WoT show ||the ending for episode 1 was just so sudden. They just yeeted the two rivers so abruptly without showing any real human reaction to what just happened, and their fate for the future||

The exposition for WoT could be maaaaad confusing for anyone who hasn’t read the series

WoT|| episode 1 and 2’s pacing was just….. too fast and just throws you in||

All of the great moments really shined tho!! You could tell how crazy the production value was

Cowboy bebop LA / Anime / Movie || just finished the first ep of the LA, but let me preface this by saying that already went into this expecting it to be its own thing, not a recreation of the anime.
So far, the set designs and locations are freaking fabulous, and the characters are great, their acting is generally fine. esp love the main crew, they executed their localized versions great while keeping their main characteristics, i would know it's them right away even if i didnt know what the show was, which is all i would be asking for in smth like this. also love Faye's sass lol.
Loved how they did the opening sequence based on the movie and used it to fill in the scene that's just offscreened in the anime and narrated by jet, really cool touch to set up the scene/show well and is a good intro to the characters, esp spike.
Smth more subtle that i liked is how they ease into the music with spike listening to jazz on his headphones first then the vinyl before the show moves onto using them normally.
also liked some little moments like Faye finding the password on a sticky note lol, and spike's smooth talk to Katerina. found the cig thing a great western equivalent of bumping into her and stealing the food for the jp.
and oh, ALL of the CGI is freaking FABULOUS, love it.||
|| as for what i didnt like, the main thing is how the ended the Katerina & Asimov plot line and the ep overall. Sacrificing Katerina killing Asimov herself when she sees how far gone he is and that there's no hope for them just to tie the Faye introduction in, give her a cool moment, and end on a thief joke is not worth it at all. I think that they tried to compensate for that by having spike tell her about there being no escape earlier then her saying it back to him, but it's not the same at all. And ending the ep itself on the ulia face reveal and her intimate time with vicious is not great either. going for the shock value of "oh, that's probably spike's ex girlfriend and she's with the dude that wants to kill him" is just a dumb generic western concept of how to end an ep. it pales in comparison to the final chase scene in the anime where it goes from chase music and bullets to slow jazz that makes you feel the emptiness of space and let's Katerina's realization and decision play well. Not saying that i want that replicated, but give me smth better than playing it safe with a generic cliffhanger that the target audience is more likely to enjoy.
Another main thing i didnt like is how hard they're pushing Julia in the FIRST ep, they're going at it waaay too hard. This also leads me into my second point. They made Julia full on sexy lady and Faye full on badass cowgirl, it's really iffy for me because both of them are what you would call a bad bitch for lack of a better term, basically a mix of sexy lady and badass cowgirl/syndicate personnel. obv Faye has more of the badass than Julia, but when you change the toilet scene to remove ALL of the sass/sensualness out of it, it's just going too far imo. both because it's a central part of Faye's character and an iconic scene. all i wanted was the pose, idc about her outfit or anything, matter of fact i love the outfit she has here in the LA. just cmon man
As for some other somewhat minor issues, the fighting is so damn stiff and obv fake, i dont feel their punches/kicks/stabs/guns/movement at all, it's just so stiff and unnatural. it's really apparent in the scene where jet and Asimov are rolling on the ground, there are pauses in the freaking roll. idk if they're just that afraid of the actors hurting themselves and/or wont use stunt doubles.
finally, the attention to detail. It's amazing in most places and i applaud them for it, really great work. However, how the hell do they expect me to look at Julia's tattoo and not see how it's obv drawn with a sharpie??? or at least looks like that. same goes for the ash tray and how spike puts out the cig in the opening sequence. ||

Cowboy bebop LA ep2 || one more I couldn’t fit in that msg is that there are some awkward pauses in the acting that make it seem quite comical, more like a parody than it is a serious thing. A good ex of this is Asimov and Katerina entering the bar. Looking at ep 2 now and it looks just like the bounty hunter’s tv show presenters lol, like that type of parody, not sure if its intentional but it’s weird. 
and speaking of 2nd ep, the fight in the bathroom is more like a real fight so I hope this is a sign of things to come. Not perfect, but much better.||

I saw the first two episodes of the Live Action Cowboy Bebop, and I thought it was great. Why are some anime fans so fucking negative? It was never going to be a complete recreation of the original. The important part is that it kept the feel of the original and many of the plot beats, just in different orders. Cowboy Bebop is an episodic anime that didn't deal with spikes past as much so they expanded it and rearranged it a bit. I'm honestly liking the extra depth they are giving Vicious and Julia as a character. It's a remix, things are going to be different, but it's a remix of the same song. Some things obviously aren't going to work. I saw that clip of Ed on the internet and cringed to death. But as far as the two episodes I have watched so far it seems fine.

giri haji ending || the ending was pretty good, i was worried the whole time they'd just kill people left and right but i was pleasantly surprised, the opera-esque dance at the end was really nice. it was basically a visual summary of all the relationships and events of the characters. My family and I got into a debate about what was "real" in the ending or not, i personally thought that what we saw of yuto in france could be either kenzo's vision or the actual events, but it didnt matter since yuto no longer had anyone chasing him. Overall it was pretty good, ep 4 was still the best one, i felt like vickers, donna and ian were kinda thrown away as characters and im a little sad that abbot also peaced out after ep4 before coming back in the last one but all of them werent too important to the story ||

Giri/Haji finale || everything post episode 4 was pretty good for me, barring it having a lot of tangentiality, which I appreciate but it's just overplayed in some small part. Honestly really love all the characters and the relationships built up very well. Rodney and Taki especially I love the relationship of, Sarah's whole Ian thing I was a bit bored of but fortunately we didn't see much of that. Abbot, Donna and Vickers I wish did something more but I guess the writer had to close off that in some respect. The finale was pretty cool. Fucking Ron rescuing the women from Fukuhara's men was cool that whole thing felt organically revealed. I loved the relationships between the three women of the mori family as well. The ending was cool, I genuinely think Yuto met up with Eiko and Sora and it went happy for him. Episode 6 especially made me emotional, felt nice seeing the characters bond. Wish we got more tho, there's still a lot built up between Sarah and Kenzo and Taki being rebellious as well. Cool stuff ||
