w a custom wooting on the klippe t 60 with GMK keycaps, could u tell me the dimensions of your board (l x w x h)? Left most point to right most point and tallest point to shortest point
Just feel
Almost any o ring can work on the 60HE as long as it is designed for a 60 percent layout.
Does the hardness change sound as well?
Probably not
Hardness only really changes feel
Ordered 30, 40, 50 and 60 hardness orings lol. Very curious what they will all feel like
I actually prefer about 50a for my other 2 o-ring mount boards and because the 60HE isn't specifically designed to be gummy mounted, I find that anything too soft is harder to properly friction fit (the softer the o-ring the larger the rubber gauge?).
Wait 60 is harder than 50?
Also, the side nubs in the Klippe /Fjell for example do help with keeping your PCB from sliding down too far and resting on the standoffs fully but they aren't required. In fact I just put some silicon/rubber sticky pads/feet that are just slightly higher than the standoffs, in the corners of the case to give the PCB something to rest on if it drops.
Yes
I tried a range from 25-65 and I always tend to fall in the 35-50 range. Currently using a 45 in the 60HE I have gummy mounted.
Definitely thought it was opposite that lol. Good to know
Can the default wooting case gummy mount?
Never tried so no idea
I assume unless a case is weirdly large you can do it in most cases?
I have seen that question before. maybe its still here if you use the search bar
It has worked in almost every case I've tried. It's usually a matter of the case opening being too small rather than too large.
Ah. Makes sense
The graveshift size medium o-ring are good quality and work well.
Twinsies
haha I wanted to get the purple one initially but I decided it might stand out too much so I opted for the green
What plate material did you go with?
POM
Nice, you'll have to keep us posted on whether or not you get any actuation/input/ghosting issues with it since its a little softer. What hardness tadpoles did you use?
tbh I cannot remember they are like a baby blue ones
50A based off Geon's shop
so softest
Yeah, light blue is 50a
but no ghosting, have been using another POM plate for the last 3 months with no issues absolutely
this was changed in because I corrected some gaps around the perimeter and added some new stand-offs
Ahh gotcha. Well good job man, sounds and looks great!
ty
no,m im noty from us
im from uk
the us page dont have stock

sorry

Does anyone know a silver aluminum case in the US that is in stock? DM me, thank you!!
dont make deliverys to my country

Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
hi ya all
I want to make 60he switch like blue switch.
Is it possible to it by modifying the lekker switch itself? on the spring mod or?
Sorry for my broken English.
Your English is quite good. I do not know of a way to modify the lekker switch in this way as it does not use traditional switch parts. The springs and internal housing measurements are different than traditional switches.
i swear some people that dont speak english and want to learn speak it much more formally and polite than people that were born with it
its always hilarious
Thank you!!
So...does that mean there is nothing but official springs and some lubes in the switch mod?
Yes, this switch is magnetized so theres no true bottom out
I see...
Sounds like it would be difficult to create a click feeling.
My ambition is crushed 😢 thanks guys helping me!
Did spring swap and switch film today
Switch wobble reduced significantly
My space bar no longer nods
Niceeee
Still a tiny stem wobble but i can tolerate that
I wish the build quality was better so that these mods weren't needed
Honestly my biggest gripe with the Wooting
Never seen Stem Wobble like these Lekkers
Nah of the Gateron reds or Cherry reds or Kalih Box Blacks had wobble even half as much as these
But that would remove the stem wobble
Lmao
Just didn't happen I guess
Learn more about the Lekker magnetic switch. A full-range analog switch for mechanical keyboards.
Yea cos drunk deer A75's switch has like zero wobble stock
Wait wtf
we didnt get them because huano (who designed them) didnt want to make changes to the switch we asled for
We were robbbbed!
gateron offered switches that aligned with our wishes
im unsure exactly but i believe one of them was milky housings back then for better light diffusion and some geometry changes
we are trying to work with gateron to improve the current switches though
But if anyone want to film their switch, get tx film 0.125mm thick
i think our modding guru tirade is testing tons of films atm to add recommendations to #🪛│modding_faq
what case?
becuas it is bad PBT doubleshot
PBT Doubleshot usually is not 100% pbt
good set doesnt shine easily
kinetic labs pbt doubleshot is in F tier
you have Fjell, just get good dyesub set or high end doubleshot sets
anything you would suggest?
you want blue colorway right?
