Get out
True!
Im calling wooting
no more evil numbers
you need to remove the swtiches too
Talking about boring i saw the galaxy buds 3 and holy shit its just... airpods with a case with a transparent lid
😅
Yeah lmao
transparent lid does cheapen it for sure but i think most people dont want their earbuds to stand out
more hz then vertical pixels goes crazy
I'm a classy bitch
Sorry
it's no insult or anything I just think a lot of people don't feel like they need them to stand out
XD
it's good that there's options for people that do
ALT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is the writing so bog
uhhhhhh.... wot
if u like it its fire
the font on the modifiers is a bit goofy though
no flame
personal preference!
only one is oled
I'm currently on team 27 inch 5k 240 Hz ||with subframe BFI|| RGB stripe oled waiting room
a man can dream
4k 240 Hz RGB stripe already announced. A 5k variant will surely be annouced within 3 years, maybe 2 or maybe even (
) 1
oh wait new ips panel
theyre all IPS
random
wouldnt 3d be kinda... buns
could be good
bring back the 3ds
but what if it was on a 27 monitor
cauz 32 inch is just better!
I can't fit a 32 inch monitor. My 27 inch monitor already collides with my speaker stands
i want both of mine to be the same size
and 2 32in just doesnt fit
fair
This image is somehow screaming at me
5k2k monitors when
theres ips that ZTT showed on a short but idk if theres oled yet
fake 5k2k monitors
That's what 5k2k refere to though
There is
i was thinking 5120x2880 and 2560x1440 dual modes
That's not 5k2k that's «real» 5k (16:9)
Would that just be called a 5k dual mode panel?
because it would lineup with 4k dual mode panels' naming convention
or maybe 5k2k and 5k2k ultrawide
5120x2880 is just called 5k
Mouse and mousepad mayhaps
Are you not a fan of logitech?
There's just some higher quality stuff in terms of mousepads like artisan
I own several of their mice, but you asked
Consider this a holiday friendly deletion
No offense but why are grown ups always so cheesy /corny in their reponses
No offense taken. It's probably for the same reason young bucks think posting porn in a public discord is cool or funny
joy in the heart
And then act a little offended and ask that someone doesnt like a whole brand, based on a response to a question ^^
In truth the setup is totally fine by the looks of it, time to enjoy. Just tried to give an answer to your question.
I spent 25 bucks on the logitech mousepad and its pretty decent. i dont condone spending 70-80 dollars on a mousepad
Panam is also valid, besides the obvious melons.
you don’t have to, artisan makes nice mousepads though, and you were asking
if you already enjoy the things in your setup i don’t think you need to look for what to upgrade
Yeah, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
I was thinking of the pc. My cable management throws the build off
You can get some aesthetic cable extensions and then hide the mess in the back!
Thats what most people do
Ahhh. Are strimers nice
They are, just be aware that you are adding another point of connection for possible issue for the aesthetic.
higher end mousepads have a place. in my experience they feel way better on skin than cheaper ones do
the hien be like sandpaper 🔥
I agree though, nicer stitching, nicer bases, more consistent surface, can last a bit longer
not just artisan though, plenty of mid range pads with great qualities too
i havent tried the hien yet. ive so far only bought the hayate otsu and raiden. both are really smooth to the skin
yeah hien is supposed to be very textured
nice grazing sensation on the mouse skates but it feels more abrasive on the skin
Been using the Key 83 Soft for a while now, very satisfied and it was a noticeable upgrade from regular textile pads.
Mmm, looks like wireless blessing 3
mmm, looks nice
you listen here young blud
preach father
waiting for some 34 inch oled display gen 4
you talking about this?? https://softwareoffer.intel.com/Promo/Holiday2025
yeah you can choose like bf6 and etc
mmm, I think Crinear Reference got delayed
It's almost 2026 and I never heard anything about it for a while.
Does anyone here use Linux and have a gaming mouse recommendation? I was gonna get the wlmouse haun but because it’s a got a mic that plans not happening
In a previous post we had an encounter with jitter in audio. The talk about jitter is hard to miss these days. There are plenty of products on the mar...
Fun to hear since most have never heard jitter (it's inaudible in most devices people hear)
Lmao my cats for freaked out
Cats are extra sensitive to jitter (I don't know if that's true)
huh ?
the huan dongle accepts voice commands
i guess just disable it
and it is not implemented yet so its gonna be a turn on and off stuff
the Huan is fine to use even with that as you can just turn it off
See personally I still just don’t trust it it’s a un need feature personally
if your phone is next to you is listening to you anyway
regardless of the brand
if u wanna be safe just live under a rock
even if it’s some shit you can turn off who asked for this feature 💀
they just wanna do something else
the mouse space is shit
I got some new palipads
I can't with the waifu packaging lmao
waow, I forgot to try the hexa/blue while I had the chance.
This should have been the packaging for these ngl
This looks way nicer
Nooooo
China iem waifus is a big thing
Trueeeee

