Yeah I've got lubricant coming from wooting over the next few days, so I'll definitely be doing that
Part of me wants to 3d print a plate cover or support or something for the usb, having it just hanging out kinda sketches me lol
Exactly lol
It’s just free floating
I just took it all back out and retightened using my precision electric driver, also realized I left the center mount point still in there. Sounds much better and more thocky now, I think I had just overtightened the screws.
Any suggestions on best way to bulk wash/clean new switches for lubing?
Should I remove springs and not wash them?
Can bottom housing be washed since it has the contact points?
best way is to use an ultrasonic cleaner with some degreaser and water, but a container with some water and soap would work, just have to do alot of shaking
although you can always used just straight rubbing alcohol if you dont have any degreaser.
oh and use distilled water if possible
the minerals in tap water may cause corrosion on the metal contacts
Sound check @mental hemlock: Wooting 60HE PCB mounted in a Klippe T using M2x8 screws in all stand-offs incl. center. Burger-mounted with 5x2x1.5mm o-rings. Using 4mm layer of Klippe foam, all switches hand lubed, no tape mod.

@tall hollow thank you helpful as always
No problem
would u mind sending me the model for it as i might build this myself
as im replacing my ouse and this looks like some fun
I made this from scratch, meaning I opened an old gaming mouse (I don't remember the brand) and I measured it with a caliper, designed a cad for it, and then built the exoskeleton around it. I think it's better for you to start from scratch since all mice have different sized boards rather than work on mine and make changes to it
ah fair enough
might have a go with it as i rely on a finger grip rn
I got the inspo from Optimum Tech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvz8KjCpdLE
Check prices on Amazon below
Razer Viper V2 Pro: https://geni.us/03DDN
Current Artisan pad: https://geni.us/UayfP
With no mouse upgrade options in sight, there's only one choice - make one.

Np! I got an idea of what he steps he took and just followed. I'm also gonna do another one, this time on a Razer Mamba TE to do a corded version to make the mouse even lighter
wireless or bust
Different preferences, I also favor wireless, but Im aiming to make my old mouse as light as possible, which will definitely be lighter than my DA V2 Pro, my current exo weighs around 50g with that fat ass 300mah battery
3D printable mice is a cool concept though!
A mouse body that can be custom made right at your desk!
omg we should give that idea to wooting
finally a use for my bambu lab x1!!??
im kidding
Lmao
DO NOT GET AN UNTIMAKER
you can get a Prusa that performs better for a fraction of the price
Heck, bambu lab printers will smoke ultimaker printers for a fraction of the price too.
anyone know if i can case swap wooting with drop carina? https://drop.com/buy/drop-carina-mechanical-keyboard-kit
Dunno
not enough details to tell
Yeah
If you wanna get started in 3D printing for cheap, you can get the OG ender 3 for like 100 usd.
im not getting that lmao
Lol
i got an ender 3 but idk how to make it work if someone can help
What’s up with it?
Hard to say. I haven't seen anyone else have this case and confirmed it, also there's only one screw on each side from looking at the plate, don't know if you're satisfied with just two screws holding your pcb down
i got a bag from a friend that had a different nozzle
it was a gift its pretty dusty
habent taken the time to configure it
where do you go to set it up
Like how to swap nozzles?
ill @ you later
Aight
yea
what case is that
Looks like a tofu
tofu60
you wanna angle it slightly more left than right with the tofu
anyone know if it is still possible to buy a tofu 60 anywhere or anything similar?
discontinued
look at the klippe t cool case
that case is nice is their anything else i need besides my wooting and case cause i already got keycaps
Max gaming has ewhite tofu 1.0s in stock still
you also need a wooting wristwrest
https://us.maxgaming.com/us/cases/tofu60-aluminum-case-60-e-white
I haven’t ordered from them but afaik a few people here have
lol
I'm pretty new to the whole keyboard scene and got my 60HE today. I love the sound the space bar makes, is there any way to make the rest of the keys sound like this? https://imgur.com/a/1PJHjdP
The spacebar will always sound different because its a larger keycap with significantly different sound properties. I've never heard a keyboard where the spacebar sounds the same as the keys. That being said there are a ton of ways to change the sound of your other keys. I'd start by lubing them and then seeing how you like the sound.
this.
well we cant hear it
Click their imgur link, and there's a volume button on the top right
ah thanks
@icy ivy i neber heard someone say that about their space bar lol, its always the opposite
i personally would add some foam or something inside the hollow parts of a space nar
or glue lol
They're looking to make their keys sound thockier like their spacebar
I just like the way it goes "thunk"
it just sounds hollow lol
Yup, it's like Tirade said, the spacebar key itself is bigger and heavy, which makes the deeper sound. To have the keys sound the same, you would need heavier keycaps. Ceramic keycaps could be a choice: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/rwgl77/using_one_keyboard_with_ceramic_vs_pbt_keycaps/
how about aluminum keycaos\
ooo yeah, metal keycaps, that too
someone needs to make a full aluminum keyb
Thats the beauty of the hobby. People will prefer certain sounds (clacky, poppy, thocky, creamy?) and in the case of my daughter she wanted rainbow and LOUD. Well that's exactly what she got.
This is an expensive rabbit hole I'm going down here lol
keycaps, case, switch, plate
im cringing lol
nice build but the sound lol
NK Sherbets switches if you're curious lol. Super clicky and annoying https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysiMVOPOb8U
Today we're reviewing the POPULAR Kailh (NK) Novelkeys Sherbet (click bar clicky switches)! Are they better than Cherry Blues? Kailh Box Jades or Pinks?? Let's find out!

MORE SWITCH VIDS
...
Welcome! Glad to have you on board, we're also all broke here
Do you sit next to her?
Hell no, she is upstairs haha
i would probably hear that clicky from downstairs lol
You should get her one of those cases that has a solenoid in it lmao
Get some real clack
anyone have thoughts on lubing the wooting stabs with kytox 205g0 vs molykote em-50l, or minimal difference?
Everyone seems to recommend molykote or dielectric grease
I used dielectric grease personally
anyone know where i can get enjoy pbt blank keycaps
i would just buy a separate 205 and 105g0 and dielectric grease
and a quality swicth opener
why the 105g0?
buy the amazon ones theyre cheaper and better
Haha that being said, my girlfriend had to work from home and used my daughters keyboard one day and this was here text to me
Bag lube the springs
spring lubing
ohh ok
thats great lol
so 205g0 for switches, 105g0 for springs, and dialectric grease or molykote for stabs
Put a couple drops of 105 in a baggie, drop all the springs in, and shake
absolutely
no need for anything else
Then spend 30min separating all your springs
bad seed tech had a bid on how to lube switches fast
🫡
Yea true lmao
he says to dip the stem in and let the housing lube itself through time
also thoughts on tx film?