Based off of layers of the atmosphere in a pretty blue gradient. Compat for multiple layouts (sorry no 6u this time!) As a fellow fan of navy blue and blue toned boards, this gradient will most likely match any one of the blue gradients, as well as your standard neutral colors! Each row is supposed to represent a slig
Oooo
these two are what come in my mind
for gaming, dye sub is your best chance
not a fan
groupbuy tho
this one is looking the best so far
yep, i bought for my gf too
so good looking
but not everyone is a fan or vertical gradient
IRL pics from reddit

but I might just do this
cause color wise it makes the most sense with the ultramarine
thanks for the suggestion man
What're the differences
One is two distinct layers of material set into each other. One layer for the main keycap, one for the lettering. The other is soaking the letters and colours into the keycap.
any good cases for the wooting 60he that are cheaper but aluminum?
See the pins for a list of all known cases.
You still need to hunt down stock though. And alu just isn't "cheap" in general.
psd60
yeah true
i’ve seen the tofu cases but they expensive asf
they clean but expensive
PSD60
i just don’t wanna spend 300+ on this keyboard but i might have to @bronze grove
Poseidon PSD60
Wait for the Wooting Alum case
PBTfans BOG Specs Material: PBT Profile: Cherry profile Production Method: Doubleshot Manufacturer: PBTfans Friendly Reminds: Only keycaps included, no keyboard Compatibility: Cherry MX switches and MX-style clones Packaging: ABS keycaps tray with designed tray cover Update To be updated QC standard PBTfans Keycap QC S
potentially good set for black/grey case
Yeah, but there were more pressing issues with the manufacturing which caused the switch from Huano to Gateron.
Name dropped the case 4 times💀
Be careful with import costs
If you are in the EU you might get hit with some import costs
since KPrepublic is from China
I was checking the third party case compatibility list and I see the tofu60 2.0 on there but when I checked the product photos the usb port area is in the middle and not the left
Is there a model that has support?
No
They basically decided to make their own PCB in a completely different form factor and design. So the Tofu 2 case only fits theirs, not the "old" standard we're using.
Ah okay gotcha thanks 👍
Are you guys planning to add more compat cases to the list as time goes?
Anyone from the community is more than welcome to send me examples of cases they've tried and found to work or not work.
"We" don't really do anything.
Frog Mini case
Bro wasn’t listening lol
Custom machined steel it looks to be.
Chrome plated too
I’m guessing 1000 usd
Its an axe60, someone probably had some parts plated
Chrome plated
Most definitely.
$1600 USD
Damn.
Most expensive keyboard thing I’ve ever seen was a keyboard case made of solid brass and had custom machined metal keycaps and a tungsten weight.
As someone who already has a case that I hate touching because of fingerprints, that would drive my crazy.
I have a solid brass board, thats the one I hate touching haha
The BOM came out to be 10,000+ usd
Ive actually considered sending it off to get cerakoted so I can stop thinking about fingerprints. Other people embrace it and want it to tarnish and patina
Definitely get it ceramic coated.
Tarnished brass looks ugly af
Well it's there are positives and negatives. Positive, no more fingerprints or patina. Negatives, cost to cerakote (not too bad) and since its a limited edition case with less than 20 existing, changing the finish might affect the value (could make it worth more though)
Well its nickel plated brass so it doesnt tarnish like rough brass but its a fingerprint magnent
im waiting for my frog to be re ano'd
If you get a clear coat then i don’t think it will change the value by much.
any case recommendations for the 60he?
PSD60, KlippeT, FB60, Fjell
Klippe T, Fjell
Salvation case
Check the pinned messages for a link to the modding FAQ or case list
can’t find that anywhere in stock i think
ooo ok ty
modding faq shilled
wot
Most of the cases are going to be used, third party or random stock. There is also the official wooting case coming out in a few months
Do you know if wooting pcbs are going to be sold separately for custom keyboards ?
Yes they will be in the next few months with the release of the Wooting Module (will include PCB, plate and switches)
OH !
You make a diy boy happy XD
If you add the 90% version, I will only come to you !
40% wooting when
I'm not part of the decision process, just a friendly point-of-contact for help but I'll pass your request on. But who knows what's coming in the next 6 months!
