that's a remarkable budget for a sequel to a game that was on the radar for a few weeks 10 years ago and then vanished
oh, it had a bit of a Duke Nukem Forever going on, development was restarted a few times
Hexworks had high ambitions for the game, with Virtosu adding that the studio set out to be "the second reference [after FromSoftware]" for the Soulsborne genre by making "Dark Souls 4.5". based, I should check it out one of these days
Aaaaand BG3 is finally finished. It definitely is one of the games of all time.
good job
I'd actually even say one of the greatest, didn't you like it in the end?
oh and did you do house of hope? peak gaming moment for me
he missed a boatload of stuff I'm sure, the latest restart was so recent lul
I did almost everything.
But I definitely rushed through a lot of act 3.
The game just drags on and on, and there's way too much content there compared to the first two chapters.
Did house of hope as well, but Raph didn't get a s chance to sing.
YouTube
I also snuck the hammer out of its cage without the code.
Cause I'm sneaky like that. Gotta break the game.
I made the deal and broke it
I bought the portal recipe, killed the seller and ignored the insane ghost.
Hope or whatever
that storyline was great too
Also blew up Gortash with the massive barrel you can nick from the suicidal gnome in act 1
Fun times.
sounds fun
I watched zero spoilers, gameplay stuff or anything, just handled everything organically
Too many things to miss organically in act 3.
Mage tower, the haunted painting, the whole mecha factory/underwater prison thing.
Did it on 50, though skipping combat.
Turn based just doesn't work with more than ten combatants. The game's killing me with waiting
seems like we had vastly different experiences
I like just watching the guys move, what bugs me though was sometimes the characters freeze and wait a while after an action has happened already
I spent more time alt tabbed, waiting for enemies to go through turns than playing those 50 hours.
So I gave up in act 3 and just turned Minsc into a machine that could kill anything not a boss in a single hit and gave him unlimited actions and movement

different strokes and so on
The old BG games handles combat much faster.
Everyone acts at the same time in real-time turns.
With actual pausing. Who'd have thought.
higher difficulties were always spam space fests, I like the larian way more since it's closer to dnd
I did enjoy the brief Bhaal sidestory that Dark Urge got though.
Anyhow. It's 1AM. Time for bed.
nighto
More like an action filled immersive story shooter
spooky?
pffffff
there are none
Uh there is one from the doggies in the beginning
There is the blind apes
There is a few
Not that many too call it spooooooky
well not spooky, more like tense and atmospheric
Also bean can works too
We can thank the Brits for it
Hey has anyone gotten any valorant bans for "third party software" recently? looking into any reason I got banned since I just did a test where it was only discord & task manager and im still getting flagged
Are you using the wooting macro package?
That's the only thing I can think of from wooting that would trigger Anti Cheat.
Ok thanks
No
When we use Wooting we dont need counter strafe ? ( valorant ? )
Don’t mean to genuinely contribute but this is why single player RPG ftw
what
buy the game and 🐝 happy, no reason to ban u from it