It was fun, but I'm glad I did the spring swap and re-lube and got it over with, because thinking about the process is giving me mild ptsd
Only necessary if your switches has a housing wobble
Honestly, I stopped buying 105 and molykote over a year ago. This is pretty much all I use now https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-51004-Synthetic-Viscosity/dp/B000UKUHXK/ref=sxts_rp_s_a_1_0 and https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-21030-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000XBH9HI/ref=sr_1_10
Wow these are so much cheaper quantity-wise
sound test for your keyboard
please and thank you @stray tiger
so we know to buy this
like when am I ever gonna run through a 3oz bottle of grease
I'm not trying to convince you to buy anything, just telling you what I use.
Such a good cost effective option
Decide on whether or not to buy the lube? You're not going to hear a sound difference between switch lubes on an online recording from an android phone sent via discord. Hell I dont think you would hear one in real life but who knows.
im built differently
If you're going to be lubing 1000's of switches, superlube is a great value. If you just want to lube your wooting and maybe another keyboard, the wooting lube kit is a great deal!
There's lube sound differences, say wha?
I just thought it was lube for switches and grease for stabs
Not to my ears
send it tirade
Just for you I'll send you 5 done on 5 different cases. Klippe T Solid Brass Case, Klippe T Aluminum, Tofu60 Aluminum, Tofu60 Acrylic and Sentraq HP Aluminum
sex
@mental hemlock now you get to tell me which ones were lubed with superlube and which ones werent.
Well no, but good try haha
dont lie to me
The 3 with the peach colored keycaps were done with the wooting kit back in Jan
haha you got mer
i need to know if this is a switch that you should get films fot
No, films are not typically suggested. What issues are you having with your switches?
Huh, I really only use those on things like cars and my little RC stuff.
And on my machines as well
Never thought of using them in switches
Has anyone tried a silicone mold with a Klippe T? Just curious how tight the fit is with the PCB and whether its worth it
Yeah, don’t film your switches unless the housing wobble is either really bad or if it really bothers you.
Because you will have a hard time getting these films onto these switches (trust me I know)
So if you wanna film your switches, it’s gonna add like 2 hours to your lube session.
For me personally I put it on the rails of the bottom housing, the bottoms of the bottom housing, and the walls in which the stem goes through and where the spring goes. Then I apply a generous amount on the spring and put it into the bottom housing. Then I get the stem and add lube to the sides where the switch slides along the rails of the bottom housing and the stem pole. Then for the top housing I just put a small amount of lube on the sides where the stem hits the top housing. Although you can approach lubing how however you want to avoid overlubing, save time, etc.
Just used 205 grade 0 and a brush
Although the lube you use and the methods you use depends on what you want the switch to be like and how much you value your time.
Give me a sound test.
How about you give us a sound test? I just gave you 5
Why lol
I think he was talking to me lol
@mental hemlock correct me if I’m wrong.
You’re wrong
Oop
@tall hollow but please, give me a sound text
I'm asking him to provide a sound clip of his current wooting configuration since he is asking everyone else for theirs. I like a little give and take to make it fair.
I want to hear everyone’s unique setup
is there any post for 5° 60% ALUMINUM MECHANICAL KEYBOARD CASE? I would like to see it
Well I have noting
I'd like to hear yours @mental hemlock
Check the pinned messages for the link to the keyboard case list
The 5 degree case works fine though, Ive got a few of them.
oh i meant has anyone build with that case before?
Yes, lots of people, including me
oh thanks. can i see it?
I don't have one built at the moment but I can show you pictures of the case if that helps
Gimme a sec, since I’ve made some changes since I’ve recorded my last sound recording lmao
oh cause i read the notes in the compatibility list and it says it wont be in the center and am wondering if there's some sort of gap
So you're the one buying up all the Tofus 😆
Beautiful 60 collection
It's off center by about .5mm or less in order to get the USB port to line up. I can show you how much of a difference it is. One sec
okay thanks so much
Do SA profile caps work on the 60he?
@empty flax you can see how much you need to shift the PCB over. It's because the wooting USB connector is shifted to the right a small bit.
@mental hemlock here’s one sound test for you. Sorry if it’s a bit haphazardly put together lmao.
Over 16mb?
It says it’s over 25
Oof, maybe just upload the audio
Hah, I actually had over 60 cases that I bought from a vendor that was new old stock and sold them here in the forums at cost plus shipping/paypal fees to help others get a case.
That should take off at least 20 megabytes
How do
Do i have to do anything specific to shift it by a bit or it's just an additional info and there won't be any interference
Nope, you just shift the PCB very very slighty to the left when screwing in the screws so that the USB port lines up. Even if it's not perfectly lined up it will work. Mine is off by a little as you can see but it doesnt cause an issue and the cable plugs in just fine @empty flax
yeah, the screw holes are extra wide for this very reason.
This doesnt even sound like a Wooting so either good job or bad job depending on what you were going for lol
Noting60HE
?
yeah lol, it doesnt have the same Lekker clack.
NOTING60HE
I'm not saying it sounds bad, just not like any of the other 60HE's Ive heard.
... wow lol
oh alright. Thanks! I dont have any experience and it would be my first case mod. can't wait to build it
it has a very slight "sticky honey" sound to it.
That sounds great
That’s why I’m asking YOU ALL for sound tests
definitely different from my usual builds.
Yeah sounds good man!
thanks!
I didnt know you didnt have a wooting yet because you are offering a lot of build advice and suggestions so I assumed you did
I’m just built differently
I haven’t even built a true custom but I already have an idea of what to do because I like to tinker with shit
What did you mean by this
cant wait until wooting releases the alu case though!
oh I came across a case called A60 but it's not in the compatible list. Does anyone know if it might and has not been added to the list?
it has a slight stick to it, and I describe it as the "sticky honey" sound. probably from the lube in the switch or im just picking it up from other noises lmao.
Haha this keyboard is not lubed lol
huh, factory lubed lekkers dont sound like that lol
I’m new to PC. Gaming since last year of August, my birth month which I got gifted a PC
It’s not a Wooting lol
It’s a Royal Kludge
But I have a thing for modifying things
I see
This is the first keyboard I got, Royal Klude and just did a tape mod and foam
With the Wooting I’m gonna go all out
Blank keycaps and debadged
Looks the typical high profile cases off AliExpress. Will likely work fine but won't be as nice as your 5 degree
Thanks, I only have one board now that isn't a 60. I sold off almost everything else. Have one 65% left "just in case" lol
And because its probably my favorite sounding board so I refuse to part with it.
Where’s the hookup on tofus and Klippes
The Tofu60 ship has sailed. You can still get Klippes directly from Mekansik. If you don't have your wooting yet then waiting for the official wooting aluminum case might be a good option
Not a fan of the strap? You know it's removeable right?
