@latent mural lad, you listening or debating people for no reason?

#

Rtings, hub and a fuck ton other reviewers reviewed the M27Q-X as the best display to buy for 500$

#

Get the M27QX, it's in your price range

#

Good as hell monitor

hasty thunder
#

1080p, 24.5", 0.5 ms response time

drowsy prawn
#

Panel type?

drowsy prawn
hasty thunder
#

and only costs about 200 bucks, it's discontinued tho

raw zephyr
#

i'm way more than happy with my xl2546, been using it for many years and probably many years to go

#

1ms or 4ms who cares dude

hasty thunder

people who think 8k polling rates are a game changer

drowsy prawn

Bruh 0.03ms

The best ones

What budget u talking

solemn remnant
dire harbor
#

lol 0.03 seems a bit fast 😄

drowsy prawn

Bruh 0.4ms is less than 4ms

cursive summit
cursive summit

Not even sure if OLED is that fast

But I would like to see an unbiased source verifying those claims

But still .20ms is impressive

Ngl

dire harbor
solemn remnant
#

no doubt

dire harbor
#

I'm waiting and hoping for some good 500hz stuff coming out soon-ish

raw zephyr
#

can you even reach 500 fps?

dire harbor
#

easily

gusty kiln
#

Only in like 3 games

cursive summit
#

In Stardew Valley and browser

dire harbor
#

the ones I need the monitor for 😄

cursive summit
#

500Hz is absolute nonsense

raw zephyr
#

probably valorant or cs

cursive summit
#

But there is a 500Hz out already innit? Launched like a week back

drowsy prawn
#

Ye lcd arent a thing in highend monitors

dire harbor
#

CS yeah, also Quake type games

drowsy prawn

Or mid tier

dire harbor
vagrant pagoda
solemn remnant

anything other than cs isn't even worth playing

raw zephyr
dire harbor
solemn remnant

alright tribes was pretty cool

dire harbor
drowsy prawn
#

Lets see what asus will release. There were sneak peaks of a 540hz from them

solemn remnant
#

and quakeworld and qwtf

dire harbor
#

better than Quake for me but low playerbase, sadly

vagrant pagoda
#

I would want to see if ghosting is any better at 540 than 220

gusty kiln
#

I bet ulmb 2 at 360hz will still look better than 500hz

raw zephyr
#

ql, cpma, qw are all 250fps limited iirc

drowsy prawn
#

But itll problly cost 1500 usd

raw zephyr
#

definitely ql and cpma

dire harbor
vagrant pagoda
#

That's real fast to be twisting

drowsy prawn
drowsy prawn
latent mural

I need a Monitor

What specs???

solemn remnant
#

best panel

dire harbor
raw zephyr
#

imo 500hz is worthless, barely any use out of that

drowsy prawn
gusty kiln
#

360 with good strobbing is the best atm

dire harbor
#

CSGO runs at average 600-700 for me

drowsy prawn
raw zephyr
#

sure 500hz panel can give you strobing headroom

dire harbor
raw zephyr
#

but is it any different from 360hz? don't think so

drowsy prawn
solemn remnant
#

nah it's gonna get replaced

#

yes

#

my uncle is gaben

dire harbor
solemn remnant
#

more like dota engine switch moment tbh

dire harbor
#

obsolete? CS2 is coming out, less fps but still optimised imo

drowsy prawn
#

So ye

dire harbor
rough osprey
#

lol

drowsy prawn
dire harbor
#

likely, probably still gonna leave the servers up for a while, but ultimately yeah

drowsy prawn
dire harbor
#

I wager with 13900k and 4090 I'll manage close to 500, if nothing else, on low

#

but might be wrong

solemn remnant
#

it literally exists in the same repository as CSGO, it won't be available after CS2 launches

gusty kiln
drowsy prawn
gusty kiln
#

360 has ulmb 2

vagrant pagoda
#

I mean strobing makes ghosting apear to be zero

drowsy prawn
#

And better image quality

#

But there are compromises

vagrant pagoda
#

Even if it's still there

drowsy prawn
vagrant pagoda
#

Because brain is dumb

dire harbor
#

can confirm, brain is dumb

gusty kiln
#

Gsync don't matter for those type of games

solemn remnant
#

all that matters is that it's off

drowsy prawn
cursive summit
#

Zenfones not leaving

vagrant pagoda
#

High frame rate makes gsync less usefull

#

As the chance of getting partial frame is so low because of how low frame time is