Does anyone have polycarbonate 60% case recommendations? I am have a really difficult time finding one. And/or sound comparisons between acrylic, pc and aluminum? I think I want a deeper case sound so plastic over aluminum (and apparently PC will be deeper than acrylic?) but it seems like pc cases are hard to find
Hy cap'tain ! 🫡
I would personally go alu, but PC is also cool
I also love the sound of a good PC case and yes it will usually be deeper than aluminum. Mekanisk made a PC Klippe but they are super rare. I had one that I sold just last month though. Otherwise you can take a chance on converting a top/gasket mount PC case. The Sirius 60 is the one I'm currently working on but there are others as well.
Wooting TKL makes a comeback!
I have a full thick ABS case
Might still be available but it's green and shaped like a frog
Patina is so sexy bruh wut
I personally hate the look.
That’s just me though
Those are all positives
Ewwww, nooooo
That’s even worse
I’m a sucker for clean and shiny machine marks.
Not dull and discolored metals
I’m a machinist lol. I really like the look of a freshly milled part.
I think there is a place for both though. These guys machine out some nice polished stuff and then turn around and patina some of them https://cadlabcnc.com/products/ols/products/forced-patina-anodization

Ooh! How did that go btw?
Any updates?
Probably my best looking board 😏
Noice
Taiko sticker
🙈
I think I mentioned yesterday that there is no sound or feel difference by just pressing them in my hand and I cant test them on my normal switch tester board because Lekker lol. I've got a new plate coming for a build Im working on and should be able to get it together this weekend
Oh.
Civilizations looks so good on the right board
should i buy a Klippe T for my 60HE also pls send pics of yalls custom 60HE's i need inspiration and what would u guys say is the best mods for the keeb
heres a good resource you can use
search this channel for pictures, many many 60hes in here already
You can also check here for photos https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1070668460905988106
Wtf is a 10u spacebar
extra wide spacebars
It's a long spacebar
for extended HHKB layouts I think
Ahh
10u spacebars are for people who put in half effort. I like full width spacebars
Its like a mini wrist rest haha
What’s the best in stock \ drop in replacement case? White or silver preferred.
lmoooo
klippeT
Best is subjective
true that
In-stock, yeah go Mekanisk if you have the budget (highest available quality currently in-stock)
yup
they're the same image
Not on my end what the hell lol
thats a known issue on discord mobile
lol
ive had it happen to me
Interesting lol. It definitely is showing me my last copied picture. Wack
Hard closing discord fixed it. So odd
wooting 10u
lmao
You posting from mobile? I’ve been getting that bug too
Yup
I highly recommend the keycaps from https://metalkeyboards.no
silicone mod turned out semi-okay 😅
so... some of my keys jam. that's entirely a fault with my application and I will need to scrape it out, but the sound is very nice
After modding I'm certain that I only ever want to use Lekker switches from now on LOL
So... when's the PCBA coming out 👀
Sound test??
oof
naw it's not that bad totally usable if a little annoying
I just don't have the time when I get off work to pull out like 10 or so switches, pop them open and scrape out silicone
where the fuck do you buy this
Was a group buy from BRB Caps (Beyond Reason Bars). It's closed now though https://forms.gle/w9brY8MK6LHwpQPi7
Guys I have a question when you're lubing your switches are you mixing your lubricant thoroughly before using it or just simply using it right away?
(I've seen on a video that it was recommended to mix the lubricant (GPL205G0) before using)
I just stir mine up a bit in case it settled
I would definitely stir it a bit at first to make sure it didn't separate in transport.
A local friend of mine said real men have a larger space bar

Cursed
@bronze grove @stray tiger Alright thank you both!
I'll send pics about the lube before and after stirring it but it'll take some times cause I didn't receive my switch films in the the box so I'm waiting until I'll receive it as well
First time using films? Check the modding FAQ for some helpful tips about films
Yes it's my first time using films or extensively modding a keyboard altogether
So far I'm looking to do all of these
Case: Aluminum case (yet to arrive)
Foam: Stock
Stabs: Everglide pandas v3 + holee mod + lube and dielectric grease (waiting for the films before proceeding)
Switches: lube + films + switch pads (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LHNNFDR @stray tiger Do you think these will work?)
Tempest mod, burger mount mod and lastly sound deadener inside the space bar
Basically everything that isn't related to the switches and lube is done
No I don't think they will work well honestly. Read through the FAQ for a little help
So you think I should skip the film process and just go on with just lube?
