The discussion was about that hardware manufacturer is using power to push more performance. Thus needing more powerful PSU. Also you need to overclock to get the performance.
Yes. That thing I literally just said ๐
yeah I realized that it was actually skylines at that point ๐
but I was from the phone initially and my monkey brain couldn't comprehend cs2 and 40 fps in one sentence, so I had to comment on it
tbf this is more an issue of using shorthands when not everyone in the convo will 100% know what the shorthand refers to
im trying to use the mixed movement profile in the wooting thing for the whole analog movement but when i click WASD none of them provide input does anyone know how to fix it?
the gamepad tester thing is showing that its working
but when i go into the game (ghost of tsushima) it just doesnt allow my character to move or anything
and when i try typing the WASD keys dont work
is there an option i need to turn on ingame to fix it?
I mean probably? toggling on controller support or some such?
Oh I dunno. It followed the previous message about Skylines ๐
Not at all games support mixing keyboard and controller inputs.
i searched it up and it said ghost of tsushima supports it
on the list thing
#1019723042244534282 share your profile.
dont ppl refer to it as CSL for city skyline
First I've heard that. Also it would have to be CSL2 which is just a mouthful at that point ๐
Has city skylines 2 had a lot of updates since launch?
Great success!
gamers nexus could barely get CSL2 above 60 fps with a 4090 at 1080p medium
Hasn't changed.
damn
Is it a hardware problem or a game engine problem ๐ค
it's just one of the most poorly optimised games ever
so mainly an optimisation problem
For people that ordered during the first batch, itโll be early august
If you order now september
๐

its just some plastic dude what takes so long
Itโs a preorder on a very in demand product
It's not though.
Your iphone is just a piece of glass why is it so expensive
Your house is just a brick
It's some plastic, some electrical components and a lot of small parts that all need to fit together in the way intended, and in a manner that it doesn't break apart.
i dont have an iphone
im broke
iphone, Samsung, Sony... doesn't matter, the process is the same at the end
i dont have a phone directly
๐ฆ pls donat
If you dont have a phone dont buy a luxury gaming keyboard
but its more cheap
not exactly. You can buy a Galaxy A35 5G for 250 these days and cover all your daily mobile demands with that
True i barely use my phone other than to read
you could use wooting on your phone tho so it's win win
l45 is more sensitive/quicker than l60 in some sense right??
would it make a real difference in competitive games or do i have it all wrong lol
it's just easier to press
over a .1mm or hell, even the full travel of the switch, difference of 15grams is meaningless in comparison to your fingers
ergo, no difference apart from what kinda feeling you like
ok thanks i'll give both a go see which is nicer ๐
when i buy module i only have to put switches and the keycaps yes?
Module requires a full assemble of the case switches and keycaps
Why isnt the stock abs case part of the options for building your module if it was I would have definitely gotten the module with l45s
damn
imma buy module to get little spicy
It is - For the 80HE
I meant for the 60
I would have loved to have. A pc plate and l45s
You're in the #๐โwooting80he channel.
It is not an option for the 60HE, because the module is intended for enthusiast modding.
i.e. bring your own case (or buy one from us)
Oh mb i thought I was in general

