That mostly comes down to the complexity of repairing a defective LED (i.e. manually removing the protective coating on the PCB, desoldering and resoldering a new LED) as well as the rated longevity of LEDs.

If advancements are made for the kind of LED we use, we'll definitely have to reevaluate the length of warranty to match that 🙂
