GNOME Devs do not add anything unless they have a flawless (to them) way of implementing it

pastel nacelle
#

ima save this

steep creek
#

kde in one year probably adds more than gnome does in 10

FACTS

pastel nacelle
#

I wonder how manafacturers make CanBUS work.

tidal basin
#

They perform magic that no one else can, cause they produce the hardware 😉

wheat plume
#

Would it be ok to do the install process for Bazzite while the Deck is docked? or should I do it on the handheld directly?

pastel nacelle
#

Was talking to haltech and they were telling me if I wanted tuning support I had to translate all the communication pulses.

tidal basin
#

İ think its actually smart to do it while docked so it doesnt deplete the charge

#

but.... i dont have any deck so...

wheat plume
#

and I think my mouse will work in the BIOS too because the OS technically sees it as wired, cause of the dongle

#

that being said, Plasma desktop sees it as wireless....

pastel nacelle
#

how long u guys spend on linux os making stuff work O.o?

tidal basin
#

That kind of questions is best to ask in the Bazzite discord... there are more ppl their with your harware etc

wheat plume
#

We arent making stuff work, im just transfering my shit to a HDD xd

rigid adder
#

is it a problem if i write something unrelated to tech

wheat plume
#

is this channel, sort of xd

ashen spindle
#

put it in the channel it makes the most sense

tidal basin
#

Especially Lutris for gaming

wheat plume
#

The cancell button being next to the expand button is AGONY

#

I accidently stopped the transfer of Overwatch because I misclicked

pastel nacelle
#

lol

#

I have ptsd of that in gacha games

tidal basin
#

try RSYNC.... it will just continue where it left over..

wheat plume
#

so does dolphin if you tell it skip anything already in the folder

unkempt lake
#

@wheat plume i feel like you spend more time fucking around with linux than actually using your steam deck sometimes

wheat plume
#

Nah xd

pastel nacelle
#

Upgrade Material + Cash Shop + Munnie

#

manually had to add it in

unkempt lake
wheat plume
#

yep xd

pastel nacelle
#

accidentally destroy a $300 piece of armor

unkempt lake
#

You post at least once a day about a random linux issue

wheat plume
#

I spend most time on the Deck in desktop mode

#

issue?

#

such as??

ashen spindle
tidal basin
pastel nacelle
#

I have very little knowledge about Linux OS.

pastel nacelle
#

I'm learning :D

tidal basin
#

i only have like 40+ years of experience lol

wheat plume
#

Luckily, I havent had much issues on Linux, its relatively pain free in my experience, especially compared to the amount of issues I had on Windows

unkempt lake
#

because if it had been from her shit i'd be like the fuck are you doing to your poor linux install

wheat plume
#

ooor?

#

oh xd

pastel nacelle
#

(I'm not I'm just being nosy and curious; I'm also watching anime. I just think what you guys are doing is neat)

tidal basin
#

curiosity for knowledge is a bless some ppl never will taste

pastel nacelle
#

learning tastes like pennies

tidal basin
#

like copper? 🤣

fickle ore
#

nickel and dime

tidal basin
#

eeewww...electolite

pastel nacelle
#

Like when I study a recall procedure. My brain feels fuzzy and it makes the air smell/taste different.

tidal basin
#

for me it tastes better as a chocolate cake with cherry on top with icecream 😄

pastel nacelle
#

I have tasted coins and batteries in my youth.

