It involved removing the stabs and then using something to pull up the pads. I used a thin shim and tweezers to get them up.

had the same issue its not needet to take apart but a difrent keypuller is actualy helpfull the super cheap one like this is way better instead of wiggeling you can pull streight and they plop right out only downside you realy neex to hit the plungers deep and press them inside else it will not work so it takes a bit of skill wich you can learn on the go after 4-5 you should know what your doing and put your finger in the toppart and pull streight that works.. thats how i changed mine after thinking its impossible.. so i know where you comming from

Thats the only fix that i know of. The people that had these issues before i saw they had to send the keyboard back but that was due to a faulty pcb cable on the back of the board

Your cable doesnt seem to be faulty from what you said so it could be a firmware issue. Have you tried factory resetting your keyboard?

I used a butter knife to get carefully under the edge, and then my fingernail and fingers to slowly drag it off. Then I carefully pushed it onto the new case while making sure I rubbed it flat end to end to avoid air bubbles.