I mean worst case scenario u attempt adding an unsupported mod pack it’ll be rejected/not detected or introduce funny stuff
Actual advantage of a steam account is if you bought the game, switched PCs/tore down old one just log in and re-download
.
Is it possible to be banned from only a single game mode? Like being able to play COD MWII campaign but not DMZ for instance
Rate my setup:
Playing Pokemon Prism, on a EZ-fash jr, on a gameboy player, using swiss-gc for 480p output and GBI, using a stadia controller as the controller, using a capture card just to stream the audio to my headphones.
yes
yes
Tryhard / 10
Mostly cursed but it allows me to continue playing on my gameboy without messing with transfering saves back and forth.
As for the controller, the dpad of the gamecube controller is not great and the stadia controller has the best one.
That being said it's far from perfect, what would make it better is if my capture card would capture at native 480p instead of upscaling it or if I could scale the output to 1440p but still it works nicely
Stadia controller is so good
And cheap as no one cares about it
I got it in the discounted stadia bundle and got refunded for it, so that nets me a free chromecast + controller or almost free if you consider inflation.
what series?
I bought 2 for $15 each, like new, I just had to clean them, they had some scuffs, and I'm looking for at least 2 more
And the people who sold them basically got free money
People got free money, I got really good controllers for dirt cheap, win-win
btw another cheap controller tip (potentially) you can now recalibrate dual shock 4 controllers, so fixing ones with stick drift is a lot more viable.
It took quite some time before someone reverse engineerd it and created at tool to do so
Here DS4 are unfortunately rare for some reason, and once someone decides to sell one costs more used than new DualSense
I replaced thumbssticks of 2 defective ones left at work by the pervious tennent / sister company. So it was just replacing the thumb stick here.
Metro games
that was before the fix, they were still somewhat off-center due to calibration but now they work perfectly.
As someone with a lot of controllers and no sony home consoles newer than a ps3 I don't have one (yet). As for xbox never really liked them much in the past but never really tried newer ones than the 360 because nobody owns an xbox anymore.
whaa
Hah, same here, I have 6 controllers, my newest console is PS2 (3DS if we're including handhelds)
If you include handhelds I have newer things, steam deck if you count it, switch, ps-vita
For home consoles I do own a wii and a ps3 the later I bought during the pc gaming drought in the zeroes
Oh yeah
I subconsciously do not consider Deck a console
And my Switch is not a console per se, so much so a dumping station
Do note that all my consoles are hacked in some form
Same
But PS2 only with FMCB and DS with ACE* cart
For me it's gameboy with ezflash jr gba sp with ezflash omega (both recently) ds lite with a decent amount of flashcards. the rest of the consoles all soft mods, with the gamecube using a save hacked transferred onto it using a switch and some sd-memory card adapter for data.
oh I forgot I also have a gateway 3ds for when that was the way to hack it.
I wanted to get GBA with EZFlash, but I couldn't find one locally, so I opted in for DS Lite with ACE3DS and gbarunner2, works great for me
3DS is running Luma with b9s, Switch runs Hekate + Atmosphere on emuNAND, PS2 has FMCB and is connected to NAS for games
fair enough my gba / gameboy were just from when I was little and I have since ips-modded both of them so I already had them.
I don't own a ps2, never did but honestly in terms of home-consoles I am mostly fine with emulation, I probably wouldn't bother with such large objects other than the ones I already have.
Wii I emulate if I play wii games despite owning the physical console.
I bought PS2 solely because I found some pink one I always liked in thrift shop for like $20, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother
the nice thing with hdmi-out on a gamecube is that it comes with a digital port (or at least mine does) so it is a relatively inexpensive adapter for hdmi.
I never owned a ps2 so I mostly skipped it having no nostalgia for its exclusives. Mostly been PC + nintendo historically.
I have a lot of nostalgia for ps2 era games, not so much for ps2 itself, I'm PC gamer first and foremost, 19 years already
Oh yeah, ps2 era was defo a golden one
19 year old is almost a PS3 era gamer lol
Surprising you had a 2
My first console was knockoff of a knockoff of a Famicom
Ew, Nintendo
I feel what made the era especially great is that the budgets were mostly modest. Even a AAA game was made by a small enough team. Studio's took some real risks back then. The ps360 era was still great but studios started to become more risk-averse especially at the end.
dendy user detected
Ya, that was Pegasus in PL
And I had a knockoff of Pegasus
lol
my first console was a ps3 but largely i grew up on pc / keyboard and mouse till my computer went kaput and i was forced to use consoles up until i got a gaming laptop (which is out of commission now and upgraded for a better gaming laptop)
This boi
I first had a gameboy color before having any home console, my first one was my gamecube around launch.
I did game on pc before then though, mostly rts mostly older titles as my mom's pc was not the fastest.
i could never get the hang of aiming with an analog stick tbh, my siblings would always absolutely body me in fps games when i played on console for a decent chunk of my youth
I was 4 when I had this piece of plastic, I got my first PC at the age of 6, and was PC gamer since then
do you even use the keyboard part for anything
Yeah, there was "99999999999 in 1" cartridge included and there were some really shitty games which used keyboard
Also arrows were mapped as a d-pad and A/S as B/A in games
wtf
There's also questions why did they can years of work in cutscenes and animations cause they thought users would be too dumb to get to
And for my PC it was a beast for 2004:
- AMD Sempron 3000+
- ATI Radeon 9550
- 1 GB SDRAM
- Asus K8N motherboard
- 80GB HDD
and even it had a DVD burner
Running Windows XP and destroying that GTA:SA on medium with 25FPS
i remember my first pc it was a clunker of an optiplex
Lucky you, having a discrete GPU in that era
at least it had a graphics card in it
I mean it still has, it still works, and I still have it
wanna know how my first pc went the way of the dodo
i upgraded the linux kernel in linux mint to a version unsupported by the other packages and it messed my pc up so bad that it would get stuck in plymouth and ignore all input
probably forgot to upgrade the driver half of the kernel
and i told grub to not show windows on boot
After my first there were laptops, also all AMD-based, there were 3 until I came back to tower PCs and now having 3600X with 6700XT
and i didnt know about bios boot menu or recovery drives back then so i was boned
someone else installed linux for me instead of letting me learn how to myself
I was 9 when I learned to install and configure Windows all by myself
Maybe that's why I'm like this
not a good first experience with linux, honestly surprised i kept coming back to it when i could
the thing is i knew how to set up and configure new devices as a kid
My first pc was a hand-off I don't remember, after that I got a pentium 4 based one with some ati gpu I can't remember exactly ( it had 128mb vram) that one was shared with my brother.
I also got a laptop at some point. my first dedicated system was still oem with a hd 4800 (later switched for a hd5770 because oem's can't do cooling even then) and a phenom II 910.
After that it was self-build upgrades.
but my mom for some reason didnt trust me to install linux despite me being the person to set up every tech device around the house
i wanted ubuntu as my first distro but the guy my mom had install linux on my pc saddled me with linux mint
honestly dont regret that knowing what ubuntus like now lmao
Linux started on laptops which were rather slow and performed much better on linux. only until proton became viable did I make the plunge full-time.
Even my 2016 laptop which was not that slow I used linux because I liked it more than windows at that point, just took a bit longer for my desktop to switch.
my pc was basically a minecraft machine back then so linux mint served it just fine
also played a couple valve games on it
My first experience with Linux was somewhere around 2015, with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and I absolutely hated it, because I couldn't make APU (AMD Kaveri) drivers to work
Later I found out it's just Ubuntu which does have issues with it and needs some repository and configuration witchcraft
So, here I am, using Linux for 5 years now and 2 years with no Windows PC at all
And I still hate Ubuntu
My first real linux use was also ubuntu but got fed up with it in 2012ish because system upgrades broke the system more than once.
i actually have both a macbook (which runs macos) and a gaming laptop (which dual boots windows and linux)
dabbled with a bunch of different distro's and since I was installing different desktop environments on it anyway settling for arch was the sane option. It is better documented than the alternatives and the install process is not that bad if you read the manual.
so in reality i use all 3 major OSes semi-regularly
windows is probably my least used though
Never actually use a mac, only at work do I have to support people using a mac sometimes, which works surprisingly well if you know to find the terminal.
honestly i find macOS has a ludicrously high skill ceiling despite the skill floor being like 6 feet under
That being said I would probably not be able to stand daily driving macos
probably because all the macs you've seen dont have any apps that extend the functionality of the desktop environment itself
macOS's desktop environment kinda sucks without some apps to extend it
I used macOS for 4 months or so before leaving it for good, I just didn't liked it at all, and I'm trying to keep away from Windows as far as possible, so all my stuff is running Linux
And I don't really know how to describe it, but ever since I jumped into Linux... computers are fun again. I love tinkering with stuff and sticking fingers where I probably shouldn't, and switching from Win to Linux was like a breath of fresh air
like my macOS has full tiling window management
which is nice
still havent set up any keybinds for it though
thats why i like linux so much actually
i wasn't around for when computers really were like that natively (e.g. commodore 64) but its nice being able to tinker with a computer
I just like feeling like I am in charge of my system + it works more efficient how I set up vs windows.
I still use it whenever I dust off my vr set which is rarely.
Same, I'd really wish though, but I was released the same year GBC was
same, feels like any time i touch it windows update screams "HAHA! YOU'VE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD!" and makes me wait to install updates before im let free back into linux
same thats pretty much all i do with windows
the way microsoft designs windows makes me want to scream internally
i keep windows update cause it still provides critical security patches and bios updates
yes apparently windows update supplies automatic bios updates on my pc
stupid but thats how it is