Not that I’m not a fan, I really like it honestly. It’s just that I’m more of a fan of the minimal look
Grey Klippe T, grey blank keycaps
That’s my look
@stray tiger
I know these are gradient but imagine it
I can dig it, my main 60HE is gray on gray
It does look like it fits, but since its not a on the list, you can be the first to confirm if it does or not. I took the chance on the Baka60 and it is a confirmed fit
main 60he? Are you implying that you have multiple??
@mental hemlock
That’s sex right there
I do have 2 and a half lol
Wooting 30 lol
anyone know keyboard feet/pad for the tofu60
You are looking for replacement pads/feet for the Tofu60?
anyone have one of these 2 keycap sets, or keycaps from the same manufacturer?
https://www.mwave.com.au/product/taihao-mxswitch-type-doubleshot-pbt-104key-keycap-set-lavastone-ac51301
https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/keychron-double-shot-pbt-osa-full-set-keycap-set-keyboard-keycap-set-dark-black-pbt-01-353848
are these better in quality compared to the stock wooting PBT keycaps? i don't care about rgb compatibility
Buy Tai-Hao Mx-Switch Type Doubleshot PBT 104-Key Keycap Set - Lavastone - 104C02GL201 online with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Mwave.com.au
Both of those are going to be about the same quality as the stock wooting keycaps. I actually own similar or exact sets of both of the ones you listed.
ok thanks, then i'll not bother
looks like i'll have to go gmk tier to get better quality, but i'm not that not that much of a goner just yet
There are lots of options out there that arent GMK that are good quality caps. Check out NovelKeys, CannonKeys, PBTFans and other Wooting keycaps.
i've checked out the rest available easily in my country and they are either too expensive or out of stock
wdym other wooting keycaps? is there something more premium than the stock pbt keycaps that ship default with the ansi layout?
If I put film switch’s will it ruin the Hall effect on the keyboard?
Do your switch housings have a wobble?
There's an official wooting case coming??
Where do I find this list?
Yes.
More information to come, but it is in works.
@shell geode I just want it to sound really good but if it affects the overall performance of the kb then there’s no point
And wobble
Unless yours have a wobble, it's not necessary
Pinned posts here are the answer to both of your questions.
It rattles a bit ):
Hello @stray tiger, I am considering a freebird60 case but I see it only has 4 screws. Do you think I’d run into any issues due to the potential added flex with the reduced amount of stand offs?
Just trying to get a secondary opinion here. Wondering if you’d have any thoughts on this one
Thank you
I have a wooting in my Salvation which only uses the top 2 screws
Also used the wooting in a klippe t which has 5 screws (1 more right to the spacebar)
both worked fine
Any Information on an ucpoming Alu Plate?
We don't have any plans for new plates. Steel is what we use to ensure it stays rigid under pressure. 🙂
Aight thanks for the fast answer
make your own
generic alu plate with plate mount stab support from aliexpress will do the trick tho
I'd rather just paint the plate black and be done with it
it does its job
my goal was to alter the sound
That's always been possible. It's just not something we're considering.
The 60HE Alu case has the benefit of being compatible with third party PCBs.
The 2HE and fullsize keyboards have no such common standard.
The chance of us doing it is also 0% because of that.
Market so low it'd be more akin to group buy than anything else
But if they make a 60 case that's real nice it has wider appeal.
You shouldn’t run into any issues, since the board is already so stiff.
Floating keyswitch and unibody design
Nothing preventing you from making your own and share the files with everyone.
We do have the stock case files on github. And there's at least one person who recently shared some interesting CADs of a case they were thinking about maybe doing.
@marsh juniper is making a cool concept alu case for the 2HE
oh how much will the alu case be and when will it be out?
TBD.
Hopefully summer.
oh alright thanks!
Still in EVT?
(personal project) Still work in progress and no idea what i am doing
Wouldn't that technically be DVT? Not much engineering to be validated in an alu case.
True it’s a lot of machining validation.
Making sure that you can actually manufacture the thing.
At scale too
The prototype showed off at WootUp was functional, so I would assume the designers are still finalizing the design details before we proceed to a retail product test.
shrug
I just work customer support. I don't know the names of most of the companies we work with in China 😄
Lol
Assuming that the cases are Chinese made it’s probably not HAAS.
But they could use HAAS machines
Also I’m not sure if the company (wooting) makes the g-code and m-code and sends it to the manufacturer or the manufacturer just takes the model and approaches it their way.
That definitely sounds like the kind of question to ask Calder or Jeroen on the livestreams 😄
In body perhaps. Very busy week for everyone. I can't promise he'll actually check Discord at all.
Lolz
I mean, looking at the design, I can definitely make a few inferences as to how they would approach machining.
And more likely than not there’s definitely custom tooling (specifically part fastening devices) involved.
it doesn’t come w pads/feet
I really like that colorway. I heard the drop gmks are a bit lower quality though. Not positive
Tofu60's definitely come with feet pads but if yours didn't you can get replacement ones off Amazon. Just get a multipack of adhesive silicone feet/bumpers
it does come with it
i didn’t see it
thanks
Im lowkey mad they don’t have the nishi base kit
Its so nice
I really like the gmk posh set. Lol
I want to customize the plate and use it, can anyone share the original 60he plate drawing?
Ugh I should’ve ordered the grey klippe T instead of the black
Has anyone thought about a floppy case made of of rubber
So you can also bend your keyboard like your wrist rest
You could probably get a silicone one made pretty easily, but I feel like that would be terrible lmao
Also I don't think that would work super well with a tray mounted keyboard like this
cant bend the keyboard with a silicone case
need a bendy pcb for that and topplate
and we did show a silicone prototype at wootup
Update:
- tape mod (3layers)
- DROP White on Black Keycaps
- new Keychain
Looking to get a white tofu60 case
Is o-rings/burger mount the next step?
if do burger mount mod on klippe T, do I need to do something to the red area in this image?
Does anyone know if this keycaps will fit for the Wooting https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09PGBV3NV/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3B8IVWGLFVGQQ&psc=1
Most keycaps will
Nope
Aye that’s awesome to hear, thanks for letting me know
No, not in that configuration. You would need this one JSJT Custom Keycap-Keycaps 60 Percent, Suitable for GK61/GK64/RK61/Anne/GH60 /ALT61 Mechanical Keyboards, 71 Key Set, OEM Profile PBT Keycaps with Keycap Puller (Plum Blossom Keycaps) https://a.co/d/2Jr2vlG
Wym shine?
Ohh gotcha I appreciate it, I will def be sure to copp it then. That def looks better too I didn’t see that so thank you for plugging me
spray painted it 👍
Nope
Nice paint job.
Does it feel chalky at all?
Or did you apply a finish to it?