#

i may have also eating a watch battery or few at some point.

tidal basin
#

i have also, thats why the eew

halcyon moss
#

Wtf

wheat plume
#

how are you not dead?

pastel nacelle
wheat plume
#

😅

tidal basin
#

for those that never tasted a batery: wet your finger and hold a battary, then taste the tip of the battery with your tongue

pastel nacelle
#

although i do have a umbilical hernia

#

that i am now concious about since my MRI

wheat plume
#

a wat

pastel nacelle
#

no idea what it mean

wheat plume
#

...why did I use dd?! I have the Etcher appimage

tidal basin
#

go left joe...err biden

fickle ore
#

weekends are boring

#

no tech news or stock news

tidal basin
#

sure there is

#

NEWS FLASH: There is NO NEWS 🤣

fickle ore
#

there should be no weekends just 24/7 grind

tidal basin
#

There should be only fridays...

halcyon moss
#

Friday afternoons

fickle ore
#

I guess if u work for govt

tidal basin
#

Fridays aree good for all

fickle ore
#

in private friday afternoons are worst for me, always gotta finish up shit and get to leave at 17:00 pm

tidal basin
#

İf you work acoarding to your planning, you dont need to hurry on fridays

#

The prospect of a weekend after the day (Fridays) is what makes it a nice day for most

wheat plume
#

Oh WTF

#

Xhci is default setting though? I think

tidal basin
#

LMAO, did you write the iso to your DECK?
İtis just to install the OS, its not a live USB

wheat plume
#

I wrote it to USD drive
Then gonna boot from USB
And install to decks ssd

tidal basin
#

ahh ok

#

isnt that screen from the image download webpage?

wheat plume
#

That's what I do for any OS I install

wheat plume
tidal basin
#

ahh ok

#

so whats the issue now then

wheat plume
#

Nothing

tidal basin
#

👍

wheat plume
#

Gonna plug the USB drive into the dock and boot from it
Hopefully dd did it's job correctly

tidal basin
#

did you do a sha check of the iso you downloaded?

wheat plume
#

No

#

Maybe I should

tidal basin
#

always check downloads for errors before writing them to usb

#

they dont provide the shasums for nothing 😉

halcyon moss
#

Can't believe http doesnt have that built in by now

tidal basin
#

it has todo with the internet connection

halcyon moss
#

Then again, getting chunk errors with tls is harder than without

tidal basin
#

there are so many layers of error checks when you use the internet...and they all are needed so lol

wheat plume
#

How long does he check take??.

halcyon moss
#

It has to read the whole file

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

Oh
Welp
It's 8gb

tidal basin
#

reading is faster as writing...dun worry

halcyon moss
#

Some usb sticks are atrociously slow though.. Especially the freebies

tidal basin
#

but...you need to check the İSO file not your USB...

#

oflag=sync should take care of write errors

#

plus...İİRC, you should be able to media check after booting from the USB also

#

its a boot option i think

wheat plume
#

ayoooo

#

Dolphin is best file manager...

tidal basin
#

i normally use shasum -c SHASUMFİLE

halcyon moss
tidal basin
#

its Linux comand line commands 😉

#

oh wait you mean what he used in dolphin lol

halcyon moss
#

She *

wheat plume
#

Steam deck bios

tidal basin
#

he she...we all IT on internet 😛

#

DELETE your post...it contains your serial

wheat plume
#

Oops

tidal basin
#

👍

wheat plume
#

This looks right

tidal basin
#

Keep in mind i cant help in detail as i dont have any deck

#

i can just help in general

balmy vector
#

Oh? Whats going on here

wheat plume
tidal basin
#

am still a newb with bazzite also..

wheat plume
#

Perfect

tidal basin
#

ahh see the media check i mentioned?

balmy vector
#

Ah lana activities, always fun to watch

wheat plume
#

Oh gosh
The deck screen is also enabled
And sideways...

tidal basin
#

yea that will correct afterwards İİRC

wheat plume
#

Oh this sucks.... The installer showed up on the Deck display
Not my monitor

Damn it

tidal basin
#

after the correct drivers are used

#

your system will need to reboot after the install...

wheat plume
#

The installer is orientated right
Just on the Deck screen and not my monitor

tidal basin
#

İİRC that will fix itself after you boot from the installed version...

#

if not: Bazzite discord for the rescue...

