i tried daily driving linux mint on a laptop before and i liked how you can do basically everything in CLI, but disappointed in the UI, it felt janky and not very customizable. Also less software for it compared to windows

idk i think linux is still only good for servers and shit, its not a good option for everyday use

Linux is only really good if you need the utility it brings on the daily.

It can super work as a gaming/content consumption OS, but for almost every application that isn't tech heavy windows works.

And for when you need light linux you can either just slap on Hyper-V or dual boot.

havent used it myself, only know of one neat feature, coworker is making some server software in visual studio, he can directly target WSL as build target and debug it that way too, without taking more than a couple minutes to set that all up

Yes, Aurora was originally not an exascale project.
But it has been one for many years, and SPR was going to be used in Aurora for almost that entire time.