I like it too
ok, ngl, the harman tuning of these is really really fun
I thought I would dislike it, but its actually really fun
Thats all the same waifu
They're very similar to Variations
Literally you get it
Difference is I bought the phone knowing that not everything needs mics
idk mouse space is shit
It really is it’s picking your poison
Linux support is awful which is annoying
does anyone know any good looking miku keycaps that have a normal shaped key (and preferably a somewhat reasonable price)
specifically miku design or just a colorscheme? all the miku caps I've seen that are cheap look like ass, and the gmk ones look great and are really expensive, and not sold anymore
I have some transluscent mint/teal color keycaps right now
Iirc the Moondrop VSDF target is very similar to the harman IE target but it has higher treble response than the Harman IE 2019 target.
they might sell some more of the gmk ones after they ship the preorders, but yeah they are really expensive
Also Moondrop's target is tuned based off the B&K HATS measurement rig rather than the IEC60318-4 ear simulator that the Harman 2019 target was optimized for.
most of the keyboard talk is in #🔧│keyboard_modding so asking there might do better
noted, ty
In that case the targets aren't fully comparable
I'd be surprised if it actually has more treble than Harman 2019 since when I EQed my Variations to reach that that was certainly at the limits of what I find tolerable in treble
Yeah, not sure if there is a measurement for the Blue 2 that was done on a B&K rig
i got reds
its like pokemon red and blue edition
Redpilled I see
I think of it as the red and blue pill lmao
No black pill unfortunately
Maybe later!
Ngl a dark sounding crinacle collab IEM would go so hard
Truthear x Crinacle Zero:Black
😂
Even more bass, even less mids, and even less treble
Skull candy levels of bass
Truthear x Crinacle: Void
lolz
Ayyyy same gang
niceeee
christmas edition
Truthear x Crinacle Zero:Blue 2
wassup!
aye!
Monitor arm came in. Keep in mind the desk is 70 inches long by 31 deep, just waiting on the mobo now
huh, a straight line, genuinely could also be my endgame
how does one judge their endgame by looking at a line
I like hd490 pro, it has a non peaky/straight line from 3khz to 8khz. This one also has a straight line from 3khz to 8khz.
And also looking at different measurement by different people to see how consistent it is.
Looks great
Hd490 pro vs my headset
Guys what is best mouse for valorant guys. I use claw grip and my hand is really big so it hard to choose good mouse
Viper V3 Pro
I agree, Viper is really good, I had the V1 it was amazing until the battery no longer hold charge...
Just buy a new one
Super easy to swap out
Guys
That's awful
My eq settings look completely insane. Idk how you'd use them without eq tbh
I certainly wouldn't touch it without EQ
Compared to my headset (I also EQ)
Eq vs no eq
Eq is basically mandatory lmao
I still find the 4k dip real unfortunate
Realistically tho how can you tell
It's not massive but I don't see why it wouldn't be audible. It's decently wide and dips down 5 dB at the lowest point
Dips like that make me avoid a product personally but I have high standards
Whats so important about a small dip at 4k
Well it extends from 3,5 kHz to almost 5 kHz. I wouldn't be happy with knowing I have that personally since I try to get the smoothest result possible with no dips or peaks in the EQ range
It's not going to ruin it at all. I just said I have high standards
There's also the comfort side, I tried hd600, hd800s, 990 pro, and 900 pro x. Each of them have some quirk that makes them annoying to use compared to hd490 pro.
It seems I've been lucky with buying headphones, I've rarely had ones that have been uncomfortable
I mean... when you experienced the pinnacle of headphone's comfort, can't really go down from there.
You never really know comfort until you experience something more comfortable
yesh
so that's why I use the money I brought there to get a dac instead. Prop going to try the headphone there again but that's like 6-8 months from now.
if the headphone is like wireless, it'll be fine. Mine is pure wired, so having a nice dac benefit me.
hmm, getting a dac could be a nice way then to up your setup
noice. I just do qx13 cause it's smol
Never seen that one before tbh
it's very nice. like only a slight bit weaker than k7 output power wise, but you can slap that bad boy to the back of your phone and bring it everywhere.
k11
Imagine dragging around a brick like that instead of just using a tiny dongle...
Is this the IV?
But then I need an adapter
Who is John? Great device by the way. One of the very best
You can't see him
Cena?

He’s the guy that runs JDS
Great guy
Starting now
Now it’s front and center hehe
That clear resin is ultra tuff wtf
you as well good sir
Merry Christmas
Happy Christmas
lmao, high gain on my dac makes me go 30% to 15% on my windows vol.
im going to need to configure it a bit
Do EQ, and try the Fletcher-Munson loudness curve equaliser as well as crossfeed
The loudness curve is a feature you never turn off
im going to probably hold off on EQ for now until I get comfy with it, but I'll check out the FM curve/crossfeed
What headphones do you use?
Xenns Top Pro IEMs
Oh you're using earbuds with it
lolz
for me I just stick windows at 100% and just use the pre-amp gain on my Element IV
because the element IV pre-amp can go all the way down to -127 dBFS
I turned on crossfeed on the core website, is there anything else you recommend changing from there?
also very nice, I got the 6.35mm output one with the normal metal knob
I could have gotten the 4.4mm one but I didnt because adapters are cheap LMAO
thats fair, I asked him if he could swap since I primarily use 4.4 and gotten quite used to that so I wanted to just use that going forward and he responded in 2 mins on a saturday afternoon
bro is built different
lol yeah
but hey, at least they drive my 600 ohm headphones without issue!
and they can drive IEMs with the gain almost all the way down LMAO
this thing got crazy rumble too
yeah this thing easily kicks the shit outta my ifi zen dac and its not particularly close
oh yeah, they breed new life into headphones because they have very good dynamic range and good frequency reproduction on busy tracks
a lot of cheaper DACs tend to struggle when there is a lot going on
the web software is also really great too!
yeah its very accessible off rip, bc of where my element is positioned now, i legit cant see anything on the bottom row so the web browser is very handy
granted where my zen dac was i wouldn't be able to read it either due to the angle
lolz
the oversampling feature of the ESS DAC in the Element IV is also really nice to have, you should try it!
I stick it to the Fast Linear filter and it works great
where do you access that, im getting lost 😭
iirc its in the device settings in their web software
oh so is that just going from the default max sample rate to the 384k one
yeah, when you do that it will start oversampling using the ESS DAC.
it might introduce distortion but generally I had no issues with ESS oversampling
Just got it now I just need to wait for the keyboard to arrive

