they arent even aiming for that
there is a reason they know they are aiming for #2 foundry not #1
Wasn't that #revenue not performance?
sure but thats tied to each other
Worse take on the iPhone 15 I've ever seen
cope and seeth child
just ask someone with an android
you think they're smart enough to know?
it’s pretty telling what kinda person they are if they even have an iPhone 15, bet their parents get them the newest model every year
true
also why tf are you borrowing chargers? just bring your own and don’t forget it, on top of that it’s pretty rare you don’t find a USBC cable wherever you go.
Happens sometimes, friend forgets the charger and borrows mine or vice versa
I always wondered who the hell buys newest model apple but theyre the biggest company on earth so I guess lots
11 - 14 were all the same
nah i’d say it has enough meaningful differences
you got titanium and usb C
my friend even thinks buying used older gen apple for 700$ is good deal bc apparently other phone makers make slow phones ☠️
How older?
new chip is insane and better cameras are always a plus
they're similar, but the 15 fs has many more changes than the gens mentioned
im not sure what exactly you count as different or the same
New chip is only in the pro max model though
fr?
then yeah they pretty much are the same
No it’s in the small pro too
But in my opinion most phones have such small incremental upgrades, doesn’t seem all that exciting upgrading yearly lol
so it's in a phone that has a price tag that nobody should pay
most people who are buying these phones don't need that much power anyways, at most they're watching youtube
the only reason why they get them is because it's a financial flex for them
It is one thing to see funny deepfakes in Instagram Reels, and it is another to receive a message saying that your face has been reused for propaganda purposes in China... It has been difficult to paint the picture of what's happening and I wanted to share this story with you — please stay informed as we enter the age of AI-generated content...
...
Yep.. Android is a slow poor ppl phone for a lot of Apple users.. Ppl even refuse to talk to you, if you dont have one and i couldnt be more happy about that, cuz shitty characters sorting themselfes out is a good thing.
Hoi
Yee
Pathetic
Never met anyone IRL who's ever said that
Only ever seen those arguments on like reddit
I don’t see people arguing about what phone operating system is better, irl to begin with lol
Like have you had anyone ever tell you this in person the only thing i could think of would be like an insecure teenager
Why judge them at all
Why do you even remotely care what someone uses
By judging them even silently it just shows you're insecure
I think it says more about you tbh
true
I just think you're being insecure by judging people
Like it doesn't matter what someone uses as long as they're happy with their choices
Get off my tech chat horny teenagers
Epic
SMT does need an upgrade
But if this ever reaches tech, it'll prolly be after 2030
Actually i had one such encounter, was hella funny
I only start to care if their lag of security opens a backdoor into my security
Wow lol
Was it some dumb teennager or like
A grown ass adult
Sadly
Felt like itvwas a joke from reddit but it wasnt
There are some dumb ppl out there
I always assumed it was redditors doing their creative writing assignment of the day
Probably someone who took a meme too seriously.. Like with the Apple Wave troll and so on..
I mean a phone is pretty low on the things I’ll notice when socializing with a person, to put it this way lol
XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Ah, they've added 1 in front of the score, rookie mistake
That thing must be alien tech to beat a none stoneage processor that got a own cooler and is plugged to the wall
Ohh.. Its a server CPU?!
The big powerdraw is one thing not shown in geekbench results
They don’t have the hardware to make it efficient like tsmc nodes
Trumps braindead actions will make them produce better stuff in the long run but you aren’t going to figure out EUV in this decade from scratch
That is a new sentence
"Trump", "braindead", "will make them produce better stuff"
No not new I’ve said this since the first sanctions
Cut them off so they invest trillions into making that stuff themselves and don’t need you at all anymore, genius move
Lets see if they are really capable of producing high end chips, that aren just a copy.. Or a tofu CPU
Anyone know a great mouse pair for the wooting? Something more for FPS. And moment. So it needs to run smooth and fast.
how about the OG IntelliMouse?
G Pro X Superlight and DAv3 Pro seem to be the most popular, also Viper V2
There's also Lamzu, Ninjutso, Pulsar... take your pick
cough G100s cough
Old news
I currently run the DAV3 8k (wired) and its pretty nice
Think it will run better than my G502 X plus? Think I should swap?
probably, that thing is a brick
lamzu atlantis
Let me check it out, one second.
It also heavily depends on hand size and prefered grip style
Its best to go to a hardware store, where u can test hold them
The G502 has an IPS of 400, while the DAV3 got 750, and lamzu atlantis has 650.
IPS is important for fast flicks; higher IPS = more accuracy
Now its just a question what you are capable of using
250 IPS, 2.500 DPI, 500Hz.. Jeez thats one old brick
If thats your current mouse, i can gift ya my old xm1 xD
sorry but i only use mice with good shapes
hey thats my joke
I mean if you're playing 1.6
Personal preference, but the difference isnt big xD
Viper V3 Pro has been leaked to exist
think I might finally upgrade my viper ultimate
it is pretty big
G1 shape is really good
if I could buy a mouse with modern day quality and specs with G1 shape I would pay a lot for it
Not too sure how they compete being in different ecosystems
btw @fair gull seen this? https://shop.facfox.com/product/rollingsloth-rs-d-diy-mouse-mod-3d-printed-kit-g305-pcb-to-g1-shape/?v=3a52f3c22ed6
simple, they compore about lightweight laptops with good performace
this reminds me of something
hmmm
no but im still eyeing this https://github.com/kram00/g100s_3360/tree/main