#

there are plenty there with the deck

#

even the maintainer if im right

wheat plume
#

My monitor does have the standard gnome grey background color currently

#

So the deck does know it's connected

Just the deck is probably set as the primary display currently

tidal basin
#

just try to continue and finish the install

#

then check after a fresh boot from it

wheat plume
#

It won't be a problem
Linux is well able to handle multiple monitors

#

God
I wish I had brightness control

tidal basin
#

The install process checks for available hardware to install correct drivers...

wheat plume
#

Yeh
It's all good

#

I configured my hostname and made a user account
And told it to install to the entire deck SSD
Reclaiming the space already taken by SteamOS

tidal basin
#

lol at all those screenshots...might as well do a live video session 🤣

wheat plume
#

Xd

#

This won't cause burn in on my deck???
Having the deck at full brightness on a mostly white screen?

ashen spindle
#

lana oled doesnt break after a few minutes...

wheat plume
#

It's gonna be at least 15 minutes for install

final flame
#

it won't happen over 15 minutes

wheat plume
#

Ook...

final flame
#

it more takes days on days

pastel nacelle
#

steam deck doesnt have brightness options?

wheat plume
#

It does

pale sigil
#

It does

wheat plume
#

But not in the live session where I currently am

pastel nacelle
#

screen saver :3

tidal basin
#

İmagine installing MS.... with its screens...

wheat plume
#

Yeh.... Lol no

#

2 hours on the oobe screens

tidal basin
#

🤣

wheat plume
#

I was correct in assuming my mouse would work on the bios

tidal basin
#

all well behaving USB devices should work... they all HİD devices for the BİOS..

final flame
#

damn, that sure is a color option

ashen spindle
#

why would it not work, you are installing a different os not a different board firmware

wheat plume
#

Cause wireless mice typically don't work on the BIOS

final flame
#

mine does

ashen spindle
#

first I heard of that

wheat plume
#

Yours uses a dongle?
That's why it works

tidal basin
#

Only BlueTooth devices should have problems cause they need to be paired first..

final flame
#

well ofc, why wouldn't you use a dongle, bt sucks

wheat plume
#

Facts

#

I don't have a choice either my mouse or controller
They don't have bt

pale sigil
#

Bluetooth is sooooooo bad

wheat plume
#

I'm ok with that though

#

Install done
Rebooting now

tidal basin
#

super

wheat plume
#

Kargs?

pale sigil
#

New distro of the month?

tidal basin
#

install Discord also... and chat via bazzite to show it works 😄

wheat plume
#

Ofc imma install discord :')
I had that on SteamOS too

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

Gonna run the updates first though

#

And connect to WiFi....

tidal basin
#

also need to run software update and download like 3GB for latest version...and reboot again

#

in your favorites app menu

pale sigil
#

Oh so you are installing a new distro

wheat plume
pale sigil
#

Sounds about right for you

tidal basin
#

thats a script that will run in a terminal...and update all thats needed

wheat plume
#

Definitely enabling this

#

I want my udev rules right out the box xd

tidal basin
pale sigil
wheat plume
#

Yep

pale sigil
#

That's awesome!

final flame
#

I hate rgb stuff, it never works for me
I tried so hard to get aurora to work but it just refused to

wheat plume
#

Oh
This comsd with GSconnect pre-installed
Hell yeah

tidal basin
#

those are extra software that will be overlayed on the base image

pale sigil
#

Ye but it's part of the install I'm guessing

wheat plume
#

This is the initial setup after install

pale sigil
#

Ye

#

That's what I mean, pretty dope.

tidal basin
#

its the "customisation" step...

#

As you see Bazzite is an immutable OS but still able to be customised 😉

wheat plume
#

Oh I can install prism launcher 💜

tidal basin
#

Just try and when not happy just reinstall 🤣

wheat plume
#

I forgot to log out of my Microsoft account on prism launcher in SteamOS ffs

tidal basin
#

Dun worry...your login has gone if you have overwritten your steamOS

#

or at least its not active untill you login in bazzite also

wheat plume
#

Ooooo
This supports VRR on the desktop
YAY!!!!

