the basic issue is that due to a defect most og xbox360 gpus get hotter than they should warping the pcb and cracking solder balls. the only thing you can do is prolong the life by modding in bigger fans that move more air

Nope, they can hibernate, and do pseudo suspend-resume, but it's still way longer than what Deck can do

Hibernate sure, suspend-resume very often results in game crash

Though I had never issues with suspend on Deck

the hit reg part of subtick is working fine, other parts like movement and shit still ain't there honestly. and the servers can be bad quite often, which results in loss, which can result to bad hit reg, but that isn't the game's fault, it's the server or the player's connection to it

and when the shooting animations were tied to the tickrate of the server it was even more confusing, because the feedback of a shot was all over the place. it is a lot better now though

if you use the max rate of 1000000 CS2 only uses 8MB of up/down bandwidth, so it's not an issue really. the issue can be packet loss, which has been pretty frequent on valve servers even with good connections

the routing was all over the place at some point, and there have been problems during peak times as well

anyway yeah I agree with you on many points. cs2 isn't ready, it doesn't feel perfect, the launch was botched, csgo was a more fine-tuned and fair feeling experience overall
but I do understand why they wanted to launch it this way, they need the playerbase to hop on and flood them with feedback and bug reports so they can get it ready for the major next year
I've been enjoying it a lot since they updated the shooting animations to be synced to your fps instead of the server's tickrate, shooting feels fine for the most part now in my opinion. many more things to fix, but eventually it'll be good

and probably the biggest point is: this way they didn't divide the playerbase. I'm sure the majority would've stayed on csgo and cs2 would've lagged behind on everything then. already saw this when we jumped from 1.6 to source, which is probably the main reason they wanted to force their hand on this thing

But no...it was a deaded pixel

I had looked in all different lighting connections, different angles. I did that 3 times with no flaws.

Things run a LOT better on this than I expected

Diablo 4 Low-Med Native res with a 45FPS(90HZ) lock is rock solid and honestly looks...fantastic lol. I thought it'd run like ass.

And Steams estimate on battery life was like 4 hours, 30 minutes.

Very respectable for a 2023 AAA game

You know how insane the HDR capability of this is? It can do 800 nits @100%

That's better than the vast majority of TVS, sure it's only 7.4 inches, but the highlights are insane

Also some people have been working on OCing the screen to 120hz.

One went fine, got it from 60 to pretty stable 75Hz, another one... well... It was €20, so not big deal

On a related note, I just ran dead-pixel test on my monitor and found out I have 2 of those in lower right corner

It's a pretty old monitor at my work, so I'm not surprised it's slowly dying

For a display which only shows mail and Teams the whole time it does its job fine

The WiFi is my real complainIt's just super bad

Extremely weak signal even if you stick it right next to your AP

My phone & Laptop can get 70MB/s, this thing struggles at 15-20

Some rare random games hit as high as 50, but majority are 15-20.

Signal strength under it ias at like 50-60%

Oh and DO not bother doing local transfers

Local transfers from my Desktop to Laptop max out at like 130MB/s. To the deck it's like 10. lol

There's also one awkward thing, having not owned a Deck. Cloud Saves. Apparently a lot of native Linux games cloud saves aren't compatible with Windows, so if you wanna play games switching between devices you need to force a proton instead of native

Latency was averaging 3.9ms according to my UDMSE

So it's disappointing when I go to download a SD game and max out at like 10-15MB/s when I know I can hit 60-70MB/s on Wifi on any other device pretty much

Unless you d oa trick, go to Desktop and turn off screen after 1 minute, then open Steam Big Picture and start downloads, let idle and it works, but it's clumsy

You can, Valve RMAs dead pixels, you could also swap screen with iFixit ones

Shell for swap comes in 2 weeks, I hope all potential dead pixels will show up during that time, in case of RMA