i'll play around with it, ty for the rec
aye!
What is a good small mice for claw grip that is cheap and also is the Razer cobra good for it(wired)
Not aside from what I mentioned
Merry Christmas everyone
Happy Christmas
Thats nice
I want a new motherboard...
I'm just missing a cpu, aio, and a PSU then I can finally build my new PC, I'll probably order them later today
So you have some RAM
Nice
Wat components
I have a 9950x3d on the way as well. All of its going in the lian li o11 mini v2
Are the rest locked in aswell?
Oh yeah, only reason I didn't order the PSU and aio was because people needed ideas on what to get me for Christmas haha
So I'll order them later tonight if I don't get them when I see family later
Do you do workstation stuff?
Yep, only reason im doing the 9950 over the 9800
Not for the better binned cached die?
I also want a 5080
Well yeah that also lol
Cool
Figured I'd be better off spending another 200 and having the better of the 2 rather than settling for the 9800 lol
I'm the same mindset, especially due to how rarely i can build for myself.
Building next year (or rather when next gen of both components drop)
Yeah I have a i9 14th gen and a 4070 super build that's going to my little brother,
I'm afraid of what the prices will be when the next gen stuff drops
Thats why i started putting money aside the whole year, i think i will even extend my own deadline and target amount. Probably won't be enough with current.
that mobo has some OC potential! :3
get a liquid freezer 3 pro AIO and a Lian Li Edge PSU
Yessir that perchance may have been why I got it
But like rog strix 1200 watt PSU😈
Lian Li edge makes PSU wiring so much easier in dual chamber cases
also they can go up to 1300W
Damn really?
Hmm may give that a look
Wireless PSUs when
yeah, and they dont break the bank either
I'm not even sure what i will get yet, might just go to trusty Corsair or Seasonic, whatever good models they will have by then.
Yeah, the lian li o11 mini v2 is weird because it supports atx power supplies, but that case does not look like it should😭
its a dual chamber type case, thats why
Look at the pictures, the second chamber can't actually fit a PSU that big, so it has a cutout where its flared out lmao
I'm doing this: https://overclock3d.net/news/power_supply/all-power-no-fan-seasonic-is-building-a-1000w-passive-psu/
That looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen
Mini is mini for a reason, i'm probably building in the lancool 217, unless something else comes out after CES
Nice
Probably not
I'm mounting mine on the leg of my desk so overall should be pretty nice in the end
I just enjoy my Phanteks ReVolt Pro 800W
Naisu
With that 12 years of warranty
i just got my pulsar x2 crazylight
the mouse is fire
but the skates are kinda mid
when i move my mouse its rough
Damn, bro got ram in this day and age
what are some good skates i can use for my pulsar x2 crazylight medium
im looking for full length skates
i want something smooth
doesnt help that i have a rough mousepad
xraypad jades maybe
there’s plenty of high quality ptfe skates though
tiger ice maybe?
can you send me a link if u can
https://shop.x-raypad.com/product-category/products/x-ray-gaming-mouse-pads/mouse-feet/jade-skates/?orderby=popularity
https://esptiger.com/en-eu/collections/esptiger-ice-v2-mouse-skates
👍
These are my favorites

both?
I’ve just been using artisan p8 skates recently
What is a good fast control mouse pad
Artisan Zero (more control oriented)/Key83 (more balanced between control/speed)/Otsu (speedier balanced pad), could also try https://mousectrl.com/mousepad-finder
https://www.mchose.store/products/mchose-mix-87-hall-effect-magnetic-switch-gaming-keyboard knock yourself out
for the artisan should I get the zero soft for speed and control or the mid
What is the best artisan mousepad to get
also I did the website it’s recommended to use Matrova Vein
I'd probably go mid, but soft would be good if you want some more control ontop
I've liked Key83 probably the most from what ive tried so far
hmmm do you think the matrova vein is any good?
The 5 ohm impedance adapter on the Zero Blue 2s are pretty funny, it works, maybe a little too well LMAO
ducky i need an English translation for someone who doesn’t understand what a 5 ohm impedence adapter is

basically, it increases the bass response of the subwoofer driver in the Blue 2 and decreases the response of the mids/treble driver of the IEM.
iirc it's like a +5 db boost to the sub bass and mid bass of the Blue 2 with the 5 ohm impedance adapter
tldr, adapter adds bass to that IEM way it is designed.
@abstract warren endgame headphones
😞
World’s first headphones built for Rock & Metal, mimicking the artists' immersive live sound
$500 for an ass tuning
How live music sounds is so incredibly dependent on where you happen to be located during it. I remember seeing Slayer live in 2019 but since I didn't really care for Slayer I was all the way to the left in the back and the sound was god awful and there was a horrific resonance in the treble that felt 30 dB louder than everything else and made my ears hurt even with protection
Yeah but uhm... It's optimised for rock and metal!!!
Marketing is also doing driver nonsense
8 drivers with patented speaker placement to hear details you’ve never heard before
More drivers = more detail
Multiple drivers is never pulled off well nor is there any good reason I know of to even try