drowsy prawn
#

The aqn has a brighter screen

gusty kiln
#

You're going to have better motion handling with the 360 ips with ulmb2

drowsy prawn
gusty kiln
#

But if you want oled just get the oled

drowsy prawn
gusty kiln
#

Then why are you even asking the question

#

Just get the 360 hz

drowsy prawn
#

Cuz i wanted to maybe know about other aspects of oled

#

That are better than ips

#

Like backlight strobing

gusty kiln
#

There is no strobbing on oled

#

At least with monitors

drowsy prawn
#

But there is on ips and i didnt know that

dire harbor
#

yeah I am really excited about OLED in general, but the early versions have a tad of a problem with burn-ins, no?

cursive summit
#

OLEDs could be viable panel tech if virtually everything got OLED optimizations

gusty kiln
#

Cuz it damages it apparently

cursive summit
#

But since barely anything has any OLED optimizations, I am way too scared to get an OLED for a display

#

Way too many UI elements, taskbars, static elements to burn in permanently

#

Windows can be optimized to mitigate burn in, browsers somewhat, but afaik barely any games offer disappearing UI elements

drowsy prawn
#

Good to know

dire harbor
#

but mostly televisions until now, for mainstream? for gaming monitors its the recent years afaik

drowsy prawn
#

Doesnt asus have a software option that helps not to get a burn in?

dire harbor
#

and while TVs have better handled the burnin, the batches for gaming monitors have quite bad issues with burnin

#

I was checking some recent monitors and they got burnin after 4-6 months

solemn remnant
#

I've had an oled tv since uh 2014, LG CX for the last 3 years, no problems there. haven't used it as a pc monitor tho

dire harbor
#

came out this year I think, not sure which model from the top of the head

#

also I think Asus or someone refused burnin protection

raw zephyr
#

i dunno mates it's consumer electronics, it will die at some point, like batteries

drowsy prawn
#

Thats good. That means theyre confident with their product or sum

#

Oh

#

Okay

dire harbor
raw zephyr
#

your tv, pc, headphones will eventually die

dire harbor
#

as will I

drowsy prawn
solemn remnant
#

mortality

raw zephyr
#

just use the oled normally, i wouldn't go full schizo to save burn in

dire harbor
#

I agree, but moot point in this case

rough osprey
#

oled got the weird pixel subpixel layout

dire harbor
#

I specifically mean people having burn in after 6 months of usage

#

if it gets burn in after 4 years, fine

drowsy prawn
#

Model?

raw zephyr
#

even those will eventually die

drowsy prawn
#

Sqare ones?

#

Square

dire harbor
#

yeah it was made by different standards

drowsy prawn
#

They look nice

#

Fit?

dire harbor
#

sick aesthethics

drowsy prawn
#

So for fps games ips 360 will be better than 240 oled

#

Like mw2 valorant csgo type

raw zephyr
#

what do you use to power them @latent mural

rough osprey
#

the lg / asus oled still seems to have some black crush

drowsy prawn
#

Gaming type?

raw zephyr
#

i've tried so many expensive headphones just to go back to my old hd600 and love them the most

drowsy prawn
#

I heard that when using the aqn with gsync u can get a flashing black screen

rough osprey
#

so yeah oled still has a lot of things to get better at

drowsy prawn
#

Like for example steelseries makes gaming based headphones that have a built i mic or sum

raw zephyr
#

relatively cheap in audio space, comfortable and they sound the best to me

#

audio is very subjective, i see a lot of people hate on the hd600

drowsy prawn
#

So sonar comes in handy

#

For that

raw zephyr
#

ol ksc75

drowsy prawn
#

Ive had the arctis 7s for 4 years now i think imma need to switch, they die fast, dont have the best microphone

#

I think imma go for the nova pros with hot swappable batteries

#

Steelseries have overall bad marketing

#

Battery?

#

Maybe dp990 pro or sum

#

But an external mic

#

Wym usb one?

#

They cost 30 bucks?

#

But wym by usb headphones?

#

Oh

#

I get it

#

But wy think about dp990 pros?

#

They were my second option

gusty kiln
#

Depends if you can handle the treble

drowsy prawn
#

Ye

halcyon moss
#

drowsy prawn
#

Any more context?

halcyon moss
#

i got the dt770pro, i love 'm

vagrant pagoda
#

Yeah only USB headphones worth it are wireless imo

drowsy prawn
#

But what edition did u have?

