Season 1 of Light & Magic was excellent

I wish they split their golden years as they became a powerhouse and grew beyond Star Wars, and the advent of CG with the development of Pixar creating a fissure in the studio, into two separate episodes. Combining those stories kinda meant each individual film was getting a bit glossed over in episode 4.

But that's my only complaint in something that's already 9 hours and covered in related books and media. This was so thorough otherwise.

And I understand this is ultimately funded by Disney, and talking about the massive layoff period and founding members splitting off to form competitors post-Return of the Jedi is something they're not gonna fucking do.

They gave a spotlight to Joe Johnston and Pixar probably cuz their separation from ILM coincided with them making Disney movies lmao

My big issue with the final season of the Boys is (up to latest episode) ||the writers don’t even feel like they know it’s ending soon. And there’s so much bullshit filler at the beginning of this season I feel like the end will be rushed as hell. Also a ton of the plotlines since the 4th season feel like they’ve gone nowhere, latest example being Noir 2. Like you could’ve cut that out. Also, I don’t think the writers are smart enough to write someone like Sage. ||

My thoughts on the Boys Season 5 is summed up by ||the boys is about to end forever, but do the writers know that?||

row part 4 || loved the end of adolin's trial. It wasnt that surprising i was expecting that to be the answer for a while, but it was still executed well. Venly's admission to rlain didnt really feel like a climax, i expect there's more coming. But I have appreciated the contentualization of her current state through flashbacks, i dont have the same dislike for them that seems to be common. Navani's science has been the best thread of the book imo and i liked the climax there. The mercy killing of rabonial's daughter was really sad and achieved what I assume to be the purpose, generating sympathy for the fused being somewhat unwilling participants in the war ||

Watched the Resident Evil movie trailer finally ||I have no idea why people get Resident Evil vibes from this. It looks like it will be an okay horror movie, but I did not at all get "oh this is resident evil for sure". There's just some big dude in a sewer?? The bodies were coming out of the door way like grabbing on to the top of the frame? If anything it would be closer to a psychological horror like a silent hill. I probably wont see it in theaters and tbh I probs wont be that much of a fan of it as an RE fan||

RE movie ||I also didn't. However, there's an interview with the director about his intentions - and fair warning it has RE8 spoilers in the interview - and it gave me a lot more confidence in his vision. Even if doesn't feel like RE on the visual front at first, it will in the details.||

But 90% of the time, I couldnt care less about said adaptation OR I actively dislike it because to me the spirit of the thing is lost||

OPLA ||For me, and I know tons of people will disagree with this, OPLA does not feel like One Piece to me. It isnt enjoyable, I dont like a ton of choices they made, the cosplay syndrome is off the charts. It just doesnt work for me. I am glad others like it and wont ever say it shouldnt exist, but these adaptations are not made for me, I am not the fan that this stuff is made for||

OPLA and RE ||Oh, then, yeah, we're gonna be on opposite spectrums: I loved season 2 of the live action and I like the director behind RE 'cause of his previous two works and love for the series which gives me some hope he will pull off something interesting. Granted, I could be dead wrong. I don't think a single RE movie so far has been critically well received. ||

RE Movie & OPLA ||and I am fine with people disagreeing. The thing is, for me, everything about an IP's original form is what made me love it usually. Again there are exceptions (notably Hellboy's Del Toro Movies, Scott Pilgrim, and the Witcher games and books) but usually I am not really that interested in a new vision of an IP I already love. I dont really care to see what this dude's take on RE is, the trailer alone told me it isnt really catching my attention when it kinda just looked like a silent hill kinda deal in a way. Or OPLA, the original storyline was great I dont really care for the Marine story line in either season. Doesnt help that I think Garp in the live action is the worst version of the character there could be but that is a whole other topic||

Also, I hate that she sold out her gladiatii brothers and sisters as they were trying to escape and find freedom; felt like the book was trying to show Mia was growing close to people and had a heart. Hopefully there's some twist to that betrayal coming up.||
