They have legal protection and they will want to leave

remote harness
#

Yeah taxing unrealized gains is complicated is a real issue

mild dome
#

A lot of companies need the US to function, they don't make the economy, they just exist inside of it

remote harness
#

And I would agree executive compensation seems a bit excessive

copper adder
#

Executive compensation is determined by shareholders

remote harness
#

But I'll say if your goal is to discourage investors from investing by taking away money you're just stifling economic growth

copper adder
#

They dont choose themselves

#

So its a function of free market

mild dome
#

They can still invest
but the majority of a company's cash is going to come from consumers rather then investors

remote harness
#

The first thing I saw in chat is the problem is dumb investors fucking up the market

mild dome
#

Yes

remote harness
#

But your solution is to just not have a market

mild dome
#

Mostly because they have too much money, and lead the economy by the nose

#

You still didn't read what I said and made up something else in your head

copper adder
#

Us has outpaced european economy so much

remote harness
#

I don't think you understand the implications of what you're suggesting

mild dome
copper adder
#

Us and europe had equalish gdp 2008

#

Now us is almost double all of europe

mild dome
copper adder
#

Europe’s economy barely grows

#

Many key European states are projected to shrink in gdp this year

mild dome
#

Investors still exist, but are a secondary concern compared to consumers

remote harness
#

Taking away money from investors so they can't invest is literally just reducing investment

copper adder
#

Us is basically only major western country still growing

#

Idk how many ppl realize that

#

Search up “europe vs us gdp over time”

#

Many articles going over this

mild dome
remote harness
#

I think you also misunderstand investing

copper adder
#

In 2008, the eurozone and the US had equivalent gross domestic products (GDP) at current prices of $14.2 trillion and $14.8 trillion respectively (€13.1 trillion and €13.6 trillion). Fifteen years on, the eurozone's GDP is just over $15 trillion, while US GDP has soared to $26.9 trillion.

remote harness
#

The money always comes from customers

mild dome
#

Wherever a company fails to grow, another smaller company will grow in its place. Allowing for more competition

remote harness
#

Investment money is just leverage to make more money from consumers

copper adder
#

If things are really bad here you can always leave the country

mild dome
remote harness
#

The purpose of investment money isn't just to help companies pay their employees

mild dome
remote harness
#

Even if it ends up that way with dumb business ideas...

#

I'll say if you stifle economic growth, everyone including low class consumers will have less money in the long run

#

Helping disadvantaged people move up in class is important but that's a different conversation

#

If there's a conversation to be said about high taxes it's that imo

#

Not removing agency from investors

mild dome
#

How does consumers having more money stifle the economy?

copper adder
#

Because they didn’t work for that money

remote harness
#

Removing investor cash stifles the economy

copper adder
#

Less work = stifle the economy

remote harness
#

It's not about people getting money they didn't work for

#

It's about businesses requiring cash to function

copper adder
#

Nah Idt it’s that important

remote harness
#

I guess

copper adder
#

I think businesses can take on more loans if they needed still

#

Would still be a negative tho ofc

mild dome
mild dome
remote harness
#

I think the US Europe comparison is kind of off topic since Europe is all different countries with different economies

copper adder
mild dome
mild dome
#

If most of the population isn't getting any benefit

copper adder
#

In 2008 europe bottom 50% had 22% of the wealth and approximately still do now

#

In 2008 USA bottom 50% had 15% and decreased to 12%

remote harness
#

I think a more useful graph would be income of lower and middle class people

mild dome
#

Indicating the market isn't serving the needs of most the population

copper adder
#

Once you consider that USA gdp doubled and europe stagnated, bottom 50% of ppl from us actually got a 50% benefit over Europeans

remote harness
#

Who cares if the rich are extremely rich if lower and middle class is still doing better than other countries

mild dome
copper adder
#

So what’s your point

#

Wealthy Americans getting richer faster than “poor” Americans

remote harness
copper adder
#

Poor Americans still getting richer than europeans

remote harness
#

Inequality is unfair so it's more unfair :(

mild dome
#

Yes it isn't fair that a man can work an 80 hour work week and still be in poverty

remote harness
#

Yeah but that's a different point than what your graph is showing

copper adder
#

Basically if the top 1% of Americans threw like 20% of their money into a fire, inequality would not infcrease and us economy would still grow faster than europe

