i think the theory is run as much as possible on the xr2 (including upscaling and controllers and stuff)
and the x86 can go to sleep whenever theres no steamvr game running

also reprojection on the xr2

could reproject from 45 to 144 or whatever probably?

I mean I was thinking if you do core parking on phx2 correctly you could have lower power than steamdeck apu potentially and just have that always be the main focus so you dont have x86/arm switchero

basically have the xr2 act like vrcompositor.exe or whatever its called
as well as doing the 3dof calculation, passthrough, and controllers

when you also have it run the reprojection on top of that you could have extremely smooth transitions, lower the workload on x86, and youd be able to avoid the complete freezing of the headset that sometimes happens when running games and makes me extremely sick

and 3840x3840 is also completely possible when you can make 3840x2160

and with the quest 2 steamvr they are encoding the video, then stuffing it over usb!

if they could just blast the data directly without encoding it would be better than what the q2 has

I personally used the logitech f510 for a while I really don't like it

It's better than a dualshock 3 which is super cramped but modern controllers are generally a lot better

Still find the standardization around XInput kind of bad, as the protocol really does not allow for extra buttons / axes to be mappable

It's mostly a there exists only one controller.
Easy for devs to work with but more limited.
I really wish it was more like dinput but a bit more streamlined.

Then again knowing game devs they would have stumbled over it