I think if it's your first time modding and lubing stuff I'd skip films with these switches. I'd also stick to doing one mod at a time as the FAQ suggests.
Also the stock stabs are pretty great and you might find it to be a degraded experience after swapping them.
Alright thank you I might start lubing tomorrow or something even tho I already finished holee mod burger mount mod and sound deadener mod
Personally my stock stabs came with little to no lube and especially the spacebar was really rattly
Yeah, I do suggest lubing them. The quality of them is great though.
Well I already purchased cause I wanted to go with as much as white to illuminate the RGB even more (might sound crazy but I really went with clear stabs just to make it even tiny bit brighter)
OD
saw a lil sound comparison with films and concluded i need them, what are some films you recommend?
There are currently no films that fit the Lekker switches correctly. You can find more information here - https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399
Was it a Wooting video you saw?
nah just linear switches
Makes sense. You can film most standard linear switches quite easily with almost any film.
ah damn ill need to cut em myself for fitting?
Its not a matter of cutting, its that the rails on the Lekker switches are too large to fit the films without them warping
Cutting would be if you want to try it anyway and you bought films that have an additional strip in the middle of them.
eh wouldn't be worth the trouble, thanks for telling me
If your switches have extreme housing wobble, it might be worth the effort but in most cases it's not
For example, if you have opened your switches numerous times and find they just dont snap back together tightly, you can solve that by forcing a film in them.
Should I use this PE switchpads or this precut poron foam?
What my A75 sounds like now, switch lubed(no spring lube) packing foam+weights and two layer of tape mod, the pinging sound from stock is from plate I think, it sounded a lot less pingy after I swapped stock sponge foam for packing foam and tape modded.
Ngl it sounded so much better than lekker switch
But function wise wooting still holds the crown
Anyone thought about a solid space bar
like just a full on chunk
Maybe keys too
Only with a little slot for the stem
its alright
Maybe a full cherry wood keycap set
Whats the best wooting60he mod to have guys? Any suggestion?
Ya like warping?
Lol
Good rule of thumb is that thinner is better. Also for that precut pe foam you are gonna have to cut some holes for the plate standoffs if you are going to use that.
I switched to white, no backlit keycaps, and it looks great -- but not having any RGB can make it difficult to gauge which profile I'm on. So I'm thinking of adding a stylized, backlit space bar... think the Ducky Year of the XXX spacebars. Then, I can run up to 5 LEDs in an informational, non-tacky way.
However, I can't find anything like this online. Anyone have any tips on where I could look?
Morning modders
morning
Hmmm, clear/translucent keycaps?
Even without shine through keycaps you can set the LED brightness to high for either the entire board or a select few caps and should still be able to easily see it, even during the day.
Unless you play in direct sunlight I guess
Well my CSGO bracket is busted. At least I got the 0-3 pick right lol
My room has large windows in it and the LEDs on my wooting is still visible.
Same man
Sunlight is good for you.
Skin cancer says hello
If you only cut out a slot for the stem you'll bottom out the keycap on to the switch every time. Plus depending on the material it would be too heavy
Lol
I remembered a friend of mine has an old Ducky lying around so I asked to borrow their keycap. Not the exact same white hue but that gets buried under the lights :)
Looks great
I feel like the only problem is that when you push a switch down the top housing kind of clears under the switch, so if it was solid it would feel like your bottoming out very early
But the space bar is a good idea maybe, like have the left and right side of the spacebar filled and just leaving space for the stab stems and switch
Big fan of putty lol. Could potentially do it for the other stabilized keys but they have much smaller cavities to fill
so I don't think my issue is with the silicone
the keys are getting jammed when they're on a slight tilt
😭
switches are lubed, silicone modded & filmed
All of them our only a few?
See if it happens on an unmodded extra switch
Usually a sign of over lubed switches
damn that’s smart, I’ve tried it with pe foam but I can’t seem to cut the right amount to make it the way I want it so I gave up
Feel like buying some putty right now
No it probably is the silicone
I had the same issue with one of my switches. Was fine up and down but if I tapped the edge it would get stuck. It’s probably too thick so any slight movement that’s not up and down will catch
Iirc the picture with the silicone on the left side was too thick and that’s where it would get stuck. The other one had the right amount
well at least it's good to know my lovely jubbly aluminium keycaps aren't the issue
🦍
Will share a ghetto typing test soon
keycaps can be a reason in situation like that?