I spray painted the case with 2 light layers then very lightly sanded afterwards to smooth it out
Anyone have issues with coiled cables? And any recommendations for coiled cables that work well?
I see, usually I triple layer when spray painting lol.
Straight from the upcoming FAQ:
Q: Why is it recommended to use a 6ft(2m) or shorter straight cable with the 60HE? or Where can I find a coiled cable that works with the 60HE?
A: While almost any decently made USB 2.0 cable will work with the 60HE it's important to understand that the longer the cable, the higher the resistance. In order for the 60HE to sustain error free faster scan rates (Tachyon enabled) and power the keyboard LED's at their brightest setting, you need to ensure that you are using a quality cable with low resistance. If your cable is too long (this includes coiled cables that when uncoiled are typically much longer than 6ft) or made with inferior components, you may experience issues with Tachyon enabled and LED brightness set to maximum. You CAN use a coiled cable with the 60HE but you may need to turn Tachyon off or lower the brightness level of your LED's to 70% or lower.
This
Also there’s a really noticeable coil whine when you set the led brightness to 100 percent. Although I do have more sensitive ears than the average person lol.
Especially in a quiet environment it’s noticeable.
unlucky 🥲
What a day to have sensitive ears
98 percent of people will probably not even pick up the coil whine.
But I do.
🫠 u need to just experience more hearing loss
What do you use instead?
Lol, my roommate and my classmates can’t hear it. Lmao
Straight from the upcoming FAQ:
Another common mod is to change your keycaps. The stock 60HE keycaps are OEM profile but almost any profile keycap will work! Changing your keycaps can have a tremendous impact on the sound of your keyboard depending on the keycap material and profile. You can read more about keycap materials here - https://next.wooting.io/post/abs-vs-pbt-what-are-the-best-keycaps
There are also mods you can do to the keycaps themselves to change the sound lmao.
Any plastic can shine if you try hard enough
I actually add a little vibration putty to the underside of my spacebars quite often
Same lol
Also @edgy nexus in case this is your next question:
Q: I saw someone on youtube mention that I should turn my switches around to avoid interference with my keycaps because they are north-facing switches by default. Why do I need to do that and what’s the process?
A: Contrary to a few youtube videos, the overwhelming majority of today’s keycaps do NOT exhibit interference with the Lekker switches used in the Wooting keyboards. The original issue had less to do with keycap profiles and more to do with older mechanical switch housing designs. These issues have been resolved in almost all modern switch housing designs and that includes the Lekker switches. If you still want to swap your switches to south-facing, it’s simply a matter of removing the switch, turning it around and reinserting it. That’s it! If you want to learn more, please watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAppmiG484k
I wanted to talk about how new innovations in the keyboard space solved one of the biggest problems for beginners. North facing switches can finally sound good with cherry profile keycaps.
Switches used:
-#Gateron Black Ink V2- https://prevailkeyco.com/collections/gateron-switches/products/gateron-ink-black-v2?variant=42248379465982
-Gateron B...
Yeah, most new keycaps have No problems with both orientations.
But if it does cause issues, it doesn’t hurt to flip them.
Well it was actually a switch housing design problem and less a keycap design problem. Ive tested the Lekker switches with over 50 different keycaps and havent had interference on any of them yet.
It's easy to check with a small piece of paper, like whats being used in that video (I saved a few fortune cookie slips just for this haha)
is there any harm in switching them to south facing?
No harm at all, just a little less brightness on your LED's
gotcha, just probably unnecssary?
Thats been my experience
Does it need to be specific putty? Or just something that adds a bit of weight
Cheaper than buying foam kits and easier than trying to cram other stuff in there. This sticks great (feels like silly putty) and comes off clean.
Does anyone know if the length mentioned in the cablemod builder is the coiled length when stretched out? I want a coiled cable but I’m trying to keep it under 1.8 m.
i’d say R3 cherry profile keycaps (row with ASDF, etc.) has interference after doing a paper test
Finally got my second 60he sorted out. Both in Baka60 cases
I use that too! It easy to apply and remove and creates a nice thock for the spacebar 👌
Did you just put it in the spacebar? Or some of the other stabilized keys as well?
I cant speak for him but I just put some in my spacebar if I think it needs it.
Depends on the sound profile or feel I'm going for
Lol, same stuff I use too. Although I also do use it for what it’s made for.
Thank you 🙂 I must represent the Pink, White and Blue of the Breaking Bad flag 🏳️⚧️ 🫡
@jaunty rover
Nice, what keeb?
Freebird tkl
Ah, def looks like one.
Mine is just a grey with yellow accents
To match the 60HE color theme
That looks awesome, also by any chance are you an osu! gamer
Lol yeah, I see the drawing tab
I go for the plain pen. It’s already for rubber on it.
I also have a soft spot for white keebs, it's one of the reasons I've held on to my last 65%
Breaking Bad Flag
Only thing I don’t like about white keebs is how dirty they can get.
Or how obvious dirt and dust is on white keebs.
Ooh, nice!
Yeah fr I just painted this keyboard and I'm already cleaning it lmao

They asked
Thats the main reason I didn't go with Klippe or Tofu when I swapped cases. I prefer the lower angle and cherry lip
Yeah, the giant chamfers look very nice
you guys have more than 1 keeb?
I like to swap my keyboard every day of the week
yeah well I shouldnt have spend all my money on this fjell case
The Fjell is nice! Ive got one on my desk right now (although it's empty)
I gave 5 of mine away lol, now I’m down to just 2
I have 5 at the moment
I needed some shelf space back.
No, but I do have a good job.
I don’t think it’s worth the effort
They were really nice keebs too
i can only notice the coil whine when my ear is facing it
Like most of us in here, I have a problem. I have however reduced down to only 60% boards except for 1
From a space perspective I love 60% but yeah there are a few times when I like a 65%. Usually it's for dedicated arrow keys but I have 2 60% that have dedicated arrows on em
This Wooting is the first 100% keyboard I've used in years and it's weird to have actual arrow keys and a function row
You can get dedicated arrows on some 60% layouts
Yeah it does, look at the second pic, the brass keyboard
The ? is next to the up arrow
hi guys, dumb question, the 60he uses a 6.25u space bar right?
Yes
gonna get a nice resin artisan space bar from etsy
thanks
Cool
Just spacebar, my other keys feel pretty solid
I do. I live in NY. Marijuana is legal here. 😉
These are beautiful!
Does anyone have a good recipe to make a Fjell sound thockier? I’m running foam under the pcb and it doesn’t sound bad it’s just a bit flat and muffled
A sound test would be helpful! Also, what are your keycaps?
What’s the blue case? Is it 65% or just 60?
60%
Oh wait is it gasket mount?