guys, forgive me for what might seem like a silly question, but right now i have a crappy bluetooth keyboard and i'm looking at upgrading to 80he and i'm wondering if it only comes with the cable or a wireless connection as well? also, how exactly does 2.4g work, does it require a wifi pcie card?
All of our keyboards are wired. No wireless of any kind.
oh shoot
I mean safe to assume if it doesn't advertise to be wireless... it's not wireless
it's safe to assume if you're not an idiot like me
Itโs easier to not buy into it and use it as an excuse if you stop putting yourself down o.o
You can be smort if you want to!
is that what my parents meant when they said i can be whatever i want to be?
i always assumed it meant i could become a fridge but i'm yet to succeed
Just be cold and mean, now you a fridge
Creativity and perspective can solve many problems!
much appreciated!
all jokes aside, i suppose if i can't go for no wires in my setup then i need a good looking cable at least
Their detachable cables look great and come with both, a coiled and a straight end
Iโm using 1 cable for 2 keebs fsfs
just unplug and hide when not using lol
do the cable actually have any latency diff or its just quality diff?
A cable either works or it doesn't.
Our cables are built to work with our keyboards even at high settings.
so any compatible cable has no difference whatsoever?
aside from the quality of the cable itself
It's ultimately just a question of wire gauge and the quality of the solder work.
And of course the real physics of "how long can a cable be before the signal loss is an issue"
Cablemod's regular coiled cables can't cope with Tachyon and 100% brightness last I checked.
But their Pro line of cables can, which have thicker wiring and I assume a stricter QC on all cable solder work.
i see, so they do make a difference
Our cables are just high quality cables, that we've designed for our keyboards to stay stable at the end of day.
No black sorcery or anything proprietary.
The blessings of Erik and jeroen
I was told that it was devised via wizardry not sorcery.
Hello, if I buy the 80 he module separately, will the cable and foam be included?
What are all known LED bar uses? Is there a list somewhere
Yes, in the pins
I miss shows like that these days....it was just honest fun with the family.
Off topic end ๐
is this good for 80he too? (asking because i dont see it written) btw it tells that we can have a discount if we have a wooting keyboard or a pre-order we have a discount but when i send the item in the basket for buying it, i dont get any discount.
Yes, it is compatible with 80HE
But to get a discount it needs to be in a separate order than keyboard
yeah i m trying to do it but still no discount
The discount will be visible during the last stage of checkout after you enter your e-mail
kk ty
nope still nothing it tells me no order found
but when i go on wooting i have the 80he in preorder, do i contact support mybe? and let them add the cable in discount?
Can you not order the PCR Frost version yet? Iโm not seeing it on tbe website
it's for module only
Ahhh, bless.
I never built a kb and when it arrived it gonna be the first time
Little spicy
I ordered the solid black PCR but yeah I may cancel that and switch to buying the module cause I was planning on getting custom keycaps anyway
Something tells me the frost PCR with good lighting will look amazing but I might stick with a solid case and go with semi-translucent keys instead
Oh i order normal but it will be in september and when i get refound i buy an instant module when i have the idea to customize it i can also do it
But when i buy it after tomorrow i get it in August instead of September
looking to buy a wooting. not really sure what switches to go for
Will a 60in cablemod pro straight cable cause issues w wooting keebs?
idk at what lengths issues arise
L60 is 60g bottom out L45 is 45g
L60 is light enough for me but if you have weak fingers you might prefer L45
wb the jade?
They are closed bottom
Sound and feel different, id probably just go with jades tbh
Those are like 50-55g bottom out iirc
do i use Poron foam or silicone?
I prefer silicone
You should screw it in
Hey there guys! Is the Wooting 80HE getting the zinc alloy raw case for a massive production or only for a limited edition?
Mass production
It's available now just on pre-order
It should be right here, right?
It's only available with the module
Always happy to help a fellow raw enjoyer
Are the switches already lubricated from the factory?
Yep
Real
I need a knob, someone leak something.....
if you ask Calder to not leak anything something will end up being leaked
itโs a cheat code to get free wooting leaks
Next calders gonna leak the upcoming Wooting game, staring Wooty the Lekker switch
are the extra L45 switches in package also pre-lubed?
All switches are prelubed, so indeed :)
nice
hello guys, I preordered the 80 HE as a gift for my son, I just wanted to make sure that it comes with a Cord already or do I need to buy a cord separately? thank you
it comes with a standard cord of some kind
thank you!!!
It comes with 2m USB-C to USB-C cable and USB-C to USB-A adapter
They live in a region where we do not collect taxes at purchase and instead they'll likely need to pay import taxes to their local country's customs
I see, from Spain I would be paying taxes at purchase, our VAT/IVA is 21% so I would say these taxes are the ones I would pay if I were buying where Wooting is located in (inside European Union, just as Spain)
Correct, you won't need to pay any additional import fees or taxes
Por la tasa de impuestos adicionales hasta colombia JAJA
did the 60he+ had a case included if bought bundled with alumaze?
Prebuilt comes with a plastic case, module does not
does the alumaze and zinc alu of 80he has same build material/feel?
well, the point of alumaze is that it's made from aluminium, and the point of the zinc alloy case is that it's made from a zinc alloy
I can't tell you what the difference in feel is gonna be though, I haven't looked at any comparisons and I think it'd be tough to find another case made from the same zinc alloy
i googled and zinc alloy is harder and stronger, but is zinc alloy more durable interms of longevity like corrosion etc.? sorry i missed my chem class.
who has the 60he +? I preordered the 80he but im scared it might be to big. right now i own a ducky one two mini so idk if a TKL gonna be a huge difference in size or not
The back is the 80he and the case in the front is the 60he
nice, not much of a difference. is this TKL? i though TKL have the 3 rowfor the insert, home, page up, delete, end and page down + the print screen, scroll lock and pause/break.

Both the 60HE and the 80HE come with a 4 year warranty (except LEDs, those are 2 years) and this warranty also includes the case. Some colors are anodized while some are painted, and the raw zinc is coated. For all products, the surface texture and finish is expected to stay consistent for years beyond the stated warranty. The only exception is the raw zinc, which may over time develop a new color as it ages.

Het antwoord op รฉรฉn van de belangrijkste vragen des levens. Kan ik vandaag een korte broek aan? De enige echte.
okay, that's good, and warranty is pretty long and good for consumers
We only make high quality products and we stand by them ๐
that's why i would stick to wooting for superb quality
will the lekkers 60 v2 switches be available soon?
Yes
will you also release lekker v2 on your website soon as 80he is released in public? just incase I go with the 60he+ module and just build it with alumaze + lekker v2?
Also yes
is there a confirmed date for those switches to be available or will they launch at the same time the 80 he comes out?
You can currently add them to a module order in a round about way by first making an 80HE order, adding the switches, removing the 80HE, then adding the module
oh okay. nice, thanks for this one. mr.Akbar
As soon as I have a confirmed quality assurance report from the switches and get the freight shipments scheduled, we'll make them available for purchase regularly
Hello mark!
thank you
incase I orders the 60he+ module+ alumaze + the lekker v2, and the lekker v2 is not yet ready for shipping due to other reason, will you ship my order together once the lekker v2 is ready or you will just ship my module and case first?
I'll be back from vacation next week and then it'll be go-time for a whole lot of fun new projects and store updates ๐
Once everything in the order is ready, it will get shipped
Fun new projects like the wooting numpad right? Right??
Lol I wish... Product development isn't in my domain
We need the wooting numpad