#

Lower class Americans are doing great, “problem” is wealthy Americans are doing even greater

mild dome
#

I mean if they did throw 20% of their money into a fire then the buying power of the dollar would go up and the poor would be able to afford more

copper adder
#

Sure lets say they burned 20% of their capital

#

Don’t pretend you don’t understand

#

Anyways I’m dipping Idt any thing can change your mind

remote harness
#

And businesses would have less assets to leverage

Steve Jobs was right back in 2007: if smartphones were going to evolve, their physical QWERTY keyboards had to go. But there's a lot of convenience, reassurance, and even fun that comes with keys – and looking back after 17 years, it's possible that as a society, we threw the buttons out with the bathwater.

So let’s change that. I’m Michael Fi...

In practice it doesn't replace the right windows key at all, most laptops don't have that key in the first place, it just forces them to change the keyboard layout, to include the extra key.

Oh really? Never really paid attention to that

jade pecan
#

is it better performance wise to install a game on ssd with small amout of space left like 60 GB or HDD with 1,8 TB\

thick elk
#

In most cases yes

reef patrol
#

To allow them to properly defrag and garbage sort.

thick elk
#

Still for the performance of said game running it on the ssd will generally be better.

ashen spindle
#

Don’t need to leave much free space on ssd

reef patrol
#

That's not what I was taught 😄

ashen spindle
#

They don’t really need to move data around

thick elk
#

I do think filling them up comes at a cost of slc cache though?

marsh glade
reef patrol
ashen spindle
#

Haven’t looked into it for a while now but cache shouldn’t be part of total size so that also shouldn’t matter

reef patrol
#

It all depends on how well your SSD is overprovisioned.

ashen spindle
#

If you use it and don’t have a separate chip as cache

reef patrol
#

If you're not using any overprovisioning, you're going to wear out cells

ashen spindle
#

Ehhh

#

Might be something worth looking into as the only info you find for that as first results is really old

#

But I think moderns ones mostly have a separate block that acts as cache and would be capacity for running trim

thick elk
#

Either way a form of caching used on modern ssd's is to run part of the nand in slc mode for better performance when the drive is not full.
This of course works less if the drive is full.

ashen spindle
#

If you use QLC I would use it I guess

thick elk
#

Also used on tlc and mlc but decent tlc nand is fast enough on it's own. Still allows for faster bursts

#

Of course generally there is some static dram / slc cache in general.

pale sigil
ashen spindle
#

I don’t buy QLC anymore and for the rest I don’t bother with OP really

#

Tbf if one is almost full I delete stuff or move around so I have more place to put something else on it

reef patrol
#

Most consumers do however.

ashen spindle
#

Don’t think QLC is the most common option

reef patrol
#

If you can find numbers that say otherwise, sure. But that's how I remember it for several years.

thick elk
#

QLC from what I seen just doesn't offer compelling costs savings atm

#

Even per gb the cheapest drives are a mix of tlc and qlc

ashen spindle
#

It took a while for QLC to even exist and now it doesn’t even save much anymore so idk if it was ever the most used one

thick elk

I do expect it to be the future at some point, slowly creeping up, but it is a slow transition.

astral haven
#

if there were more users and moderators maybe it could be worth

ashen spindle
#

Already enough people ask in game talk about support etc.

astral haven
#

yea people are already confused with this small number of channels

thick elk
#

I could make the following argument about the existance of specifically the 60he 80he and uwu channel:
The 60he requires some layering / may hold questions specific to how to work with a 60% (other than that it could be removed imo)
80he just got announced so a separate channel makes sense.
UwU has keycap trading and a lot of people talking about just recieving them.
That being said I really wouldn't mind rolling the uwu and 60he into a wooting keyboards channel.

latent mural
#

peoples ability to not understand stuff is not a excuse to delete the channels

also the lekker switch channel could hang there as well.

