Someone argued that it’s old and that if Oda were to draw the first Nika I wouldn’t like it too
I think Oda just wants to make a statement with this design.
The statement that it's the literal devil.
What do you mean?
You mean characters like Joyboy, God of War and Nika would look weird because they're ancient?
hi
Wait is he shirtless?
Yeah?
Like in the actual panel I mean
Yes.
I didnt notice

Tiny dots are the tattoos
its a circuit
Eyes
Forget Kaido is a Poneglyph. Imu is a Poneglyph
At least they've got the age for it.
What's the leading theory about imu's blood coughing?
Close to the sea
Isn't the red line in the middle.oft he sea?
It's high up
He did some sacrifice when arriving and is in a devil form now
Isn't that elbaph village also high up?
The Red Line is the highest point on the earth other than sky islands
I dont think the sea fucks up Imu tho because doesnt he want the sea levels to rise?
How do we know that?
Pneumonia 💔
Educated guess
I don't think it's higher than the Adam tree on elbaph
It might be linked to CDs wearing bubble helmets (impure air?)
Might be, but then why wouldn't he have a respitator?
I think that's just bigotry, we've seen Celestial Dragons who don't wear them.
Oh no I think the top of the adam tree is in the sky islands too but theyre in the middle of the tree
Sommers doesnt wear a bubble helmet. Hes so kind ❤️
Yeah but maybe in the past there was a legit reason to wear them (like the whole atmosphere was poisoned), and over time the air became breathable but some CDs continue to wear them as a status symbol
i think its more that that fashion was originally done in honor of Imu, but as Imu became more and more secluded, the reasons for those helmets became more and more forgotten, so now they think theyre allergic to lower air, when in reality they arent
That would be interesting.
Eh it's a stretch
Yeah this
Couldn't it be that Imu nerdona is somehow bound to mary g?
Or do they wear them cuz they came from space
Could be, and going outside of it breaks that bond.
Hence the coughing blood symbolizing breaking a cruse or removing spiritual suppression.
He has the power to bend someone's will with a tattoo, maybe Mary g is the place that makes it possible to do so without fatigue
that too
Or possibly; what if the holy land is also linked to him?
like if he leaves the holy land, the ones with immortality become temporarily mummified
Something like a central command centre
It's interestin as to why the elders were so terrified of the mere idea of Imu leaving them.
If that was the case I think the gorodorks would be far more against his decision
probsbly scared of the fact that imu might die
If imu dies they die aswell, except for garling probably
It doesn't feel like that's in their character, given they already believe in the great one more than anyone else.
The fact he is a secret might also play a role into this
yeah, surely some of that fear was towards what would happen to them right?
could be that theyre just afraid Imu would lose like they did to the strawhats
cus if imu dies, they die too
well they didnt lose
except Mars
Luffy Bonney Franky and Sanji def beat Mars
fair
Could be, but I find it weird if they'd doubt in Imu like that given all the prior interactions it seems like they believe in Imu more than anyone when it comes to things, they even called Imu the creator or whatever.
The creator part makes sense now given Imu founded the World Government.
Yeah true
I just think that they want to uphold the status quo, which is a fake oligarchy without anyone superior
If the world find out that Imu exists the status quo crumbles
All they ever done was upholding the status quo passively
That could be it.
Imagine Imu has a gag where he pretends not to be the King of the World
"Who are you?"
"Mu is… a mercenary for the Holy Land… uh… yo
"
Imu seems to get some sort of debuff when leaving the holy lad for whatever reason. That is why they're worrying that much in the first place.
Imu would likely have a much higher chance to die there then he would be in mariejois
And then acts like the posh bitch that he is on the first occasion
It's so weird.
The guy was screaming when transforming yk
Only to go back to "uwu, sowwy"
I think was part of the transformation, like a prelude to it.
I would love that
hes as bad at lying as Luffy is
Coughing up blood could trigger their transformation, similair to another series...
Where they have to go through something painful to trigger their transformation.
That'd be funny af
I'm still convinced that it's a zoan transformation
Model devil
I'd agree with you
It's odd then that we didn't get a proper devil fruit name and model for it.
Just "The Devil's Fruit"
Some say it might be e cause it's the "first devil fruit"
It should've been something like... Mazoku Mazoku No Mi Model: Satan idk.
"I am St. Ner- uh… Nero Nero Nimu
"
"St. Nerona Imu? From the history books?
"
"NO!
"
Could be..
At least we know there's a fruit
Tekking said that he believes that maybe they could pull different fruit powers from the grimoire they wield.
I like the idea that they can wield essentialy every fruit.
All the fruits are descendants of this fruit or whatever.
What grimoire?
TEKKING STOLE MY THEORY
-# not actually, but still, pretty close to what i said
The one they had when they posessed Gunko.
what do you guys think is the abyss
Oh the book
Yes, just like this.
I think it's just a book ngl
Really?
Mont D'or upscale
Yea
hes gonna get all the recognition
Not a chekov's book, let's say
I think it's more than just a book.
Were you thinking about the one Ivankov had, lol?
Having a book that can pull up any kind of devil fruit's ability is too damn broken. Blackbeard himself already has 2 of the most strongest devil fruits of their type. While it's obviously not confirmed that imu can use 2 fruits at the same time (if that were the case), the combo attack potential is too crazy to be realistic for a fight
No, I imagined Imu holding a book in the flower room
I am in dire need of a reread
-# not low iq but i couldnt find one that was "bait or alzheimers"
Icl
I think it's reasonable given that they're the king of the world, they're the catalyst to why history has been shaped as it has.
The mural already hints that the world will go against Imu.
So, every devil fruit...
Against the devil.
Posted 10 years ago, and it makes perfect sense
Wouldn't it be kind of mid to watch someone who has the power of the gura gura no mi and defeat them only to watch another fight with someone else who has the gura gura no mi and defeat them aswell?
??? my post has been deleted? why ?
I don't know what you mean with this.
What?????????????????????????????? but?
Oh i forgot, the guns and daggers literally comes from the book.
And then people will go
"but why would Imu make devil fruits? it goes against his goals"
as if its out of character for a devil
to grant peoples desires
through forbidden fruits
at a seemingly benign- but actually grave cost
Like some sort of faustian deal
Dang, but it's something many people know already, it's more a theory to begin with, why not discussing it? 😭
It's so fitting.
when was this
am i high
When they went against Broggy and domi reversed him.
I'm disappointed
i have zero recollection of a book bro tf
exactly, glad you agree
heres my theory on why btw
-# (he tricked the original AK dwellers into becoming anchors so theyd be doomed when the sea rose)
@rapid ridge Can it be discussed in #manga-theories ???
