It can. The brightness flicker in this case is not from low refreshrate, it only happens when you are close to the max. I run my OLED at 170 FPS capped and it doesn't flicker.

you can use ltpo to have the panel to refresh itself, but the clock of the ltpo or the display refresh cant change easily

Look man. I had this screen for over a year now. I am very sensitive to any kind of image anomalies be it flicker, jitter or corruption such as scanlines or undersampling. I have run many tests including Gsync and color at any refreshrate you can think of. I have played on this monitor probably more than any other screen I kept around. And there was not a single time where I noticed any kind of such issue aside from the 30hz flicker.

I would've returned the screen otherwise. I do not tolerate nonsense on displays.

4K ultrawide seems good enough for me and 8K will be too much of a hassle even for games that I play.

I had a 32 inch 4k monitor and while good I was still disappointed that it wasn't as sharp as I had hoped.

Much better than 1440p but it still easily has room for improvement.