Pulling numbers out of my ass, it's easy for them to get to 80% of the capabilities and technical expertise, difficult but expected to get to 90%, how relevant is that last 10%? Is it worth spending literal trillions on defending the island half a world away?

misty saffron
#

what i’ve learned so far is you don’t fuck around with mark and his numbers

marsh glade
#

I certainly don't have the answer to that question

ashen spindle
#

its also that stuff like the specific nodes for automobile are staying in taiwan with the current fab plans

#

so it's not just that the 2 most advanced nodes are staying there

marsh glade
#

Sure, but in the case of that cold war going hot, how critical to the US economy and more specifically the US defense industry is that really?

ashen spindle
#

can type more than two sentences when this raid is over in like 10

marsh glade
marsh glade
#

Yea

#

But it's waning

ashen spindle
#

with current plants still very, unless intel does the opposite of what they did the last decade+ which is a tough bet

marsh glade
#

I wouldn't bet on Intel doing anything remotely useful 😂

shut badger
#

I have no idea on keyboards, but 70 of the linear 60 lekker switches cost 40 bucks. My 60 he cost 200.
Is the case and software just so expensive or am I tripping?

marsh glade
#

There's a fair chunk of margin in both products, but the details on the cost of goods sold is confidential

shut badger
#

So it wouldn't have been significantly cheaper if I had just bought every components (if they were on sale) sepperately and assembled it myself?

#

I am too interested for my own good

ashen spindle
#

unless you get the raw components and make the software yourself too xD

analog sinew
#

kinda missing that

shut badger
analog sinew
#

well, in the case of a HE keyboard, the pcb contains pretty much everything special

#

the switches are 3 plastic pieces, a spring and a magnet

#

the sensing is done on the board

#

so the PCB is a significant chunk of the cost, since it contains a lot of electronic components

ashen spindle
#

so for one we have the fab being like 1.5 to 2 nodes behind @marsh glade the total wafer output starts at like 4k wpm this year up to 20k wpm eventually, which is .. 2% of their current total output, if not less because that's the numbers from 2021

#

then you have the thing with packaging, apple invested into a packaging center for their chips that will work in tandem but you will still have orders that they will need to ship to taiwan or malaysia or something to get the die packed onto the substrate

#

they could make automotive chips in the US fab too but then you'll need to tell apple they wont get chips, so good luck with that

fickle ore
#

intel ftw

ashen spindle
#

if intel accidentall reverse what they did the last decade+ sure, then intel has capacity in us/eu and could be a cause for them not needing tsmc as much

#

you can analyse their roadmaps into whatever scenario to say taiwan is getting fucked, or taiwan is safer then ever, depending on how you think stuff turns out

#

personally I havent seen anything from intel that would make me trust their execution yet so..

#

not to mention even if we assume intel takes leadership, stuff works and all

fickle ore
#

what a lot of assumptions and anecdotes and 0 facts!

ashen spindle

the massive capacity alone, if china were to be a cause to take/destroy that all, that would be a financial nightmare for the us

number of customers with volume on intel nodes so far? numbers of skus that currently remain on intel nodes?

that is one narrative ig

ashen spindle

the buyout of tower also failed for intel so they dont have that capacity or manpower

wheat plume
marsh glade
ashen spindle
#

they have a nice roadmap, and amd had also nothing but a roadmap when zen started

#

but they executed on that, intel so far... in limited amount

fickle ore
#

Idk why it's relevant to the matter at hand whether bunch of randoms in internet trust or believe whether they can execute or not

ashen spindle
#

oh its not just some randoms but thats how customers decide where to buy the next 10 years of products

#

when they first announce the 5 nodes in 4 years plan, i3 was planned to have 2H23 for products, what did we get? meteor lake on intel 4 in Q1 2024

Yes or no?

