For me its not useful I only play FPS games and the only two keys I touch on that line is left Alt for crouch and space bar for ping so I gone with the ansi layout.

How its done on a technical level its quite simple. USB polling limits are not a hardware limitation its a driver limitation as keyboard makers rely on windows usb HID drivers which may be limited. Mchose gets around this by having custom firmware and a custom driver you also install that basically tells windows Yes im a keyboard but im using my own driver. Thats when their 16k driver kicks in, its also using a usb 3.0 cable and needs a 3.0 usb port.

just for 16k polling when 8k already gets you to absurdly low sub fraction of an MS latency

I like the 60 v2, but I think I'm going to mainly use it for gaming. I think I prefer the 80HE for general use and typing. I'm having a hard time getting used to pressing the function key to use arrow keys, which I use a lot.

That size though, it's so nice having the small form factor.

Its a stupid nit pick, but I want to use a wrist rest, and the only one I have is for the 80HE. The 60HE wrist rests are out of stock until May. And it looks dumb putting the 80HE wrist rest in front of the 60HE.

so after some testing i can say, you should not use your 60he v1 cable of the v2, unfortunatly the v1 is a usb 2.0 cable that doesn't support 8k hz

I am not sure what this KB inspector is you're referring to. But the cables are identical.

It's just copper wires and insulation. There is no such thing as an "8k" cable. There is a "cable made well enough to not have signal loss" and "this cable is damaged"

Are you sure there wasn’t an issue in the test? There’s a lot of things that can go wrong or be set wrong in keyboard inspector

Also keyboard inspector is made by wooting employee as an interesting fact. Most of the time when we see weird results it’s some setting or something not being done right in the test (although I’m sure bad cables do happen from time to time)

Fun fact, I'm using the Wooting cable that came with my Black Zinc 80HE as my carplay cable. It's better quality than other data cables I've tried and matches my car's interior well.

I mean you can put any old thing in front of the case. The appeal of the 60HE one is that it comes with a piece that holds the wrist rest to the case assuming you're using the Wooting case.

I'm sure a 60% or 65% generic wrist rest would work assuming the back height of the wrist rest lines up with the front height of the case below the keys.

I'm willing to wait for the actual Wooting one though.

I think in the newest versions of Wootility they have a preset for doing that
I thought I’d be annoyed by the lack of dedicated arrow keys at work
Turns out, I don’t actually end up using press+hold on “arrow” keys due to faster OS/kb shortcuts
I’d have to press+hold on them (shift fn ctrl menu) for normal functionality anyway so 🤷‍♀️
Now I use my 60HE v2 at work constantly

I love my 80HE and use it fairly often for variety, but the split spacebar on my 60HE v2 is the real MVP for work

the 60hev2 wrist rest smells AWFUL (bad chemical/paint smell). Didn't notice it on my first batch that I received, and it doesn't have that smell currently (maybe it aired out naturally, not sure). But when I ordered a second, it smells real bad. Airing it out at the windowsill reduced the smell, but it's still there. Gonna give it a couple more days maybe out there.

Maybe it was sealed shortly after if was molded. Didn't have a chance to off gas before it was sealed up.

With my work, sometimes even with expensive Italian leather, it will have a chemical smell when we open the bags.

Hey guys, I'm new here. This arrived in the mail today and it's so nice!

Well, im little annoyed. My order was stolen or delivered to wrong house. I understand that half of support is off, but having to wait a 1+ month to just get a reply and then for you guys to contact the delivery service to start an investigation which can take even longer. (And let's be honest, the "investigation" is if the driver provided a photo of the package near the door. Sadly no signature was needed and delivery person didnt knock/ring the bell while I was gone at work as others were in the house.

I really don't want to charge back with my bank, but this doesnt feel very good... I know it not wooting fault that it was not delivered to me, but not my fault either... People who steal suck...

Sorry to hear that happened. I would highly recommend not going the chargeback option though, as that isn’t quite what it’s intended for and can have a lot of negative effects for everyone involved

A valid charge back is for a fraudulent purchase, purchase that was not received or a item that was sent back from buyer to the seller and received no refund. Typically you want to reach out to the merchant before starting one. But if they deny or you receive no communication on the mater for a long time, it is what it is.