#

SteamOS only had it on game mode

tidal basin
#

i keep hearing YAY hahaha

wheat plume
#

Bazzite is best so far
Though the install is taking ages

#

For the apps I selected

tidal basin
#

You will like it more and more after use...

wheat plume
#

My Wi-Fi is super slow

#

They have a half-life 2 wallpaper pre-installed LOL
I'm using this xd

tidal basin
#

uhmmm wifi...yea that could be a problem due to drivers provided by intel i guess

#

fckn intel with their halfass drivers

wheat plume
#

No
My Wi-Fi is mega slow cause I'm running from phone hotspot

tidal basin
#

ahh ok

wheat plume
#

It's always slow cause mobile data

tidal basin
#

my wifi chip is İntel and it has disabled 6GHz band...

rare prism
#

does anyone know how to fix my mechanical keyboard switches feeling "mushy" and not as tactile anymore?

#

i have red cherry mxes if that helps

ashen spindle
wheat plume
#

...I accidently enabled to install all the browsers

rare prism
#

thats for wooting related products though

tidal basin
rare prism
#

80he is unfortunately delayed as hell xD

wheat plume
#

VRR 💜💜

rare prism
tidal basin
#

needs some ice in my water, brb

steep creek
#

honestly i thought it wouldnt happen but im starting to like kde more than gnome

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

I like the elegance of gnome
And the dynamic workspaces

rare prism
wheat plume
#

Better workflow imo

steep creek
#

yeah true gnome looks great

#

for laptops its fantastic

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

And for touchscreen devices gnome is wonderful too
Full touchscreen gesture support 💜

tidal basin
#

im using KDE on bazzite

wheat plume
#

Fair enough

tidal basin
#

almost there...
then do the software update as i told via the app menu...in favorites

wheat plume
#

From here?

tidal basin
#

your menu might look different yea

wheat plume
#

Was wondering why the Overview looked different
They have Blur My Shell enabled and the Search Box hidden

tidal basin
#

you use Gnome desktop, i use KDE

wheat plume
#

What is that smaller window? Firefox pip?

#

Bazzite Portal?

tidal basin
tidal basin
#

The software update i mentioned will open a terminal with a script to run inside to update all needed software

wheat plume
#

Yup
Doing that now

tidal basin
#

👍

wheat plume
#

Reboot time

tidal basin
#

İF im right auto updates are enabled by default so you will be downloading a lot in background sometimes without doing anything your self.
İ disable that and run the software update manually when i want self...

wheat plume
#

Will it boot to game mode now?

tidal basin
#

no idea just check to see

wheat plume
#

I just got jumpscared by the startup sound.... LOL

tidal basin
#

i use desktop mode only on my PC... no deck or gamemode

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

Nice
But loud

tidal basin
#

hahaha

#

can tweak that in settings i think... system sounds volume somewhere

wheat plume
#

I didn't expect a boot up sound :')
The only distro I used that had that was DeepinOS

#

And windows 11....

#

It's on the bazzite logo screen
Idk what it's doing

tidal basin
#

all have it but not enabled by default you need to configure it yourself.
They just did that also for you 😛

wheat plume
#

:')

tidal basin
#

bazzitge updates at bootup...

wheat plume
#

Aha
Got to steam deck setup

#

And suddenly rebooting

tidal basin
#

Because of the immutable version it needs to update at boot, you can download the update but the actual update is only at reboot

wheat plume
#

Yeh
Fedora Workstation does that too!

#

Oh
That's interesting
Installing Bazzite preserved my Vram settings

tidal basin
wheat plume
#

But that's the internal SSD

tidal basin
#

most likely yes

#

isnt that where you installed bazzite to?

wheat plume
#

Yeh

#

Why's it showing up twice in the storage settings?

#

Internal Drive is also the SSD

tidal basin
#

🤷‍♀️ Thats steam...

wheat plume
#

Steam is being wack...