Ok

your laptop wants 20V3.25A and the charger said it can do that

Imma get two cable then

I get charge and two USB C to C cables then

Only need one cable
Cause I have one for my phone

Oh
I need one for the Deck actually

halcyon moss

halcyon moss

Ikea usb c cables are also fine for charging 😉

Hmmm
Maybe it'll change phone and deck at same time though?

halcyon moss

It might but at a lower speed

wheat plume
#

Oh
Laptop can do 65w or 45w
Got it

20v 3.25A or 15v 3A

So it'll be slower than the proper charger but a lot lot less bulky

halcyon moss
#

Just try it

If the sound didn't completely just suck

They paid I think was it DankPods? To review their stuff, and even he had to clench his teeth to say anything positive

It's a very peculiar list with a bit of a Grado bias

#

And a really weird Austrian Audio inclusion which just solidifies that the list is really off

#

Austrian Audio products deserve to be in worst products lists rather than best

warm night
#

this list sucks

warm night
#

i cant see a purpose for it

#

unless there are m.2 slots with only 2 lanes available AND it happens to be pcie gen5 but i really dunno if thats a common thing

#

if it even is

cursive summit
#

In theory, going 5x2 could make for thinner SSDs, somehow

#

And also saving lanes, so you could pack more in a motherboard

warm night
#

maybe

cursive summit
#

Kinda doubling possible SSD slots I guess?

#

Usually 2 - 3 are available, so maybe we could see up to 6

warm night
#

the ssd thickness is probably not the bottleneck for making anything thinner in a lot of cases though is it? not sure but im just assuming here

#

i guess doubling slots is valid

#

does make sense to just use 2 pcie gen5 lanes instead of 2 gen4 lanes to achieve the same thing

cursive summit
#

Well I meant you could maybe shrink the SSD like, twice in width lel

warm night
#

oh width

cursive summit
#

Dunno if we have the tech for that though

warm night
#

i mean can we still fit the same amount of nand chips on it like that

#

& the controller

#

& probably dram cache

cursive summit
#

I also, now that I think about it, have never seen an x2 connector

#

Does an x2 connector even exist

warm night
#

yeah thats the thing

#

i mean

#

probably

#

but theyre either 1 4 8 or 16 for some reason

#

i think

#

ok i just google pcie x2 connector and apparently sometimes m.2 slots are pcie 3.0 x2 according to some random post on some random forum

#

so i guess its a thing?

cursive summit
#

I don't think it's a thing

warm night
#

oh yeah okay its a thing

cursive summit
#

It's just an x4 slot running at x2 speeds

warm night
#

well yeah

#

thats what i was looking for

#

but theres no half-width slots yet

thick elk
#

It's not about the connector, it's about splitting the lanes between multiple devices.

warm night
#

though I don't see anyone actually making one any time soon either

cursive summit
#

Bit of a bummer, shrinking SSDs could be good

warm night
#

yeah the only advantage to it is using less lanes now

#

not useless but i mean most people aren't running out of lanes are they

cursive summit
#

Nowadays there's the whole thing of stacking M.2 slots one on top of another

#

With x2 you could have a cluster of 4, in 2x2 in a small area

#

That'd be incredible for data storage

warm night
#

it would be a much more efficient use of the space

#

yeah

thick elk
#

I can see this becoming useful.
means you can have twice the number of pci-e ssd's running off your cpu.

#

while still having x16 for the gpu.

cursive summit
#

Well yes 5x2 is useful just cause you have more lanes for more SSDs

warm night
#

yes but i'm not sure how many people are already using all the lanes they have available for ssds

#

theres obviously some people doing it

cursive summit
#

Sadly mobo makers prefer to put fans and RGB, with useless plastic elements on their boards

thick elk
#

I have 3 ssd's in my system atm.

cursive summit
#

Instead of useful features

warm night

i also have 3

but 2 are sata because i was poor

That board was a massive sucker

cursive summit

I wanted to buy Gigabyte but this board had a major discount

#

Gigabyte Aorus is so much better than Asus it's not even funny

warm night
#

maybe i was doing something wrong, its a gen4 drive and its a gen3 slot but it should have still worked, right?

cursive summit
#

Sad, only 2 x M.2 slots

#

I already have those populated

thick elk
#

I have little experience with Asus, never quite hit the right spot for me price wise.