I still don't understand why MS won't just talk with Intel, AMD and Nvidia to solve this all drivers kerfuffle
I know, I was there when Windows 10 released
But I see no use for Windows for me
lol
also anyhow with OpenGL/Vulkan you also get far better linux compatibility
because no stupid DXVK layer
Id software also mostly ignored DX for openGL / vulkan, wonder if they are forced to bite the bullet now that they are microsoft-owned
Ew, linux
i mean DXVK works just fine most of the time though
so its not a huge biggie
but if studios are concerned about making a linux native version OpenGL/Vulkan support is pretty important
luckily most of the time they just have to make sure proton works well to get deck verified
Native vulkan is still better than VK3D
it is indeed
They're gonna go D3D for sure
usually the less translation layers the better
Vulkan just isn't keeping up, especially with HDR becoming more common
fair enough
Linux bubble without any real hdr screens, didn't know it had limitations on that front.
Just know it was a bit behind with RT implementation.
Is that really noteworthy
HDR seems like RTX in a way, not really taking off much in gaming
SpecialK has an expirmental new beta for HDR10
RTX is only relevant imo in computations
HDR in cinema
Gaming seems to be stuck in 2010s in terms of tech, gamers just don't give a fuck
Eh HDR can be massively impressive in a lot ofd games
Days Gone and RE4 Remake HDR is mind blowing
Well, Linux HDR is not teven a real thing right now.
So I would generalized it software in general.
We are talking about PC though
Also, is HDR on IPS panels really useful?
OLEDs and prolly minileds with dimming zones can really love HDR
Not so much IPS?
Unless you have a good fald backlight not so much, though the color space could very well be useful.
I'll get an oled sometime when the hdr ecosystem matures on linux.
this is both maturing of the tech and I don't feel like upgrading my monitor right now.
I'm less interested in OLED as much as I'm interested in mini/microLED
OLED's burnout is too much of a concern
miniLED is so damn vibrant and saturated I kinda want one
It does not seem to be catastrophic, just make sure to moderate brightness.
There is definitely work being done by valve on gamescope and wayland support for it.
I would not say never here.
Wayland will be obsolete before it'll support HDR
People there have issues with such fundamental things like allowing applications to control window placement ffs