Rob Watts hearing acuity
What you're looking at for reference: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-shoutometer.2555/
We've all seen the Sound Pressure Level decibel reference tables where you have "quiet room", "chainsaw", "jet engine" and so on.
While that is handy for estimating increased loudness in decibles, it didn't help me when thinking about the measurement levels obtained around here when measuring...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbOziOlBiMk your favorite Viper imitator has thrown their hat in the IEM ring. Why WL didn't give it a cool name like Punch Audio Martilo, I'll neva know
Are you still gaming on heavy, sweaty headsets? It’s time to upgrade. The WLMOUSE HUAN IEM is engineered to be a "physical cheat code" for tactical shooters.
Why it’s a game-changer:
9-Driver Acoustic Matrix: 1 Dynamic Driver + 8 Balanced Armatures for unparalleled directional audio and clarity.
Built-in DAC: The Type-C DSP cable supports...
multiple products with the same name 🥀
I hope this is JM1 or harman tuned at least.
Looks like something Juzear would make
Yet another earbud company
No measurments provided, no proof of good performance. Lame!
Soon, i mean it gotta be good, it has 9 driver!
1 dd + 8 ba
True!
That's stupid actually
9 drivers is so silly
Well I suppose it's not stupid for sales since people think more drivers are better somehow
gotta have that kz iem with 12 bas in each 🧠
Looks like harman 2019
do iems these days have web drivers?
It's very smoothed and I have no idea what rig they are using
No, but some moondrop iem have an android software iirc
these do
Seems like it might be close
They're calling the sound signature a balanced W-shape so a lot of air maybe
Dat price. Do hoping it at least sounds as good as kiwi ears astral cause that almost have the same config, just 1 less ba (1dd 7ba)
It will sound as good as the Astral if they have the exact same frequency response on your ears
Which is technically possible with EQ but requires a huge amount of bands and tiny microphones to place inside your ears
Need help from audio nerds
What would be a somewhat nice but preferably very cheap amp to connect 2x80W/8Ω speakers to 3.5/RCA
How cheap exactly
My parents want to connect speakers to TV, so I guess as cheap as possible so it "just works"
Are the speakers passive?
Passive, some very old ones
How loud do they play? Loud music? Do they sit far from the speakers?
Betcha it won't be music, just movies and TV shows
But room is like 6m across, so I'd say 4m?
Something like a fosi V3
No, but some audio source gear does like JDS Labs Element IV
IEMs without like a DSP cable are purely analog and have no smarts in them.
Agree with this choice. Can't think of anything else. Fosi is a mostly good brand
I remember I had the Quarks DSP and they sounded good when working which was sadly not most of the time. The dac or something was faulty and it had really noticeable phase issues that sounded like the music was being pitch shifted when listening to it. Really weird and unfortunate
I assume the DSP earbuds released by Moondrop after that has been free of it
ooof
yeah, like the Chu 2 DSP i've heard is really good
vtuber audio reviewer talks about the moondrop quarks DSP
Links for my measurement graphs:
IEMS: https://suporsalad.squig.link/
Headphones: https://suporsalad.squig.link/headphones/
I really liked how it sounds too
They were very comfortable since they're small
tbh I dont mind large IEMs, like the Blue 2
as long as the shape is good
they'd wanna sound half decent for the price, but it's a no for me; they don't even fit in this persons ear correctly
stuffing too many drivers in there 😂
Sigh
The chad (but broken) small and light Quarks DSP that realises doing multiple drivers is clunky and not beneficial compared to just finetuning using DSP
that is chad but stuff that only uses the tip for the fit never worked well for me 🥹
OMG LMAO
2DD + 6BA + 4 Planar tweeters anyone?

add est and a bone conduction driver too
All that shit added and yet they don't bother adding actually good stuff like ANC. Wasted space
DSP on the iem
My first anc headphones were the Bose qc15 and god did it suck when they ran out of battery
you could still listen but it would have this horrible popping sound regularly
wired anc with a AAA
If I had the ability and budget to make a high quality pair of earbuds I would give it ANC and DSP for tuning
I think I had the QC25 which also had batteries
Then you'd just get AirPods Pro 3