COOOOOOOOK
I'd message mohdoo about it tbh
thank you
genuis
Oh like Sauron's rings
Tbf it has already been posted here in the past and it made no issue at the time
oh yeah kinda like that same level of trickery yeah
Or maybe it should have its own channel Idk
Your hypothetical suggests that imu would be able to use any fruit with his book correct? If so what would you think the reception would be if imu used the same fruit as blackbeard's when we fight him. If it were other characters besides luffy that would fight him with this ability I wouldn't complain, but the possibility of luffy needing to fight 2 people with the power of the gura-gura no mi can get repetitive and boring, as ridiculous as it might sound's it's not impossible. There's a reason why someone people still suffer from dragon fatigue
Weeell, I hadn't seen it
thank you
I really like this
I'm pretty sure there's a pp joke there
I don't think he'd use the same fruits as Blackbeard, we'd just have the knowledge of they could but really there are so many other fruits which they could use instead, it's not really an issue.
Oda is known for them
It's hard to see for the final villain that has so much on their arsenal to not just use their trump cards, especially when it is as blatantly spelled out like this
You know who else is named after a bird? Jack Sparrow! Coincidence I think not
Please don't start it.
hahha-
Thank you
im glad you like it
Wakainu
Obv bb
let us delete the message
I mean Imu would probably just change between fruits to fit the scene, like maybe they'd use the warp fruit if they need to close the distance then switch it up with the diamond fruit for a punch and then maybe stab them with the devil's tail or unleash a beam like the light fruit.
There's a lot of fruits that could be used, i don't think they'd be a one trick pony if they had all the fruits in their arsenal.
800 year old asw they have tons of expeirence iwth it
I still dont get why people think imu is overdone as character design
I'm strongly against this
I hate copycats
hes supposed to be the king of the world being extra comes with it
In media
what if the devils fruit is not all the powers but specific powers of the devil itself
Honestly js 1 pebble of sea stone and imu is just wiped
so some weird devil stuff
I mean we've already seen Imu teleport, change the trees and homes into nightmare homies etc.
What is this about?
I think it's the drums of depression
Imu having every fruit in their arsenal.
the copy cats are the devil fruits cos imu is the original
In contrast to luffy's drums of liberation
also dont forget he pulled up a gun
drums of opression
imu with a gun is peak
Could be, but they're extremely similair to for example Van Augers warp fruit and the Big Mom fruit.
100%
Imu used a magic circle the abyss for teleportation, this is not fruit related, The trees and homes were pretty much DR'd, by Imu putting demons in the objects by his mere presence. Those arent having the same abilites
No, I mean when they teleported to Usopp.
And then caused Usopp to explode himself.
That was just a speed blitz...
That's possible too.
Oh yeah, wasn't it Junko that just came into his face?
Trash speak for trash character
That's lucky roux's signature move
yall liked the chapter?
yes
i always love getting the WG perspective
Same. I saw the one hint that was the Dream Face Reveal gif and I knew to avoid spoilers the rest of that week
that was the perfect amount of anticipation for me
I had to watch over chat tho
tt feed cooked me
(but I didn't after the raws dropped, but shh don't tell anyone)
Your fault for using tt (whatever that is)
tiktok
What was this by the way.
Onigashima
On Punk Hazard?
twitter told me that "fans are discussing Imu being a horned prince" and then i accidentally saw a split second of a fan rendition in spoilers, and thought i just got spoiled on the design
but then the actual design looked nothing like it so it still exceeded my expectations
Who's Who spying
-# dont ask why he has his onigashima hat atp
Ai slop designs were flooding the place.
There's a theory that suggests vegapunk was trying to clown ancient giants
That's interesting.
their saying thsu is where kaido comes from
Ahhh i see
The theory states that the oni race are failed creation of ancient giants
He was like "lmao look at this tall horned dorks"
my theory is Kaido just wanted to be different
Is the oni race an official thing?
ehhh, not really
it could be read more like Kaido thinks of himself (and by proxy Yamato) as "monsters" for their strength
The theory also said that this is the reason why the numbers are ancient giants. Since kaido was a failed experiment of an ancient giants it would make sense for him trying to recreate them
Dorry and Brogy calls themselves onis too for example
thats their epithets
oni often gets translated to ogre
Sounds like some shenanigans he'd do in his early years
Yeah, i thought that the oni race was just a fan concensus thing.
yeah exactly. Like a coping mechanism
Tbf it really isn't something made by fans
Kaido Just called himself and yamato oni's and we've never got an extension of waht he meant
I forgot all about the numbers, but that's right they did look devilish.
he was treated like a weapon
as a creature to sick on people
not an actual human
he was a monster
so he thinks he is one
its like if Chooper always embraced "being a monster"
maybe the people of vodka kingdom called him an oni cus his silhouette looked like a mythical oni creature, sort of like if Chopper called himself an abominable snowman like the villagers thought he was
stop the AI slop
Slacktivism 😭
or else riot
oh, would "oni" be an example of a neologism if the perspective i gave earlier is correct? 👀
awesome 😼
No you citrus I ment slacktivism
sorry, i was too locked in to the oni reflection because it finally gave me a better understanding of Kaido as a character
Fair
I'm gonna make me a steak.
btw, while i have you here, wanna see a meme i made?
enjoy!
Sure
Thanks
References politics ig, but mostly for the pun and structural similarity, not any political commentary
😭
You gotta admit Ronald Regen is a great pun name for the "leader or the regen merchants"
thank you
Jay liked it too
-# i dont agree with every take he has, but his joy is very infectious, so making him laugh that hard feels good
Tbf, i think he just assumed I accidentally misspelled Raegan 😭 he didnt quite get that it was a pun
Oh, lol
if he got the pun, he mightve died laughing considering how much he loved it despite that tho
It was very funny, I agree with him that we need more of these kind of memes instead of just slander and powerscaling.
ikr? I put so many layers into it
we need more of that sometimes
Good job!
thank you 😌 the glaze has really helped my own self-confidence
-# and i think ive handled it well without becoming full of myself 👀 i hope so at least
Best we can do is God Usopp and Con D. Oriano
Wait, I just realized this is more relevant than ever now with all the people yelling for a straw hat death
Wait he saw your meme?
This is what I was looking for the other day
Yes! In the stream you can see part of my name at the end when he clicks off
-# hard to see in this version tho cus i had to compress it to 9MB
W
thank you

I watched Jay glaze the meme the whole video and then saw that you made the meme in the end that was crazy
I was so happy! Especially when he called it witty
I actually made and submitted that meme after he had already started the stream, so im lucky he actually reacted to it
i had the stream on muted while i was doing other things just in case he saw it, and then imagine my shock when i looked over and saw it on screen
THANKS TWIN!! 😼
No chapter this week but we got new invincible
I’ll accept it
In all of One Piece what's the most interesting theory?
crocomom
one piece
The kuja prove Sanji is extraterrestrial in origin
like the most accepted theory? or truly most deep-dive theory? the answer to the former is probably the red line's destruction leading to the all blue
No, just the theory you find most interesting.
shimon has really good theories
I can't think of a single theory
i like YC's theory that shiki is training kid and shiki's son killer
crazy shit right
Shiki's son being Killer would check out, i won't lie.