#

There are editions that are more comfortable thats why i was asking

halcyon moss
#

huh?

drowsy prawn
#

Im rocking airpods. Are they comparable?

#

Like serious

gusty kiln
#

Pc38x still a good deal for gaming

drowsy prawn
#

Or a completete different?

#

Oh okay np

#

And would you reccomend for a mice?

#

No budget whatsoever

#

I tried to get the ulx but i missed them by an hour

#

Im dumb

#

I guess

#

The revievs are not there yet so maybe it was agood thing

#

Idk how did they get the same weight as the mk2

#

Same. But the mk2 was released 1 year ago

#

Is there a release date?

#

And price?

#

HOLY

#

thats expensive

#

More???

#

NAH IT HAS TO WEIGHT -1 grams in order for me to buy it

#

No way

#

Or have a 1bln hz polling rate

#

And rapid trigger

#

💀💀

#

Crazy

#

What will it have

#

That makes it 600

#

Ohh were getting there

#

Polling rate? 16-32k?

For sure

Nah i aint buying

Intel BGM-G10 GPU in the labs Intel Tech Tour provided direct access to the company’s most secure places currently engaged in next-gen client and enterprise product development. Intel saves the day with a Battlemage 2024 launch

Then next gen comes out and Intel becomes irrelevant again

astral haven

🤷 intel is more relevant than ever

astral haven

they have been making incredible strides with their drivers, and neither nv or amd have released competitive products yet

Man I hate the word "discontinues"

It's almost like AMD just dropped support altogether for 6600

Why can't they just say "stopped production"

astral haven

well to be entirely fair thats literally the same word everyone else uses where it doesnt mean dropped support either

I wonder how many years worth of drivers will 6000 series continue to get

And that's... 8 years old?

yeah I mean I'm just saying what people say where I know they have either second or nearly firsthand info, but I havent said anything except I think zen5 is going to be really great here xD

MC: It's going be great! I wish I could tell you of all what's coming. I have this annual architecture meeting where we go over everything that's going on, and at one of them (I won't say when) the team and I went through Zen 5. I learned a lot, because of nowadays as running the roadmap, I don't get as close to the design as I wish I could. Coming out of that meeting, I just wanted to close my eyes, go to sleep, and then wake up and buy this thing. I want to be in the future, this thing is awesome and it's going be so great - I can't wait for it. The hard part of this business is knowing how long it takes to get what you have conceived to a point where you can build it to production.

The California effect is the shift of consumer, environmental and other regulations in the direction of political jurisdictions with stricter regulatory standards. The name is derived from the spread of some advanced environmental regulatory standards that were originally adopted by the U.S. state of California and eventually adopted in other st...

The Brussels effect is the process of unilateral regulatory globalisation caused by the European Union de facto (but not necessarily de jure) externalising its laws outside its borders through market mechanisms. its better than the air because air was giant

astral haven

what

vagrant pagoda
#

you couldnt pocket the air with any lense on it

astral haven
#

what????

vagrant pagoda
#

the air has no lense

#

you gotta stick one on it

astral haven
#

yes?

#

it uses mft lenses

#

they are microscopic

vagrant pagoda
#

the sony is smaller with a lense

astral haven
#

yea thats the low tier one that has a 1 inch sensor

vagrant pagoda
#

air is way bigger

#

not really pocketable

astral haven
#

yea but it can take better than smartphone images

#

and its not a crazy amount bigger

vagrant pagoda
#

and the 2.3 sony is about the szie of the air with no lense

astral haven
#

the qx1 could at least get you passable images, but sony doesnt make lenses anywhere near as small as MFT

#

at least not with reasonable image quality

#

but it also was not small

#

61 megapixel with pixel shift, in the a7c body

#

its tiiiny

#

and it has IBIS (obviously to do pixel shift but it bears repeating)

#

high key interested especially for clear image zoom keeping autofocus

i have the 50-100 F1.8 APS-H lens and its a beauty

#

dunno how much I can get for my a7iv tho
also micro hdmi? 🤢

#

I wish they would do video out over USB C

#

there already exist adapters to take out video and insert power over Usb C

#

like this is incredible

#

and now you can get 33 or 61 megapixels in that size, both with the new AI tracking autofocus

#

like even if you digital zoom to the same size sensor as the apsc, its still higher res than anything besides the new fuji XH2

apple was one of the first with good pull tabs

you just lose capabilities because get screwed

anything that has an over 1/4 chance of breaking if you dont heat it up is not a "good" pull tab imo