about as good as you can get for a more modern take on a classic logitech egg
really well designed for it being just some guy that is just doing it as a hobby while at university
yall like the shape or why the mod
yea that is the whole point lol
I mean I daily my pure air right now (yes that name is stupid)
but that would prob be a high contender otherwise
zeromouse vs pure air
who wins
i sold mine lol
looks like some sausages on the front
sharkoon is not that german
apparently they thought just slapping some wood on the front of a case was what made north such a hit
they forgot to actually make it work with the rest of the design
they forgot that a big part of the success is fractal having actual designers
that know wtf they are doing?
no way
Heh, there really is no space anymore for disk drives in modern cases
define series
friend of mine is buying an enthoo pro
for the 5.25" slots
oh wait it's the Pop series case with the 5.25 at the bottom
yea, he wanted 2 slots at a better position tho
Gotta buy "vintage" cases then I guess
if an enthoo pro is vintage nowadays
ig it has it's 10th birthday this year

yay more "meh" gpu options
the memory config really gimped the GRE
It moves the market a little bit, but definitely no big change in the landscape, just one extra optio.
still a large perf gap between the GRE and 7900XT

this one could be nice but will also need a 5090 to run lmfao
multi screen vrr? brave man lol
Can't wait for microled
Miniled is pretty nuts
it works good enough for games lol
hdr is a bigger issue
there is zero options for calibrating hdr between panesl
so i had to order my panels so the offaxis shift mostly compesates for it
are they different panels/monitors or just poorly calibrated?
miniled peak bightness isnt great on any panel to panel
personal preference, if you like bass, maybe not, but mostly good
wdym?
ooooh the ABL doesnt match between panels?
yea i dont have a good idea on how to fix that besides not having abl
and if you want hdr without abl, you need reference monitors lol
6xx mostly has midbass, not subbass
its not the same as abl though
abl is just oled
but miniled dose the same bs in hdr
i have 3 27m2v's
they have one of the better irronicly
but its still not great
but idk if i could ever use a non dimming zone screen after maining a 4kled on my desktop
but 4k isnt great for large screens with text
think my triple is like a wide 45 inch?
its 46.6
i was close
is that bad
it's not bad, it's just different
most people think of bass as midbass anyways so yea
midbass is mostly punch and impact
while subbass is mostly that low rumble
6xx is probably the highest performing headphone for it's price so yea it's a good purchase
my miniled screen has ABL
and power usage
no option for it?
there are oleds without abl, they just need cooling
mine has an option for disabling auto brightness on mine
its just a eco enable/disable
Mine can, but only by limiting the peak
My parents oled has the same thing
What
innocn is basicly no name brand in the states
Your monitor has true hdr brightness (600+) and no abl?
That is very surprising
it will heat throttle though
My monitor does 2200 nit peak, 350 without abl
Oled does 1200 peak 250? Without abl
if you leave it hdr white
this dose 1k systained
What is the brick rated for
Guys, what do you think about this one? https://lamzu.com/products/lamzu-thorn-gaming-mouse
And reviews?
Sure but I doubt it's the necessary 400w
they measued abl so they had it enabled i guess
Not bad!
Automatic Brightness Limiting (ABL)
0.038
and thats enabled
lol
you can disable it
i talked with their support
and they gave me a list of settings to basicly disable all the auto shit in each screen to make them match better
and its amazing
Sure but there's this thing called physics
you need sunglasses if you get a full white screen in hdr
Yes?
any Mac nerds know what causes this to happen????
i encountered this, just ignored it no problem
🤔
if im remembering right though lol
Ah InnoCN, another factory resell
I just don't believe it would do more than the abl with abl off
800w is still very impressive
Great great great, phenomenal value
yea that thing tends to pop up on mac
just close it
Yea you can just ignore it it defaults to your region
they are the factory
anytime a unknown keyboard device get's plugged in afaik
o
similar thing with mice iirc
I don't remember seeing it
innocn is the odm for loads of monitors
I don't think that's true for any of the major brands
acer
What's an odm
they make most of acer's displays
None of the predators are innocn
original device manufacture
Well yeah just like Koorui does
Both Inno and Koorui are manufacturers that make panels for other companies
But for whatever reason sell, I suppose factory QC rejects, through their own brands
they dont make panels
Pretty sure they do
and they have the same grade panels as the other brands
the 27m2v actually tested better than the viewsonic and lenovo versions
I love EU shitting on Apple, new favourite rivalry
only loosing to the original design spec for the panel, the proart.
but the proart is 60hz
Why are Apple suddenly dropping one of their biggest features they announced way back for the ORIGINAL iPhone????
Because screw app devs
Steve Jobs legit spent a lot of time talking about web apps in the iPhone 1 presentation
like bruh
so while it technically a reject panel, its a reject pro screen
Cook doing him dirty 😢
Hm, I remember reading InnoCN made their own panels
Seems they just assemble displays
Koorui though definitely does their own panels
as if steve jobs would not do the same lmfao
there are like 10 monitor panel manufactures
its like chip fabs
very few actual high end display lines
Just because something seemed like a good idea at the start of the smartphone era doesn't mean it still makes business sense.
HKC, who own Koorui, are one of the very few that do minileds nowadays
pretty sure only samsung and tcl make qd
and tcl is the only one making small qd lcds
Who's doing microled
loads
microled is just backlight
unless you mean a self emissive microled
then there is 1