#

I can't format that cause that'll be bad... Xd

tidal basin
#

İMHO steam is like a 2nd MS... sometimes

#

bad coding all over...but nice for gaming 🤣

wheat plume
#

Xd

#

So just try to ignore this?

#

My OCD is going crazy though

tidal basin
#

yea why not, dont have any other choice lol

wheat plume
#

True...

#

I'm curious what would happen if I told it to format the drive ....
But I don't wanna do a reinstall now
Too tired
I want bed

tidal basin
#

PS: Lately...last few years im purely gaming using Lutris...

wheat plume
#

I haven't used Lutris much tbh

#

All the games I play are on steam

tidal basin
#

np

wheat plume
#

Last time I used it was two years ago or so
Confusing AF UI

#

Hopefully it's better now

tidal basin
#

you need to get used to using it i guess

wheat plume
#

Thank fuck I backed up my options file for Minecraft

tidal basin
#

Anyhow...go sleep...then tomorrow when you wake up...start your download for a game and try out

#

0:30 in night also here

wheat plume
#

I don't need to download

tidal basin
#

lets hope 🤭

#

晚安我也要睡觉了... 🖖

wheat plume
#

I'm listening to the distance soundtrack while the games update

#

Why can't I select steam Linux Runtime 3 for my games??
Only version 1 is available despite 3 being downloaded also

#

Game mode is a lot smoother on Bazzite

#

O.o
They removed the Updates tab from Gnome Software

#

Pro Tip

To change the volume step in Gnome, you disable Default Value and can enter whatever you want inside this page in Dconf Editor

smoky frigate
#

I installed windows 11 LTSC preview and it's pretty good

balmy vector
#

Oh they made it?

smoky frigate
#

yeah you can get a preview iso pretty much anywhere

balmy vector
#

Huh, didnt know UmbreonThinkin

smoky frigate
#

I never used regular 11 but this is actually nice. though it feels more like a linux desktop than it does windows 😛

#

you can actually find stuff now and it's not apocryphally hidden like in 10

balmy vector
#

Ok, that sounds pretty nice compared to base 11

smoky frigate
#

yeah I can see myself using this for a while actually

balmy vector
#

Guess when i swap to amd soon ill grab that iso

wheat plume
#

TIL muse dash doesnt like being played on a VRR enabled display, it gets stuttery.... xd

pastel nacelle
#

wut

balmy vector
#

With uncapped fps?

wheat plume
#

yeh

ashen spindle
#

How many frames do you get

wheat plume
#

not sure, forgot to enable the FPS counter in steam

#

Right???
SteamOS is Arch based
It shouldn't be as outdated as it is

#

Ok
Secure Boot enrollment
That's very nice
A lot of distros don't do this

stable sedge
#

what kind of stabs are in my 60he? i don't have the new plate that they released a while back

wheat plume

I like distrobox

Isn't yt Music desktop meant to block ads?

#

Im curious did artisan upgrade their mousepad weave materials to the new dust resistant weave? I remember seeing boardzy mentioning they were going to do that. I’m not sure if it has happened yet though.

#

All of them?

#

I’m uncertain on exactly what he meant

#

It could of just been the zero soft

#

I think it was because he was talking about the zero pad

hey y'all, I am looking to upgrade my mouse to the Razer Viper v3 Pro but its quite pricey and I'm not totally sure i need it. I currently am using a Pwnage Ultra custom Symm 2 and like the mouse but it is 73g compared to the razers 53g. What do you think I should do?

sudden imp
#

Looking into it, I think he mentioned in a video awhile ago that artisan was implementing something that was going to help with their pads spill/dust resistance. I think he mentioned a new material? He said his boardzy pad or what not will be using it.

round pumice
#

hello, is there an option in the wooting software to test the key travel of every key?

#

because in the "racing" mode the F bar only travels the half way when I press the the CTRL key. So I want to check if that is only a profile setting or the switch is broken or needs to be calibrated.

tidal basin
#

i personally have no idea still need to get mine...

