A part of the Dragon Age series was always that choices would carry over to the next game. It happens in all of them.

In DA2 you use your DA1 save data. For Inquisition you use the Dragon Age Keep where a ton of your choices through the previous games (and also ones made while playing Inquisition) are kept. But now they ditched Keep.

Modern GoW is definitly a shift and a break away from the previous installment.

When it released i was definitly caught off guard.

However. Even if it differs wildly, i think it works beautifully.

I honest to god (of war) think, they did a great job.
They took opportunity of the time and didnt just try to remake the previous ganes and styles and running danger of putting out stale vread right out the oven.
And instead innovated with a known character who changed. And enough time passed to basically delve into a new past while creating new story while still throwing in callnacks to the old kratos.