It's a Midway60 if that helps
oooh
Oh gasket mount and center port lol. I love the look of it tho
@shell geode i have a soundtest for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqnsi08yY0E
idk if i asked but can the wooting 60he use film switching or no
I have, but I dont recommend it, as it is really a pain to put them on.
i want them to be firm i don’t like wobble and rattle sounds it makes @tall hollow
I mean, if it’s really bothering you, go ahead
But the stem will still wobble a little bit
It does sound flat. Did you do any other mods besides the foam? You might have to change one mod at a time to find out where what's making your keys sound muffled, especially your tab, caps lock, and shift keys, they sound like they have a cushion in them or really really lubed up. See my post for the mods I did: https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1097648230176673872
@tall hollow I ordered some films today that a user on reddit stated (and I quote) "The BEST switch films you SHOULD BUY for the Lekker's" so we shall see.
Please link those films!
can I see the reddit thread?
8 votes and 13 comments so far on Reddit
I actually commented to the OP that Ive never experienced wobble in my lekker housings and that Ive never had switch films make a noticeable change to stem wobble but that I was willing to buy some and try for myself as my goal is to provide the most accurate and honest information I can to you guys.
I also have polycarb films that have those led strip things cut out already.
nice
You guys can expect a full review from me with before and after stem wobble testing
@tall hollow do you have a sound test?
I've even got a fresh bag of virgin never mounted or lubed switches to test with so I should be able to do some solid comparisons
12 fresh switches?
Looks more than 12!
12 x6
oh shit
thats alot of switches
why so many?
although ngl they are pretty cool switches
i lubed my switches last night and i regret doing them at 11pm lol.
@tall hollow W they sound really nice did you add tape mod too and re used the foam?
made such a big difference for me
same case, and yes, 5 layers of tape.
Yup, re-lubing is definitely a must when wanting to adjust the sound
ofc
and just overall feel
I had to swap out the PCB of a finnicky 60HE and decided I'd get a fresh batch of switches to go with it since it'll basically be a complete rebuild.
now i regret only doing my spacebar.... i realized now that it sounds way better lol.
i’m tryna go for a “thock” sound so i guess 6-7 layers would be good in a alum case @tall hollow
nice!
now here i am again disassembling lmao
oh boy, thats gonna be very difficult.
my fingers hate me
@tall hollow how difficult
like, you're gonna have to do some crazy mods to have it thock.
Tape mod is known for creating more of a poppy sound
It is very difficult to achieve thock, because of the design of the switches
i have like 3-4 layers of tape on mine in the acrylic tofu and it sounds pretty good, i wonder if i add 2 more layers how much it will change the sound
From the soon-to-be-released modding FAQ:
Another commonly mentioned mod is the “Tape Mod”. The idea behind this mod is that applying tape to the bottom of your PCB will make the keyboard sound less muted and more “poppy”. This is a very simple mod and can be done with any quality painters/masking tape. Most users have reported that this mod does nothing for the sound of the Wooting 60HE and Wooting tried the mod themselves and had similar results. You can find that video here - https://youtu.be/6poF-Z0ajhE
like @somber scroll put silicone on the top housing and the stems of his switches.
even then it still has a clack, but closer to a thock than an unmodded switch.
you think holee modding the stabs is worth lol.
and the sound is extremely muted
try just lubing them first
I was thinking that heavier keycaps would help on the thock, but I'm also thinking that SA profiles could also help as well
@shell geode moving here so I don’t big the channel down but no other foam other than what I have in the keeb 😦
also it has a slight mushy feel.
Definitely if your stabs have rattle
Might be able to scrounge some foam lol
No worries! Just fill up what space you can, but of course not too tight that it's gonna press up against your pcb like crazy
I would say to have it sit flush with the standoffs
I should get some painters tape too
Yah tape mod too
if i use my gmk dualshot 2 keycaps, ill need to flip the switches right
Modding FAQ:
Often, users love the sound and feel of their keyboard out-of-the-box or have done some of the more impactful mods mentioned above and just want to make minor tweaks or changes to try and dial in a particular sound. One of the easiest ways to do this is to change the dampening material used in the keyboard. The stock dampening foam used in Wooting keyboards is fantastic, but you can fine tune the sound by choosing a different type of foam or even using a different material. Some of the more common choices are fire-resistant polyfill, silicone and closed cell foam. It’s important to remember that regardless of the material you use, you want to ensure that you keep the material far enough below the case stand-offs to avoid having the PCB pushing against the material when the PCB is installed. If the dampening material pushes against the PCB and causes flexing or warping, you will get input errors when typing. Also, the Wooting PCB does generate heat and giving it a little bit of room to breathe is ideal. If you want to see Wootings results of using silicone as the dampening material, you can find that video here - https://youtu.be/n6k2mpfPSxs
oh yeah, bending of the pcb or plate will cause issues.
it changes the distances between the switch and the sensor very slightly
and that slight difference will throw it off.
its also the reason why you shouldn't even consider a flexible plate for a wooting pcb
Once the FAQ is finished with peer review I'll create a read only FAQ channel and then we can just link people to it for 95% of the questions that come through daily
can we add to it?
Speaking of plates:
Q: Are there any aftermarket plates available or can I make my own plate?
A: There are currently no ready-made aftermarket plates available for the 60HE. However, Wooting has provided the CAD files needed to make one yourself or have one cut by a 3rd party. You can find those files at the following link - https://github.com/WootingKb/wooting-design
Bonus: If you are planning to make a plate yourself, it's advised that you use a very stiff material to avoid the plate flexing and causing erroneous inputs. Additionally, the plate needs to be securely mounted to the PCB with stand-offs to ensure the proper distance between the plate and PCB is maintained at all times. Wooting keyboards use a steel plate by default, and you can refer to this chart for the stiffness ratings of common plate materials:
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/984799440072220692/1100906535678394488/image.png
You can certainly send the edits to me to add but even my own information has to be reviewed internally first, but I'd welcome input and updates
yeah, because the FAQ will have to change as the keyboards and product landscape change
@shell geode @tall hollow i can still achieve it though right?
it is doable, but at the cost of the keyboards performance and feel.
I think it's possible, but like Ducky said, it may not perform or look the way you would want your build to your taste
I'm thinking of trying my SA keycaps and seeing how much deeper the keycaps alone would change, although I wouldn't want them on my 60he, they're too tall
Best bet for a thocky board is as @shell geode said, a thicker and higher profile keycap, a very solid/heavy/thick case and a lot of trial and error with your dampening material.
Using a desk mat also helps. Having the board rest on the desk can sometimes create vibration and echoes, depending on the material of the table (glass, composite, wood, marble, concrete, etc)
Only a savage doesnt use a deskmat
oof
You have proved my point! Savage!
so what’s the typical sound of modded wooting with just lubed switch’s film switches and foam + tape mod
and alum case
You just have to buy enough that you can rotate through them with each keyboard
or pick up one of these https://keebmat.com/
No way to answer that
@shell geode did you ever hear shrink your stabs? (Or maybe it was someone else who was gonna do that)
I never went back to cut a shorter length and re-shrink them. Funny enough, I actually just holee modded my spacebar and left shift stabilizer last night! I used bandaid this time and made sure to not overlap or the wire would be stuck in the housing. Solid so far and no rattle, of course!
