the magnets are chosen to provide an as linear and predictable 0.1-4mm reading/output graph as possible, if they had stronger or weaker magnetic fields functionality would suffer or be missing entirely

Two issues with Bluetooth - it needs battery, which means devices have limited lifespan, and I don't really care about quality over BT, there's no difference when you're running after all - but BT likes to stutter, drop a bit of a song, even that's a fraction of a second - that's a deal-breaker