My past 3 motherboards were Asrock > Gigabyte > Asrock
I would say they both are mostly fine and have their issues.
Gigabyte's dual bios on Z370 was absolutely terrible. Asrock tends to show a lot of non-functional / useless options in bios.

But functionally both are fine.

cursive summit
#

I've had Giga boards before ASUS, and those always were just nice

#

Asus just gave me so many problems

#

This board seems higher end so it works fine, I just don't like how it looks and the bulk of it

warm night
#

my experience with that specific asrock board has told me not to bother with their midrange or low end stuff ever again, their higher end stuff is probably fine seeing as i haven't heard anything bad about that but i'd probably avoid them if possible anyway

thick elk
#

At work we use a mix of pretty much everything and it's mostly fine.

warm night
#

asus have always been fine for me but they have gone downhill in the past however long apparently but they've never done me wrong

thick elk
#

Asrock sometimes is terrible sometimes is great, everyone has their good and bad generations.
On B650 they are pretty solid

warm night
#

yeah tends to be the case

#

not looking to upgrade any time soon anyway

5700x is plenty for what I do

i just impulse bought it as an upgrade from my 3600 because it was around 50% off on amazon

#

somewhere last year.

cursive summit

Is there a board manufacturer that's never done anything wrong lel

warm night
#

got a friend still using an 8086k because it was limited edition or whatever and he refuses to upgrade

#

he sees no issue with it even though he is struggling to run some stuff now

thick elk
#

On lower end gpu's you would mostly be fine, depending on your workload of course.

warm night
#

he's still using a 1080 aswell so thats probably why

cursive summit
#

Hm, I've not heard much wrong about Biostar, but it sounds like a low grade board maker

#

EVGA is sadly, gone

#

NZXT iirc doesn't make things anymore

thick elk
#

I was also using a 1080, until about a year ago.

warm night
#

was using a 1050 ti until mid 2021

#

or was it 2022, no idea

thick elk
#

Biostar is just not worh looking at in consumer space imo.

warm night
#

all i know about biostar is that they made boards and they were midrange or low end or something

thick elk
#

They are mostly just a lot smaller, and are behind in engineering.

#

Don't know about the server space, just talking about consumers stiff

warm night
#

nzxt have b650e and z790 boards, so

#

i dunno if thats the newest generation for intel anymore but

#

they seem to be doing something?

thick elk
#

NZXT are really mostly rebranded asrock boards.

warm night
#

hm

#

didnt know that

#

they are clean looking boards tho

#

im a fan of the simpler look they have

thick elk
#

They look different but under the hood they are Asrock

They are generally more expensive though

NVIDIA officially launches its new SUPER series Three new GeForce desktop cards.  NVIDIA Founders Edition cards for some of the latest GPUs have been sent out to reviewers. I have to say though

4070 Super looks like really good value lel

#

Not far off of 4070Ti, far cheaper

#

Good to see 4070Ti Super gets 16GB of VRAM

#

A bit surprising 4080S doesn't get 20

Wasn't thinking of buying Nvidia with their usual prices, but this will defo make me go NV over AMD

ashen spindle
#

Seems like 70 super would still be around 7800xt while costing a nice hundred more

cursive summit
#

I wonder though, if Nvidia would dare to pull an AMD and copy what AMD are doing

Usually it's just AMD playing catch up to whatever Nvidia cooks up

#

AMD was first to enable rebar iirc but that was an universal tech so it doesn't really count

#

I really like the AFMF tech, it's a bit of a bummer that (currently) Nvidia doesn't have one

Nvidia already did that when they made frame gen

halcyon moss

I built SFF last year, was quite an experience havo

I built on Ssupd Meshlicious with 6800XT and Ryzen 5600

#

6800XT being a.. 340mm card I think? Fit inside without much issue

#

Formd T1 should fit that too

#

There was a wonderful website for checking compatibility

#

Checks for clearances for GPUs and CPU fans and other stuff, seems reliable

final flame
#

Cool

cursive summit
#

Lists you all of the stuff that it's compatible with, I bought stuff from this website that it said should fit in the meshlicious, and it did