It could contribute to it as there’s just more weight the springs have to move (and thus takes less friction force from the silicone to stop it) but I’m guessing the main culprit is the silicone. To check you should be able to take the cap off (and even pull the switch) and see where it gets stuck
Does anyone know why the lower rows sound less thocky then the first one?? So far I've only lubed the switches, spring swap, case swap and relubed the stabs. Does seem like it that I would have to relube the stabs on the spacebar xD
what exactly does this do?
i see, Valo fella
@south karma What you can also do is put either a layer of tape or some putty inside your spacebar, helps make your spacebar thockier.
maybe some foam
@untold wigeon makes it thockier because there’s more weight and less void
I would try all three (tape, foam, putty) to achieve the pitch that works for you
Because the keycaps are a different size on each row. If you want each row to sound the same you need to find keycaps with the same profile on every row.
Woot they arrived. Now I just need a different case to match them a little better lol
does anyone change the stock stabs ? to durock v2
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but if you're still using the Wooting keycaps despite case swapping and relubing will still have that signature springy Wooting sound
Durock v2s are screw mounted, but I have Durock plate stabilizers mounted in mine, the stock are decent itself and I find hardly any difference
Same. Got durock replacements as well for the heck of it (and cause the white ones fit my case)
@shell geode thanksi also did you any notice on that pc plate ? where can I buy it
Does the pc plate even support plate mounted stabs
Considering the new module is screw in stabs
I just wrapped the plate with a 3M carbon fiber vinyl wrap, it's the stock Wooting plate, it's white and my case at the time was black so I just wanted it darker
I want tofu60 :(((((
How does the weight interact with the actuation? Any noticeable difference?
My spacebar feels ever so slightly slow on the return, but idk if that’s just because I think it’s supposed to be slower lol. I haven’t had any issues
lol
Hi all, I have a Poseidon PSD60 case to swap out the oem plastic one and was wondering, should I be dremeling off the Teo center standoffs? I see the oem case doesn't even have the most central one but am unsure of the one by the spacebar
No need to remove any of those.
ok, would leaving them alter the feel or anything like that? Im thinkingn the center one might causes a firm spot in the keys around it
I have the PSD60 as well, there are no softer or firmer spots as the switch plate is metal and quite stiff, the only soft feedback you might feel is if you burger mount it and press down pretty firmly
Good use of the wheel weights, btw! I put a brass plate in mine
ok good to know. I was thinking of lopping them of for piece of mind. As of now I cut out some squares for the 4 standoffs to serve as the burger mounts until i get some o rings. Yeah the weights worked out pretty nicely. I wanted to do a brass plate but was getting quotes of like $60-80 for a piece from local metal retailers. Gotta love Canada lol. Even amazons 2x12 blanks were over 30 bucks here so made due with the wheel weights. The KB has some nice heft to it 🙂
It sure does! I like how much heavier the 60he is now 😃
On the other hand, I want to also try a clear resin case from a mold with the PSD60 🤔
why isnt it done yet
Oh no, I'll get right on it sir, please don't yell at me
That's what I thought. Go out there and make me proud.
do you have a link for the medical tape you used on the switches?
I'm thinking of trying band aid strips next. I've tried the silicone method and I'm not a fan
Smh always out here dunkin’ on my gasket maker
is the tape not holding up as you hoped?
It is holding up right now just fine, it also depends how much lube you are applying to the tape, but I was just considering since its fibrous and it's only been a month, I am unsure of when I have to re-lube
Haha, sorry! I think its a great mod for everyone to try, I only attempted because of you and/or Ducky, but I'm still chasing the solid thack that's not springy
Haha no worries just giving you shit lol
I’m very curious about the feel and sound of tape versus silicone but also don’t want to do that much tedious work again anytime soon 😆
whats the actuation force of the lekker switch?
wdym
nvm found it

what foam should I use for my wooting 60 he??????
pe foam
What foam should I use for my Wooting on the Klippel T case?