But they'd have better tuning + easy to EQ either with presets or PEQ + they'd be wired (if I'm making them for PC users at least)
And yes the ANC would be something you can toggle
Fair fair
Transparency mode too? :>
It better plug in with USB-C
I guess. That's just the reverse of ANC so sounds relatively easy to do if you already have ANC
Yes of course
And there'd be two cables in the box. One is 1,5 meter the other 3,0 meter
Oh yeah, to reach the back of the PC
That would be so nice
1,2 - 1,5 is what I prefer if I'm plugging into something on my desk
it’s nice to turn off the anc on airpods when it’s a bit windy
even if they usually handle it quite well
only have the app2 though
When I got the HD800S only a 3 meter cable followed with it which was far too long for that use and I had to roll the cable around a bit so I wouldn't roll over it with my chair
My srh440 had that coiled telephone cable and it was so annoying
I wish my gaming headset had ANC
I guess there's always something to upgrade to
Oh and my earbuds would not have microphonic cables
That coil never extended anyway, it was way too stiff to extend, unless you put something heavy on the cable it would just unplug or move my pc
or take the headphones off my head
Boomer mouse obtained
niceeeee
I have a mx anywhere 3s and I actually love it lol
It's quite heavy though 🙁
fine for a work mouse
horrible for work mouse 🙁
or well at least if you have to move it
if it's just a decoration on the desk it's cool
@wet coral aight so just got the viper and i got a question, does your m1 and m2 sound different?
my m1 has a way deeper click than my m2
I have an master mx3, and I really wish it was lighter. Not gamer mouse light, just lighter
yeah would be way nicer to use even if it was like 2/3 of the weight
Yup
don't care that much about weight for a general usage/office mouse
plus the battery lasts 70+ days on a single charge
I used an older mx mouse and the weight was pretty straining and uncomfortable, but you might use it less than I had to
for battery I don’t care much about that, I’d just put it on charge overnight
I used my mx master 3s all day at work for the past 3 years I think I'll be alright
plus the one button switching between devices is pretty nifty not to mention the erognomics and macro support
and its got the gta weapon wheel now
well yeah I don’t doubt that, you bought it for yourself and I assume you don’t hate yourself
It being horrible is just my opinion, if you like it all power to you
mice are super subjective I hate some mice that many people love also
Rest of the parts ordered, should be here Monday, am I slightly poor now? Perchance.
never noticed and im 20 hours away from home
stay safe little bro, weather be wilding rn

I like the color
Is it going for the bubbly 2000s look?
unsure, but the box itself is bright blue almost like you.
Hmm, there's a possibilty I might be able to go to Sinagpore after May
Which is right within my plan of trying out IEM at hangout and figuring out what's my end game is.
Where are my 4 planar tweeters though!?!?
Or my electrostatic dynamic driver >:(
A single driver is all you need
But I want my sub bass and treble extensions!!!! >:(
it's not released yet
true lmao
then what if we run a whole IEM off one BA
LMAO
Features: - > Self-Developed Wide-Frequency Response Balanced Armature Driver Unit. >Innovative SE-Math Electro-Acoustic Intermodulation Technology. >Nautilus Acoustic Maze Technology. >Powerful & Massive Sound Signature. >High-Purity Hybrid Stock Cable >Easy to Drive. Technical Information: - &
oooooo
Single-driver earbuds according to Ducky
crunch stand desk
funny you say that, because peoples HRTF varies because of physical features and whatnot
so headphones or IEMs that sound good to one person may sound horrible to another
it's in stock on my local store, I might grab it cause of that flat treble lmao
but I want the treble extension to go all the way to 20kHz >:(
not fall off a cliff at 20kHz >:(
Can you even hear at 20khz?
I can surprisingly
It's why I cover my ears sometimes when other people don't
Most young people can if you turn the volume up high enough
I get to almost 18 kHz in regular comfortably loud tests
There's not actually much of music at these frequencies so I don't feel bad about the loss
any good IEMs for gaming and music?
Hundreds
One that is good for music will also automatically good for gaming
Good imaging requires a good balanced frequency response
you should attach a budget to this question
But if by good for gaming you mean accentuates footsteps then that will mean bad for music. So what you should do is find something that has a good frequency response you like and then make an EQ preset for when you want to destroy the sound to hear footsteps more clearly
budget?
$400 USD
My bad
I think you'd be pretty satisfied with the kiwi ears astrals, but make sure to buy from a seller that has a good return policy in case they dont fit your ears well
alright thanks
as for the leftover money spend it on a nice source like a FiiO KA17 or a Protocol Max
I recommend to go for Protocol Max, I don't think KA17 is worth the extra if you just want a nice dac.
I'd be able to plug these into my pc?
most source gear is USB yeah
you can even plug it into your phone if you really wanted to
It'll however drain your phone battery
ahh I see
protocol max has an eco mode at least
so it wont destroy your battery
I guess, with ka17 you have to get a separate powerbank/its powerbank that you connect to the side usb to not make it not drain your battery that much.
@round lagoon after spending some time with the Element IV, my review is that this thing is cracked
IKRRR!!
I love my Element IV
damn, eco mode really do be kneecapping the protocol max output until it's just a little nubbin.
its more than enough for IEMs though
but headphones it will be a bit quiet
also it does what it supposed to do, it drains your battery way less
I guess that make sense.
I ended up taking crossfeed off to see how it sounded and I feel like I have my own Imax theater
yeah its very nice
Its quite literally the DAC equivalent of a Ferrari imo
nah, its like a nice Mercedes in the audio world
I didnt think it would be a super big diff but it does lap my ifi for just being in the next price category up
ferrari burns itself down
its very nice but also really good to daily drive.
if you could feel how warm my DAC is thats pretty real
my qx13 do gets pretty hot lmao
It most likely sounds identical to whatever you had before aside from when you're using sound-altering features of it
I prefer crossfeed for older stereo mixes where the instruments are hard-panned left or right

that the lian li hydroshift ii lcd c?
sounded nice but ended up having to turn it up -5 DB to get it similar, and without it ended up popping more ingame and on spotify for me
Yep, wanted to hide the tube a bit
Used a kraken elite 360 in the past and I absolutely loved it except for the fact that the pipe was so long
Interesting how well the Soundguys preference curve for in-ears performed despite not being based on listening and research. It's just an averaging of many headphone measurements