though there is no product

still an hour and half left on the day here

For the Irish I think it'd be 2.5 hours left
plenty of time for linuxposting
26mins~ here 😴
but yeah
There's a crap ton of display technologies rn
considering of the two small display qs manufactures
one is korean and one is chinese
Actually, is there a display tech that moves beyond pixels?
its easy to guess where the panel comes from
cathode ray tube
lines>pixels XD
pathetic heatsink but very cool shape
Idk, I had a thought that it'd be possible to manufacture something that doesn't have pixels and displays data directly as input
the pixel is the data
Without the pixels
the data on your computer gets rasterized as pixels
well the computer is sending pixel data to your monitor
Multibeam vector displays
https://www.clickspeedtester.com/keyboard-latency-test/ How many MS do you guys get on a Wooting?
Keyboard latency test measures the input lag of your keyboard. It accurately calculates keyboard scan rate, key response time, polling rate.
those tests are flawed for various reasons
but you can get the advertised 1ms or lower
Well the thought I had was something like a magnet with ferrofluids, the more magnet force the more fluid reacts, I was thinking a similar concept for a display tech
yeah web based anything for latency is a joke
modern browsers are way way to bloated
Depending on data input/electrical stimulation the display would shape itself to the data, no pixels, just a raw organic output
still uses pixels
Yeah I know. But just as a pointer. My 8 year old kb gets 60 ms.
your eyes are still basicly pixels
you can get 1ms with wooting there
for what it's worth (probably not much)
:D
key press length doesn't even say much
it just says how long you held the key
not how quick it responded to the first input
but you get the time from it receriving the key to it stopping which isnt the same as the scan rate necessarily
I'll linuxpost then: wayland with vrr is pretty epic. it just works, as it was always supposed to. using a patched gnome rn, but they'll put it in next release. woohoo.
Ew, linux
Yes one of the main reasons I loved being able to switch to wayland. That and mixed refresh rates in general are pretty shitty on x11.
On Plasma vrr has just worked for quite some time on wayland.
it kinda worked with the nvidia driver, but with a couple of asterisks attached, turns out they did well making it work on wayland. bravo. maybe their focus is finally shifting
All signs are clear towards Wayland being the future, Nvidia is also waking up to that. I personally switched to AMD which I definitely do not regret.
Titanium with its insane melting point is 3d printable? Cool
Overclocking / fan control doesn't work on wayland with nvidia still for stupid reasons.
it was one of the first 3d printed materials
that and SS
DLMS is big money
Powder + laser approach doesn't care too much about melting point.
maybe the discussion should shift from "wayland" to "X and Y compositor", since the quality varies greatly. I see mpv also stopped its nonsense and just works with gnome now. shit's finally working out, mutter was awful to use on wayland only 2 years ago, everything was broken
sure with modern pusle lasers
but back in the day it was pretty hard
Gnome is quite the stick in the mud in that regard at times.
belive sls was right after fdm
they need to do it their own way all the time yeah
and before sla
i believe sls was first?
the first 3d printer i saw at an engineering conference 20? years ago was sls plastic
first was from hot inject printers
while trying to make inkjet as durable as laser, they made hot plastic inkjets
then some guys decided to add a zaxis
stratus with sls was super early too
the first fdm was 1992
SLS1 was 1988
the first sls printer was on the market when the patent for the first fdm was filed
filed in 88 granted in 92
i remember extrusion being extremely rare for quite a few years at the begining of real mass production
early 00's
yeah
around here somewhere i have a print from one of the first dual material printers, which was SLA
fdm benfit is budget lol
def
so sls and sinter are king in industry
the machine had a 6 digit msrp definetly, probably upper half
20 years is a looooong time for this tech
crazy that sinter is 5 figure
i just had a dumb idea
imagine if someone was dumb enough to try aluminum or iron for SLA

