It's great and sturdy keyboard, with long warranty. And switches generally should last far longer than normal mechanical ones. But. at the end of the day, it's a keyboard. You could manage with a cheapo one for many years, so it's really just if you find wanting something more hefty and sturdy, different mechanical features and good support and willing to pay for it. It's really subjective what you consider to be worth the money. Some crazy people pay millions for dirt smudges on a canvas 😛

Personally I enjoy it. It's expensive, but it's also a hobby and I use my pc for work and gaming, so it's got a lot of use. So it's a tool and little something nice for myself to customize and style as well. I am hoping it'll last me a lifetime, or plenty long enough realistically. And I love that I can adjust the trigger point, you have a lot of options on the feels and sounds of he switches already, and if you go "custom" and ready to spend the money, you are better off having a company with good record of standing behind their products, because any warranties and promises are only as good at the company that gives them.

it would require disassembly, but that is fairly easy as long as you have a screwdriver with the appropriate bit

then you'd just need to clean up the area under the stabs if they are full of lube, maybe take off the poron pads if you want to be sure (and if your model even still has them)

Hey guys, i've just ordered the 80he module with Geon raws and a Zinc Alloy case
i'd like to mod my keyboard but I have a few questions regarding a few mods since it will be the first i'll be customizing my own board:
What kind of stabilizers are suitable for the 80he board if I choose to replace them? (screw-in, plate, long poles or not?)
Do I need to add some extra foam in the case to get a muted/muffled sound profile or is the provided foam + tape mod sufficient enough?
And lastly, are switch pads doing anything or even compatible with the 80 board with the geons (like the ones from KBDFans or Maxgaming)?
I'll take any suggestion and am really excited to be part of the wooting community 🙂

oh and I'll be using GMK keycaps clone on top from Aliexpress, don't know if that could make a difference with the switches and stabs but I might as well mention it

Question: I'm enjoying my new 80HE and I'm trying to play some retro games, specifically 'Heros Quest: 1'. The classic game allowed use of Arrow Keys, but if you press UP and LEFT the game does not mix the two inputs into a diagonal movement. However, you can use the Numeric Pad in the game. e.g. Num-8 is up, Num-4 is left and Num-7 lets you move diagonally up and to the left.

So, I was hoping remap the Arrow Keys to make a virtual Numeric Pad setup; however, I don't see how I can map two keys to a single input. Additionally, the game requires a lot of typing, so I can't just remap a chunk of they keyboard to a WASD+QEZXC setup. Anyone know if an Arrow Keys to Virtual Numeric Pad solution already exists?

Sometimes when i switch to the 2nd profile I have which has rapid trigger, tachyon mode etc and i spam tab or something like that then i cannot type anything outside of the game (valorant) and when i press just tab in the game instead of showing the score, it opens the alt tab and its extremely annoying

After that if i even wanna switch back to my typing profile it either will randomly let me after a while or i have to manually do it from wootility

You can take steps to ensure there's enough oomph to get the job done, but there's a non-zero chance that you will encounter odd behavior when settings are maxed out (white rgb at 100% brightness and tachyon mode with 0.1mm actuation)

Is there a way to set the RGB lights for different actuation points on the 80HE? Just like the light indicator bar, but with every key. An example: you press A key from 0.1mm to 0.5mm and turns to white color, from 0.6mm to 1mm yellow, from 1.1mm to 1.5mm orange, and 1.6 to 4mm red.

If its not implemented, i think it would be awesome.