Wayland has it's issues but there are not a lot of big issues fundamentally I suffer from.
Window placement is annoying whenever I start firefox everything gets dumped onto a single screen but other than that it's mostly fine / software bugs.
linux will get proper HDR support when a next gen steamdeck has an OLED screen
Having multi monitor variable refresh rate and mixed refresh rate working is already good enough.
I found that it just throws a window on whenever display I have currently cursor on, so it's kinda convenient
Tbh I prefer having the compositor be fully responsible for all window placements. Yes it's kinda sucky since session restore isn't properly implemented but rather that than broken clients that position their windows stupidly
LOOKING AT YOU STEAM
Not issues I regularly encounter, screen sharing seems to work fine as long as you are not using the desktop client of discord which is just not great on linux.
Wayland was not that great but the end result is still some progress, Xorg was a mess broken and could not really support modern features, such as my setup mixed refresh rates, hdr in the future, multi monitor adaptive sync.
Portals ones implemented work well, just takes a really long time.
As for compositor having the two separate is fine in practice. it was not like kwin and such didn't do their own stuff on top of xorg anyway.
It could very well be that most switch to wlroots and that becomes the defacto standard (kde has flirted with the idea as well)
(although xwayland still lets clients self position so ugh steam is forever broken I guess)
Just reimplement X11 behaviours on a new codebase, it could be that simple
But no, some neckbeards will veto features, because they don't use this feature, despite the fact that 98% other users would greatly benefit from it -.-
Sometimes I hate Linux elitists so much...
ah yes the ole thumbnails in the gnome file picker situation
luckily i think thats a feature now
but it wasnt for the longest time
Still it is to late to change things and wayland may very well have been a kne jerk counter to x11 but as it stands it is what is going to be used and in practice it is almost all the way there as a protocol for general use.
The work mostly rests on software implementing things correctly. And that Includes discord (screen sharing both works in chromium and firefox so little reason why it should remain broken in discord)
Wayland should as a protocol also be more robust in the future.
Here's to Valve, with hope that what they did to gaming ecosystem on Linux with their support for Proton and DXVK/VKD3D would also happen to gamescope and make it a rival for Wayland as a "modern" compositor
Secluded Orchid was made by pure coincidence while I was out of the house one day. The 3D scenes took roughly 2 hours and 5000 8K photos, which were then used to make high quality 3D models and were eventually imported into Unreal Engine 5, it took a total of 15 days to make the arm model, control, cutscene animation and UI design.
This is the...
Constantly? I doubt it.
But it probably needs it for new decryption keys for discs and so on and so forth.
Disc drives have always been serialized, so it makes sense for a detatchable one to be paired that way.
Always maybe a strong word but certainly in the last 2 generations.
Yup, needs internet only during pairing
I wonder if they will make add on piracy devices lol
that either hijacks the disc drive or can read out the serial
that would be interesting, but I feel like sony has it's security model working well enough. End of the day the only extra attack surface is the pairing step.
Ok but say that server is gonezo
It's wild the whole point of a disc drive is you don't need the internet
What does raw input buffer do with the wooting in the valorant? Wasn't it meant for high-polling-rate mice?
it's to pair
not to use
presumably
I don't think it is a big deal here, good luck playing most games without the day one patch.
As I understand not all games come with the full data on disk anyway.
raw input is for all mice
not just high polling
and you always wanna deactivate it anyways
working fully online was never really an option on ps5
Yes, but why is the guy saying to turn it on?
But what if in the future the server is gone?
Then you can't use it
At that point the blueray drive will already have been paired with the console
it would only be a problem for future combinations of blueray drives and consoles after the servers are down.
you couldn't pair it
premusably
also
you pretend like the lm in a ps5 would not have dried up by then
Lmao
This is why we have so many obvious icons in games these days
and characters hinting how to solve puzzles
I mean if you have an offline console that's old, new games won't work either unless you update
Bro took Flight seriously 💀💀
Who tf is kai cenat
Guy that injured a fuck ton of people recently lol
His driver took off with people on his car
What pisses me off is that these fuckers are literally about my age
Man do I hate this generation
Just a streamer that is an excellent troll
Oh that guy
I just remembered it happened because of some random Twitch streamer lol
What's this
a young grasshopper
Right, and why
Huh
Thanks Bing
Yet.
Well with how things are nowadays, it's kinda scary
At this point M/F designators are probably taboo and borderline a slur
...what
Assuming genderoos be looked down upon on the interwebs
Where you from?
Just wanted to say, if you say your nick in my language, it means moron.
Oh it's a fellow zapierdole
So is it intentional?
Debil's nickname is intentional
Xd
Not joking though
Thank god they aren't just going to implement some upscalers or frame generators and are PROPERLY fixing performance
Lol people are hating hard
If you defend 30FPS target, you a clown
30FPS is fuckin fine in a city builder
I mean, sure
But not on empty map 💀
I do wonder where did they fuck up with performance
seems a bit weird having such an arbitrary limitation tho
There are YouTube channels that specialize in reverse-engineering Unity games
Tools are made to get the source code and everything
I wonder if they'll make an episode with source code and project files reverse-engineered from the binaries to see wtf happened to this shit
what tools lol
did they set up the core game for consoles first hand or something
most unity games ship first a very much reverseable dll
thanks to still being largely c# bytecode for .net
Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll
I've watched a vid not long ago analyzing specific Unity games performance in reverse engineered code
Supposedly the practice is somewhat kept hush
lol no
1fps is fine in a city builder
Heck no, even JetBrains, one of the biggest software companies has a tool for .NET decompilation called dotPeek
the whole bytecode to csharp is not getting the original source code (nothing ever will)
but the bytecode is easily reversed into readable and usable c# code
as mentioned dotPeek reconstructs it quite well and another alternative is dnSpy
Why performance is shite? I'm pretty sure because of non-optimized graphical pipelines
Just like in most games lately
But graphics sells, so let's go, it doesn't matter if the game runs in 30FPS, that's what DLSS if for, duh
Ok
I'm sorry Epic
I thought your launcher is the worst
But it's nothing compared to GOG Galaxy
The only launcher which could hang and kill my desktop session
Thank heavens Heroic Launcher exists
https://fxtwitter.com/heroicgg/status/1717150704664449417 speaking of heroic
For the grand total of 0 people that care about esports here
that's kind of sad considering the market segment
Excuse my sir, this is Valorante and Apex Legends server
Go back to your peasant konter stryk
valarante child game.... look to cartoon grapfix to make kid player happy like children show.. valarante cartoon world with rainbow unlike counter strike with dark corridorr and raelistic gun.. valarante like playhouse. valarant playor run from csgo fear of dark world and realism
I care just as much about virtual sports as I do the real life ones. Which is to say.... Go team?
You go play that soccergolfbal you!
So... nothing at all?
Unpopular opinion, but Football Manager and FIFA are more fun to play and watch than actual football
true
actual football is a blast to play
watching...yeah
watching any sport is just awful
I second this
The only sports I enjoy watching are darts and maybe snooker
Football is so boring
Only sports that are actually fun to watch are esports
huh how are those any better
Privileged kids pastime
I used to watch a lot of mma but not in recent years, sometimes I have a chess tournament on the background but it's usually not that intensive so you can do a lot of other stuff
but yeah watching cs is fun
Than football? I'm not keen on watching adult guys crying and screaming while they're rolling on the grass to force a penalty shot -.-
I used to sail in local regattas when I was a kiddo
that was the only time I ever seriously competed
good times
then there's American football
and Australian football
both are great as well
for completely different reasons
So handegg and footy
aussie football ain't exactly footy
rugby is a very different sport
Rugby is a bit different that handegg
Same trash
Rugby rules actually make sense
it isn't
So.. it is
oft, the moron is the one who speaks the truth
failing to detect when such truth is inconvenient
Just like Socrates
the wise fool of ancient Greece
Equating Socrates to Debil is an insult to Socrates and the word wise
Like, let's not