Shiki and a third-eye had shiki's son killer
My brain is somehow programmed to erase most theories I hear until it's relevant
yeah I don't really know then, maybe a theory I came across about nami being able to wield uranus but I don't remember the specifics
nami being able to wield my WHAT
truly spoiler free experience, you gotta respect it
even my own theories get erased until they get brought up. Like when Imu pulled out a gun, and harald called shirahoshi shaggy
"Oh yeah. I remember saying that shit"
Then I search my own message history
imu pulling out a gun is such a funny image
Kaido was a poneglyph
it reminds me of that meme
always wondered how they came up w that
"the more complex a power system is, the funnier it is when a character pulls out a gun"
Because he's built different
yeah at the time, ponegliffs and sea prism were the only things we knew were indestructible
and all the people calling kaido a "thing"
Yeah. My theory was that Imu didn't have a devil fruit, and was a gunslinger
that would be really funny, oda should have did that
"nice Haki, here's my modern day sniper rifle"
"Have a taste of my glock"
Then he aims sideways like a gangsta
Actually, that reminds me of that shitty nintendo wii fps game where you could do that
I stg if imu does use guns again elbaf is the worst arc ever
Ben Beckman sweep
I really thought Oda wrote himself into a corner with Kaido being like invincible but then the solution was to just punch him really hard regardless
I love it😭😭
In retrospect why did they do all of that mother carmel picture stuff with BM anyways they should have just told Luffy to beat her
But what if he dual wields pistols and does the movie spin while shooting?
Peak
🪦 Here lies Imu Baddie concept 🪦
Imu still a baddie you ask me
Why u don’t like the guns
Until I see imu human form that nigga a women too me
...not counting the recent chapter?
This not imu base form tho
They transformed when they came here
Until I see them not transformed
I’ll always believe in baddiemu
Mass delusion still strong
Lmaooo WHAT
imu is hella handsome
Boa did not die for this
Dadan hearing Garp got captured by pirates … “ that’s what he gets “
My mannnnn
Wait I should crop that more lol
Damn.

can't wait to watch east blue yet again
Why do people listen to sandman
He's insane
just whitewashing .. that’s about it lol
it’s about to be 2 whitebeards in WIT.. there is no more Blackbeard
BB’s a villain tho so he might keep his melanin
I mean he is just translating a message from Netflix
that’s only with Toei sadly lol
WIT taking it a step further than even Toei did
I mean so far he looks the same
I wonder what he sounds like, what he looks like... I bet he has kind eyes
😭😭😭🔥🔥
Guys the Gorosei have the abyssal mark right?
People online saying they think Blackbeard sneaking Imu when he returns to his throne room is a good idea for the story? Oh my gooood, bruh.
Sure why not
We’ve spent more time with Teach
Losing Imu to Teach wouldn’t be bad, depending on timing
My default assumption is bb does a marineford 2, shows up at the end for an easy win and steals the best power there
Now we also know Imu has history with the Davy, Teach’s people
I really don't like teach wants Imu power plus I get the feeling it's got huge negatives as well
Maybe I'm wrong tho
Killing Joy Boy’s nemesis for hype and plot twists right after a face reveal and (supposedly) being weakened enough by his first fight to be forced home? Durrrh, good idea!!
He’s also Davy Jones’ nemesis
Oh I don't think he will do that in elbaf
Tbh I think shanks is showing up but I'm not saying it's my first choice
That’s what the people want, apparently.
They want it to happen now. This arc. Elbaf.
I think that will happen but eventually not now
If it does happen now it’s not that we wouldn’t necessarily have time for Imu later
Look at Whitebeard
Whitebeard was only “active” in one present day arc
I don’t think it would happen ever, because Oda isn’t THAT bad of a writer.
He left a major impression, then Oda kept showing him in flashbacks
I guess I disagree it would be bad. I prefer teach to imu by a lot
Theoretically he could do something similar with Imu
The Popeyes one piece collab might just fix the economy
It’s not impossible to showcase Imu in the same arc he’s defeated in
“The main antagonist should only be alive for one arc and then ‘leave an impression.’” Thank GOD you guys don’t write One Piece.
I’d be shocked, I don’t think Oda is doing that with Imu
Well this would mean Imu isn’t the main antagonist
In this sense it would just be showcasing a future power set of BB
WIT Piece will release once the One Piece is real
Blackbeard would be
Don't confuse your personal preferences with good/bad writing lol.
Your argument is circular imu should be the main threat bc he's the main threat
^^^
Not the main antagonist in this case
Of the arc yes , of the series , yet to be seen
Like this isn’t to say imu wont be the main antagonist
You thinking Imu isn’t the main antagonist is ALSO why I’m glad you don’t write One Piece. Yes.
But Oda can just write it so that it’s clear Blackbeard is the big bad
Blackbeard is just as good, if not better
Also, like I said
This isn’t to say Imu is or isn’t the main antagonist
This is us saying that if Oda took down imu here, itd mean imu wasn’t the main antagonist after all
its cool art but do people know that coughing up blood isnt like a permanent feature of them
They’re both good for different reasons, and one or the other prematurely killing the other as if it should be a battle for the spotlight at the very end of the story STINKS!
It happening would also mean Oda can’t write for shit, which is why it isn’t happening
I don’t see why. Its looking like a three way battle across fate between Joy boy, Davy, and Imu
ok but him having blood coming out of his mouth is not him being a vampire, they drew it in the image of the panel
yes Im saying people often draw vampires like this bc drinking blood is something they often do
I’m sure people know that , it’s just cool to include it cause it’s the only fucking panel we got for now lol
It really wouldn’t because Blackbeard is already a great final villain for the story
Is mihawk some kinda vampire? Dracule seems like such a deliberate choice
So Imu is a vampire now
hes drinking his own blood is he stupid
I do think making a black blade has made him akin to being undead
meh
It's rich in iron
Blackbeard’s arc ends before the final war arc. They will
dismantle that smaller kingdom before moving on to what is and always been the greater threat in the story, which is the most world governmentz
Its always the case when someone new introduced they focus on 1 detail that the character might never do again
Like when Rocks pointed with 2 fingers or Ulti pointed at somebody this affected their fanart despite them never doing that again after their 1. Panel
I'm sorry. I'll stop
Pregbeard >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Temu
We deadass bout see imu fight fr before we see bb fight fr
the same fucking idiotic discussion about who the final antag is ad infinitum
Damn u a grumpy ass nigga
i'm really excited for next chapter
Or, the pirate story ends with the two biggest pirates fighting over the pirate treasure it’s all named after
It’s very possible that Imu is deposed and the story ends with Luffy and Blackbeard fighting over what the final world would look like
It’s fair to think so
it’s been going on for an entire week now
Its genuinely been going on for 5 years
non stop lol
It’s also possible it’s just a triple threat
As we near the end it’ll get much worse every chapter
Imu is the tyranny of the present bb is the threat that the future could be just as bad if they're not careful. He fills power vacuums in a bad way like we see after wb goes down
yeah but it’s been ignited more after the recent chapter
the wisest choice is always to just let Oda cook
Davy is just as tied to Imu as Joy Boy is
Wapol eats bb and imu to combine with them??