I agree
nice work around. just need to check youtube if the module or the alumaze include all the necessary stuffs to assemble them. or am i forgetting anything? this is my 1st custom keyboard.
or the module/alumaze already have everything like donut/foams, etc? just ready to assemble?
You could get the 70 pack instead of the 90 pack for the 60HE
Other than that, maybe a wrist rest? That's preference though
yes, that's also good to include. and maybe the coiled wire as well. any lube will work with it, right?
where can i see the 70 packs?
this are the only options
The detachable cable is purely for looks, but damn does it look good
Especially in pink ๐
Oh the 70 pack might not actually be listed on the store front yet, as we set up the switch packs for the 80HE launch
okay. I will wait for the 70 pack to save some cash hahaha
Alternatively could always get the jades ๐ then it would ship faster
Jades are nice
Looking forward to the updates!!!
Im excited to see how others raw zincs will age with time
Patterns could be made if you forced oxidation.
It starts with a p but I can't remember the word haha
Porcupine
Passivation? Is that it?
Probably that one
I will make a wish that my zinc would make little trees
Close, found it: patination to create a patina pattern
Gotta hope it turns into a free coffee zinc case
Patina can look real nice
Oh my, I seem to have fallen into a rabbit hole
https://www.azahner.com/blog/innovative-zinc-patinas-and-finishes
Might have to do some experiments on my zinc case ๐ค
If I ruin it I can always get it cerakoted
Should probably buy a few ๐
in the near future on the website will you add a feature that we can change the type of switches we want when we make the order but wooting still builds the keyboard
ah yes the dev giving out loopholes
thing
turning your zinc case into CS knife skin
Case hardened 80he
Unlikely, our preference is to offer a handful of prebuilt options that satisfy most customers and then facilitate the tinkerers to get whichever parts and pieces they want to have it their way, Burger King style.
It's logistically impractical to offer lots and lots of prebuilts, there's currently 12 for the 80HE, and I expect that will get reduced over the next few months
We didn't want people buying in stock modules but adding switches that would take months to be ready, that's why they weren't listed directly. But for the people who do that "loophole," they (probably) know full well what they're getting into
Question, how are the Zinc Alloy boards coming with their cases, packed inside like the UwU RGB variants or as a seperate item?
Together
so the zinc alloy prebuilt shows up as 1 item at checkout and will be inside the case inside the 80HE box
definitely reminds me of my UwU Stealth
That's correct
The travel case is being used as a component of the packaging to keep the keyboard safe during travel
optimum case and keycaps isit available for the 80he?
No. It is a 60HE collab.
It is not.
aw
also, what switches are light for the 60he?
find these a bit too heavy unlike my previous steelseries, so might swap them
no point lubing it
What do you have now, L60?
L45s are lighter than L60s which come by default
L45 are ... well 15g lighter. And there's also custom L30 springs if you want to go further and don't mind pulling and opening your switches.
whatever comes with the 60he+
Yep
are the jades any lighter?
Jades are 30~50g so slightly lighter
let me see what the steelseries had, because i liked that one
no offence wooting, still love youse
Which keyboard?
apex pro 2023
30~50 too
sooo, would you say go with the jades?
Jades are nice ๐
give those a crack then, i just feel that these switches are a bit too heavy for me
Either Jades or KS-20 Whites, both are 30~50
hello
i dont see the ks on the website
Ah, Wooting store, then yeah, only Jades and Lekkers
Imma go with L45
I love your charts Calslock
But i need the sound of it
that should be pinned in keyboard modding
37g is apparently the force for the apex pro tkl
hmmmmmm
still want it lighter anyways, ill get the jades
37gf is a default actuation point
You can set it freely on both Wootings and Apex Pro though
oh nah, im talking about the initial force
its the same as what i have now?
This is Apex Pro 2023
huh, then what do i find different?
i feel the apex pro tkl 2023 switches was lighter when clicking
smoother too i suppose
Well, L60s which come with 60HE+ by default are 40~60gf, so they may be noticeably heavier
why "40-60"? just curious
also isnt the steelseries one also 40?
allegedly
40gf is initial force, 60gf is bottom-out force
With HE/analog keyboards/switches there's no singular actuation point like with mechanical ones
By default Apex Pro has switches actuation set to 1.8mm, hence why 37gf (or about 40gf)
70 switch pack enough to replace all of the switches in 80he?
oh i see
skip f row, dont think you would need it
nah
my bad
84/85/88 for the whole keyboard
got it. So for the same feeling as the apex pro tkl, what switch would you suggest?
Just get a 90 pack.
oh, that doesn't seem to be an option on the website for l45/l60's
Either Jades or KS-20 Whites, which you can get straight from Gateron for example
And then changing actuation point to 1.6~2.0mm or thereabouts
iirc there were plans for 20-pack of switches?
You can with this pro stat
Yes
hell nah, 0.1MM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wait those switches can do that still right?
Sure, just that Jades have 3.5mm of travel distance instead of usual 4.0mm
Me buying 105 switches for my tkl
35 switches per pack sounds weird...
closer to the steelseries one
Quite standard, 2 packs for 60/65%, 3 packs for 75%/TKL/full-size
the SteelSeries switches are blatant, cheap and crappy copies of the Lekker switches
wouldn't be surprised if they get produced by Gateron too
i mean
didnt they literally come up with the whole low actuation thing
nope
im pretty sure they did back in 2020
at that time Wooting was selling the Two HE already
they're similar to L45 switches
very slightly lighter, but not by much, so the L45's are the closest ones to compare to
closer to ks20 whites or jades
wait you can add 20 switches into the 80he order or you cannot
12, 70 or 90
they're saying 45 cN
so they're indeed very similar to the L45s
isit possible to get the keycaps on a discounted price when i buy it individually because i am planning to get it separately from the 80he module and zinc alloy case to avoid getting tax in my country
No.