Socrates was a different kind of wise
dipshit knew nothing

but unlike everyone else
he knew it
"Takes one to know one"
you did
Didn't seem to disagree
you know Socrates ended up being executed for "corrupting the youth of the city", among other things
right?
Such a great educator, he also specialized in pre-pubescent sex-ed
I heard practice makes perfect was his motto
Ancient Greece is honestly a really interesting time period cause historians tend to fight eachother over the facts there
sources are scarce and it was a long time ago, which makes sense
are you guys really discussing a 2000 year dead old greek?
200???
try 2500 ish
...tbh 2500 years ago...record is oddly weird time to lose
since the world has only existed for...5784 years

what?
nothing google helped me

No no, not her
David Jaffe's the creator of God of War and Twisted Metal
The exec seems to have not done much other than be a scapegoat
Ohhh... oddly phrased indeed.
"PlayStation head of production"
Well that explains literally nothing 😄
So one of those execs I guess, where they are there to take the blame for higher ups

I was hella interested in this game
Some proper medieval building sim with actual large sized combat
Ah rip. EA delayed till next year. Should be worth it though.
Developer has been super open about development and provided a ton of updates almost weekly I think for over a year

I hope that's a typo
also what even should be the typo?
I have no idea..
am guessing raper
I somehow doubt they can trademark a word as vague as that.
The whole Scrolls situation all over.
yup, I assume you saw the stream? the crowd was very loud but I dont think they showed that on stream haha

Amongst many others
it's an announcement trailer not a concert xD
Sky is fuckin so litigious that they WILL take you to court if you use the word Sky
Contra is even worse cause Sky is a word, Contra is not, so if Konami wants to, they will sue your ass and prolly win lol
I never said they couldn't TRY to sue.
They wouldn't win against anyone who can bear the costs of a day in court.
Well they sure took down Microsoft easily lel
Not really
Well yes they did
Yeah they won an initial ruling.
First time in court? It could and would have been appealed if Microsoft cared about the branding.
Well yes cause it's an english word, Sky
Contra is not a word in a dictionary last I checked
Far easier to attack other companies that use the word with
Contra is opposite right?
Contrary
DuckDuckGo. Privacy, Simplified.
Uhhhh
We inventing words now eh
Well no.
Whatever, I guess it exists
You wrong yo
Indeed
You're just being contra(ry) now, Vex
It seems it's a prefix in English
It's defo a word in Polish though
It is
Basically "counter"
So idk why counter and contra exists

Not those counters
Yes yes somehow contra is an actual word in the dictionary
Makes no sense but it exists
'contraflow' very good term to describe certain traffic arrangements
You VEX me.

Looks like you've missed
It's end of October and there's no Silent Hill transmission announcement.. hm
I hope they make it a yearly thing but I guess that's not granted to be one
SH2 has no release date though, a bit off

@flat frost you might also enjoy the 16 crossover crowd cheers xD
With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases.
Could be fake
Could be real
Who knows
Prolly true
Leaks are enough to confirm that GTA VI exists, and is targeted towards PS5/XSX
Well GTA VI has been officially announced so
It definitely exists lol
I don't remember any platform leaks though
PC not being a platform makes no sense
It makes sense, this is the Rockstar standard hoping for the PC gamers double dipping
Explore the First In-Engine Look at METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, currently under development using Unreal Engine 5.
All of the game's environments are rendered in UE5 and captured in-game in real time.
METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is a remake of METAL GEAR SOLID 3 SNAKE EATER, first released in 2004.
Enjoy the original story of the fir...
Looks surprisingly old yet really new
It's really weird they went with UE5, given there were documents about Fox Engine being still in active development
Well it makes sense to abandon your own engine
Don't need those extra devs, more support, etc
You take a relatively major cash hit, but I guess it's worth it
I dunno
Fox Engine is still state-of-the-art piece of software
And its performance is unbelievable
That looks good though
What really threw me off was the perspective
It feels very.. fish eyed?
Uneasy on the eyes
Lol what kind of shit are you playing
That looks good
Snek? Solid Snek?
This one is Nakd Snek
Naked Snake and 3 of his "sons" - Solid, Liquid and Solidus
Supercritical snek?
Solidus doesn't sound like a gas
Fake snake
That looks actually really good
Also Venom Snek, but he's not his son
Really nice character model
The fuck is that headline
"poorer reality"
Gamers are poorer cause Ninja or xQc aren't getting 100 million dollar deals?
I have no idea what does video game industry has to do with livestreamers deals
oh look, it's sewer snake
I love how MK1 community has unilaterally agreed that Pitbull's International Love is now theme for Johnny Cage

