I don’t disagree with the idea of press. I think if done properly just like any other strategy it can lead to good results and good football. My problem is with the idea that everyone has to press. Just like you don’t need to be technical to be a good footballer, you also don’t need to be the most physical dude. James doesn’t press and he’s almost walking on the field but with a single touch he can put your player where he wants with the eyes on goal. The idea behind a 10 is having a reference in the middle who you can use as a pivot. You know where he is, you pass, he creates. I think it’s a great system and I don’t like that now everything is the same system with no place for the creativity of players like James