It’s kind of asking for a pillow recommendation. Without knowing what bed you’re sleeping in.
We all have different preferences. If you got a proper desk / chair setup. You won’t be needing one☝️.
The armrest will act as the support. (It is common to use a huge mousepad that covers the entire keyboard and mouse area which will give a softer feel instead of the hard desk surface)

I personally find the. Wooting wrist rests the best. Because of the height/ angle 📐. The silicone is easy to clean and doesn’t deform during extended use.

They are standard keycaps. You just need a set that has additional ANSI left shift and... uhh... what's the other one.

So an ANSI Left Shift, another modifier key (Alt, CTRL etc...) and a a second Backspace key.

quick question, do i need to match the travel distance of switches and stabs? lets say im getting some new switches with 3.2mm travel, and if i still use stabs with full travel distance, doesn't that make the stabs "not" able to bottom out? since the switches bottom out first at 3.2mm already? should i look into stabs with shorter travel

Using short travel switches with non long pole stabilizers can cause keycap wobble on larger keys, but this is quite rare and mostly happens with very cheap keycaps that have loose stem tolerances. Try the switches with stock stabilizers first, and if you notice wobble, you can get Geon stem spacers. These effectively turn them into long pole stabilizers and eliminate the issue. You don't need to get another set of stabilizers.

thx for the info, i wanted to buy the typeplus stabs which I saw in Mikeytypes youtube video, he put it on his wooting and it sounded a lot better. Not sure how much it matters, but if im buying new stabs anyway, might as well buy the one without any issue, but it's quite hard to find stabs matching exactly the same travel distance (3.2mm)

Typeplus doesn't have long pole version, but that's not an issue. You can put Geon stem spacers on stabilizer stems to make it long pole.

As soon as you get a tracking link whatever the shipping company says is the estimate. If they don't tell you a date, then there's no estimate. You can contact Wooting support, but all they can do is open an investigation with the shipping company after X amount of days and resend your package if it's lost

you can just use toggle key and using it on fn i believe (fn lock is the same but you have to hold then click a 2nd button)

put this on like fn 1/2/3/4 button of the main layer

and then edit that layer on remap to whatever u need it to

Thanks for all who replied. I've solved my issue with the Fn Lock. To be honest a better solution then I was aiming for. Now will have to see if I can get such a solution in QMK for my other keyboard.

Does the split spacebar actually make that big of a difference in game? I thought I got the split spacebar 60he v2 I never double checked it ended up being the full size spacebar but was thinking of just keeping the full size spacebar at this point cuz I already have the switches and keycaps on it and the switches are annoying to take out without them breaking.

Split use really varies in how it is used in game so yes it can be a big game changer and maybe some might find it annoying when they're not used to it.

It's all preference if people like it or not but for in game use it just depends

Yeah I kind of wish I had the split cuz for Tarkov I can have one spacebar for vaulting and the other for jumping so the jump isn’t delayed and vaulting and jumping isn’t on both keys. But then again the 80he doesn’t have split spacebar and people seem to use that just fine.

improper tightening of the plate screws can cause that. if you have a v2 with friction fit, its as easy as removing the board and making sure each of the screws on the back are evenly tightened.

Wouldn't matter ultimately. If a case didn't get coated correctly, and there's a defect - it's going to oxidise and crack or grow white rust. But we cover these under our warranty. 🙂

I’ve had powdercoats chip on fightsticks before, but I doubt that’ll happen with something sitting on a desk versus an enclosure on your lap.

The alu cases are indeed anodized where possible - White and the grey are not, cause that's physically impossible.

If you buy an ANSI prebuilt, it will have all of the keycaps for that layout preinstalled, nothing additional included.

If you buy ISO or a module, no keycaps are included.

I wonder whether you could just put on a spacebar? It would have 3 switches, sure, but disable two of them and then you just have a stiffer spacebar? Or, even better, remove two of the switches and now you have a better stabilized large spacebar. Naturally you will need one of those space bars with many many slots for stabilizers/switchs, but those are not uncommon.