Check the pinned messages for the FAQ
on the motherboard or in the case or both
on the pcb?
if you want more dampening use more foam
so like sheet of pe foam, poron foam w/ cutouts etc
case foam yea should reduce pinging (if it's in a metal case)
but yes the foam, if using a custom made one, needs to fit wooting, so listen to @stray tiger
just cut one out
it's also poss. you can make your own pe foam, there's tutorials online for that
people use car sound deadening material with great results
I just use polyfill mostly. I rarely use foam
Polyfill is easy to find lol
And it's like $5 for enough to do 100 keyboards
Although Most people buy it to stuff pillows and plushies
filmed, lubed, silicone modded, aluminium keycaps, low profile anodised aluminium case
some of my slower typing because of the terrible silicone job
but otherwise very nice to type on
bros got the windows founder team mouse
oh and tape modded
I deadass switched from a HSK Pro to a trackball
and fuck you
🥲
Spacebar stabs could use some work. Although that’s just me.
thats amazingly fast typing speed
how come lol
honestly just for convenience, it's a lot comfier for me to use this
ironically I now use the gaming mouse for work and the trackball for gaming
bros brain is flipped
my K/D/A may not be as good but I feel damn comfy
stock spacebar stabs, I added more lube
Mushy feeling?
I think you heard my spacebar before? Not sure.
ducky please send it agian
I attempted to put shrinkwrap on the stabs too but it wouldn't shrink enough to fit into the actual hole
Lmao, this would be like your fourth time hearing it.
it's so satisfyingg
i need to hear it again
I mean, if you went that far with your stabs, mind as well try the Holee mod.
Do a search in the channel
yeah no I'm not against holee modding I just couldn't find a bandaid
I'd rather the main man send it to me
I need to fix the silicone job and the sticky keys before I get to the stabs properly though
People do be lazy
how am i eben supposed to look for that
True lol
I think @river reef sounds the best
Search function
then plipps and gewalt, then yours
The recorded sound test?
yeah\
lol yeah, I could tell that it wasnt a wooter, it aint got that lekker clack.
Basically dampened the case and thats it
cool keycaps what keycaps are they.
Didnt even relube it
keychron keycaps
I have MA profile keycaps on the way, see if it can sound even better
its a really nice keyboard yeah, although the software could use some work.
nowhere near as polished as wootility.
ooh, yeahhh.
lets hope they add that soon.
thats a dealbreaker to many
I was so confused when I couldnt set macro on customized actuation profile
They did say they'll add rapid trigger so we'll see
But if you just want it for typing its great
its so hard to find white keycaps that still let you see rgb and that are budget.
The fact they didnt do gb and just release it with like 2 week preorder is nice too
ah, nice
If u want ones thats shine through should get side printed ones
Top print will have these tiny grey areas on legend
But they will be abs instead of pbt
ooh
LOL Too much RGB
my keyboard sound like this lubed
It has 3 layer tape mod.
Yea tape mod does like nothing on 60he
just want some good foam people are saying pe foam but I want foam for my case not my pcb
I did silicone pour in psd60re
But after swapping in fjell i didnt bother to use anything
Nah i got it in second hand market locally for 300nzd
And spend 120nzd anodising it black
Its like 570nzd to get one new
Steal
Yea it was e white and the dude scuffed the paint
is the posideon psd60 thick? like I wanna be able to put my thumb on the bottom of the case and still press w a s d with my three other fingers so I want a thin case like this
is the posideon too thick for me to do that?
Psd60 is not low profile
whats low profile mean
I just need a case like the one I have currently thats "low profile" but for the wooting 60he bc I dont want the strap thing on the side and I hate the little lip thing they have at the bottom
have you heard of any low profile cases for the wooting 60he ? @river reef
Low Profile Aluminum Case
thatll fit the wooting 60he fs?
Yea its gh60 case
More like I dont like low profile case
Dont like exposed switch
I dont think gaming has to do with what profile case I use?
Does low profile case provide gaming advantage?
sorry well ive had a high profile case before and I just remember I thought there was no way I was gonna be able to play games with that
so imo it feels like it profides an advantage yes
Do you use wrist rest?
nope
I use wrist rest so my hand doesnt actually bend that hard
Why is the thumb there
grip
What
GRIP
Cant u anchor properly with your wrist?