Yeah , being king of the world and all
They both have great potential to be great villains. I think it’s fine if they all die together.
I just hope both are in the finale and I dont think thats impossible
None of that "first one will fall 100 chapters before the series ends" bullshit
Blackbeard can’t lose to Luffy without fighting Imu first
To me the point of bb is to say it's not enough to just topple the greatest power in the world and what comes next will automatically be good. Imus defeat alone doesn't guarantee a good future
Its a triple threat ladder match for the one piece
And I could just as easily argue that Blackbeard as we know him wouldn’t exist in a world not controlled by Imu.
Blackbeard after all has more beef with Imu than Luffy
Even with my adamance that the big bad is Blackbeard I think it’s pretty clear both will fall in the same arc
W
Or Luffy changes BB or some anime shit
I don't think that's relevant. This isn't like a responsibility thing about who deserves blame it's about what the future is gonna look like
🤣😭
Luffy has more beef with Blackbeard than Imu, Blackbeard has more beef with Imu than Luffy, Imu has beef with everyone. It all works out doesn’t it
Bb is not getting changed in any universe
No need to split hairs
Hey, do we have the official colors of Imu?
Not yet
No
Damn 💔
Making the entire world fight against an emperor that half of them have no personal grudge against, like they do the World Government, for hype twist moments and aura or something like that, idk. 🔥 🔥 🔥
I mean idk it depends on how you look at the prophecy and who represents who
That’s true, which is why Imu falling before Blackbeard has potential.
Theres dramatic irony in Imu being undone because the world he created just led to Davy and Joy Boy returning
To even things out we just need Imu to kill someone important to Luffy and then the scales are balanced
One Piece4
Are you some kind of child
Are we back to this. 😭
Are you?
unfortunately
hype and aura>compelling storytelling
I hope they kill Imu. Blackbeard turns to luffy, a soft smile can be seen on his face. "Thank you luffy" he says, and gives him a hug
and a kiss
The end
You don’t have to put words in my mouth lol nobody said any of what you said
I know vegapunk said things arent always black and white but I really dont want BB or Imu to be redeemed
Bb and luffy woulda been friends in a different universe where he wasn't so evil
Then steals his fruit
They can’t be
Bb is pk, the end
I didn’t say you said that, but would that not be a side effect of what you’re asking for?
Marshall D. Monkey D. Leach is the next protagonist
Teach and Luffy's love child.
Sympathetic backstory isn’t redemption
BB only bad factor is he has slaves
The entire world….its really just Luffy’s allies. And Luffy’s allies are completely mixed between Blackbeard and Imu which is why Oda’s set up is so perfect here.
The revolutionary army hates Imu but Blackbeard also attacked and ransacked their base. And Sabo would also hate that Blackbeard had Ace killed.
The red hair pirates hate Imu but they also have major beef with Blackbeard as well
I feel nothing else really makes him need redemption
Tbh i think that imu is gonna wipe the floor with luffy and loki, that will take a toll on his body and go back, then luffy trains to master his df with loki since time in elbaf might be slower than the time outside
Like all these final contestants have beef with each other
bb and imu can't be redeemed. but my goda can still redeem charlos
Fr sliming out his adopted dad and crew mates was fine
No thats just how you perceive it

No because Oda can just write that Luffy takes down Blackbeard in the same battle royal where the world is fighting back against imu
I mean it's pirates
Mutiny is so common
he knowingly let terrible criminals in his crew and doesnt care at all about their debauchery
So either of them work perfectly as the final villain
Or even they can both be the final villain
Rhats how oh BB I think got a ship lol
He's a pirate you know how many other characters other than Luffy are like this
Didn't he get his ship from a Marine vessel he stole.
They both have similarly narratively equal setups as villains imo so it’s something we shouldn’t ignore
He brought vasco and Devon to Amazon lily and told them they can do whatever they want when they were done
Isn't it a reformed Marineship with logs attached.
Niggas always forget ts
Imu is still way more evil than BB. The worst things BB has done is child’s play to Imu, just another tuesday. So I can see why people think he would be a better big bad
In talking about real real black bears lol but he did but than went back to his swords of xebec rafts
Blackbeard is definitely a better one
Luffy was freeing mfs in impel down he is not innocent lol
I think bb a better villain too
Pirates gotta pirate and those are technically other pirates
Ah.
He is for now, but we’ve only just seen Imu’s face. There’s so much more to him, while Blackbeard has gotten more setup so far.
Or I guess we can call teach ships the eclips now right?
Things won’t remain the same forever
That woulda been a scene to rival a cd human hunt.
Yeah I still don't see Oda catching Imu up in one saga to all the development Teach has had over the story since Drum Kingdom
Fr
At this point, i don't care who the final villain is.
These discussions have made my brain gone numb.
Not really I mean teach sure probably could beat a lot of Amazon Lili but idk about the other they all know haki
Plus Luffy acc got beef with bb instead of that inherited beef from joyboy
I honestly don’t think these discussions are that bad
Luffy ignores Imu to duke it out with Blackbeard while the evil demon king is picked limb from limb by a bunch of randoms? Then what would be the point of setting up Imu’s beef with Joy Boy if the reincarnation of him isn’t even very involved in taking him down?
We spinning for ace
Not randoms
Dragon has had plenty of development to take down Imu
Luffy can handle imu too
It can be like Kaido and Big Mom
dragon taking down imu now is a joke ngl
Y'all ant ready for Imu to try and just have a conversation with Luffy and Loki 😭🤣🤣🤣
You’re looking at things to narrow mindedly love
Niggas can do multiple things at once
If boa goes down they're tearing through Amazon lily like civs
you're intelligent so I'm willing to explain my reasoning but I don't want to if you're not gonna be earnest about it
No only if BB is there
A whole island of haki users
Nah bro
I was already believing that anything less than Luffy himself, like the Revs, would already be randoms enough, but you pull out Kaido and Big Mom??????
i am not in a mood for serious discussion now, i'm tired of this topic
And an ex rock pirate present as well
I think it has to be the successor of Nika or Joyboy since they've been described as Imu's arch-enemies together with Davy Jones.