Time to find a package forwarder.
have wooting change their delivery pricing as well last time if i get something that doesnt weigh much the price would be cheper seem to be fix now
or isit cause of own country

Why is now September the Shipping Date for Wooting 80he? Jesus, thought Juli or August?
Because the first batch is full
It's always been (very late) July or early August for batch 1, which was only available during the founder's campaign (except for the very last day)
Batch 2 has always been September.
initially the first batch to be shipped was estimated for mid August
Batch 1* US orders with expedited show as very late July. Standard shipping are in August now iirc
i hope they ship it to me early, since the order my current keyboard is gonna die
some keys doesnt work anymore
I dont think itll be early like that
Cause production will finish end of july and then they get air shipped to the warehouses
u think august is realisitc if i life in EMEA Region?
Only way you get it early like that is if by some miracle the production is done early
Idk how long shipping takes for you from europe
Just assume very late july start date and then add x days to account for shipping time
alright
Bro i waited so long and im not even interested in competitive Games anymore haha
I dont even play competitive games really
I just want to have a good gaming keyboard thatโs an upgrade from my wooting one
i have the Logitech G PRO TKL
i hope this is gonna be a upgrade
but it should, the new keyboard cost me over 100โฌ more then my current keyboard
Sounds like itโll be an upgrade in every way imaginable
which games do u play and where u come from?
I mainly play for fun gamemodes in lol, path of exile and monster hunter
Also some warframe
Another week off the waiting list. Letโs celebrate that ๐ฅณ
Monday
Monday
Hey i've got a question, I've bought keycaps for my 80he for when it comes because i accidently ordered the keyboard without keycaps. how do i know that the keycaps will fit (Mostly space bar)
Need to make sure they match your physical layout. ANSI, ISO or JIS
And that your bottom row looks as thus.
(Well except for the last key on the right, but it's about the size of the keycaps specifically)
Appreciate it.
So will the space bar have 2 plastic clips under on both sides and in the middle, Or will it have 1 in the sides and middle?
Uh.... what
can i send pics here
1 stabilizer stem on each side and one switch stem in the middle
Yeah thats what i thought it will be
most keyboards have 1 on each side and 1 in middle
First batch any delay?
Nope, everything's on track
Well we did adjust estimates by a week or so a while back to make it more realistic.
im not sure if thats a question or statement
Just a month and a half away from the keyboard ๐ซก
guys is there an option to pay for faster delivery ?
other than the options provided to you
All of the available shipping options are presented at the time of checkout
so other than those there is none?
Correct
Thatยดs the default meme of the day ๐ค ( I mean the dealy of shippment questions)
i meant mansens message
cause the words suggest its a question but the end is a period suggesting its a statement

good
Yikes no much time left for the keyboard to be produced by China
Well, I would argue, thank god itยดs manufacturing in China. If anyone can meet deadlines itยดs China. ๐
Whatโs 1st batchโs expected ship date, I pre ordered months back but forgot if it said June or july
August.
Maybe very, very late July if you got into the first batch and got expedited shipping in the Us.
Maybe.
so early august is the first batch ?
I remember is being either mid June or july so it might be the July
I did the founders
Iโm not ignoring I just specifically remember it being a J month
And I answered that question for you ๐
Well shieeet looks like Iโm waiting till aug ๐ซ๐ซ
and we will wait till sep
which colourway is the most bought for the zinc alloy
also will the black zinc alloy material last longer than the raw one
its time for new 80he video .. isn't it?

mansen which colourway will last the longest
Ask me in ten years.
Raw zinc cause its cool
And if it does get a patina you can act as if that was intended in the first place
The long term play is to press your face against the back of the raw zinc case every day for 3 years
Get a nice facial pattern patina on the back
If you do it long enough you can unlock your phone with the back of your keyboard
Raw zinc of course
I thought you were the leader of the white zinc case cult?
Iโm a multi role cult leader
These days itโs important for cult leaders to diversify
I want to order wooting 80he but donโt know how much it will cost for the import duties and tax so itโs scaring me ๐
this depends on your country. best to check your country customs website for more info
Thatโs the thing my countryโs customs website is shit honestly.
Browser always gives me warning that this website is not safe lol.
What country? Most countries have websites with fairly clear info.
Nepal
Oh boy.
Forgot that was even a country
Hey now China. Down boy.
What about china
i believe this site can be of help

Ty for the link
Hi guys, itโs pretty difficulte for me deciding between the plastic case and the zinc alloy. Any suggestions or pros and cons?
Thanks !
Weight, sound, feel. It's not going to make you a worse or better gamer.
Which do you like the look of more? Do you mind spending what a zinc case costs?
It's all about the feeling, and never been on that type of keyboard. So don't really know what could be the real difference, except the price.
And my choice is between the black plastic and the black zinc
go for plastic the case doesn't look that good " zinc "
Where did you find any things, to really check the differences ?
the diff is the sound only other than that there is no dif if you wanna check by yourself write in youtube ( plastic case vs aluminum? ) I forgot the word
because it's a combination of metals, making it an alloy
not true, zinc case is way heavier
yeah for shore but I mean while using it not while left it up
yes but "zinc alloy" implies it would be an alloy of zinc, i.e. contain zinc
They probably didn't include zinc and listed the other metals that were combined with it
Because alloy means it's primarily Zinc with other metals mixed in to improve the overall result.
Bronze is tin and copper. Sum of it's parts.
Steel comes in a ton of different mixes depending on the use.
I know how alloys work, but this is more about how it's said on the website. "The material of the case consists of a mixture of aluminum, copper, magnesium and iron."
So the main difference is the sound ? If it's only that I'm gonna check on YT
Thanks for your time ๐
I mean judging from the name you'd probably know it has zinc in it, so they just listed the other metals included instead ๐คทโโ๏ธ
yeah and as someone said it's heavy but I guess you don't really care about the wight
Indeed you would, but I think it should still be mentioned when you say what the case consists of, especially if it primarily consists of that.
weight ? wieght?
Phrased like that? Where? I can definitely look into that ๐
Ah yes. I see it now. I fully blame our dear Dutch staff who can't English perfectly.
I'll pass it on
I won't be carrying while gaming ๐

heavy is good for gaming, since then your keyboard won't move around as much. Not so much for travel, though
then check on the yt for sound and pick what you prefer oh u will wear headset I don't think you will care about the sound either LOL
ngl they probably read the name which includes zinc, and then it completely slipped over their mind to type it down too lol
We dutchies know how to Nenglish perfectly fine
I ain't here. Poof
what are you smoking?
yeah you right on this one plastic will slide around a bit
As long as I have a carrying case and my keyboard looks cool, I'll bring it with me if I ever needed it to travel c:<
It all depends on what you do to dampen the sound I think. I've heard plastic can sound hollow if there isn't enough foam or something, while it's easier with metallic cases

Not only is the performance of the 80HE on-point, we also have thought about making some modifications to the board to improve the quality of the sound. And as an extra bonus we are showing our cases so you have a reference how it might look like closer to final.

