It will, but more of it has been folded into overclocking headroom rather than out of box perf with the 9700x.

That will be less so with the 9800x3d because AMD gives them far higher power limits than they need.

Zen5 actually needs more power than Zen4 to perform at its best safe levels

so when you compare zen5 @ 88w to zen4 at 142w, it looks bad.

but zen5 @ 160w vs zen4 at 142w, boom 20 percent better.

If you say zen5 is 20% more mem-scaling sensitive than zen4, then 6000cl30 OC gives +15% on zen4 and +18% on zen5.

If you scale that to the best OC possible, it's +40 vs +48%. That's an easier to show delta. People did that basic testing on engineering samples a few months ago, dropping into the same boards with the same memory and a basically identical IOD.

If you're getting ethernet, then all you need is a router that caters to your need of 1gbit on the WAN side, as well as wifi as needed.

So that's pretty doable. 🙂

shite means no granular router control, no granular switch control, wifi settings are limited, my wifi comes from where the all in one box is (which if its not high up will suck), try to mount your modem wifi router on the ceiling for good wifi coverage you have no access to the router and switch part anymore cause its 1 device, performance isnt as good as separate devices due to heat generated and PCB space not being enough to place higher quality stuff

Nowadays for Gigabit connections pretty much any device that has all GbE ports will do, even cheap $35 Archer C6 will handle it with no problem
That is if you're looking for "just work" solution with some configuration options, but if you're looking for something that will "just work", then you're good to go

Do keep in mind that the WAN port does not always match the LAN side. You can have 1gbit on all internal ports, but only 750mbit on the "outside" in practice 🙂

(Though I assume this has gotten better since I sold equipment 😄 )

Yup But thankfully it's not the case (as much) anymore, now in almost all cases you get 1GbE both on WAN and LAN

Yup, I don't mind spending some money for future scalability or doing some extra configuration for optimizing / minmaxing. So I'll take all best practises I can get to get the best bang for my buck (my home is quite small though >50m2 with walls made of paper though so probably would have a good coverage anyway)
