I'm a bit unsure on the nuances and deeper workings of bootloaders/bios , is the bootloader itself updated when the updates flashed keyboard firmware or does the bootloader remain entirely static data and permanently unchanged when the wootility flashed keyboard firmware updates?

I've done some research and I think it's possible to change the layout yourself when resetting your wooting, then just ask them for the keycaps you already paid for or buy ones yourself

My wooting 80he i replaced the keycap and i noticed my x key can only be pressed when actuation set to 1.37+ because its stuck showing its holding down with 1.36 and 1.35 it switches between each other i thought it was my switch but i replaced it with 5 different ones from the extras that came with my wooting 80he and it still showed it i even tried cleaning off the inside lightly and it dropped it from showing 1.45 and 1.46 to 1.36 and 1.35

Hi guys, I have just bought my new wooting 80he in ten z takeovee edition, and wanted to change some of my switches to gaterons to try them out but when gently pulling them out with attached tool and also special switch puller the plastic of around 20 of my switches snnabed of what I observed just after. I don't know what to do, that keyboard switches were special and I can't really obtain them anywehere. Is there any chance wooting lets me to buy the damaged switches or send them. either 0.1mm (the lowest possible is technically optimal), or the lowest you can go without accidentally actuating the switches unintentionally (which nobody else can tell you because it is person and switch dependant)

This is for the old 60HE, but the lubing aspects are universal.

The 80HE uses screw in stabs. Unless you're going to cheat and use the syringe injection method, you gotta take the board apart to get to the stabs.

Just be careful.

Too much and if it gets to the bottom it can get sticky as it bottoms out

and that you won't be able to clear without taking it apart to clean them.

With stabs the more thick grease is intended to have bit more viscousity as it's intended to stop the rattling of metal and plastic

so visibly there's bit more but you won't really know without taking it in steps.

Space usually sound different than other keys, because it is a big key. For WASD you could try replacing the switches with spare ones and see if it still sounds different, and maybe let a other person give it a listen as well just to be sure it's not a delusion

also if you replaced the spacebar keycap it will sound clackier unless you move the spacebar filler over or use something similar on the new keycap

that empty space inside the keycap contributes a LOT

If you get different third party switches, there's a high chance they will behave the same, if it's the plate tolerance issue. Also both of those switches will be a downgrade in sound (KOM POM) and stability (Tikken) coming from Novas

I suggest not wasting money on another set of switches when you already have Novas

Nova is quieter than most other closed bottom switches. Lekker v2s have open bottom so makes sense that it's quieter.

I also play rhythm games, but no matter how hard I tap, I never hear my keyboard over the game, even though my build is quite clacky. Might be time for you to invest in a good headset

Your best bet is to get a closed back headphone/headset or an IEM

But some people like hearing their keytaps in rhythm game since it gives them info on how good they play.

Hmm, it seems to be a fairly flat headphone with only a spike on the treble. Your best bet is to reduce the high end/treble part of the keyboard. As for how, maybe a mat for the keyboard or an even deeper switch.

Hard for anyone else to know why he thinks that in details, it's his opinion. Pretty subjective. If you just want keyboard to write and nothing else, you could manage with 10 euro/dollar cheapo basic stuff. So you got to decide what you want to pay for and if it's worth it to you. Could say same about anything. For me, durable, great warranty, good quality specs and product that I like in many aspects, and I like the customer experience I have. And I use these a lot and I like my tools and space to be nice so spending for my hobby isn't a waste for me.

It's per say smart to buy metallic/heavy cases etc. It's literally just a feel and style choice. It's not "smart" choice.

It's a hobby as well. You got to know if it's worth it to you. There are other case options to cut cost if that's it. Not all things are for all cost efficiency. You buy stuff because it's nice or just because you want to. Bet your friend has bought things that are just nice and can't really back their argument with any real facts or other reasons compared to cheaper options.

Your money, you use it as you wish. Ain't no one else got a say in it. If you are not broke and can afford stuff, ain't their business and they are a poor friend if they mock you for your tastes. They can argue their case of preferences or technical specs against other products if they want, but I would not get it started by calling a friend "brainwashed".

I have never been more dissatisfied and unhappy with an assembly process as I am with the Wooting 80HE. Specifically, the JST cable. This is the most finicky, unreliable, and sensitive cable I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. The minute you think it’s securely fastened in, it disconnect the minute you try situating the PCB in the case. Please tell me somebody has a fix for this or something before I rip all my hair out

Your USB controller probably hates 8k polling. Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port, preferably one farther away from the current port. Then restart the PC and see if the issue persists

You get the friction fit layer which is pre installed and also a alternative foam sandwich layer if you want to use tray mount etc for some cases

Wooting keyboards have water resistant coating, but this does not mean it's water proof. If you spill something, you'll still need to disassemble the keyboard and clean it, to avoid corrosion