Release Date
Coming soon
This looks incredible
Wildcard please don't fuck this up
Since Unity lit itself on fire no one trusts the company anymore. I predict a continued shift to UE5 unless Epic messes that up like Unity did which they still might
O.o
I got Cyperpunk 2077 to work with analog controls... that was fun 🙂
that was already the case a while back, no?
there haven't been content updates since
is that now security updates as well?
(look at the @ )
I wouldn't put cockstar past a simple typo
unless that's an intentionally fake account
satire account
We are excited to announce that Squadron 42 is now feature-complete!
As we move into the polishing phase, we’re fully focused on optimizing and fine-tuning all aspects of the gameplay experience to deliver an unprecedented cinematic adventure. To celebrate this milestone, we have gathered our core development leadership from around the globe to...
so is this game actually happening now or
"we're in polishing phase now" oh god
Still the only way to get access to it is only by $1300 pack
You can get this pack on Star Citizen's Store, it's the most expensive game package
Otherwise... yeah, it's not available to get by itself
Its pledge pack returns 404
Some theorize they pulled it because EU regulations, which prohibit selling games without definite release date
They probably start selling it again when it's ready
polish as in the country
they are gonna make is slavjank
23% VAT
Polish roads are famous for being in constant piece of shit state
I wonder though if Star Citizen is region locked, so I could potentially* buy it with no VAT added
I member how with Escape from Tarkov you could buy "Europe" region version while VPNed to other country, so Xsolla didn't add VAT on top of ridiculous price they already are charging
And "Europe" region is basically no region lock
It's a bit more expensive though
Oh, they are sophisticated it seems
They're so elitist they're basically telling "region locks are for console peasants"
Their pricing strategy seems to be the same price everywhere and potential necessary fees added to the price
I'm remembering when I ran an ARK server, I wanted to have a lot of breathing room for dropping and finding items again, so I set global world item despawn to something ridiculously high.
Little did I know that this included poop.
And there are no server parameters for making the distinction between other items and poop.
After about a day of playing, the beach we were building on was covered in poop. There were massive columns of it where our passive tames spent the day standing.
I eventually had to balance item despawn time entirely around the longest time I can have it while preventing the world from getting carpeted in poop.
Every single released mod in Super Mario Bros. Wonder as of 1.38am BST on October 26th 2023.Full list of mods used: https://pastebin.com/Ac0whbRd0:00 Intro3:...
Homebrew is mega fast
New items does not necessarily mean a lot of new/different code for the game engine as a whole.
There's a reason why modders could mod Starfield on day 1, because it is functionally near identical to Skyrim and Fallout 4 in the engine and file structure.
Also loads of things are just configured in plaintext
Does anyone have a good profile for fortnite that he can share please , a game profile would be enjoyed as well
Did you look on the profile site
looks like animations were directly ported from the original
looks a lot worse than what I hoped, but it's not bad
like the mud effects etc are cool, snek model is cool, environments look gamey though. apparently they're not revamping that much at all
its ment to be the next wing commander, not starlancer/freelancer
star citizen is successor to the latter
I disagree, I think it looks like a great remaster
it's marketed as remake
Yeah been reading about this. It's awful.
Talking to a friend in Argentia, they pay a 100% sales tax on digital goods there
anyway the levels were designed originally for top-down camera, even if Subsistence later had the 3rd person camera as an option. also no crouch-walking. if they don't change anything in the layouts or revamp some of the systems, it's gonna be a weird experience
meaning if it's just mgsv gameplay in mgs3 environments it's gonna be weird, there's so much potential to play around with the areas and make them feel familiar but different, but looks like they're not willing to expand on it
so in a way I'm overwhelmed and in another underwhelmed, so I guess I'm just whelmed
The lore of the game is so weird - Honestly turned me away from it entirely 😄
lol
For me not the lore but the performance
And oh, they released a fucking expansion pack in Early Access
That one for sure
Also their "default" setting for any graphics preset is 50% render res
Says a lot
Closer to like 500GB+ now
With all of the expansions? Probably.
yeah makes sense to set everything to 50% render res when you ship 32k textures for every pineapple
But that kind of makes sense, given how each one was basically a completely different reskin of the map and creatures.
from what i heard its just cause its uncompressed textures
i think in the beginning it was all compressed but they left it uncomprossed so weaker pcs can easily load textures without decompressing
not to mention they package their files into archives so everytime an archive needs updating it extracts it and repacks it
very healthy for SSDs
Game runs like ass no matter the PC, so yeah I never got into it
I remember trying to run it on an RX480 and getting... like 20FPS with extreme tweaking. And a friend with a 1080 still wasn't able to run it.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=468074101
2015 apparantly according to Steam 😄
Yes, when I went to play it I had a 1080 and couldn't keep 60FPS
Even at all low
And it looked like ass at low
I remember when even titans had issues
What turned me off it was how resocialisatie tedious it was
ark is rust but worse
Rust is ark but worse
You must have not been alive in 2015 when Ark was major leagues
i was 10
Rust had to abandon zombies for people to start taking that game seriously
i was playing lego hogwarts
Forget that originally rust was a zombie survival game lol
we dont talk bout thawt
Ark predates Rust, especially in its current form, by at least 5 years
At which point most of Arks hype died down
alan wake seems to be running well on pc after all
Alan wake 1? Yes
but only the first one?
no, 2
whats alan wake
A game about Alan who has just awoken from sleep
wait what's that first one lel
alen wake up