Oh nice haha. Still the stock stabs? Or aftermarket?
Yup, still on the Durock stabs. If the bandaid comes off, I'll try re-shrinking a shorter length
I noticed that with the bandaid wrapped on the wire, it pushed out the medical tape I had applied in the stab housing, so it seems either one or the other, there's no room for both
Mekanisk just uploaded a YouTube video on how to swap the 60HE to the Klippe T: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq-H4KolQlI

noice
thank you very much for sharing
No problem! I'm sure it was going to make its way to this channel eventually, figured we'd share and/or pin it to answer the 'will it fit in klippe t' questions
we have never pinned a video from third parties... but I did share the video with staff 🙂
we got a baller here 😄
Oh okay!
Im looking forward to the final picture 🙂
I saw a vid of someone gummy o-ring mounting the wooting 60he into the klippe T. Anyone try this yet?
⌨️ Wooting 60HE & Klippe-T // Gateron Lekker lubed typing sounds
⌨️ Specs
• Keyboard : Wooting 60HE
• Case : Mekanisk Klippe-T
• Plate : Aluminum
• Keycaps : PBTfans WoB
• Switches : Gateron Lekker Hall effect
• Stabilizers : Plate mount
🛠 Mods :
• Switch lubed w/ Christo Lube MCG111
• Springs lubed w/ Krytox GPL105
• Switch filmed w/ Deske...
or anyone try gummy o-ring mounting in ANY case?
It would be neat if the wooting 60he has some under glow. Maybe in a furture version
cause then it'd look even cooler in acrylic cases
Iirc @stray tiger has done it. Not sure if they’ve done it in the klippe tho
Yes, I've posted a few videos in here of doing it with a number of cases, including the Klippe T
Wooting 60 HE in Klippe T special edition solid brass case using gummy o-ring friction fit mount
@shell geode could I dm you for some help with the baka
Hmm putting the foam in the baka and then trying to screw it in keeps ending up in the port leaning towards the right
Looks ugly but I wonder if this is ok
Oh, the baka only has 4 screw posts
okay had to position the pcb more to the left, the badseedtech video is a good one
Had to rip this piece off for the USB to fit through, maybe I’m just dumb
i thought i was going to have to remove some foam to fit the baka but i think so far so good
DM me!
oh okay, let me know if you need any help!
It's okay to remove that and work with whatever fits and doesn't press up so tightly against the pcb
Sounds good, after removing that smaller strip I was able to just drop it in so it fit the usb port
Thank you!!!
No problem! I have the PSD60 non-re version, so I think the interior spacing are similar
Nice just got mine in today, loving it so far!!
Nice!! 😀
I think I’m in the clear now! I dont know how much more clearance I have but I’m assuming 2 layers of tape would be okay
Honestly it sounds good to me now so that’ll be my excuse not to relube rn
Awesome, make a sound test video!
Nice, ended up removing middle screw and bottom screw 🙂
Good! Less holes to cut out of your foam 😅
Anyone here able to type 140WPM?
Yes
Geez, what's the fastest typing speed you've gotten? Struggling to get above 120+
Although with an accuracy of about 60% 😂
I got 2 friends who can hit 160 WPM it's insaaaane. Makes me feel so slow, I am forcing myself to type with my pinky as well. Been at it for about 2 years now with pinky typing
The "proper" way to type
Yeah I don't really use all 5 fingers on my left hand when I'm running monkey type.
Hmm interesting, good to know
Just years of bad typing habits
Yeah same here, been forcing myself to do it correctly, i'm not sure i'd say it's paying off. I've improved but to be honest in the past I feel like me typing without my pinky made me faster. 😮
will do!
@stray tiger just curious but what is your current wooting setup like?
how is aluminum weaker than carbon fiber or brass
Redid all the stabillizers and did the holee mod... my goodness its great lol, was definitely worth my time lol
Nice!! Glad it turned out for you!
Did your stabilizers feel more "sluggish" by any chance?
not that i notice. my left shift does feel a tad bit mushy compared to the others but thats probably my fault and put a little too much on that setr
set*
Did you re-lube just the wire or did you also lube the entire stab housing as well?
i redid everything cause i did the holee mod on them
I see, did you also use krytox 205g0 or did you end up using some sort of grease?
i used 3203 on the housings actually and used dialectic grease on the wires
Right on, that's awesome, bet it sounds a lot better
it sure does, lol.
I also put 5 layers of tape behind the pcb instead of 3
dont know if it really made that big of a difference but i am pretty happy with how it turned out,
I'm not sure if I'm picky or if my springs are too loose but typically when I lube the stabs I feel a slight "slugish" feel and I end up just removing most the lube.
Nice!
yeah i had to actually wipe some of the lube off from the shift button, it did help but it does feel a bit different
sound test
will try to record one and post in here soon
Yup, that's the one!
Does anyone know of a high quality Burgundy/red case for the wooting 60HE? That’ll be in stock soon or is in stock atm?
I have a friend who can hit 200 with 95 percent acc.
How do I determine if my new keycaps need the switches to be north- or southfacing?
You put them on. And if they scrape you need to swap them.
It shouldn't be an issue though - Gateron fixed the housings ages ago.
Okay, thank you! I’m gonna take the whole board apart for lubing etc so I wanted to avoid having to put on the keycaps twice, but I’ll do it to be sure. Appreciate it
what to do the usb c port broke
its like not connected to the black thing
Make a post over in the aforementioned channel and please use more words to describe the issue
and pictures if possible
ok
so it turns out i installed my pcb a little too far to the left. my tab key is hitting my case lol
time to re-do it
Saw a Fjell Wooting build on the subreddit, very interested in picking one up. How do you like yours so far?
just finished lubing for the first time on the wooting, lubed my space bar and now it feels like its travel is halved and sounds awful too. does any1 know what went wrong and how to fix it?
Make sure the stabilizer wire is set properly if you removed the stab.
Also make sure you pot the switch back together properly of course.
Um, i know this question has been aasked before but i ccant remeber the convo about it anymore
Are ther any third party policarbonate plates that fit the 60HE?
You need a custom plate made from scratch. It also needs to be very rigid. Steel levels of rigid. Otherwise it might interfere with the sensors.
Ah yeah, the sensetive sensors. I remember now. Well, thanks anyways :P.
Does holee mod mess up the sensors?
Holee mod only affects the stabilisers not the switches, so no
@stray tiger looks like i'm trying them out too
nice!