can't believe biden just went and literally said it's joever for c/c++
i dont think thats what that means
no but it's very funny to think he walked out and said those words
oh wait actually i thought they meant storing data directly, no they actually mean the programming concept of memory safety!
yeah it actually is something that is as idea isn't the worst

even the Tor Browser isn't bulletproof
yeah there is
they just dont work on modern pages
wget+notepad++
telnet XD
does telnet support https?
yea but thats not amazingly secure
im more a fan of 443
GET /index.html HTTP/1.0
wget wont do sessions or anything
so what are you going to do thats secure lol
cant login either XD
login is just a fancy tracking mechanism
lol
end /s
but for real this is how many of the security and privacy arguments sound to me
best is to find your nearest iot thing
hack it

have it randomly swap your connection
heres an idea, have it select a different one per browser tab!
and whenever it detects you change domains, it swaps

true.... idk how but LOL
why do you want fedora lol
want? Nah...Im using it xd
but i was thinking would it be possible to compile my own kernel and remove all the drivers and things for shit I dont need??

Audio and video may intermittently become out of sync while recording using the AV1 codec in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. [Resolution targeted for Q3]
It's like a year old bug, and I'm pretty sure they delayed it from Q2
Weird, what's taking so long
now you’ve fully done your daily lanaposting plan
connection to the internet in itself is a breach of privacy
realistically you have to weigh how much you prefer privacy compared to accessibility and ease of use
OS's such as qubes may offer high privacy, especially once fortified, but they're clunky to use for the average person, it's a tradeoff of convinience and privacy
Qubes is pretty freaking cool in the concept behind it
Separate and isolate everyone into groups or individual apps
Are the two HE focus mode able to be selected on specific keys of my choice? If so what’s the limit?
Are you talking about tachyon with low latency areas?
It’s pretty self explanatory, choose a zone to get lowest possible latency and the other zones get slightly lower priority and therefore a couple extra ms latency
And the zones are no customizable, they correspond to actual hardware on the pcb
How do I alter the actuation points of only certain keys? I hope I did it right
You don't expirement with your money making machine :p
But that's no fun

does the keyboard has the same tech as a trigger of a controller? for example if I wanna race, can I turn just a little but and progressive accelerate like if I was playing with a ps4 controller?
Yes
Wooting has analog functionality
with this keyboard? Wooting Two HE
That was what the brand was originally about
With all Wootings
Then all the gamers came and turned it into a "who's faster" cockfest
that's very God tier lol

Though this is relatively old panel tech, I think, it's still cool
I don't see where it would find its uses
Prolly more in commerce/retail than consumer spaces
Ah yeah analog
Your Wooting keyboard can output its analog key signal like a controller can - you can change the output type by changing the keyboard gamepad mode. There are 3
Plenty of articles on wooting's web how to set it up
But, clarification
If the game doesn't support double input, analog won't work well
Games like Rainbow 6 Siege or whatever, it doesn't work
hmm that means that for example I can make the key "W" to be the same as "r2" in a ps4 contrller right?
CS:GO it does work
It works just like a controller trigger does
by default?
Racing profile has it by default
Still have to enable gamepad mode though.

Prolly a new thing, Wooting One didn't have premade profiles
Pretty sure it did.
Wooting One did have pre named profiles.
Not mine
Digital and analog 1-3
Well yes but where's "racing profile"
Oh you mean that
Profiles were changed and renamed several times across the years. We also defaulted to gamepad mode off more recently, since it was confusing newer customers.
hmm
Well ye but ARM boards have different names in general.
the avrs also do if they were newer purchases
It's corsair turn to make a fishtank

the new archinstall would look amazing on OLED display
maybe I will install arch to my external drive and use it on the Deck when its docked
You probably wont

I could, though the external drive is a slow ass HDD ;-;
portable SSDs are way too expensive in Ireland
You probably won't use it
I would use it

and there is no overlay system like what Fedora or Nix has

And a desert in Texas
Funny name
Fun fact, the most isolated national park in the US is in that desert: Big Bend National Park