Should I get the 80 or 60he v2 and is there a v2 of the 80 coming some point in future?
- Whichever size you prefer. Performance is the same.
- No plans for a v2. The 60HEv2 was made to match the 80HE.
oh ok, im still somehow very undecisive on what size i want lol, regardless, thank you for the insight
Play a game - Try and notice how often you use your F keys, and anything like numpad and arrow keys. If the answer is A LOT, and not something you think is fun by needing to hold a key to do, then the 80HE is your best bet.
If small size is key for a backpack, it's hard to beat the slimmer 60.
i picked up one of these without the fans too
I have fans to replace it lol, only reason I didn't get the no fan version was because it was going to take like a solid month
Zinc 80he is not great for a backpack BTW. It's HEAVY

After reviewing more than forty new IEMs in 2025, and listening to even way more at various audio shows across the country, I've picked what I think are the five best IEMs of the year. And one overall Yearphone of the Ear.

aaah lol amazon prime saved me
should be here monday
Nice, rest of my stuff comes Monday as well

this gonna be a good monitor upgrade from IPS 👀
is this even out in the US? I just got the MO27Q28G instead from gigabyte since it was actually out here
i wanted to get this originally but its been weeks since they said "yeah it'll be out soon"
DELL Alienware AW2725DF 26.7" QD-OLED 2560x1440px 360Hz 0.03 ms [GTG] check this
im from the EU and i can pre-order it
thats pretty expensive xd
unless you live in a room with harsh lighting
it's why I opted for a semi-gloss OLED
the glare on glossy OLED in my room is not great lmao
if you remove the f at the end it's a slightly newer panel that's only 280Hz aswell, might be a good deal
I got the aw2725df for cheaper than aw2725d though, but that was on sale close to black friday
was cheaper than any 240Hz is here lol
True black glossy is a bit different
It’s glossy but doesn’t reflect as bad as previous glossy, which is why I think it’s the best coating right now
Nah what I tried was a current gen glossy QD-OLED
Black levels raised a lot during certain times of the day and the glare was really bad
Natural sunlight is really hard for any display to combat really
I just found that semi-glossy WOLED to be best when it comes to combatting glare in my specific space
When it comes to glossy coatings though Apple is still the best
I know the EU and other countries have had it but it still doesn't exist over here
hence why i went with the gigabyte
Yeah qd oled has issues with direct sunlight
RGB stribe waiting room
I wish I could justify replacing my QDOLED w/ that nice looking true black WOLED
they seem quite nice
Wait a few more years and there might be something that feels substantial enough to upgrade to
Like 5k 240 Hz (1440p 480 Hz dual mode) RGB stripe monitors
never understood what soo good about dual mode monitors
you'd need a competent GPU to run that though
allows you to play nice games that prioritize visuals and then also be able to play super sweaty esports titles
5k or 1440p 480 Hz? Well both I suppose. 5k would be most versatile
the 5k mode
i don't have a competent GPU to play at 4k
so i don't see a reason
yeah makes sense
you need a pretty high end gpu to be able to take full advantage of high res monitors
sure i can play at LOW but i could just switch to 1440p and have a pretty nice experience
5k desktop can be run with «any» GPU
5k integer scales with 1440p so can run anything you like in native 1440p if the game doesn't run well enough for you
Most modern hard to run games support upscaling. Can also just upscale from 1440p or any other resolution to 5k
I mostly play older games also
usually I avoid upscaling when possible
because DLAA spoiled me
LMAO
it just looks so good
1440p upscaled to 5k would definitely look very good at least
Since the base resolution isn't poor
yeah, but man, 4K DLAA with cinematic settings in Arc Raiders is something else
That's also another reason why I want 8k
please dont spoil yourself with high fidelity visuals, it will make everything else look really disappointing LMAO
At an 8k monitor, DLSS performance will render natively at 4k and upscale to 8k
asus makes an 8K monitor
its mini LED too
so it can display HDR content really nicely
only problem is that it costs 8800 usd
not super insane considering that BenQ makes more expensive light bars
I'll wait for oled or better
My next monitor will be 5k, then 8k
And they all have to be oled or better tech
(So I'm not in a hurry to upgrade)
Did you ever get your maxes soria?
Yes!
They saved my life today on the awful 10 hour bus ride
Glad to hear you’re enjoying them!
They don't sound amazing. There is definitely less upper mids and treble than I'd prefer. But they don't sound too unbalanced
Darn, well at least they’re not a total whiff
cant you adjust that in your settings
pretty!
ducky
you should get small duck stickers and put one on each side

Funny you say that
These are rather big though lmao
those are rather big yeah
I'm not a popfur I swear!

Do you custom make these stickers lmaooo
Does the metal case in comparison to the plastic case change the feeling and sound profile of the 80he
?
Yes.
A bit but I don't have an iPhone yet
To a great extent?