#

but imho it most likely is a profile setting thng

round pumice
#

I want to verify that before the warranty/return policy runs out.

nimble canopy
#

There is a rgb effect that can show you

round pumice
#

that one I described above?

nimble canopy
#

Yes

round pumice
#

Ok, and if that indicates only a half travel, the switch is broken?

#

but why don't they include a diagonstic screen for that?

steady sail
round pumice
#

okay thanks

tidal basin
#

@round pumice logically thinking:
The keys on the wooting are analog switches so thery either function or not at all, they are not like normal switches that do on/off...

nimble canopy
#

If switches are not fully functional its mostly just bad calibration just re plugin the keyboard fixes it

round pumice
#

I reseated the switch, it gets now the full travel now

fair gull
round pumice

roughly 9hrs ago yes

I mean... at least it's Twitter. Not like whatever they post can be worse than what Twitter has on a daily basis.

round pumice

they should attend some security classes

fair gull

well there is active scams being posted and removed constantly to avoid annotations from the community

round pumice

fair gull

id imagine this was some tokenstealer

given theres 2fa on twitter

#

and me hoping theyd not fall for spear fishing

round pumice
#

yes but how did they get to the tokens?

#

xss?

fair gull
#

someone ran some exe or such on a pc where twitter was logged in

reef patrol

I'm sure they're doing a video on the how and why soon enough.

fair gull

theres no real info on what happened so its all speculation

reef patrol

Can't pass up an opportunity for content and admoney

round pumice
#

as such a big target they should use linux or bsd for the online stuff

fair gull
#

because they are tech youtubers not security researchers

reef patrol
#

Even security researchers can fail - because you ultimately cannot built an entire company on one kind of person.

#

The challenge is walling up access to things where there's a risk - human error 😄

wheat plume
latent mural

you can surely be fooled once, that's normal for anybody. Being fooled twice may raise a question...but if third time, well, you're just bad at tech then

Maybe keep the pitchforks stashed till they have an actual update out on the matter?

#

It's... it's not even early morning in the Americas.

wheat plume
reef patrol
#

(I hope so - Because the alternative is worse)

wheat plume
#

Hmm?

reef patrol
#

You can accept cookies and block them.
If this is ruled illegal, then companies will have to either spend even more resources on making ads unblockable to make money from ad revenue - or outright paywall the website.

wheat plume
#

Hmm....

round pumice
#

Or accept and discard them asap

ashen spindle
#

that is what mansen talked about...

wild coyote
#

No more freedom on the internet ig

#

All this for their paychecks

ashen spindle
#

do you want people to host websites for free out of their pocket?

marsh glade
#

Why in tarnation does your server nickname include your email address?

wild coyote
#

I have a computer, I've got many ways to do it.

ashen spindle
#

so your electricity and upload is free? as well as the cost to properly maintain the hosting so you dont turn it into a pc thats becoming part of a botnet etc.?

wild coyote
#

Crazy how you wouldn't think that power efficiency isn't a thing

#

And my internet costs 1 euro

ashen spindle
#

efficent isn't the same as free

wild coyote
#

Efficient is saving money

#

If I'm using my PC, might as well do something along with hosting

#

Or I could get a Raspberry Pi 4 model

ashen spindle
#

if its a site that has cookies to cache data its more than just a simple html website, you want to self host that so thousands of people access the site and it runs without issues?

wild coyote
#

Uses small amount of power, can run 24/7

#

And websites don't really need like 1 gigabit internet xd

#

Unless it's a tech company with downloads

ashen spindle
#

if you have thousands of people accessing it you need a lot of upload to saturate it still

wild coyote
#

They take bytes

#

Many many bytes

#

It won't overwhelm my internet

ashen spindle
#

so the site that video is about, the html alone is half a megabtye, that's without running any of the javascript code or the fact that there is hundreds of sub pages

round pumice
#

Mastodon, peertube, lemmy and so on.

ashen spindle
#

yeah and I'm sure they would show you the door if you asked them to host your business website for free

wild coyote
#

if I wanted to make a full budget self host media streaming platform, I can

ashen spindle
#

what, for free?

wild coyote
#

I'll just use jellyfin with rclone lmao

round pumice
ashen spindle
#

even if someone hosts something for free on their fediverse that still means it's costs someone has to pay for at some point

wild coyote
#

That's how life works

round pumice
#

Yes but it is spread to multiple nodes.