Though I think this is a bit outdated(?) I'm not sure
tbh plastic does overall sound deeper
Verified through personal experience โ
zinc will make the keyboard sound cleaner I guess
Berry berry tru
yeah I still do prefer metal
Plastic sometimes sounds too muted, somewhat like being underwater ๐ค
i prefer metal purely for longevity
I mean if the isolation from the gasket mounting system helps it seperate the sound acoustic from the case then that's good
eh I have some boof plastic 60% from like 2019/2020 and it still looks the same as it did when it arrived
Including with the "Wooting Special Foam" (I'm exaggerating) it should help with any unnecessary sound bouncing around in the Alu/ZINC case
I mean Zinc is denser than Aluminum iirc, to be in fact it is also stronger than alu. So by chance this should allow the board to be "A lot?" less pingy and sound more full or cleaner. So yea you could be correct
Aya ! Guys giving me so much information, getting harder for me to make my choice !
I have been waiting for 4 years now to find the perfect key board so don't really care about the money.
I want to keep it as long as possible.
And btw to state a fact, CAM said this one point, โThe pitch of a sound is largely determined by the mass (weight) of the vibrating object. Generally, the greater the mass, the more slowly it vibrates and the lower the pitch.โ
Wich one (zinc alloy vs plastic) will be quieter ?
Plastic
gotta question, i want to pre-order a 80he, however where i live the standard for mail is p.o boxes, would that cause any hiccups in the shipping process (Newfoundland, Canada)
Metal feels way better though, and tbh the difference in "loudness" is very minimal
It shouldn't, I live in a small town in bc that uses po boxes and was fine
Although mine was just keycaps and PC plate, still lived in the city when I ordered my 60he
our p.o boxes are inside our local post office, so someplaces are iffy with sending like that but will send to the post office directly lmao, find it really funky on amazon sometimes, they wont do p.o boxes but they see the post office itself as a verified drop off spot lol
It should be fine with wooting, but you can wait for a staff member to verify it for sure, could also send them an email
It seems that both the PCR and the zinc cases sound really good, I do wonder how the PCR case feels compared to the metal case though
the ghost looks cleeeeeeean
Metal will always feel better imo
Heavy metal case makes the brain happy
you need to wait for better looking case like the ones they have for the 60he that's why better to wait
Im in the boat where Iโll just buy a new case and transfer everything over if I find something really cool
Too impatient to wait
The Wooting guys are really good at building up the hype, I got pretty excited after their latest few production updates
Regardless if 8 kHz polling (which they promoted a lot) is going to have a negligible impact, this keyboard is really gonna be a huge upgrade over what I have currently
wait so, zinc alloy or plastic ghost, hmm
White zinc alloy looks the best personally
ill be going with white zinc
Good engineering isnโt hype though ๐คฃ
It is to me ๐
Some one has a plastic case ghost one
I chose plastic ghost :p
obligatory the wait to get my keyboaard that i ordered knowing it was preproduction is soooo long. ( yes i understand and am not upset about it at all, just adhd and impatient.)
Iโm like that too I feel your pain. I been debating to refund the 80he just so I can get the 60he+. (Currently own 60% keyboard and itโs double typing and starting to not work.)
Itโs coming out at the end of July we almost there ๐ช
The voices are telling me to get all of them๐ญ
Quick question whatโs the wooting Uwu meant for? Is it just a gimmick to play with for people with adhd or thereโs another purpose to it?
It's designed for osu! specifically, but I use it for media controls
Okay thank you for letting me know. I was curious about buying it.
ive used a 60 and i cant do it. theres something about it. i know i almost never use the f row but not having it feels wrong and i cant stand it so the smallest i can go is a 75%. i know its close but yeah, adhd is a thing.
I see. I donโt mind not having F keys but if thatโs your preference then just stick to the 80he. The launch is almost here just be patient my friend, it will be worth the wait once you get it
Itโll be like when you wake up in the middle of the night with dry mouth as if you been in the desert sun for 40days and 40 nights and you get a taste of that nice cold water as if it was blessed by the gods themselves
that was me finally finding a book ive spent 9 months looking for a copy of. which happened very recently actually
Hell yeah brother ๐ช
using transparency for building hype is the best way to do it.
omg i have a little icon :O
I have one if you have questions
im sure this has been asked a thousand times. but im really wanting to get the 80 due to it having arrow keys. gonna have to get used to the size. but does anyone know how long 3rd parties usually take to make cases? im thinking of getting the barebones and getting a purple case in the future
Expect a minimum of a six month lead time, more likely 12 to 18, for the first 3rd party case being made (if it happens)
Thank you, really wanting to get one but if im gonna change the case in the future think ima just get the barebones, with the plastic case and all that for now
Makes sense, you can always pick up a zinc case later
yeah very true, been playing with an aluminum case for a while now, just didnt want to go back to plastic. hoping it isnt that much of a difference
i love 80he
such a hard choice
where do i find the barebones item you are speaking about? can you send a link please
Should be an option when you look at the options when ordering the 80he
It's the 80HE Module
what do you use your for?
mostly geometry dash, kinda goes hard ngl
unfortunately i dont see it :/
just see the pcr plastic cases and zinc alloy cases
you dont understand what im searching for
they said it was 3rd party bare bones...
They used incorrect terminology to refer to the module as barebones
I thought it was a 3rd party case they wanted?
thank you, for clearing the confusion
ah
We do technically offer a barebones in the form of iso prebuilt that doesn't include keycaps, but they were talking about just getting a module and case and no switches or keycaps
But the module is a barebones it's just a keyboard kit without the switches and keycaps
im new to keyboard modding and by the way the person was talking i thought wooting offer different cases i didnt see thus the confusion with everyone but mark cleared everything up
Well kinda, we force people to also get some kind of case but technically that's a different product
can the wooting still do 8k using the usb c to a dongle
True forgot about that, is that going to be the case until someone makes a third party case?
Yes
Otherwise someone will buy it without a case thinking they can get it elsewhere and be sad
Can always make a cardboard case
Indeed, but then they'd just need to reach out to our customer support to make a custom order
my bad thought barebones meant module
i see i see
If your planning to build your own with a wooting case I would recommend the zinc alloy case
yeah they look amazing but the pricing on it๐ญ
Plastic is always good then
its because CAD aint worth shiiiiiiii
LOL
Do you care about how it sounds
ty for the recommendations though
i like that thoc sound
and if it isnt too loud
Huh then maybe plastic is better for you
I would also get ks20 dual rail switches
And that's really it it will thock
i see i'll add that into my notes for when i build one, the pcr ghost case looks clean
oh those orange gateron switches?
Yeah thockiest switch
someone told me about lavender switches and said they were good (mb if i dont know the name of the switch)
hi dan
https://www.gateron.com/products/gateron-ks-20-dual-rail-magnetic-orange-switch-sat?VariantsId=10779
that would likely be Cam
Hope that helps
he uses lavenders
Yeah cam is a neo lavender simp
does the word Neo tend to indicate a modern refresh or twist in universal product lingo
im gonna be picking some up due to his recommendation
Some people love neo lavender and some people don't try them out
Hey lol (I forgot to reply)
he described them as poppier jades which intrigues me as i dont entirely like the clack
im getting 90 jades along with my 80HE
it does thank you. should i buy their lube kit from the wooting website as well?
If you want thock don't get lavender then
what sound does that sound like?
^
Unless you are super nit picky no
i like the mahjong clack of the jades
Like deep
Clack is a medium pitched sound
cam described lavenders as a poppy sounding jade switch, and jades are clacky
thock is like the complete opposite of jades
theyre not a high pitched click tho
clicky switches are cursed
interesting i have to look up how these switches sound. i currently have a ducky one 2 mini 60% with cherry mx brown switches
I like jades because they sound like mx not he
i still like the distinct sound of HE
Does it sound deep or high pitch
i would say medium sound
the blue mx switches are the loudest. The browns are like a type writer feeling
something I woukd love to see is silent HE switches with long poles, but how
i was about to get silent cherry red switches but end up getting the brown.
Then I would go ks20 dual rail switches to replicate
ok ty !
Rest is up to you
i want to build a keyboard but not trying to spend too much money on it since it'll be my first build
just incase i mess up
For my first proper custom I'm going super cheap @icy charm
I only realized recently that it's going to break the import $1000 limit and I'm going to have to pay an extra 15%
I was joking my first proper custom is going to be the Jane