I didn't play the first one, but wasn't the whole thing about the first game was that Alan was genuinely sleeping lol
not like A. Wake is a pun or anything already
ehh no
alens a. wake
wait for the digital foundry vid, but really seems like the spec sheet was blown out of proportion
Wake 2 seems very paranormal though
First one was more hallucinations and shit and less paranormal from what I remember
the first one was like twin peaks the game, with some stephen king influence
lol no
Coke?
apparently here we go a bit more into the survival horror direction
idk might've been used while making the game
I know what King used while writing some of his novels
remedy is pretty solid honestly, I've only skipped quantum break since death rally
Replayed Alan Wake recently, still holds up
Soon 👀
oh yeahh

EGS Exclusive
Oh ffs
Download shit launcher pls
The Remaster is only there too
Played the OG too recently and the ''DLC''
huh I haven't played the remaster, what's worse about it?
but yeah epic is the publisher, what can you do
Weird new faces, poor performance, replacement of some old product jokes that were kinda fun

Was looking through the top rated custom skins for Mariokart 8 Deluxe....
Found nude mods for Daisy, Peach and Rosalina...
Game modding is a mistake
I wish I could say I'm surprised
Why, that's what game nodding is since the days of nuderaider
Holy hell
Epic Launcher has significantly improved performance on Linux since I was using it last time
I'm to spend close to 2k PLN on keebs and another 2k on Steam Deck for my brother
I don't have money for games
215 rubles will get me a third of a pizza
Those are sum expensive pizzas
Some 30PLN, ~€7

That's shit's expensive lol
Bruh I couldn’t even afford to be homeless in Poland xD
I can get a pizza rn for 10 zlotys
Cheapest Pizza here is a Pepperoni and that's priced at €10
That finnish tax though
we have an office in lublin, maybe I should move to the city
You poor peasants are overtaxed
it was cool there
My village!
I guess
Is that a word?
It now is
That doesn't work without sound
You know what does though?
No, tell me more please!
Yeah

We've been waiting for this one with eager anticipation and Remedy does not disappoint. Before embargo, only PS5 and PC rev...
Gameplay impressions... so I guess reviews or such coming October 30th
Wow, pretty.
Unreal engine 5 curse it seems
Just Ark things.
hmm maybe I'll just buy aw2 on ps5, I'm very likely to only bother lugging my pc to the tv room only once

could be missing LOD or something that isnt actually the cause still
It could just be a lod bug
There is no reason why teeth should have an LOD of that at all in a sim game.
This is CS2?
Should whole heads be like one object with LOD?
You can zoom in real close. So in a sense, yes.
"street view" as it were.
But that's still a far cry from "up close and having conversations, so you need to model individual teeth"
There is a rumor going around that they used AI generated models, so that may explain the cause.

Not even LTT is free from the Paradox marketing engine it seems 😄
Thank you Paradox for sponsoring today's video. To play Cities Skylines 2 today head on over to: https://play.citiesskylines.com/LinusTechTips
We bought a sketchy chiller off of AliExpress and decided to limit test it. Will condensation be the end of this build though?

TLDR; Skylines 2 "all cores" simulation on a sketchy chiller from Ali
Shame I haven't heard great reviews....
another victim for its own hype in 2023
Too early of a release.
In spite of the very rough release, I will concede that the performance patch that they deployed yesterday DID provide a real noticeable performance difference on my rig.
It still runs less than what one should expect with a 3080 and the 5600X.
No LTT. That's just how the game runs 😄
They do games now as well?
Not specifically, no.
ALAN WAKE
Alan (not) awake
its too late, we already have our own saunas
russia has entered the chat
basically what we needed to get past our feudship and unite towards the common ambition of keeping the north free from imperialists

honestly the swe-fin rivalry has always been just jesty big brother little brother fights, while the russia hate is something that has carried over generations because they're actually assholes
don't be that nation that's such a pain in everyones behinds that countries literally fighting each other stops what they're doing just to stare condescendingly at you
was a bit more on the serious side way back but yeah at this point all the nordics have kinda gotten their territorial aspirations out of their systems
well sure if we go back far enough in time
imagine pulling the "we used to own this piece of land 400+ years ago and we want it back again kthx" in this day and age
CopFlop
CopperFlopper
In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft video, we take a look at the brand new togglable redstone block that has been added in Snapshot 23W43A! This Minecraft 1.21 update snapshot also includes 50 new Minecraft blocks, and a new TICK ...
so it is not useless now?
never was
how is minecraft still rocking its playercount after all this time
does it still shift tons of new copies on the daily or
prob
Minecraft sales have officially topped 200 million, with 126 million people playing the game monthly.
well
seems they do well enough
those of us who got into it early on should realistically be more than sick to death of it by now
nope
both of which are not in the release version?
I spent so many damn hours in mc around 2011-2014
the announcement video showed everything we needed to know
now I can install and play for like 10 minutes and am bored
and decorative blocks
try mods