#

So it is not so overwhelming for the single node hoster

wild coyote
#

Yuh

ashen spindle
#

the point was you get an option to not have ads and instead pay for the site access, which otherwise finances the hosting via ads, since hosting is not free

I am hosting a matrix server for an ngo and connected it to the fediverse

wild coyote

If I wanted to host everything I need and not deal with ads or anything else. I'm well over happy to self host or pay 5-10 usd/eur per month for a vps

And I'd rather have decentralized platforms so anyone can help out

like matrix

That depends on your needs, if that is enough

Lmao I'm hosting games for homies and others

Hello, is it worth it getting the PBT keycaps or is ABS fine aswell for a budget option?

@astral haven so it was def some kind of surge. I found my instability issue, on of my dimms has a blown 15ohm resistor network.

The channel died at the same time, but the dimm will work just not stable

So mobo, riser and one dimm is all that died

I think the real problem is a bug in Wootility.
They are using a language that makes text very long, combined with high-DPI scaling so things slide offscreen into the void

vagrant pagoda
#

Yeah idk how

#

Literally blew part of the resistor network off

#

But I barrowed a buddies b450 and it ran fine with 4 dimms

#

I swapped the cpus. My x3d works fine in his board, and his 5600x is the same in mine

#

Not gonna bother testing the riser,.just going to get new onw

astral haven
#

fun
dont want to create more issues by going with a plx riser?

vagrant pagoda
#

Fitment

gusty kiln
#

What mobo you gonna get?

vagrant pagoda
#

The riser blocks my CPU airflow

#

Right now with the GPU in the slot I had to strap a fan to it

reef patrol
#

Lower the riser? Do you need all of your PCIe slots?

vagrant pagoda
#

The whole point is to just run the 180s at minimum speed

vagrant pagoda
#

I have a P1

reef patrol
#

Yes yes owo uwu 7_7 to you too, friend.

vagrant pagoda
#

And my GPU is in the front of the case vertically mounted

reef patrol
vagrant pagoda
#

So bottom 180s blow up though the p1

#

And front 180s blow over the gpu

#

Neither the CPU or GPU have fans

#

But I had to stick a rear 140 on because I moved the GPU back to its slot

#

With the riser in and folded flat, it doesn't block the cpu

#

I had some sort of surge, and it killed the riser, mobo and one dimm

#

So now I'm raw doggin single channel 16gb

better ups time i guess

ashen spindle

yes they do like 20-30€

astral haven

remember you have to include the ram (which is closer now but still more expensive) and the board (same story)

ashen spindle

was about to write the only difference owuld be ram and board but thats not a big one and one is a dead platform the other not and ddr5 might even work on next gen wherreas ddr4 certainly cant

umbral heron

5700X3D is more or less the same as 7600X here, 5800X3D is 1.5 that, 7800X3D is 2x that
But I'd prefer to go with AM5 in case of future upgrade

astral haven
#

yep, but a 4060 and a 9000x3d (assuming its same uplift as previous x3d) is slower than a 4070 and a 5700x3d

ashen spindle

ashen spindle

well exchange prices changed but hardware prices didnt change the same amount

astral haven
#

exchange doesnt seem to be too bad to me?
1.1?usd/eur

ashen spindle
#

before we had basically the exact same prices as the US for listings since the 20ish percent VAT was almost exactly the difference in currency so for a good while listing price of 999usd msrp meant you will find a 999eur msrp for the card

sharp badger
#

So €1340 for 7800X3D, 32GB ram , B650E & 4070

astral haven
#

oh geez I didnt realize how much the exchange rate had fluctuated
if it was just a straight line from 1.2 to 1.1 it would probably be fine, but its all over the place

they are analog

Then what iem that has the lowest latency?