With how much beef Imu has and his sheer hatred of Luffy at this point I just don’t think it can happen truth be told
then you should find something else to do instead and leave us be instead of being rude
i've seen some semblance of reasoning before and i dont agree with that
there was no reason for you to take that shot if you're also gonna ignore me defending my take
Imu, Blackbeard and Luffy are just this perfect throuple at this point
Someone send me art of this
I think the outcome is that Luffy and Blackbeard will begrudgingly team up against Imu.
Joyboy and Davy Jones parallel.
No boa no rayleigh it's a massacre granny nyon isn't doing anything
Yeah idk
Hopefully Oda hints this in advance so I can drop the story 🙏
I disagree completely
They all know haki
We don't even know if vasco shot knows haki do we?
I think Oda already kinda has, given Imu's interest is mainly in these two people Joyboy and Davy Jones and we've got their modern counterparts in the story as Luffy and Blackbeard.
I think Blackbeard and Imu being the main antagonists of their own respective arcs, with Imu being the final antag, makes complete sense, and I think any other idea is just bad.
Poseidon, Nidhoggr and Vivi are the other 3 but I have no idea what role they'll have if i am honest.
Just Knowing haki doesn’t make u stronger than someone who doesn’t have haki
Franky whooped a va
I mean it does
Does that matter if no haki Luffy folded Marigold and Sandersonia
Tell that to franky
It's not not a strength feat
Luffy was beating people with advanced armament pre time skip lol it absolutely doesn’t
I think I'm giving them more credit as bbp officers than you are.
But it doesn't even matter. Ignore the ability to achieve the intended outcome, bb's greenlighting the horrible intentions is enough
They had adv haki too btw
And they still lost
To pre ts hakiless Luffy
Haki isn’t a insta win condition
But I still feel it's like chaos neutral
Kaido and Big Mom set a precedent that an arc/saga can have to big bads, and one of them can be taken down by people other than Luffy
Dragon and Imu have been developed the exact same way across the story. They are primarily background figures, remaining mysterious and hidden from the audience, and are developed by proxy of the organizations they run. While we wait for Dragon and Imu to be showcased, we are still able to understand things about who they are as people by virtue of the people they have as subordinates, what their organizations stand for, and the effect their organizations have had on the world.
That's in addition to the fact that Dragon's organization exists directly to undo Imu's organization.
look bro, i've seen this argument of yours many times so i know what the reasoning for you here is, you dont have to explain shit to me, i'm taking shots at the general state of discourse, you dont have to get offended over this and genuinely, i dont think dragon is gonna take down imu given the state of things now and what luffy being joyboy and BB being the descendant of davy jones and carrier of his will is, dragon is gonna take part in the battle but the buildup between him and imu as opposites and opponents is kinda non existent
There's also the way Egghead played out
I truly don't care
Damn what happened
It's hard to use Luffy cus he's has plot armor lmao
But
He acc didn’t read it cause he typed this fast af😂😂😂
Has the wg ever invade Amazon Lili?
Throwing disrespect out and then going "well i'm not gonna actually listen to you explain how it's a rational take" is some weak shit
@glacial bear Five Elder Stars ⭐️
Wha do you think will happen next chapter?
Not to be rude myself but I was being genuine
BB pirates always have negative plot armor too they always make it
Imu will aura farm
Talk yo shit twin
The serial killer and the heavily implied assaulter but we can't go there directly cause it's one piece?
Imu will have their "Madara moment"
Wait, I’m sorry. My bad. I misunderstood. I thought you were saying Kaido and Big Mom should take down Imu.
True but that's kinda why I'm saying if teach wasn't at Amazon Lili I think both vasco and I forget who else was there would lose to the amazonians
I still don’t agree, though. Dragon taking down Imu would also stink.
Idk

I kinda forgot what the situation was but yeah Vasco and Devon got stoned by Boa Hancock
Highly likely , I wanna see him step on Usopp’s head personally , as an Usopp fan
Like zoro in skypeia
But it’s Usopp
I could see that.
This just gives bb even more responsibility for the horrific outcomes that would have ensued
Though Usopp is already out for the count right now.
Ahh I get you but I also think like even tho teach told them to go wild it's easy to assume that's happen before but maybe not? Maybe he's reigning them in kinda how I felt rocks did where he kidna took the most dangerous people and put then under his wing but rocks ether changes or became more kidna hearted / good person / I think in the end but BB is much more savage that is true
Fuck him up some more he can take it
you dont have to engage with what i'm saying and carry on with your discussion, dont come at me for saying shit i want to say, you have no right to ask me to stop, do your thing and stop caring about what i'm saying on this topic then, i truly dont give a shit what you think on this topic sure, but i dont give a shit what others discussing this topic think either, so its a general thing, carry on your thing and dont get offended over general jokes and shots
Woldn't it be even more crazy if he does this to Luffy.
Next time ussop is stood up he is going to pick up ragnir trust and believe
Yea
Hype
Not when you look at Dragon's relationship with the WG compared to Luffy's throughout the series
Lemme ask you this
Thought we left Usopp with Ragnir in 2025 🙏
Uspp has the most hp of any straw hat
Of every WG affiliated nation Luffy has helped, how many left the WG as a result?
FUCKKKKKKK no
imu fucks everyone up
You took a shot at something I said
I dead ass think Imu walks up and sits down to talk to them 🤣
no i didnt
Somehow lmao
i didnt even see you saying shit about dragon
lol okay must have been coincidence
For me this is a very bad panel for bb it doesn't seem like he's reigning them in at all
I hope that Imu blitzes them.
Highly likely, tho I wanna see how nidhogg fairs against him
Since the assumed time limit.
Dragon and the revs can fight the greater WG because of their grudge against it, but you are not gonna tell me he should take down Imu instead of the character who’s being explicitly set up by the story to be the reincarnation of Imu’s greatest foe.
They keeping tabs
since luffy and loki will have to recover faster to take on imu in the meanwhile
I've always thought BB just likes the chaos, but honestly I've always suspected that BB's crew will go the same way as the Rocks crew did.
i think loki is fine
Wait
luffy is the one we have to look out for
Be already ate
At least he ant letting vasco have her lmao but wait a sec...... Weird convo can he take boas fruit while she's alive? I mean tbh also forcing bonnh to be his wife is pretty weird but I guess he did give her a choice it just was an ultimatum
loki can just unfreeze shit
That last part is exactly why I don't think it's gonna be Luffy. The notion of Luffy defeating Imu because it's obligated that he's the one to do it is completely antithetical to Luffy's character.
Loki's issue is his wounds and he's just exhausted himself
fine relatively compared to luffy
Maybe Imu will stab Loki in the same spot where Cerberus attacked him.
Luffy is too self-determined and stubborn to simply fall in line to responsibility
I just watched usopp get completely destroyed by kilo girl and dudr was still able to get up and fight
Crap I was about to say arlong sister but no she's Aladdin's wife !