Nah, a friend of mine has a vinyl printer and cutter that makes them for me!!!
They even have a matte finish on them so they're really nice!
And they're UV resistant and weather resistant.
I think he's wearing QuietComfort Ultra in the thumbnail. That's the last ANC pair I had
Why does he wear a cap indoors?
i dunno
I put a sticker on my phone case and it started falling apart really quickly
Gotta get a clear case or something if I wanna use one 🚬
some people are insecure about their hair or prefer how they look covering up their head 👴
I assume he's very balding or has no hair at all
Ngl, the sticker was probably just really shitty
Being bald is technically optimal for headphone listening
Or just not having hair around your ears at least
I feel like just rubbing up against the pocket will probably mess up any sticker after a while
Hopefully by the time I got my true end game, I'll be balding, cause then I be rich enough not to care
But might have been the case that it was just poor quality
starting to delaminate at the top
and the bottom too
Since you only seem to use earbuds it won't matter if you have hair or not
Though with longer hair it's annoying have to clear it from your ears so that hair doesn't enter your ear canal that you have to pull out when inserting them
I use hd490 pro
hate wearing headphones when my hair has grown a bit since it stays wet forever
Oh right. I forgot you have that
It's especially awful with planar magnetic headphones
Damp hair causes them to make crinkle noises
Just another reason to avoid that tech imo
yeah I noticed
I often just wait for my hair to dry before wearing any headphone
I just cut my hair
Good stickers shouldn't delaminate over time
since I have a fan constantly blowing all the time, it doesn't take long
Another W for loudspeakers 😎
Oh yeah, planars hate moisture
Any condensation buildup on the driver will ruin their sound
Dynamic driver can handle moisture, up to a certain point
someday I'll also get a speaker, something to use interim when my hair is wet
I never noticed it change the sound it just got the very annoying crinkle sounds
Had to basically keep the Maxwell away from me for 30 minutes after showering
lol, lmao even.
Listening in the shower
This is what happens when you wear headphones for 10 hours
Dynamic driver W
(best drivers)
frfr
This is more of a closed back thing
I did actually wear my Max to the shower today
All my openbacks had the same issue
I get the same on my sundaras
Open back planars?
Surprising because the sound is still fine, the ANC worked without any issues, and after letting them dry they still sound the same. LOL
I have never had this issue
Yes
In 40 degree weather?
I wore my Max for 10 hours yesterday and there was 0 condensation or sweat
In an airplane
I honestly didn't notice it at all until I got home

Were your ears really really sweaty?
And they became that wet? Wtf
lol yeah
I didn't know you have the Max too
They're my favorite headphones for traveling
sucks to suck
I have another set of the same stickers
Too bad I put it on my blue case since that was my favorite color of the two I got
Maybe I should just use it till it gets totally fucked and then remove it
This but unironically
- lightweight and compact
- doesn't require elaborate gear like electrostatics
- smoother frequency response than planar magnetics
I look at audeze, lift it a little and say 'fuck no'.
Oh trust me you want it even less when you listen to them
At least for the majority of their headphones
sad, guess there's nothing like 490 pro
Out of these headphones (didn't listen to every single one) which do you think I liked the most and least?
That was 2 almost 3 years ago so I don't fully remember but here is the ranking I made that day, best to worst:
- ||Hifiman Ananda Nano. $900||
- ||Hifiman Ananda. $1 000||
- ||Focal Clear MG. $1 600||
- ||Meze 109 Pro. $1 050||
- ||Meze Empyrean. $3 900||
- ||Abyss Diana TC. $5 000||
- ||Hifiman HE1000se. $3 300||
Most : prob Meze 99
Least : The brighest of hifiman
You got one right
yeah at least
You should try HE1 someday
They sound heavenly
I think HE1 were the only headphones that ever made me cry. It almost sounds too real
I know I would like it but not more than my current EQed headset
Nah, HE1 is something else
Those are like the only headphones where pianos sounded the most correct to me
I don't see why it would be
Linus cried listening to the terrible Abyss 1266
lmao
treble doesn't look too straight for my taste
I think the emotional response is not because of some magic in the headphone but because of the luxurious experience and expectations
I'd like the treble a lot
But not the Hifiman dip in the midrange
there's a chance I might like it if the dip at 8k doesn't bother me too much
Strange, to me the treble sounded fine, although that just might be my ears being different than the measurement rig
Our HRTFs being different and whatnot and how graphs are kind of a lie etc.
with freshpads, it actually closer to 490 tuning. Like 5db difference between 3k to 8k. Which me likeky
lmao, that sharpness
Yes it's bad. Unusable headphone imo
Damn, it's like they're taking 30 band eq and badly trying to match a straight line into HE 1
Susvara is full of resonances. Very bad imo
Not sure about the audibility of them exactly but it looks very bad
holy fuck, now that I switch between hd490 and he-1 mearsurement (differnet gear and peeps but still), it kinda looks similar.
I'll die listening to that
oh jesus its the famed amir vs susvara thing
Oh nah wtaf
It almost looks like some screw came loose on the headphones or something
Was this observed across multiple units?
susvara might be worse than he400se wow...
Yes
Their audio engineers were smoking something that day idk LMAO
Or their QC is so bad that there is a loose component in every single unit they've put out to retail.
hifiman qc is so bad, it's like they're from temu
LMAO
that's why i never recommend hifiman stuff tbh
Bro is trippin
I mean, there's a chance their factory is not too far from Temu's (both from China)
Nonzero chance that they manufacture in the same factory town
Hifiman is from Tianjin, not Shanghai* like most of other electronics manufacturers (and Temu)
isn't tianjin where that big explosion happened?
thank god this is written and not spoken
maybe that's what happened to the susvara
that 114dbspl really hits hard
that's the explosion
all the way back in 2015 yeah lmao
the he1000 became the susvara and the he1000 was made in 2015
i think it lines up!
lolz
It is bad yes
Their headphones feel low quality build and accessory wise
I think Susvara was popular partially because the treble isn't super sharp like the other ones and of course looks/price/renown
But it's not a great headphone imo
didn't they make the edition xv which does that too though
And Arya Unveiled
Susvara is obsolete now
Isn't the edition xs more a Amanda stealth (after it's silent revisions) with a different headband?
(thought about buying an Amanda for a while but decided my he400se with a different headband would do, and it does for me)
Hifiman does do nice and deep earcups at least.
is meze any good?
Most aren't imo
99 sounds very unnatural
Liric doesn't sound good either
Empyrean sounds like a more bloated Airpods Max
aww seemed like a good option since they have a boom mic kit
If I could buy a Meze headphone I'd get the Empyrean and EQ it
fellas is it homo to use a logitech headset
😭
I'm trying to figure out how to add a mic arm to my setup, but the damn ultrawide takes up almost the whole desk
I use one (Astro A50)
Take Photo of your setup?
I'll get a better picture when I'm back home, that's just what I had on my phone lol
Low profile mic arm
Below monitor or on left side of desk or right side of desk
@silver topaz so yeah low profile mic arm is only way for your setup without looking silly
TECHNICLY
You Could mount normal boom arm upside down on to the shelf so your mic would be from top
show me the Labubu that's attached to your monitor arm
I'am not mentally ill