I just found a tweak tool for fonts specifically..
there is a fuck ton of options that idk wtf they do
and this is just one tab...
Interesting
🤔 and now the 59.97Hz option is gone
the last day there was 60Hz and 59.97Hz options here but now just 60Hz xd
thats normal
that resolution options appear and disappear at random?
refresh rates not resolutions
This foundry is peculiar
Also, 2 Ireland foundries? Go work at Intel @wheat plume
Intel and Dell have been here for like 2-3 decades xd
my old laptop and Alienware PC are from theur Limerick plant

there window management features are pretty unique too
System76 COSMIC is copying a few of the features LOL
I guess more choice doesn't hurt but I've never been unhappy with their bastardization of gnome
why go through all that effort, I don't understand, but maybe it'll be good
COSMIC is an entirely different UI to GNOME
well, there is still the headerbar concept but COSMIC puts the menubar inside of it unlike GNOME
so you have the window control buttons + Menu bar + app specific buttons too on the same bar
;-; just want a damn fingerprint scanner on my laptop
entering my password for everything is annoying
oh so it's more like fapple OS?
yesnt
its like macOS and GNOME had some fucked up baby
Super key is bound to an app pallete by default in COSMIC, kinda like Krunner or GNOME Overview Search
hmmm hope it works out for them, the linux desktop market is saturated as it is (for the tiny userbase who use it on their personal computers anyway...)
yeah ....
I wish people stopped making distros and desktops and all focused on the main major ones like GNOME, Plasma and Cinnamon
its a freaking JS Library situation .-.
I can see it happening once running stuff like flatpak becomes the norm
COSMIC app launcher
but that's like 10-15 years into the future
Ug I hate that. My pc is not a netbook
yeah, flatpaks for sure are gonna replace native packages for the most part
ofc, I dont think critical packages that make the system work should be flatpak....despite Canonical thinking so for their precious snaps
they want to make GNOME desktop itself a snap package :/
I see gnome desktop stuff in my flatpak update list
yeah no that's probably bad. its best use would be to reduce work overhead. I don't see distro packages going away either, since there's stuff like debian around who only run ancient kernels and are obsessed with security
Yeh
Cause a lot of Flatpak apps use gnome core packages
Especially ones themed for gtk4 or libadwaita
Same
Same
I go native > Flatpak
Fuck flatpak for the mundane or deeply integrated stuff
But I don't mind Flatpak or AppImage either
That shit doesnt work welll
Yeh that
I'd never want to use something like gparted via Flatpak ......
😅
I like appimage especially, it's just like an exe, I download and run it
Doesn't seem reliable enough to me
.....canonical also wanna make sudo and bash be installed via snap on future versions of Ubuntu
.-. please no
Those are critical apps
Source?
to tell you the truth I never really "got" packaging every app for every distro, if appimage existed when people switched from windows 8 because it was shit, the ability to download and run an app would have helped adoption
or dog forbid, vista even
AppImages are really underrated
Imagine SteamOS desktop with something like rpm os-tree so you can install apps to the root system without disabling immutability
And would persist through system updates
using linux is just too weird for the normal person still. but I also cherish it. if you make a product for the average boring person, you get shit that's engineered for the person with the lowest IQ, advertisements, data mining and paid features
using it now could be a sort of golden age that we don't know about yet, so I cherish it
All that can exist on Linux too though
VS code still has all it's usual telemetry
Teams still has it's ads and telemetry etc etc
Edge is on Linux xd
But it shouldn't exist
yeah microshaft can fuck right off with that lel
Xd
They won't
I bet if they release a Linux distro , ignoring Mariner...., but for regular desktop usage
It would still have the same crap nagging and whatnot that windows had
for sure. I used edge on linux for a while just to see how it behaves. it did well, but soon started dispensing the bullshit "for my security"
Strange experiment xd
It's chromium with a new UI
Ofc it works well on Linux xd
I think it's just a question of time till they will. they make some bad products but their contributions to the open source world are a net positive
I mean, the code text editor for example is open source, there exist forks that cut out all the telemetry and proprietary bits
Windows also seems to be slowly getting less likely to overwrite grub bootloader upon updates too
Which is great
I dual-booted windows and different flavors of linux from around 2006 - 2018... it took me that long to make the switch at last. the last couple versions of 10 were the final straw 😛