I dunno I kinda hope we get answers on the fruit stealing that's one thing I don't want to remain a mystery
I mean, he does feel a responsibility to his crew? Unless you mean something else?
She looooves Aladdin. Praline is funny for what little time we get her
Some of u niggas aren’t real
Who is Aladdin now again?
he from the new sun pirates
Original nidhogg I assume came close to defeating imu that’s why imu hates them , so I wanna see them fight
For sure!! I mean tbh I'll take any news on devil fruits I'm kinda worried will know too much about them tho by the time we figure all the stuff out they might lose there " magic" to me
I vote with my gut instinct and sometimes I just like a character's design.
Jimbei crew before the sh
Jimbe's friend
Luffy doesnt go out of his way to fight the WG if they dont to anything to him but naturally he always comes to head butts with them
Mu gut instinct eh?
And she is another straw hat affiliate not sorta 🤣
I can't wait to Lulusia places at random.
Captain of the Sun Pirates
Ah.
Luffy ignores the prophecies and murals and dooms everyone because character consistency. Everyone is dead or miserable, but Luffy remained true to himself, I guess. The end. Bravo, bravo!!
That's because Luffy is their captain, and he wanted to be their captain.
"Luffy you have to defeat Imu because you're Joy Boy" wouldn't work on Luffy, and that leads me to believe that it's gonna be subverted
He's is kinda one of the coolest fishmen in the whole series
Oda's already started laying the seeds for it
Wasn't that FisherTiger.
Does he hate him? He doesn't seem to hold Nidhog to the same level as say Joyboy or Davy
Fisher Tiger is dead
Then it was Jinbei now Aladin
I forgot all about him, lol.
I wish you'd talk like a normal person
It doesn’t see like he hates niddhog I think
DOUBLE ALADDIN
Cool design I won't lie.
Like u can tell that nigga hate Davy and he really really hate joyboy
He definitely does , he’s been tracking the fruit by being suspicious of Elbaf , and when he saw Loki nidhogg he said NIDHOGG!!!! very angrily so yeah
Why is it all the exact same pic
I don't think that Imu hates Nidhoggr to the same degree either.
I mean homie was the MVP of whole cake
Imu wants Loki's power
Aladdin army
They seem to be more interested in Nidhoggr, probably due to Nidhoggr being a valuable opposition against Nika back in the day.
Imu probably knows all about their battles.
I think he knows he can't control Nika
Oh, I think he'll want to defeat Imu because he'll hate him for something he does. It will become personal for him
I think he wants to use whoever has the fruit , because he’s definitely pissed at its existence in general
imus arrival was so grand that I forgot about mosa😂
Not because of responsiblity
Like maybe Nika is always able to break away
i haven’t thought about mosa for weeks
Nika is the definition of freedom so it only makes sense.
Istg if.loki gets his ass handed to him by imu I'm gonna call him midpig till the ends of time
Midpig?
- Luffy "leaving people to be doomed" wouldn't even be new for Luffy's character. When Nami told Luffy that Water 7 was going to be destroyed by the aqua laguna, his response was "does that mean anything to us?"
When Luffy saved Syrup Village, he said it was only because he didn't want Usopp to get hurt
When Luffy fights Enel, he isn't mad that Enel was attacking Skypeia, he was mad that Enel doing so ruined their trip and made the sky dark
- None of that BS is gonna come to pass anyway because Imu will still be handled by the Revos
Film Z is non canon
But oda wrote the script so I'm gonna reference it anyway
I do think it works for a time but is never permanent but for nidhod maybe they can manipulate them way easier
When Luffy found out Z was planning to destroy the New World, he didn't care
Niddhog, hog - pig, nidd - mid
I think Loki will have to go to FMI to find Mosa only to find BB kidnapped her
The apocalyptic consequences were literally no concern for him, he just wanted his hat back
oda wrote that
I don't know, it seems like Imu couldn't domi reversi Loki either... Though that may change now when they're here in their true form.
I mean bro this is a movie
Ah, I'd have just gone with Midhoggr.
Wasnt that Strong World
Do u think if they surrendered woulda acc not killed them
Yeah but Oda supervised it*
Writing was SW, yeah
Well, I struggle to take this seriously because a lot of this theory is so silly, such as saying that because Luffy is ignorant to the big issue and what he’s destined to accomplish as Nika, he’ll just completely blow off Imu in the final arc to pursue some grudge match with Blackbeard.
But that's an attitude Luffy has had in the story
I should preference this by saying I do think what ever Imu plans to try in person will be stronger like a forced contract but I forgot that was speculation and Imu didn't say anything like that lol
By obey I imagine that Imu would force a covenant on them.
And who defeated Z in that movie?
He'd be okay doing that if he knows there's people who can handle Imu while he handles Blackbeard
That's my idea as well
This is exactly what happened with Kaido and Big Mom
You and me yc... we love love
Well even then thats why Luffy will fight Imu for a similar, seemingly smaller, more personal reason, its like that with every villain (or sometimes theyre really just in his way like Katakuri)
That's irrelevant to my point, which is that Luffy being indifferent to widespread destruction is not new to the franchise
But dude does lol
He even shared it this last chapter , he was saying make sure chopper is fed or something
Yeah usopp and Loki was like na our frozen food
Oh yeah I meant to reply to @lofty fern with this as well, but I don't think so. I think the notion of Luffy becoming the new Joy Boy is too close to destiny for a character like Luffy
Luffy is too resistent and defiant to external expectations and responsibility
But they can’t handle Imu. Everything in the story makes clear that Imu’s only real considerable threat to his reign is Luffy/Joy Boy/Nika.
Well they already been saying Joyboy beat Kaido in Wano
It didn't seem angry to me, more frustration and surprise. I think a lot of people atribute feelings to Imu based on how many exclamation marks they have, but I don't think that's always what it is.
who the hell is joyboy
And Imu overlooking Dragon who does end up that strong will be a satisfying way to bring him down
This isn’t true , He mentioned Davy jones on the same level of impotence as nika in the last chapter
It also doesn't have to be a 1 v 1
And cut up both luffy and bb pictures
As if any of these characters were a literal devil figure with murals depicting the final battle against them.
Imu being defeated by Dragon after Imu runs the craziest gauntlet is also satisfying
They’re equally enraging to him
No, it would not.
They set the precedence that there can be two big bads
A joyous boy.
Wait did revs get a panel when Imu was going through his hate list this chapter?
I think you’re way off base , I was just going over a basic chapter bullet point I don’t wanna argue every little nitpick with you rn
It's all about clown boy
No.
Hell yeah I pray Imu runs a gauntlet
yes it would be because Dragon is the figurehead of the common man's main fight against Imu. Dragon has been shouldering every wrong Imu has committed to the world in his entire time as the Revolutionary leader
That's kinda sad lmao the biggest force against Imu he don't care
It will be like that other series.
