Removing the GitHub page was seen as a method of trying to pull a trick on developers, as developers would be using GitHub a lot, and would see updates on the TOS the moment it happened, increasing the likelihood that developers would have seen any foul moves incoming. Although they didn't delete the TOS entirely they were still trying to hide the fact they were preparing some nasty surprises.

The issue right now is that AAA games are capital intensive, with rising interest and inflation it just becomes more expensive to make the same game.
Let alone meet the rising expectation / development cost.
It's not the CEO's and execs taking all the money it's that making a AAA game is just really expensive. and successes / failures need to even out in the positive.