astral haven

dont worry about it, anything analog wont be measurable

sharp badger
astral haven

i have some radians putty, but the trouble is the tip itself has an effect on the noise, so what im planning on doing is getting a tip that is good, then packing it with putty and using that

sharp badger
#

Yeah that sounds like it could work

astral haven
#

problem is i havent heard of anyone doing that, which is kinda unfortunate for me

#

also i have truthear nova and zero blue, and they both have extremely slippery cases that i suspect wont hold on to the putty properly even when it cures

sharp badger
#

Yeah currently reading about it and this sounds like that case your talking about lol

astral haven

yea, for that style of iem, you dont put a tip on top of the custom mold, you use the long tube of the iem as the tip

cedar ice

Ok so the reason my windows is "pirated" is that I had legitimate copy of windows but when I upgraded some of my hardware, I ran into an error trying to activate it again and I found out the only solution would have been to call microsoft and ask them to clear the license again and I just said screw that and just did it myself in 2 minutes

so I do still actually own legitimate windows it's just that it was easier to get illegitimate one working

INTC looks like death right now... With the massively volatile week this week, and the markets heavy, Intel could see another 10% haircut by Wednesday night

Intel is gonna gap fill, hit golden cross and slide the bollinger bands to the victory

pastel nacelle
#

cough GM is extremely stubborn cough

#

cough Intel seems the same sneeze

pastel nacelle
#

Mm you right

marsh glade
#

See ain't that just the thing? The rest of the chip maker stocks and the broader NQ are all actively trading into their respective gaps. Intel on the other hand, is not. This is a correlated pair divergence which suggests extreme bearishness at a time when the broader market is expected to be bearish

pastel nacelle

Still believe no recall even if a class action happens.

the class action or recall or not has 0 influence on the intel stock

Ima take some INTC 26 leaps

ashen spindle

stock doesnt care about some DIY market chips and a handful of enterprise users, thats just public perception and will erode future trust

fickle ore

ok maybe cumulative 0-1%

but has no direct stock influence for now

Tell you what though, I'm not going to stand in front of this week's news events with any strongly held beliefs, it's a doozy of a week. Tomorrow morning CPI, then Wednesday morning PPI, Thursday morning PPI

#

No doubt in my mind that both sides of the marketplace will be attacked, viciously and with extreme prejudice

fickle ore
#

this week is for making money

marsh glade
#

But gun to my head, I'd say the weekly candle prints its highest price Tuesday morning, then either at CPI or at market open afterwards start making its way down to new lows, continuing lower until the NY session on Thursday for a low of the week and then a calmer Friday retracement back up into the weekly range

Thankfully my bank doesnt have options

#

I'd be broke af

marsh glade
#

Options would be a good way to engage, given the maximum risk is 100% of the options value, versus any leverage trade

#

Market is likely to teleport past any stop losses and obliterate traders

fickle ore
#

im already leveraged to the tits

The cuts also suck at the market.

as much as i like the fact that mpv is the same everywhere i have it, the ui is rather questionable

umbral heron

It uses GStreamer, not mpv as backend 02sip

Oh gross

The build of mpv on Fedora doesn't even have a UI... Can't resize the window when watching video

astral haven

Q to quit works
I tried s for screenshot and that didn't do anything

dont hit it too many times, it might just be filling up a random documents or desktop folder

I checked screenshot folder, .local share and the mpv Flatpak folder in .var

also LTT got phished with the age old somewhat wellcrafted email. The bait was the email about the X.com notice of someone else accessing the account and the link at the bottom to secure the account was a 302 redirect to some malicious credential harvester

once again someone did check the URL

i agree it looks hilarious

How does it render on a phone though since that’s where he accessed it

i mean its not how it renders

its more some details that no password reset site has
