I use our Wooting cables for absolutely everything because they are the best USB-C cables I've ever come across

Well, it's a different sound profile but I like the profile. I think that I do prefer the Lekker Tikken switches in terms of their travel as compared to my KOM POMs, but I definitely prefer the stability of the KOM POMs.

I absolutely love the split spacebar. It's perfect for me.

I will say that I'm just a little bit unfamiliar with typing on the 60% jso I tend to overshoot the home row but undershoot the number row, which is odd.

I am predomintantly a right thumb typer and my thumb hits just barely left of center on the right space. My left thumb, if I use it, is just right of center of the left space, leaving middle space easily in reach for either hand.

As I type on these Lekker Tikkens, I really do like the sound and travel, but I'm missing the stability on my KOM POM (which were a wooting collab, but 3.4mm)

there's various reasons for why some things take ages or never happen, but wooting actually has done a lot of exploration in switches and tons of other mods

the big thing at end of the day though is wooting doesn't really like rushing to just release something that doesn't satisfy what we want

so sometimes something like just rebranding some other companies switch and calling it a day doesn't happen but we might want improvements or design changed or maybe something was wanted but wasn't doable so the project was scrapped etc etc

Yeah, it is very apparent to me that Wooting is very careful about not bringing something to market unless it meets all expectations, and I do respect that.

My wooting 60hev2 arrived last weekend. Wow. Had my last keyboard (CM Storm TKL w/ Cherry MX Blues) since at least 2011. I was worried I would miss myu clicky old mechanical.

I LOVE the sound and feel of these switches. Its really such a treat.

I'm still getting used to the 60% format, but the split spacebar's function key is really very easy to use.

it was module with stock stabs, what it sounded/felt like to me is the pet film hitting pcb (after being hit with the bottom of the stab) while sticking/getting unstuck with lube

after opening it i saw that the lube sipped under the pet layer and onto the pcb

maybe it was my poorly managed expectations, but i've assumed that the glass is more convenient than cloth, easier to clean, more consistent, doesn't wear out, etc

in reality i had these issues with it - even a little speck of dust feeling horrible so you would have to wipe down the mousepad often, skates wearing out and leading to inconsistent feeling between the freshly installed and used skates, having to wear a gaming sleeve since those mousepads stick to skin

another little nitpick (but it's more to do with mice tbh) is the fact that a lot of those new lightweight mice have somewhat uneven bases so if you're using just 4 dot skates you have to deal with the unevenness, not a big deal, but still annoying

i still liked glass quite a bit though, just wouldn't say that it's strictly better than cloth, more of a different thing

I recently got the CR-005 and I haven't had any issues with it sticking to my skin. Not sure if its because its tempered a bit. Never felt like I needed a sleeve with it

the tape itself also points out the screws that hold the plate, one of them is unlabeled though, on the top left side of the board as you're at it from the bottom side

and one of the labeled one is somewhat hidden beneath the tape, middle bottom

that's the only spot where you have to lift up the tape a little bit

Use friction fit pad? You can put the module with friction pad in Holy60, just install one of the screws to ground the module.

i have one of the pro cables and it works with 8k, but it's the straight version not the coiled

the issue with most cables is normally length, so it tends to be fine as long as you keep the length 2m or less (including coil length)

Anyone finding their backspace key a bit sticky if pressed in the top left part of the key? My finger generally hits the left side of the key and if it's more towards the top than the bottom the key kind of sticks/has unusual resistance when pressed.

I haven't done any investigation yet. Can try lubing etc. Wondering if it's a me issue.

This might happen if the PET film isn't properly positioned on the PCB or if lube has leaked onto it.

1. Pull the module out of the case using the included orange module puller
2. Remove all screws from the back of the PCB
3. Carefully separate the PCB from the plate
4. Remove the stabilizers
5. Reposition the PET film and clean it if there’s any lube on it
6. Reassemble the keyboard

Push the keyboard down in all four corners, so it goes further into the case.

The friction fit has loosened slightly during shipping.

The module is essentially a giant rubber band, and if it's shaken loose, or the box was upside down, it can slide slightly out.

I don't think friction fitting will work in that case. You'll need to replace it with the poron sandwich pad and screw the module in the case. Follow the second half of the video above.

It only comes with the module. V2 case doesn't even have standoffs to tray mount the module, therefore it doesn't come with the foam.

Also you don't need it for the Alumaze, just put the module in and install one of the standoffs to ground the module.

Installing a standoff really isn't possible without physically punching a hole into the silicone layer. Disappointing to see the alumaze hardware doesn't really account for the hev2 yet, and if you purchased the full hev2 instead of just the module you're stuck without the poron layer that accounts for mounted configurations.

Possible mounting points (they're all blocked);

Looking at the alumaze here, a pad for contact isn't possible either without cutting into the foam it comes with.

I'm not OPPOSED to physically modifying the silicone, or the foam in the alumaze. But either of these things likely void my warranty and frankly I shouldn't have to.