And there's PCB + extras on top of the base fee ๐ธ
Trust me these are almost impossible to mess up if you keep it simple
you underestimate my luck ๐
lol just joking
I assume the process of assembling the 80HE Module is basically the exact same as the 60HE right?
Almost.
Gotta connect an internal cable for the USB daughterboard, and click together the case if PCR
Do the l45 v2 switches come pre lubed?
Yes - ALL switches we sell are lubed during assembly at the factory ๐
Oh okay, thanks
keyboard looks like other keyboard
Those caps lock caps with bump on em
Iโd like to try one of those but i dont think they work with the boards i have
oh lol, just noticed it's missing the Win/Dash and Menu button
yea they need an offset mounting

yea it is WKL
I have an ancient board with that style of caps but of course its some proprietary mounts
CWKL is even funnier
that would be somewhat rare, you sure it isn't just alps mount?
could be, am not super schooled on all the mounting types out there
iirc its like a cylinder underneath the caps
alps mounting is just a square
should note its not a fancier old board with proper mech switches but rather some type of membrane
ahhhh
maybe some mitsumi stuff or something idk
tbh while I prefer stepped caps it doesn't really make a big difference in use to me
well it mighta been a bit harder to press by accident having a bit of gap from the A key
am using it as an fn key on my wootings so doesn't matter too much anymore if I do an oopsie press

vintage cherry board?
yea
from the german health system
got a built in KVK reader, don't ask me how it works tho
kvk as in the german health insurance card not kvk as in the dutch business number
lol yea, a krankenversicherungskartenleser
blackmagic and drivers
something along those lines
lucky hospital staff having mech kbs at work, guessing that's not the case anymore
needs more these days than just the reader anyway since they all need the KV intranet
if they still work they are still used.
probably horrid oem membrane boards everywhere in gov these days
yea they replaced the model around 2000 to a membrane
and I think they had MY versions as well
I bought a few of them just for the mx blacks in them lol
here most institutions, schools etc were already using membranes in the early/mid 90s for most part
decent-ish membranes like keytronics but still
why is this so nostalgic holy shit
what if I told you it has a coiled cable too, from factory
enough to make any zoomer salivate
yep, I developed allergy towards coiled cables from growing up in the 90s, I don't understand the fascination with slapping one on your modern usb keyboard
let alone paying extra to have it
the modern ones are even worse
since they aren't functional in any way
right, it just takes up more space on your desk and attracts dust/dirt
and the coils just desintegrate if you touch it in a bad way
btw those can still work with adapters