Can you clarify what you mean by 'enough'? And the zipfit works well as a foam insert. I had 4 layers in the Baka60 (2 in the cavity, and 2 more over the cavity) and it helped fill in any gaps and muted the sound 👍
that's what i need, if i had zipfit i definitely wouldn't have to worry about excess smooshing
ooh!
I didn’t mind the stiffer typing, it feels quite sturdy and that’s pretty good
@shell geode does this look okay to you? With the pcb showing? Redoing it rn though because my tab key is hitting the case
In my opinion it doesn’t as much to the sound as I would hope
well yeah the only big differnce is manual lubing
well ofc when the switches sound hollow af
cuz they arent closed
bc of tahe hole for the magnets
its a gaming keyboard doe
so its aight
That's spot on.
does anyone know if there is really much of a difference between the zipfit and included foam in person?
i cant notice much of a difference on video
thanks mansen! will only shift it slightly to the right then
A trick you can do is plug in a cable (not plugged in on the other side of course), so the plug can't go out of the slot.
The clearance is so small, third times the charm
Hello umm 👉👈
Will I void the warranty if I remove the ABS case and spray paint it?
I just wanna be one hundred percent sure lol
If nothing goes wrong? No.
TLDR; If you break something, your warranty on that thing is gone.
Lube a switch? That switch's warranty is gone, but the rest of the board* is fine.
As long as you're careful and follow sensible guidelines, you should be good.
We have videos on case swapping as well as full disassembly in the lubing video.
Got it, thanks for letting me know.
what case is this?
does anyone have any non-seethrough keycap recommendations?
K this is the best I can do
This looks good, but if you are still adjusting, loosen screws, you don't have to fully take them out and shift your pcb little by little
That looks good!
Baka60!
I’m just so anxious about messing with the port over time
Just treat the port better than your own phone charging port and you're good 😆
True true!
yeah. because it isn't really supported at all other than being soldered to the pcb.
slr, I haven't yet. Been handling a lot of other stuff financially atm
Yup, it's truly floating without some sort of support
yeah, its only slightly unfortunate.
Woo no more scraping
Nice!
like, they could hav used something like this
Just make sure not to rip out the zipfit in that area so the port can rest on the foam if needed
anyone know where to buy a tofu 60 version 1? haven't seem to be able to find a seller anywhere online
heck, even this could have worked.
Only place I know of: https://us.maxgaming.com/us/cases/tofu60-aluminum-case-60-e-white
klippeT is also an option
they don't got silver 😭

i’ve decided to film switch the switches ):
why the sad face? lol
didnt work?
when it was stock it was wobbly
and now it’ll take me like 3 hours to do everything @tall hollow
you're just filming the switches right?
Yeah sorry, I think it's just white
Welcome to keyboard modding 😅
@tall hollow @shell geode i’m doing the whole 8 mile
hmm?
film switches, case swap, lubing, and keycaps and tape mod
i just don’t want no rattling
oh boy, all that will take at least 2 days to complete
when i first opened it, it was nice for a stock keyboard but after a bit of gaming on it
performance is amazing but i feel i can make it sound better
i play a lot of fort and val @tall hollow
nice
anyone know if this site is legit? https://auramech.com/products/kbdfans-tofu-60-aluminum-case?variant=38156699336899

the only thing i’m waiting on is the case now 😅😅 i ordered it last min and it’s coming from yanwen so
cause when i spoke to ppl they said their keyboards took like 3 months to come in but mine came a little over a month which is really good but caught me by surprise ngl
nice
you guys ok w/ fjell still?
ofc if you use a fjell, you have a +10% chance to get non toxic teammates
Is this foam fine to put into my keyboard? Seems like it would be. Nice and thin
that is fine 🙂
sweet!
Palms are sweaty
you caught the reference @shell geode
Yup, it's a cheap and inexpensive foam to try! You can go only up from here 👍
8 mile on the autotrack
Yeah, like switch pads.
yeah i can fill in the cavity with like 2 layers of this foam and then add the wooting foam. hopefully that isn't too much
Looks legit! But no freaking way, I saw that they were selling Durock screw-in stabs V1 for $3! They must have sold out fast!
So true
it just seems like its really hard to make these switches sound good but im up for the challenge
looks like the owner took a break or something and put everything on sale
lol what did he do
Actually, I spoke too soon. This may be two years ago, but possible it's still an issue today: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/jsofrm/caution_against_ordering_from_auramech/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
He's having trouble fulfilling orders and communication is trash according to the top comment made by content creator Alexotos. I get that it's tough running a business, but he may have bit off more than he can chew
Damnn
Can't even checkout if I wanted to website just wont let you
Feels like tofu 60's are just as rare as gold now
It is hard and challenging, but worth trying like you said!
Yup, especially when you can mod with products from other brands, then the demand rises
and the bakas are running oos real quick
https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/1336qbh/cabc_h_tofu_60_case_silver_w_paypal_cash/
if you're in CA or dont mind the shipping @summer kettle
The keyboard building community is growing and now everyone wants to build their own board now, so it's not just Wooting coming out with the 60he that's making cases sell out
I'm from Ireland 😭
But thank you for the link!! ❤️
$70 and posted 8 minutes ago?? You should jump on this!
Oh dang, just read that you're in Ireland
F
Yep, still the best case available
why do people like that case so much
Best build quality, best finish quality and heaviest case
I bought it in purple but still haven’t tried it
Because it looks like a short mountain
Well 2nd heaviest case 😆
dont like it personally
i think the Klippe is the best choice if you got the money
Fjell literally means mountain 😉
The shape is a bit weird to me though lmao
Thanks for the response! Have you done any mods to it at all? And can you elaborate on what you mean by how it types stiff?
i agree
Visual preference has no bearing on what makes a case "the best" though
I refer the clean look of tofu style cases
the klippe has the same "build quality" lol
They are made by the same guys
dont understand the appeal on the fjell
i know thats why im confused
Same finish quality, not same build quality or weight
Different design really.
Very pricey tho
Brass weight
Makes sense
I tape modded it and lubed the stem but thats all
Fjell weighs almost 3x as much, the brass weight is a nice touch for both acoustics and weight
Also doesn’t move around as much when you use it.

That company has a 65% case, right?
I believe so
I've got a kbdfans67 case id eventually would like to upgrade from
1kg is 2.2 lbs right
I won't lie, I played on 60% and I didn't enjoy the productivity experience on a 60% compared to a 65%
i dont understand why someone would want something bulkier, and thats without the pcb switches etc
I have 2 setups currently. One is in a kind of unique lower profile Fjell style case in gunmetal gray with a brass weight and the other is in a limited edition solid brass Klippe case that weighs over 8lbs. I'm working on a 3rd build right now using a polycarbonate top mounted case called the Sirius 60
Playing games on 60% is fine, the typing for me isn't as satisfying, but that could be because I didn't give myself time with it
Oh snap!! That’s actually amazing. Fully brass case. I’d be interested in one of those If they re-release
looks just like the tofu, clean logo, bulky, no unnecessary pockets
It was a run of only 30 units done back in 2019 with no plans to ever do it again. It's def heavy!