Also
Referencing the mural is shooting yourself in the foot
Luffy and Blackbeard are defined by the way they throw a wrench into everything
I think it's one of those things why you achieve your destiny because you want to. It all falls into line. It's not that anyone will force Luffy into anything, but he'll do it of his own accord, not because of the prophecy but because he just wants to. His desires and the prophecy will both be fullfilled.
Blackbeard and Luffy are disruptors
I know what you mean but I like to how many series this applies
Having a mural neatly depicting what's going to happen just tells us, Blackbeard and Luffy are about to ruin all that shit
joyboy is the opposite of Imu's opinions and ideals
davy is imu's biggest enemy
I like the theory that the sea weakness is actually Davy Jones' ability but due to the passing down or his will into rocks and BB and whatnot I feel like he's gone
Remember in Wano when Law said he had two plans
The plan he told Luffy
And the plan for when Luffy disrupts that plan
Blackbeard is such a disruptor, he heard you weren't allowed to eat two DFs and he said yeah fuck that
Luffy and Blackbeard are two bad ass kids that don't listen to shit
Cool, just a difference of opinion. It's just a matter of where Imu's concentration might be centered.
Both are literally disruptors by fate. They straight up both having the big D in their name that indicates them as disruptors!
Void Century Law made a secret second mural under the first one too
There could be something to that , since bb can eat two fruits
And as a result, they cause whatever expectatiosn or standards you have to be deviated from
Both of them are in front of him now so it’s a moot point
marineford is a shining example of that
It was supposed to be a war between an Emperor and the navy
Luffy and Blackbeard came in and threw everything out of whack
That's exactly what they're gonna do that mural
Unless it's like as some fans think he makes a beeline for Usopp 🤣
We see it littered all throughout the story in subtle ways
💀 that should only take half a panel anyway
Like when the Straw Hats first entered the New World
Idk why people think Imu has personal beef with Usopp now
My breakfast is ready. This really isn’t worth arguing. We both fundamentally disagree.
Smoker predicted EXACTLY which island Luffy was going to choose
Well that's where you're wrong
The point of this isn't for either of us to get the other to agree
Not that he does , but it’s widely accepted now that Usopp’s words ragebaited imu into appearing, since he already knew DR wasn’t gonna work on those 2
I’m not entitled to eating my breakfast…?
This SUCKS! I’m HUNGRY!!
The point is so that when I dispute what you say, you have to now consider my counterpoints and either reconcile what your thought process to account for that counterpoint, or let it go if you can't
You shouldn't be having any of these discussions with the intent of changing anyone's mind
You mean on Usopp and Brook?
Imu: Every moment in near history hath led up to our encounter. Truly it was inevitable.
Community: Usopp ragebaited imu
Tehse discussions are so you can sharpen your own critical thinking skills
No lmao , DR didn’t work on luffy and loki , and imu the says he knew that wasn’t gonna work anyway
So DR not working was not a factor in him appearing forreal
But how is Usopp related to that
It's the whole "ragebait" meme. I honestly don't think Imu even thought twice about what Usopp said. If anything its a coincidence
Of course Imu doesn't care what Usopp said.
What I was getting at here is, even when you have something like Smoker being able to deduce EXACTLY where Luffy is about to be
Imu was gonna use DR on them anyway wasnt he?
Luffy throws a wrench into it
Because DR not working wasn’t a factor in imu appearing here , the only thing that was a factor in that recent point in time was Usopp’s words
Instead, he went to Punk Hazard
That’s how
You can't pin Luffy down or put him in a box
I would love imu to somehow get a personal grudge against usopp like doffy in dressrosa
He and Blackbeard ALWAYS have a surprise in store for you
But how am I to do that when each time you provide a new point, I look at it long and hard, scratch my chin, ponder, and still come to the conclusion that I don’t agree?
Okay
can you imagine if the explanation is that the will of the fruits denied imu
and then we're back to willpower and suddenly you can just conq your way out of anything imu does
Then don't agree
Okay. I don’t agree.
The point is, can you reconcile what you thought with my counter points
If you say "A=B" and I say "A=C," does your thought process hold up
I think it’s headed that way anyway with zoan wills
"My will is greater than yoursssss"
"The haki or the mental state?"
I feel like I missed a panel, I thought Imu had to go away because he was frozen in Gunkos body
That's the only exercise that matters here
philosophy argument going on here
I would say that was more likely to what he spent half the chapter talking to the Elders about, not anything Usopp said. It's about the fact that everything is inevitable, so he might as well stop being on the defensive and begin to be offensive.
That's how I treat any debate here
being invested in getting people to say "youre right" is how you end up becoming pissy
is that icarly in pfp
The point should just be, "can my thought process hold up to other people's scrutiny" and that's it
He could’ve gotten out of the ice anyway , he could also possess anyone else he wanted , from the HK
dont rmmbr her wearing that shirt..
If someone tells me I'm wrong and they give me their reasons why, can I reconcile what I was thinking with what they're bringing up
Maybe if there were any worth to it. I don’t get anything out of arguing with you about which villain is more important in a battle shonen. There is no real world application to what I could feasibly learn from this discussion.
online exclusive episode, you had to be there
I don't thik that's true
I think he was going to try it, because why not? It doesn't cost him anything if it doesn't work, and if it does? All the better.
Even if it's just about a comic, it encourages critical thinking
Same thing with riddles
Despite how trivial they are, they encourage lateral thinking
AYEEEE THATS FIRE 🤩
Even something as minor as "who has this story set up as its big bad" is valuable for critical thinking
Because you have to be able to take apart what you're reading and draw conclusions from that
"If ABC is true, then XYZ must also be true" is the essence of critical thinking, and you apply that any time you think about anything
Okay but Imu coming back feels more like a direct result of Nika and Nidhöggr being there and ganging up on him
What you were doing earlier is a demonstration of the value of these kinds of discussions btw @mortal yarrow
It got kind of annoying
I do wonder about that? Can Imu possess anyone? Or is it just people that have true immortality? Like he's so far only possessed Saturn and Gunko. Both are people that are immortal and don't age 🤔
But responding to what I said with rhetorical questions is another way to do this
Because you're forcing me to go "How can I reconcile what I just said with this negative outcome"
Fair
I have to demonstrate how what I've said to you does not necessarily mean our only outcome is that negative scenario you just said
I think its safe to assume that he can only posses people who have accepted his power
I responded to them despite being annoyed by them because, like I said
The goal wasnt' to change your mind
The goal was, when you dispute me, I can either resolve that problem
And if I cant resolve it, then i probably oughta need to revisit my thought process behind it
That's why I've never minded lengthy discussions in here or view debates as inherently arguing
I'm either going to sharpen my thoughts, or I'm going to realize there's holes I can't resolve, and I need to pick up a different thought process
Very true
I think that's anyone who has his full contract. Blades, Knights, and Elders. You have to actually accept his contract in all 3 of those levels. We know that since he couldn't force Harald to become a knight, but had to manipulating him into accepting. Same idea with Loki and how they couldn't force him to be a knight.