#

Again though, I am against the Terra havo

final flame
cursive summit
#

Imo SSUPD Meshroom or Formd T1 + 6800XT for 450$ + faster RAM would net you an incredible build

#

Not too sure about ASRock ITX board, there aren't any Jiggybyte options? I built with Jiggy's B550I ITX and it was really really nice

final flame
#

There's not many under 200 am5 mini itx mobos

cursive summit
#

Gigabyte b650i seems to be under 200, comes with wifi option

final flame
cursive summit
#

You ain't kidding

#

It's cheaper in EU than in 'murica havo

#

Jiggy's B650I here is like 170 euros

final flame
#

💀

cursive summit
#

Yours seems fine though, it's fine

#

Would prolly switch case, better RAM, better GPU

#

Check clearances on PSU n cooler and it's a good build

final flame
#

Ye

cursive summit
#

750W is a bit much though, no? havo

#

650W would do

final flame
#

Upgradability baby

cursive summit
#

Pretty sure 650W would handle a 4090

final flame
#

Also it was one of the cheaper but also good options

cursive summit
#

Not sure what 6090 with 700W you would be upgrading to

#

7600 is pretty power efficient so you'd do with 650W just fine

#

Oh yeah @final flame

#

If you get a case like Meshroom S you can get a full sized ATX board

#

Those usually have less compromises than ITX, more USB slots or whatever

unkempt lake
#

Ax860 platinum couldn't handle my 7900xtx

cursive summit
#

Lemme guess, 14900K? havo

unkempt lake
#

9700k believe it or not

cursive summit
#

That sounds like a bad power supply

final flame
#

First thing that pops up when I search for it lol

cursive summit
#

Oooo

unkempt lake
#

I mean the ax860 is old

cursive summit
unkempt lake
#

Been using it since the 980 launched

#

10 years

final flame
unkempt lake
#

XD

cursive summit
#

Prolly degraded PSU

#

You hit it with some high wattage and it borked

unkempt lake
#

I was using a 2080 before

#

Swapped for the 7900xtx ran fine for like 3 months

#

Then it started not liking it was tripping OCP when playing dead island 2 out of all things

#

Swapped it out

#

No problems since

#

And the psu is still used and works fine in a less power heavy rig

#

I think it's just degraded after 10 years of usage and it didn't like the transients from the xtx

cursive summit
#

Sounds like it

unkempt lake
#

Also befor you start wondering what kind of max scientist runs a 9700k with a 7900xtx

cursive summit
#

It's not a bad time to get new PSUs, they are relatively affordable nowadays for ATX3.0 cert units and Platinum rating

unkempt lake
#

I play at 5120x1440 and am gpu bottlenecked in almost everything except like cyberpunk with max pedestrian density and i'm just patiently waiting for zen5 for a platform upgrade as im not in a hurry.

#

If i was running at a lower res i'd be in more of a hurry

cursive summit
#

Why are you combining two 1440p displays

#

Instead of just getting one 1440p ultrawide

unkempt lake
#

And the day i had the problem was cyber monday and i got an hx1500i for like 250cad on sale (its atx 3.0 cert but just didn't come with the atx 3.0 cables because older revision)

#

Um

#

I am running 1440p SUPER ultrawide

#

32:9

cursive summit
#

But like why havo

unkempt lake
#

Samsung odyssey g9 neo

#

49 inch giant

cursive summit
#

Ahhh

#

I thought you like some ultramadman are just combining 2 displays

#

Side by side into 1

#

For no reason

unkempt lake
#

It's like 2x27inch 1440p monitors glued together into one giant curved display

raw zephyr
cursive summit
#

Sure, G9 neo makes sense

unkempt lake
#

I have the 49 inch version, 57 inch version was the one with the DP version issue on nvidia

final flame
#

I really don't see how you're hitting power supply limits tho, we have almost the same setup