My own custom designed case im thinking about milling myself out of solid steel.
I bet. Very unique to have something like that, is it like a brass color as well or does it have some paint over it?
It's nickel plated brass so has brushed brass (silvery gold look). Let me find a photo
the other case looks like a lower profile fjell
Very nice
that would be dope as fuck
how would it look
pure sex
@tall hollow you should do what this guy did and just go oring mount https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XFBIqrewXU

he has the cad files already and he was nice when we talked
basically took the Bakaneko60 case and moved the USB port to the left to fit DZ60/GH60 boards
@lethal temple have you received your Sirius60 plate yet and did you make the mods to the plate file yourself?
How much was that 😦
Just started to ship from hong kong, took around 2 weeks to manufacture
I did make the plate file myself so it may not match the exact dimensions so I will test it and message you when I do
I bought it from an original owner. I think the original price was $300 for the case and the last time I saw some hit the used market was 2yrs ago and they both went for almost $600 each
Oh nice, mind shooting me the plate file? I can quickly compare to some others I have
That's more reasonable than I would have expected tbh
Yeah, just the materials alone make them worth a ton (pun intended). I expect they would still go for $600+ if one ever pops up.
Hmm, where can I find these o rings?
But I want to make something that is truly my own.
These are the ones I use - https://graveshift.com/products/graveshift-m-o-rings
For sure, just letting you know someone has already done something similar if you wanted to save some time and money
@tall hollow i would build it
i know it seems counterintuitibe to make something you can buy already made and that works, but thats the whole point. you make something with your own hands and thats more meaningful, at least to me
I have my own machines and I have Fusion,
what hardness of O rings do you use?
I should have you CNC me a few plates then! Cant do countersinking on laser cut plates unless they are like 3 times as thick as a plate should be
I prefer the 45-50a hardness but thats a personal thing
lol, my mill unfortunately cant do plates
it will chatter like crazy
@woeful prairie has tried a few different hardness ones as well and may have some advice for you
ah, thanks!
what material would you like to see the plate made out of @stray tiger
or @tall hollow
Carbon Fiber might be a nice change up. Almost as hard as steel. The ones Ive had made so far have all been aluminum or brass though.
would it change the acoustics meaningfully\
yeah Carbon fiber
Sure, different plate materials have different sound characteristics
3d printed carbon fiber is a thing.
dont think thats possible
well see they cheat a little bit, its a mix of carbon fiber and nylon.
like most polycarb sheets
why does the plate need to be so stiff again
Ive not had any CF plates made because its expensive. I can have 3 aluminum plates made for the same cost as 1 CF plate
so it doesnt mess with the hall sensors
what if i get my friend whos a professional 3D designer to make it
and mass man. would you buy it
So can 100 other places
has worked on porsches
I use these guys https://sendcutsend.com/
yooo
i know about send cut send from superfastmatt
guys dope as fuck
did you send them the file or are you waiting
They have cut over a dozen plates for me
I have heard of them, but I just went for a local facility before I got my waterjet.
because the lead times are way faster.
I'm assuming that the harder the material, the harder the typing experience, and the softer the material, the softer the typing experience.
Pretty much. Software rings are also a little thicker and absorb vibration a bit more. I think I'm using a 35 or 40a right now
could check using the color
tryna achieve something softer, so im looking at some softer o-rings
I couldn't find a sirius60 plate file so I hand measured the tab dimensions from the included pom plate. I decreased the size of each tab and increased the hole size incase my measurements were not exact
The plate file is available in their discord my man (it's pinned)
ahhh, classic information that you can't find on google because people use discord
I might go 40A
can you send me the plate file by any chance? thanks
it says its deleted
is anyone here interested in SFF slash ITX pcs
anyone have any recommendations for a lower profile keycap set - dont care for backlighting and kinda prefer blank
love the board and the switches but i cant get comfortable with the default keycaps
they feel too tall and weirdly grip my fingertips (doesnt have as matte of a feel as id like)
might actually be the opposite and its too matte/grainy idk how to explain it lmao
my other keyboards feel a lot better personally
XDA profile keycaps; they’re not sculptured like the default OEM profile or cherry profile caps
ill look them up ty
they’re pretty low and they’re flat
what other keyboards specifically?
what type of keycaps do they have?
i use a moonlander and a kbd75 but i cant remember what set i put on the kbd
theyre about half hte height of the wooting default ones
is it cherry profile?
i believe you’re referring to cherry profile keycaps which are essentially shorter oem profile keycaps (kinda)
i think my kbd actually has dsa after looking up the profile comparisons
theyre very low compared to wooting and p much completely flat
ill look a bit more into them
tyvm for hte help
driving me crazy because i really like the board but the keycaps are borderline unusable for me
too used to lower profile i think
i personally don’t mind them since i’m accustomed to oem profile keycaps from previous boards
i feel the same way as you lol, not sure what type of keycaps i got on my board but the smaller keycaps are appealing to me
are you rocking any blank keycaps now and if so how do you like them
not on my wooting but i have blanks on my moonlander and i like them, never been one to look at the board while i type
Haha bro I learned to touch type with blanks lol
Can you show me a picture?
Does any type of modding compromise the warranty?
Ask in general @spark beacon
I believe that if you mod something and it no longer works, you've voided that warranty. And if you re-lube the switches, that warranty is also gone. But if it's as simple as case swapping, as Wooting has released guide videos on it, you should be fine.
Actually, at least in the US, modifying a product cannot void the Warranty
One of the weird cases of the US warranty system being better than the EU
The rare case, because in all other aspects the EU Warranties are 10x better
In what way?
Seems intuitive, Thank you mate!
I don't remember if Wooting's video on re-lubing the switches has a disclaimer in it though, it probably does
Yeah Mkilbride just said lubing switches violates the warranty
Can’t trust a guy that can’t spell milk
Dumb question but how do I know if I’m using too much foam?
Where are you using it
that took way too much effort
Wait until you try Sorbothane
are you using the wooting foam with it?
I was starting to have to push down to much to even find the thread
Didn’t wanna risk anything
Nope, the Sorbothane is like 1/4" thick so it's my standalone case foam
You should get some zipfit from Target, or go back to the Wooting foam and use just the bigger layer
Soon TM
Yeah
I’m using both the wooting foam and the foam I found but might do that
I just got my full size and regret not getting the wrist rest. Does anyone recommend any you can get off amazon that fit well with the keyboard? I don't want to pay duties and have to wait so long again
Spray-painted 60HE case :)
nice! what keycaps?