However, I think only those with the highest covenant, he can possess
what break week after an important chapter has people doing
Nah, I think the magnitude of the mural has reached the breaking point. A character like Luffy who is defiant to outward expectations is bound to eventually do so in a major way
The mural, with how far reaching its implications are, is the prime candiate for being that thing
oh wait no it's a nothing week actually I forgot
yeah possession seems like a high tier skill so it would make sense if you need more conditions to fulfil it
It's the most important outward expectation there is because it pertains to saving the entire world
The fact that it's the most important expectation means it's exactly the one Luffy is gonna break
I like the idea of Imu being more limited with his powers
He is spitting blood already. He has limits
Was he spitting blood because he’s weakened, or was he spitting blood because transforming into the devil is a gruesome and painful process?
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Only transformation in this story that I can think of that tops off with a giant explosion.
To be fair do we even know if he can possess regular HK?
Gorosei was stressed about him leaving. Cant be just about transformation
genuinely gruesome week rn
do you count the anime
?
I am supposed to be the final villain
I was beaten by a mink
I have no conquerors haki
My Ancestors is the former king of the world.
My crew has to fight together to beat a 75 years old man
Who am I 😂
I saw one interpretation that it may not be blood
It could be like, imu's essense
What he's made of falling apart once he left Marijoa
it probably is blood but that would be interesting
Stressed about him leaving for his health, or stressed about him leaving because they know what amount of havoc he may wreak on the lower world.
yeah no in the manga Lucci doesn't explode when awakening that shit was imu exploding
I think it's a prelude for the transformation to take place.
that was another thing i considered. that they wanted him to stay because they know he's gonna be devastating
They dont give 2 fucks about damage he would cause
Considering the idea of deep sea contracts and what not, I’ve decided of my own accord that Imu likely gets stronger the closer to the sea he is, but perhaps at the risk of losing control.
I was thinking that maybe, it's less about the technique and more about the fact that his power is so high and his life is so long, that if he was to possess the body of a person who didn't age? He'd burn through them super quickly. With a person who is immortal, they can handle his presence in their body
go to manga, there's a banger chapter to discuss for the week
go to toei, you get a well adapted anime episode
go to wit, there's banger shanks concept art
go to OPLA, you get LEGO One Piece
rate my cope
idk about that, the elders seem to begrudingly follow Imu and they even tried to protest about Lulusia by mentioning how many lives are there
They view humans as bugs
I already discussed it the chapter for a week i want the next one
hey look on the bright side
the gasping at straws on wit piece because that was literally the only new thing that they showed

Man I been discussing this chapter for almost 2 weeks cause of spoilers 💔💔
the things i mentioned are also true
wait is it gasping at straws or grasping at straws
That’s the only issue with my line of reasoning, but I think even THEM being concerned about the potential havoc would be very interesting.
I feel like it's the latter
Grasping
them doing the whole "humans are insects" thing in Egghead could be them coping
Convincing themselves that human lives are irrelevant so they can do their jobs
I was assuming that was because of the transformation and how arduous it was
There’s nothing to really suggest so far that it shouldn’t be the case , here’s why: he has a 13 convenants pact , the more important slots are already taken up by the gorosei
And Gunko
There are hints that gunko can be special, but to our basic knowledge she’s also a god blade at one point and then HK
@lofty fern I think the fact that they can't pin down Nika's role is another precursor for Luffy ultimately doing his own thing, and not falling in line with the ancient text and expectations
Luffy is all about breaking the mold, and the most important mold we've heard of so far is already flimsy
Then it would bring up another issue. Why is he doing such a thing to begin with if it’s causing him pain?
I saw a theory that it was proximity to the sea that hurt imu, but I feel like Aurust Castle is farther up than the red line
maybe it's in the same path but accounting for something existing in Pangea Castle that negates that sea weakness imu has
yeah assuming its someone who has a lower tier contract and not just anyone cause that would be insanely powerful
I think they say the red line is the highest point in the world bar sky islands tho
Why is the villain using his transformation to power up before battle?
I think if Luffy actually KNEW that he was part of some plan, he would be defiant against it, but because he kinds of just goes through life unknowing, he's fullfilling his role by being himself.
We know that the Dawn will come and Luffy will bring it. That's a done deal. How he does it? He could do it many ways, but he will do it and it will also be unknowingly something he wants to do as well.
This is an existential threat to the WG
I wonder why the sky islands are largely exempt from the WG control
was it ever explained?.
probably tedious to govern
Probably the same reason Amazon Lily was free so long
I don’t Luffy necessarily needa to know the whole picture. It can be as simple as someone asking him to do one particular thing, and his refusal to do it causing a domino effect that throws it all out of whack
Oden said a group of young pirates were destined to defeat Kaido, and Luffy did, out of his own decision but he fulfilled the prophecy
Or in my imagined, probably-not-the-case scenario, why is the villain descending to the lower world where this transformation automatically occurs, while there are opponents he desperately wants to squash there?
I’m aware, and the fact that Luffy fell in line with that just makes me more suspicious of that happening with the mural
so it's an issue with oda again because these are clouds in the image
And it would make sense to isolate the celestial dragons in some sky island, make the holy land there, people can't easily access them and are separate from the rest of the world
Luffys thing is he throws a wrench into roadmaps, and the mural is the biggest one we’ve gotten so far
The fact that it’s so big means it’s the one that creates the most narrative conflict should Luffy break it
Yes and he is being forced to do all of this. Imu been pretty clear about certain moves costing him personally like the mark and now this. Its reasonable to assume it is blood and its part of the cost he is paying for going there in person and transforming. Not just aesthetics
yeah the idea of Luffy fulfilling the prophecy just by doing whatever he wants is probably what Oda is going for
Yeah I think all that matters is the end result of the Dawn coming in is all that matters
Probably the holy land needs to be over the red line/Mary Geoise due to some Imu curse/contract
You want the holy land to be a mix of separate but accesible. Their current predicament is partly because they are already cut off from the sea. It would be hell trying to have tribute/food/diplomats regularly shipped to a sky island
Luffy will technically fulfill the prophecy in that regard
He will 100% be why the Dawn is ushered in
But I think Luffy and Blackbeard are about to throw outta whack entirely how the Dawn coming in looks
VS how it was “supposed” to look per the Harley
I hope its more exciting than it sounds
I think this world structure of seas divided in regions because of the red line will change. I believe the One Piece will unify the seas somehow
It probably is in a vacuum, excessive contact with the story makes it seem that the impact isn't there
LA Croc is almost perfect. Fix the hair, and we're good.
Not the biggest fan of the costume designs tbh