nooo
ig since this keyboard is my first thats how i am idrk
but I would be slow asf with it for months until I would get used to it
.10 millisecond delay to hit spacebar when playing game
Wrist too low will give you carpal tunnel
is it supposed to be high/
But idk i dont need my thumb to grip the keyboard
lmao im probally already gonna have to get surgery tbh
i jitter click 14 cps in minecraft
and been playing games for awhile
Eh i guess thata why you grip keyboard
lmao
I dont think normal fps would require you to grip the keyboard with your thumb lmao
well idk it also kinda helps with pressing other things
Idk i like my thumb on the spacebar
wait my keyboard isnt that low damn
I can like see the full switches completely
If anything I need the homing key
Cant type without it
Theres no way u can see the full switch
Means you got a low profile case, nothing wrong with them at all, I like low profiles, people who get custom keyboards typically go for high profile cause they like the aesthetic more along with the sound signature. It changes with high vs low profile
Half of it is under the plate bro
Haha, got a pic?
Of what, the switch?
Yeah the switch/plate that you're talking about
Was replying to this
Ah I see
He said he can see the full switch
a pic?
mines like medium profile I think lol @static tendon
I'd consider this high profile, you can see the switch a bit but it's not entirely exposed like some low profile cases
could you take it a little bit more far away
do you have a link for that case?
is this the wooting 60he?
That looks like a ducky case
It is not, but it will fit the wooting 60he
You are correct, Frozen Llama Mecha Mini 60% case
does low-profile or high profile affect the sound of the keyboard in any way?
Yes it does
like make it more clakky or something?
Low profile has a higher pitched sound, a high profile case will have a deeper sound. More noticeable with mods/foam as well
I don't have a link for just the case, but there is a link to the entire keyboard (Frozen llama discontinued) It was a limited run
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5804
BUT, they still sell the black version here:
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5593
can you include more foam into the keyboard with high-profile
Yes, modding would be the exact same, that wouldn't change. Although you may see parts of the mods such as foam and switches even
is a higher pitched sound nessecarly bad? could I get a type test
I would confidently say a higher pitched sound is less desired in the keyboard community
I swear it isnt bro 😭
Tirade...
Well in some cases I suppose. I would consider myself a gamer. But I love me a good deep sounding keyboard that feels premium
If u want aluminium variant just get a ducky mecha mini second hand
exactly, me too
Otherwise its all plastic
when something sounds and feels good you want to use it lol
like a mouse, keyboard, woman
etc
or at least looks cool
bro 💀
Now keep in mind a lot of sounds are opinionated, BUT from my past experience I would say most prefer a deeper tone or in between. Not fully higher pitched. I also like clacky boards, it just depends
kosmos is your keyboard clakky?
High pitch gets fatigued too easily
I have 2 keyboards, one clacky, one thocky
Kosmos, i think people think about the wooting the wrong way
I like the thocky one more, but the clacky is less rattly so I'm currently using that one. Eventually I'll purchase the wooting 60he when the barebones version releases sometime in June 2023
theyre trying too hard to make it thocky when i think they should play to the strength of the switch
i would try to emphasize the plink of the switch more than anything
a plinky keyboard can sound amazing
In my personal opinion you can build for thocky but youre gonna get a creamier sounds which is not bad at all in fact probably better in this case
I would say my keyboard atm is plinky
sound test time
What do you mean by "plinky"?
ok
metallic, high pitched sound
lmao it doesnt sound that good
but thats why im getting into modding
but id say it sounds plinky
I wouldnt worry too much about sound on lekker switch
theres just something about the top half of the lekker switch that sounds terrible
I actually like the way mine sounds and feels but it might be because i got tired of my other keyboard and needed something new
But ive never had to mod a keyboard as much as i had to for the wooting
people took that badseed tech bid too seriously
I had keyboards that doesnt even have lubed switches sounded better than wooting lmao
no ones really taken the time to actually do normal mods
and trial and error mods
Yea that bad seed tech vid is good for like beginners
cant really compare the two though, completely diff switch design
Yea
After doing it myself i was just confused as to why he suggested all these mods and then just did my own mods
Lekker switch design is really simple and effective
The one on drunkdeer have great sounds
I think he did it because he could, doesn't mean anyone should do the same
I think if someone did burger mount and a quality lube job it would sound great, no foam
The thing is i think bad seed tech is a good youtuber but beginners took that vid to heart with the wooting
like they do with Optimum Tech
hes someone thats good to watch if youre new to PC stuff, but after that theres much better people
please nuke those urls
what
me personally i would use the PSD60 between those, but Klippe T is my best choice
i want low profile

nice