I remember those phones. And we had to share a line with a neighbour.
there's just something amusing to me about these heavy dooty "aircraft grade" screw-on connectors on coiled cables
when the two main connecting ends are still small, brittle usb plugs
you mean the ones that now fell out of favor for sleeker alternatives like lemo
oh that trend has died off huh
I mean lemo is still massive overkill in comaprison to USB
yeah they still look huge
I just have one to have multiple device ends
HP is done a good work filling up Dell and Lenovo absent in the Enterprise environment
That looks like my power cable for the Red camera ๐คฃ
Wish it would have been able to be powered by USB C ๐คฃ
quite possible that they use that
tbh as small and convenient as modern usb-c and all that is I'd like to see a more rugged port standard for certain niche uses
tableslam
lightning?
smth like clr?
I don't like the trend of usb-c power being slapped onto basically everything these days including pro gear otherwise ment to withstand some wear and abuse out in the field
for power smth like yamahas old XLR2 would prob be a damn well good rugged standard
but also chonky af cause cant really make rugged small
Just make a pro USBC connector ๐คฃ
I have some HDMI systems with a bracket that secures the cable
yeah, heck even a damn dc barrel plug will survive a lot more and much easier to replace should it for some reason get trashed
dc barrel jack isnt really rugged though
but its also too weak imo
they break so easily
and if you talk the more beefy ones like dell they have a very easily broken middle pin
nice chonk to connect
solid pins
and keyed
that's kinda where the downfall first started, going from internal psus with a chunky 3-pin connector to barrel jack and wallwart and eventually ending up with super fragile usb-c/micro
well the downfall is thinner and thinner
portability is always smth thatll get influenced with more chunky but rugged connectors
yeah, and for consoomer electronics that makes sense for most part
but professionals typically expect a certain functionality and lifetime of their equipment, and weedy little usb plugs isn't exactly confidence inspiring
yeah figured if there were to be a rugged usb port standard it would have to support the lot, not just power
closest I can think of is like, usb-b
Are there big differences between the Two HE and 80HE?

Layout
that ain't a lot of io
oh and you get the choice between having a PSU or a battery
on later revisions that is
, normally you only get a powersupply
Tell that to calslock
@tight cypress
I didnt make this graphic i just stole it
friction mount my beloved
I tadpole mounted mine
Tf is a tadpole mount
also I would argue it is not a gasket mount unless you use an entirely different case
Does it grow into a frog after a while?
top mount but instead of screws you use a rubber insert that looks like a tadpole
isnt that what frog mini uses
it is used in geons frog keyboards if that counts
Ah
thats why we said friction or well calder did in the stream
๐
gasked to us is what the 80he has where a gasket gets screwed between the top and bottom cases to 100% decouble the board
technically people used the term "isolation gasket" for that before, if you only dampen on one side and got a hard mount on the other side it is not rally a gasket mount tho
not like the friction mount really dampens the mounting itself at all
its just a screwless mounting method from what i can tell
essentially, but you add a rubber o-ring that keeps the module in place and somewhat dampens it's vertical movement
It would be better if there is a wireless option for the 80HE. ๐
not with the powerdraw of hall effect boards
also introducing additional latency on a board designed inside out to be as responsive and low latency as technologically possible
sure wireless is pretty darn quick these days, but still
if done well expect ~0.4ms
Yeah but have you considered the upside of removing the cable from the keyboard, a piece of equipment that you move so very often unlike a mouse
or less even
I do see the appeal of wireless kb in some instances, but for your gaming pc not so much
agreed
as a HTPC board for example
but I would prefer something less bulky like this https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-b1-pro-ultra-slim-wireless-keyboard
I wonder what v3 pro latency is
should be basically the same as the v3 hyperspeed
Should be lower if assuming they improved it ๐
afaik is very similar tech wise
V3 pro technically has the best sensor in the market rn but click latency idk
iirc difference is just motion sync behaviour at 8khz
Razer has exclusive rights to the latest sensor, the other are using sensors that razor used 1-2 years ago iirc
yes, still that is the difference iirc
Im a motion sync hater and razer 8k hz and motion sync both doesnt feel good imo
yea motion sync is bait
Wlmouse is what i recommend these days, cheap and decent
Maybe we should run with rc cars-connectors ๐คฃ
Lmao so it seems drunkdeers custom socd wooting clone is literally just using auto hotkey script
Neat
lol
High latency and can get you banned. What a joke lol
I just ordered a Sora V2 to go together with the 80HE. I wonder what will arrive first ๐
lol really?
i ordered my uwu yesterday and itโs coming today?
what the fuck shipping is so fast