If you found 10 bad....
The constant nagging, the constant pushing of their apps, pre installed shit like Facebook and TikTok and candy crush and the really crappy user experience of changing your default browser to Chrome is worse than 10
Unless Google found a way to make it a one click swap like Firefox has... Then yeah its a major pain in the ass to swap from edge to chrome
Got to change the default browser for each type of link and file type individually
And each time you change one, windows pops up some message to remind you that edge is built for windows 11 and you shouldn't swap away
hostage taker mentality lol
Microsoft need all the users they can get for QA
Since all the Windows QA teams got fired -.-
better than when they tried it last time with the piece of shit formerly known as Internet Explorer, a titanic waste of time
Yeh ...xd
but then the european union got involved, and could likely again
They are on a streak against Apple, could definitely go after Microsoft too lol
ugh, here we go again with another clone distro https://youtu.be/h6G_PoNfgdI
wubuntu first look
"Wubuntu, also known as “Windows Ubuntu” is an operating system that reproduces all the appearance and functionality of Microsoft Windows (including the new Copilot wizard, Edge, Onedrive, PowerShell, Teams and etc...) but does not require TPM, secure boot or any other hardware requirements for its operation. Developed using ...
hmmm
settings look realistic to 11 too xd
35 dollars for a premium ISO ... LOL WWTF WHY
wow its almost like people need money to survive
Prolly leaked online already
yeh but its a pointless distro with a windows 11 theme preapplied
yea but it looks fantastic, and it runs exe's properly
fantastic
sure, if you like how a clone attempty of Windows 11 looks
but I personally dont like the look of 11 in general
until you start opening things, it actually looks cohesive
which cant be said about any OOB distros
id argue anything using gnome desktop is cohesive out of the box....well, until you start using QT apps cause gnome does a horrible job of applying the theme to those :/
talk distros not DEs
im aware that you can work to make things cohesive, popos is close, does it use gnome?
yep
for now, once COSMIC is stable enough, Pop is switching to it
im actually excited to give COSMIC a try tbh
its the only other desktop im interested in other than gnome and plasma these days
I mean if it works better out of the box vs say Ubuntu then that's good
it probably doesnt, but if they are charging money they can do 2 things
1, pay devs
2, solicit feedback from confirmed users
Ah, Wubuntu
Runs exes just as regular Linux would, with Wine and stuff...
And it's free, you only have to pay $35 for their "customizer", which is a scam tbf
You can just as well download those themes to Plasma and apply them by yourself
“They are the GPU cartel and they control all supply” Scott Herkelman, former AMD Radeon chief, has something to say about NVIDIA practices. Ah Scott is back with his little remarks
LOL
Lol.. what
comes with a shitload of plugins
Never seen swear words in an official gitthub project page before xd
Official?
That's still not funny
OMFH XD this is actually very useful https://github.com/nvbn/thefuck
WAIT LOL its built into oh-my-zsh
That's amazing
what
There's like no actual shortcuts on these, and the frow is just like screw it and put all the adobe apps they can think of
id imagine thats just a small assortment of keycaps, not actually a full layout?
There's not many more on the novelties or full layout
Good idea, but not very well executed
thats not that bad at all
i kinda like this keycap set
id like it more if it had some level of rgb led support, i really enjoy working in the dark
180 euro wtaf why is this so expensive? https://youtu.be/_8mCjO54Agw
iOS 17 Has A Hidden Feature You Couldn't Use Until Now! - The Belkin Auto Tracking Stand Pro uses something called DockKit that Apple announced with iOS 17, but only Belkin has made use of it so far. its a phone stand that rotates to follow you using the new DockKit feature Apple made in iOS 17
It's a product designed for apple products that's why
and only works witj magsafe iPhones with iOS 17.2 :P
sometimes you gotta appreciate something robust
if it ain't all metal, I'm not spending all metal prices
the most expensive cars minimize the amount of metal they have...
cars move
they kinda have to be lighter if they want to be fast
this is literally one of their marketing points
im pretty sure the luxury brands also prioritize advanced composites
Back in the good ol days, they just threw in bigger engines and still built the cars like tanks
They don’t make em like they used to
Amen
I still want a second gen charger
not a 69 daytona though, I’d never actually drive it

