Episode 1-14 ||Ok, this is gonna be a bit, so bear with me. Romance Dawn is a simple arc. Luffy is likeable, and Zoro is badass from the start, but the rest is a little simple. The action is quite dynamic, and while sometimes the animation comes to a stand still, it isn't that bad to me. I absolutely hate Koby and Helmeppo. The villains (Alvida and Captain Morgan) are kind of mediocre. However, the flashback episode with Luffy and Shanks was absolutely amazing. Loved it to death. Orange Town is a little better. Nami is a bit annoying, but not to the same extent as Koby and Helmeppo. Buggy and his crew are quite the fun group of villains, even if they literally destroy almost all of the town. That dog, though. He waited for his owner and protected his shop, and yet it was still destroyed. Absolutely devestating. So yeah. Orange Town is fun, but now we get to Syrup Village. It starts off light-hearted, but it goes sour real fast. The first half is a bit boring, and I absolutely hated when Kaya slapped Usopp because she didn't believe him, when Usopp was actually telling the truth. But once we get to Kuro and Jango's plan, it gets really exciting. Kuro himself is not typically the person you would expect to be evil, but he plans ahead and is absolutely merciless. Jango is a bit weird, but he's kind of badass too. At first, the Straw Hats are outnumbered, with only Nami and Usopp to fend off the Black Cat Pirates. Then, Zoro and Luffy arrive, and it gets a lot more frenetic. The fight between Zoro and the Meowban Brothers is a good example of this. Finally, Kaya finally figures out Kuro's plan, and decides to stand up to her. Kaya pointing a gun at Kuro is one of the highlights of this arc, even if Kuro did manage to smash it to bits. Now, Luffy and the Straw Hats must face off against Kuro. Excited to see where this goes. So yeah, One Piece so far is pretty good.||

Highlights include the fight scenes, the flashback to Usopp's mom dying (sad that Usopp lived alone for most of his life), and of course, the introduction of the Going Merry and Usopp joining the crew. One more episode of Syrup Village to go, then I watch the first One Piece movie. After that, it's onwards to Baratie||