I love my razer viper 8k, I know high polling rate is effectively worthless but its got some placebo value atleast
for mice its quite valuable
where is the superlight 2 with 4k polling man ?
Polling rate alone doesn't do much for that lol
yep - the people with the tester version of it confirmed that's their 'rappy snappy' right now
x]
literally just very uncustomizable auto scripts that are banned in some games
chinese gonna chinese
hello
does the keyboard have usb c input? i want to connect my headphones
None of our keyboards have passthrough or any kind of IN-put.
You plug the keyboard into the PC using the one cable - that's it.
okey also the pcba - is it spill resistant?
Yes.
some testers who have it in drunkdeer discord and other places
basically it seems all the chinese rappy snappy copies are doing this. Just mimic custom socd using software, which isn't all that rappy or snappy
maybe im a bit crazy but even 1k feels fine on my 1440p 360Hz display?
Yeah itโs like how the SU68 does it where itโs basically using DKS to counter strafe when you release ๐๐๐๐
1k is fine no matter what
exactly, just no lower
@buoyant solstice good afternoon
ah mansen loves it when he gets tagged just to say hi
I always forget I ordered the 80he then I get excited again and check the site and discord for news lol
Yeah, I run 144hz so anything over 2k is practically invisible, Iโm kinda basing my knowledge off optimums video where he showed that even on a 540hz monitor 4k polling rate was only ~slightly~ better than 2k in terms of smoothness, and that was at like 10x slowdown
Your mouse is still sending three updates per frame so yeah, the only difference is it smooths out some jitteriness that can be seen presumably from the timing between mouse updates and new frames
Some frames get 2 mouse updates, some get 3, etc
Is there a raw zinc bundle?
As in a prebuilt keyboard? No. But there are some discounts for an 80HE module order with a zinc case.
When will the people apart of the founders campagne revive their keyboard?
Current batch ships in September
Vast majority in August. But check your hub.
How accurate is the hub could it change from what it says?
It's an estimate at the end of the day. If there's a sudden, unplanned delay, that's just the reality of things.
is there a picture of raw zinc with black keycaps
thoughts on the magnetic jades?
nothing motionsync and ripple control cant help
mb i didnt know he didnt like that
also I dont play FPS games or that benefit from a high poll sensor
They are very nice ๐
Hello! New here, im stuck between ordering the new 80HE or Drunk Deer G75 with their new tech, anyone have any thoughts!
wonder where they got this from
I did not think wooting had this feature? ๐ฎ
Personally I wouldn't trust inebriated wildlife with making complex electronics - but that's just me.
Is their a video showing how the rappy snappy works ?
in the image I posted it's a video
images just tend not to move
also I'm not sure this is even a real showcase, because they show (what looks to be) counter strafing while holding both buttons down, which is not a thing
if you press both A and D it's neutral, the same as not counter strafing
Yeah the video is slightly confusing, I am not sure if its keybinding essentially 2 keys at once to create a input
Like the space bar jump crouch further in too, that would be annoyin gon each jump lol
oh yeah... I wouldn't want that
But it looks like, you can set it so when you press A/D keys, it will activate the other when releasing coursing a quick counter strafe
drunkdeers clone of wootings rappy snappy so far is awful. It's just a custom auto hot key type script
yeah I think if you want quality you go with Wooting, Drunkdeer seems like a budget clone
There's some people who have early units of the g75 and it's implementation of the feature is awful right now
ah that sounds rubbish then!
you can literally get banned in some games for the way they've done it via janky scripting. Not to mention a script is definitely not a low latency solution
yeah I mean this just reminds me of an old CS:GO script that got people banned
like, just learn how to counter-strafe
i mean the real problem is they clearly don't have a real full time dev team. On top of their rappy snappy clone being a janky script, their current a75 board is getting brick reports regularly because their software doesn't have a way to make sure you install iso software on iso keyboard and ansi on ansi
literally something that can be fixed by any on staff dev in under a day
I guess there is only one winner of wooting. Been waiting for a larger keyboard as i like my f1 keys and arrows as i still play some old retrogames so will go ahead and order shortly cheers!

Imagine needing keyboard manufacturers to fix poor acceleration in your engine.

nice thank you! I guess you can have this and rapid trigger on ?
yep if you want
I am trying to order the wooting 80HE and i am super confused what is happening!! It keeps going up and down in price from 174 to 207 lol what is the price!
UK brexit stuff - it calculates it properly at the end
i also presume the keycaps will all come installed too
I think it depends on the layout format you pick, but if you buy the prebuilt the switches are pre installed
Putting on keycaps is super easy though. Like legos really
the uk stuff did not have much customisation really but im happy with the bog standard plastic and better caps
this is what i went with
Keycaps are separate in your order.
I did not have a option to buy a pre built one
Correct. ANSI, preassembled only.
keeb make game go BRR
thank you for the help all! Looking forward to receving it around september and getting rid of this asus one ๐
Just ordered my 80HE. I AM SO EXCITED
W
a
i wish wooting offered just black/white blank keycaps on the module page
Plenty of those keycaps on the market
true, theyre not exactly hard to find lol
I guess the switches is pre-lubed even when you have to assemble it when you get it? (did not choose the prebuild one)
Yes.
Would be a lot of work to take them apart and THEN lube them.
A lot easier to have the factory lube them, while assembling the switches.
Awesome!
I did go for the Gateron Jade switches since I've read alot of good about them, the only thing is that the depht of the click is 3.5 mm instead of 4mm right?
Doesnt sound like a huge leap of measurement, something you'd get used to rather quick?
Anyone know if they got a ghost case and white keycaps picture?
Can you help guide me towards keycaps that would work? I've literally spent 2 hours reading through forums and blogs from Wooting. With all the different shapes, materials, north vs south, cherry (idek what that is) it's hard to understadn what's even compatible
As long as they have mx/cross stem, 6.25u spacebar and 1.25u bottom row, they should fit just fine
Pretty much any keycap set will work as long as it has a mx stem ๐
The north/south facing led isn't an issue with these keyboards
i like the 1.25u abd 6.25u standard row
I like keyboards
Is NA-Champion still on track for late July? For some reason it's not on the batch update page.
Can check on wooting hub depends on where in the US whether if it's late July or early August
They're both just estimates anyway
Expedited for late July, Economy for early August iirc
Ty
Let it be late July
When will it be out of pre production??
expect it early august, heard that from the team
do you know the name of the batch for august ?
NA Champion and EU Kampioen respectively
ty
im eu kampioen ๐ค gotta link the account soon for the benfits

Anyone on wootings staff know how the iquniox ez series keyboards did against wootings 80he at the computex
hey I dont see my name in the wooting 80he founders page why?
and I dont received any email about anything related to founders page
That would be located in the wooting hub if I remember correctly
thanks I just saw it

They said similar performance in test - makes sense as both are proper 8k poll
Who said specifically?
I have bought.
So they added it alteady?
Weeks ago.
I can't help but notice the 80he icon in discord is not white. The church of the white 80he files a formal complaint
your complaint has been thrown out the window raw zinc alloy traitor.