I'd love a classic GTO or Nova
did you read what they wrote?
I had an 06 and loved it.
the legs on the highest setting are delicate
keep reading
I don't see what you want me to read
I've read the entire thing
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect near perfect performance from a stand that costs a premium price
they say all the hinges are strong, sure could they have skipped the mini legs probably, but 1 they arent broken, and 2 they are still strong
the hinge in their words is stiff
and you have to be mindful when folding in the largest legs as the mechanism is different from the 2 smaller ones
and they state that the legs on the largest position is as delicate as the rest of it is robust
I don't see where you're pulling this interpretation from
i pull it from the words that are on my screen?
just because something looks delicate doesnt mean it is
stiff means it is exerting excess force, if it were actually delicate, they would complain about the breaking rather than the mechanism being unintuitive
they don't say whether it looks "delicate" they simply state delicate
stiff to me simply means that there's extra resistance in the hinge
after making the claim that they're delicate they state that you have to be mindful when folding it which could be interpreted as easily broken
that's how I interpreted their words
not that it means much
the other way to interpret the mindfulness is that it probably folds both directions, and can fold different directions on different sides
which would look dumb and cause the different sides to be different heights fully folded
like if you can find a review that says that broke? sure, but if its working fine, "delicate" means looks delicate
well there you go!
this is actual info that makes you right
were you not sorting by most critical on accident?
how are these people real
and there's people that managed to solved this with Solar Energy powering Home
the comments are even worse aaaaaa
they have always existed, it just used to be harder to access the internet, and rare IRL, causing you to never see them
lmao
latency is one hell of a drug
well whenever my vr headset lags, i feel like ive got a hangover almost instantly
yeah I can already see people recommending 11900k over zen5/arrowlake because aida will show lower latency and they dont understand numbers lmao
and I tought audiophiles were bad
to be fair, the grain of truth that comes from is 3000 and 5000 series being slower than the apparently slower intel parts from that gen, look up a few facts online and youll think chiplets are bad
I mean the biggest issues is e-cores and certain braindead youtubers not realizing bad windows powerplan+ram oc issues will cause lags and it's not the cpus fault lol
it would also be fixed by not messing around with default settings that you don't know how they work xD
oh god them
ye it's something else
the problem tho is there are 2 camps
camp "benchmarks are everything"
camp "the other camp isnt measuring the right thing"
and the problem is while the general sentiment has truth to it, it devolves into all benchmarks are bad
i legitimately thought that swapping 9900k to 5950x was going to make my computer faster in game, and it just didnt
eh I find it rather be the case that there is a camp that knows how to read some benchmarks but doesn't understand technical stuff and doesn't bother asking actual experts and form their own wrong conclusions and that one I have issues with lol
sure but again
this is a reality
there simply arent any good benchmarks
and this is a foundational issue
any benchmark should be stable
but the games that need performance the most arent consistent
oh I am aware, mostly playing online multiplayer games atm and it's near impossible to get good data on that
cant get that stable or consistent
yeppo, so you look up some sentiments on reddit or wherever, and happen to see a few of these sentiments, do 2 seconds of googling what makes them different, and youll draw the wrong conclusion
the problem is the logic is valid, it just is misinformed
I'm watching a review of the chuwi ubook X
And it comes with a barrel plug charger ....
But it also seems to support USB C charging, I hope anyway
Cause fuck barrel plug chargers.... No thanks
Batrel plug in 2024 🤢
Wtf are they smoking
It makes sense to keep an expensive port free
When you use the same chassis for half a decade or more, only updating internals…
For Switch 2?
Kinda nutty, SD cards with SSD speeds
Steam deck?
Prolly not
Then again i'll admit i have no idea what the max speed of the sd slot on that thing is
But it can take advantage of this tech
That's been tested actually
But some games struggle on a standard not poopy sd card on the deck so
Maybe this can help?
Prolly somewhere 300-400mbps for current best card readers
So these would require a lot faster card readers to fully harness the speeds
Dunno if any exist rn
I have a sandisk ultra 1tb in the deck
Same as i have in my switch
They work well but def slower than the nvme
And yes i know an ssd swap is always a possibility it's just convenient to be able to dump in an extra tb so easily
For handhelds I doubt you'd need an SSD if the SD card has NVMe speeds
Thats what im thinking
But that all depends on the card reader, and no card reader supports 990MB/s speeds of that SD card
Most cap out 200 or so, rarely 300-400
Maybe there are some rare cases in cameras or whatever of actually fast card readers
I'm more worried about reliability
For backup purposes it could also be an idea
Like
The speed has its advantages
I had a 512gb card in my switch at first
I upgraded to 1tb cuz it was full
Took damn forever to copy everything over to my pc so i could put it on my new one
It's prolly fine?
Rog ally sd card reader
Don't see why it wouldn't be fine
🔥
V-NAND is reliable
It would be fine... as for SD standards
I would never use SDs as primary backup, they failed me too often
Nas in redundancy raid
Absolutely no RAID in backups
Redundancy copy - great, no RAID though, your controller goes poof and data is gone
Oh yeah not for the backup of the nas
Im just saying raid 1 good
Im tired
I need sleep
For once
@umbral heron night
Nite nite
I'm more worried about reliability
It would not be something I would trust for a backup that's for sure. Even more professional sd cards have a reputation for failing and losing recording.
I'd rather just use an enclosure around an ssd if I were to do back-ups in such a way.
for 3ds
tbf 3ds cfw also requires moderately fast microsd cards due to loading everything from there
Luma needs moderately fast SD cards... as for 3DS period standards
na luma can deal with the dumbest sd cards
emunand is what takes ages to load if the sd is slow
Ah, in case of emunand then yeah
luma these days (just modded my gfs 2ds xl) seems to have fixed a lot of issue as i used some brand ive never heard of (that also bricked later) but it loaded as fast as my sandisk extreme in my own 3ds
For me it still sometimes crashes when I try to use LocaleSwitcher
Bigger problem I have is that I struggle to find some better quality 8/16GB SD cards for my DS, everything now is 64GB+
get a microsd and then an adapter?
you can still get sandisk or samsung in 8/16
its how i modded my dsi cause easiest
Sorry, I meant microSD
All reputable brands I can find around here are just blatant clones
There's GoodRam, but their SDs are shit, they die after 3~4 months of regular use
the only brand i know thats not a big name microsd manufaturer is verbatim
and having used those the only downside is you cant use them for a lot of writes
theyd prob be fine in a dsi though where its purely reads
The problem with fast micro-sd's in a lot of devices is that they simply do not support the standards that allow for faster data transfers.
especially not running over pci-e like sd express cards can.
That being said there is still value in going with something a little faster than the slowest cards.
We should just all move towards UHS-2 standard, would be nice
That would be nice, sadly the market is not there to bring down the price for that.
What do you need speed for anyway? Aren't these ancient handheld consoles? 😄
The speed thing is out of context of the older handhelds
of course you don't need it for a 3ds
but if a steam deck or phone came with uhs-2/3 and cards that supported it would actually be affordable it would still be nice
To get high
If you catch the drift
Ahhh the Dekk
Surely you'd want your games on the SSD on the deck? The SD is more of a slow media solution?
modern speed standards are definitely not supported or usable to their limits on old handhelds but the cheapest cards can still be too slow for cfw/homebrew purposes
REALLY? That's impressive.
I personally do most games but as a buffer for vacations / for games that matter less it's still nice
as for my phone transfering media in bulk is always nice if it's faster.
I only noticed that games write longer to SD than SSD on Deck (well, duh)
But when playing there's practically no difference
id imagine its mostly that whatever flash/controller they use is so cheap that QC sucks and its really really hit or miss
I have a 512 GB Samsung Pro Plus and I do think getting something like that on the deck definitely seems better than using a slower card.
LOL
That isn't the fault of the SD card itself though :")
Not in the case of the Rog Ally
Serve fresh out of the oven, while still hot and steamy
Hehehehe
Hmm?
The ally broke the cards
Not the other way around
We were not talking about the other way around though.