Probably a issue like vex said

unkempt lake
#

The 57inch version is 2x4k 32 inch displays

raw zephyr
#

ah so it was the other one

cursive summit
#

5120x1440 is still considerably less pixels than 4K

unkempt lake
#

12%

cursive summit
#

So you can run that on 4070 prolly, 4080 easily

unkempt lake
#

Nah

#

4070 forget it

#

7900xtx or 4080

final flame
#

Im running 3 displays out of my 2080

unkempt lake
#

I'm talking when gaming

cursive summit
#

Fair enough, 4070 is dubious

#

4070Ti is just fine though

unkempt lake
#

And before you say surround don't bs me I used to run 5760x1080 surround on my 2080 @final flame and i know how the performance is lol

#

When gaming you really have to lower settings on that nowadays

#

@cursive summit well i paid 4070 ti price for my 7900xtx brand new on sale this summer

#

Very happy with it

cursive summit
#

Not too sure Dashi why you wouldn't upgrade CPU anyways, going from 9600K to something as simple as R5 7600 would give you massive frame improvements for little cost

final flame
#

I never was going to say surround but Aight

raw zephyr
cursive summit
#

AMD been discounting their stuff lately, with SUPER launch I imagine they will discount even more

#

600$ for XTX 😳

unkempt lake
#

So yeah i do want an upgrade im just patient

cursive summit
#

The fact you are GPU bound though doesn't mean much

#

IPC improvements alone will be massive

unkempt lake
#

If more games released soon i'd upgrade quicker

#

But rn i don't see the point

cursive summit
#

You sound like you have money, 7600 build with 32GB of RAM and a mobo would be like 500$ or so lel

unkempt lake
#

I do have money

cursive summit
#

Not much reason not to

unkempt lake
#

But i like using it inteligently 😛

#

And I'm a patient gal

unkempt lake
#

I'd rather wait for what i really want than half ass something

raw zephyr
#

why 7600?

cursive summit
unkempt lake
#

If i did upgrade i'd go 7800x3d

cursive summit
#

7600 is the cheapest I can think of that has really good performance

#

Sure, 7800X3D is what you SHOULD get

#

But 7600 is bare minimum

final flame
#

My own PC is at the point to where ID rather just get another brand new PC instead of upgrading, since if I were to upgrade ID have to upgrade everything

unkempt lake
#

But what im hoping for is that we see some thing that had more than 8c/16t with 3d vcache on 8ccds or more

raw zephyr
#

maybe, for my stuff i don't need more than 8c

unkempt lake
#

I could have bought a new cpu mobo ram but i spent 1500cad on a samsung neo g9 on sale it seemed like a better use of my money

#

😛

#

I have the money for a new cpu/ram/mobo I'm just being patient for zen5 rn

cursive summit
#

Cause in practice it seems to have virtually no negatives anyways

#

Like, I get the anger and complaint

#

But in practice AMD is still the leader even with half the vcache

unkempt lake
#

Not saying I'm gonna buy intel

cursive summit
#

Ah no I'm just venting about the complaints

unkempt lake
#

The way i see it its more like

#

Zen4's been out a bit, what i have works and im gpu bound in like 95% of scenarios and no new games are releasing any time soon

#

And on the games I play regularly... the benefit isn't there

#

Im only excited about stsr wars outlaw this year

#

That's it

#

And we don't even know if its even releasing this year

#

So i'll just wait till spring/early summer

#

If i saw a benefit in games i play rn i'd upgrade but i don't

#

You get my point

#

Like in forza the multiplayer is capped at 60fps because of xbox cry babies in cross play so i play with rt on and ultra settings capped at 60. How would i benefit from a 7800x3d.

#

And in halo infinite im gpu bound at 120ish fps on ultra

#

My 2 main games

cursive summit
#

I can't find any articles rn, but isn't the main drawback of 7800X3D that only 4 cores of 8 have Vcache on them?

#

I remember Carmonben here flipping about ages ago when X3D was gonna launch with just half the cores Vcached
