okay so i'm unfortunately on the brink of sending this back... i cannot for the life of me figure out how the hooks at the bottom row are supposed to stay together as soon as i screw the halves together. in this video i try to put them together as shown in the module assembly video. that works but only stays put until you put the slightest force on the other side of the case. i tried screwing in the bottom row screws first — as soon as i put one screw on the top row back in, the hooks instantly get loose and i'm left with that 1.5mm gap again. (it also arrived that way). I suppose this case is simply bent in a way? checked the hooks — they look fine but there's just no way they will stay in

Screws will make it tight, it can still happen that there is a gap, but even with it screwed in, you can push the front of the top case a little bit to the back, push it down, and then pull it towards you.

While screwing it together I tried doing this actually. had the hooks in the correct position, screwed in the 2 bottom screws. held it in a way gravity would help keeping them connected, so basically with the part that faces me towards the ground. then screwed in the top screws and theres just no way that this will not unlock the hooks from each other :/

did that. @winged pelican had a point though cause i was being real careful due to the screws being coated as well. But end result is the same. and the longer i play around with this, the more i realize it just does not fit on mine without leaving that gap

whenever i close the gap, i either
A) have a small gap at the back or
B) i have to actively press down on it, making it work just because the metal temporarily gives in a bit

i considered doing that but looking at the halves it looks surprisingly even. i placed it flat on the floor and couldn't really see where it would come from tbh. so i probably will only make it worse. i only really checked the top case half tho, it might be on the bottom one just as well

Quick review of Wooting in general: I was thinking the price was set because of (mostly) first to become popular with HE and taking majority market share but actually from communications, support, product packaging, etc the price makes sense. Things feel more leaning toward premium and well thought out.

I was hoping I wouldn't love the zinc white as much so I can gift it to my gf and save money on buying another but I think I might even buy another white for my gf whenever V2 comes out 😆

The Gat Jade Max’s visually look really good for lighting on an HE board but they are weirdly quiet and have zero relation to the other two Jade variants acoustics wise.

Tbh the feel of a key switch is just as important to me as sound because both genuinely does help me in games determining my input. The red switches claim to have low actuation force around 40g and the gateron g pro black switches on my keypad claims to have 70g actuation force and I find myself performing better in osu with my keypad. Ik osu is kinda a cliche but input is everything in that game and I end up playing worse with the red switches compared to how much better I do with the Gat g pro 2 ‘s.
Idk how to explain it but the red switches feel rattley and when pushing them down and letting go it has this specific feel to it that makes uncomfortable if that makes sense? The gateron switches have less stem wobble and they feel much smoother to push down and let go aswell as play on. Even though the gateron switches are heavier than the red switches I find myself performing better and having more stamina with them. (Im aware of the ping that happens with the gateron switches and I think it might be due to the fact its a keypad and doesnt have a proper housing/case, sorry for the yap fest too I just wanna see if you’re able to understand what my preferences are with the knowledge and experience I have so far)

I ordered the geon raw switches and some keycaps for 80he when it arrives! I got the lube and toolset coming with the keyboard too.