Interesting
Higher power targets make GRE shine bright
I can only imagine what the GRE performs like with a heavy VRAM overclock to like 22gbps to match 7900XT and maybe a slight clock boost
80CUs should not be performing that weakly, it needs some tuning and I believe it can be like within 5% or so of 7900XT, hopefully with decent TGP too
gre version is a confusing model
You mean the heavy overclock that you can’t do because clocks are limited
The only reason gre exists(outside of being a china sku) that I can think of would be to fill that pricepoint so Nvidia doesn’t have a free ticket there
Or maybe more attempts to get stock moving before next gen
Partner models seem to have higher limits iirc
22gpbs VRAM OC should be easily stable and doable
Those VRAM chips on the GRE are same ones as on XT afaik, and are underclocked
Max memory clock is 2316, it’s 2500 default for 7900xt and goes to like 2750 stable
Also you have lower bandwidth and smaller bus as you only have 4 MCDs on the gre
I guess there's a wait if anyone will make a modded bios with limiters removed
Doubt it
You get the worst bins, still only 4/6 MCD and a slightly different GCD because is the mobile variant so you’re not reaching the xt anyway
hi im having issues with wootility where if i map a key to Mouse L it does nothing

Hmm, what
Why would we want to move away from C and C++?
They work fine
late news smh
Ah this was posted yesterday? Soz
2 days ago I was memeing about biden saying it joever for c/c++ which isnt correct but was funny to imagine when I saw that press statement
think thats this editor, dont remember java being mentioned in the original report
To my understanding moving to Java seems pretty questionable, makes sense the original report didn't mention it explicity
I love zsh
in fact java is mentioned but just for the log4j issue
bloat.
:P
Double git
oh oops
this is all you need https://github.com/xaizone/dotfiles/blob/main/.bashrc
I need to do this someday... backup my dots to git

alias vim='nvim'
alias nano='nvim'
:')
in fact I dont think the report mentioned any languages specifically but moreso was showing issues and that something needs to be changed but wasn't suggesting any specific language but rather that it makes sense for CTO and similar to look at these points
you want some handy yt-dlp aliases?
I stole them from ArcoLinux
no i'm fine thanks, i'd never use those