I would not trust that shelf with my life, it's screwed into one stud😭
Yeah that's what I was thinking. At first I thought maybe I could shift the monitor over to the right to give it more room but then it just looks awkward lol
What mic do you have?
I have not got one yet, I was thinking of just doing a rode podmic and running the xlr into my stream deck+
Why you wont get just full elgato set?
Elgato dx is quite good
Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews with the dx and I figured honestly it doesn't hurt to spend a bit extra to be on the safe side
Actually I'm going entirely off of reddit comments and YouTube videos when choosing this, so I'll look into the elgato a bit more
either corner might work, and then add a few buildings outside to block the sun; for that broody mood as you sharpen your blade
*not mine
I think I have the elgato dx(miku edition) no one’s complained so far and it seems to sound pretty good
I have a steel series nova pro and let me tell you, people complain lmaoo😭
😬
Apparently the xlr adapter for the stream deck is out of stock, so I'll have to put this part on hold lol
based IEM user
people were complimenting me on how wonderful i sound when i was using my vr headset as a mic though, no ones complimented this one so far...
That's funny lol
they're the worst, too afraid of head dent and ruffled hair from wearing headphones
lol whats wrong with IEMs?
nice wallpaper
I have that pad
i'm kidding, I prefer iems, at least for gaming anyways
real
what is a good desk top stand to put on top of a llano v12
I want like an high adjustable one
Well DX is basicly shure sm7b but for 100€
And all reviews on youtube i saw said DX is great
Except one where guy was glazing blue snowball mic
Dx looks beautiful at least
Someone was flaming me for it being square though
Interesting.....
lmao why is it square

fair
Best mic shape
best mic shape.
actually the end could be a LITTLE more round

Maybe but it does the job
WELL my papers say i'am only disabled phisicly
Square mic is best shape
when are we getting a pyramid mic

Well pyramid mic would be hard to fit capsule and make it work
just make the pyramid bigger
You cant beat physics
I think I could
I don’t want to

I think he beat physics
Is it real or ai
thats a weapon!
i want this 👀

The only problem with replacing front is that you have to basically disassemble the whole Deck and glue display to new case
Bad design bad 😄
Still prefer that over swapping shell on DS/3DS
That's the battlefield where little girls become real men
Aligning the screen with the frame properly could be quite difficult otherwise
I mean not being able to take it apart without breaking shit.
Hum... Go for 1440p or 4K?

So 4K OLED 240Hz+ then
I guess with DP 2.1 since HDMI blocked their 2.1 driver on Linux
AW3225QF looks cool
But glossy finish
So S32DG80 it is then
No DP 2.1
PG27UCDM?
Is glossy, and I usually play in a well-lit room
But I guess you can't have everything
Thinking of getting a second monitor to pair with my 1440p oled. Its called the msi e16m, it'll be 27in 4k ips mini led 180hz with a dual mode to 1080p 320hz
Dosplayport

Nice
the higher the dpi, the less it makes a difference you're not playing games rendered on native res
Games I play my PC won't have any issues rendering in native res
then 4k any day
There's little reason not to go 4k over 1440p now
i need to expand my knowledge on iems

you can try going to an iem store and demo moondrop harmon or Truthear Nova
it's kinda close enough treble level wise
Iem store
I bet there are only 1 or 2 countries in the world that has that and they are all located in southeastern Asia
I mean, my capital has like 2 of the store where you can demo em
In Singapore there's obv hangout, but idk about hongkong
Do you clean them after trying them
no
What about AW3225QF? erting say with DSC it can handle 4k240@10bit
there was a small stall that had iem demos available but it was all from one brand i already forgot what it is
I think it's a genetics thing then why iem stores are found there but not here
Since people here have wet nasty earwax
You'd have to wipe the earbuds every single time you use them
That's why you're not allowed to try them on here and for example cannot return them after opening them
Sure if you want it
There's the pg32ucdm
Personally I'd wait for RGB stripe oled which has been confirmed for 2026, hopefully early
ohh, that make sense, I never had a problem with earwax personally. Even my most used IEM don't have much or any interms of earwax

I usually had to wipe my earbuds after every single use
That's even despite cleaning my ears when I shower daily
It sucks a lot and makes it cumbersome
one thing though, one of the store do put the used earbuds on a separate casing. Prop to clean afterward.
I mean I will be buying it closer to summer, so potato potato
No choice but to wait then!

Dell support for their gaming products is ass
I have AW2723DF, I like it
WOLED >
woled < QD < RGB stripe
not the other way around?
Naaah not to me
so WOLED be best

just ice v2