every year i have a severe MC binge
also microsoft stole my copy of mc
what
you have ignored lots of messages about migrating your acount
Microsoft accounts
didn't switch account
and had lots of time
in how long?
that one is on you buddy
well their site said it was still possible as soon as last year
the end was September 19, 2023, at 11:00 am EST/17:00 pm CEST
and I followed their guide how to
and got jack shit
and ms support was fucking useless
you had a good 1.5yrs
2 years even
well I spent a good few days trying to wrestle their moronic "customer support"
after which I said fuck it keep the damn game then you cretins
i mean
they had the game to begin with
it was just a transition of systems not company ownership
and their system was simply broken
idk worked fine for my accounts and the accounts of my gf
like I must have gone through every step exactly as described about 30 times, their service just flat out refused to follow through the last step
even for me, who breaks everything that MS made and I touch, worked just fine
the biggest hurdle i faced was my gf forgetting her ms password
it said it did its thing but it didn't
ALAN WAKE
ANA[mods advised me not to finish this joke]
Alan wakes too
interesting game
Finally home! 🥳
Epic servers are overloaded?
Don't know? if you're referring to the speed it's max i can get atm. which sucks , would buy higher speed if it was supported here
well it works a lot better than what was advertised, high preset 1440p fsr quality
What card do you have? 🕵️
Keep the piracy to... literally anywhere else but here.
Why you ruining edgelords their fun
Ya don't shoot yer cannons in da port mate
This damn PC started doing this shit yesterday
Is this fan bearings or something going off?
Tends to go away after like 10 mins
6700xt
Definitely sounds like a fan. Got fingers? Poke a fan at a time and see which one is at fault.
And it stopped lol
oh yeah and actually the average is probably a lot higher, I played around with native during testing
Seems to only do it at startup
Continues for like 5 - 10 mins and normalizes, quiet as an anechoic chamber
I have a similar things with a couple of my RGB fans. Just enough out of sync to cause a slight noise every so often when I turn it on.
So I just pop the case off and poke one fan at a time, so it stops - until I find the offender 😄
3-4 seconds during POST would be fine, not so much 5-10 minutes after
had one fan in front get noisy so I just shut it off
I'm not too sure which one it is but I think it's a case fan
🤢 Epic Launcher
I only installed that because of this game, no previous experiences with it
seems to do its job tho, didn't see anything weird
IDEK my login details anymore
I installed it yesterday #🎮│game message
Lasted 15 minutes or so
😅
How did you install it yesterday? 🤔
epic game launcher :E
idk seems it has a worse reputation than what it actually is, no need to even see the ui since I can start the game from a quick launch icon
WAIT WAIT WAIT IS THIS STEAMOS 3.5??????

Couldn't install the game yesterday at least? Maybe I missed something then 😅
Where did you get that information from
It literally says "Steam client" not "Steam OS"
yeah you're correct, they were just talking about the launcher
First impressions are important, especially when you enter with such... attitude like Epic did
Beta got 3.5.1 not that long ago, probably they're now adjusting Steam client stable to it
That was 2 days ago
Yeah I know but I checked and nothing
Oo, PlayStation 2 is 23 years old today
Threaten it with a hammer
Inarguably probably the best PlayStation console

So, apparently we are getting Dragon Quest XII
Trailer incoming... soon according to the series producer, Yosuke Saito
I should get around to playing the south park games
Sad, was somewhat interested
But I guess if Golem was any foreshadowing of things to come, this is proof
58/100
LoTR is in a limbo of bad adaptations
We haven't had anything good since, idk, Shadow of Mordor?
Some would say shadow of mordor wasn't good either, and we have to look all the way back into Lotro
Shadow of Mordor was good, not great, but good game nevertheless, same with Shadow of War
shadow of war had lootbox bs tho
hmm I liked playing SoM but SoW was ass and couldn't get into it at all
Sad that adaptations usually just suck and are cashgrabs
Licensing needs to be respected more
Would love to have some proper, good, established LoTR games in strategy, RPG, FPS, adventure formats
I played after they removed all this bs
Mods for other games are probably some of the best LoTR experiences right now lol
Other than LoTRO, that game is.. good
wait there was one game on ps2 that I liked
The amount of content is mind staggering in LOTRO.
That was the Samurai warrior adaptation.
Based on the events of the movies.
lul possible
Where you could do sick ass combos and try to get the highest kill score.
And upgrade gear.
it was probably the return of the king one I played
Lord of the rings GBA was my jam for a long time. Especially with Legolas. You could snipe enemies off the edge of the visible screen.
and I guess I played it on xbox actually, but anyway
Same game
yeah
It was a golden age of gaming potential.
Same period when Halo got released and Fable.
third person minecraft in LOTR
Yeah that was never a good idea.
I miss HCC
It's not a bad idea, Lord of the Rings mod for Minecraft bangs, you know
100% that's what the inspiration was
Minecraft is first person.
Ehh
The camera is super ackward and cramped in the mines.
Hybrid, let's say
It’s why you follow proper mine construction guidelines and laws when constructing mines in Minecraft.
1st person, how often do you use F5 camera to be honest
To prevent cave ins, gas explosions and unsafe working conditions.
Nobody cares about MSHA mate
Same shit as OSHA, nobody cares about it
I care tremendously
I like the looks of it too.
Ngl, I kinda want minecraft to actually feature some gravity mechanics
Shafts collapsing, etc
Oh there's a game for that.
There's sand and gravel
7 days to die?
@feral ferry when they introduce that and you ignore procedures. Then you complain you need to follow procedures and guidelines for safe mining conditions.

Vintage story
Right...
Doesn't look very alive
Devs are still around, community not so much
Still better than most forums I've used to frequent that are now dead, sadly
Rip newerth and necromanthus
I mean it's still in a really healthy spot
7 days to die? That game is fine lol
I wish it had more updates
Back when it was during its peak popularity years ago, the game was damn hard to run, laggy servers, etc
Over 10 years of Alpha
