So basically I have this story concept where this one guy was born with eyes that made him omniscient so he could see and know everything, and he took them out because he was tired of knowing about the suffering of the world. If I had a hard magic system I'd have to explain this in some sort of convoluted way to make an op ability like this make sense, but in a soft magic system I can be unrestricted and make the story and characters I wanna make without having the barrier of explaining it by the same rules as a less powerful set of abilities
